RFA with MC Quarantine Headcanons
Write what you know as they say, and all I know right now is sitting around the house lmao so here we go, RFAxMC Quarantine Headcanons!
Yoosung:
So much animal crossing
You don’t even know
MC and Yoosung do live together, but of course they’re gonna go on animal crossing dates because they can’t go out for a real date
They’ll go on a little museum date, take some pictures on a little picnic, it’s all super wholesome
SO many snacks
Oh my god, the two of them do not eat healthy
It’s not as bad as Seven’s diet, but still not great
Before everything got really bad, the two of them went on a huge costco run and filled the cart to the brim with any kind of snack you could think of
Of course they both forgot to get any kind of actual meal-like foods, so they order delivery a LOT
Movie night is every night y’all
It started with a Lord of the Rings movie marathon
Then it turned into a search for every rom com on Netflix
Then it turned into literally just letting Netflix autoplay whatever was on next
This turned into watching so many bad movies that Yoosung and MC’s cheeks hurt from laughing and smiling so hard
Hair dye, anyone?
Yoosung’s hair is growing out some so his dark roots are visible, and his hair clips aren’t pulling all of his hair back anymore
So! MC cuts and dyes it for him
And not to toot her own horn or anything, but it turns out pretty good
So of course she decides to dye her own hair, nothing drastic but definitely noticeable lol
Zen:
Zen does not do well with being stuck at home
He’s so anxious and jittery from having to sit around all day and not be able to go out and perform or go to the gym
He likes to go jogging every afternoon though and MC started tagging along
His jogs turned into strolls very quickly with MC by his side because he can’t help but slow down to just hold her hand and chat with her
Sometimes he like to surprise her by finding a remote little spot in the park where they can have a picnic
He’s still really antsy about not being able to do anything creative and it’s driving him crazy
So he and MC start making custom cloth masks for all the other RFA members
MC has to do Jumin’s though because she knows for a fact that Zen is gonna put something mean on it lol
They make Yoosung a LOLOL themed one, Jaehee one with little coffee cups and pastries on it, Seven gets one with little bags of honey butter chips and dr. pepper on it, Jumin gets one with a little cat smile and whiskers
MC makes one for Zen with little hearts and roses on it and he practically melts when she gives it to him
He would absolutely love anything she gave to him, but it was just too cute and made him love her even more, how sweet and loving and thoughtful she was
In return, he made her one with little princess tiaras and hearts on it in a similar color scheme and pattern so that they could match
If they have to go out for groceries, just because they have masks on doesn’t mean he’s gonna stop his PDA lmao
He’ll still constantly hold her hand and wanting to kiss her on the top of her head but his mask is in the way :')
Jaehee:
C&R is considered an essential business so it’s still operating
But! The offices are closed and everyone is required to work from home
This cuts out all the time from Jaehee’s commute, and cuts out all non-essential tasks from her job
Because of this, she’s able to work the normal amount for a chief assistant AND is able to spend so much more time with MC and they’re both LOVING it
So! Much! Baking!!!
The two of them are constantly looking for new recipes online to try out, creating their own little menu of pastries
They’re always getting ingredients delivered from the grocery store so they don’t have to go out to just buy flour or just buy baking soda
MC’s favorite to make with Jaehee is eclairs because, even though it makes such a mess, it’s always so fun to have a full day project to work on with her so they can watch musical clips on youtube while the pastries are in the oven, or just chat and laugh together while they fill and dip the eclairs
Jaehee’s favorite to make with MC besides eclairs is layered cakes because she loves decorating them almost as much as she loves watching MC decorate them
It’s so relaxing and almost therapeutic to watch her decorate, it makes her forget about all the stress and work she has to worry about
Whenever they bake, since there’s only two of them and there’s no way they could eat all of it, they’ll drive by all of the members houses to drop of little care packages of their extra desserts
Jumin:
Same as Jaehee, Jumin is now able to work from home
It’s a really odd experience for him to have MC around while he works and as he expected, she’s incredibly distracting
All he wants to do all day is hold her in his arms and make her pancakes and see her smile
He was never known to be much of a procrastinator but with MC around, some of his work starts slipping through the cracks and he forgets to attend certain zoom meetings or review certain documents and it starts piling up
One weekend he ends up having to work all day and pull an all-nighter to catch up on everything he’s missed
MC tries to stay up with him, doing little tasks around the house to keep herself occupied
Giving Elizabeth the 3rd some fresh water, picking up the bedroom a bit
Eventually she settles down next to him while he works and reads
Unfortunately she doesn’t make it past 3am and falls asleep with her head on his shoulder
Jumin’s heart swells and he’s so nervous that he’s going to wake her up with his typing so his works slows down significantly while he tries to type quieter
Since he can’t go on trips to various farms or gardens like he normally would, MC starts slowly collecting little tiny potted plants, not just succulents but also just like itty bitty pots with basil plants or parsley plants, and lining them along the windows in the penthouse
After the first couple plants, Jumin notices a patter and realizes what she’s doing and appreciates so much how thoughtful she is
He starts getting really intrigued by the world of tiny plants and it lowkey becomes a new hobby of his that he shares with MC
He orders some tiny cat grass and catnip plants for Elizabeth the 3rd, of course
MC orders the tiny pots and decorates them all individually while Jumin will pick out the kinds of plants they’ll get
It gets a little out of control and there are now concerning amounts of tiny plants along every window and now along the kitchen counters and the dining table
The penthouse becomes their own little private garden and Jumin loves every bit of it
Seven:
Tbh life isn’t that much different at first for Seven, he normally doesn’t leave the house anyway
The only difference is that MC is always home now and god, he loves it
They get everything, literally everything, delivered to the house so they don’t have to leave the house
At first everything is pretty wholesome
Lots of cuddling on the couch while Seven works
Lots of making rice krispie treats and eating raw cookie dough
But MC and Seven are both very quick to lose their sanity to the likes of quarantine
Day 15 of quarantine, they accidentally ordered that week’s groceries twice, so they got two times more food than they need
So of course they have a movie marathon and eat SO much food
Day 27 of quarantine, Seven dyes green streaks in his hair so he looks like someone threw up Christmas on his hair
Day ??? of quarantine, they start making really concerning cursed tik toks

Thorin was in a particularly bad mood.
As he'd been irritable since the start of this whole thing, Frerin felt he could be excused for not immediately noticing.
“Problem?” he asked in what he hoped was a mild voice as he dropped onto the bench where Thorin sat aggressively cleaning his weapons. It was a long running joke that the shine of Thorin’s blades were directly tied to his mood. The cleaner they were the fouler his temperament.
Currently, they shone brighter than Frerin had ever seen them.
Thorin’s eyes cut toward his and then, with a violent motion, he yanked a crumpled paper from his inner coat pocket and thrust it out toward Frerin. “A raven arrived this morning with this.”
Frerin took the paper with trepidation. Not all the ravens of Erebor had gone into exile, and what few had weren't all that willing to place themselves in danger. For one to brave a battlefield meant it was news that couldn’t wait.
Frerin steeled himself and spread the paper out on his knee. Whatever it was, he told himself, he’d handle it. Mahal knew he'd handled worse over the last winter. His eyes scanned the words on the page, and a mixture of relief and sadness washed over him. Relief that the news wasn't actually bad, and sadness that it spoke of loss all the same.
“Congratulations." He handed the paper back and Thorin shoved it roughly inside his jacket. He placed his sword across his knees and stared out unseeing into the camp laid out about them.
“I missed the birth of my son.” His voice was hoarse, and his lips twisted with a grimace. “Was it worth it?”
“You know it was.” Frerin rested his hands on his knees and dug his fingers into the worn fabric of his trousers. His eyes went to several dwarves walking past and he could see their clothing was no better than his own. They were a patchwork army, filled with mismatched armor, faded and torn clothing, and inferior weapons. The siege equipment belonged to the elves, the tents to the Men of Dale. “There was no other choice. Even if the cold hadn't forced our hand, your son deserves better. They all do.”
Thorin had hesitated when Gandalf had urged them to retake Erebor, but Jayde hadn't. Frerin could still see his brother's wife, hand resting on her swollen stomach and voice barely wavering as she'd announced that of course Thorin had to go. "Have you told Vili or Kili yet?"
"No." A slight, wry smile pulled at Thorin's lips for a moment. "I'm still trying to decide whether or not to tell Dis about Kili's injury."
Frerin suppressed a shudder. The fight over whether one, or both, of his nephews could come had been legendary. Dis had been adamant against it, while her sons had been just as passionately in favor.
Frerin had been dragged into it entirely against his will. He'd been born late in his parents' lives, long after his siblings, and was only a handful of years older than Fili and Kili. Other than it creating a relationship that was closer to siblings than uncle and nephews, it had never really been something he gave much thought to.
Or at least he hadn't until his sister tried to insist her sons were far too young to go to war. Frerin had no choice but to take their side, since arguing with Dis would have been arguing against himself as well.
