The Four Horsemen of Flatland Art Styles

+ a personal style i came up with.

These are the ones I know of/have seen/draw, and how I refer to them. If you have come up with or seen any other styles let me know ::D

I usually alternate between these styles when drawing depending on mood or the drawing's scene's tone or what characters I'm drawing.

1- "Simply shapes" or faceless or plain style idk

basically they are Just shapes and lines. Colorless/grayscale perhaps. No organs or facial features: merely shapes. Maybe ur tired of this anti chromatist non sense, you just wanna have fun with the shapes, so you color their insides. Pretty simple.

The 1965 Flatland short film is a great example. It is also very great. Go watch it! ::D

2- "Bi-dimensional cellular organisms" AKA Flatland Film style

They look like bacteria lol. Pretty identifiable! have one eye and mouth on one of their sides and little hairs all over! Usually also have simple visible organs, and a characteristic cog shaped brain.

You may either draw Women as stiff lines like in the film, or as bendy lines like snakes.

3- "Bill Cipher" or "Flat Dreamers" style

The shapes are simple, occasionally colored on the insides or bearing patterns. Occasionally also wear clothes or accessories! They usually have one eye on their inside and limbs.

4- "Insides out" or charseraph style

I believe it was charseraph who came up w/this. Correct me if I am wrong ::D

This style portrays a more realistic organ design/arrangement, and is most prominent by the fangs or beaks of the Flatlanders! It is easier to distinguish from the bacteria style because it lacks eyes and hairs/cilia.

Bonus: I made the last/extra style based on non-Euclidean geometry. The style and the world of Flatland inspired by it arent finished yet as I am barely learning about this topic. I will post about it soon though ::D it also bears my view of Flatlander organs, with really the only interesting thing to note being that they have 1 lung and it works more like an accordion than a balloon. Kinda like bug breathing. Will make post on Flat Biology laterrr.

Note: Yeah I forgot about Shapehumans, Humanified Flatlanders, and the Flatland Movie. Cuz I don't draw in those styles. But hey I'm acknowledging them right now !!!

Random thoughts about We Are episode 2:

Let's go back to Uni to follow the story of multiple characters and couples.

Pheem has agreed to be the "slave" of Phum until he can draw again his painting. So far, Phum has not been so bad to him. He made him carry his shopping bags and buy him drinks and food. I've seen worst. Sometimes, I feel like Phum either knew about Pheem before and found a convenient way to have the painter around him or he felt in love a la "Domyouji" when Pheem kicked him. I don't know, he seems really happy to hang around Pheem so that's why I drew this conclusion. The flowers and the smile are easy to fool me. They may not be my favorite couple in the series, but they are interesting.

Tan got his "date" with Phum's brother, Fang. It was a bit cringe. I felt bad for him during the whole date. I mean, it's obvious, he is interested in Fang and I don't think he missed it too, but he is so bad at flirting with him. Can someone help him, please?! I believe Fang knows about Tan's crush. Maybe, he feels like it's going to pass and indulge him because he knows Tan is his younger brother's friend and nothing more (yet) for him. If he doesn't know, he needs to check his eyesight because Tan is literally devouring him with his eyes.

So, we got the confirmation about Toey joining the Art field because of Q. So it was kinda love at first sight, I guess. Toey is cute. I want him to be able to end up with his mentor because he seems to try his best to impress him. Q is also a softie when it comes to Toey. He is not in love with him but maybe he will notice it. I just hope Toey is better at flirting than Tan. I found their scene quite sweet when Q was taking care of a drunk Toey who was resting on Q's knees while waiting for a cab to go home. When he was fanning him with his hands, I found that it was really kind.

Unfortunately, we got nothing from the couple I'm the most excited about "Mom friend falls for disaster gay" aka Chain and Pun (I'm using the perfect description from heretherebedork). I can just say that I love Pun with all my heart. He is hilarious and I just want the best for him. Stay true to yourself, Pun!

Isn't he cute?!

He may not be the best cook, but he is passionate about cooking!

Apart from the romance, I found the small scene with the teacher to be really interesting. It tackles the idea of art and what we perceives to be a "good" art. I was really touched by what the teacher said to Pheem when he was doubting about the quality of his painting.

