Yes, Pearl and Marina decimated Frye and Shiver in that rap battle—and yes, Marina recognized what was going on and knew what Shiver was doing and played accordingly. She is 23 years old and, as Pearl said, has a big mind—she knew she was in a rap battle, and Shiver getting increasingly irritated to the point of trying to end it with Marina giving the classic sassy "I can do this all night" proves it.
But I digress.
Yes, Off the Hook won that battle handily. But that doesn't mean that Shiver and Frye are bad at what they do.
It just shows their inexperience.
Compared to Squid Sisters and Off the Hook, Deep Cut is pretty much still an indie band. They're really only known within the Splatlands, and only reached the level of fame needed to take over Anarchy Splatcast a couple years before Splatoon 3. And that's fine, I'm not dissing them—but it means that they don't really know what it is to work within the broader music industry as a whole, or go up against musicians who have experience working on a world stage. Shiver and Frye feel threatened by Off the Hook performing in Splatsville because they feel as though Off the Hook could replace them, despite the fact that Off the Hook is famous enough to have done a world tour and this is a single drop in the bucket to them. Not to mention, Pearl has close to a decade of experience as a musician by now. Frye does not. So for Frye to step to her . . . no wonder she got stomped. This isn't Pearl's first rap battle and it won't be her last.
Of course, not all the members of Deep Cut show this inexperience. Big Man knows there is a lot to be learned from seniors in the music industry, as shown by his collab with Squid Sisters and how he was "awestruck" by Off the Hook and didn't participate in Shiver and Frye's confrontation.
But Shiver and Frye's inexperience IS showing here. They have so much skill and talent! But if they want to go beyond Splatsville, they need to grow up a bit and not pointlessly pick fights with those who could help them. Picking a fight with Off the Hook in particular is silly af, because they LOVE collabing with less known artists to give them a boost, as seen with their Damp Socks collab. This didn't have to happen at all, but Shiver and Frye picked a fight, Pearl and Marina finished it, and, well. They got served the dish they asked for.
(But in the end it was still a collab, so maybe it'll still help in a roundabout way.)

Tumblr media
The smog of London filled the air – and your chest – turning the world around you grey, a chill ran through the night air causing you to shiver but that was nothing compared to the racing of your heart. Your heart was beating so fast that you were afraid that it would burst out of your chest. Trailing behind Evie, you anxiously bit at your lip as you noticed how tense her body was.
As you rode the small boat over the murky waters of the Thames, you tried calling out to Evie but your voice got lost in the howling wind. You glanced over at Evie’s face and even after assassinating Lucy Thorne there was no sign of regret in her eyes. However, when she looked over at you, her hazel eyes hardened and it was difficult to believe that this was the same woman – your best friend – who had joked with you as you shared a pint the night before.
“Evie,” you started, feeling the guilt close around your heart as you neared the Frye’s train.
A furious look crossed Evie’s freckled face as she whipped around to look at you, “when were you ever going to tell us?!” she waved her arms around like a mad woman. You sighed and fiddled with your fingers as you looked at your feet upon the filthy floor, “you were never going to tell us were you?” Evie whispered and you looked back up at her, her face was impassive, she was good at hiding her feelings when she was hurt, “you’re supposed to be my friend.”
“Evie, how was I supposed to tell you? Please, let me explain,” you begged, your heart feeling heavy as your eyes filled with tears and you reached out for her. Your heart splitting when she backed away. It wasn’t supposed to end up this way.
“I should kill you right now!”
“That’s a good point, why haven’t you? You’ve had plenty of chances, you could have killed me along with Lucy, or on the way back here.”
Evie rolled her eyes like the reason was obvious, “because Jacob has feelings for you, you know that and if I killed you there would be no way that Jacob would believe me about who you really are. I’d lose him forever, so you’re going to tell Jacob the truth, if you don’t then I will. He can decide what to do with you, I’m done with you,” she snarled before retreating into the train.
You sighed, running your hands through your hair, you were very worried about what was to come, “what the hell is the matter with Evie? Other than the usual,” Jacob, Evie’s twin brother – and your lover – chuckled as he met you on the train’s platform.
His handsome face made your heart stop and a wave of sadness washed over you as you glanced up at him. The smile on Jacob’s face dropped.
“Are you alright, love?” he asked as he cupped your cheek, his hazel eyes scanning over your face as he brushed his lips against yours.
His concern almost made you cry but you managed to smile as you rested your hands on his firm chest, “we um need to talk, there’s something that I need to tell you,” you hesitating, clearing your throat, “can we go for a drink?”
Jacob raised a scarred eyebrow as he gestured to the inside of the train, “you realise that we have a small pub right here on the train where the beer is free?” he chuckled.
When you told Jacob the truth, you didn’t want to be on a train surrounded by Rooks and Assassins, “I want to be alone with you.”
Jacob grumbled and complained but eventually, he agreed and you found a small pub in White Chapel. Jacob took a sip of his beer and his handsome face was full of worry as he looked over at you, “really, are you alright, Y/N?”
With an aching heart, you leaned over the table to kiss him gently, he deserved to know, no matter how scared you were. When you sat back, he took your hands in his big ones, “I saw Evie assassinate Lucy Thorne,” you sighed, taking a huge swallow of your beer.
Jacob frowned as he rubbed his thumb over your hand, “why were you there? You’re a Rook, not an assassin.”
You closed your eyes, this was it, “I was there because,” you hesitated, “I’m a Templar, Crawford Starrick is my father.”
At once, Jacob’s face changed, he dropped your hand and went for his blade, quick as a flash, you slammed Jacob’s hand down on the table, making him drop his weapon, “I need to explain, let me explain.”
His face faltered slightly before his lip curled with disgust and he snarled at you, “you have 2 minutes, better make it good or I won’t hesitate to kill you.”
“When you and your sister began killing off his Templars, he started to get scared, I was over in America on a job so he sent for me. To find you and Evie,” you bit your lip, “you two are too trusting, it wasn’t hard to join the Rooks, nobody knows who I am. Except for my father and his employees.”
“So you lied to us? Betrayed us? You’ve failed in your mission because my sister and I are still kicking,” hurt flashed in his eyes before they were clouded over by anger once more and you hated yourself for hurting him.
“Jacob,” you reached out to him and he let you take his hand, a stark contrast to his sister, but maybe he was still in shock, “I was biding my time, I didn’t want to be too hasty, and then I fell in love with you. My father made out like you were my enemies but you just want to create a better London, I was so blinded by my father. The night that I stopped being a double agent for my father was the morning you took me to watch the sunset on the top of Big Ben, that was the when I fell in love with you Jacob. I love you. If I wasn’t at the White Tower, Lucy Thorne would have grown suspicious, I had no choice.”
Jacob sat back, letting go of your hand and he drained the last of his beer before slamming the glass back down on the table and throwing a couple of gold coins into the middle of the table, “that’s a nice story, Y/N, and I must admit, you had me and Evie fooled. But it doesn’t change what you are, who you are, you’re still a Templar. So, what you are going to do is get your things from the train and take a ship back to America, I never want to see you again, ever,” he sniffed, his eyes glistening with tears as he got up from the table and stalked out of the pub.
Tears streamed down your face and over your lips as you watched the most beautiful man walk away from you, you should have known that Evie would have come after Lucy Thorne. Your father had ruined everything. Your heart was broken and you were one for doing crazy things when you were hurt, so you had to do it. You created the plan, the plan to kill your father, it would take the kill away from the Frye twins but it would be the best plan for London. For everyone. For Jacob.

Assassin-To-Be (Assassin’s Creed Syndicate AU)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Assassin!Luke x Reader (1880's Victorian London)
Words: 7300+
Author's Note: so, a few months ago I decided to do an Assassin's Creed Syndicate AU with Luke. Cause his fake death scene in No Shame made him look like an assassin sneaking around. This is my masterpiece. I love it. I hope you do too.
A few things to cover- Templar's are a group of bad people. Starrick is the head boss of the Templar's in London and they're trying to find the Shroud. Which is a giant scarf that provides the person wearing it immortality. Blighters are a gang that works for the Templars.
You and Jack finally moved into the small apartment the two of you have been looking at since you arrived in London.
Although, since you moved here you've noticed Jack's been a bit distant. He hasn't really shown any affection towards you in almost two weeks.
You studied him for days, noticing him coming home late from work more frequently. You sometimes even stayed out late yourself, just to see if he cared. He didn't.
-
The curly blonde shivers as the wind smack him in the face while stepping off of the boat. His blue eyes look around the area before a sigh escapes his lips. "Here we go," he mumbles and heads towards the stone stairs that lead to the streets.
Henry Green and two other assassins, Jacob and Evie Frye, stand at the top of the stairs and watch the Australian make his way towards them.
"This is the guy?" A scruffy English voice asks and Henry looks over at Jacob.
"Yeah. This is the guy. Luke Hemmings. The best assassin in Australia. He's a key to stopping the Templars."
-
You were heading home from your day at Alexander Graham Bell's shop, always intrigued in watching him work. You met him during your shopping one day, literally running into him and dropping all the vegetables you had in your arms. Since then the two of you have become quite good friends, spending most of your days with him.
You wrap your shawl around your shoulders, shivering at the chilly wind as you walk down the dim streets. You made it to your apartment an hour later and you just couldn't wait to slip into bed.
"Jack! I'm home," you call out while closing the front door behind you. A woman's moan stops you in your tracks and you look towards your bedroom. "Jack?"
You walk towards the bedroom and a gasp leaves your lips upon seeing your boyfriend fucking another woman. Both of them look over at you, Jack's eyes becoming wide as he pulls away from the other woman.
"Y/N-"
"Fuck you," you mutter, feeling the tears come to your eyes as you swallow the lump in your throat. "You're such a fucking cunt I don't know why I stayed with you."
You're seething as you slap him across the face, huffing, and puffing before walking out of your apartment. You cross your arms over your chest as you make your way to the hotel that's a few blocks down the street.
You sniffle while walking down the uneven cobblestone street, being careful not to hurt yourself. You're wiping the tears off your face when a man comes out from an alley beside you.
"Hello, sweetness. Aren't you a cute little thing," his thick accent compliments and you go to move around him when his hand stops you, grabbing ahold of your wrist. "Hold on, I'm not done with you."
You begin to struggle in his grip as he tugs you into the alley before pressing you against the wall. "Please," you beg, wanting to get away from him and he laughs wickedly, one of his hands grabbing my breast. You cry out, doing everything in your power to get away from the man dressed in red. "Stop!"
Luke was running along the rooftops when he heard your voice. He stops in his tracks, skidding along the damp rooftops before heading closer towards your screams. The blonde peeks over the side, seeing a blighter try to assault you in a sexual way.
He growls a bit, growing hatred towards the man in question. Luke flicks out his hidden blade before jumping down from the roof, landing on top of the blighter.
The man lets out a groan as Luke kneels above him, his hidden blade embedded in his chest. "Scum," he whispers harshly before pulling the blade out, seeing the life drain from the blighter's eyes.
You watch with wide eyes before moving away from the wall, needing to get away from here. You end up tripping over your feet, falling to the ground and Luke looks up at you. He takes a step towards you and you pant heavily while backing away from him.
Luke puts his hands up as you continue to scurry away from him on the damp sidewalks. "Hey, hey," he mutters and crouched slightly, "I'm not gonna hurt you. I promise."
You stare up at the hooded man, your chest heaving rapidly. "W-Who are you?" You ask him as he pushes the black hood off of his head, exposing the blonde curls underneath it.
"I'm Luke. Luke Hemmings."
"You...you killed that man," you remind him and his blue eyes dart towards the now dead blighter on the ground.
