Today has been so long! Jungkook is beyond exhausted. He didn’t really want to be in the office at all today on top of it. He’s gotten used to working only 2 days in the office, and three at home due to his routine. The thought alone of his routine being disturbed pissed him off. Plus, He has been in serious work mode all week. He hasn’t even been able to just cuddle on the couch. You’ve been asleep the last 2 nights when he got home as well. Apparently, his employees can’t follow simple directions. He’s been stuck reprogramming a new app for what seems like forever. He swears if it didn’t pay the bills, and If he wasn’t so good at it- He’d find something else to occupy his time. He wishes he got paid for all the times you cross his mind, that would be a lot better than being here -and he’d be filthy rich!

As Jungkook reaches into his pocket for his phone to call you, someone else rips his chance from him.

You have got to be fucking kidding.

“Oh, um..Mr. Jeon I just wanted to ask is it okay if I leave early today?” His assistant asks him.

Jungkook has never been someone who was extremely strict. He knows he’s younger than most of the people working for him and he’s been cool about a lot of things because of that. However, that does not mean they can walk all over him. They take time away from you when they don’t do their job and also add more problems than solutions lately. He’s simply fed up.

“Go into the meeting room and call everyone there please Duri.” He asks nicely, even though he doesn’t know why he keeps being so kind about it.

“Oh…okay sir. Will do. But i-“

Jungkook really doesn’t care. He’s not trying to be mean but today has been a shit show. Things could be going better than this. That’s all he’s hoping for.

“Duri…tell them they have thirty minutes. That means you too.” He points to the door, sitting his feet up on his desk.

His assistant stares blankly, so Jungkook squints, points again and tilts his head.

“By the time you’re done looking at me…There will be zero minutes.” He exhales placing his hands behind his head, as he watches Duri run out.

Today you’ve decided to bring Jungkook lunch, he seemed so sluggish this morning. He gave you your good morning kisses but you can tell something is up. He didn’t even remember his banana milk. You’ve seen him do a lot of unusual things, but this weirdly enough takes the cake. The last time you even remember him acting like this, was when he swore he bombed an exam -He got the top score in his class, but that’s not the point. Jungkook genuinely only acts like this when there’s more work than he wants to do, or he feels burnt out. You know him the same way you know yourself, if not better. You have been thinking about him heavily today as well. You both could use a day off after this week, but life isn’t always that kind, you’ll just have to make do with your idea today.

You get dressed in a shirt of his since he likes you in them so much, a cute skirt and some shoes. Food and banana milk in tow, making sure you feed Bam on the way out.

Once you arrive you can hear him giving what may be a motivational speech in the conference room. Jungkook is so cool in your eyes. He has his own business at 23, which he started two years ago. His gym side-venture is thriving. You’re almost there with him but not quite yet, starting your own media company is in the works though, and it’s nice to have his support. It still amazes you how Jungkook can make his mind so quickly with business decisions. He’s really intelligent- that’s exactly what you love about him.

You realize you’ve been just standing in the entryway like a creep daydreaming about your boyfriend so you continue to walk forward and get closer to the door.

“Can someone explain to me why everyone thinks they can just leave early while I reprogram everything? “

Oh. That’s why he’s so tired.

You take note that no one responded, so there’s no reason he should have been left to do everything. He’s absolutely right. Your poor baby. you know how much of a perfectionist he is as well. He deserves some rest too though. You decide to keep listening.

“We’re supposed to be a team so I treat you fairly but this isn’t fair…I have someone waiting at home for me too.” He says.

That person is you- and that makes your heart do backflips, the butterflies in your tummy rise, and a smile creep upon your face. You now know why he’s been so out of it lately. He’s doing a lot of hard work, barely gets as much time home as his employees and he just misses spending time with you. You’ll definitely visit work more when he can’t be at home with you if it makes him feel better. You miss him too whenever you’re separated. It’s really refreshing to know he feels the same.

As for Jungkook. His heart is kind of heavy. He knows it hasn’t been that long but he’s really been stressed out lately, the past two weeks at work have been hell and he feels like he can’t catch a break. He just needs to be with you, somewhere he can relax. With someone who is his comfort place.

