Disclaimer before you continue.

I am going to be mentioning some things that may condradict a few oneshots I have made in the past but that was years ago and these are my real views on these characters.

Also I'm a writer so I write what my readers want to see though it isn't my favorite thing bc I only find writing enjoyable because I'm writing about what I like.

Also I wanted to publish this on Bisexuality day of Pride Month but I just couldn't wait😅 So early celebrations💖💜💙

With that said please comment your own thoughts and opinions!

Okay, so to begin.

There is a big difference between Sam and Dean when it comes to their sexualities. As in the writers chose to write Sam as a comfortably straight character who isn't put in situations with other men that have him stumbling over words or actions but didn't chose to do the same for Dean.

They are the writers of the show. They didn't have to make Dean so queer.

To me Sam is 100% straight but the kind of straight that if there was an instance in which he was attracted to a man he would act on this with little to no hesitation.

Dean on the other hand is written at first like he's overcompensating, trying to prove that he is straight just like his brother BUT the situations he his put in with men can at times be mirrored with the situations Sam is put in with women.

I would also like to mention that Dean is a masculine man. Yes he enjoys certain things society deems 'girly' but most of the time he comes off as masculine.

But that shouldn't even matter because I don't know is Supernatural is aware but masculine men can be bisexual.

It isn't a new concept they aren't a dying breed. Men can drink beers, go hunting, flirt with women, love guns, cars and cowboy films and still be attracted to men.

That's just fact.

Anywhoo

The earliest instance Dean is shown to express queerness is around S4. (I am not mentioning Cas because I really don't need to to make any of my Dean is bi points) One of my favorite episodes for this is Sex and Violence.

For many reasons.

● The bad guy is established to kill his victims by causing them to fall in love with him which would then allow him to kill them.

And the method used is swapping saliva, so kissing.

So when Dean is put under this trance and Sam finds out that Nick Monroe is the monster they're after he never questions how he his saliva came into contact with Dean. Most likely just assuming and completely okay with the fact that they kissed or engaged in sexual activity.

Also I would like to note that Nick was with Dean at the same time Sam was with the hospital lady.

It's almost as if they both had love interests for the episode.. hmm *strokes not existent beard thoughtfully*

● Another point which is real fact with proof that I can't believe actually exists is that back in 2009 (when the episode came out) the actor who plays Nick Monroe (one of my favorite ppl love him on 9-1-1 Lonestar😍) had and interview or something like that where he admits that upon reading the script he believed his affect over Dean was mean't to be romantic/sexual and not brotherly like the tried to pass it off as.

●Lastly, during my rewatch of SPN during each episode I watch I go to IMDB to look and trivia of the episode and or reviews and most the reviews for this episode (Sex and Violence) were about how viewers believed it was mean't to be the start of Dean's bisexuality in the show.

Some of them go into good detail so you should definitely look at them.

S5 enters Dean's 'man crush' on Dr Sexy and scenes such as Dean casually lifting up a blanket to see a guys dick, the scene with 'The Chief' which tbh I just find funny and so forth.

But ignoring all the small moments of bisexual awkwardness I'm gonna jump straight to Dean and Reoccuring Male Characters

● Leo

I'm going to do this in order of Dean's oldest male lovers to newest (with the ommison of Castiel.)

We meet Leo Webb is S15, he's an old 'friend' of Dean's I'm guessing they would have met when Dean was around 23-24.

I love to headcanon that Lee was Dean's first romantic relationship with another man and Lee helped him to be comfortable with himself.

In the episode they are obviously hinted at to have been more than friend and are told that they had fivesome with three triplets meaning they canonically had sex.

This again is something writers did not need to add but I feel as though the only way they could get away with Dean have sex with other man is if they stuck a few women in the middle.

Another moment mentioned was when they reminised about how they got drunk on a hunt (leaving what else could have happened to the viewers imagination)

To be honest I wish Lee was introduced earlier because I love what he adds to Dean's character but I'm surprised they even gave us him at all seeing as I thought s15 was going to be strictly Destiel.

In canon his character was a 7/10

And when left to the imagination or with subtext included 9/10

(Note: I'm going off what I remeber about this episode because I physically and mentally cannot watch s15 again)

●Crowley

Dean hated Crowley until he became a demon which allowed them to become close friends. There isn't much I can say about them because their relationship was not romantic only sexual.