He scratches the back of his head, his curls swaying in the London breeze. "Yeah, yeah. I did," Luke mumbles and rubs his hands together. "To be fair-"
"To be fair?!" You draw out, cutting him off from speaking with wide eyes. "What justification is there for killing a man?!"
The blonde sighs and looks over your facial features, noticing the terrified look in your eyes. "Yes. When he's working for a sick man and for trying to take advantage of a beautiful woman, like yourself," he explains, and your mouth parts slightly.
"Okay… you're not wrong there, I guess." You breathe out as your cheeks become a bit red.
Luke lets out a chuckle and holds out a hand for you to grab. You look up at him before darting your eyes towards his hand for a moment. "C'mon," he class and tilts his head to the side, "you can trust me."
You nod your head and grab a hold of his hand. Luke pulls you off the ground and you wipe the dirt and mud off the back of your dress the best you could.
"Thank you, Luke," you mumble and he grins, nodding his head.
"Not a problem, love. Just doing my job more or less," he shrugs and you hum in response.
"What is your job? If you don't mind me asking," you question him and Luke sighs slightly before looking around. "Wha-"
"Hold onto me," he states and your eyes widen. You try to form a sentence when Luke takes a step towards you. "If you want to know my job, you'll grab a hold of me."
You swallow thickly and nod once, reaching out to wrap your arms around his neck. Luke raises his hand in the sky and your eyes move to it when a metal wire shoots out from the gauntlet that's on his hand. A scream leaves your lips as the two of you thrust into the air, Luke's hand gripping onto you tightly.
The two of you land onto the roof and you hold your hands out to balance yourself, eyes wide as you glance down. "What the…?" You mumble and look back over at Luke, looking over the clothes he was wearing.
The trench coat has blue accents in it and seems to split into two once it goes past his ass. Under the trench coat was a navy blue vest that was tucked into his high waisted pants with a collared shirt that was slightly unbuttoned. The gauntlet on his arm shines in the moonlight as it stops just below his elbow. Even looking at him you had no idea who he was.
"I'm… I'm an assassin," he informs you while motioning towards the clothes he was wearing. You stare at him with wide eyes for what feels like the millionth time before shaking your head.
"This is crazy," you whisper to yourself and run your fingers through your hair, "t-th-there's no way you're an assassin. That's not… that's not a thing."
Luke let's out a laugh and rests his hands on his hips. "It's real. I'm standing right in front of you. There are three other assassins that are living in a train in London," he tells you and you're in utter shock.
"Wow…" you whisper and tucks a strand of hair behind your ear. "So, uhm, you plan to get me down right?"
He grins widely and nods his head. "Of course. I'm not going to leave you stranded up here," he chuckles and wraps his arm around your waist again.
You grip onto his trench coat, watching him as he points his hand towards a five-foot bring wall. You try to keep in the scream, but it comes out anyway. A laugh leaves your lips afterward as the wind flows through your dark hair.
Your feet connect with the ground and you stumble a bit, grabbing a hold of him to keep my footing. "Okay, I gotta say… that's fun?" It comes out like a question and you chuckle.
Luke smiles down at you, admiring the look on your face. He found you to be really cute, the entire time you were holding onto him he couldn't stop inhaling the perfume you were wearing. You smell like flowers. He swallows thickly and places a hand on your forearm.
"Why were you out so late?" He asks in concern and the smile drops from your face.
"Uhm, my now ex-boyfriend was making love to someone else in our bed," you tell him with a frown and clear your throat. "So, I was walking towards the hotel."
The blonde nods his head, noticing your defeated look and he lands a hand on your arm. "I'm sorry you had to deal with that. He definitely doesn't deserve you from what I can tell," he mumbles and you look up at him, your eyes meeting his blue ones.
"You don't know me, though," you whisper and Luke shrugs his shoulders, dropping his hand from your arm.
"I have a knack for reading people and I can tell that you're a good person. Can I… can I walk you to the hotel? Or, would you… would you want to stay at our hideout? It's very safe. He wouldn't be able to find you," he mentions with a tilt of his head and you stare up at him in shock.
This man you just met. Who kills people for a living. Invited you to stay at the train hideout with three other assassins. You would be safer there most likely. Jack was always the type to follow after an argument. You nod your head at his offering and Luke lets out a sigh of relief, grabbing a hold of your hand before heading towards an empty carriage.
"Hop in, m'lady," he smiles and opens the carriage door for you. You giggle and curtsy before climbing into the buggy.
-
You hide behind Luke a bit once you get onto the train, glad to see no one in sight. "Are you sure they're going to be okay with me being here?" You ask the blonde and he looks down at you.
"Yeah, I'm sure. I mean, I don't see a problem with you staying here," he mumbles and shrugs his shoulders. You stifle a laugh, gripping his arm as he leads you through the different train cars. "You can stay in the room I'm sleeping in. I'll sleep somewhere else."
"Luke," you reach out and grab him, stopping him from leaving the room. "I-Can you stay with me?"
The blonde stares down at you as you chew on your bottom lip, not wanting to be alone in a train with skilled killers. "Yeah, yeah," he whispers and lays a comforting hand on yours. "I'll be right here."
He sits down in a chair beside the bed after taking off his trench coat, setting it on the desk. You slide onto the bed and lie down, your eyes staring up at the ceiling as you try to calm your nerves. "Luke," you whisper out one last time and you hear him hum in response, "thank you for saving me tonight."
Luckily once you passed out you slept like an absolute baby. Nothing disturbed your sleep throughout the night. Not even the sound of the train constantly running. The time was nearing seven in the morning when you woke up, stretching your arms while sitting up in the bed.
"Hell," you whisper and swing your legs over the side before getting up. You glance over at the chair to see Luke's tall frame scrunched up, heavy breaths leaving his lips as he was still sound asleep.
You smile gently, noticing how cute he looks before grabbing your things and walking out of the train car. You quietly make your way through the train, seeing that you guys are almost near the train station in The Strand.
You stop dead in your tracks as you walk by a board with a bunch of pictures tacked to it along with strings connecting to each other. You furrow your brows together, taking everything in when a hand presses against your shoulder. A scream leaves your lips as you're roughly turned around, your back now pressed against the board.
"Who are you?" A deep voice rasps out and you can feel a cool blade press against your throat.
You look up at the man, seeing a scar in his eyebrow and his striking brown eyes. "I-I… my name's Y/N!"
Loud footsteps are heard and you glance towards the train car door to see Luke standing in the doorway. "Jacob! Stop!"
A gruff leaves his lips and presses the blade harder to my throat. "Why? She could be working for him?!" He states and looks over at the blonde.
Your body shakes in fear as Luke slowly walks towards the two of you, his hands out. "She doesn't. She didn't even know we existed!" Luke informs him and Jacob looks back at you, a skeptical look in his eyes before he pulls the blade away from your throat.
"What is she even doing here? If Evie finds out-"
"If Evie finds out what?" A woman's voice cuts him off and you twist your head to the left, seeing a woman your age standing in the room. "Who's this?" She asks while her eyes are set on you before moving back to the two men.
"This is Y/N. She had a bit of a dilemma last night and I offered for her to stay here so she was safe," Luke explains and Evie nods her head, stepping towards me.
"You alright?" She asks you and you swallow, nodding your head.
"Y-Yeah, yeah. Luke… saved my life last night from a-a blighter?" You question the name you've heard him call the men who dress in red and you glance towards the curly blonde to see him nod his head. "I was heading towards a hotel since my ex-boyfriend decided to, uhm, cheat on me with someone else in our home and the blighter came out of nowhere and tried to assault me."
Evie's eyes widen a bit and she rests her hand on my shoulder. "I'm so sorry. Are you okay?" She asks and you nod your head.
"I heard her screaming and managed to kill him before he got too far," Luke pipes up and you tuck a strand of hair behind your ear, the images from last night flashing through your mind.
"At least you were in the vicinity. God knows what would've happened after he was done," she comments and your heart drops in your chest, shivering at the thought of it.
The train comes to a stop and you move to glance out the window to see that you made it to The Strand train station. "I'm…" you trail off and look back at the rest of the assassin's, "I'm gonna get going. Thank you, Luke. For everything." You smile at him before moving to step off the train. You heading straight towards the stairs that lead to the street when Luke's voice yells to you.
"Y/N! Wait!" You stop your movements, glancing over your shoulder to see the blonde running up to you. "Do you… do you need help finding a new place or what's going to happen?"
Your heart flutters at his words, surprised that this gorgeous man cares about you after just meeting you last night. Or maybe that's just his job.
"I-I guess I didn't really think of that. I think I'm just going to gather up my belongings and head to that hotel. It should be safer in the daytime, yeah?" You ask him, fiddling with your fingers as his blue eyes stare into yours.
"It should be. I would go with you, but we've got stuff we need to do today," Luke mutters and you nod your head, smiling softly.
"That's fine, Luke. I'll see you around maybe?" You question with a tilt of your head, praying that he says he will.
A smile comes to his pink lips, nodding his head. "Yeah, absolutely. You'll definitely see me around Alex's place," he comments and you nod your head.
"Perfect."
-
You rush through the streets of the borough you live in, The Strand, running as fast as your heeled boots could take you. The train station was in sight and you're beginning to feel out of breath from running so far, so fast.
News about a shootout between the Rooks and Blighters roam the streets in almost every borough. What had you worry the most was when you heard someone mention that a man dressed in a trench coat got shot.
Luke immediately came to your mind and you dropped what you were doing to head to the train station, hoping that their train would be at the station. You were in luck to see their train just pulling in when you reached the top of the stairs. You quickly run towards the train, hopping onto it as soon as it stops.
"Y/N?" Evie's voice calls out and you look over at the woman, your chest heaving rapidly.
"Is it… is it Luke?" You ask in a whisper and she nods her head. Your heart drops into your and she motions her hand, silently telling you to follow her.
Your heart beats a million miles a minute as the two of you walk into the room Luke is resting in. You swallow thickly as your eyes lay on Luke who's barely conscious. Evie heads back out of the room, leaving the two of you alone. You fiddle with your fingers before moving a chair near the bed.
Luke's face is a bit pale and you watch as his chest slowly rises and falls. He squirms a bit before turning his head towards you. "Y/N…?" He trails off in a whisper, a groan leaving his lips as one of his hands move to his side.
You nod your head, scooting closer as you give him a sad smile. "I'm here, Luke, I'm here," you mumble and rest one of your hands on his arm, rubbing gently.
The blonde-haired assassin grabs a hold of your hand, lacing his fingers with yours. "W-What are… what are you…" Luke struggles as you watch his blue eyes roll back into his head, heavy breaths leaving his lips.
You squeeze his hand, tears dancing along your waterline as you swallow the lump in your throat. "The shootout has been roaming around the streets and ran here as fast as I could. Get some rest, Luke. I'll be here when you wake up," you inform him and lean forward to kiss his forehead.
Luke hums as you comb your fingers through his curly locks and leans into your touch. "'m glad you're here…" he mumbles before nodding off. You wipe the tears that are streaming down your cheeks while keeping a close eye on him, in case he gets any complications from the "surgery."
Footsteps were heard from behind you and you glance over your shoulder to see Jacob standing in the train car doorway. "So, you ran about twenty blocks to see if he was okay?" He asks and you blush a bit before nodding your head. "You must really care for him then."
"I do. A lot more than I ever thought I would," you mumble and look back at Luke, stroking the back of his hand with your thumb.
"He's lucky to have you. I'm actually glad he brought you here that night," Jacob compliments and you smile back at him, giggling softly. "It's nice to have you around. I know Evie likes not being the only woman, that's for sure."
