Things That People With Kiddos Should Know As Someone With Kiddos

This is by no means an extensive list of things parents/guardians/caretakers should know and take into account when raising and taking care of kids, nor is this telling you how to run a household or parent, however, from my experience, these things can make your life SO MUCH EASIER and make the relationship with your kiddos and you much smoother. I'm mostly going to be focusing on more adolescent-specific topics, but a lot of this advice can be applied to kids of all ages. Some of these things that I mention might work perfectly for you and your kiddos, and some of them might not. Some of them you might have to practice working on or modify them to fit your situation. Not everything on here is golden for everyone, and not everything on here is trash either. What works for one situation might not work for another.

With that being said, let's get to it.

Take your kids clothes shopping in person as much as possible. Make them try everything that they pick on. Kid's measurements are weird and are going to be changing drastically throughout their lives. Find the clothes they like and fit into in person and buy them online for cheaper (or in person. Whatever floats your boat)

Do not waste money on surprises unless you know FOR A FACT that they're going to like it! What does for a fact mean? Well, they've either explicitly stated that they want the item, or dropped some obvious as hell hints! Do not go guessing and buying based on what you think they'll like, or what you like. That's setting you, and your kid up for failure.

Be interested in things they're interested in. Your kid likes Taylor Swift? Cool! Your reaction should be "awesome, you wanna listen to the Era's Tour setlist in the car?" or, "what's your favorite album, let's listen to it together!"

Similarly, if your kiddo creates (art, music, poetry, stories, crafts, woodwork, videos, coding, etc,.) BE INTERESTED IN THAT. Consume their work! Show interest in it! Ask to read their writing, ask to see their art, ask to listen to their compositions. They might not say yes, but make it clear that you want to, and that's something that excites you. This will bring your kiddo joy.

DO NOT. AND I REPEAT. DO NOT. BELITTLE THEIR INTERESTS. Remember: You were once a kid with wacky interests, too. Kids are always searching for validation, whether they exhibit it or not. And even if they aren't? It's just a dick move to make fun of them for something they like.

buy pencils, pens, and notebooks in bulk. You'll need them.

Oh, and sticky notes.

If your kiddo comes to you for help of any kind, academic or otherwise, you damn well help them. "I need help studying for my math test tomorrow," ok, whaddya struggling with? How can I help? Do you just need a body double here, or should I do some problems with you?

give them notes. In their lunches, on their desks, in presents, on the fridge- hell, stick it on their doors! It doesn't have to be anything long- just a simple "morning!" or, "have a great day!" works, too.

Tell them you love them and that you're proud of them. Regularly. I know there are some people who think that makes their kids soft but I assure you, you're doing the exact opposite. By building your kids up, and regularly telling them that you love them and are proud of them, they know that they are valued and worthy and loved. This will set them up for success later in life and make them emotionally intelligent and flexible. Also, kids don't hear it enough these days.

They're going to see some scary shit. You can't avoid it. This past year I had to report three attempted suicides and many more cases of self-harm that came from other peers and people I was very close to. I initially was not processing the fact that someone so close to me was hurting themselves or trying to kill themselves, and the reporting process (sometimes even involving police) was extremely traumatizing. When I finally did cry, it came days later, and even today someone might say the name of one of these people and I will immediately shut down and change my whole demeanor. And I know our kiddos are experiencing these things, so please, be there for your kids and always tell them that telling adults when someone they know is hurting themselves or trying to end their life is important and could save their friends and loved ones.

Be prepared for your kids to have some kind of mental illness or learning disability. Do not try and gaslight them by saying that it's "all in their heads" (no shit?) or that they're "making things up." take everything seriously. "Mom, I think I have adhd," alright, let's see a doctor and do some research. "Tia, I'm so tired all the time and I just want to disappear," darling, that's not healthy, that's a sign of depression- you're important and loved, how about we set up a session with a therapist so you can talk to someone about these feelings who can help you better than I can?

Always be prepared to help your kiddos and reach out to licensed professionals who can help them.

carry snacks with you everywhere. And not that healthy shit, either. Within your kid's eating restrictions, get something like a chocolate chip granola bar or a Reese's cup and stick it in your going-out bag. It will save your life when hungry time comes around.

Don't be surprised if your kids are queer in some shape or form. Support them, love them unconditionally, make sexuality puns as needed ("if you're not dating anyone rn, does that mean you're on stand-bi?") and do your own research in regard to sexuality and gender.

help them get ready for school dances and stuff. Makeup, hair, clothes, pickup lines, the whole ordeal. I promise you they're going to love you for it.