“Starting today we all do our delegated parts. I do mine. You do yours. We talk to each other about things beforehand that could affect other people’s schedules. Understood?” He asks. You can tell he doesn’t want to be that guy, but he also knows he’s been too nice until now.

“If you do your part I don’t care what you do afterward if you wanna go home so be it. But finish your task.”

He looks so withdrawn and tired. Watching everyone give him a head nod, you decide to just go sit in his office while he dismisses everyone.

He walks in completely irritated and immediately starts patting for his phone but then looks up to see you. Sitting on the loveseat in his office. Smiling and waving hello to him. The sun from the window lightly shines on you. You look like what you are- his angel.

“Hi, handsome!” You stand up and walk towards him.

“You’re really here? Like I’m not going crazy because I missed you?” He says waving his hand in his own face.

He’s always so silly. You hug his waist. Your face in his chest. He immediately hugs back. He doesn’t know how you knew he needed you, but he doesn’t care. He just appreciates the fact that you always show up for him. You always have.

“No, but you’re checking your hand silly to make sure you’re real. Instead, you should be kissing me to make sure I’m real…” you say peaking your head up and poking your lips out.

“Makes two of us! I brought you lunch and even brought my laptop too.…”

Jungkook sits in his office chair and you climb on his lap. Straddling him.

He immediately reaches for the remote that closes the blinds. Not that anyone can see his office from where they sit but just in case they thought of approaching him.

If these last two months taught you anything, Nothing beats waking up to Jungkook. He smells good, always showers you with kisses, makes you breakfast, and makes you feel safe and warm. Today you noticed he’s being extra affectionate- which almost seems impossible given who you’re talking about. You can’t complain though, It feels super nice to be desired all the time and It’s even better when the person loves you as equally as you love them.

“Wake up baby.” Jungkook plants a kiss on your collarbone.

“I am up. You’ve been kissing me everywhere for like 15 minutes straight. I was just enjoying it.” You reply with a grin creeping onto your face.

Once you open your eyes, you’re met with a shirtless Jungkook hovering over you. You drape your arms around his neck to be greeted by the biggest grin on his face.

“We have stuff to do today!” Jungkook states, his excitement evident.

You Just nod- You do recall him saying his mom asked for you both to visit this weekend. You’re not surprised either. Jungkook is a serious mama’s boy. You understand though. No one is as cool as Mrs. Jeon, but back to what’s right in front of you. World’s most perfect boyfriend.

“You’re so pretty at every hour of the day.” He says cupping your face.

How could you not want to wake up to this every day?

“I love you.” You state and he smiles.

“I love you too. Come on gorgeous, let’s start our day.”

You’re finally finished getting ready, and you can tell you look great because Jungkook can’t stop complimenting you.

“I have the hottest girlfriend ever.” He says and you smile.

You’ll never get tired of that either.

“I’m gonna put bam in the car, then I’ll be back up to help you carry anything you may be bringing.”

You nod. As he walks out, you check your outfit one more time. Your top is just a basic crop shirt, your jeans are snatching you in all the right places and you picked the best pair of sneakers to match. You look great and casual. You don’t know why you’re so nervous either, you’ve known his family your whole existence. You’re just going there in an elevated role in Jungkook’s life, you’re still the same person they’ve known.

“Ready baby?” Jungkook’s voice rips you out of your thoughts. You nod yes and turn to him.

“Let’s go.” You say and flash him a smile.

The car ride is almost a full two hours due to traffic, but Jungkook and you have been singing at the top of your lungs and pointing out the scenery on your way. He’s also been stealing kisses at every light and telling you how excited he is to see his family. You know Jungkook is his family’s shining star, so the feeling will be mutual for them. It always makes you smile to see them interact. Even more so, it makes you grateful to be cared about and included.

You notice you’re about 10 minutes away from his parent’s house, so you check the mirror and touch up your lip gloss.

“You look perfect baby, plus it’s just my family. You’ve known them forever.” He says gripping your thigh as he enters the driveway.

You gave yourself that pep talk earlier, it’s funny that it’s actually him saying it to you now- he’s right though!