-
It's been almost a month since Luke got shot by a Templar and you wish he would take it easy still, but he's a stubborn man. The two of you walk down the streets of Westminster and he keeps a constant lookout for Blighters or Templars roaming the streets. You can feel his arm brush against yours every so often and you can't help but blush each time he does.
You two walk past the gate, standing at the base of Big Ben and your gaze moves upwards. "Are you sure about this?" You ask Luke as he tucks you into his side. He glances down at you, a smile on his lips while his ocean blue eyes twinkle.
"Of course, why?" Luke questions and you gently place your hand over his healed wound. His eyes move to your hand and then back to your face. "Y/N, I'm fine. I promise."
You sigh and run your fingers over the spot, feeling his clothing against your fingertips. Luke's finger hooks under your jaw, lifting your head to look up at him.
"Hey," he whispers and you hum in response, your fingers gripping his vest. "I'm gonna be okay, alright? You don't have to worry about me."
"I don't have to, but I do. I care about you, Luke. More than you know…" you trail off and he smiles softly while tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.
"I know how you feel, love. I care about you so much," Luke whispers while wrapping his arm around you, large hand gripping hold of your waist.
Your heart flutters in your chest as you smile up at him. You could hear his zipline go off and your eyes widen. A smirk comes to his lips as you wrap your arms around his neck, the two of you flinging into the air. You breathe heavily as you reach the top, Luke's hands gripping your hips as he helps you up.
Your breath hitches in your throat as you look at the view London gives. "Wow," you whisper and spin in a circle, taking everything in.
"Seems like maintenance broke the gate and haven't fixed it yet," Luke mentions while eyeing the open section. His fingertips drag along your lower back, his blue eyes set on you. "Be careful, okay?"
"Yeah, I will," you mumble while taking a step towards the open gate. The wind blows your hair back and you shiver a bit at the cold breeze. "This is incredible, Luke."
He chuckles from behind you and you look over your shoulder, smiling softly as his eyes are set on you. "I knew you would like it," Luke grins and you nod your head in agreement, glancing back out at the city.
Part of the building crumbles and you're too late to notice. "L-Luke!" You shriek as your foot gets caught in the rubble, your body falling through the open gate. Luke lurches forward and manages to grab your hand before you fell 315 feet.
"I got you…" he trails off, his blue eyes wide and he pulls you up. You collapse on top of him, gripping his trench coat tightly as your heart pounds in your chest. The two of you breathe heavily as your eyes meet, your faces inches from one another's. "I got you."
You close your eyes, letting out a sigh before resting your forehead against his. Luke brings a hand to your face, pushing some of your hair behind your ear. Your eyes flutter open, your breath hitching in your throat as you can see the adoration in his blue eyes.
"You're so beautiful, you know that?" He whispers and you blush, attempting to hide your face in his chest when Luke stops you from doing so.
You're almost panting as the blonde keeps you from hiding, his thumb stroking your cheekbone. The distance between your faces diminishes and your eyes flutter shut as his lips press against yours. One of your hands leaves his trench coat and combs through his hair, moving your lips against his.
Luke's hands move to your waist and grips slightly. Your heart pounds in your chest as you pull away, looking down at him. A smile comes to his lips and you slowly get off of him, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.
The blonde sits up, his blue eyes looking over you for any cuts or injuries. "You okay?" He asks quietly and you chuckle, nodding your head.
"Yeah, yeah… guess I should've been more careful," you mumble and Luke laughs, getting onto his feet.
He holds out a hand and you grab onto it, Luke pulling you onto your feet as well. "I'd say I told you so, but I'll let it slide this time," he smiles softly and you giggle, wrapping your arms around his waist.
"Thank you," you mumble, resting your head on his chest. Luke kisses your head, his large hands resting on your back.
"It's no problem, Y/N/N. Can't have you dying on me. I like having you around," he tells you and you pick your head up, looking up at him. You melt at the dimpled smile on his face and he takes one of his hands to move some of your hair from your face.
You smile softly and fiddle with his trench coat. "I like being around you as well, Luke," you grin, and the blonde wraps his arms around you again, holding you against his chest.
"C'mon, let's get going," Luke mentions and you nod your head against his chest before pulling away from him.
-
"Why do I have to go to this ball?" You ask Evie as she fastens the buttons on the back of your dress.
"Because we feel that we'll need an extra pair of eyes," she states before pulling her hands away from you. You look at her through the mirror, running your hands down the Bordeaux-colored dress. "Plus, Luke's been training you right? So if we're in trouble we're going to need your help."
You nod your head at your words as you feel a bit nervous about actually having to fight someone who would kill you. A knock on your bedroom door snaps you from your thoughts, glancing towards the wooden object to see Luke standing in the doorway.
Your breath hitches in his throat as you take a good look at him. He wore a striking white waistcoat with a burgundy-colored undershirt, black slacks along with the same colored pumps, finishing it off with a black tailcoat. You can feel your hands becoming sweaty as Evie leaves the room, giving you a wink on her way out.
Luke's blue eyes dance over your outfit, really taking in how breathtaking you look. The dark color really complimented your skin tone. "You look stunning," he breathes out and takes a step towards you.
You fiddle with your hair and tuck some of the strays behind your ear. "You really think so? I've never… I've never been in such a fancy dress before," you chuckle softly and Luke smiles down at you.
"You definitely should more often. I'll have to get you some-"
"Luke! No, no. You're not going to get me anything. When I can afford it, I'll buy some," you cut him off and res one of your hands on his forearms. "At least, for now, I own this."
He nods his head, giving you a small smile as his hands gently grip your arms as well. "Okay, okay. So, I have something for you to keep hidden," Luke informs you and releases your arms. You do the same, watching him diligently as he pulls out a medium-sized dagger. "I want you to, uhm, slip this in your garter."
You laugh softly as you listened to him choke out that sentence. Luke clears his throat as his cheeks turn pink. "Why are you so flustered, Lukey?" You grin teasingly while taking the dagger from him before hiking up the skirt of your dress.
His blue eyes go wide, finding it hard to look away as you fasten the knife in your garter, positioning it in a way where it won't cut you. "Fucking hell…" Luke trails off and looks away from you.
You fix the skirt before glancing back towards Luke, seeing him scratching the back of his head. "How were you so confident kissing me on Big Ben but can't look at me now?" You ask with a tilt of your head.
"I-Because it's not right? I was just taught to treat a lady with respect," he mumbles while fiddling with his fingers. "Don't get me wrong i-it's nice to see you're so comfortable with me. I just… I'm just not used to this I guess?"
You're in awe as you look at Luke, watching him continue to fiddle with his fingers. "That's the sweetest thing someone's ever said to me," you whisper and Luke raises an eyebrow and mutters "really". You nod your head, grinning ear to ear as you take a step towards him.
Luke reaches for your hand, his blue eyes cast down to look at it before lifting it up, pressing his lips to the back of it. "I never would've thought I'd find love while being here," he confesses and the butterflies in your stomach begin to soar.
"I'd never thought I'd find love after what happened with Jack," you tell him and Luke hums, rubbing his thumb against the back of my hand. "Especially with an assassin."
Luke let's out a laugh and shakes his head, dropping your hand. "You're on your way of becoming one as well, sweetheart," he grins and you giggle, shrugging your shoulders.
"Are you guys done?" Jacob yells from the other room and both you and Luke glance towards the open bedroom door. "We're going to be late if you two keep jabbing on."
You bite your lip, glancing back at Luke as he lets out a sigh. "C'mon, we can "flirt" in the carriage," you giggle and grab his hand, beginning to lead him out of the room when he stops you.
Luke spins you around before pressing his lips to yours. Your eyes widen, one of your hands gripping his forearm. It only takes a couple of seconds for your eyes to flutter shut, proceeding to kiss him back. The blonde's hands rest on your waist, feeling him squeeze slightly through the dress.
"If anything happens. Come to me. I really don't want to put you in any danger," he whispers against your lips and you feel his forehead resting on yours. "Promise me you'll come to me if something happens."
You nod your head, a deep sigh coming from your nose as you inhale his scent. "I promise, Luke."
-
You and Luke walk into the courtyard together, the twins walking in front of the two of you as your nerves are rocketing through the roof. A hand slips itself into yours and you glance up at the blonde, his blue eyes already looking down at you.
"It's gonna be okay, alright?" He whispers and you nod your head, letting out a breath. “Do you want me to get you a drink?”
You shake your head, dropping your hand from him before placing it on his chest. “No, no. It’s fine, Luke. You’ve got stuff to do,” you reassure him and he nods his head.
“Don’t forget,” Luke starts and grabs your hand, bringing it to his lips. “If you need me, find me. I don’t care if I’m in the middle of something. Find me.”
You giggle, smiling up at the blonde as you mutter an alright before leaning on your toes to press a short kiss to his lips. Luke’s hands rest on the sides of your arms, his thumbs stroking the skin gently. The smile on your lips widens when you pull away from him, seeing his lips pursed still.
“You are going to be the death of me,” he whispers and you let out a chuckle, fiddling with his tailcoat.
“Go help save the country, handsome,” you tell him and he nods his head, leaning down to press one more kiss to your lips before walking away from you. You sigh happily and bring your fingers up to your lips, the feeling of his lingering.
You watch the people dance from the terrace railing, tapping your foot to the beat of the music that's being played. You smile softly, watching the couple's dance close to one another. It would be so nice to dance. I don't really know how to dance though.
"Would you like to dance, m'lady?" Luke's Australian voice asks from behind you and you glance over your shoulder, eyes wide.
"Luke," you giggle and he takes your hand in his, "I thought you were supposed to be doing something?"
He smiles softly and you set your drink onto the table as the blonde leads you towards the other people dancing. "Jacob's taking care of it. I'm just here in case something goes wrong, as are you," Luke states while placing a hand to your waist.
You smile softly as the two of you dance to music. The two of you stare at each other in admiration, your fingers intertwining with his as the other rests on his shoulder. "I never would've thought I'd be here right now. With you," you whisper and Luke chuckles softly, nodding his head.
"Yeah, I agree. I mean I probably would've ended up here since it's my job, but I never thought I'd be dancing with the girl I fancy," he states and your heart flutters, still in awe after hearing it a second time. "On a more serious note… you think you'd want to train to become an assassin after all of this?"
You look up at him with wide eyes, halting your movements and he stumbles a bit. His blonde curls bounce a bit as he regains his footing. "Are… are you serious?" You ask and Luke grins ear to ear, nodding his head.
"Absolutely, sweetheart."
"Holy shit…" you trail off and Luke chuckles, tucking some hair behind his ear. "I- Yeah, that would be awesome!"
He smiles softly before dipping down, pressing his pink lips against yours. You couldn't help but smile into the kiss, your fingers going into his hair when you felt a pair of eyes on you. You pull away from Luke, glancing to your left and your breath hitches in your throat at the man who's staring at the two of you from afar.
W-What is he doing here? And why's he wearing Templar gear?
Luke notices something in the corner of his eye and glances up at the building, seeing Jacob on the roof as the other assassin raises his hand. He nods his head before looking back down at you. "Sweetheart," he starts but stops as he detects the fear on your face. "What's wrong?"
"Jack's here," you whisper, tearing your eyes away from your ex to look up at Luke.
"What?! Where?" He asks while looking around. You grab his chin, turning his face in the direction your ex is standing as he chats with another Templar.
"There."
He curses softly, his large hands running up your arms. "Okay, I need to go help Jacob, uhm," Luke pauses and turns his attention to you, "stay out of sight from him. Do anything you can to not let him near you."