Make the puberty/sex talk a casual yet thorough thing. You want to cover all the information, but you don't want to make it so uptight that they never want to talk about it again or ask any questions. Pull up diagrams, do the whole shebang, but make it clear that they don't have to memorize everything in that very moment. Questions are ok, even after the fact.

Take them to the library.

For all your menstruating kiddos out there, stock up on pads and tampons and anything else they use every month/every other month depending on how much they use. Don't make it seem like a hassle, don't make difficult, just do it without question. If they tell you they like a certain brand or type/size/etc, adhere to that and respect it. Menstruating is uncomfortable as is, don't make it worse by not listening to your kid's needs.

Give them this thing I like to call Cuddle Days (or sensory overload days, or Overstimulated, Get Me Outta Here days). These are the kinda days that can show up on weekends after a long week and basically it's a ton of movies, pillow forts, blankets, and comfort food. And lots of cuddles, of course.

Don't guilt trip them for existing having needs. Your kids are going to need a lot and do a lot and they are grateful, but it just feels weird to express that feeling of gratitude as a teenager.

And, most importantly, let them be kids. Let them have pillow fights, and roll on the grass. Hang fairy lights up and tell them stories. Giggle about their crushes with them, and paint your nails together. Play Mario Cart and eat takeout together. Kids are so complex and amazing and it would be a shame if we took away the part about being kids in the process of them growing up, because one day they're not gonna be our babies anymore.

Rant/ Spoilers for Pokémon SV DLC: The Teal Mask!! I’ll also add a Sona drawing of my Legends AU and the Paldea one below! I know the style is different. This is my inconsistent style arc LMAO 🫶

Just quick description of why I have 2 Sona Designs! So the first one is the one everyone has seen on this account which is the one that Simps for Adaman and gets taken to Hisui. The other, is the Paldea/Present Storyline (and she simps for Perrin). They both have almost the same backstory (with some minor timeline changes) but one progresses like normal in life while the other gets stuck in the past in the end.

I drew my Typhlosion that way because I thought it would be a cool idea for it to evolve in Sinnoh/ The Distortion World as my Sona somewhat takes over the role of Dawn/Lucas for the Platnuim storyline! And since Hisui and Sinnoh are the same and the Dex entry for Hisuian Typhlosion is:

“…I believe its form has been influenced by the energy of the sacred mountain towering at Hisui’s center.”

And would you look at that? The sacred mountain is Mt. coronet

So since Sinnoh is the Hisui region, it could be cool that the distortion world caused the a mutation of its dormant Hisuian genes to influence its Johtoian/modern day evolution.

- In the distortion world, time doesn’t flow properly and or it doesn’t follow the laws of physics so that could also be a cool loop hole. I get that it wouldn’t make sense for a Pokémon to evolve if time doesn’t flow, but in game, an eevee could still evolve into an umbreon or espeon so I’ll take it LMAO

So it can learn Inferno Parade and some Ghost type moves and it’s Tera Type is Ghost, hehe!

Anyways I’m rambling so move on!

Okay, so all of you know that I’m a fan of Legends Arceus so you can tell that I’m just going to mainly gush over the Perrin Storyline. I think that’s pretty much a given but just know its just me giving a play by play and my reactions so this might not be interesting!

Spoilers, officially starts here!

Okay so seeing Perrin for the first time in game, I literally screamed. Like hello?? You can’t blame me like seriously. She’s kinda my way for coping with the lack of Adaman content and Legends Content but she’s also so prettyyyyyy. So when Kieran literally started saying like, “I’ll meet you there” to progress the main story, I ran up to her trying to progress her story first before anything.

God, they did her justice when they translated her from the official art to the game! I wish to see Adaman in SV rendering style gahhh!!

- I do wish they explained why Hisuian Pokémon are around and not extinct, but that might just be like, “some were bred out of existence”, “they’re rare”, or something of the sort. Either way, due to them bringing back Hisuian Pokémon, im sure they’re might be an explanation in the future!

- I do also wish she explained why she had a Hisuian Growlith in the first place, or our player character mentions “what Pokémon is that?” Or something cause I would assume that Hisuian Variants are rare. Then again, it could be a thing that they talked about them in class. After all, Professor Laventon was on screen in Raifort’s Board

- But Perrin having Growlith just could be a hint that Adaman and Irida got together because she does give you her second Growlith at the end of her story. You know, cause one of the Pearl Clan’s nobles being Arcanine and the whole Colbat Coastline story in Arceus.

