while i am 2 chapters ahead already, the last line of the last chapter i’ve been working on makes absolutely no sense because it’s a fragment that i wrote quickly so i wouldn’t forget an idea. 😅 so here is the final line of the next chapter of my Master Chief x Reader series Before the Fever, as i’m still editing it:

10 Things For 2023

I’ve never actually made my own post on here before as I usually just use this account to collect posts that I like, so I’m still figuring out how to do pretty fonts and colors (the tumblr editor is a little wonky)! I’ve decided to finally maybe start publicly writing for the first time, as I’ve always loved and enjoyed reading the fanfiction others have taken the time to create. Thank you so much @allthelovefromstylesxx for taking the time to tag me in this <3

A fic idea you want to write: I’m very much a fan of any sort of meetcute. I’m a pianist and have always been kind of bashful when people have stopped to watch me play, but I think it would make a cute idea for a oneshot!

A place you want to go: I would love to go on a trip through Europe to study fashion! I’ve been to London once a few years ago, but felt I didn’t really have the time or money to look around as much as I would’ve wanted.

A book you want to read: I’ve had a copy of Howl’s Moving Castle sitting on my desk for a while that I’ve been meaning to get to! I’ve watched the movie plenty of times and was absolutely in love with Howl as a child. I’ll get to it eventually.

Something fun you want to do: I really love fashion and am currently in school for business with the goal of owning my own shop someday. I feel like learning how to sew could be a fun and useful pastime to help me learn more about clothing!

A habit I want to start: ugh... begrudgingly... reading sheet music more often. I’ve played for years and still find it just as unbearable. I need to make myself so I don’t have to worry with memorization as much!!

Something new you want to try: I want to try going out on a date just for fun! I feel like I take the whole thing way too seriously and am too skeptical of people. I haven’t been on a real date in ages.

Something you want to finish from 2022: games!!! I am so so so guilty of having a huge backlog of games that I don’t end up finishing before I see something shiny and new come out that I just have to buy </3

Something you want to stop doing: procrastinating! it makes me so stressed and I realize just how much easier it makes my life not to wait to do things at the last minute. Time and dedication. Time and dedication...

Something you want to keep doing: I want to keep trying new things! I never thought I’d be posting on my own for once, but hopefully this will become a normal occurrence. I can’t guarantee it will be a fully functional blog, but I’d really like to get some of my writing out there for feedback and the enjoyment of others!

Nothing Feels Better | myg

- summary: who knew that all it would take for Yoongi to confess are some tulips and you wearing one of his t-shirts

-a/n: this simply was a spur of the moment, random drabble that came about lmao but i hope you enjoy! also this yoongi is inspired by long haired yoongi that we’ve been seeing lately (I LOVE HIS LONG HAIR SM OK) anyways I’ll edit tomorrow, so i apologize if there’s any typos. enjoy :)

also, i recommend listening to the song: “Nothing Feels Better” by pinks sweat$, it’s just such a fluffy song

You sigh as you take off your shoes and drop your keys on your entrance table. Today was a long, exhausting day at work. You had it seemed, a thousand meetings, one of which didn’t go all too well. Your clients were being unnecessarily rude the whole hour of the meeting. On top of that, you barely ate today and you were just mentally and physically exhausted, your bones feeling so heavy.

You shuffle to your bedroom, stripping down only to your underwear, then make your way to the bathroom to shower. You need to wash the stress of today off your body, cleansing yourself. Luckily, it was Friday, so that means you have two days to recoup and relax. In fact, your best friend Yoongi, was supposed to come over tonight for pizza and movies, a weekly tradition between the two of you. However, earlier you asked to do a raincheck, stating that you weren’t feeling well.

He has a similar job to you, so he understands the pressure and stress that comes with it. You two met at work, both started at the same company, the one you’re still working for. You quickly became friends, and have been best friends ever since.

You were devastated when he decided to leave the firm, on to bigger and better things. Were you a little bitter he was leaving you? Yes, but you were also so so happy for him that he found a job that paid better and had better benefits and just overall, better. So, while you were still moping that he left, it’s been 2 months already, you were also so proud of him. It comforted you that his new job was secure, and right up his ally of what he wants to do long-term.

You were already texting Yoongi throughout the day, after every minor or significant inconvenience that plagued you, so he wasn’t overly surprised that you canceled on your pizza and movie night.

Stepping out of the shower, you feel much better. The stress of the day going down the drain along with your body wash. You even washed your hair, making you feel 10x cleaner than before. You quickly do your after-shower routine and slip into a comfy oversize t-shirt and some pajama shorts.

You’re just about to pour yourself a glass of wine when you hear your doorbell ring. That’s weird you think, I didn’t even order takeout yet.

You pad over to your door and look out the peephole, sighing in relief when you recognize the mop of hair standing in front of your door.

You open the door to see Yoongi softly smiling down at you, with a bouquet of flowers in his hands as well.

“You got me flowers?”

“Is that my shirt?”

You both ask at the same time, chuckling as you realize.

You let him answer first, prompting him with a raise of your eyebrows and a slight grin adorning your face.

He extends his hand out with the flowers, “Yeah, these are for you. Tulips are your favorite right?”

You smile and take the flowers, your cheeks warming and heart glowing at his kind gesture. He remembered my favorite flowers? How sweet. “Yeah, tulips are my favorite, thanks Yoongi. You didn’t have to.”

He waves his hand, “Yeah, yeah, I know. I just wanted to make sure that you’re ok.” His eyes rake over your face, looking for any sign that you’re still upset, still sad, hell, anything.