You nod your head, swallowing the lump in your throat. Luke caresses your cheek before kissing it softly. "Be safe," you mumble as he begins to walk away. He smiles softly, nodding his head as his heart pounds in his chest as he looks you over.
"I will. Same goes to you."
-
The last thing you expected was to find your ex-boyfriend at the ball, walking around proudly in his Templar uniform. You did your best to stay away from him, but you started to worry about Luke, Jacob, and Evie when they haven't come back yet and it's been over an hour and a half since they left.
You chew on your nails when looking out towards the trees and begin to panic when you feel Jack's eyes on you.  You quickly take a glance his way to see him and another Templar eyeing you while your ex points in your direction. You start to walk away from them and head out towards the ruins, keeping a lookout through the corner of your eye. When the two men began to follow is when you went into full-blown panic, walking a bit faster towards where Luke is.
You hike your dress up a bit, closing the distance between you and the ruins. You glance back once more to just see Jack following you still and when a smirk forms on his lip is when you decide to break out into a sprint.
You were running through the grounds of the Palace, breathing heavily as you continue to hear his heavy footsteps running behind you. "C'mon, Y/N, stop running from me," he calls out from behind you and your heart pounds in your chest. You trip over a rock, catching yourself before you fall over.
You can see Luke standing about 100 yards in front of you, fighting a few Templars that are guarding the opening to the ruins. A grunt leaves your lips as Jack tackles you to the ground. You end up flipping over, trying to kick him off of you when he lands a punch to your ribs. A yelp leaves your lips, pressing your hands to his chest before kicking his kidney.
"Get off of me!" You yell and kick him in the kidney once more. You flip onto your stomach and your eyes meet Luke's for a second when a sharp pain travels up your back.
A scream leaves your lips as you feel Jack pull the knife from your back before flipping you over. Luke lets out a gasp as he watches the Templar straddle your chest. "Y/N!" The blonde yells and assassinates both of the men beside him.
"It's such a shame that you have to die," Jack tsks as you did everything you could to get him off of you. The knife he's holding almost pierces through your chest when Jack was tackled off of you.
You gasp and since as you lean on your left hand, watching Luke shove his blade into your ex-boyfriend's chest. A surge of pain shoots up your back and a shriek leaves you lips, falling back onto the grass. "L-Luke!" You call out and the blonde glances over his shoulder, seeing you arch your back off the ground and your chest heaving.
Luke rushes over to you and lifts you off the ground. "C'mon," he starts and wraps an arm around your waist. You let out a grunt, gripping onto his trench coat as the two of you trudge towards the main gate. "We need to get you to Miss Nightingale."
"B-But the shroud…" you trail off, feeling yourself getting weaker as Luke hushes you. You almost trip as you get closer to the exit, a cry leaving your lips.
"Jacob and Evie will take care of it. I'm not losing you," the blonde assassin states before stopping, lifting you completely in his arms as he carries you bridal style towards an empty carriage.
-
You smile as you watch your little girl run around the living room of Luke’s home. The blonde curls on her head bouncing as giggles. Evelyn picks up one of her toys, shaking it in her tiny hands before tumbling back towards you. “Hi, baby girl,” you grin and pick her up from her spot. “Wanna go find daddy?”
She lets out a squeal, clapping her hands together as the two of you head further into the house. You walk into the kitchen to see your husband cooking lunch, the smell of the beef he’s sauteing starts to make you hungry. “Hi, loves,” Luke greets and peers over his shoulder. You smile at him, walking up to him and pressing a kiss to his cheek. Luke bends down to kiss your lips before moving his attention to his daughter. “Hi, Eve!”
Evelyn smiles at the blonde, reaching out to him and Luke pulls away from the stove as you hand her to him. You continue making the beef patties that are in the pan while Luke places a kiss all over Evelyn’s face, her squeals echoing off the walls of the kitchen. You pull the pan off the burner when they were done, setting the two and a half patties onto a plate. “Luke, can you get the highchair for her?” You ask and he nods his head, walking into the other room with her in his arms.
You cut up the half patty, making it small enough for Eve to eat when a knock on the front door reaches your ears. “Sweetheart, can you get that?” Luke calls out.
“Yeah!” You answer and place the fork and knife down before walking towards the door. You open the door to see three men standing on the porch, all dressed up in Assassin gear. They look at you confused as you give them a smile. “Luke! I think it’s for you.”
Your blonde husband talks nonsense to your daughter while walking towards you. “Who is-” Luke starts but cuts himself off as his blue eyes catch sight of his three friends. “Guys, hey! What are you doing here?”
The brunette scratches his neck and chuckles, “well, we heard you were back in town and decided to stop by. You know… since it’s been a decade since we’ve seen you,” he explains and the smile on his lips falls.
“Yeah, I’m sorry. I meant to send letters but the job in London took up a lot of my time and then I was training her afterward,” Luke mumbles and glances down at you. “Uh, Y/N, these are my fellow assassin friends, Calum, Michael, and Ashton. Guys, this is my wife Y/N and our child, Evelyn.”
You give the three men a small wave and they do the same. “Do you guys wanna come in? We just made lunch and if you’re hungry I can cook up a few more,” you smile, and the other blonde grins.
“I don’t know about Ashton or Cal, but I could eat,” Michael states and walks into the house. You let out a chuckle as he and Luke head back into the kitchen. You motion for the other two to come in and you close the door after they come inside.
“It’s nice to finally meet you guys. Luke talked about you all a lot,” you smile and Calum smiles down at you.
“Of course he did. I only wish we knew about you,” he states while the three of you head into the kitchen to see Luke already cooking the other patties as Evelyn sits in her highchair.
“Well, there’s no time like the present,” you grin and sit in the chair beside your little girl, your heart fluttering at the scene in front of you. You never thought this was the future you were going to bestow and you were not complaining. I love my little family.

Do Not Stand { Outer Banks }
word count - 4.8k warnings - death (cancer related), characters dealing with the aftermaths of death, swearing synopsis - One of the Pogues passes away and leaves a message for her friends. Each of them take it a different way.  a/n - Here’s another story I have that is similar to one I’ve read. The work Bury A Friend by pogue-writings is amazing and you should check it out! This one was actually inspired by my favorite poem “Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep” by Mary Elizabeth Frye. I may or may not have cried a few times while writing this. Stay safe, healthy, and groovy, but don’t forget to give the people you love a tight hug. Love you guys.
Do not stand at my grave and weep
Kenna knew she was dying. She had known she was dying for a long time. Diagnosed with cancer in her freshman year of high school, she knew that she was living on borrowed time. And there was no way she was going to waste a single second of it.
Partying, fishing, boating, and hanging out with her best friends, Kenna never let a day pass that she wasn’t bound to remember. John B, Pope, JJ, Sarah, and Kie lived it up right along with her, never questioning, never slowing her down.
So, when they saw her lifeless body in the hospital room, it felt so wrong. She was always dancing, always smiling, always cracking jokes, even when she was hooked up to a machine. They had seen her in the hospital bed before, but not like this, never like this.
Kie was already gasping through sobs, tears running down her cheeks. Pope was going to throw up, his face paling and stomach twisting. Sarah clung to the wall for support, her legs unable to keep her standing. John B couldn’t even step inside the room. He had lost too many people to lose her too. JJ, for once in his life, was dead silent. He didn’t know what words to say to make anything better.
Kenna’s parents held tight to her younger sister, trying to stifle tears as their only remaining daughter sobbed uncontrollably.
I am not there, I do not sleep
Kie remembered the last time she saw her friend before the cancer took a turn for the worse. Kenna had been so alive, so fierce, dancing on the HMS Pogue without a single care in the world. Knowing that her best friend was dying was different than living in a world without her in it.
Seeing her body, pale, blue, cold, made Kie shiver. The coffin wasn’t black like one you would expect to see. It was hand carved out of red wood. Kie’s mom and dad helped pay for it. The inside was lined with a jade green, Kenna’s favorite color. She wore her favorite white dress, her nails painted a pretty pink. Hair curled perfectly, cheeks a rosy red, she looked nothing like the girl that Kie knew.
Pope was the first to lay down a flower. He had picked them out. Holding the light purple daisy in his hand, he couldn’t help his trembling body. The preacher had gone silent, the congregation no longer singing. Setting the flower inside his friend’s casket, Pope fought back tears as he remembered the day she made him a daisy chain flower crown, claiming it made him look majestic.
He brushed his hand over hers one last time as he stepped away, shocked by how cold she felt.
JJ walked up with Kie, a hand on her shoulder to keep her steady. They had tried to make Kenna smile, but it looked so fake, so forced. He had seen a thousand fake smiles on her face before as she smiled through the pain, but she somehow always managed to make them look real. He remembered how she used to give him a soft, kind smile whenever he went over to her house after a fight with his dad. How, even though her body was actively trying to kill her, she worked her hardest to make everyone else around her happy.
A tear rolled off of his eyelashes, landing on her cheek.
Sarah hadn’t known Kenna as long as the others and she would regret those lost years for the rest of her life. She hadn’t stopped crying since stepping out of the car that morning. The girl in the coffin had this ability to make Sarah laugh even when she felt like dying on the inside. Sarah wondered if she was ever going to be able to smile again.
Without Kenna, the world was so much darker.
John B was the last to walk away. His flower was crumbling in his tight fist as he watched friend after friend place a purple daisy in the coffin. But John B couldn’t do it. He had lost his mom and then he lost his dad, he couldn’t handle losing his best friend too. He couldn’t walk up and look at her, couldn’t see the lifelessness in her eyes. He just couldn’t do it.
A pair of arms wrapped around his shoulders. He jumped, startled to find JJ’s arms around him. Pope was next, and then Sarah, and then Kie, until they were all standing there, staring at the still open coffin. Everyone else had gone, even her parents and sister. Not a single eye was dry.
When John B finally lay his flower in Kenna’s coffin, she was nearly covered in her favorite flower. The smile on her face looked suddenly real.
I am a thousand winds that blow
“This is for you,” Kenna’s mother said, offering the Pogues a letter as they sat in a small circle back at her house. Tears ran down the woman’s face, dragging her make up along with it. Kie lifted a trembling hand to take the letter. She opened it slowly, all eyes now on her. She coughed, trying to clear the thickness out of her throat.
“My friends,” she read and then coughed again. Sarah put a hand on Kie’s knee, trying to pass on what little strength she had. “My friends, we knew this time was coming. We knew our time was short. Thank you for every memory, every joyous moment. The last few years have been hard, but they would have been impossible without you. Promise me two things; first, look out for each other. Don’t neglect each other. Stick by one another as you have always done. Second, don’t cry for me. My time here was short, but it was sweet and epic and so full of love like a never ending song. Find me in the things you love and I will never leave you. Find me in the simple, mundane things and my memory will live on. I love each one of you. Kiara, Sarah, Pope, JJ, John. I carry your names with me where I’m going, so please, carry mine.”
She didn’t sign her name.
Kie let the paper fall from her hands, dropping to the coffee table like the last leaf fall of autumn. None of them said a single thing, silent tears running from their eyes.
This time, it was Sarah who stood first. She couldn’t take it any more, the heavy weight that pressed against her shoulders, her chest, her stomach. She wanted to scream, to pound her fists into the dirt, to march back to Kenna’s coffin and demand that she wake up.
Stepping out into the cool summer air, Sarah felt a breeze brush against her skin. At first, she wrapped her arms around her stomach to protect herself from the cold. But then the wind blew again, rustling her hair, pulling at the edge of her dress. A quiet wind chime sung from the neighboring house. It sounded like Kenna’s laugh.
The first time Sarah had met Kenna, there was a tropical storm coming on fast. Sarah and her dad were running around trying to board things up so no windows would break when she spotted Kenna riding her bike out in the wind.