- It could mean Adaman and Irida got together, Their clans Merged and or disbanded, or it could literally just be a reference that pokemon did and I’m reading too much into it LMAO

Anyways! As someone who doesn’t do the Dex in Pokémon games, you can imagine me when I heard Perrin mention the requirement of 150 Pokémon for the Kitakami dex. I got like weird Legends Deja-vu and started “sobbing” to my friend, @deflatedrock, over the fact that I have to do the Dex for DLC.

- Also got Deja-vu over the fact that she called me “Kiddo” (yes, I was a Sans simp in my early days…)

- As someone who is not a minor I was like “Perrin please!! I’m not a kid!!” But yes, i understand that the protags in these games are all kids HAHA

- I just imagine my Sona (on the right) just trying to say how she’s not a kid with slight annoyance and embarrassment.

But Did I do it? Yes I got 150 Pokémon under 24 hours, what of it? And that was also including the story and the fact that was under leveled at the beginning of it LMAO

Imagine me screaming when the cutscene of her starts when she challenges me. I love the smile she has and it makes me wish that the switch was a more powerful console! Also Leafeon being her Second pokemon absolutely made me smile and it was super adorable the fact that she was taking pictures of us whenever she battled! Like :((((((((

The story starts after I beat her and she accepts me on taking on the job of helping snap a picture of a hard to find pokemon. I absolutely, am giggling over the “Partner” title I received from her. I was over the moon, on cloud nine LMAO !!

If you saw the direct/played the game, she wants to take a picture of Ursaluna with a unique marking on it’s head and the vague Hisui mentions throughout the story absolutely made me lose my shit. Small bits and pieces that Ursalunas used to be common back in the day or how mentions about her homeland.

Small mentions of Hisui/ Legends make me think of a high possibility of another Legends game could be in the future.

- I am hoping Johto but I do say it would be reasonable for it to be Unova or Kalos. But main reason I want it to be Johto is due to me never playing BW/BW2 or XY. I do plan to play them but the Grind for Unova is rough since DS game and XY i havent gotten the motivation to buy it and play it on 3DS (i know excuses HAHA)

- But I do hope that every region eventually gets its own Legends remake but with actual effort put into it like how Legends did. Legends with it’s music that is a call back to the Diamond, Pearl and Platinum games and a unique take on a pokemon game with Dex being the main priority rather than battles made it that much enjoyable. I do wish they didn’t put out BDSP and focused more time into Legends rather than releasing both.

- obviously not every region needs it, but I would be cool to live through the war or something that was mentioned in Kalos, or live through the events during the Sprout Tower. (I don’t know anything about Unova but *insert something a Unova fan wants from a Unova Legends game*)

But Im rambling so let us continue!

We make our way to the Timeless Woods, the location where the Ursaluna is often spotted and at the time, I didn’t really think much of it. I just thought, “Oh cute! ‘Timeless’ because this story is Hisui coded with Perrin and Ursaluna!”

But love the cute interaction moments:

- Whenever Perrin spoke to the polliwhirl and just calling it a “cutie pie” and speaking to it like anyone would do with their pet. Should’ve been me.

- Her getting embarrassed that the player might’ve tuned in with her pet names to the wild pokemon

- The fact that we saved her from a wild pokemon that came out of nowhere

- The cute camp setup! I will eventually draw her and my Sona sleeping in the tent together as we wait for the fog

- or just any time she would take a photo of us and calling us heroic and such

But before anything Ursaluna related, we must survey the area to see the different species living here. So I go up to her and click “A” to progress the story and we wait for the fog to come in at night…

I didn’t expect much going into it. Literally just thought, Pokémon snap but in SV. Once the survey starts and we officially load in im standing in the woods. The first note plays in the background and I am stunned. My eyes start to well up as the music continues. Heartwoods plays in the background and I had to put down my switch for a moment. I let out an excited squeal as I couldn’t help but just say “oh my god, stop…” with a chuckle. I sat there on my bed just listening to it and letting everything sink in. I couldn’t help but imagine the idea of my Sona possibly getting Deja-vu or her tearing up alongside me.

I stayed in the woods longer than I should have. Taking my sweet time snapping photos of the Pokémon in the area, even though it won’t even matter how good they were as long as the Pokémon were recognizable. I realized I never even screen-recorded anything during this part of the game. I was too immersed to even remember to do that. Perhaps it’s a biased towards Legends but this by far was one of my favorite DLC storylines in a Pokémon game at this point.