“I know but I just can’t help the butterflies I feel.” You tell him truthfully

Jungkook parks the car and looks at you. “Are they because of me?” He says with a flirty smile.

They weren’t before but now…

“Yeah.” You say smiling at him.

“Yeah?” He asks one more time, raising an eyebrow still grinning and leaning in

But Bam’s barking interrupts you. -you almost forgot he was in the backseat. You both look and see he’s barking at Jin who is standing in the doorway.

“Come on pretty,” Jungkook says pecking your nose one more time as he opens the back door to let bam out-then yours. He makes sure he grabs your bag and his as well.

Jin is tackled by Bam before he can greet you both like he usually would. You would help him up but when Bam is this excited, there’s no stopping him.

“Have fun with that hyungie!” Jungkook states while smiling and laughing at his brother.

“There’s my sweetheart!!” Jungkook’s mom yells out of excitement as she comes to hug you.

“Hi, Mrs. Jeon I’ve missed you so much!” You hug her back. You see his dad approaching as well.

“Just so beautiful and youthful!” She says placing a hand on your shoulder delicately.

“Um, what about me?” Jungkook pouts.

“My handsome boy!!” She yells mimicking the excitement she had speaking to you, causing you to chuckle.

You hug Jungkook’s dad and so does he then his mom asks for your help in the kitchen while he takes the bags to his bedroom.

You and Jungkook’s mom have a great relationship. You always loved helping her cook dinner -one because Jungkook always comes into the kitchen super excited when dinner is done and, it taught you and Jungkook both how to cook. Secondly, nothing beats the little gossip sessions you always get to have with her before the boys come in.

You’ve been listening to her talk about Jin and his love life, she really wants to be a grandmother soon.

Mr. Jeon and Jin walk into the kitchen to sit in the bar area, so you guys stop the conversation- girl time is strictly girl time. Plus Jin would probably freak out and go on a rant about how having Jungkook as a little brother is room to not have a kid.

Everyone is just conversing and then Jungkook walks in.

“It’s so different being here instead of home isn’t it?” He says looking at you.

He’s so pretty. You nod your head in agreement.

“Oh, I knew there was something I wanted to ask about. We heard you moved back into the condo with Jungkook. What’s new with you since you’re single? Anyone pursuing our girl that I should be on standby about?” His dad asks.

Oh?

Single?

Last time you checked you’ve been in a relationship for two months…

You’re about to speak but someone beats you to it.

“Ahh, that’s why we are here!” Jungkook stands up and comes behind you moving the spatula you had in your hand and pulls you into him.

You tilt your head up at Jungkook furrowing your eyebrows- you’re still confused…

Didn’t his mom invite you guys?

She didn’t like Seojun, and from what you know about Mrs. Jeon, something you’ve known your whole life- she doesn’t pry too much unless it concerns someone’s overall well-being.

“I asked if we could come.” He says immediately looking down at you smiling. Rubbing his fingers over your eyebrows to smooth them down, a motion he does often. Telling you to stop worrying.

He also knows he would have been in for it if he was hiding the relationship from them.

“I wanted to tell everyone I have a girlfriend and that it’s someone everyone approves of.” He says pecking your lips.

“Mom, Dad..” He says looking up at them proudly with the biggest grin. Then he looks at you in the eyes.

“This is my girlfriend, She’s super smart, kind, and takes good care of me. I like taking care of her too. You guys will definitely approve” He says as if they don’t know you- he’s so cute. You can tell it was important to him to make an announcement in person. Which makes you feel good too.

Leave it to Jungkook to find a way to be outrageously cute.

“That is great news! Congratulations to you both!” Mr. Jeon says smiling widely

“Finally, now I can stop acting like I don’t know,” Jin says taking a sip of water, before he and Jungkook wink and send each other finger pistols.

“Sorry, it took so long for me to tell you,” he says once he realizes Jin just exposed what he knew first.

His mom? She’s super quiet…

“It has to be the best day of our lives…” She finally says.

“As parents, all we have ever wanted was for you to bring someone that’s at least half of her standard home…but it’s actually the best news I could ask for as your mom! My beautiful son has found an equally beautiful person.” She says grabbing your hand and nodding in approval.