He'd have taken their side regardless, not that he was stupid enough to tell his sister that. Fili and Kili were adults, as much as Dis sometimes struggled to see it, and had as much right to fight as anyone else.
In the end, it had been Thorin who'd intervened and managed to reach a compromise. Fili stayed behind to lead Ered Luin while Dis supported Jayde in her final stages of pregnancy. Vili and Kili had gone and Dis had personally threatened the three of them if anything happened to her youngest son.
"I wouldn't mention it," he said now. "You'll write that Kili was grazed by an arrow and she'll decide--"
"That he must have lost an arm and I'm minimizing it," Thorin said with a chuckle. "You're right. We can let Vili tell her when she arrives."
"Perks of her being married," Frerin agreed cheerfully. Thorin's eyes went toward the mountain and Frerin's good mood sobered a bit. "Maybe we should try breaching it," he suggested with hesitation. "There can't be many left capable of putting up much fight."
"None of them were capable of putting up much fight," Thorin said in irritation. "We should have done this years ago." He was silent for a few moments, contemplating, and then finally shook his head. "No, we've lost enough. I won't lose more to impatience. We can wait a little longer."
Frerin clasped his brother on the shoulder. "And that's why you are, and will be, a great king."
Thorin sent him a tight grin and returned to cleaning his weapons. Frerin settled in next to him, rested his hands in his lap, and studied the mountain. It was only a matter of time. Until then, the least he could do was ensure his brother didn't inadvertently start an entirely different war with the elves or men while he was in a poor mood.
***
Bilba sat quietly while Josie worked on her hair. The routine could take an hour or longer and that wasn't adding in the time it took to do her clothes, jewelry and makeup. According to her grandfather, princesses had two purposes. Gaining favor or alliances and looking pretty at court. Another of his possessions he trotted out to show off before sending her away to her room again the way a child might replace a toy on a shelf once they were done with it.
Bilba was always miserable. She had to wear layers worth of underclothing in addition to corsets and stays and whatever her grandfather thought could force her body into the perfect form. Over all that went heavy velvet or silk dresses dripping with pounds of gems that made her feel as if someone were constantly pressing down on her shoulders.
She was grateful for the warmth in winter but in the summer the heat she was forced to endure had caused her to faint more than once. Carrying a small pouch of smelling salts helped, but there was still a widespread belief in the mountain that she suffered from a weak constitution.
“There we go, Your Highness.” Josie stood back and clasped her hands in front of her. “What do you think?”
Bilba forced a weak smile at the other woman. Josie had taken Bilba's hair, which usually fell to her waist in a thick mass of chestnut waves, and painstakingly curled it. She'd then worked it into an elaborate braid that wound along the side of her head, and over her shoulder. The entire length of it was studded with diamonds, emeralds and rubies.
The jewels matched the velvet, emerald gown Josie had already helped her get on. It was practically dripping with jewels and brocade, particularly along the off the shoulder neckline. The edges of the stones irritated her skin and she was forever fighting the urge to adjust it in a futile attempt to find some semblance of relief.
She glanced at her reflection in the mirror and hid a frown at the makeup Josie had put on that made her appear years older.
She barely recognized herself.
In the main hall leading to the dining room there were portraits depicting past kings and queens of Erebor. All were dressed in their finery and posed perfectly, the absolute definition of royalty. The paintings were all Bilba really knew about them. She didn't know their personalities or what their hobbies had been. She couldn't say if they'd feared the dark or if they would sometimes sneak to the kitchens to get a snack in the middle of the night. They were simply royals, flat images on canvas with the person behind the title long lost to history.
It was how Bilba often thought of herself after Josie got done with her. She was a princess, a living portrait walking about the palace. She doubted anyone could name her favorite color if asked, or state what her opinions were on living in the mountain, or even what made her laugh.
Sometimes, Bilba was afraid she didn't know the answers to those questions herself.
"It looks wonderful, Josie," she said quietly. She kept her voice soft and modulated, devoid of anything resembling a personality. Proper according to her grandfather.
She turned to leave, slow and graceful so that the earrings dangling from her ears barely twitched where the tips brushed her shoulders.
Josie rushed ahead of her to open the door and Bilba put her shoulders back, straightened, and raised her chin. Her stomach twisted and she resisted the urge to wring her hands together with nerves.
Josie gasped suddenly and clapped her hands to her mouth. "Oh, my gosh, I forgot your tiara!"
Bilba's eyes widened fractionally. She had several tiaras, and quite a few circlets, all of which were quite heavy and very uncomfortable. They also needed to be woven into her hair, usually near the beginning of the process, not the end and certainly not after.
"That's quite all right, Josie," she said, trying to hide the sense of panic at having to undergo the process all over again. "I'm sure grandfather won't mind."
He most certainly would mind, but Bilba was hoping he'd be too preoccupied with the ongoing siege to notice.
Josie frowned. "I don't know. I could probably do it quick."
Bilba had no desire to sit in that chair again for any length of time so she simply smiled and started toward the door. "I'd be late. You know how my grandfather feels about me being late."
Josie grimaced. "True." She pulled the door open with flourish and grinned. "Have a good day, Your Highness."
"Thank you, Josie." Bilba let out a slow breath, arranged her hands in front of her waist and glided out of the room.
Well, glided as much as one could glide when one could not, in fact, float and had to rely on their feet. The action required a surprising amount of control in her legs and usually left them stiff and cramping.
The corridor outside her room was cold, and shadowed. The dwarves had been careful in their design of the mountain, placing the living areas in locations that allowed windows and balconies to let in natural light. For the rest of the mountain they had cut shafts fitted with perfectly cut and polished stones capable of refracting light in a multitude of directions.
Together, in what must have been a masterful feat of engineering and design, they provided light and fresh air to nearly every part of the mountain save the mines where lanterns and other methods had been used.
It was one of the many things the hobbits had taken for granted. Over the years many of the shafts had become blocked or occluded. No one know exactly how to clear the shafts, or replace damaged or missing stones, which had left large sections of the mountain shadowed or in near total darkness.
Bilba had never entirely understood the dwarven resistance to helping keep the mountain in repair, or why they'd left in the first place. Certainly, having a hobbit in charge rather than a dwarf must have been rankling to some, but surely it had been better than what they'd had before?
By all accounts Durin had been a brute and his son little better. Were the dwarves just so xenophobic that they couldn't stand the thought of a non-dwarf on the throne no matter that it was a significant improvement? Every one of them had left and, since then, not a single dwarf had willingly set foot in Erebor even when offered significant amounts of money for needed repairs.
A noble and his wife rounded the corner toward her and Bilba gave a slow nod of the head in greeting. They returned it but, just as they passed, she saw both their faces twist in derision. Her stomach twisted inside her and she clasped her hands together until the knuckles shone white.
She didn't know what she was doing wrong. Usually when she passed she'd get vague nods or greetings but, since the war had started and especially since the siege, she was increasingly getting snide comments, looks of disgust or outright cuts.
She'd tried harder, sat longer in that stupid chair, allowed Josie even more liberty with her hair and clothing, worked harder on the pleasant smiles and pleasantries her grandfather insisted were proper for a princess. Still the slights continued and, if anything, grew worse.
Nothing she did seemed to matter, and she couldn't even ask because, as her grandfather liked to say, a princess was primarily to be seen, not heard. Unless she were making simple greetings or directly responding to a question posed to her, in as succinct a manner as possible, she was to remain quiet.
The only times she'd ever broken that rule had been with Sigrid, who insisted it was idiotic, and, to a lesser amount, Legolas. She'd trusted them and look where that had led. Perhaps, had she kept her mouth shut as her grandfather had taught her to do they wouldn't have betrayed her. At the very least she wouldn't have the sick feeling in her stomach as she recalled the times she'd opened up to them. All the things she'd said, and all only to now realize how they must have been silently mocking her the entire time.
The doors to the dining room loomed ahead and Bilba's spirits flagged further. Her grandfather's favorite pastime during meals was to watch her and criticize her every movement. From the way she held her spoon to questioning her weight, nothing was off limits to him and it was all generally done in front of whatever councilmembers or lords he'd invited to dine that day.
He'd begun to ignore her somewhat since the Durins had arrived, but she still faced each meal with trepidation that this time would be when he took notice of her again and started up the endless critique. There had been several times she'd been driven close to tears. Sometimes she had the suspicion that was what her grandfather wanted, a game he was playing or a test of some kind.
The guards in front of the door leaned over in concert, grabbed the handles and pulled them open. Bilba took a deep breath, tried to center herself and then swept into the room exactly as she'd been taught to do.
It took her all of ten seconds to realize the room was empty.
Her footsteps stumbled to a stop and her eyes widened. Usually, when she walked into the dining room it'd be to the sight of the massive table near to groaning under the weight of food piled upon it. Servers would be darting about filling the plates and goblets of her grandfather and councilors, and the delicious smells from the multitude of dishes would have her stomach growling in a most un-princess like way.
