Video of Long COVID researchers responding that yes, they still mask indoors, primarily because they don't want LC.

If the smartest minds studying this condition are “wearing a mask because they are concerned about developing #LongCovid” — don’t pretend you know better than them. Just acknowledge you’re OK rolling the dice.

The story of Aemond and Alys can be so dramatic. I really want to see how these feelings drive Aemond crazy. He hates bastards, he hates the Strongs, but falls in love with a woman who is very likely both. Did he hate himself for these feelings? Did he hate Alys? Did he still crave her with every cell of his body? Did he feel that he had let his family down by loving her? How did he react to her pregnancy? Did he want to be the father figure he never had himself? Infinite potential.

Why don't you like Ghoap?
Ah, thank you for being the first to ask, Anon! Hope you're having a wonderful day.
So, the reason I don't really ship Ghoap is because I simply don't see them romantically? I see them more like brothers? I absolutely adore them as those types of big brothers-little brothers dynamic. The only form I ever ship them is with Gaz in it. Can't help it, I'm a whore for my baby girl to get love!
But I will also say this, with no offense to anyone, but they tend to make him such a submissive little guy who can't touch anyone without Ghost being around or as if he can't function without having to hold Ghost's hand. Technically, this guy is a big player of boom booms. Enjoys exploding things. He's a soldier. And he isn't afraid to get down and dirty. Just look at the MWIII campaign. The way he MANHANDLED Makarov was just... yeah. Don't get me wrong, to each with their own, but it's simply not for me.
I have no problem with the whole Soap being the bottom and whatnot. But that doesn't mean you need to make him into a super submissive guy who is so fragile. Especially with how men are seen these days in society regarding the LGBTQ+ community. Which, really, we shouldn't give a fuck because LGBTQ+ FTW! But I'm sure you'll understand.
I've also noticed how some people tend to only give Soap attention because of Ghost. And it saddens me that he's only mentioned and seen for the ship. Now, I know that some people love him for his character - including myself, mind you. But there's others who don't really even know who he is and simply enjoy Ghoap. Don't even get me started on the people who haven't played the game and just.. mhm, yeah.
Anyway, that's just my opinion, and everyone is allowed to do whatever they want. ♡

I don't understand why people claim Al*s is going to be the only person the !Show Aemond ever cared about. Like we already know he's a dutiful son. He's also very protective towards Helaena (he literally shields his sister with his own body when Rhaenys ruins Aegon's coronation). In addition, Aemond's twisted relationship with Aegon is really interesting. I'd also say he's a father figure to Helaena's kids (judging from their reaction to Alicent, calling for her father Otto ❤️). Imo it will be such a pity if they reduce the realm of Aemond's feelings and emotions to just obsessing over his love interest.
Hello!
This will not happen, I am one hundred percent sure.
Alys stans says this because she wants to.
We have already seen Aemond in the first season: he takes care of his mother, Helaena, and children. I don't believe he will leave his family. Regarding Aegon, everything is complicated, Aemond demonstrates hostility (?) towards Aegon, there is no brotherly love between them (!). Relationship between Aegon and Aemond: "You may cuff him about as you wish at home, but in the world, we must defend our own" Sorry, but this is a fact. Perhaps everything will change in the second season? I really hope so.
Aemond doesn't abandon his family, not even in the book, I don't believe he did that, I think there's a lot left unsaid and unrevealed. Alicent said: "The city is yours, princess, but you won’t hold it for long. Rats play when the cat is away, but my son Aemond will return with fire and blood" Alicent knew her son better, and she knew that he would not leave her and Helaena. There must be a serious reason.
"Prince Aemond favored an immediate attack upon King’s Landing. None of the queen’s dragons were a match for Vhagar, he insisted"
I don’t like the character Alys, I’m not sure that I will have a different relationship with the show Alys. She looks a lot like Mysaria. I think Alys mur***ed all her children to preserve her youth - that's what you read between the lines.
I can’t support alysmond because I don’t believe in this ship, I don’t believe that there was love between them. Aemond destroyed House Strong, just as Aegon the Conqueror destroyed the family of Harren Hoar. alysmond is a crack ship, as if Harren had a daughter who, after her family was destroyed, fell in love with Aegon and had a child with him (If Helaena had fallen in love with Daemon). Maybe "stockholm sy***ome"? The whole story of alysmond is like a rumor - a rumor that Alys spread to establish his power in Harrenhal. Why didn't she save Aemond if she knew he was going to die and did she love him? Because from Alys’s side, Aemond’s death is an excellent revenge for the house Strong.
I think Alys will manipulate Aemond by threatening his family that she saw them die. I think there will be a deal between Alys and Aemond: he will spare her life, and she will look to the future for him.
I also don't believe Alys's child is Aemond's. You know, it’s very strange that she didn’t contact Aegon to make her son heir and marry him to Jaehaera. Alys called her son king, “kneel before your king,” but did not fight for his rights. Maybe because he is not Aemond's son? Maybe because she used this child, and when she realized that she had lost, she mur***ed him to preserve her youth? There are a lot of questions.
Aemond is a supporter of valyrian traditions “...strengthen the family. Keep our Valyrian blood pure” I don’t believe that after these words he voluntarily decided to conceive a child with Alys Rivers and be with her. Maybe Alys is a hidden Valyrian or Targaryen? (lmao)
It's funny that many of the TG (I'm not anti-TG) love alysmond ship, but condemn demira ship (I don't support daemira and tb) because of the large age difference between Daemon and Rhaenyra, although the age difference between Aemond and Alys is also very large, and this relationship can be called pe... too
Forgive me if you love alysmond and don't take my words if they hurt you, you can support any ship you want. You asked me and I answered you 🙏🏻
Thank you for your question. I hope you understand my English 🙏🏻