“Hey!” She called, running over. Kenna stopped the bike and turned to face Sarah.
“Hi!”
“What are you doing? A storm’s coming in!” Even standing a few feet away from her, Sarah had to shout for her voice to be heard of the gusts.
“Just wanted to go on a bike ride,” Kenna said, a smile on her face.
“Come inside! You’ll get stuck out here.” Sarah gestured for the girl to follow her.
“You sure? I don’t want to impose.”
“Seriously! I doubt you’ll make it anywhere with how fast this wind is coming in.”
“Well, alrighty then.” Kenna rolled her bike after Sarah. By the time they made it back to the house, the rain had started to pour and they were both soaked to the bone.
“You didn’t have to do this,” Kenna said as Sarah led her toward the fireplace.
“I couldn’t leave you out there in that storm.” Sarah picked a blanket off the couch and draped it over Kenna’s shoulders. “What were you doing out there anyway?”
“Oh, you know, we only get so many of these kinds of storms in our life,” Kenna told her with a smile. “Don’t want to miss a single one.”
Astounded, Sarah excused herself to go get a fresh set of clothes for the both of them, plus a few blankets off her bed. They spent the rest of the storm in front of the fire, talking, getting to know one another, drinking hot cocoa. By the time the rain stopped and the wind died down, both girls knew they had just found a new friend.
Now, the wind grazed against Sarah skin and it no longer felt like a cold chill, but a gentle hug from her friend. Wrapping her arms even tighter around herself, Sarah closed her eyes, trying to stifle her sobs. Between the wind rustling the leaves and making the wind chimes sing, Sarah could almost hear Kenna’s voice once again.
I am the diamond glints on snow
Kie had gone to the Mainland only a few times in her life aside from day trips to Chapel Hill. Her parents took her to Minnesota once in the winter for her grandpa’s funeral. Kie didn’t want to go alone, so she took Kenna with her.
It was the only time Kenna ever went to the Mainland. It was the only time Kenna had ever seen the snow.
Kie and Kenna ran throughout the backyard, laughing in their layers and layers of clothes as they threw clumps of wet snow at each other. They made drooping snow men and snow angels. They slid down snow covered hills on pieces of cardboard and went ice skating on the frozen over pond without skates. In a span of only a few days, they must have taken at least a thousand pictures.
Sitting on her bed late that night, Kie was scrolling through those same pictures on her phone, tears rolling down her cheeks. Stuffing her blanket into her mouth was the only way to keep her sobs from carrying.
She tried to remember what Kenna said. Don’t cry for me. That was impossible. She must have known that while writing her letter. How was Kie not supposed to cry for her best friend, her ride or die? How was she supposed to not cry when the ache her chest was burning her alive?
Swiping through the pictures, Kie tried to recall what it was like to see Kenna smile. The smile was there on her phone, but it wasn’t anything like the real thing.
The snow glistened beneath Kenna in one picture as the girl rolled over from laughing so hard. Kie promised this picture of Kenna that she would never take advantage of the snow again. Every new experience that Kie had, she would live for Kenna. No more lounging around doing nothing. Kie was going to take every risk and she was going to take it with a smile on her face. She was going to fight for what she believed in, fight for what she wanted, harder than she ever had before.
And no one was going to stop her.
But despite her new determination, her sobs would not stop. There was a quiet knock at her door and she didn’t have the strength to pretend that she was okay. Her mom peeked the door open. As soon as Mrs. Carrera saw the distress her daughter was in, she walked inside the room and sat beside Kie, pulling her into a hug.
Kie held her phone limply in her hand, the picture of Kenna still smiling up at her as she fell into her mom’s arms. At the sound of her cries, her dad came running in, pulling both Kie and her mom into a solid hug, hoping that he could squeeze the pain right out of his daughter’s heart.
I am the sun on ripened grain
They were supposed to be working, but the music was playing over the speaker and they couldn’t control themselves as they danced to the beat.
JJ had Kenna by her hands, the two of them hopping back and forth, spinning, waving their arms around, whatever they felt the music pulling them to do.
It wasn’t uncommon for Kenna and JJ to find themselves doing odd jobs together. It was kind of their thing. Kenna was usually able to keep JJ on task, but on a warm, sunny day like this, with the fresh, green, Kook grass beneath her feet, even Kenna couldn’t resist taking a break to dance along to the party music.
It was some Kook kid’s 7th birthday. They were all out in the pool, their music blasting for what seemed like miles around. Because the parents were busy doing party things, they left JJ and Kenna to tend to the outside garden.
The sun was beaming down on them from above, the wind just strong enough to keep them cool. Flowers bloomed brighter in the light of the sun, making the garden look more like an oasis.
Once Kenna finally convinced JJ to get back to work, he picked up a hose claiming to go water a tree. Little did she know, as she picked up her watering can, that his intended target wasn’t the tree, but her.
The water was cool against her skin. Welcome, but surprising. With a gasp and a smile, she called out for JJ and their play began again. She chased him around the garden, threatening to shove the hose down his throat or up his ass. He simply laughed as he ran away from her.
By the time their work was finally done, all the flowers were in full bloom. The sunlight glistened off the water droplets, making the entire garden look like a light show. Dropping into the grass, Kenna let her laughter roll through her until it died down. JJ plopped himself onto the ground beside her, laying back to soak up the sun.
JJ couldn’t sleep. His mind was racing at a mile a minute, wondering how he could have let this happen. There must have been something that he could have done to stop this, something that would have saved her life. If he could, he would have taken her place. She didn’t deserve to die, not when so many people cared about her so much.
But he still heard her words in his head like his own thoughts.
“You matter, JJ,” she whispered to him as he paced through the darkness outside. “And you have people who care about you, too. Don’t undermine yourself. Don’t regret something you couldn’t fix.”
JJ slammed a closed fist into a tree before he could stop himself. Once the dam was broken, the flood came rushing out. Again and again he pounded his fists into the same tree, blood running down from his knuckles.
“Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!” JJ cried into the night. Pain splintered through his hands, but that didn’t stop him. It wasn’t until his cries of rage dissolved into desperate gasps for air the he actually dropped his hands back to his side. He still didn’t feel the pain.
Dropping to the ground, he brought his knees up to his chest, his shoulders shaking with quiet sobs.
“I’m sorry,” he sobbed, wrapping his arms around his knees. “Ken, I’m so sorry.”
“It’s not your fault.” If she was there, that’s what she would have told him. “I’m right here.”
I am the gentle autumn rain
Pope swept the floor of his dad’s shop, his eyes blurry with tears. He could barely see what he was doing, but doing something was better than doing nothing. He gave up on sweeping and started to pack the deliveries he would have to run tomorrow.
The island didn’t care if his best friend had died. People still needed their damn groceries.
Kenna danced through his mind; her smile, her laugh, her silly faces, the way she pouted her lips when she fished.
He swallowed a strangled cry as he remembered the day they went on a hike through the woods last fall. The skies were clear when they had started their journey, packs filled with sandwiches and chips and water bottles. They were half way through their hike when the first cloud rolled over them.
“Think we should head back?” Pope asked, watching the cloud above him warily. Kenna laughed, glancing back at him.
“Absolutely not,” she said.
“What if it rains?”
“I didn’t realize you were the Wicked Witch of the East, Heyward,” Kenna said in her teasing tone. Pope rolled his eyes, but there was a smile on his face. “A little water never hurt anyone.”
It started to rain not a few minutes later. It wasn’t heavy, large drops like the rains they got in the winter and spring. It was soft, like a thousand petals falling all at once. Kenna didn’t even flinch. She lifted her face to the sky, smile growing wider as the tiny droplets landed against her cheeks. Pope simply watched her.
She started to turn, raising her hands ever so slightly. Pope’s cynical side couldn’t help but think about whether or not this was the last time she would feel rain against her skin and that’s why she relished in it so much. As if sensing his bad vibes, Kenna turned to look at him.
“Come on,” she said, taking his hand in hers. “We’ve got a hike to finish.”
They never had a chance to go on another hike. Her health declined steadily after that day in the autumn rain. Pope couldn’t bring himself to wonder now if that really had been the last time she felt the rain. Thinking about it was too much to bear.
“Son, what are you doing?”
Pope looked up, the sudden sound of his dad’s voice startling him out of his memory. Heyward stood with his keys in his hands. Behind him, the barest hint of dawn peaked over the horizon. Pope had been here all night.
“Just wanted to get ahead on deliveries,” Pope said, conscious of the fact that his voice was breaking. He could feel the tickle of a tear on his cheek, but he fought to keep the others swarming in his eyes at bay.
Heyward let out a heavy sigh and set down his things, walking toward his son. With every step, Pope felt his walls start to crumble a little bit more. Until his dad reached him and enveloped him into a strong hug. Only then did Pope broke completely.
“She’s gone.” His cries were muffled as he buried his face in his dad’s shirt. “She’s actually gone.”
“I know, son,” Heyward said, looking up at the ceiling to keep his own tears in his eyes. “I know.”
When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight
John B didn’t even try to sleep. He sat on the dock the entire night, doing nothing other than watch the horizon and drink a beer. At least, he held the open bottle in his hand and pretended like he was drinking it.
He couldn’t bare to go inside his house, not when she was everywhere he looked. The kitchen still smelled like her turkey sandwiches. The bathroom was still stained from her hair dye that she used to dye her eyebrows.
“I don’t have any hair left, so my eyebrows can be any color I want, right?” she said with a laugh. John B watched her from the bathtub, an amused smile on his face.
The pictures of her still hung on his wall. She was in every crack, every crevice, every squeaky floorboard, every rusted nail.
Kenna had stayed over when Big John went missing. She sat up with John B until he fell asleep, which usually wasn’t until early in the morning. She made him breakfast, no matter how many times he told her he was perfectly capable. She helped him look for his dad, hand made flyers, talked to the police when John B couldn’t stomach it. She was there by his side through it all.
And the morning that Ms. Lana came by the house to tell him what had really happened, Kenna was there too. She stayed up with him, holding him as he cried and emptied his guts. He had always held out hope that Big John was alive. Without him, John B wasn’t entirely sure what he was supposed to do. But every anxiety, every fear, every worry, Kenna quelled just by being there.
When the sun rose in the morning, the rooster crowing and the birds flying between the trees, Kenna was still there, asleep by his side.
John B couldn’t go back inside and sleep because when he woke up, he would expect to see her there and he knew she wouldn’t be. He remembered that morning feeling all too well when he could almost forget that his dad was gone for good. He couldn’t go through that again, not without Kenna there to help him.
So, instead, he stared at the horizon, watching the sun rise higher and higher, flooding the marsh and the Chateau with light. The rooster crowed. The birds flew back and forth between the branches. But Kenna wasn’t there to enjoy it with him.
The dock creaked as someone walked toward him. For half a moment, John B let himself hope that it was her.
But it wasn’t.
JJ sat beside him with a sigh. John B looked down and saw the bruises and cut skin of his knuckles. He didn’t need to ask what happened. He knew well enough. Finally taking a drink of the beer, he looked back out to the marsh.
“I had an idea,” JJ said, his voice gravelly.
“Yeah?”
“We should give her a proper Pogue send off,” JJ said, slipping the beer bottle out of John B’s hand to take a drink from it himself. “Go out on our boards, lay her to rest in the ocean.”
John B’s eyes had been dry the entire night, refusing to accept that she was gone. But hearing JJ’s words made it seem so real. The tears came fast and they came hard. He nearly doubled over as sobs shook his body, pressing the sleeves of his sweatshirt against his mouth.