But of course, I wanted to progress in the story so I took the photo of the Duskull, completing the side quest. I was absolutely smiling and tearing up over this and my brain making the connection “Eterna” and “Timeless”, the names of the two areas that had this song placed in. Man, this just made me so happy.

Progressing, we learn about Perrin’s creativity problems with her being a burnt out prodigy and all. Focusing on how others want it and how she could get the most points from judges rather than what she thinks looks good.

Telling her that we take photos how we want the Pokémon to turn out makes her think and gets back into her usual mood.

- Her arc in this is great. It’s relatable and I think expands her character her more. I was afraid that she would be just a pretty face that Pokemon won’t do much with other than take photos and be a Legends homage.

We eventually hear stomping off in the Distance that interrupts the moment. We come to the conclusion that it is the Blood-moon Beast and head towards said direction and can I say, THIS GUY LOOKS FUCKING SICK!!

First off I love the fact that it looks like a very old Ursaluna as that as lived through the years and seen the world change along side it. The fact that is stands on 2 rather than 4 legs, the Fur being more Ursaring colored and whatever the gray stuff is growing around it? Perhaps more gray fur to represent it’a age?

I just absolutely love how it looks, I was expecting a regular Ursaluna with a red moon instead of the yellow one it has but this absolutely blew me away. It reminds me of the Crystal Onix that was in the anime! A cool super rare variant that looks like that due to the conditions it was in.

- Don’t count this Ursaluna as a regional variant until it’s confirmed that it is.

I also noticed how it didn’t seem to attack either of us until Perrin accidentally snapped a photo with auto flash. It more or less attacked us by us startling it than Anything.

AND DONT GET ME STARTED WITH THE MUSIC!!!

Like gahhhh!! Like there’s no such thing as a Alpha Pokémon in Present day Pokémon but using the alpha theme to express the tension and idea that this is no ordinary Ursaluna is so good !!

And when you get into the battle with it- LIKE OMG!! The Wild Pokémon battle music used for this just made me scream. And it’s blood moon move One-shorting some of my Pokémon, I was terrified of losing LMAO

- I loved the occasional times that Perrin motives you and cheers you on, I just enjoy the small cutscenes that’s main/ significant characters do that!

But we catch the Ursaluna and the main story part ends. I do enjoy the cute mentions of her taking photos of us while we battled and how they’re her favorite. She wants me fr fr.

She talks about needing to develop them right away and tells us a family saying and We eventually decided to meet back at Mossui.

Again, the call backs/references to Adaman and her being a descendant of the Diamond Clan is just so good! As you can assume, I was just screaming like “Adaman Reference!” And bouncing off the walls. I was at an all time high at this point.

As an Adaman and Legends fan, I was being fed!! With these small details. She also mentioned her dad and how he used the Shaymin Tent but im not sure if we’ll ever see her father. And if he were to be shown, don’t be surprised if I start simping for him too.

- Also can we mention the pose she does whenever she is idol sometimes? The fact that she puts her hand in her pockets like Adaman? Like I can’t be reading too much into it, that’s clearly a Adaman reference, right? IDK IM HAPPY ABOUT THIS

But the rest of the dialogue is her completing her arc of taking photos of how she wants it and now focusing on perfection and the photography standards. I also think it’s cute that she didn’t know the player’s name until now and does a endearing reintroduction with pride. She then gives you a Hisuian Growlith that enjoys battling and talks about how Growliths “like these” tend to come in pairs but even when separated they’re paths will surely cross again. She just confessed to me guys, don’t worry you’re all invited to our wedding, not delusional I swear.

-but guess the Growliths are still around but not often seen based on how she’s referring to them idk

But she leaves and that’s pretty much the end of the story! I do hope we see her again in either a different title or in the next wave but I don’t see her being in the next one. If I remember correctly, it will take place in Blueberry Academy and it’s in the middle of the ocean or something LMAO

Okay but overall: 10/10 experience for the Perrin Storyline!

I am super easy to please but I think it’s such a good story! Did wish it was longer or we had the opportunity to have her stay and have her have like a few more small quests/surveys like that are photo related after the main story? Kinda like how Mai was where you just had to catch Pokémon during the Massive Mass Outbreaks DLC.