Anyway, I found this episode interesting and I wonder what the next one will bring.

OC Info Post: Bonnabel de Saint-Germain

(This is most certainly my most self-indulgent and somehow also my most thought-out OC. Enjoy my unadulterated silliness)

@drewadoodle hi here's the mansion baby (apparently i have one for the castle trio too except that one's fully an adult so if I post her I can tag you in that one too if ya want)

General:

Full name: Bonnabel de Saint-Germain

Nickname: Bonnie, Bon-Bon (Arthur specific), Bell (Theo and Vincent specific)

Birthday: November 8th

Likes: Outdoors, Pastries, Mousette, Reading

Dislikes: Sour Flavors, Math, Rules

Background: A mysterious infant showed up on Le Comte de Saint-Germain’s doorstep one night during a banquet with the residents, and she’s been called his daughter ever since. All she came with was a homemade birth certificate, a stuffed toy of a pastel blue bat, and a wax-sealed letter. The contents of said letter are only known to Comte and Leonardo and he has refused to share it with anyone else, even Bonnie herself. A strange injection Bonnabel took as a newborn has made it so that they are unable to detect what kind of vampire she is, though Comte doesn’t seem too concerned about that fact…

Through the Ages

(aka the main differences between Bonnabel’s different ages without getting into deep spoilers because I’m writing a fic with her hehe.) (Bonnabel is almost always portrayed in the Childhood stage. Sometimes teenage [mostly with castle trio])

Childhood– Bonnabel, wild and carefree. Don’t even try to make her sit still– she’ll bite your hands with dull, stubby fangs until you let her go. The biggest nuisance and agent of chaos the house has seen in a while. Temper tantrums and dramatic outbursts are common, and as a vampire, she’s really yet to understand her strength. Still… There is something endearing about her reckless abandon and pure fascination with life. She’s sweet and kind all the same, she just has her moments.

Teenage years– Outdoor play time has turned into calm walks through the garden and snack time is now tea time. Although Bonnabel’s matured since being in single digits, everyone can tell something about her is just… off. Maybe it’s the way she’s shy about everything, how reclusive she’s become, how utterly captivated she is by space, or perhaps the way she’s withdrawn from everything other than her studies. Her self-image couldn’t be worse (how could she ever compare to the greats of history she lived amongst, really?), and she’s really been pestering Comte about her past as of late.

Adulthood– Bonnabel, after many, many challenges, trial and errors, heartbreaks, and betrayal, has finally grown into her own skin. Well, sort of. She’s gained back some of the excitement she had when she was a little girl, but it’s been distilled into a fine wit and humor. Now, she simply does as she pleases, whether that be studying something to the point of burning into her brain to simply staying in all day and catching up on some novels. She’s a vampire! She’s got all the time in the world to get things right.

Physical:

Eye color: A pale orange, with slight hints of crimson in her pupils. It’s not very noticeable from far away but in the right sunlight it’s a bit more

Hair color- Sandy blonde, like Vincent’s hair. Just a bit more colorful than that.

Disabilities- Undiagnosed because of the century, but most certainly has ADHD and dyscalculia (unable to some basic math)

Height- Childhood: 4’1, Teenage: 5’0, Adulthood: 5’11

(i dont have any drawings so um yeah i just used to ikevamp doll haha)

Relationships:

I’ll be splitting the characters into archetypes– how Bonnabel sees each of the residents as a family unit, then going a bit more in-depth.

Brothers– Arthur, Vincent, Theo, Isaac, Napoleon, Jean

– Napoleon: The big brother. No matter how Bonnabel’s feeling, whether she wants to play or vent to him, he’ll make time available. Bonnabel likes hiding and cuddling into his cape and constantly pesters him to teach her fencing. Instead, he’ll teach her how to cook pastries (it’s not like Jean or Vincent are going to do it).

– Arthur: He’s the one Bonnabel goes to if she wants to get away with something or is bored out of her mind. He’s the fun brother and almost lets her get away with anything. Especially when it comes to teasing Isaac. He’ll also sneak her chocolates from time to time. She loves playing detective with him and likes to act out scenes from books with him. Plus, Vic and Bonnie are utterly enamored with each other, so it’s always a good time with Arthur.