Today, there was nothing. No sign of her grandfather, or any councilors, no food set out on the table, not even the musicians her grandfather insisted on having in the back corner to play serene melodies while he discussed politics.
Bilba turned toward the doors, but the guards had shut them behind her, leaving her alone in a giant, cavernous room. She'd never realized just how cavernous until this very minute when she was in it alone with nothing but her own silence for company.
She knew she wasn't late. Had something come up? There'd been no sign of panic or rush in those she'd passed in the corridors, and no one had come to her room to alert her to anything.
A shiver ran over her and, since there was no one to see, she crossed her arms over her chest and began to chew nervously on her lower lip.
Her eyes went back to the table again and, this time, lit upon the fact that it wasn't quite as empty as she'd first thought. There was a piece of paper, folded in two, sitting on a small tray at her customary spot. She hadn't immediately noticed it as her eyes had gone naturally to where her grandfather and his councilors usually sat, and not to her seat at the far end of the table.
Bilba tried to swallow down a suddenly dry throat. Dread settled over her and she could feel her body growing tense. Digging her fingers into her arms, she forced herself to take a step, and then another one and another. It seemed to take ages to get there and, once she had, she regretted it not taking longer still.
She picked up the letter with the tips of two, shaking fingers and, before she could talk herself out of it, opened it in a quick motion.
The first few words had her breath freezing in her lungs, while the rest caused her to sink into a chair as her legs buckled beneath her.
On the page the words seemed to burn into her eyes, and she swore she could almost hear her grandfather’s voice.
The mountain is lost.
You will delay the fall as long as possible to allow Erebor's court to retreat to a safe harbor. You will keep your silence on the manner of our escape so that we may use it in the future when we return to take back what is ours.
You will not fail me.
Bilba read them again, and again after that. She closed her eyes, opened them again, and pinched herself, doing everything and anything in her power to wake up, or to somehow, someway make the words change. Go away. Be something different than what they were.
But no matter how hard she tried to convince herself she was asleep, or how much she wished for things to change, the truth remained stubborn and unyielding.
Her grandfather was gone, and with him most, if not all the council.
Her grandfather had just effectively declared her Queen, which meant the only thing standing between the wolves gathered at Erebor’s gates and those hiding within...was her.

The heart of a monster - 01. Death’s butterfly
Rated: M
Summary: One dreaded curse haunts the soul of a powerful knight in training, can he hide it before he loses control over the beast within?
The sun showered over the small village, awakening the residents to a warm welcome from spring. The roosters singing in a chorus of shrieks that continued until they were fed.
A young man stepped out of one of the cottages with a long tired sigh and made his way to the stables. Kurosaki Ichigo squinted under the bright light and focused on the dark horse glaring at him from afar.
Great even the horses want to fight with me, he thought with annoyance.
He was not a morning person and so was the horses he attended daily. If he had it his way, he wouldn't be working with animals that get agitated by his face alone. As if they read his mind they slanted their ears backwards and snarled with their teeth baring. Ichigo ignored their usual response and huffed as he inspected the mess they had left the night before, he should have become used to the horrible stench by now.
But sadly he was not.
"You're never going to make my job easy at all," he muttered under his breath.
From afar a young maiden struggled to fill up her bucket with fresh water from the village's well. Her voice came out muffled as she pulled the bucket with all her strength. She had skipped breakfast because she was running out of coins to sustain herself and rent, so she felt faint and weak at not having her usual two loafs of bread dipped in sweet honey with a glass of milk on the side. The thought of food made her realize she was loosing concentration on the task in hand.
"I...almost have it!" She exclaimed as her hands tugged on the rope tied around the bucket. She took a step back and was not prepared as she slipped on a lodged rock in the dirt, her hands released the rope from the pain and her eyes closed at the expectation of a hard fall.
"Inoue!"
At the sound of her name a pair of strong arms wrapped around her waist and hoisted her back against a soft yet defined chest. Orihime's eyes fluttered open as she raised her head to meet her savior's warm gaze of concern.
"K-Kurosaki...?"
His widen eyes relaxed and he released a sigh of relief, his orange hair glowing under the sun like a crown. Orihime felt her face flush and swallowed nervously as she escaped from his arms and stood rigidly in front of him, her hands coming down to fix her wool dress. She must look like a mess, after all she was unable to take a bath the night before and in her hurry to awake today she braided her hair without properly brushing it.
Her eyes trailed over his tousled hair and teasing skin peeking from an unbuttoned cotton shirt, his trousers hugging his frame and showing shadows of his manhood. She felt ashamed at the indecent thoughts running through her mind, and broke the awkward silence with a, "It's such a beautiful morning isn't it?"
Oh no, that's not what I wanted to say!
She thought in embarrassment, feeling her face get warmer when she noticed the surprise in his expression. He surely wouldn't care about the morning spring, she lectured herself mentally.
"It is, now that you mention it," he nodded as he saw the blooming tulips and array of flowers decorating the small village floor. "Truthfully I was having an irritating morning and I'd forgotten to appreciate the beauty of spring."
He turned to look at her and couldn't help but take in her warm smile, or how a few chestnut tendrils escaped from her braid, two single bright pins adorned her head just above her right ear. Ichigo blinked in confusion, he didn’t mean to stare. It was then he noticed though the slight redness forming on her palms and without thinking reached out to examine them.
Orihime's eyes widened as he held her hand and brought it up to his face, she stood frozen in confusion for a moment until she felt the stinging pain register on her palms. "You're hurt," Ichigo stated, probably from the rope she had been tugging on. He had seen her struggling from the stable and had decided to help her, thankfully he was already by her side when she tripped.
"I-it's okay! I'm always getting hurt, this is nothing," she stammered proudly.
He met her gaze with worry, "I know, but that doesn't mean I can't worry about you. You should be more careful Inoue, I'm just glad you didn't get anything that could scar your skin."
She felt her heart squeeze at his tender tone, "Thank you, Kurosaki..."
"Just get married."
Ichigo turned to glare at an entertained Tatsuki, his childhood friend and Orihime's best friend. She had a huge grin plastered on her face, with Chad by her side. His face was a mask of no emotion, but Ichigo could sense that his friend was enjoying this as well.
"Tatsuki! Chad!" Orihime smiled as she went over to greet them enthusiastically, her braid bouncing against her slender back.
"You shouldn't tease Orihime like that," Ichigo crossed his arms over his chest as he walked over to them.
Tatsuki rolled her eyes, "I can tease Orihime as much as I want."
Orihime and Chad looked at each other, there wasn't anyone in this village who could stop a fight between those two. That is until a loud growl of hunger alarmed them, and broke them from their bickering. "Sorry I haven't eaten yet," Orihime apologized with an embarrassed blush.
"That's alright," her friends answered in unison.
"Oh that's right, let me see your hands Orihime," Tatsuki grabbed her hands before Inoue could answer. "We can go back to your cottage and treat this. Don’t worry about that bucket Ichigo will fetch it for you from the well," she added with a motherly smile.
“What?” Ichigo glowered.
Tatsuki didn’t have to look at him, “You heard me.”
"I brought bread," Chad interjected as he showed Inoue a basket full of bread, cheese, jam, and milk.
Surely all of that wasn't for her?
Ichigo sensed her question and explained, "We pitched in our coins to help you, since you always bring us that bread from your job."
He watched as her face brightened, and at that moment he thought it was worth working in the stables if it meant he could help his friend. His lips parted to join his companion's conversation on this week's festival, but was silenced at the sudden sharp pain in his chest.
With a trembling hand he touched his racing heart and cursed under his breath, he bit the lower bottom of his lip as he struggled to push away the crawling emotion deep inside of him.
Tonight, he would have to face it once again.
Almost like a ritual, all he had to do was push it away until night.
~ ☾ ~
"You have such beautiful hair, Princess Rukia," the handmaiden praised as she brought the brush back against the dark sea of hair, each strand falling delicately against the fair skin of her shoulders.
The mirror before them sparkled under the morning light casting in from her open balcony. "Thank you Momo, but it is rather annoying," Rukia sighed as she wiggled in her chair, "It always manages to get in my way when I battle."
Momo smiled knowingly, the princess although small and sweet was full of a passion for the arts of magic and battle. The King allowed his little sister to continue to train, but only under his most trusted knight. She felt a sense of pride being the only personal handmaiden for Rukia.
"But who will you train with once the army departs today with Sir Ukitake?"
Rukia froze and blinked in confusion, "Depart...today?"
"Surely you knew that the King's army would leave at the noon. Tis something he announced yesterday during the court hour, he will be sending his best to the war taking place near the south border," Momo explained as she began to tie the hair back into a braid.
Rukia nodded in understanding but muttered rather lowly, "War..."
"Are you worried, for him?" Momo bravely asked, her fingers expertly tying a blue ribbon at the end of the braid.
The princess looked down at her delicate palms, "I've no idea of who you speak of."