But is VERY canon that they had sex- albeit it was in threesomes, foursomes etc

●Benny

Benny was a vampire. Dean was supposed to hate him but the character was made to act like a rebound for Dean after his fall out with Cas.

(I'm gonna do a proper Destiel take later but just for now I'll mention it.)

It's a common trope in televsion that when a couple breaks up (Dean and Cas) in the following season or episode a new love interest arrives (Benny) to stur things up and crrate a love triangle.

Benny and Dean became very close and whether or not they were aware of their feelings for each other is unknown. But it was incredibly upsetting when Dean was forced to kill the man he clearly had feelings for to save his brother.

Benny was a great character on his own or with Dean and it was such a let down to see him killed so quickly.

●Aaron

Okay this one is a bit funny but let me be CLEAR I don't believe an attraction ever really passed between Aaron and Dean.

Let me explain.

The scene we all know and love where Aaron is tailing Dean and Dean gets all flustered after Aaron lies and says he was hoping to maybe get a date with Dean is amazing.

The bisexual flusteredness of Dean and how he handled it was hilarious.

But in all seriousness I feel like Dean was only so flustered because he was isn't open about what he believes only he knows so Aarons attraction to him caught him off gaurd.

Fun Fact: There is a recording of the SPN writers talking about how they wrote the scene to play on Dean's queer panic and how it could open doors for people to see him as more than just into girls etc

●Arthur Ketch

Okay this one is just for me but OH MY GOD why did Mary have to sleep with Ketch??? Him and Dean could have had the best hate sex ever 😫

Anywayss *wipes tear* here are some honerable mentions.

○Gunner Lawless

First of all SPN KNEW what they were doing when they intercut Sam meeting his first crush (a woman) with Dean meeting his favorite wrestler/obvious crush (A man)

Dean's obsession with Gunner was similar to Sam's and was no different from how anybody else would act around their celebrity crush.

Also they definitely fucked (I know it in my soul.)

○Donnie The Bartender

Okay so we ALL loved when Dean decided to spend his time away from Sam and outside the bunker doing something he found fun.

Eating nachos, hustling rich kids and flirting with the cute bartender.

I wish they interacted more but the single wink has to suffice I guess.

I still have to make a fic where Dean goes home with him bc that totally would have happend.

In conclusion Dean Winchester is Bisexual and SPN writers are pussies

8:11 is a rpgmaker horror game by dubuk :3 you play as ryker dublin a french priest who gets caught in the rain with their friend Leon and has to take shelter in an abandoned church cuz of the hard rain BUT..... smth bad happens

SPOILER FOR THE FULL GAME FROM HERE ON!!!!

While theyre exploring the abandoned church Leon is killed by a guy name Dante, and is mangled... kinda bad from it, but anywaud. Ryker finds Leon injured as he is abt to get killed and Leon intrusts his very special Bible to them that only Leon is able to read as anyone else who reads it dies (or is injured in some way, depends on how much they read), and tells ryker not to open the Bible no matter what until Leon tells them to. So Leon dies and ryker finds out that he has ties to a place called Rosso Cadare, specifically the basilica there, a few years later ryker travels to the Rosso Cadare and meets two fellows named Juliek and Accardi (theyre more important later, forget abt them rn), and then heads to the basilica (which is abandoned by now btw) then meeting Vittorino, who is a priest who lives there and is not very happy abt ryker being the the basilica and tells them to get out (vittorino is a bit... off his rocker), ryker then leaves and gets hit by accardi who was drunk driving, ryker can not go the hospital however bc their too broke and have no health-care (due to the fact they don't live rosso cadare) so accardi just takes him home. I'm not gonna explain ALL of the lore in detail bc its a little complicated and there's a bunch of other lore with certain characters SO I'm gonna tell u abt some of the characeters!!!

Accardi is cannonically implied to be a cannibal as he's had dreams where ate his father before and also says he gets "hungry" when looking at a corpse. Him and ryker are cannonical love interests, they go on a little bar date and accardi asked bascially if he can kiss ryker, he sews up rykers mouth for them, ryker also gives him an orange (in rosso oranges represent love and giving an orange to someone is basically saying "I love you" to them), accardi also used to date juliek but they are no longer dating. Accardi also has an interest and surgerical procedures and even performs an illegal surgery on someone (him sewing up rykers mouth as I mentioned), he also likes antique furniture :3

Juliek speaks atleast several(?) Languages fluently I'm pretty sure and used to work as a translator for people in rosso, juliek also has a daughter whose around 7 I think?? And An ex wife named Susan.