– Vincent and Theo: How could they not feel like her big brothers? Vincent is the only person Bonnie is nice to no matter her mood and he’ll let her watch him paint if she’s ever interested. They tried finger-painting when she was little, but she tried to eat the paint and it’s been banned for the time being.

Theo, on the other hand… It’s a bit more tenuous. Bonnabel didn’t understand being called a mutt or pup was a sign of affection at first, but the two clicked once the misunderstanding was cleared up. As a little girl, Bonnabel drew a picture of all three of them holding hands with both Vincent and Theo titled ‘big brothers’ and that might be the closest Theo was to ever crying in front of his brother. He now has it framed in his room.

– Isaac, Mozart, and Jean: All in the same boat- didn’t get along at first, but later on they became close. Mozart’s relationship with loud and wild Bonnabel is… strange, but he does seem to be able to talk sense in her. She only recently got unbanned from the music room. Mozart’s bedroom is still off limits. Isaac was wary of her (especially because she liked Arthur so much), but they get along once she’s older and quieter. Sometimes they stargaze together. Jean has always been kind to her, but never got too close. Well, until Bonnabel insisted they study reading together and now it’s not uncommon to see them reading fairy tales together. Jean has promised to teach Bonnabel fencing one day, too, behind Comte’s back.

Weird Uncles– Dazai and William

Dazai: Dazai is a nutcase, but in a fun way! He’s always speaking in riddles, but at least he’s not boring, right? She doesn’t interact with him that much, but when she does, she’s surprised by the words of wisdom she receives. She also has joined forces with him to absolutely torment Isaac, except she’s the one who has to apologize and learn a lesson. He’s fun, just weird.

William: Bonnabel doesn’t see him often. When she does, Puck is close behind and the girl and rabbit become inseparable. Bonnabel is utterly infatuated with Puck and gives him all of her attention, booping his cute little nose at every chance. The one bad thing about seeing Will is, well… tiny little Bonnabel can’t understand him at all. Vincent or Comte have to translate for her if they ever visit the villa because she’s too shy to ask him to speak simpler.

Parents– Leonardo and Comte

Comte: Dearest papa! It’s his life mission to make sure Bonnabel never has to know a day of pain or fear. Sure, perhaps the idea of raising her without the same pressures of nobility and vampirism that he did is a selfish wish, but she’s smiling everyday in the mansion. He has to be doing something right, right? Comte was Bonnabel’s whole world as a little girl. Going into her teenage years, their relationship becomes strained, much to Comte’s confusion and sorrow. (And yes, the pun in Bonnabel's name was intentional, even if he tries to deny it).

Leonardo: Babbo! Whenever there’s a Comte level matter but Bonnabel’s worried he’ll be mad at her, she goes to Leonardo. While hugging Comte smells like fine wine and perfumes, Leonardo smells like book pages and cigars. Both scents have become safe places for her. They take naps together a lot. Especially when Bonnabel is upset. Sometimes she’ll find him sleeping on the floor and join him because she’s bored, using his chest as a pillow. A lot of Bonnabel’s toys and even her bed are made by him.

Auntie and ‘Mama–’ MC/Mitsuki and Sebastian

– When Bonnabel was learning how to talk, she called Sebastian ‘Mama’ and it kind of stuck. Nowadays, she just calls him Sebby (he’s not the biggest fan, but nothing he’d really want to complain about), but sometimes they still joke about that name despite Bonnabel having zero recollection of it. Unfortunately, Bonnabel almost never listens to what Sebastian has to say unless he flicks her forehead.

Mitsuki was called Auntie from the start. Bonnabel respects her a lot and will mostly listen to her authority, so she is definitely more of an aunt than a sister to her. This is also due to Mitsuki having to help Comte in certain aspects of raising her, such as bathtime and the likes. A part of their strong connection simply is the fact they’re the only women in the mansion.

BONUS! Castle Trio (met at Teenage Stage)

Charles-Henri: After a bit of apprehension, they get along pretty well. Whenever Bonnabel starts stressing out, Charles will pop up and distract her with games, food, or something else. He also tends to encourage any of her fixations no matter what, when, how and why.