“ And the best part is, she was here all along,” Jungkook says as he goes to embrace his mom.

“Let’s drink!” Mr. Jeon says excitedly.

You smile. This is your family too, always has been. You love it here.

After a few drinks and eating together, you’re all sitting around telling stories.

“Who said the L word first?” His dad asks - he looks like he’s invested in the newest rom-com.

Jungkook smiles “Me! Do you know how long I waited to tell her? Practically my whole life.”

His dad just smiles and nods. “I was always telling your mom you both were completely smitten over each other. I’m glad to be right.”

“I said it first, I know our son!” She says lightly slapping his shoulder.

They’ve always been so playful with each other. You hope you and Jungkook stay like that too.

You all continue to play games and drink. Bam of course is making his presence known every few seconds he goes without attention from you and Jungkook.

Jungkook can tell you’re getting sleepy as you lean your head onto his shoulder while everyone continues to play the board game.

He tilts your head up with his finger under your chin.

“We can go to sleep after this, okay?” You smile lightly and kiss his dimple.

“Okay.”

“Goodnight everyone!” You yell as you and Jungkook walk up to his bedroom.

“Goodnight, see you in the morning for breakfast.” His parents say in response.

You’re so damn lucky you think to yourself. You already know what you’re walking into when you’re here and it’s one of the most comfortable atmospheres to be apart of, just like when you were younger.

Once you finally change into your pajamas and crawl into bed, you watch Jungkook remove his shirt and change into sweatpants before joining you. You immediately scoot closer to him

He looks you in the eyes as he brushes your hair out of your face.

“What are you thinking about baby girl?” He asks

“I haven’t been in your room in what feels like forever. Do you remember when we snuck out to that party in 9th grade? We really thought no one would notice us trying to climb into the window” You smile, tracing his tattoos as you lay your head on him.

“Yeah I do, I wanted to confess to you that night. I was so mad that we got in trouble. It ruined my proposal.”

“Oh yeah? How would you have told me?” You say and look into his eyes. After all these years, they still have that pure, one-of-a-kind sparkle- always tugging at your heart.

“Now that we are older. I was gonna ask in such a lame way. I prepared one of those singing cards that played a song and the ending just was me saying ‘Ahhh___ I like you. So like me back please’ ” You both laugh.

“I liked you then too. I would have said yes” You say reassuring him and his card idea from back then.

You both stare at each other, enjoying the silence but comfortable aura surrounding you.

You then notice Jungkook is thinking about something.

“Kook? What’s up?” You say lifting your head some more.

“About earlier, I’m sorry for not telling you baby. I just wanted to have a bragging moment.” He says smiling.

“Bragging?” You say and he nods his head confirming.

“Yeah. I didn’t mean for it to take you by surprise… it’s just that I have the prettiest, smartest, loyal, hard-working, sexy, fun, and loving girlfriend ever. Of course, It needed a big announcement. I brought the love of my life home with me.“ Jungkook’s cheeks are slightly red from the blush creeping up on them

You’re sure you look the same as you hover over him and kiss him.

“You’re always making me feel special,” you say. Jungkook feels his heart start to beat out of his chest.

“That’s all I wanna do.” He says reassuring you, leaning up into the kiss before he pulls you down with him.

“We aren’t home.” You remind him and he smirks.

“ I was going to behave, I promise.” He says as you reach to turn the light off.

“Let’s get some sleep.” You say nuzzling into his neck, but not before he can plant the soothing kiss on your lips.

“I love you, Goodnight princess.”

“I love you more, Goodnight baby.”

You and Jungkook fall asleep in the same room you used to when you were younger. You’re so happy that the same arms you get to wake up to are holding you as you slumber. You’re even more grateful his family took the news well. You had a really great day, and it’s all because Jungkook never falls short.

You make a promise to yourself to always make sure to treat him just as beautifully as he treats you.

After Last Night: THE MISSING PICTURE

Pairing: best friend to lovers// established relationship, Jungkook X female reader

Summary: you’re missing the most important item you own and there’s only one place it could be, only if you’re timing was better…

A/N: This takes place AFTER the FIRST ALN chapter, you can catch up on the rest of it here ...

