Here's my submission for Warframe's 11th anniversary contest! :)

Timelapse (that i forgot to turn on until a fourth of the way in lmao):

i did this in the past two nights (with a few tweaks this morning right before the deadline), really glad i was able to squeeze something out i'm proud of in time :)

i drew for a total of 8 hours yesterday (2 hours on the last minute spring basket submission and 6 hours straight on this one) so tbh i'm feeling kinda crumpled today, but at least i'm happy with what i was able to accomplish :)

submitted for the spring basket contest 1 minute before the deadline holy hell my hands are sweating lol

i didn't plan on making this until i had a sudden idea this morning that i had to get out

it's a very quick and rough sketch but i had fun with it :)

and here's a low quality timelapse cause why not lol, i started with regular line sketching but then realized it would take too long so i opted for a silhouette technique i've been using for game sprites these past few months, and i'm glad i did! :)

so uh

i may be deviating from the hollow knight style a bit with this one lmao

I'm still really happy with how it turned out though! I loosely had in mind the Black Egg, those big ancient Abyss shells, and like some kind of infected ancient variation of a Kingsmould (making him the fifth kingsmould inspired hollowframe now lol, sorry they're cool and he has the cod piece for it). Kind of a mess of inspirations but I think it came together well enough visually

After getting feedback from DE, I went with the 4th one as the closer profile shot would work better for something as small as a glyph

The linework by far took the most time, but it paid off once I got to rendering! Having a single project I could focus all of my energy into after my growth from Tennotober was an amazing experience!!

Very interestingly DE actually wanted this drawing to be somewhat inspired by the work I did on Hollowframe (I KNOW RIGHT???), and they specifically had the Radiance in mind when thinking of the right feel for him, which was very fun to work in and slowly deviate from as I refined the drawing. if you told me two years ago that hollowframe would lead me to getting commissioned by warframe i wouldnt believe you but uhhhhhhhhh here we are i guess???

anyways that's all, ty again DE and the wonderful community team for giving me this opportunity and that honestly extends to this whole creator program deal as a whole!!

did some quick character concept sketches tonight for a college game project, idk if any of them will make it in but it was some fun practice anyways

tbh i probably shouldve just focused on getting more ideas on paper but i started having too much fun with the marker brush and shading them lol, i still only spent around 30 minutes on each tho which i'm happy with

you can kind of see the bits of improvement with each one left to right. i started with just slapping whatever on, then i took the loose clothing and vine forward onto the mouse, then i exaggerated elements and pose for the fox. character design is fun i should do it more often lol

I was actually working on hollowframe Qorvex when I saw your ask, so here's a wip screenshot of where it's at currently! Lot's of background shading and coloring to do still but it's coming along nicely

Anyways sorry about this but I'm gonna hijack this ask to talk about hollowframe for a bit under the read line cause now I'm in a real reminiscent mood lol just bear with me

This hollowframe project really has gotten so much bigger than I thought it ever would when I first started. It really was just an idea for a longer term project to keep myself drawing during my pandemic slump in 2021. It's really hard for me to believe that it's been two and half years since I started lol.

At first they were just gonna be simple like this

and then I kinda just kept adding detail and color and

now it's like

lol

For the longest while I tried to be as style accurate as possible to challenge myself with character design elements and techniques. That provided me such a good wealth of practice and the reception to it was crazy.

Once I had caught up to the most recent frame though I started abandoning full style accuracy as I pushed myself to practice more advanced styles and techniques while waiting in between new frame releases.

It's honestly such a cool feeling being able to trace a lot of my art progression within a single project, as silly as a cross over like this can feel like at times lol. It's so funny how hard it is to explain to people outside of the fandom how important hollowframe has been for me and the development of my other projects, I legit don't know where I'd be at without this thing and that is such a wonderfully absurd but awesome feeling

Anyways sorry again for hijacking your ask! I guess it's just still such a surreal thing to meet people online who are familiar with my work lol. Thank you!! :)