“Come on,” JJ whispered, putting his arm around his friend and pulling him closer. John B put his arms around his friend. Both of them were grateful for the comfort of another.
The birds started to sing.
I am the soft stars that shine at night
They all met at the beach that night. There was a bonfire, s’mores, music. Kie brought her ukulele. Sarah sang a song, the others mumbling along with her.
“Did you bring it?” JJ asked Kie when the singing died down. She nodded and reached for her backpack. With shaking hands, she pulled out a small, metal box.
“It’s safe for the ocean environments,” she murmured, her lower lip trembling as she looked at it.
“It’s perfect,” Sarah said, reaching out and putting an arm around Kie.
“Everyone bring their thing?” John B asked, poking at the fire with a stick. Each of his friends answered in turn, reaching for pockets and bags to pull out what they had brought for Kenna.
JJ pulled one of his woven bracelets off of his wrist, rolling it between his fingers like a blunt. For half a second, it looked like he was going to toss it into the fire. Instead, he looked up at Kie.
“She made this for me when we were kids,” he said, his voice thick with feeling. “Never took it off.”
“Shouldn’t you keep it? To remember her by?” Kie asked. JJ looked at the bracelet and shook his head with a heavy sigh.
“No. I think she needs it more than I do now.” Without another word, he leaned forward and placed the blue and black bracelet into the metal box.
Sarah held a little ceramic bird in her hand.
“We went thrifting this one time,” she said and gave a small shake of her head. “Kenna and I got these matching birds, but mine broke so she gave me hers.”
Placing the small bird into the metal box, Sarah blinked back a heavy downpour of tears. Kie plucked a guitar pick out of her pocket. She looked at it with a small smile on her face.
“We were gonna make a double album together,” Kie said, her voice breaking as she fought off tears. “We got some stuff recorded but, I guess the rest will just have to come with her spirit.”
She dropped the pick into the metal box and it hit the bottom with clunk.
Pope stood, clearing his throat. He walked over to Kie, who held the box in her hands. He fiddled with something, looking down at it as if he wasn’t ready to part with it quiet yet.
“Ken...she used to held me study. She and I had a bet that I wouldn’t be able to one single pencil until I couldn’t sharpen it anymore and, well-” Pope lifted up the small pencil, barely more than a nub. He looked up the stars above. “Guess I won.”
He put the pencil nub into the box and returned to his seat. John B was next, he knew as much. Kie and Pope watched him carefully, expectant. But JJ and Sarah looked away.
“Kenna told me once that she wanted to be an astronaut,” John B said after a long silence. JJ looked over at him. “She wanted to fly among the stars.”
John B felt tears start to gather in his eyes and so he looked up, met with the beautiful expanse of the universe above. Kie leaned over and put a hand on his knee as it bounced up and down. John B let out a teary gasp as he dropped his head back down, eyes closing.
“We found this once when we were out here,” he said after a while, holding up a small, shiny rock. “She said it looked like a fallen star. Said there was a wish locked inside of it. When my dad went missing, she gave it to me and told me to use it whenever I hit my lowest. So, Kenna?”
He looked up again, closing the rock into his fist.
“I want to wish for you to come back. I want to wish for you to beside us again, beside me again. But I won’t.” He brought the rock to his lips. “I wish that you’re at peace. I wish that you know how much you meant to us. I wish that you know we’re going to be okay. Yeah, we’re gonna be okay.”
John B dropped the rock into the box and Kie closed it shut. JJ stood, plucking his surfboard out of the sand. One by one, the others did the same. Kie held the box close to her chest as they rode out to the water beyond the swells. It was a calm night, the moon watching over them as they floating in the water.
No one said anything as they sat. Kie planted a kiss onto the top of the box and then handed it to Pope, who did the same. Around the circle it went, receiving a small kiss from each of Kenna’s friends. Once it was back in Kie’s hands, she held it over the water, hands still shaking. She was supposed to drop it, to let it sink beneath the water and into the depths below, but she couldn’t do it. Not alone.
John B reached out and took some of the weight. JJ was next, then Sarah, and then Pope, until all of them held onto their last bit of Kenna. They gave no signal, but when Kie let out one, steady breath, they all let go together.
Kenna’s box sunk, disappearing into the dark in moments. Sarah tried to choke back a sob.
Now, every time they surfed these waves, a piece of Kenna would still be there, watching over them.
Do not stay at my grave and cry
They made it back to shore, tears drying on their faces. And they spent the rest of the night reminiscing, laughing, drinking Kenna’s favorite lemonade, eating s’mores in the way she liked best.
Not a single tear more was shed.
The stars twinkled above them, the night owls calling in the distance. Wind blew gentle through the trees, the sand below their feet glinting in the moonlight like snow. Sounds of rain pattered somewhere in the distance, the plants around them rustling.
I am not there; I did not die

You save them/ They save you: Arno, Jacob, Ezio
Jacob (Disraeli's Maid! Reader): He was being chased through the streets by the police, they were very persistent and seem to multiply everytime he looked back, he cussed as more spotted him on the rooftops after accidentally knocking a tile off! he looked around frantically before spotting an open window...
he could hear the officers looking and Jacob didn't think twice he shot a line to the building and zipped over to the window he landed inside the room with a roll and hadn't even had time to catch his when he heard a gasp! The assassin whipped his head in direction and saw Y/n in her under garments getting ready for a bath! which meant he was in the Disraeli's estate!
Jacob had no time react as a pounding from frontdoor echoed throughout the house, followed by muffled yelling and thundering footsteps coming up the stairs! thinking fast Y/n started striping causing Jacob's ears to turn pink he started whispering frantically at her. "Wha... What are you doing?! Y/n,Stop!" she didn't the y/nat woman finished stripping then dunked her head into the tub making sure her hair was nice and wet before grabbing a towel wrapping around her and answering the door get as the police started beating their fist against the door demanding she open it!
Y/n complied as Jacob pressed himself against the wall out of the sight. "C-Can I help you?" Y/n stammered out there was few moments of awkward silence. "Ahem, I... I'm sorry ma'am but it seems a dangerous man was-" The police was cut off by a new voice. "What's going on here?" Mrs.Disraeli demanded then noticed her maid's state on undress."Y/n! Good heavens child, why are you answering the door in a towel?!" the older woman put herself protectively between the y/ht woman and the officers who shifted uncomfortably under the blond woman's glare.
"I-I just started my bath when I heard commotion, I thought they going to break the door.." The viscountess turned her attention back to the police. "Oh really? what's this about?" the older woman demanded as the officer stammered about a dangerous man was seen in the area, and may be hiding in the house.
"Well, I assure you there's no such man here!" the officer awkwardly sputtered seeing a black coat fluttering in the window! Y/n who was shivering at this point opened the door a little wider and showed them a black curtain in the window... the officers blanched as Mrs.Disraeli demanded them out of her house! calling them a colorful array of names as she followed them.
Y/n slammed the door feeling like she was going faint, all those men had to see her like this! Jacob grabbed her robe off a hook and draped around her shoulders pulling her close to. "Sorry love, I thought they'd give up if they lost sight of me, I didn't think they come in here." His hold tightened It was clear that he was very upset that other men had seen his girlfriends body!
Y/n face flushed as she mustered the courage to look up at him and felt a spark go off when she met his eyes, Jacob who still felt hyped up from his chase started feeling heat pumping throughout his body; and started backing Y/n against the wall and just as they were about to kiss -a knock at the door caused the couple to jump away each other. "Y/n dear, finish up before you catch your death!" Mrs.Disraeli's said from behind the door. "Yes mum." Y/n said remembering that she still needed to bathe. "Also, Mr. Frye? You're free to wait in Y/n's room for the meantime, good-day!" the couple blanched as Mrs. Disraeli's footsteps faded away...
How he saves you: Two groups Blighters had a disagreement on how to do their jobs, causing a bloody infighting brawl in the middle of the Strand! Police were trying to get things under control, but soon had pull out do to the Blighters outnumbering them.
And Y/n was trapped in the middle of it! she'd been asked to go shopping by the Disraeli's and next thing she knew bullets were flying passed her head! she hissed feeling her cheek get grazed as she duck to the ground and covered her ears praying that someone would realize she's here!
Luckily someone did, Jacob and some of his Rooks were patrolling nearby when they heard the commotion and saw the civilians fleeing, He signaled for his gang to follow him and they went to the roof to see the mess the Blighters were making of themselves!
One Rook suggested they wait this out and let the Blighters off themselves, Jacob hummed actually considering it... Until his eyes caught a familiar glow peek out from behind a damaged carriage, Jacob's heart sank into his feet when he realized Y/n was down there! He started ordering the Rooks to distract the red wearing sods as he made his way down into the war zone.
None Blighters noticed him as Rook tossed a cherry bomb causing Blighters to stop fighting each other focus on the Rooks, Y/n was still huddled behind the carriage when a pair of arms got a hold of her, causing her to struggle. "Y/n, it's me love calm down..." Jacob hissed in her ear causing to blink as she looked up to see her boyfriend staring a her concerned.
she saw his eyes flash with anger when he saw her cheek bleeding, but didn't say anything as he shot a grappling hook towards the roofs. "Hang onto me, tightly now." He said seconds before they were airborne Jacob took most of the impact as they landed unceremoniously on the roof and out of harms way.
After catching their breaths Jacob examined Y/n's cheek he sincerely hoped that was the only thing hurt as he took out a flask of whiskey and handkerchief and started cleaning the cut, the y/hc woman as soon as the whiskey soaked cloth touched her cut. "Sorry, were you hit anywhere else?" Jacob asked keeping his eyes on her. "No." the hazel eyed assassin relaxed.
Down below he heard the Blighter's fall back; they were outnumbered and too exhausted from fighting amongst themselves, and knew if The Rooks were here? that meant one or both of the Frye's weren't far behind! And they certainly didn't want to fight them right now! Smart move seeing that Jacob wants to kill them for harming his girl, He escorted Y/n home once he was sure they were gone.
-------------------------------------
Arno: the marshals were after him he manage to hopped over a wall and hoped there was hay on the other side! there wasn't he heard a yelp and looked down and realized he was top of Y/n!? he mumbled out an apology and helped her up checking to make sure he hadn't hurt her... then he heard the marshals say they saw him go over the fence. "Desole ma belle ami, I need to leave!" He was about to to run when you grabbed his hand. "Wait, Arno! the back garden hide there." He hesitant as he could tell there was party going on "Trust me they won't even see you." Arno took her word for it and went into the back garden.
Y/n took a breath and walked to the front where she was greeted by her employers butler who seemed confused why she wasn't with the children? when the Marshals barged in demanding if they've seen a man in blue? the y/nat nanny and elderly man looked at each other bemuse then back at the soldiers.
"You're going have more descriptive." the butler stated as he led them to the back garden to reveal everyone in the party was wearing blue! "The madame likes to throw theme parties, This theme is: Lune bleue de Paris." the marshals eyes scanned the entire party, but he couldn't tell or remember what shade of blue Arno was wearing and all this blue was starting to make his eyes hurt!
He ordered search off and they left... the butler eyed Y/n suspiciously she noticed and shrugged, before returning to where she left the children who were still napping like nothing had happened. Arno showed up a few moments later and thanked her before leaving again, then she heard a commotion in garden apparently one of the guests was killed...
How he saves you: Sequel to how he fell asleep on you: He'd been looking for Y/n since he'd returned to Paris. After the council reinstated him back to his old rank for stopping the artifact from falling into Rose and Napoleon's hands, Before he left he had asked Axel keep an eye on Y/n in case someone ever found out you and him were connected and tried to harm or use her against him.