Warnings: cursing, arguing, cheating (not JK), a little angst, mentions of death, a little dive into why Jimin is the best big brother- sad upbringing, SEOJUN, toxic ex-partner, not a warning but my baby Oc stands up for herself!!! Not as much JK this time, but of course he is here and the next chapter is a flashback- so he will have more time. Lastly, the Jeons are good people :)

“And done.” You sigh as you finish putting your last sweater on a hanger. Smoothing the shoulders of it down and looking at the closet one last time. Jungkook has been helping you unpack, it feels just like when you first moved in and signed the lease together, except this time you are sharing his bedroom. He thinks it’s better this way- and he’s right. It is better waking up to him in the morning than knocking on his door. It’s nice waking up to someone who reciprocates your feelings.

Jimin and the boys were sweet enough to get everything from the house for you. According to your brother’s recap of events, It wasn’t pretty. The back and forth between him and your ex must have been a bit much, so you’re relieved you weren't there. However, You need to eventually drop off your copy of the key. You would tell him why you left, but he doesn’t deserve to act all oblivious. You’re enjoying being yourself. No patience for his bullshit- It's hard to believe you ever had time for it in the first place.

You’re back to the simple life. You've had the freedom to be with Jungkook whenever you want, without any arguments, or screaming. Most importantly, you feel valued. It's surprising how you never thought about the good times you missed out on. Regardless of everything, you couldn't be more grateful for your current situation.

you feel relieved.

Jungkook feels like home, not a house. That should say It all.

“Thanks for helping me unpack,” you say, flopping onto the bed next to Jungkook, who pulls you into his arms.

"Anything for you, my angel.”

You’re fucking whipped. He’s so dreamy.

“I love looking at you.” - and whenever he says stuff like this, You melt.

Jungkook is telling the truth. Only part of it though- he not only loves looking at you, but loves you entirely.

You push some of his hair back and kiss his forehead.

“You’re so sweet. Do you have any plans today?” You ask and he nods.

He did mention earlier he wanted to stop by the gym.

“ I promised some of the kids there that we would do the punching bag today, but I promise not to take long.” He comforts you as he runs his hands up and down your sides.

“Take as much time as you need, I’ll be here.”

“Okay. Give me one more kiss?”

He’s so cute- how could you tell him no? So you plant a kiss right on his lips, making sure not to get too carried away.

“Come on. Up you go. You have kids to go help out.” You say and he playfully rolls his eyes.

“You’re right, send me pictures while I’m gone if you and Bam do anything cute ”

He’s a simp too.

That reminds you though…

“Oh wait kookie, speaking of pictures …have you seen the picture of all of us anywhere while unpacking?”

“That one? No, I haven’t. Have you called your brother to see if he has it?” He asks you which makes you wonder why you didn’t start there in the first place. Jimin did go retrieve your things, so maybe he has it.

“I will, that’s a smart idea. Make sure to hydrate at the gym and I’ll see you when you get back.” You say as your lips connect for one more kiss and Jungkook makes his way to the door.

You need that picture. It’s the last one of everyone together.

So you pick up your phone and dial your brother’s number.

“It’s about time my baby sister called me. Here I thought Kook was holding you hostage.”

“Haha Jimin, not funny.”

“Love you.”

“Love you, have you seen that picture of our families together? I searched every box and unpacked but I didn’t see it. “ you question him, hoping he has the answer you’re looking for.

“Actually no, I also didn’t see it in your house now that you say it. Hobi, Namjoon, and I went there but, that’s the one thing we never came across.“

Fuck.

You’re gonna have to go by the house. That is the last thing you want to do, but the last thing your heart can take is not having the last picture of you and your family together one last time.

Maybe you should call Jungkook? But you don’t want him to worry.

You look at the time on the clock.

Technically you do need to return the key anyway and at this hour… Seojun should be at the office.

It would be the perfect time to go search yourself.

So you feed Bam, Tidy up the little things, grab your keys, and make your way to your car.

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

The car ride is silent and your stomach starts to ache. For some reason, you want to call Jungkook, but you also know you need to find it quietly and leave. Then you’ll never have to go back there.

You’ll never have to be in a space that makes your skin crawl again.