Faust: Bonnabel is completely creeped out by him, but… He seems to know her somehow. Sort of like an uncle you haven’t seen in years but keep telling you things they remember. Bonnabel thinks he might know about her birth parents, but she's too shy and nervous to ask him. He’s… polite, at least. Doesn’t seem to try and bother her very much, but he still gives odd vibes. She does not want to be alone in a room with him.

Vlad: Oh… him. Yeah. It’s weird. On one hand, they have a shared trauma they can bond over, and on the other, he’s trying to hurt her family. Sure, he saved her from certain death that one time, but his dream has become so twisted she can’t help but distrust him. Still, it’s not as if they don’t get along. Actually, they have a lot more in common than one might think.

"You don't know what I am."

Here he is! He was a ton of fun, it really indulged the part of me that's still like "but what if dark hair and heavy eye makeup?" every time I design a character.

I had to redraw some of the mouth because I wanted him to have some little fangs. I also put his eyebrows in a slightly more evil position, very important.

And of course, the hoodie. I was still very proud of the ribcage frost design I gave him on my old drawing, so I had to bring it back for this one. At some point I will have to do a proper full-body drawing of Dark Jack.

Anyway, Dark Jack, AKA: -Jack after hearing a single G note played on a piano. -Jack after being corrupted by the Venom symbiote. -"A lot of preps stared at me. I put up my middle finger at them." -When you go into his setting and select "Dark Mode." -"It's not a phase, Manny!"

finished my modern Danny Temple redesign, aka Krait

he's basically had his own solo's worth of character development off screen (rip the Kid Kobra solo that never was) but remains fundamentally Good Aligned and wanting to help people.

it's just, yknow.

he was born in a lab, raised by robots alongside his Evil Twin, and then kidnapped age 14 to lead an ancient snake-worshipping cult into an age of chaos and destruction. his holiday reading list is 'books about conjoined twins' and textbooks on molecular biology. he's a little fucked up! his moral compass points weird directions sometimes!

he got reptilian features after an attempted assassination, where his remaining loyal Kobra followers saved him via Snake-Themed Genetic Enhancements since they no longer had access to a lazarus pit.

he gains some snakey abilities (able to perceive heat signatures, stronger than a baseline human, enhanced senses and regenerative healing, cool fangs!) as well as becoming more susceptible to cold

in conclusion: he's still alive out there and one day a writer might bring him back, but until then he can live rent free in my head and on my blog

fun fact his face scales are bc I had glastonbury on while I was drawing and every time it cut to audience shots somebody was wearing glitter in this pattern. I was influenced

bonus ideas for those who got this far:

I like to think that, considering how fucked up the dc universe is, Danny's sect of Kobra believe the world has already entered the Kali-Yuga (age of chaos) and now they have to try and steer it into the coming age of peace and prosperity instead.

that's why they never show up again during future Kobra plotlines, the rest of Kobra thinks they're heretics so they just spend their time organising secret underground snake-themed mutual aid groups

the only remnant of my brief dsmp phase is the fact "woe to the people of order" is still saved in the depths of my enormous mp3 collection. which i put on shuffle. so now it's back in my brain. but also this song needs exactly zero alterations to work as an early (pre-unification) alternian legend. there's litterally direct references to characters' horns and wings (shlatt and philza are both valid troll names; purple and bronze respectively imo).

anyway now if feel like drawing "Chiefslayer Edgeboar" aka, Tichno Billat; goldblooded (4 horns in crown-like configuration, large lower fang "tusks") anarchist folk-hero who died of voidrot in his prime

a/n: I haven’t read all the books and I’m not planning to do so. I got through till order of the phoenix and it was already a battle on my side. I hate the books and Harry’s character, I’m sorry. So if there is something not making sense canon vise here or any of my future writings, that’s why.

One of the things that always strikes me as odd, that Voldy isn’t that scary(?) or gruesome as the main villain of the story. Based on the things we learn about him, we never see much of his actions. I think his character would’ve been more interesting if we see more horror fuel stuff from him … or just him to do anything .I also imagine him looking more reptile like and terrifying.