Vittorino hates rabbits as the basilica in its earlier days was very crowded and people would call them "rabbits" due to how they were packed in. After finding ryker in the basilica for either the second or third time he rips out 3 of their wisdom teeth while laying on their ribs (as to hurt them as ryker was already injured before this), he only pulls out three of rykers wisdom teeth as "3 is a very unlucky number"/quote

gabriel is seen at the beginning of the game but then dies due to reading Leon's bible, je appears later in the game seemingly reborn as before he was a business man and now he is an detective, he has terrible memory problems and gets rykers name wrong about twice i believe, he also only shaves half his face, wears his tie backwards, and wears two watches (by mistake)

BUT YEAH!!! that's a bit abt 8:11, I would recommend u go check it out if ur interested it's such a silly game!!!! :3

thoughts . . . let me preface this by saying that romance is typically not my favorite genre and never will be. i don't like cliches and i want to scream at corny scenes. but sometimes i am in the mood for some screaming and crying and throwing up.

kamisama kiss is definitely one of the better romance shows, and my proof is that i actually watched all of it without dropping! yes, i did cringe at many scenes. yes, nanami is not at all someone like me. yes, i hate and love tomoe at the same time. but i guess it's because the story and characters were well written that i had strong feelings about the plot and the individual personalities throughout the show.

this is very based and not a critique at the writing itself, but i don't enjoy it when the girl is pining for the guy and not the other way around. like. nanami please stand up!!!!! i almost threw up when she realized she liked tomoe and CONFESSED to him when he was all like 'you're not immature enough to fall for me right' (i would've kept my feelings within me TO THE GRAVE) but the thing is, she is the healthy one. i am the problem. and tomoe is also the problem. there are some issues to be resolved.

let me talk about tomoe. bc as much as he is pretty, he's also kind of a b/tch most of the time. i love him but also.. why does he say certain things that are SO mean??? at this point it's not even 'tsundere' or whatever? if anyone outright told me i was useless TO MY FACE without a single hesitation i would've never talked to them again. ik he has his own backstory about that human girl he liked that died but he should seriously stop being delusional that he doesn't like nanami bro.. it just feels like he's always leading her on. it's annoying. sometimes i just prefer that crow dude or mizuki.

anyways. i'm glad that nanami got some character development in the end and was actually doing something useful, i look forward to her showing that she's independent (b/c she definitely is!!! how is her mentality so strong when her parents literally abandoned her) and tomoe letting her be independent.

ooh what are you studying? im a med student, in my last year. im planning to do a masters of pharmacy and maybe psychology or education, i havent decided what ill double up on.

my timezone is in hell so eid was technically yesterday for me, we go to the prayer in the park then buy flowers for everyone, and visit my grandparents for breakfast and then all the aunts. one of my aunts lives across the road from a mcdonalds, so naturally the most important tradition we have is spending our eid money there. and then we watch a movie and uber maccas again when we get home. what do you do for eid?

daredevil is pretty good, i got into it mostly bc ive read a couple comics, and matt murdock is THEE most ridiculous character ever. i love him so much in a very, im holding him by the scruff of his neck and making him take a shower. blorbo emotions. its abt a blind lawyer who is a vigilante on the side, and is determined to singlehandedly take down an entire criminal empire all by himself. its really funny when u get into the other defenders bc like. jessica jones has super stength. luke cage is bulletproof. danny rand has whatever tf he has going on. and then matt is just there,,, his super power is catholic guilt and intense rage. mf has two sticks and ends up in garbage bins more often than he probably should. hes like a damn cockroach, he just doesnt seem to die.

i just fuckin love superheroes u dont understand i am holding myself back from going off into a tangent. esp street level heroes, they have a completely different vibe than like, bigshot heroes such as iron man or even a lot of the dc heroes.

if ur interested, theres a fic series i recommend to everyone based around team red (thats spiderman, daredevil, and deadpool) which is a. super long and will entertain you for ages bc its broken up into digestible parts and b. absolutely hilarious. its like, what if marvel was actually good. the iteration that author created of all the characters is chefs kiss, amazing.