This is the last time.

This is the last time and you can do it because you’re going there for something that is rightfully yours.

Nothing else.

You finally arrive at your destination, You don’t see Seojun’s car which is a good thing and you don’t plan on being here long either.

You can do this.

So you approach the door to your old building. Your code still works too.

“Here goes.” You say to yourself as you finally step into the elevator.

As you turn the key and step foot into your old apartment. You remove your shoes by the door and take a step forward into the living room.

Weird… The picture should have been on the coffee table if it wasn’t in your room.

So you go search there too.

After thirty minutes of damn near flipping the apartment upside down, you decide to check Seojun’s drawer when a voice stops you in your tracks. Burning your ears as you hear the footsteps get closer.

“Want to tell me why you’ve been avoiding me like the plague?”

No, you don’t. But you turn around to look at the disappointment that won’t stop demanding answers. You’re not even together anymore.

You’re met with a super smug Seojun. He looks like hell.

Good. you think to yourself.

“Seojun cut the bullshit, it’s been how many days and you called what 3 times?” You say crossing your arms over your chest.

“I mean I’ve been worried sick. I knew you’d come back for something though. Jimin couldn’t find everything right?” He says waving the picture you’ve been looking for all day in his hand.

“Give me that. Now.” You say, words becoming serious.

“Answer my question first baby.” He smiles but it’s condescending.

He’s such a piece of shit.

“I’m not your fucking baby. I want my photo. You know exactly what it means to me. So stop and give it to me.”

“What? Gonna call your brother or that new boy toy of yours. You think I don’t know. How long were you fucking before you decided to move out?”

“I said no more questions. Give me my damn photo.” you’re better than this. Better than him.

“Need Jimin to answer that for you? Treating your brother like a lapdog. Make him run your errands., confront your problems. You’re telling me to cut the bullshit, what about you?”

That’s enough. You’re not here to play his game.

“ You want answers? Fucking fine. I didn’t sleep with Jungkook at all while I was with you, because I’m not a piece of shit like you."

your tone has changed tremendously. From trying to be cordial to full-blown irritation.

“I’m a piece of shit? No. You are. Why did you have your brother come to break up with me for you? That’s the only reason I knew you were okay. That and fucking Jungkook’s social media story of him you and bam. I thought I told you to stop going over there."

He’s talking like he made you. Like he has control…

The audacity.

“My brother didn’t come to do shit! I hang out with whomever I want, You’re not my boyfriend anymore! There. Happy I’ve told you? Now fucking move, it’s not like we were even romantic with each other, we didn’t go on dates or spend time. Why are you acting like a bitch because someone doesn’t want you? I’m asking you nicely for something that belongs to me. Please give me my photo”

If there’s anything Seojun does well- it’s manipulating the situation.

You don’t want to give in and let him know he’s getting under your skin but at the same time…You have to stand up for yourself.

“Look at you. you’re only worked up because Jungkook is in it anyway.”

He’s such an asshole.

“You know why I want that picture. Stop it.” You say one last time

The photo in question is one of the last pictures you have of your family together before all the arguing. Times were rough and you remember at twelve years old, not understanding why it all came crashing down so fast.

Yes, you have your mom still, and she’s a great woman. You would never take that from her…but it’s not the same as someone being there every day and then only seeing them on the weekends - then barely seeing them at all. Words can barely explain how bad the fighting was but if you had to choose a few ways to describe it - always loud, always made you cry, always resorted to you and Jimin taking late night walks- way too young, just to get peace. Often resorted in you asking to stay with the Jeon’s in advance because you knew what you were coming home to.

When you were younger, It got to the point where Mrs.Jeon just simply gave you a key in case nights were too much. 1 month before Jimin’s 15th birthday- your mom had moved back in with your grandmother ‘just for peace’ and then one day she was getting remarried- She left Jimin and you had to stay with your dad. She stopped visiting as much, her calls were less frequent. It took a while for you and your mom to get back to having a healthy relationship, and although you guys get along now, it’s not perfect.