My brain is starting to power down but I do wish for Pokémon to do more stories where you get cool unique Pokémon variants that are not shown. Again I hope it’s not a region variant for Ursaluna cause that would make it a whole lot cooler. He’s definitely going on my team.

Im very satisfied with the DLC and i hope we can get more Legends Content in the future. RIP Ingo, Unova Legends could be a good way to some how bring him back is all I’m saying *wink wink nudge nudge*

Starting with the imps, due to the order in which characters of different species are presented on the wiki

Ah, Pringles. Of course. What a guy. He is very shaped. (Especially the hair and collar. I happen to be a sucker for male characters with that kinda "cat fluff" hairstyle.) Love the weird little cuff on his tail, it's so unnecessary but it fits. Dapper boy. Gotta love him

(As far as I can recall he gets bitches in Ozzie's, which, like, good for him!)

There's this kiddo from Loo Loo Land. I like her shapes as well, very exaggerated. As depicted here she kind of reminds me of some concept art girlies from the Art of Encanto book.

Ahh... this guy. Or gal, actually. Turns out this is Skye Henwood's impsona, as well as my favorite character in Western Energy. Me and my friend were deadass ready to adopt her on sight. So tiny!! So shaped!! Look at that ridiculously huge bowtie. The littol suit. I want a pocket-sized imp now. Would carry them everywhere in my purse. Speaking of...

That's exactly what she did! Another crewsona (Sam Miller), and this design is incredibly slay. The feathers. The tail. Big, flowy, swooping shapes. (Not a big fan of the hands, though.) Very majestic creature overall.

Moving on to a few background Wrathians from Harvest Moon. She's a cutie. Not much else to be said. I like her outfit with the little boots and gloves as well as her pigtails.

I think these two could be related.

She looks so silly, I love her. Her hat and horns are disproportionately huge and it's precious.

Her name is Square, and she has major resting bitch face energy. I appreciate her instantly. (Long sleeved shirt + short shorts is a good combo.)

This guy from the Ozzie's elevator scene (Aspen) looks like he'd have quite the story to tell over a couple drinks of hard liquor. Slutty, but in a tired way. (A certain saxophonist cat from another piece of online media also fits that description.)

HER!! I love her so much. Everything about her honestly. The colors!! The legs!! The underbite!! She has no official name, but I call her Pomegranate. Or Pom for short. Got some of my own lore for her and everything.

Haven't watched Queen Bee, so I didn't get to see Dennis in action, but from this still alone I conclude that he's pretty cute. (However dude could use to pull up his pants.) Didn't really deserve to get yelled at, anyhow. Justice for Dennis!

Though I do have an old Dennis character, and he's a dick, so maybe Blitzo was on to something.

I like the girlie on the right too. Women with :3 smiles automatically win me over. The ripped pants and loose tank top go well together, and the splotch of magenta on the waist isn't obnoxious.

Mamma Mia, an imp with not purely and overwhelmingly red skin? What a spectacle. She looks way more like a black character than Velvette. And due to her subdued skin tone, the pink looks nice on her. (Which can't be said for Millie in one of the pieces of summer merch. Who thought pink on her was a good idea?!) Cool hair texture as well, feels very poofy.

Some bite-sized imp clowns from The Circus; their names are Eenie, Meenie, and Miney. How charming! Though, as I recall, doesn't that old children's rhyme go on to have four-

...Oh.

I think this might be Barbie Wire. We were never told explicitly, and she isn't even mentioned in the episode itself, but she looks closest to that design.

(Though I just noticed her horn stripes are too thick. Nevermind, then. Seems like she didn't even get that brief cameo in Blitzo's nearly episode-long childhood flashback despite being his twin sister, which should suggest that they were pretty close.)

I like this chick, though.

Never in the rest of my never-ending life would I have wanted something, no someone so bad. It bothers me to want someone, to hold to want, to desire but my cold blood rages on and a never-ending storm. The dark residue of the burning flames and grey smoke surrounding me and my sister remain, staining my heart from red to black. How can I love and want something I hated the most, the thing I use to be… a human, but I decided that day when master Aro turned me into a vampire, I would cause the most destruction. Leaving behind my humanity and rationality as they did to me and my sister. I left that village red and let the flames rage on to hear the terror I caused but the time Jane and I were done we left it black, charred to nothing every human down to the crawling creatures perished and that’s when we joined the Volturi. They gave us endless possibilities to have the things that we could never obtain in our old life. But if I’m being honest, I remember so much but every time I remember something good I remember the smoke, the fire and the flames. But can Y/n change me… do I even want to change at all and have the world be cruel once more... to take something precious for me. I don’t think I can…..