Unfortunately the Axeman had updated Arno on what happened since he left, How her employer's son had used and tossed her away the second his family found out! after that Axel lost sight of the h/c woman and hadn't been able to find a trace of her since.
Arno stomach knotted as he took this in and asked where's the last place Axel had seen her? near Arno's cafe but that was months ago! and the Frenchman started from there, it was around winter when he finally got a break he'd seen this rather feminine looking man walk around the streets at night. he asked his staff about him and was told that was fake/n they don't know much about him and hadn't bothered to ask.
Arno wasn't so sure F/n was who they appeared to be and decided to follow him one night; using eagle vision to find y/ht man's trail which led him to a icy snowed in alley, where his heart briefly stopped then sped up when he found a person curled up trying to sleep Arno quickly pulled their toque off to reveal Y/n! her light was fading fast! He held the y/ht woman's hand she was freezing!
They weren't far from the cafe, Arno scoped her into his arms and made his way back, he changed her out of her clothes and into his, and piled almost every blanket he had in his room on her, he felt himself relax as color started return to her face, she was still cold... Arno started taking his gear off and joined Y/n in his bed holding her close to him as possible and rubbing her hands. The next morning he was woken up by a shocked yelp and thud he looked over the side of his bed to find Y/n on the ground gawking at him stunned... Guess he has a lot of explaining to?
-------------------------------------
Ezio (Set in AC:II/how he also found out you were a girl): You were both being chased by the guards in a place that didn't seem to have to many people or hiding spots to jump into, Ezio was snapping at Y/n to hurry! wondering how in the world is this pudgy man a mercenary? when the y/ht saw a small alley coming up and quickly led the assassin down it and saw a hay pile! they shoved Ezio into it, he silently cussed as there wasn't any room for Y/n who he was going to snap at 'him' to run, only for him voice to die down when he watch, Y/n quickly untuck his shirt and all that pudge had dropped out reveal it was a skirt?!
They pulled the sleeves out from under their vest slipped they're arms through then pulled their bandanna down around their neck letting their y/hl & hc flow as making sure every thing was in it's right place, Y/n fell to the ground just as the guards rounded the corner. "You woman did you see to two men head this way?" one of the guards demanded the y/hc woman nodded and pointed farther down the alley.
"Yes, they knocked me down and went that way." the guards ran into the direction she pointed in, after a few moments of silence she got off the ground and Ezio pulled himself out of the pile and gawked at you! "A woman?! you were a woman this entire time?" he bellowed surprising Y/n at his sudden anger needles to say Ezio certainly wasn't a fan of yours when you returned to Monteriggioni much to everyone's confusion.
How he saved you: a rogue mercenary working for the Templar had kidnapped Y/n! he had her captive on a boat that was set for Spain threatened to toss you overboard sink if he saw even one hood in the crowd, he made point by showing you tied up to the plank and with rocks weighed to your feet, no one went near that boat as guards tried to negotiate with the man, promising him pardons, money, women anything!
If he just let you and the crew go, yeah he had them too! They were tied up with an explosive barrel which he threat to set off if they tried anything! what he didn't take into account how much Ezio had improved in a short time, he'd already taken out the traitor's men, and freed the crew who quietly made their way off the boat until one of them accidentally stubbed his toe causing him cuss out!
The Mercenary to whirl around and look at them wildly, before cutting you loose and flee with the guards after him, Ezio wasted no time diving in after you he found and got a hold of you and used his hidden blade to cut the weights off your legs, and swam you both to the surface you both let gasps for air one breaking to the surface.
Ezio pulled you up on to the shore caught his breath and undid the rest of your restraints. " Are you okay?" he croaked swallowing as you winced nodding He hugged you tightly vowing if that traitor was still alive the guards will be the least of his worries...

Imagine: Being Jacob’s lover and Jack the Ripper abducting you [part 2]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warning: I delved pretty deep into depicting Jack as the ruthless psychopath he is in this part. Expect smut moments, a lot of angst and mildly Stockholm syndrome
You didn’t know how many days had passed since Jack the Ripper abducted you. Was it even days? Could it be weeks? Months? All you knew was that you were in this mess...deep at that. There was no way you could escape without your weapons and Jack always watched over you like a hawk. Another problem was that you weren’t going anywhere without Jacob. Because if you escaped, you were sure Jacob was going to die. If that wasn’t the case, you wouldn’t be caught dead helping one of the cruelest men in history scheme to bring down your lover’s sister - Evie.
The least he did for you was stop tying you up when he was sure your spirit was broken and you weren’t going to try anything on him anymore. Of course, you fought. The first days of your capture you fought and cursed him, but without weapons you couldn’t do anything in such a weakened state. He never fought you back. He never laid a hand on you even when the foulest of words rolled off your tongue and the last of your strength was gathered to bury your nails in his skin and inflict as much pain as possible. He was very patient with you and that was what scared you the most. If you had to be honest, you would have preferred him torturing you. At least then, his intentions would be clear - he meant you ill. But like this you didn’t know what to think. When he felt in a more “generous” mood, as you liked to think, he would take you with him to see Jacob and prove that he was still alive.
Sometimes he was conscious...sometimes he wasn’t. When he was, you could hear him barely murmur your name painfully and ever so quietly say “I’m sorry”, which always brought tears to your face, but you were determined to never give Jack the satisfaction of seeing you cry. You would walk up to your lover and gently wrap your arms around him, hugging him close and whispering your love for him and that everything was going to be okay. You were going to make sure of that.
Every day, Jack visited you and brought you food and water. He would then proceed to watch you with a smirk on his scarred lips, which made your stomach turn. He would also ask you questions about various topics to engage conversation and you would give half-hearted answers. Eventually you got used to his company. Being locked up could get lonely and sometimes you craved a companion, even in the face of your abductor. Because above all you were afraid of being left alone with your thoughts. The loneliness caused you to debate whether he has treated you badly or not. Sure he abducted you, but... he hasn’t shown any sign of evil intention towards you... He never hurt you... He promised he had some sort of feelings for you even...
Of course, you never forgot about your love for Jacob. You weren’t going to leave him here alone. But as for what you felt for Jack was what puzzled you and had you conflicted in the worst ways. You remembered the way his lips felt on yours the first time he kissed you. He still kissed you after that. And his kisses were intense, passionate and as much as you didn’t want to admit it, left your knees weak. No words could express the confusion you felt. You hated him, but needed his presence near you. You were desperate for someone to remind you that you were alive, to show you more than these four walls you were trapped behind and keep you from losing your sanity from the loneliness you felt, as time went by painfully slow. Was time even running anymore? And was the comfort of your sanity just an illusion of insanity?
“You look so beautiful...“ Jack’s deep voice purred as he eyed you in the dress he had brought you several minutes ago. It was a rich burgundy color ornamented with black lace sleeves that cascaded down your arms and the back of them almost touched the floor beneath you. The lace continued to your chest and up your neck, showing just enough skin, but was far from crude. The material was soft but heavy. Velvet perhaps, or maybe plush. The corset with a heart shaped decolletage complimented your figure, as you had tightened the ties in the back. The skirt flowed freely down to the ground like a waterfall in an elegant heap, shining softly in the dim candle light that brought some life to the dark room. You didn’t know how he came in possession of something that looked as expensive as this dress and you were afraid to ask.
He presented the cloth to you nonchalantly and told you to put it on. You mentally thanked him for the decency to leave the room while you undressed and even though you didn’t intend to please him in any way, you found yourself loving the newly obtained garment and invited it as a much needed change after your previous clothes were so worn out and dirty. You missed being able to spoil yourself in fancier clothes. But all those feelings disappeared when he reentered the room. You felt his eyes bore into you and you felt filthy to your very soul. You refused to look at him. You were disgusted by him and yourself and all your attraction to the dress disappeared. You hated it. It was just as disgusting.
“Look at me.“ he spoke again. You refused, continuing to stare at the floor, fidgeting with your hands. You heard heavy footsteps coming closer to you. Jack was now in front of you, so close, but you couldn’t feel any body heat radiating from him. It was like he wasn’t even alive... His hand reached up and touched your chin, making you shiver. He didn’t repeat his request, but you knew better than to test his patience. You gathered all your courage to look into his eyes and saw hunger in them. His other hand snaked around your waist, pulling you flush against his chest. He leaned in closer to your face until his lips were on yours in a familiar heated kiss. Your mind went blank as you kissed back.
“May I?“ he tugged slightly at the ties of your corset. You could only nod your head slightly, regretting it to the marrow of your bones. I’m sorry, Jacob... you thought, as Jack slowly untied the laces one by one, tantalizingly slow. His lips returned to yours, tongue sliding into your mouth. Soon, your back was left bare and his hands ghosted up your spine, sending another shiver through your body. The velvet slid off your body minutes after, leaving your body naked for him and all of time and space stopped existing for you.
You loved the feeling of the cold floor against your back, his hands roaming your body, sending wave after wave of pleasure throughout your entire being, his lips against your skin... His movements somewhat reminded you of Jacob and that gave you a form of comfort. You tried your best to imagine him in Jack’s place. You heard him groan your name as he slid his length into you, stretching you to your limit. As much as you tried to suppress the moans, you couldn’t hold back any more. You dug your nails in his back and buried your face in the crook of his neck, moaning quietly, tears streaming down your face.
Jack kept a steady pace, not too rough, but not slow either. Soon enough, you found yourself reaching your peak and came all over his member, walls tightening around him. He groaned low in his throat, running his hand through your hair. You felt him grow thicker inside of your sensitive body, making you wince. His other hand pressed you against his chest, making your breasts rub against him. His movements caused a friction between your clit and his pelvis, making you whine from the overstimulation.
Not long after, he pulled out of you and released his seed all over your hips and belly. You looked away, the feeling of disgust returning, heavy in your chest. You lay there on the floor, tainted and filthy, the only sign of life being the heaving of your chest from the heavy breathing. Jack stood up, dressing himself, but his eyes never left you. “Evie Frye will arrive soon.” he spoke with a smirk “When you are ready, we will discuss the plans.”

Raven and Kitsune were both lying on the fluffy carpet, bored out of their mind, and listening to Lana del Rey songs in the dark room and singing along, seductively.
Kitsu:Hey,cuz?Raven:Hm?Kitsu:*giggles*Remember your first kiss?Raven:*snorts*Could I not?Kitsu:T'was funny, huh?Raven:Great circumstances.Kitsu:*winks*Bet that was the best kiss you’ve ever had.Raven:And the only one.Kitsu:Eh?!You and Connor didn’t kiss yet?Raven:Did you and Altaïr?Kitsu:*chuckles*Got me,cuz.Raven:I don’t really mind,y'know.I’m ace.Kitsu:Ye,but I want to get that dumb Arab!I need to see his reactions! He’s always so stoic and conposed,it’s pissing me off!Raven:*smirks*Get Malik to flirt with you.Maybe he’ll get jealous.Kitsu:N I C E !Raven:Need help?I mean,I could seduce you right now,but I’m not sure it’ll be as effective.Kitsu:*giggles*I wonder if Connor would get jealous~?Raven:*shakes head*Nah…He’d think I’m not interested in him and back off.Kitsu:Pity.Maybe I can get him to make the 1st step~?Raven:I’m not desperate,Kitsu. Now let’s go see how we can talk to Malik…and stop having sexual fantasies while listening to West Coast.Kitsu:But it’s making me feel so high and nice!Raven:Yeah,I get you.Kitsu:Like the high feeling too, huh~?Raven:Otherwise I wouldn’t listen while tipsy and smoking a joint.Kitsu:Fair point.Let’s go~!
They both left the room and found Malik sitting alone on the couch with Ezio, playing video games.