An eerie feeling froze the blood in the participants' veins, as they heard the sound of naked feet tapping on the dark, marble floors. The patting was mixed with the sound of skales flowing on the shiny surface, omitting a low hissing ring.

The Malfoy manor was silent, even more so than usual. An unnatural stillness covered the building from top to bottom. It felt like the house was sick to its bone, trying to sweat its uninvited guests out.

This stillness was thick like fog, and was silently screaming into their ears.

The halls were dark, only illuminated by flowing candles, which lended the naked legged creature an even more haunted look. It was a stretch to call that being a man, because he wasn’t. Not anymore. He tossed away his humanity long ago, when the first part of his soul got torn out from his chest and shoved into an object.

Killing, consuming, ruling.

More power, more fear in hearts, more torment in minds.

The Dark Lord was walking slowly towards his ‘throne’ at the end of the long, gloomy table.

His cold figure casted a long shadow on the dark void of the floor, making it look even more ghostly.

He appeared as a mutated skeleton in the huge chair, swallowed by the fabric of his long, inky cape. His spider-leg-fingers lacked any meat or muscle, there was only paper thin stretched skin on the bones. As their gaze anxiously traveled up on skinny arms and on clothing, they saw a wretched neck first, not leaving anything to imagination. Every artery was bulging out, mercilessly working to keep the creature amongst the living, fueled by dark magic. The veins created an uneven surface of his porcelain skin, sticking out then diving back into bones.

When their eyes got used to the view of their horrific embroidery, they met with The Eyes. They sat deep in the dark holes of the reptile skull. They were glowing with a reddish light and burning with an icy flame. They lacked any kind of warmth that illuminated the orbs of men, they rather hid well contained violence and the enjoyment of other’s pain. His pupils were two lines as if a snake, cutting the red irises in half. Their look was hard and cruel, expanding in a cat-like manner when seeing something innocent breaking.

The shape of his skull tossed away the resemblance of a human’s, it borrowed the build of a reptile. If possible, the skin became even whiter and thinner than on the hands, in some places forming skale like growth around the eyes and mouth. The flesh of his nose has rotted away, leaving two empty holes in its place. The jaw extended, became longer and wider, bearing many shark-like teeth, with 4 huge fangs. The tongue became long and V shaped, having the ability to smell for prey.

There he sat at the long table, Nagini twirling around his neck and hissing something into his elf-like ears, smiling spine chillingly at his audience.

“Malfoy, why don’t you introduce me to your son?”

The voice that broke the silence was low, almost a whisper, but ran through the hall clearly. It was a strict sound, not tolerating anything but full obey of its orders.

The scarlet irises turned towards a young man, with shiny blond hair, pale face and big, gray eyes. He was wearing nothing but black which made his nervous paleness sickly.

“Perfect” - hissed the Lord while rotted away lips twitched into a terrifying smile, showing his huge sharp teeth.

🍭🍬 Candy Collecting 🍬 🍭

🎃 Hope you guys had a great Halloween! 🎃

How did your Halloween go? For me, it was honestly a whole lotta fun. Yeah, it did get kinda boring after a while once 9 o’clock rolled around, because a lot of people either went home or to a different part of my neighborhood.

I had a blast, though, I was the one passing out candy, and if you didn’t see my previous post on here, I dressed up as Tiffany AKA, the Bride of Chucky, and I had my talking Chucky doll on my lap while I was passing out candy. A lot of people really loved my Chucky doll and costume, I even met someone who was also dressed up as Chucky, and we both just started fangirling 😭

Though there were some little kids who were absolutely terrified of my Chucky doll that they didn’t even want to get the candy, so I just passed it off to their parents instead, so they could give it to their kids. Honestly, I don’t blame those kids at all whatsoever, if I was their age, I would have been scared too 💀

Speaking of costumes, I saw a lot of really cool horror costumes, I saw some Wednesdays, Moritias, Chuckys, Jasons, and a lot of Freddy Kruegers and Michael Myers. Though funnily enough, I didn’t see any Ghostfaces or Megans. I also saw a lot of cool non-horror costumes, I saw some Disney Princesses, Marios, and Sonics, and I even saw a few dressed people dressed up as Glamrock Freddy, Huggy Wuggy, Patrick, and motherfreaking Barney, so uh yeah that was a thing lol

And there was this one family that was all dressed up as Demon Slayer characters, and it was pretty wholesome 💕

As for my art, this is a follow-up of my silly little AU that I posted a while ago, and if you haven’t seen it, here’s the TL;DR version of it; it’s an AU that takes place in the very first Child’s Play movie, Chucky is not a serial killer (but he’s still a major douchebag), and still lives with the Barclays (Andy and his mom, Karen).