"I was told by a faithful bird that he who should not be named was assigned to leave with Sir Ukitake, with a promise for a higher position if they conquer this battle," she informed as she wrapped the braid into a high bun. "A good opportunity if I may say so myself," she added before finishing the princess's look with a small silver tiara nestled in front of the bun.
Rukia was growing agitated from the topic, "Momo, I've no interest in whoever you speak of."
Momo took a step back as the princess stood from her chair, the flowing gown moving with Rukia's elegant steps. "Pack me a bag, today I've been entrusted with a mission out of the kingdom walls."
"Does thy majesty accept of this mission?" Momo asked with concern.
She turned and smiled, "His majesty does not need to know."
"Oh no," her handmaiden squeaked.
With a carefree air of indifference the princess replied coolly before leaving her chambers, "Do not worry. I will only retrieve a few items for a potion and come back by tomorrow."
Before her maid could retort she closed the door behind her and started to make her way to the stables outside, she had to make sure her mare was in perfect condition if she wanted to depart by this evening. The knights would create a perfect distraction for her to leave through the east gate.
Momo is also skillful in magic, so she would be able to create the perfect illusion. As long as no one knew that the princess was running off to acquire ingredients for a secret potion she had learned from Master Ukitake.
"The Karakura Village is but only seven hours away," Rukia muttered quietly as she ventured through the castle. Everything was going smoothly for her plan, she thought with a smile.
When she turned the corner, her eyes suddenly met the gaze of a crimson haired gentlemen. For a moment she forgot how to breathe, her body paused as she took in the warm radiance surrounding his form from the open windows.
How long has it been since she had confronted him?
Seen the blazing color of his hair...?
He had grown so much in those years they were apart, she thought silently as her eyes raked his frame.
Rukia swallowed the lump building in her throat and raised her head high and continued to walk, her gaze unwavering. The hallway suddenly felt oddly narrow as she drawled nearer to his form, her heartbeat deafening.
Just as she passed him she was held back by a strong hand on her arm, she turned to look at him and narrowed her eyes, "Release me."
He returned the glare but only answered with a bitter question that fell into a silent plea, "Tell me why..."
"You ask why you should release the kingdom's princess?" Rukia scoffed as she tried to shake his hand off, but the action only resulted in a firmer hold. "Have you no manners or respect?"
"No," he began as he took a step forward, "I know very well of our positions, my princess. But do I mean so little to you that you could forget about me?"
She tried to take a step back, but found that he had cornered her against the wall. His shoulders were so broad that she fell into a shadow of his own build, Rukia was baffled by his great size.
"You should know your rank Sir Abarai, for you are not allowed to treat your princess in such a rude manner."
"Rukia..."
Her name alone from his lips were enough to make her get lost in her emotions, she forgot to keep her composure as she brought her gaze to meet his own. An astonished gasp escaped from her lips when she noticed the warm tenderness that glowed in his orbs, it upset her that he could look at her in that way after everything that happened between them.
"You have no right to say such things, when you were the one that did not speak or come near me," she muttered weakly, noticing the distance between their faces steadily decreasing.
Renji's scowl melted as he watched her cheeks flush, her chest heave, and her sharp eyes pierce his soul. He had told himself to go along with her game since the last day they parted, but he was unable to keep such a promise when he was to leave for war in a few hours. "Rukia...I'm not of high rank yet but wait for me," he spoke so softly as he brought his thumb down to raise her head.
"You would run into a war..." Rukia struggled to not fall for his velvet voice as it entangled her heart, "...you would die for my dear brother?"
"I would charge into any battle if it means I can stand by your side," he whispered as he inclined his head toward her. His hooded eyes taking in her soft lips with an aching need to claim them, but he knew such an act would cross the line. It took everything in his body to stop himself from embracing the beauty before him, to leave her...
The sound of footsteps rebounding off the castle walls was all he needed to rip himself away from her, he gave her one last fleeting look before whispering,
"I promise I will come back...Rukia."
She gazed after him from where she stood dejectedly in the hallway. Her heart ached for her childhood friend, and dare she say it?
For his lips upon hers...
~ ☾ ~
The sky was cloaked by darkness, as the villagers went inside to the comforts of their homes. Although monsters were rare in their lands, they did not want to risk such a chance. Ichigo had heard stories of the beasts that hid in the tall trees that decorate the mountains, he was well aware of how hated these creatures were.
Myths were all the villager's could speculate about them, for all attacks would result in death. The mangled remains of the bodies would always remain to rot though as a warning. Each case would get reported to the Kingdom of Alma, and specially trained knights would hunt down the monsters responsible for the deceased life of the villager.
Ichigo suddenly faltered forward as he felt his heart shudder in pain, a low growl emanating from deep within his throat. His eyes flashed as he focused his distorted vision on the very woods forbidden to enter at night.
It was the only place he could shelter himself in, where he could drown his screams and release what lay inside of him. But he had to be quick, he should never allow anyone to catch a glimpse of his real form.
He had lost track of time, all he knew was that his legs had carried him miles deep into the woods sheltered by high mountains. All around him was nothing but deadly silence, and darkness. The light reflected from the moon showed him but fragments of his transformation, his skin had become as pale as white cotton.
Let me out! Let me be free!
The voices in his head yelled with a high screech that made him shudder. His arms reached to lean against the trunk of a tree for support, his breathing had become shallow as he tried to block the voices.
He gritted his teeth and was ready to scream with all his might, when he heard the faint sound of a woman crying for help. Ichigo stilled where he stood and wondered if it was also a figment of his mind.
No, his eyes widened as he saw a flash of blue light crash against a tree. For a moment his inhuman eyes caught the small form of a woman running away from a monster. Her dark hair swaying as she galloped with all her might.
Without hesitation he charged forward and followed them, one single thought crossed his mind.
He had to save that person.
Rukia breathed out another curse as she pointed her hand at the beast chasing her, but in the darkness she could not aim properly. Could only make it out when she used her magic. She had to kill it now or her mare was going to faint from exhaustion.
Karakura village was but an hour away...
She was not going to allow herself to die, not when she hadn’t even completed her promise with...
...Renji.
The monster suddenly shrieked in pain, and Rukia turned back and used her magic as a form of light to illuminate it. To her shock she found a man wrestling the beast to the ground, his orange hair bright under the darkness of the woods.
She stopped her mare and watched in amazement as he punched the creature across it’s cheek with inhuman power. The monster jumped up from the blow and escaped from his clutches, running away in fright.
Did such a strong person exist in the kingdom?
"Leave...now," his voice was hoarse and deep.
"Who are you?"
Before she could get an answer from him, her magic dispersed and she was left in the darkness alone.

After Our Lives
Aaaand part 3 is finished! sequel to “Reaping the Benefits”
Boy, it felt good to get this out. I have an update to that Hiatus statement I had a long time ago (aka the reason I stopped writing) that I’ll post sometime after this. I noticed that these fanfics got (literally) no traction on Tumblr, but massive amount on Ao3. Either Hololive isn’t as big on Tumblr? Or my account got shadowbanned, whatever. I’ll keep posting my random ideas here for the sake of keeping a record, in case Ao3 goes under.
Amelia and Gura never thought what happens when you go to the afterlife; but they realize now that it doesn’t really matter. It’s happening now. After getting transported via Calli Airlines, they’ve arrived in a cloudy, surreal area with large, imposing gates in front of them.
“You know, I always imagined pearly gates, but I never thought they’d ACTUALLY be made of pearls.” Gura remarks, staring up at the gates.
“They’re marble, idiot. C’mon.” Amelia rolls her eyes, taking Gura’s hand and head toward the gates. As they approach the gates, they notice someone sitting behind a pedestal of some kind, reading a newspaper. They’re an oni: red skin, horns, everything including a white robe. Along with a halo adorned on top his head. They stop for a second to notice that they too have halos.
They go up to the oni, and he stops reading his newspaper. He gives Amelia and Gura a long look, sizing both of them up, which they squirm under his gaze. He pulls out a slab of marble, which seems to have something written on it.
“Amelia Watson?” He finally asks in a tired tone, looking over to the detective.
“Uh, present?” Amelia responds dumbly, kinda blown back by what’s happening.
“And Gura... Watson?” The oni makes a face at the last name, but addresses Gura the same way.
“Right here.” Gura also responds, giving Amelia’s hand a reactive squeeze.
“... You’re clear, go right ahead.” As soon as he finishes his sentence, the large marble gates open, signaling their admission.
“Uh... Thanks.” Gura thanks, eyeing the oni quizzically.
“Wait, you.” He stops Amelia, and heaves a long sigh. “We were wondering when you were supposed to show up, Mrs. Watson. Time-travelers always screw up the filing system.” The oni remarks then goes back to his newspaper. “That’s all I wanted to say. Enjoy the afterlife.”
“Uh, okay! Sorry for the trouble.” Amelia apologizes and gives Gura a shrug. They continue on through the large gates.