this is so sweet omg. I love that you guys do prayer in the fast and do such a sweet gesture by giving flowers to everyone. it just sounds so comforting and cozy, how you and your family have all these traditions and spend so much time eating and hanging out together. for me, I unfortunately couldn't do much for Eid because my Wifi had just started back up and I had an assignment due that day that I hadn't been able to work on LMAO. but, usually, we try to get together with my aunt, one of our only relatives sharing the city with us. and my father wants to host something in our neighbourhood for Eid, where people (neighbours, relatives, family friends, etc.) will come by and we feed them and spend time with them.

omg that sounds so fucking cool! like, the entire concept of a lawyer who also simultaneously is taking down an entire criminal empire sounds do cool. and I love ridiculous characters, it's so easy to root for them omg. aksjkajs "catholic guilt and intense rage," LMAO. I really like when there's a group and all of them have an individual power and something they bring to the table.

you can totally go on a tangent! it's so cool that you're so into them and passionate about them! my sibling is the same about certain superheroes. I honestly don't know much about them, but I have friends who adore them. what do you like most about street level heroes? are they heroes that, like, are working in a specific spot as opposed to, like, saving the whole world?

you can totally send me the fic! even if I'm not a part of the fandom, I always appreciate a good, funny fic, hehe. I'll even send it to my friend who is really into Marvel!

toji was irritated when saw you fall asleep on the couch. he's already used to being hugged in his sleep, what the hell?

although toji will deny the fact he loves when you're being pesky and annoying and also bothersome by kissing his face.

nevertheless, the thing you've started to notice as you didn't give him good night or good morning kiss, the sorcerer killer will be grumpy.

no! of course, he isn't clingy. never. well, it's one percent of toji being clingy. okay, fine, it's two but not more! 'give me the goodnight kiss.' 'ask more politely, toji.'

he tsks, bringing you closer and kissing you with undisguised greed. after all, it's your fault - you didn't give toji his kiss.

hi hello i couldn't sleep last night so i was scrolling thru all ur asks and stuff and ur opinions and analyses are so interesting!!! and then afterwards i was thinking about what u were saying about mlm smut and i'd also been thinking about such things a little bit recently bc like.....at a certain point it becomes quite clear that the vast majority of smut-writing is just imitation. like there's the sex noise verb list and all and the whole general mechanics of the sex and those things just .... replicate over and over. and the whole thing w people writing mlm vs wlw smut regardless of their own sexual orientation..... like i feel like a big part of that is just a self-perpetuating thing. like if u have not had sex and u r getting all ur (pleasure-related) sex ed from fandom (even if u do watch porn, that doesn't rlly tell u how to describe stuff? idk) regardless of What fandom , the majority is going to be mlm smut. which is itself majority imitation of other mlm smut, imitating and imitating back to whoever knows what the first smut fanfic was etc. there's just way More to mimic than there is on the women side of things. which then becomes a self-perpetuating thing, bc the mimicry continues and generates more and more. and---if there are fundamental misunderstandings of anatomy involved---those self-perpetuate as well. and maybe even exaggerate. and yeah. does this all make sense? idk i was just thinking about it. like all the stereotypes and stuff continue bc writers are getting their inspo from other writers rather than their own brains. or something. idk!!!!! it's just all... divorced from reality? bc words. or something!! i hope u get what i'm trying to say. just thoughts i've been thinking. anyway i think ur thoughts are cool. and ur writing. ok bye have a good day!!

This video begins to talk about fetishization at the end, but also… not really. The words “gay fanfiction” is used as a catchall, when really gay fanfiction is largely mlm written by non-mlm.

Fandom is a largely women's space dominated by the female gaze in a media industry world that is dominated by men and the male gaze. I'm really glad women have this space to explore creativity and queerness, and I don't expect the female gaze to go away, but I am still ultimately bummed out I can’t read most fanfic or interact with most fandom spaces without having fetishization in my face.

So about 80% of fandom is women, and most of those women aren't straight, but 90% of those women prefer mlm ships. Why don’t they prefer wlw ships? Well definitely part of it is the fact that queerbaiting is centered around white straight men, and then there is also the fact that women tend not to be written as well charcter wise. But the fact still remains that you get jerjean getting priority over Layla and Alvarez who are in canon just as much and are a canon wlw couple who actually interact as well as Alvarez could likely be a woc because of her Hispanic last name. Korasami doesn’t get nearly as much hype as zuko and saka, despite the fact that they are 2 fully dimensional characters who canonly kiss and hold hands, something the creators fought for and ended up having to sacrifice another reboot for.