This picture was also made as a (belated) birthday gift to one of my closest online friends, RobTheAlien on Amino, Deviantart, and Twitter. I made her a Chucky-related gift for her last year, so why not make another one for her, we both really love the series <3

For the context of the art, Halloween started rolling around, and both Andy and Chucky were super hyped to dress up and get some candy, mostly Chucky because he had a little plan up his sleeve. Basically, since Chucky is well, y’know… a doll, he looked to be around the average height of a toddler.

So, his plan was that while they were trick-or-treating, he could get Andy to tell the neighbors that he was bringing along his, “baby brother, Tommy”, and that it was his first time going trick-or-treating. The neighbors would give the both of them candy, thinking that Chucky was his, “brother”, and thus, they would get double the candy (and double the diabetes as well 😋).

At first, Andy was against the idea, since it didn’t feel right to trick the neighbors in a selfish way to get some sweets, but Chucky managed to convince him that they could have the biggest candy collection in the entire neighborhood, with all of the candy a kid his age could ever want and eventually gave in to the idea. He also decided to dress Chucky up as a ghost to make the whole thing look more convincing.

At first, I wanted to draw Andy alongside Chucky but didn’t feel like it because A. I wanted to make the art less time-consuming, and B. I ain’t very good at drawing little kid characters. But I will say that he did dress up as a vampire, complete with fake fangs and everything, and maybe I might make fanart with the both of them together in their costumes in the future.

As for the art itself, I really loved how it turned out. I was farting around with the filters on IbisPaint X, and I eventually chose the exclusion filter, and I felt like it was perfect for this art, ‘cause I wanted to go for an indie kidcore-type vibe for it. And as for the candies I chose for the picture, I basically just googled, “What types of candy were popular in the 80s?”, and I eventually went with the three candies you’re currently seeing in the picture.

Honestly, the only candy I really like out of the three are Skittles, I don’t think I’ve ever tried a Charleston Chew or Baby Ruth before. But what’s your guys' favorite candy? 👀

You know if we wanna be perfectly fair to the show the games themselves show a portraial of the Church that is mostly negative

We've talked about Sypha being taken in by monks and accepted as a vampire hunter by the Church...but was she really accepted?

I mean she was forced to wear robes and hide her gender to throw people off from her being a witch (presumably), which tells me that the Church only "accepted" her as a weapon to be used, not as her own human being that would like to live free from persecution. At best you could say that the monastery that took her in was being genuine but there's nothing to imply that the larger institution saw her as anything more than a tool, especially given the witch trials at the time

Leon had to give up his title to go rescue Sera because otherwise the Church wouldn't allow to go because they were more interested in fighting heretics than go rescue a kidnapped girl

Vincent as a priest is depicted as being somewhat greedy and a little seedy

I'm pretty sure that both Isaac and Hector faced persecution and Rosaly was killed because of it

Yeah the Church often helps out against Dracula....but it kind of has to or face destruction

So I don't have issues with the show's CHURCH BAD from a principled standpoint since the Church has been, and in many ways still is, bad.

The issue is how hard and often it beats you over the head with it and how there isn't a single religious person that isn't depicted as either evil or stupid, not to mention characters like Trevor, who in Castlevania 3 was seen praying at an altar, being turned into a cynical atheist.

In the games God exists, the holy items that the Belmonts, who are presumably all believers, use draw their powers from Him essentially and we are explicitly told in the Sorrow games that Chaos and the Dark Lord exist as counterbalances to God. The games never seem to criticise the notion of believing in God, just the way said belief is institutionalised.