.
Amelia and Gura arrive at some type of plaza, and some large metal doors close behind them as they arrive. The architecture is very Greek; stone and clay buildings, tiled colored stone paths, an exit on the other side of the clearing, and  a large tree in the center of it all. And sitting under the tree, reading a book is...
“INA!!!” Gura and Amelia rush up to their old friend, giving her a hug.
“Amelia, Gura! I was wondering when you two were going to show up!” Ina reciprocates the hug. “I knew Gura was going to take a long time, but I didn’t think Amelia would take just as long!”
“Well...” Amelia and Gura relay the whole story.
“Aww, that’s so sweet, so you decided to die in each other’s arms together?” Ina remarks, which the two blush at. “Man, you two are still adorable. Hey Kiara, Amelia and Gura are finally here!”
Before Amelia and Gura can even react, they’re taken down by an orange blur and are faced with a hug from a (former) phoenix. “AME, GURA! I MISSED YOU TWO SO MUCH!”
“We missed you too, bird-brain.” Gura chuckles, hugging her back. “I kinda knew what happened to you after I couldn’t find you in the real world, but Calli never gave a proper explanation. You’re a phoenix, how the hell did you die?”
“Oh, that!” Kiara lets go of the two. “Well after Ina and Amelia disappeared, Calli lost her human body, and you stopped communicating with me...”
“I feel we both needed some time alone...” Gura defended sheepishly.
“Hmm. Well, I gave up Hololive and just flew around the world, trying to find something to occupy myself. Turns out, I wasn’t thinking well and died a couple stupid ways. Getting run over, hit by a plane, mauled by bears, tripped into a volcano...” Kiara sweatdrops.
“Geez, kinda morbid, don’t you think?” Amelia winces.
“Hey, we’re all dead. What’s the harm?” Kiara states matter-of-factly. “Well after the 15th or so death, Calli chastises me for dying so many times so quickly. She mentioned that my phoenix soul didn’t have enough time to rematerialize in the real world. She equated it to me losing all my lives, like in a videogame.” Kiara chuckles to herself. “I was kinda sad to leave Calli, but she mentioned I could keep Ina company until you two showed up! Plus she gave me a hug right before she reaped me! If I knew I’d get a hug after killing myself for realsies, I would’ve done it a long time ago!”
“Jesus, Kiara. Care a little more about your mortality, please?” A 5th voice appears behind the group, surprising all four of them.
“CALLI???”
“Hey guys. Sorry I had to be last to the party.” Calli apologizes. She’s in casual attire: no tiara, no jacket, no familiar scythe on her back.
“CALLIII!!!” Kiara practically takes down Calli, whom grunts from the impact. “How are you here? I thought reapers couldn’t go to the afterlife? Can I hug you more?”
“First off: No. Get off me, you stupid bird, and I’ll explain everything.” Kiara lets go reluctantly and Calli dusts herself off. “Well, to explain how I’m here: Reapers can’t hold feelings for any of the souls they reap. Ever since I had to reap Ina, my powers have slowly been diminishing since then and have completely disappeared once I reaped you two.” Calli motions towards Amelia and Gura. “Needless to say, you four made quite an impression on me during my career as a part of Hololive.”
“Aww, we love you too, Calli!” Gura exclaims, holding Amelia’s hand harder.
Calli smiles at this. “So I contacted Death Sensei and asked him about a reaper “reaping” themselves. He was surprised, as a reaper has never requested this before. But my request was accepted, on the grounds that I’d lose my powers altogether. I accepted that, and here I am.” Calli finishes her explanation and breaths in slightly. “And now that that’s done: Yes Kiara, you can continue hugging me.” Kiara squeals and latches onto the former reaper again.
“Aww, she’s finally being honest.” Ina remarks, staring at the two happy couples.
“You shut your face.” Calli retorts as she puts an arm around Kiara. “I was kind of worried I wouldn’t be able to find you four, but you didn’t even make it past the entrance.”
All five of them stare at the opposing exit. “Yeah, we were waiting for you guys.” Ina mentions as she stares at the exit. “I wonder what happens now...”
“Well it doesn’t matter.” Gura states. “Now that my wife’s back by my side, she ain’t leaving it!” She pulls Amelia closer, and Amelia pecks her cheek.
“I forgot you two got married...” Calli off-handedly mentions, then stares at the former phoenix still bear-hugging her. “Sounds like a good idea...” She murmurs under her breath.
“You say something, Calli?” Kiara pipes up, having her face inches away from Calli’s.
“You didn’t hear anything, you stupid bird.” Calli pushes Kiara’s face away in a dismissive gesture.
“I hope you two aren’t going to act like this the entire time.” Amelia teases, getting a death glare from Calli. “Almost flirting is going to get boring after a while.”
“Well, no time like the present, right?” Ina chimes in. She grabs Gura’s hand (who in turn is holding Amelia’s) and Calli’s hand (who in turn is still being overwhelmed by Kiara). “Let’s find out together! As a family!”
“Yeah!” The four others exclaim.
“It sure is going to be awkward when we find our actual families.”
“Oh god, don’t make me think of that!”
Amelia, Gura, Calli, Kiara, and Ina never thought about what happens in the afterlife; but they realize now that it doesn’t really matter.
Just as long as they’re a family.

The Joker x Reader- “How To Be a Dad”
The Joker has never been around a pregnant woman before. Actually… just once, during a robbery and the poor thing fainted even if he didn’t do anything to her. You thought J would be bored with the whole process, but all he says is that he wants to see her NOW. Well, it doesn’t really work that way and your boyfriend is not famous for his patience.
Tumblr media
– At night, J likes to rest his head on your legs, face turned towards your huge bump.
“When is she coming out? I wanna see her!”
“Soon J, be patient.”
Joker and patience don’t go in the same sentence.
“But I wanna see her now, I’ve been waiting forever!”
“It’s happening soon enough.”
“Hey, Doll, do you think she already looks like me?”
“No, not yet.”
He pouts.
“Do you think she knows I’m her dad?”
“No, not yet J.”
He frowns.
“Do you think she has green hair?” he snickers, walking his fingers on your tummy.
“No, baby, no toxic green locks.”
“Do you think she has bright red hair?”
“No, I dye mine; if anything, Emma will have dark blonde hair, my natural color. Or maybe she’ll have your natural color. Is it brown or…?” “No, it’s a dark blonde too,” the Joker blurs out and after a few seconds he gasps. “Did you just…did you just make me tell you another one of my secrets, woman?!”
“Nooo, I didn’t make you do anything,” you smirk, trying not to laugh, all innocent and sweet.
“You’re sneaky, Y/N, stop it!” he pinches your thigh, aggravated you took advantage of him being smitten with the unborn baby. “Oh my God!” J shouts when he notices the small hand moving right under your skin. “There she is!” he excitedly touches her, sensing the shift. “This is so cool- cooler than being chased by Batsy,” he admits, huffing. “Jerk!” The Joker mutters, then pays attention to you again. “Does it hurt when she does that?” (he asks this very often and the reply never changes).
“No, handsome, she’s just wiggling around. Anxious to get out, I’m sure. Have you ever been around a pregnant person before?”
“Once, during a bank robbery. I decided to do it in plain daylight and this lady was there. She fainted.”
“What did you do to her?” You try to reach him but can’t bend at all.
“Nothing, she just passed out when me and my men took over the place. There she is again!” he grins and one of Emma’s tiny feet stretches out pretty high this time. “Do you know what this reminds me of?”
“No, but please do share,” you sigh, curious to hear about another crazy idea for sure.
“Aliens movie! You think she might just burst out of there?” J pokes your bump, then caresses the skin to feel his daughter once more.
You start giggling, amused:
“I think we’re good on that one. She’ll come out the right way, no worries.”
“Oh, I forgot I got her something,” The Joker suddenly realizes and jumps out of bed.
“More stuff?!” you tease since the unborn has a room full of baby things.
“This is better than any of them,” J fumbles inside the closet and finally brings over the shiny diamond tiara he places on top of your tummy. “Here, a Princess should have one,” he excitedly brags and goes back to his favorite spot on your legs.
“Where did you get it from?!” “Gotham’s Bank vault,” he winks, proud of his achievement and scoots closer so you can touch him since you look so pathetic when you keep on trying and fail.
“And I was thinking you bought it, baby,” you wrap a strand of his hair around your chubbier than usual finger.
“I did, just forgot to pay,” he mocks, making sure the sparkly crown stays in place.
And you both have a good laugh about it - your boyfriend can be so funny sometimes, even if he thinks he’s funny all the time.
The Joker closes his blue eyes and you brush your index finger against his long eyelashes.
“What is it, Pumpkin?” he yawns, opening one eye.
“Could you please bring me a sliced cucumber and chocolate syrup?”
“Yuck, I don’t know how you can eat that disgusting combo,” he shivers, grossed out by your choices in food lately.