is it just me or has the quality of books have gotten so bad it’s almost comical?
don’t get me wrong i’m sure there’s a lot of great authors out there, and even some of the more recently released books are pretty good! but in reality, i can’t name a good book that came out in the past year. it’s as if all the books dominating the market are all the same repetitive cliché bullshit. personally, i don’t classify myself as a ‘romance reader’ ‘spicy reader’…
(ill be real, i read whatever grabs my attention. albeit a thriller, romance, comedy you name it.)
honestly my main issue is with the romance genre. mainly ana huang, ali hazel wood, monica murphy, and almost every single dark romance. (don’t get me even started on colleen hoover 💀 )
i’m going to save you some time and summarise what (some) people’s issue is with dark romance. (+ colleen hoover) usually it’s just uncomfortable and romanticizes disgusting shit such as r*pe, p*dophilla, gr**ming, and/ or disturbing/ extreme kinks.
1. Romanticizing fetishes/insane/creepy behavior
now onto ana huang, ali hazelwood, and monica murphy. people always say “omg men written by women” but i do not understand the hype about the men these women created?? obviously i’m not putting these talented people down whatsoever!
But..
the twisted series had the most ridiculous fucking plot but the tropes were nice, the love hypothesis felt like a fanfiction (which it actually was, so i’m not going to say anything about that) but it wasn’t exactly bad, just felt like it was a fanfiction. A million kisses in your lifetime was sorta creepy, the mmc kinda gr*ped the fmc but it was brushed off as “sexual tension” and the daddy-daughter relationship was straight creepy.
2. Repetitive stories, nearly all the same plot, characters, writing style
It’s as if all romance books are just all rewritten versions of the same plot, using the same tropes and the same personalities?
i mean the sunshine x grumpy is cute and all but GODS does the male character always have to be the dark brooding one who’s only soft for the fmc, who’s small and naive and acts like a kid?
if you’re going to use a trope atleast make it unique? make the plot, characters and the story YOURS.
It’s like literature doesn’t exist, it’s like reading straight wattpad in a book form. what happened???
3. requirement for spice/ unnecessary plot points
OH MY GOD. i’m not even blaming authors for the spice things, rather booktok and bookstagram. oh my goodness the requirement for spice in every book even when it’s main genre isnt romance is ridiculous. some people won’t read a book if it doesn’t have SPICE!? it’s ok to like it, but it’s so annoying when i see YA novels have it?
!! sex should not be in a YA novel. !!
along with the weird spice demands, it’s also another thing that sometimes there’s unnecessary plot points / scenes just to make a trope work. like having a character act out of character just to make a scene out of it.
i’m currently in a book slump because i can’t seem to find a good book to read. my expectations are so low you’d probably have to dig underground.

Genuine question for the hotd fandom in general - what could Alicent have done differently when it came to Dyana’s rape? What would have been a better but realistic outcome for Dyana?

Jeez that Anon.
God forbid Alicent after being married to Viserys over half of her life, get to decorate her own home- which is kinda traditionally the job of the Lady of the castle, to manage the home. Viserys was a shit King so Alicent had to pull his duties too, doesn’t mean she wasn’t doing her traditional role as well. She probably managed/directed the hanging of those awful tapestries in the first place.
After marrying Car, Ned brought a Septon and Septa to Winterfell and had a Sept built for her despite Starks worshipping the Old Gods for thousands of years. These are the things loving husbands do for their wives to make them feel at home.
Too bad Viserys had to be almost dead for anything reflecting Alicent’s heritage to be brought into a the Castle where she’s lived most of her life.
Alicent can’t hang a few symbols in the Castle but Rhaenyra can try to put whole Strongs on the Driftwood throne. Strongs don’t belong there either.
Also the Seven is one of the most prominent faiths in Westros so it’s not entirely wrong for the symbols of that faith to be displayed in Kings residence. And if Alicent like you said can take care of not only the Queens duties but also a good chunk of the Kings she has all right to decorate HER keep the way she wants. She’s been in that castle for more than 20 years. Viserys is all but dead so his opinions on anything are even more irrelevant than they were before.
And if those nasty tapestries with dragon orgies was them showing their symbolism I’m glade it’s gone.
One thing I will say is that no matter what though is that Nyra’s boys do have a right to the Iron Throne no matter their illegitimacy, but Luke being heir to Driftmark is kind of questionable. In other notes unrelated, it’s not like Baela and Rhaena were being snubbed of their birthrights considering one would’ve been Queen and the other would’ve been the Lady of Driftmark. Which speaking of that the theory that had Rhaenyra won the Dance and all her sons survived that Daemon would’ve had Jace, Luke, and Joffrey killed is stupid 💀. I mean I don’t like Daemon at all but he’s not stupid enough to do that, his daughter would be Queen and then her child would be heir.