I do believe the fandom echo-chamber is largely responsible for… a lot of things, like you're saying. But what's interesting is that the complaints I've heard about visual porn from non mlm in the fandom space is that they can’t get off to it because its for the male gaze and misogynistic usually. But they also don't seem to notice how the mlm smut circles has the female gaze and is also… almost always mlm. If it was a pure anatomical not knowing thing, I get that, but I also think that leads to the question of “then why the male body for porn, and not your own? The one you know and are familiar with?”

I know some people want to get outside of their own body for porn and don’t want to think of their own anatomy at all, but overall I'm still uncomfortable. If an anglo said “well I watch porn of only Mexicans so I don't self insert” I'm gonna be like … hhhh in a similar way. I understand people “like what they like” but I wish they also noticed said patterns in the first place. I understand the t4t tumblr porn circle, and how it's different from cis people who only watch trans porn.

I actually wished that instead of fandom focusing on mlm ships where some asshole guy hits on bottom troupe charcter for top troupe character to save, was instead… a wlw character experiencing said shitty getting hit on and other wlw swooping in. what's interesting is fandom writes a lot about misogynistic experiences without often realizing it. Ive read fanfic where guys get called sluts for sleeping with people or called bitch for speaking their mind, these arent things men usually experience, but rather women. Fandom has a lot of internalized misogyny and also queerphobia imo. Women characters often get pushed to the sidelines and men become the canvas for female fans to project onto.

There is this natural inclination to mlm. When people are talking about “gay shipping” or “gay books” or “gay feels” or even just “gay” mlm is what’s largely in mind. I honestly am kinda saddened by this because if gay fanfiction was really solely about writing more to feel represented, then you would see a lot of bi and ace and lesbian rep, but this isn't the case. Queer women are seriously underrepresented, and I want to hear their stories and read them in fanfiction as well as published. 50% of lgbt literature is mlm, and of that its largely written by women. Becky Albertalli, Rainbow Rowell, Maggie Stiefvater, are the YA big names and are all women writing mlm. Red white and royal blue is written by Casey McQuiston and Captive prince (which is not YA) is written by C. S. Pacat, who is non-binary, but is also TME and not mlm. These are all the big names in mlm lit, behind them is some gay men, but honestly their stories aren't preferred, they're not the right “flavor” for the consumers usually, who are largely women. In general YA consumers and authors are women, but I wish that they… just wrote about women too. I think there is a certain… snowball effect to the overrepresentation of mlm representing the whole LGBT community that leads to fetishization, as well as misogyny playing a factor in: less women characters being written well to write fanfic on, when they are written well they're taken less seriously or the audience struggles to relate to them, they're less marketable then men.

Idk I never feel “seen” or “represented” by any of the books above, which don't address boyhood and manhood and queerness intersecting really, and AFTG doesn’t either. I relate to AFTG as a trauma victim who has experienced a lot of what many of the characters go through and have gone through in the EC as well as them just overall being very well written characters, but I don't relate to it as a mlm really. I've never seen like.. gay voice or being straight passing or femphobia or how boyhood can be affected from a young age by those around you sensing you're ‘other’ or if you didn't experience this you feel outside the mlm community. Let alone sub cultures like bear and leather and pup, at most you see the word “he's such a twink” in fandom which... i fr hate non mlm using that word because it's usually used to replace the f-slur essentially, used derogatorily or to call him “such a bottom” and stuff like that. It’s like a joke or an insult.

Long story short, idk mang this was a ramble and I think I'm coning down with something. I wanna see more queer women rep and women authors writing about being a queer woman too. I think it's a complex web of fetishization and a bit of forbidden love yaoi culture (or it used to be in the BOYXBOY days) as well as misogyny on an industry level, creator level, as well as reader/consumer and fandom level. I don’t think it’s inherently wrong to explore other peoples stories and what we read has to be segregated, “only mlm are allowed to read and write mlm, only wlw are allowed to read and write wlw,” but I also think author’s intent and audience and background is telling, as well as overall statistics. Like about an hour ago I was looking for cookbooks in spanish or in english, and I was looking for some mexican food cook books, but I had to look for them using words in spanish because otherwise what came up was a bunch of “fiesta party, easy as uno dos tres authentic cooking!” and I was like… hm. Since I could tell they were marketing to anglos. (also the author’s last names were like michelle smith, james cooper, and this could be for a variety of reasons, but I trust Hispanic names more tbh and deadass would look at the authors pictures and if they had other books in Spanish or what their specialties were.)

anyways. not sure how to end this. uhm if anyone has any book recs (my to read list is like 500 books tho no joke) preferably not YA white mlm written by a white lady, hopefully queer women written by queer woman, LMK, I need more wlw and queer women stories on my list. I have a decent amount but always looking for more. I kinda wanna link my goodreads or my storygraph but I also don't want to get doxxed and it has my legal name on it so.