You smile softly at him, appreciating the gesture. “Well, again, thank you. Here, why don’t you come in so we’re not standing out in the hallway.” You slightly chuckle, stepping aside to let Yoongi in through the door.

You make your way over to the kitchen to find a vase for the tulips.

“Hey, you never answered my question.” You can feel the smirk that is on Yoongi’s face and your cheeks warm, still turned around from him as you remember what he asked you. You busy yourself with arranging the tulips in the vase.

“So, is that my shirt, y/n?” You turn to face him, and you were right. He’s smirking at you with his stupidly buff arms crossed over his chest, as he waits for your reply.

You bring the vase over to the island, and place it down. “And what if it is?” You look at him with a challenging stare, not backing down.

He continues to smile at you, before uncrossing his arms and placing them on the island counter, leaning towards you. The veins in his forearms are exaggerated by the kitchen light and you try not to let your stare waver, but c’mon it’s hard!

“You’re lucky you’re cute.”

Did Min Yoongi just call you cute? There’s no way. He’s never this flirty with you. This has you faltering, not sure what to say.

“Wait, you think I’m cute?”

He rolls his eyes, which you also think is hot. What is wrong with me? You focus your attention back on Yoongi.

“Oh, c’mon y/n, do you think I give everyone their favorite flowers after they’ve had a long day?” His question has you faltering again, not sure what to say as your best friend stands across from you, asking you questions that you never seem to be able to answer.

“Well, you are such a kind person, I wouldn’t put it past you.” Your answer has him rolling his eyes again, never being able to catch a break from you.

“Stop being ridiculous y/n, and come here.” Yoongi moves to sit at one of your barstools, as he waits for you to come to him.

Fireworks shoot down your spine at his tone, at his request that you come to him. So, you do just that, and make your way over to your best friend, sitting down at a bar stool next to him.

He takes one of your small hands in his, and looks up at you with nothing but honesty and sincerity in his dark eyes.

“Y/n, I’ve liked you for some time now, well actually loved you for some time now. I’m actually surprised you never caught on. But yeah, I’ve always been head over heels for you. You’re my best friend after all.” He lets out a small laugh after his confession, almost as if he can’t believe he did it, told you how he really feels. It’s not like this was his plan, to come over tonight and confess, it just sort of happened.

He looks at you as you take it all in- his confession, his hand in yours, his everything, him.

You’re looking down at your hands, and that’s when he notices a couple of tears streaming down your cheeks. You look up at him before he can say anything else, and smile. You smile at him, with tear-stained eyes, but he can tell you’re happy.

Your thumb starts to rub back and forth across his knuckles, and you squeeze his hand.

His other hand comes up to gently wipe the tears off your cheek, and wipe under your eyes. He then gently tucks your hair behind your ear and runs his fingers through your soft hair as he waits for you to reply. He gives you an encouraging smile as he does this, making your heart flutter.

You’ve realized that Yoongi is the epitome of comfort. Always lending out a hand for reassurance, making you feel safe and secure. That’s what he’s doing now as he lets you absorb everything from tonight. He comforts you in the ways he knows you need it, through soft touches and soothing words.

“Sorry, I don’t know why I’m crying.” You laugh lightly at how ridiculous you must look, but when you peer up at Yoongi, there’s no judgement in his eyes, only love.

He keeps running his hand through your hair, comforting you with his tender touches, waiting for you.

“I guess…I just love you so much, and I can’t believe you feel the same way.” You smile at him again, looking into his eyes, that hold so much love and adoration for you.

“Come here,” Yoongi softly says, and pulls you into his arms. He gently kisses you, and there’s a dull warmth that spreads across your body, and from your toes to the very top of your head, you feel warm, safe. He then pulls you further into him, into his embrace and hugs you tightly.

You don’t know how long you stay together, hugging each other, now as lovers instead of friends, but you do know, that nothing feels better than this.

10 things for 2023

thank you so much for the tag @stephibee! it’s always so nice to be thought of :’)

A fic idea you want to write (or read): i’d love more master chief ideas in general. it’s been a challenge that i’ve enjoyed to write for Halo with the depth of the lore involved. i wasn’t extremely versed in it beforehand, just what i knew from the games and show casually that i loved, but the research i’ve done -even just for the little details for my series- has been so fun! and my obsession has come back in full force again, too. now that i know more i’d love to really dive in and write. i’d also love to get more into my Kismet series to continue the idea of the reader being a human integrated with AI that was brought about by the Covenant.

A place you want to go: so many places.. buenos aires. but a little more attainable, another halo world championship would be cool!

A book you want to read: any of the Halo books! or the last Caraval book because i never got around to getting it. 🥹

Something fun you want to do: finally go to a cat cafe!

Something you want to make: i’ve been into crocheting and i’d love to make more cute amigurumi.

A habit you want to start: self care— but like body, mind and soul edition. like working out more, meditating, eating better and going to sleep at a reasonable time. also drinking more water.

Something new you want to try: pho!! i’ve never had pho and it looks so good!! or golfing, surfing.. etc. plenty! lol.

Something you want to finish from 2022: my Before the Fever series so I can work more on my Kismet one 😅 (i am so sad to even think about it being over though!)

Something you want to stop doing: letting people cross boundaries with me. apparently boundaries don’t work if you don’t enforce them! :’)

Something you want to keep doing: the things that i love with no reservations about them. continuing the growth i’ve gone through would be great too!