Raven:Just the men I was looking for.Ezio:Mia bella, ciao~!Raven:I’ve a…favour to ask of you.Ezio:And that is?Raven:I need Malik to flirt with Kitsune and make Altair jealous.
They both cheered in shock and agreed, letting Kitsu stay between them both, with Malik’s arm draped around her,and her legs resting over his lap. They both held a seductive smirk.Just as Raven giggled in amusement,Kim strutted to the living room, looking annoyed.
Raven:Hey,Kim,wanna prank J.J. and have Ezio flirt with you until he becomes J.J.Jealous?Kim:*shocked*Wait what?Raven:Kitsu’s already having her plan unfold. It’s your turn.Kim:Hellz ye!That smug bastard deserves it!Raven:Then get to the Casa Nova and let the plan flourish.
She started jumping excitedly and jumped clumsily next to Ezio, throwing her legs over his,but less classy, like Kitsu, and more playful, and started giggling and making jokes with said Italian.

Seeing her plan growing, she puts Lana’s hot songs to boom around the room loud and clear,to set up the mood. She left the room,to go back to her room, when she met up with Connor, who was engrossed in a book and didn’t notice her, bumping into her.
Connor:Kangee,I’m sorry,I wasn’t paying attention.Raven:Don’t worry,it’s fine. What were you reading?Connor:Oh,the title says ‘Lord if the rings’.It’s the first volume.Raven:*smirks*You went to my room, dear~?Connor:*nods*I was looking for you.Raven:Oh~?Then let’s return and see what you wish to tell me.
They returned to her dim-lit room, that still had a strong sweet scent from the many lit scented candles in the room, and Lana’s songs weren’t helping either. She sat on the bed and pat the spot next to her making him sit next to her.He seemed oddly flustered and more awkward than usual. She took his hand and intertwined their fingers together and looked at him with a soft smile.
Raven:So,what was it you wanted to tell me?Connor:I uh…the Frye boy…he asked me something when we were alone…he asked me to ask you a favour, actually.Raven:*surprised*Eh?What does he need?Is it about Kim?Connor:*nods*It is.Raven:*smirks*Oh,I know very well what it is,then~.Connor:Then, should I tell him something?Raven:No,don’t bother.Let’s just say…I already helped him.Connor:How?Did you use your shamanism powers?Raven:*giggles*Maybe~?Connor:You’re truly remarkable.Raven:*bites lip*Did you ask him something too,darling~?Connor:*shocked*H-How did you…?Raven:*gets closer to him*I’m a powerful Shaman, remember? Our feelings are connected.I feel what you feel,Connor~.Now,is there something you wish to say, dear?Connor:Um…I’m…not good at understanding feelings.Raven:But are you good at showing them~?
By this time, the girl could no longer hide her smirk upon seeing her unofficial lover be so innocently awkward and flustered. She wanted to push the subject as much as she could, seeing how much she could tease him until he gave in.
Connor:Kangee…you…remind me of a young lioness, prowling and spying her pray.Raven:Are you the pray,Connor~?Connor:I may be.Raven:Are you afraid,Connor~?Connor:If it’s you, then I am not.Raven:And what are you going to do?Run away?Connor:Perhaps not.Perhaps, you should run, before it’s too late.Raven:And why should I?Connor:Because the pray is not as helpless as it seems to be.Raven:Then, what are you going to do?Fight back?Connor:Would you wish for that to happen?Raven:Purrhaps~.
With a devilish feline smirk still on her face, she purred the last word dangerously low in his ear, which made him lose sense of his calm and collected nature, and gave in to his feelings. One hand on her waist, pulling her closer to him,and the other on her face, feeling her pale, delicate skin and,her hands both around his neck, they both closed their eyes and indulged in a soft, gentle kiss…the kiss that they’ve been longing for since the very beginning. She used her slender fingers to untie his pony tail, then pushed him back on the bed, staring lovingly deep into each other’s deep dark eyes that held nothing but passion. He held a permanent gentle smile,as she let her hair drape over his face, then playfully meow-ed and softly bit his lip.He held her close to him, embracing her warmly, playing with her hair and humming
Connor:Kangee,I should tell you something.Raven:Yes,Connor?Connor:Konoronhkwa,Kangee.Konoronhkwa.Raven:*chuckles*I love you too,Connor.Even if it’s not going to be for a long time and even if you won’t return,I still will. Now and forever.Connor:Now and forever.I will make sure to return.Nothing will keep me away from you.Raven:*smirks*Maybe only a young lioness.Connor:*chuckles*I’ve killed enough to know I’ll survive.Raven:Uh~.So dangerous, please don’t kill me.Connor:Won’t dream of it.

Meanwhile, the 2 pairs of pranksters were actually enjoying the (partially) fake flirting. That is,until a certain British man came and got shocked at the display in front of him.He was scared that the Italian might have charmed his crush and he couldn’t let that happen!HE is the Unstoppable Jacob Frye!HE is the Master Prankster! And most important-HE loves Kim!He started making a strate-…Ha,nice joke.Don’t make it again.Jacob and plans?Grandma and the rifle.Ha.That’s Evie, not him. What he did was strut up to them confidently, with the best mischievous smirk, and cleared his throat.
Jacob:Hey Kimi~!Kim:Yes,J.J.~?Jacob:Wanna prank Altair?Kim:Hmmm…I dunno…I was having a nice conversation here…Jacob:*puppy face*C'mooon,Kimi~!You can have a nice conversation with me too,while we annoy that guy!Y'know you want it~!Kim:Hmm…fine,you got me!Leggo,British Frye!Jacob:My Lady~.
He kissed her hand and pulled her towards the kitchen, where Altair was enjoying a cup of coffee. He whispered the plan in her ear, making her shiver at the closeness and the intensity of his sexy baritone voice, which made her bite her lip and blush a bit.He hid around the outer corner of the room, while she carried out the prank, making the Arab’s coffee explode all over him, making him angry and chase the giggly girl.(Un)fortunately for her,she skipped to make the turn around the corner just as Jacob came out of his hiding spot, which resulted in a collision and Kim on top of Jacob, kissing. When they realized what was happening they both gasped in surprise and embarrassment, while Altair simply smirked and chuckled, going to change into clean clothes.
The redness on their cheeks was easily highlighted due to their pale skin, which made it all the more adorable in each other’s eyes, but it was too difficult for the troublemakers to utter any word, apart from incoherent apologies.
Getting a burst of confidence,he smirked faintly and put a hand at the back of her head, and kissed her again playfully, then gazed at her flustered face, enjoying every bit of it,then hugged her tightly. The girl was a blushing mess,so embarrassed that she almost fainted.
Jacob:Oh,toots, didn’t know you had a crush on me~!Kim:Shut up,you smug bastard!Jacob:By the likes of it,I think you sooo did~!Kim:Shut up!Don’t be silly!Jacob:There you weren’t trying to make me jealous, toots?Kim:Eh…eh…Eh?!Jacob:*winks*A little Italian bird told me.Kim:*gasps*That jerk,Auditore!!I’ll kill him!Jacob:Naaah, toots. If it weren’t for him,we wouldn’t be together.Kim:To-Together?Jacob:Oh yeah, right,I forgot to ask. Will you be my eternal pranking companion, toots~?Kim:But I’m the Pranking Master!Jacob:You’re the Pranking Queen, and I’m the King.YOUR King.Kim:Let’s see if you deserve that title, kid.Jacob:Kid?!I’m older than you!Kim:*sticks tongue out*Not by much.Jacob:*pouts*C'mon, toots!Prank time!
With glee sparkling in her eyes, she jolted up and ran to get her pranking kit.Behind her,Jacob held a smug smirk on his face, happy with his accomplishment. That damn girl made his heart skip a beat everytime he saw her. This love has surely taken its toll on him.

In the meantime,Kitsune and Malik forgot they were supposed to flirt, and just discussed Assassin missions in each country and era, their huge differences and they talked and talked, until Malik sighed.
Malik:I don’t think that idiot can get jealous.Kitsu:Oh riiiiight.I totally forgot why I came here. It’s too great talking to you.Malik:*chuckles*I know I’m great, little fox,but we’ll have to see how we can get that bastard see you.Kitsu:*shrugs*I could just sneak up on him and strike.Malik:That could work.Good luck,Foxy.Kitsu:*winks*I don’t need it.I make my own luck.
She silently and swiftly made her way to Altair’s room and saw the door half open. She knew it was time to strike.Being small and thin, she managed to get through the door without opening it further, and she saw the Arab in cause was going to throw the shirt in the laundry basket. She quickly hid under the bed and tried to study his moving pattern. That is until, instead of getting out of the room,he went to bed,to watch TV.The girl silently jaw-dropped annoyed, having to stay hidden, till she came with a brilliant idea. She used the sheathe of her katana to touch his foot, grabbing his attention.Once.Twice.Thrice.Until she finally managed to gain his attention,by making him stand up and look under the bed-Only to find nothing underneathe. The fox girl was, unbeknownst to him,on his bed, ready to strike. And she did,by jumping on him as soon as he raised up,making him stumble backwards in shock, with the knife to his attacker’s throat, whilst he himself had a dagger to their throat. The girl giggled, drawing back her dagger and sheathing it,as the man rolled his eyes, letting his knife drop to the floor.
Altair:What are you doing here.Kitsu:I got bore~d.You?Altair:It’s my room.I don’t remember inviting you here.Kitsu:*smirks*Memory loss?Altair:Not in the slightest.Kitsu:Such a pity~Altair:None at all.Kitsu:You’re hurting me,Altair.Deeply.Deeper than the Mariana Trench.Altair:I’d add salt if I could.Kitsu:You’re salty enough.Altair:Huh?Kitsu:Oops~.Modern expression.Nevermind~!Altair:Can you get off now?Kitsu:What,you don’t have enough strength to carry a 40 kilo girl?
He didn’t even blink and he took the girl just like Rafiki took Simba, then put her down, all while she was holding the most confused face.
Kitsu:How mean!Altair:Says the one invading my privacy.Kitsu:It’s not nice to talk like that to short people!Altair:And what would you expect me to do?Kitsu:On your knees, bitch.Altair:You wish.
The girl clicked her tongue, then jumped again in him, this time circling his torso with her legs, and resting her hands on his shoulders, looking at him from above and smirking.
Kitsu:Who’s the tall one now, huh?Altair:Still me.
He sighed and went to the bed, lowering her on it,then looked at her again.
Kitsu:How rude.Altair:You know what else is rude?Kitsu:You?Altair:You,teasing me.Kitsu:Eh?
He then got on the other side of the bed and put his hands on her face, slowly leaning down to kiss her.Needless to say,she was shocked, but she giggled, and while kissing him,she stole his Assassin necklace and bolted out of the room, with him on her tail, cursing in Arabic. She quickly climbed a tree outside and jumped from branch to branch.Soon enough,Altair made his was to the small forest and started looking around for the giggly girl, who striked again. She jumped down on a lower branch, then she swung down, and kissed Altair Spiderman-like.Then,she let go and started slowly dangling her fire hair around.
Kitsu:*smirks*By fire,be purged, bitch.Altair:If it’s your fire,I’d get purged every damn day.Kitsu:Oh my,since when are you such a charmer?Altair:Fate has brought me a gift to be cherished.Kitsu:A gift that you don’t want to hug and keep close?Altair:Come here.
He gently put his hands in her waist, and as she let herself fall off the branch,he caught her holding her bridal style.
Kitsu:Not bad~.Altair:I know.
With that, she threw her arms arounds his neck and started kissing him playfully, nibbling on his scar from time to time and teasing him.
With that all 3 ships have officially sailed.