I beat Waterloo World babeyyyyyyy!!! Here's some more psych of nauts thoughts

This is mostly a really fun level, but that one platforming section where you have to unjam the castle gates? Fuck that nonsense. It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for those little cannon guys with obnoxiously accurate aim. I managed to get past the first one once I realized I could use Levitation and Invisibility at the same time, but the second one would just shoot me off the tower from like 100 feet away every time bc Invisibility takes two seasons of a western animated cartoon to recharge. I was only able to kill the stupid little bastard once he accidentally fell off his stupid little bastard tower.

This has nothing to do with the level itself, but Crispin's "kindly back away from my elevator and die" is up there with "Nils kisses girls on the mouth and likes it" and "What a magical lady :)" for my favorite lines in the game. The delivery is hysterical, it's so lowkey and deadpan.

This also has nothing to do with the level, but I recently realized you can make Raz talk with the animals in the hubworlds if you press Y near them. And I fucking love the lines you get if you have him talk to the crows around the asylum, if only because the randomly generated lines chained together in a way that accidentally implied that Raz eats bugs. Two of the lines he can say are along the lines of "yeah, yeah, i get it, bugs are delicious" and "tell me something i don't know", which are definitely supposed to be separate voice lines. But I got them back-to-back, so it sounded like Raz was agreeing with the crows that bugs are, indeed, delicious. Idk I thought it was funny.

Since the crying of the emotional baggage is recorded by the respective VAs of the character whose mind you're in, the baggage usually makes me kinda sad (especially in Brain Tumbler Experiment, hearing the bags crying in Raz's voice is fucking heartbreaking). But it's oddly funny in this level, bc between sobs they'll go "ooough, i don't like that :(". I feel bad for finding it funny, but I can't help it bc like, fuck dude, I feel that.

Next is Black Velvetopia, which I am both very excited about and very scared about. Excited, bc temporary artstyle shift go brrrrrr. Scared, bc I don't remember how you're supposed to get the Confusion Grenades (and I'm 99% certain you don't get them within the level itself like how you get PSI Shield and Clairvoyance), and bc the boss looks kinda jank based on the playthroughs I've watched.

Update: I'm a few eps into s4 already and I'm dreading it ending Bc I've inhaled these far too quickly and I want more lol. I still love Delle seyah. You're totally right about the show wanting us to keep liking her. She's been hilarious and had heart and growth, & I think that makes the difference in not wanting her to suffer and pay for what she did. Plus, Johnny shooting her felt like a bit of revenge for pawter. I also think the fact that everyone is morally gray to a point helps. (1/?)

Every single person on the show has done some heinous shit. Some on purpose, some on accident, but the entire world is kinda built on heinous shit happening & them either perpetrating it or kinda ignoring it (like the slavery stuff/ letting guards die for them etc). Hell, pawter made a bunch of ppl die to win her battle. Dutch & co may be the good guys, but their hands are far from clean, which I think makes it easier to accept stuff that Delle seyah and aneela have done. (2/3)

I’ll have to see where the rest of the show leads, but I think this may be the one show I have where I would ordinarily hate some characters & possibly the overall msg but it works for kj, maybe Bc I love Dutch / aneela / Delle seyah lol. I tend to go more for righteous vengeance & this show isn’t that. Too much gray to be that. I think Root was the closest I’ve gotten to rooting for “villain” & we never see much of her evil past. Loved Regina too, but didn’t finish ouat Bc I got mad at it (3/3)

Anon, you watched it too quickly! s4 already?? Ah, man, I wish I could watch s3 and s4 again for the first time. s3 especially, WHAT a season. Queens rise! The kiss! Torture and ice cream! Tether! The Scarback origins! Season three had something so dynamic and epic and well-balanced, it was genuinely a really well done season of TV. Remember that moment at the end of 3x09? Not to spoil so uh, where Pree’s Wayfaring Stranger cuts back in right as it’s happening? Yeah, that moment. >_> The direction and music and everything went so hand in hand, all season long.

