"My mistake, four coffins."
I liked the part with the barrel.
A Fistful of Dollars basically defined an entire Western sub-genre, kicked off Clint Eastwood and Ennio Morricone's careers, and has been endlessly imitated and parodied for good reason.
Though I hear it was largely lifted from Yojimbo, which I haven't seen, the plot of a lone drifter playing two groups against each other and cleaning up the town makes for some compelling viewing. Eastwood excels in the role, and his interactions with the barkeep and gravedigger are so much fun.
The iconic Morricone score is so integral to the movie that it kicks in before the first shot appears on screen. The little flute stingers that accompany the stranger's key moments are a great touch.
Excellent camera-work throughout, especially the close-ups that accompany all the tense stand-offs. The framing on the quick draw shoot-outs was amazing too. I really enjoyed the way the gunfight at the cemetery was set at night, which is something I haven't often seen in a Western.
Iconic, influential, and very fun. A great movie.

YOJIMBO is TOSHIRO MIFUNE by KUROSAWA
There is only one fault to this movie. IT MUST BE SEEN. I plan to remedy that for you, if you haven't seen it already. Watch the film here in this blog and now. If you have seen it, watch again. The faultlessness of the setting (town) were the action takes place (on one street) is as close to perfection one can get without being god. When you mix Kurosawa with the direction and script and the interpretation of Toshiro Mifune, you can expect nothing less than near perfection. (Perfection will leave to god). Needless to say, I have seen more than several times this movie. Toshiro Mifune to me, is (he still lives in his films that he has given so much life too), the greatest actor that has ever lived.
Yojimbo (means in Japanese "Bodyguard") is a 1961 Japanese samurai film co-written, produced, edited, and directed by Akira Kurosawa and stars Toshiro Mifune.
In the film, a rōnin arrives in a small town where competing crime lords vie for supremacy. The two bosses each try to hire the newcomer as a bodyguard.

NOTES:
Yojimbo over the years, became widely regarded as one of the best films by Kurosawa and one of the greatest films ever made. It was unofficially remade by Sergio Leone as the Spaghetti Western film A Fistful of Dollars (1964), leading to a lawsuit by Toho.