Aren't the villains just as dismissive? Tbh I don't think there is any way of getting through to the villains even if they shown empathy. I hope I'm wrong though but this is the final arc and nobodies stance has changed and I don't see it changing but fingers crossed that things will change but I think there needs to half way meeting between both sides before things begin moving forward if it does.
It's true that the villains aren't stepping down from their points, but it's not on them to do that. The villains are not the ones responsible for the social injustice of their system. They are canonically a minority that the HPSC has repeatedly tried to silence with state-sanctioned assassinations.
And while it's also true that there needs to be a middle ground somewhere (the villains cannot be saved so long as they keep killing and the heroes can't save so long as they kill their targets), please note that the ones actively seeking a dialogue here are the villains.
Dabi's broadcast was aimed at people thinking more critically about the blind trust they put in heroes. He wanted them to ask heroes for more accountability in his stead, because he knew heroes would never listen to him. He didn't just want justice for himself or he would've simply killed Endvr. He wanted a fairer society to stop people like Endvr from doing what he did for two decades and getting away with it.
Shigaraki made a whole speech on the battlefield of the first war about how heroes constantly trample over the individuals for the sake of an abstract greater good. He addressed how thinking only of the masses creates pockets of evil under the heroes' noses. Shigaraki's whole shtick is that he was kidnapped and groomed by a supervillain because he was left wandering the streets for days, bloodied and traumatized, and the heroes of his neighborhood had so many bigger fishes to fry that they never noticed he needed help too.
And though we might argue that as an adult he's now vowed to cause indiscriminate destruction without dialogue because that's what AFO groomed him for, we can also argue that when Shigaraki is not directly under his abuser's influence, he makes choices that show us he actually does want that dialogue. Remember, he seeked out Deku at that mall and explained his whole villain manifesto to him. He told Deku all about how their society functions on this search for an abstract greater good and ignores individual in immediate danger. And he demonstrated it, too. He had deadly fingers on Deku's throat and no one blinked twice or stepped in to investigate, because "heroes would deal with it". He wanted Deku to acknowledge this. This is such a hangup of his that he brings it up again in the war arc as well. And no has given him an appropriate response still.
Then there's Toga, and she's the one who most clearly proves this. The heroes' argument is that they can't listen to the points presented to them because the villains hurt their friends. So long as the villains don't own up to their crimes, they say, that sours any good argument they might've had. Which is hypocritical as hell. The heroes also killed Toga's best friend and refused accountability for it. In fact, they let Hawks stay a hero.
Yet, despite all this, Toga was still able to put her grief in a box and set it aside for ten minutes, and seeked out Uraraka to attempt a dialogue anyway. A villain, who the heroes keep referring to as an immature, hedonistic and selfish freak, had more emotional maturity than any of them. She went to Uraraka to understand what a villains' life is worth to heroes. Ochako's response confirmed her suspicion; to their society, Jin wasn't human enough to deserve compassion. His death served the greater good, so it doesn't matter if he left friends behind, if people cared about him. It doesn't matter if heroes hurt Toga's friends, but it's a death sentence if Toga hurts the heroes' friends.
So.
Why should the villains act less dismissive? They tried fitting in and it didn't work. They tried setting out a conversation with heroes and it also didn't work. What the heroes wanted from them is what hero society always wanted from any disturbance to the status quo—either take it in silence, or to get erased as a threat.
The villains are literally fighting for their lives here, meanwhile the heroes are just fighting to maintain their privileges. It's not even remotely a fair fight. That's why it's on the heroes to change their attitude first

It’s honestly quite tragic that the HOTD fandom sees any sort of conflicting take/viewpoint when it comes to discussions pertaining to character arcs and historical inspiration GRRM may have taken as a direct, personal attack against them when they do not agree. Just seems rather childish and reductive to me but also unsurprising as it’s entirely consistent with that fandom’s level of maturity after all.