The only time God is ever called into question is by Mathias for Elisabetha's death, which calls into question the usual conundrum of "but if God is good why are there bad things?", and he feels like a fool for ever fighting for God...but he's also depicted as being in the wrong with how he....expresses his disappontment. Meanwhile Leon certainly is never depicted as being an idiot or in the wrong for simply being a believer, only for being a former Crusader Knight fighting heretics for the Church aka an often corrupt institution.

Hell Rinaldo, an Alchemist and technically heretic, also believes in God given his description of alchemy, and he's a 100% positive figure, just one who has seemingly suffered persecution by the Church as indicated by the way he approached Leon at first

I actually like the scene with "Blue Fang" where he says that God does not love people like the corrupt bishop and does not recognise himself in their actions. That is a much more nuanced take!

We know that Church Bad. This is not a new take. Church Bad in real life, Church Even More Bad in the time period CV3/the show takes place, and Church Morally Questionable in the games too for all the reasons you said. Yes, in short, you can say that in the games God is good and so are the people who genuinely believe in Him like the Belmonts, but the Church as an institution has caused many problems. (although I like that it's the Pope himself who finds Trevor in CV3, when his family was shunned by common humans - there seems to be a misconception that it was the Church who exiled them)

NFCV simply doesn't add anything new, and beats on this point as if we didn't get it by the time the bishops all celebrate to themselves after executing Lisa. All the church people are evil, and the humans are purposefully kept ignorant by the Church, unlike vampires who are superior because they retain old knowledge and that's why Dracula has a whole magitek castle complete with electricity and teleporter instead of a creature of Chaos at his command. It's just boring. Berserk treated the same argument in a less "reddit athetist" way.

And I have mentioned the water-blessing zombie bishop a lot of times, I know, not my fault it's so fucking stupid. But it says a lot that fans point at it and instead of seeing it as a lore-breaking deus ex machina, they see clever commentary that the bishop is more "holy" as an undead creature possessed by a demon.

(I apologize for the lack of posting. I have been lacking in motivation for awhile and a suffering art block. I've been busy with stuff like school and have been trying to get back into the habit of posting more frequently again But for now, I present to you all a complete list of the Salt AUs. Nightshade is fem Nightmare. 4' 0'' She hates men and anyone that looks traditionally masculine. She dislikes owls and likes cats. Her tentacles have little suction cups along the tips. Sass quen. Erratum is fem Error. 3' 7'' She wears sunglasses and a feather boa. Crucifix is fem Cross. 3' 11'' Dusk is fem Dust. 3' 3'' She wears a cat hoodie. She is secretly very cutesy. I imagine her as being the only Salt that is tall enough to be able to look her Sans counterpart in the eye. Loves to draw plants and flowers. Has a little ink wig. Beryl is fem Blue. 3' 0'' Beryl is the smallest out of everybody, including the Sanses. Pegasister (Her fav is Fluttershy). Petite queen. She likes to make churros. Never wears makeup, still looks perfect. Switch is fem Swap. 3' 4'' Lulu is fem Lust. 3' 5'' Fang is fem Fell. 3' 5'' Sassy lady. Clarity is fem Classic. 3' 4''

Chiato is fem Ccino. 3' 2'' Sometimes wears a maid outfit.

Gael is fem Geno. 3' 5'' Realm is fem Reaper. 3' 7'' Fresco is fem Fresh. 4' 8'' She is nowhere near as tall as Fresh, but she is tall compared to the other Salts. Error totally thinks she's hot. Scilla is fem Science. 3' 2'' Total nerd girl. (As per usual I don't care what you use them for. These Salts are only partially my creations. I just took the original characters, made them female with a new name, and gave them my own personal spin to them. True origins of my muses' names, their parents will certainly say something else.

Ito Futaba: Going through the list of names, I stuck by the letter F as far as I remember, as I see it rarely and there did not seem too many japanese names with F I think. I liked that it could be shortened to Fu, like fuck u (she's half american), but also it sounds cute. Then there is the word Futa in it, and considering her body built and everything, one could associate her to it. I bet it came through Fang's mind, considering she draws hentai, especially when hearing that Fu is into pegging, aka what are the odds for such coincidence. Ito was just nicely short surname.