Other people in that picture went out of their way to make you feel like you were a part of something- part of a family. Mr. And Mrs. Jeon never hesitated to take care of you and Jimin. They helped you work through your feelings. Helped you not resent everyone and everything around you. They let you be a kid when they were around. So even though Jungkook is in the picture, it’s much deeper than him.

It’s also the last picture you took before your dad passed. He had gotten too sick, and before you knew it- Jimin had to become the man of the house. Your brother worked throughout high school just to make sure you never went without anything, he never wanted his sister to feel less than anyone because of something out of your control. It’s not your fault your mom and dad couldn’t see eye to eye, it’s not your fault your dad got sick, it’s not your fault that you didn’t have things as easy as others- Jimin made sure he did everything he could to make sure you knew, and even if for a slither of a second you weren’t having the greatest day; He would do anything you wanted just to see you smile. So yeah, It’s one of the last pictures before you and Jimin get your innocence stripped away from you, but it contains the people who uplifted you and have always treated you like family as well. It serves as a reminder to treat people kindly while they are here because you never know when you won’t have them anymore.

-And all this information Seojun knew. You trusted him with it. so his comment wasn’t fair.

“And you know why I want an answer…” he raises his voice.

“Shut up Seojun. Why are you trying to even hold a picture hostage? Why keep something to have me come back when you know you’re wrong?”

“I’ve never done anything to deserve this. ___ you could have come to me like an adult.”

“ An adult?! Be fucking serious with yourself … you wanna know why I left you?”

“That’s what im asking aren’t I?”

He keeps acting like you owe it to him. So you give him exactly what he wants.

You step closer. Face to face with the scum of a man you’re grateful you left behind.

“You really are pathetic. A fucking horrible liar.” The words fly from your mouth with zero hesitancy.

You uncross your arms and poke him in his chest as you continue.

“I deserved better. I deserved someone who feels like home and that’s exactly what Jungkook is. Everything you’re not.” You tell him. Not breaking eye contact. It’s your turn to make him feel small.

“Oh please, you’ll do anything to make people feel bad for you. You enjoy playing the victim. Just admit it.”

As if he has room?

“I’m not the one who forgot how to be honest, nor would I have treated you the way you treated me. Shit’s embarrassing. Admit that” you say not moving one bit

“What are you even talking about_____?”

“You think I didn’t know? You think you’re so fucking smart, don’t you? Let me humble you and make you feel as dumb as you made me look. I have defended every single thing you have ever done to me. Too scared to let people be disappointed in me. In you- because you were also their friend. I have spent countless nights wondering when you were coming home, cutting off people I love because I wanted to try to see you happy…"

He takes a deep breath. Almost as if he was hoping it would make you stop, but You’re not letting up.

"…You know how annoying it is to stroke that gigantic ass ego of yours? You think you have life figured out and get frustrated when everyone realizes it’s a facade. The only reason I even stayed with you is because I felt bad giving up on you. Proving that you aren't a good person isn’t in my character. You managed to do that all on your own. You were my friend too or did you forget that the moment you got your dick wet with your fucking assistant?!“ The words pour from your mouth, laced with venom.

You watch his mouth form an O shape and decide he still hasn’t had enough.

“_____”

“Shut up! You wanna know what else I think? You’ve always been jealous of Jungkook because he has all the love you wish you had organically and not just from me- from everyone. He doesn’t have to pretend to be a good person. He just is. I brought you lunch that day and saw her bent over on your desk. That’s when I chose myself. Not anyone else or you - but my fucking self!”

Seojun is still wide-eyed, in disbelief like he can’t believe someone is telling him about himself without lying to him. But that’s not your fault, you’re not his parent, and you’re damn sure not his girlfriend.

“____ I need to explain. So sit…so I can talk” He says reaching for your hand, Is he attempting damage control? Fuck that- he’s still not letting go of your picture.

You’ve had enough.

All the weight of your emotions find a place in your hand, as your palm reaches up, Delivering a loud smack across his face.

“I’m not a damn dog first of all. Don’t tell me to sit. Secondly, Don’t fucking touch me! if you haven’t noticed, It’s your turn to be told what to do. As far as Jungkook goes- keep his name out of your mouth. You and I both know that is not a fight you want. And before you start asking me more fucking questions, trying to play guilty. You’re the reason I left you. Even now, you won’t own up to half the shit you have done. You’re a bitch. A fucking terrible excuse for a man. The difference between you and me? I can admit the truth. I knew a while ago I didn’t love you in the way I should, but because I thought you were my friend, I kept trying.”