“I’m craving a bunch of weird snacks, I can’t help it. Remember last month when all I wanted was apple sauce with radishes and cinnamon powder?”
“Ewww, yes. I guess this is an upgrade, Doll. Can’t you go in the kitchen and make your own plate? I’m tired.”
You point out towards your diamond decorated bump:
“I can’t move or this will fall.”
“Uggghhh, fine, I’ll be back,” J agrees, dragging his feet on the carpet because he’s not in the mood for too much except staring at your belly to see Emma move.
– He feels nauseated watching you munch on your repulsive late dinner. J would love to fall asleep but the damn cucumbers are so crunchy when you bite out of them.
“Are you done, Y/N? I wanna sleep.”
“Done, the last one!” you shove the slice in your mouth and lean over him to place the bowl on the nightstand.
“Jesus, Princess, how much do you weight??!!” J puffs under your heaviness, over exaggerating, of course.
You’re a delicate little flower that doesn’t need negative comments.
“Whatever!!!! This is your fault!” you give him a sassy gaze, pinning him under you for a few more seconds this way he learns his lesson.
He just can’t talk like that to delicate little flowers.
“ I didn’t do anything,” The Joker pulls you in for a kiss, purring. “Just had some fun with my girl, the rest… you’re responsible for!” he taunts, delighted you can’t do too much but squirm on top of him.
“You’re so…so…so,” you stutter, outraged, not being able to find the word.
“What is this?!” he puckers his lips, intrigued when he feels it.
You try to look down in between the two of you without success.
“I think my water broke!”
– “Pumpkin, are you gonna die?” he growls, checking you out worried sick; he’s been asking this every 5 minutes in the last six hours.
“For God’s sake, I’m not dying !! I’m giving birth!”, you shriek through your clenched teeth, breathing in and out in a frenzy.
“Are you sure?” J triple checks furthermore.
“Yes, I’m sure,” and you squeeze his hand so hard you hear a few bones crack.
“Auuuchhh, don’t break my hand!” he whines, taking a step back.
“Take your rings off!” you urge him, panting. “It makes it worse.”
He hurries and does it, dumping them in a cup on the table.
“Give me your hand!” you shout, feeling the strong contractions hit your body with paralyzing strength.
“Ummm, don’t break it, OK?” he hesitantly gives it back, hoping for the best.
Who knew such a delicate little flower as yourself can have so much vigor?!
“Where’s my daughter?” The Joker stretches his free arm to lift the sheet covering you from the waist down and regrets it in the next moment. He’s seen a lot of messed up shit in his life but this takes the cake.
“Pretty soon, Mister J,” the doctor replies, wishing the Clown Prince of Crime would just behave and wait.
“ Kitten,” J gulps, even more tense. “Are you sure you’re not dying?”
“I’m sure, stop asking!” you groan, resting your head on the pillow. “This is your fault!” you blame J again, annoyed and in so much pain you are seeing red spots.
Your boyfriend completely ignores your outburst, tilting over to peck your forehead.
“Hurry up, Princess, I need to see her!”
“So sorry about the inconvenience!!!” you scream, muttering something else under your labored breathing. It wasn’t a nice statement.
“Yuck, Doll, you’re all sweaty!” he complains, wiping his lips.
Huh??! ! Delicate little flowers don’t get sweaty!!!!
“J, you’re not helping!” you state the obvious and push again, exhausted and anxious in the same time. You crush his fingers so hard J thinks his arm fell off. He wants to object but the doctor finally articulates the words he’s been craving to hear for so long:
“Alright, here she is!” and the crying starts after a few seconds.
– First time The Joker held Emma, he forgot to breathe.
“She looks like a little doll,” he whispers, mesmerized on how cute she is. “How long do you think it will take before she resembles us?”
“A while,” you take a deep breath and blink slowly, so jaded you can hardly speak.
The little one fusses and he almost panics, not knowing what to do but she calms down when he gently rocks her.
“I think…I think she smiled at me!” J exclaims. You doubt it, but can’t spoil his joy:
Delicate little flowers don’t do such things to a man they love.
“That’s because she knows you’re her dad,” you utter, making it even better for the new father.
“Really?” he kisses her cheek with an almost childish curiosity. ”You think so Y/N?”
“Yeah, now that you have her in your arms, she knows,” you rub your face, fighting to stay awake.
The Joker feels so many emotions at once and has no clue how to handle any of them. He’s not the one to analyze himself but damn, it’s just so overwhelming his chest hurts. Can’t be a heart attack, he’s too young.
He paces alongside your bed, careful not to wake the newborn.
“Hey, Pumpkin, when can we have sex again?” he bites his lip, eager to go back to fun stuff.
“It’s gonna be a while, baby. Not too much, ok?” you quickly add when notice how disappointed he is. “ I just basically squeezed a watermelon through a prune so give me some credit. Be patient, please.”
Joker and patience don’t go in the same sentence.
“Just hurry up and get better, I have needs!” he sulks but winks when he realizes you don’t look too excited at his yapping.
Ahhh, such a charmer.
But you can’t rush this process on delicate little flowers.
Even the King of Gotham needs to understand it.

Daddy Duties
Simon Dominic (AOMG) x Y/N (Reader) Genre: Family / Romance Count: 2,083 Warning: Fluff Rating: G Requested: By @thessamd and also a few other anons who wanted Simon D fluff! Sorry for the long wait! I hope you all enjoy it :) P.S. I’ve always wanted to call Simon daddy ;) ayeee
Tumblr media
"Kisa, come on, baby," Simon urged as gently as he could in his gravely voice. His one and half year old daughter was currently trying to rip off a leaf on the plant in the lobby of the AOMG building. When she didn't budge, he took her tiny fingers in his grasp and lead her down the hall, smiling when the front desk girls cooed at her.
His dark eyes trailed after the little tyke when she unlatched herself from his hands to run down the hall and into an open elevator. Her curly hair was tied in two messy pony-tails, obviously done by none other than himself, and bounced just as she did when the door closed behind him. Her Jordans matched his, as well as their coordinated outfits, which was just light denim jeans and black long sleeves since it was nearing fall. She was babbling in her baby language but when the doors slid open, she was sprinting once again.
Since she was constantly around the building, it didn't take her long to find the room she was looking for. Kisa pushed her small palms against the door, smiling when her father turned the handle for her. Yelling her baby greeting, the two figures sitting in front of the large Mac computer swirled around to face the newcomers.
"Kisa!" Jaebum shouted back, arms scooping her up and snuggling her into his neck. "Hey, cutie pie!"
Kiseok smiled at the display of affection before sitting on the couch against the wall. Seonghwa smirked when he noticed the oldest male's tired slouch, "You look even worse than usual, hyung. Is Kisa giving you a run for your money?"
Definitely not having the energy to argue, he just sighed loudly, "I forgot how tiring kids were. I don't know how Y/N keeps up with her all day."
"That's only because you're old and Y/N is young," he commented with a snicker.
Kiseok glared before focusing back on his co-CEO's intense conversation with his only child. "I can't wait for when you have kids so they can give you hell."
Jay planted her feet on the ground to let her roam around, shaking his hair with one hand, "Kisa isn't bad though. She's really good, actually."
Nodding his head in agreement, Kiseok let his eyes trail on her small form. "She is, but I know nothing about taking care of little girls."
"Isn't Y/N a little girl? You should be an expert th-" Seonghwa couldn't finish his teasing as one of the throw pillows was thrown into his face, causing him to chuckle.
"Shut the hell up, brat."
Interrupting their banter, Jay nodded towards the toddler, "You did her hair this morning?"
"Yeah. Y/N left before Kisa was done with her breakfast so I got her ready. Why?"
"'Cause it looks terrible. Come here, Kisa, Uncle Jay is gonna fix your hair," he beckoned her with a few flicks of his wrist.
Seonghwa chuckled into his hand once again at seeing his hyung's eye roll. Jay took down the pig-tails with a bit of difficulty since they were tangled in her curls before separating her hair down the middle. He pulled her hair into two identical, neat pony-tails and patted the top of her head once he was completed. "See? It's not that hard."
Simon dismissed him with a wave of his hand, "Yeah, yeah. I tried, alright?"
They laughed at his obvious pouting before turning their attention back to the toddler, who was pressing keys on the switchboard with her chubby fingers. After visiting with a few of her favorite uncles, it was time for them to get some lunch, so without much convincing, all four of them (plus Hyukwon and Hoody) decided to go grab a bite. Kisa was shoving fists full of spaghetti in her mouth, half of it missing completely and ending up on her shirt, when Kiseok's phone rang. He picked it up, balancing it between his ear and shoulder while he attempted to wipe his daughter's pasta covered mouth over her whining.
"Hey, baby, how's everything?" Your sweet voice was music to his ears.
Upon hearing you, his lips curled into a smile, ignoring the fact that Kisa was slurping noodles at this point. "Hey, yeah, we're doing fine. Kisa is...eating right now."