Although, I did really love season 4 too. There was one ep in the middle of it I really disagreed with (and then another I kinda disagreed with right after) but they seemed to ease back on the characterization they were pushing. It’s amazing to me how even with as much of a setup season it was, trying to fight back to a status quo and not even make progress in the fight against the Lady, but just to a point where they could build from, it was still so good. Weird dynamics, evolving family, things that worked even when they shouldn’t have. Really, even though s4+5 were announced together and written at the same time, it’s s3+4 that fit so well together.

All right, okay, so it might have been a bit of an exaggeration when I said I don’t really root for bad guys, because once I thought about it, I like so many. Root, HG Wells in Warehouse 13, Eva in NCIS: NOLA. I actually have a pretty extensive list of villains in f/f ships, lol. I think what I meant by exception was that when it came to Delle Seyah vs Pawter, because our baddies usually do not directly KILL main characters, I was okay with instantly forgiving Delle Seyah? I stopped watching OUAT a few seasons in and I loved Regina and SQ, from the start, before her background was even revealed, but when it came to Regina vs Snow? I sided with Snow. I was pissed at Villanelle, the ultimate bad girl, for Bill. Until Eve basically gave permission to continue to like her being still as infatuated as ever.

And I think that’s how it usually works, I’ll go with the main characters. And here’s where my exception comes in because for the whole of season 3 things only got worse between the good guys and Delle Seyah + Aneela and I was somehow rooting for them all? Like, maybe they’ll make up when it comes down to it? (And they did!)

As you said, she did have things happening to her, Johnny shooting her, then she had Gander the way Villanelle post-Bill ep had Nadia’s boyfriend, antagonists so annoying you went back to rooting for a murderer. And she herself changes a bit, she helps Johnny, she helps Bea, she cares and suffers. Which is how Root and Regina and HG really won us over, right. We care about people by seeing them care for others and be cared for. Aneela was barely in season 4 but the way she was adored by her family and Delle Seyah, that did so much to endear her to us.

You’re right, everyone’s done something bad, but there’s a difference between–or maybe a scale of–redemption, between people like Dutch and D’av who feel guilty and terrible about what they did and then people like Delle Seyah, or NCIS: NOLA’s Eva, or…Star Trek: Discovery’s Terran!Georgiou. In Discovery, we like Michael and Ash because we see their struggles and progress, while Georgiou is like an asshole cat who we like for being an asshole cat. There are just different expectations and allowances for different characters? Even a little growth and empathy from those characters is such a huge win.

It’s because of their environment too, like, Georgiou from her hellish Terran universe, Delle Seyah growing up among the Qresh. Certain things are just accepted and expected, as you said, cruel things. Killjoys is definitely a gray kind of world as opposed to, say, Supergirl or OUAT, where morality is set up to define character worth and people are allowed to stray so much less.

Killing Eve goes all the way in the other direction. There’s a distance the narrative sets between us and the victims. A fair number of innocent people die in the first eps, but it’s not until she kills Bill that we’re mad, and even then, because of the way the main character handles it, we get over it. And then sometimes narrative distance is shrunk so we might not even like allies. Jeri Hogarth, on a gray show, sets my teeth on edge. I don’t like her, despite her being a lesbian and my massive childhood crush on CAM. The way she’s bad, the way the show doesn’t really ever soften her through Jessica or other characters, I can never like her.

Heh, this got a lot longer than I expected, but your asks provoked some really interesting dissection of what I like and don’t and why. After your previous ask I was afraid you might have given up on the show, I’m so glad you didn’t. Let me know how the rest of the viewing goes, if you want!

I'd be 93, on my dying bed and still wonder what happened after the beach! Did Reiner ever return? Did they go beyond the sea? Who inherited Eren's titan? So many questions! 🤯 Ha that's a cute emoji! First time using it! 😂

I didn't really mind adding Marley to the story! Do I care about them? Not so much but I think they helped us see how Reiner grew up and get a better idea of his character and why he did certain things! Also, it was nice seeing Marley and Paradis working together to stop Eren! And if he had become a true villain Breaking Bad style, it would look even better! And in order to have peace in the end we needed a few key characters from Marley to interact and bond with Paradis people to make that happen and we couldn't have just Reiner!