Jeon Seung-Jae: His inspo comes from a show character, and it sure was tempting to keep it, since it would have three J's in it (fitting his stylish self), but I try to avoid same letters (had Jiro, Jin during that time).

Gao Fang: I'm sure this one was mainly sound, perhaps meaning too. But I ended up liking the word play the most, when you say it like this: Fang Gao, it sounds a bit like Van Gogh, ... meanwhile she does not share anything with said artist. I just found it funny.

Ginjo Kugo: ... canon name asdfghj. Loving it.

Kamiya Akira: His surname means god valley or something, where I liked to think it sounds pretty pretentious, which I liked for him, well he picked the name himself anyway. Akira comes from that famous movie, just found it cool. But I also liked the Akira in Devilman.

Ohara Kenzo: Formerly known as Jin (avoiding J's), finally using Kenzo which was the name of the show character he was inspired from. Ohara is picked now, due to a certain spider man - I could not resist when seeing it on the list of japanese surnames.

Mo Bo-ra: same case with Futaba, I guess I like being a bit mean to my OC's or wordplays? Due to her big bosom, you can easily insult her, call her cow. Cue the Mo. Yknow like Mooh. Bo-ra I was surprised to find in korean names, because I heard it first time in some comedy western movie. So I picked it, so really just mild fondness for the name and finding it neat. The character from the movie doesn't share anything with my OC.

Nishika Pavar: I think I got that name during taking a shower but its origins remain a mystery, but I think it is a indian name but I never remain too sure. Pavar was taken for the sound. Thought they fit nicely.

Sugawara Jiro: Also taken directly from a show character he is inspired from. Sugawara happened after I liked the song That That, where Suga sung... and luckily there existed a surname with -wara at the end.

Green Goblin (AKA Greenie AKA Michael Osborn)

He was a streamer and social media manager for Oscorp but showed pretty much no potential to be the next head of the company so in his anger he stole some thing for a project that was supposed to make some kind of super hero or monster or something g who knows but he drinks it and he turns green gets sharp teeth pointed ears and acidy spit! he’s a gross little freak who bites and spits on people his little pumpkin bombs are full of his own spit because it’s like green and orange and gross he is so so disgusting YUCK YUCKY LITTLE MAN!!! also instead of the little hoverboard that green goblin usually has he has COOL BOOTS idk what his universe is like yet tho i imagining a lot of skater imagery and such if that makes sense? sort of like,,, jet set radio? a little? very fast paced place!!!)

The Vulture (AKA THE BEAST OF THE VIDEO STORE aka Michael Tooms)

A disgruntled worker at a video store and lover of monster movies, Michael Tooms loves not only to watch the movies but to replicate props from them, collect them and discuss them. But one day after a particular run in with an escaped lab bird… he BECAME a movie monster! Claws and feathers! Beaks and fangs!! The Vulture is coming to a video store near YOU!!!

i like to think his crimes consist of him stealing movie things and just shiny stuff that he kinda hoards away in his old store (that has since been wrecked and turned into a bird monster nest)

Electro (AKA Ellie AKA Michael Dillon)

A 60s scientist who was just trying to show the marvels of super computing to children when a lighting strike hit the building just so and trapped his very soul and being in the electricity of the building itself! He is a being of pure electricity and i imagine he’s very shaped! sort of like jerry from the movie soul (he’s made from one line of electricity idk idk! i want to draw him but i have had no draw skill lately)

Doc Ock (AKA Doktor Oktopus AKA Virgil Octavius)

I don’t have much for him but his extra arms are more doll like in nature with joints and human like hands and what all i am very very inspired by old automatons, specifically the one created by David Roentgen that plays harpsichord !! so the design is there but the story is not :0

Mysterio (AKA Michael Beck)

His is the closest to the og character of the bunch, he is a guy with a big interest in practical effects but since that job is kinda defunct (for the most part) he turns to like crime or something idk this might change!! i haven’t put much thought into this one!!!

Venom (Michael Brock)

I am running out of steam he is a weirdo victorian/steampunky doctor who is studying the symbiote very weird sleep deprived man!