"Great! I was just calling to check in. We're at the resort now, checking in and all that. Oh! You gave Kisa her cold medicine at eleven, right?"
For a brief moment, his dark eyes grew wide before quickly coughing in his closed fist. Fuck, he totally forgot about the medicine! It was already almost one in the afternoon too. Hoody, who was across from him, raised an eyebrow before helping Kisa grab her sippy cup full of water. "O-Oh, yeah, I did but she doesn't look sick to me..."
He heard you huff from the other side before reprimanding one of your friends, "Yah, turn the key the other way. Babe, she needs to finish the medicine to make sure her cold is gone. Doctor's orders. Shit, Taeyeon-ah, I need to pick up the cake for tonight- I'll call you later, okay? Remember Kisa needs another dose around five today! Bye, love you!"
Kiseok didn't bother to say bye as he heard the dial tone before grabbing the device and setting it down. Hoody gave him a questioning look, which he tried to ignore. After a few seconds, he leaned forward so she could hear him over the ruckus of the restaurant, "Is it bad that I forgot to give Kisa her medicine at eleven?"
His answer was a small chuckle and a quick head shake. At her lack of response, Kiseok sighed before leaning back, taking in how his daughter grabbed fist fulls of pasta and proceeded to shove it in her mouth. Of course, majority of the noodles slipped passed her chubby fingers, creating a huge mess all over her as well as the table and floor. It's going to be a long two days without you.
The second day went a little more smoother for the clueless dad. He took your advice and decided to take Kisa somewhere educational but also fun, not that the studio wasn't fun but it wasn't as educational as Jay proclaimed it to be. They spent the day at the zoo and had a great time. She was a little scared of the bigger animals like the elephants but she was brave and didn't let that fear get in the way of marveling at the creatures. He spent the time following after her, recording her on his Instagram and Snapchat as well as sending you and the rest of his family three minute long videos of her pointing and running around. He even took a selfie with her eating her ice cream under an umbrella, her wide smile flashing the pink of the strawberry dessert to the camera.
By the time they got home, Kisa was knocked out in her car seat, snores coming from her deep sleep. As he carried her into her room and tucked her in, Kiseok called it a successful day. However, as he walked into the living room, he couldn't help but groan. He forgot to clean up from yesterday, which meant there were all kinds of toys scattered around the living room, dolls and pink plastic cars taking over the coffee table as well as the dishes piled in the sink from their snacks and meals over the last two days.
He cracked his knuckles and got to work. Tomorrow he had plans to take Kisa to the amusement park that was about an hours drive, so they wouldn't be at home much. After putting away all the toys and tidying up in the kitchen as well, it was finally time for some sleep. He was definitely going to need it for tomorrow.
In the morning, Kiseok woke to Kisa climbing into the bed and draping herself over him in an attempt to rouse him from sleep. His phone rang and she took it upon herself to grab it and press the green button, her dark eyes lighting up as she heard your voice through the device. After your daughter had rattled off what they had in store for today in her baby language, Kiseok took over the conversation for a little bit, smiling when Kisa dashed out to pick out her outfit today.
"You'll be home around three?" He asked, the phone balancing between his shoulder as he pulled on jeans.
"Hm," You paused from the other side, "Maybe a little earlier, depending on the traffic. The wedding starts in two hours and I'm leaving after the reception anyway."
He hummed in acknowledgment while rummaging for a shirt. "Okay, we'll probably beat you home then."
"We'll see~ anyway, babe, I think I hear Heejin coming to take group pictures. I'll see you later, love you guys."
Almost as soon as he hung up, Kisa barged in, handing her father a little pink hair brush and some rubber bands for her hair. With no other choice, he sighed and mentally prayed this would go smoother than yesterday's disaster. To his amazement, Jay's advice actually worked better than he expected, although he'd never tell the young CEO that. His ego was big enough without more compliments.
It didn't take long to get to the amusement park since it was rather near by. Kisa was rather fidgety by the time they got in so he thanked God she got distracted by all the rides and let her lead the way basically the whole day.
Spinning in an over-sized tea cup, Kiseok took a moment to lean back and admire his daughter's bubbling laughter, smile as wide as her muscles would allow. It was times like this where he realized just how blessed his life has been so far. A successful career in his dream occupation, a loving wife and a healthy, happy daughter, who could ever ask for more than this? There wasn't much he wouldn't do for his child, and he knew very well once the doctor told you both it was a girl, he would spoil her. She was a daddy's girl in every aspect of the word, even if he had to be away for work for long periods of time.
A little after lunch, he realized that he probably shouldn't have spoiled her too much with all these toys since you'd definitely get on his case later on tonight. But she was too cute in that purple princess tiara!
"Do you want that crown, baby?" He asked when she reached for another color.
"Oh, lord, you've got your father wrapped around your pretty little finger, don't you?" A smooth voice teased from the left of the two.
Instantly placing the voice, both of them turned to see you, hands on your hips and an amused smile on your lips. "Oppa, why in the world did you buy her so much toys?" You asked, gesturing towards the full plastic bag in his grip.
Kisa launched herself in your direction, wrapping her tiny arms around your legs and burring her head in your knees. Smirking at the display of affection, Kiseok brought up his free hand in surrender. "She gave me no choice. I don't stand a chance against her puppy eyes."
Rolling your eyes, you picked up the talkative tot and gave her a big kiss that had her squirming and giggling in your hold. "Yeah, yeah, just admit it. She's got you whipped."
Laughing, he shook his head before moving closer to give you a kiss in greeting. It would've lasted much longer had Kisa's tiny hands not moved your faces apart as she made a face accompanied by a high pitched, "Ew!"
"Ew?" Kiseok raised one brow before snatching her up and rapidly placing kisses all over her face while she giggled and wiggled away from him.
You smiled to yourself. As much as you needed the alone time, you really missed your little family in those two days. It was good to be home.

Goblin: The Lonely and Great God - Episodes 7-10 Recap: Life just got a lot more complicated
Tiara: Happy New Year Chingus!!!! With the holidays and our busy schedules, we decide to collect a bunch of Goblin episodes before talking about them. Hopefully going forward with the rest of Goblin, we will be discussing week to week.
Tumblr media
Tiara: It’s been a few weeks since we last got together and boy there is a lot to talk about. Where should we start? The Goblin Bride’s purpose is the pull the sword - let’s start there. Eun Tak wasn’t able to pull the sword out when we last got together, however she was able to not only grab the sword but to pull it. It got me to thinking what changed for Eun Tak to be able to become the Goblin’s Bride?
Logan: What a great place to start. There definitely seemed to be a significant change in Kim Shin’s frame of mind that lead to Eun Tak being able to finally grasp the sword. You can see the look on his face as he makes his mind up about something right before he hugs her. It was a significant moment. To me, it seemed as though he had given into himself-that he was finally willing to admit to himself that he loves her.
June: I agree with you Logan! I think that was the pivotal moment in this drama where he finally knew he loved her, and thus she really became his bride and was able to grasp the sword!
Tumblr media
Tiara: That could be a reason considering love is a theme of the drama. It seems most of our cast of characters haven’t been very good in the love department. One thing I notice, the sword didn’t have the bloody cloth the first time, but the second time it was there. I wonder if there is any significance to that cloth of dry blood.
Logan: Haha. Isn’t that the truth! Things between the Grim Reaper and Sunny are a disaster, but at the same time seems hardly irreparable-thankfully! Very observant about the blood. I didn’t notice that. I’m sure there is significance to the blood. That moment became very dangerou to Eun Tak too as the Goblin nearly killed her. Luckily his powers also allowed him to save her. But within the scope of two weeks she’s nearly died at least 3 times-possibly more. She’s like the new Jan Di (cf Boys over Flowers) Seriously, though. I’m worried one of these times the Goblin won’t get to her in time.
June: Oh I know right! I'm just like on my toes now whenever I watch this drama because she's gotten too close to getting hurt lately.
Tumblr media
Tiara: However, we know that Subway money is going to good use. For sure, Grim Reaper and Sunny are the weirdest couple in dramaland. It’s sweet and adorable, but very odd. I guess when you’re dating the Grim Reaper it’s going to be a strange relationship. I can’t put my finger on why the first time didn’t work but the second did. It’s still driving me crazy which is how I notice the bloody cloth. It also made me look at the color. Black, Blue, Red, and White are pretty much all over the place in Goblin. Shin’s power is a blue-green color and the scarf Eun Tak wears is a bright red. This has to be the connection, right?
Logan: OMG-that Subway product placement is starting to drive me nuts. A lot of dramas have Subway spots these days, but it’s excessive in Goblin. Lol. I just have to tell myself that it’s the same as if they had a favorite Cafe they frequented. The drama is a very visual one and so I think color is made to have a big significance not only to pull us in, but I agree that there does seem to be more to it. 100 points to whoever can crack the color code. Another person for whom color is significant is god, or the woman we’ve been calling Red Granny. Red is a color that her and Eun Tak share in common. That’s probably not a coincidence either. God is always wearing all red and Eun Tak has the one very important red item. I think the writers and producers put a lot of thought into these themes.