“You don’t mean that ___ “ he sighs and looks down at his feet

“The fucking nerve you have! Can’t even make eye contact. I don’t care for what you have to say because I’m choosing me over whatever your definition of ‘us’ was, I’m over this damn house, and especially over you!”

“Here…” he says sticking his hand out that holds the photo you’ve been asking about.

You take it in your hands and look at him one last time in the eye.

“If you ever try and hold anything of mine, grab me or even contact me again. I’ll make sure you deal with Jungkook since you seem to be more fascinated with him than me.”

It’s a promise - and a threat.

You push past him bumping his shoulder, making your exit . You mutter one last thing that he happens to catch, deflating his ego one final time.

“Such a fucking loser.” You scoff and throw the key to the once-shared apartment on the floor.

“Your home! I got you dinn-“

Jungkook watches you sit straight on the floor and sees the picture in your hand. His angel looks …defeated. So instead of saying anything he just sits on the floor behind you. Holding you close. While your tears fall

“It’s okay baby. Breathe and talk to me.” He says softly

“I stood up for myself. These are happy tears” You try and smile at him but he knows you better than that.

Jungkook has put two and two together but just for clarification, he asks anyway.

“You went to Seojun’s? Did he hurt you?”

“H-He tried to hold my picture hostage” you confirm.

Jungkook’s jaw clenches but he knows this isn’t the time to be hostile. You need affection. so he continues stroking your hair and lets you turn your face in his chest as your tears fall.

“I’m sorry baby.” That is all he can manage to say before he feels his eyes get a little teary as well. Your dad was a great father to you and he knows how much you struggled with his death. He was there for it all. The tears, the pain. As for Jungkook- He still loved you. Even when you didn’t know how to process your emotions. Even if you lashed out at him. He’d never leave nor would he try and use it against you to make you stay. That’s what real love is. He remembers the day it felt like you got your life back. It’s been a while since he’s seen you look so upset.

He just rocks you back and forth until you calm down and you finally look up and say “Thank you.”

“You don’t have to thank me for anything baby. I love you. Im always here for you.” He says planting a kiss on your forehead

“That’s exactly why I am saying thank you.”

Jungkook’s heart feels like it’s beating out of his chest. You’re always so strong and kind. He’s the one who should be thanking you. So he just squeezes you a little tighter.

“Can I ask how it went?” He looks down at you and you exhale.

You start to ramble on about the encounter. Jungkook keeps his cool but he knows when he lays eyes on Seojun - there won’t be as much conversation as you had with him.

“I called him a bitch. Should have seen his face!” You say and your tone has a bit more enthusiasm. Jungkook can’t help but smile. He’s really glad you were able to stand up for yourself. Sad he wasn’t there to kick his ass but nevertheless...

“Sticking up for yourself, that’s my girl.” He says kissing your forehead.

You smile and turn to kiss him fully.

“ I almost forgot to tell you…I love you too.” You say. Locking eyes with him and kissing him once more

Jungkook scoops you up bridal style. Making Sure he grabs the family photo too.

“Let’s get washed up and watch some TV. Yeah?” He asks

“Yeah.”

Jungkook showers first then lets you go relax and destress next.

Once you exit, You notice the picture is placed on the nightstand, on your side of the room.

Then you feel a warm embrace around you.

“Figured my angel should get to see her angel in the morning. I know he’d be proud of you.” He says kissing the top of your head.

“I hope so… "

You say and smile.

" …Thank you kookie, for everything.”

“Anytime baby.” He reassures you.

“You said we would cuddle.” You state, turning to looking him in the eye

Jungkook chuckles. You’re so cute. Just his type, just for him.

“Come here, you big baby.” He says smothering you in kisses, watching you giggle as he pulls you into his arms.

You’ve said it before and you’ll say it again- you’re really happy to be home and most importantly you’re happy that Jungkook is always here with you.

A perfect way to end your stressful day...