You're so right about the lore, there are so many inconsistencies in the whole story! And I get your frustration about Hange, they definitely deserved better, at least a better death like other key characters had before them! And don't get me started on the Ackerman stuff... 😫

Yes, the beach scene is in season 3 (I just watched it yesterday 🤭)! The new art style... There are things I like and things I don't! But I looove Eren with long hair so I'm not gonna complain, he was hot! I did notice some inconsistencies between the first and second part of season 4 tho! It's the same studio but Eren suddenly looked different in part 2 and weirdly younger than he was in first part! 🤔 I also love how they did Armin, definitely an improvement!

I 100% agree with your last paragraph, the ending was disappointing but there were some good moments there! Btw the guy's name is Niccolo! Was the last arc the reason you fell in love with Reiner or did you always like him?

Oh, yeah. 100%. I think it's good that it leaves questions - that Marley and Reiner/Bertholdt/Ymir's story is largely left untold. Sometimes I think it's more engaging? (I say like everything I write isn’t left on a hideous unknown. Haha!) I'd also change a few details, if I were to end it there, though: Kill off Annie, Possibly have Historia be taken w/Reiner, Bertholdt and Ymir, have Levi kill Zeke earlier, input a stronger romance line with Eren and Mikasa and probably explore the Ackerman side of things a lot more (My piece Bloodline is actually a little insight into some of the plot line I've been toying with related to this). Just to keep the plot more centred? If that makes sense.

Yeah, idk - I think it's more just a personal thing, for me. I feel like we could have learned a lot about Reiner with just his little squad too? Like the moment with Marco on the roof top, or when he and Bertholdt tell Eren about them being titans. More moments like that. I just needed to see more, I think? More of the soft side, that wasn't the weird 'my wife' stuff w/Historia that's just... Dropped? (I could be wrong there, bc my comprehension for some things is dreadful, but I feel like we didn't get any conclusion.) because it's seeing him with the kids of Marley that contextualises him, I think, but, I do agree that to make the end somewhat satisfying we did need to see Marley and Paradis come together!!!

I am so mad about Hange and the Ackerman stuff. So mad. 😡😡😡

Y'know what. Yeah. You right. Long hair Eren is *chef's kiss*, but I just - I don't vibe. It's super weird if he varies between the same studio too.

Niccolo! That's him! Thank you! 🥰 There was definitely some brilliant moments, but on a whole it falls down for me. As for Reiner - I got really interested when we got more of a peak into the mental break he was suffering. I was ready to slide head first into the whole Reiner/Bertholdt simp pot, but them Armin went absolutely insane convincing Bertholdt that they where torturing Annie when they where trying to run off with Eren and Ymir and I hopped, skipped and jumped into being an Armin simp instead. I really do adore that little creep with every inch of my body.

There are some relationships that are obviously relationships, you know, like being warm with each other all the time non caring if there was someone watching or anything, obviously being in love even when you try to hide.. not walking ten meters away and barely ever talking to each other... & When your gf/bf is really amazing, you'd let the whole world know, no matter how much hate and rejection you'll receive, cause the little love and support will be enough, bc basically you wouldn't give a damn about people you're living the time of your life with that certain person. But when you keep on hiding this means only one thing to me, you care about people more than your beloved one, I don't think this works for a relationship.. besides, when you go high af and exchanging kisses with a guy in the club, I don't think this works for a relationship either. Sharing clothes doesn't mean you both are deeply madly in love, cause I give my clothes to charities, does this mean I am girlfriend with everyone there? I guess this whole fandom is overreacting for the hamille thing, they could be friends, close friends as well. Now tell me, how did you know they're like dating? Cause you saw them dance together once? I mean like there was a full ocean between them so?? Besides, pretty obviously Jimmy didn't play with the heart rate, cause so I know you can't, his heart rate rose when he saw the Chelsea boots bc he was laughing.. if he was hiding Camille, he would be kind of scared or cought, his heart beat would rise, this is a simple medical fact. Or because the media said so? Okay, hate me for saying that but even Haylor & Hendall were more romantic & more obvious so.... It's just kind of weird y'all are giving her more attention than she deserves, & who knows, this can probably be the reason why she's been with Harry the whole time, attention.. besides, WAKE UP it's 2018 & this trash is fucking old and slept on. But, with what I know about her, no offense but her character is so disgusting, seriously what she had done before got me thanking God I ain't nothing like her. No offense but Harry desrves a lot better than her. I'm afraid it'll end up like her ex, who died, or even worse, cause she, possibly will hurt him a lot with her creepy behaviors. Anyways, don't hate, I just gave my opinion & if you agree thanks if you don't, stop yourself from hating on me, I also have the freedom of expression.