June: Yeah the colors in this drama seem to play a bigger role than most dramas I've seen. Especially with the red color. I really commend this drama production for its’ attention to detail.
Tumblr media
Tiara: For sure, June. It’s believe that Granny in Red is a deity know as Sam Shin who is known as the goddess of birth. It explains why she is super protective of Eun Tak. It does make me wonder what her plan is for Eun Tak. Why did she work so hard for her to live? Also, the color of blue is something Deok Hwa wears a lot. You can see him wearing the color doing his pasting by with Grandma Sam Shin in the first episode. There are theories out there that Deok Hwa is a deity himself. The deity known as Elder Wol Ha, the overseer of marriages. It kinda makes some sense in some ways why these two continue to meet up. On the other hand Deok Hwa’s blue represents Shin’s blue. It could have meaning or I could be talking about nothing.
Logan: I think I saw that theory out there too. I mean, anything’s possible in Dramaland, right? Although Duk Hwa would have to be reincarnated then since Shin has known and helped raise him since he was a child. One thing I’ve noticed that is recurring, is the innocence of children. Both Kim Shin and Red Granny both watch after and protect children from the little boy in the hospital that Granny helped to the Chairman’s secretary who Shin became the patron of - children seem to have much more good in them than adults as Shin pointed out earlier.
June: I've seen a few theories about Duk Hwa as well but it makes me wonder where it all fits in because he has been reincarnated and been with Shin for a while now. But once again anything can happen in dramaland.
Tumblr media
Tiara: Oh Dramaland, where everyone knows one another and anything can happen. Switching back to Granny Sam Shin, she told Shin, death will continue to go after Eun Tak if she doesn’t fulfill her purpose as the Goblin’s Bride. However, isn’t she a missing soul and death plans to take her on her 29, 39, and birthdays that end in 9? The scary threat didn’t really hold weight for me after hearing from the Grim Reaper earlier. However, I’m glad Grim Reaper told Eun Tak the truth about the sword. I really love the bonding relationship between those two.
Logan: Okay, I’m sure everyone who’s ever read any of my posts or drama clubs is going to be really really surprised to hear this (I’m beings sarcastic here)-but I love the Grim Reaper. He’s my absolute favorite thing about this drama so in a sense, as I almost always do, I have second male lead syndrome. However, I absolutely don’t ship him with Eun Tak. I just think that Dong Wook really makes this drama shine with his portrayal of the reaper. His relationships with the Goblin, Eun Tak, and Sunny are all charming and hilarious in their own way. I love that he’s become really close with Eun Tak when he once tried to take her life. I also love the fact that he’s come to terms with the fact that him and Kim Shin have become close friends even though they hated each other at first. It’s just too cute.
Tumblr media
June: I love the Grim Reaper as well! His friendship with everyone in the drama is seriously the best. It just shows how far everyone has come friendship-relationship wise in this drama. The bromance in this drama has been a gift given to us all.
Tiara: Haha!!! No I’m not surprise at all, Logan. How can you not love Grim Reaper? He’s just super adorable. He’s dead pan is cute. Dong Wook has really done something special. There are times I get Blade Man vibes from the character and that isn’t a bad thing. I whole heartly love the family unit Shin, Eun Tak, Grim Reaper, and Deok Hwa have made. The moment when her three guys were waiting for her with the cake had me in tears. It was super sweet.
Logan: Yes, that scene had me near tears too! She hasn’t had people to care for her in a long time and now she has a family. Another scene that got me right in the heart was when Eun Tak realizes the ghosts that she’s been friends with for some time is actually the ghost of her mom’s best friend from high school and she has stayed on the earth for the sole purpose of watching over her and keeping her money safe. That scene was a tear-jerker. What a powerful friendship she must have had with Eun Tak’s mother in order to do something like that and what a cool parallel that she ended up having close friendships with both girls in the course of her life and afterlife.
Tumblr media
June: Oh my gosh, all those scenes were so emotional for me! I agree with both of you all! I feel like it's been so long that Eun Tak actually had someone to care for her and now she has it. Poor girl has really gone through a lot.
Tiara: Jung Hyun turning out to be Eun Tak’s mom’s friend was the best twist. But I’m with you, Logan. I was a bawling mess during the whole scene. Jung Hyung stayed as a ghost to look after her friend’s child because of a promise really does make her the greatest best friend ever. The fact she hide all those bankbooks for Eun Tak actually makes me giggle a bit. If only Eun Tak’s aunt knew, I would loved to have seen her face. Speaking of aunt, she’s in prison. The best form of karma I’ve seen. I enjoyed seeing her try to intimidate Secretary Kim. Haha!!! Nice try lady, but he’s way more scarier than her.
Tumblr media
Logan: Talk about Kdrama karma in action with Eun Tak’s evil aunt. There’s nothing quite like Kdrama karma.  Secretary Kim is quickly become more and more endearing to me. At first I couldn’t decide if he was evil or not, but I think he just doesn’t have a care in the world for what other people think- including the rich and powerful - and I super respect that. Ugh, but I almost forgot about the sad news we got in the form of Kim Shin’s vision of the future and the apparent death of the chairman. Why do they always have to kill the sweet good-natured characters?
June: Chairman’s death is really going to make me into a bawling mess. I already know it! I really hope that Secretary Kim doesn't turn out to be a bad guy. But I feel like someone has to be? I don't know!
Tumblr media
Tiara: Secretary Kim also had me worried too. When he connected the dots about Shin never aging, I worried. Yet, we found out Shin has been Secretary Kim’s patron. Pretty much Shin has raised him. I’m still wondering if he is the reincarnation of Joong Won. I may be overthinking things, but the two actors look a lot alike. I’m not sure about that, June. I think the gods, time, and their situation is enough of a villain to not really need a person. As for the Chairman, I refuse to think about Grandpa’s death.
Logan: No, I’m right there with you, Tiara. Secretary Kim and Joong Won do seem a bit similar, but I’m hoping for the best. Maybe the Grim Reaper will decide to stop the Chairman’s death for some reason. His compassion seems to keep growing, after all. Speaking of the Grim Reaper, the one scene I just have to mention is the scene where he and Kim Shin are walking back from buying leeks trying to look like models and recreate the moment they saved Eun Tak from the kidnappers since she told them they looked cool. I was dying!
June: Bless whoever thought to put that scene in because it was literally pure gold!
Tumblr media
Tiara: That’s a great way to put it. You can also add Shin to the mix too. Shin was a general who protect the people. He was given a command by the than King to protect his brother when he becomes King. He died by the command of his King (Yeo) and turned into the one thing his King feared, a god. Not just any god, but one who protects the people. It will be interesting if this holds any weight to the overall theme. The drama has finally confirmed Sunny is Shin’s sister from the past. I want more time with these two together. It was clearly obvious these two are siblings before it was outed.
June: I was glad my hunch on Sunny being the sister was correct when they confirmed it! I just want to see more of them interact though!
Logan: It’s a more realistic view of humankind, I think. Good people aren’t good all the time and bad people aren’t bad all the time truthfully. People are complicated. The scenes that take place in the Goryeo period and that tell the tale of Kim Shin, his sister-Kim Sun- and the king almost need to be their own drama. I find myself glued to the screen during any one of those flashbacks. I loved seeing that Shin and Sun really loved each other. But I especially enjoyed the romance between Sun and the king. I wanted to see so much more of it. The two have great chemistry.
Tumblr media
Tiara: The siblings in Goryeo period just makes me sad. The relationship between Sun and the King is just heartbreaking. Sunny in present-day still has a lot of her personality from the past. Sun was bold and spoke her mind and she clearly still does this evening without knowing anything. With Sun and Shin dead, I do wonder what happen with Yeo all alone with Eunuch Won. What drove Yeo to paint Sun’s portrait over and over before his own death.
June: I'm hoping we do get to see more of what happened after their deaths and how the king ended up. I feel like there's so much stuff that can be seen with Goryeo time and present time, I hope they find time to show it.
Tumblr media
Logan: It would be interesting to know what the king went through after their deaths. So I wasn’t sure if that’s what we were seeing when we saw a shot of Dong Wook dressed in Goryeo clothes in a historical scene. I kind of assumed he was supposed to be the king having aged and sounds like I’m not the only one who got that out of that scene.
Tiara: It could be right before his death or the years after. I get the feeling Grim Reaper will finally be learning his past life soon. I wonder how his relationship with Sunny will go. There was a Grim Reaper who run away with his former wife from his past. However, I don’t see Sunny running away with Grim Reaper no matter how cute he looks. I’m wondering if Sunny will remember the past too.
Tumblr media
Tiara: Chingus in Dramaland has our next drama scheduled once Goblin is over. The drama we plan to cover will be “Almost Paradise”. I’ll let you all enjoy the clue. Until next time, watch more dramas.