Present Day….

Its been a while since I’ve been back in forks with the events of what happened to my sister Bella Swan, she’s not my biological sister but she feels like it anyway. Charlie is a great dad and I couldn’t have asked for a better caregiver for someone to take care of me. I missed her and dad. I finally graduated high school and Bella and the Cullen’s came back for a visit or at least that’s what I thought anyway. I knew all their secrets them being vampires and wolves the whole shebang which didn’t bother me because when she told me, I laughed in her face and called my sister a buffoon for thinking I was going to fall for some lame prank, everyone in the Cullen house laughed that day, even Edward laughed too. I still didn’t believe her until she told Emmette to show me and scared me half to death!. I tell you this man picked me up and threw me into the air, I was free-falling I thought I was gonna die but he caught me in mid-air and put me down. As soon as I got my bearing and was able to get on my feet, I ran to the nearest bush and threw up. But after that day I never really spoke about it again we just went about our normal lives, I would see my sister, chill withness and life went on but my birthday was today and that’s when shit hit the fan. The Cullen’s also seemed to get in trouble with Volturi it never failed. And to be frank with you I’m surprised that the Cullen’s are still thriving, alive sort of and well because if this Big and Bad Volturi were cruel from what I heard. “Don’t give second chances, to me that’s a bunch of crap.”

As I was reminiscing I was brought out of my wandering train of thought by my Dad Charles, he hates I made that his pet name.

“Hey kiddo happy birthday, I bought you a present I hope you like it.”

Y/n opened her present

“Dad you got me and art supplies, these are all so expensive, you should have, seriously. But it thank you.”

“Well I know how you love your artwork and the things you create are quite beautiful so, your works should be shown to the world and every artist needs good supplies, so yeah. AS the night went on musicand laqughter the night went on pretty smoothly, well until Alice almost dropp[ed my cake,that look in her eye a vision which was never good sometimes. I hoped it was good but her expression was sad mixed with worry. Carlisle spoke:

“Alice whats wrong-”

Before carlisle finished speaking she cut him off.

“ The Volturi... their coming…”

Bella:

“WHAT!, WHY!?”

“ They’re coming for Y/N, to kill her… because she isn’t turned”

Edward:

“We have half to get her out of here.”

Rosalie :

It’s too late for that, there gonna find her anyway.”

Carlisle:

“Roses is right, for now we must prepare for the worst and the best-case scenario.”

Y/n :

Y/n respond the fear and terror in her voice.

Carlisle:

“It’s Death and the best is becoming a.”

“ Bloodsucker.”

Rose said with pain and anger invoice.

“Well, there’s nothing we can do now let’s get ready, Alice when are they coming,” Jasper spoke.

“There already, here.”

Then there was a knock on the door and there they were the Volturi, in person, they look much more terrifying knowing the dire situation you’re in. Carlisle welcomed them in. You knew every one of them because Carlisle showed you pictures of them.

“Aro it’s nice to see you again.”

“Same to you Carlisle, might I say wha-.”

Caius the blonde hair man spoke.

“Brother, we’re not here for pleasures, where’s the human so Felix, can deal with the disgusting creature.”

“ I’m disgusting, you look like a lab rat.”

“Oh, you dastardly little beast wait till ii get my hands on you.”

“No.”

Alec spoke

“Alec, you speak when you’re spoken to.”

At this point, the blondie Caius was enraged and ready to take me out himself. But Aro stepped in.

“Now, now brother we did not come here for a fight only for the girl to come with us.”

“What no, you can’t take her. I won’t let you!!” As Bella stepped in front of me.

“Well, my dear it’s not your decision it was fate and it turns out Dear Y/n is Alec’s mate, so, therefore, she will be coming with us or she dies.”

Y/n stayed silent as a mouse in the affair that was going on but looked over her sister’s shoulder to see Alec and his Sister jane staring back. Alec was expressionless, but jane on the other hand showed disgust probably at the fact that her brother’s mate was not a vampire as of yet. I snapped out of the trance I was in looking at Alec.

Marcus the sombre face man spoke.

“Bella I assure you, that your sister is Alec’s mate and no harm would come to her.”

With that, the conversation was over and everyone started at me knowing I had two choices, to die or to live forever young. I didn’t know if I wanted any of those options but it seems life has given me a poor set of cards that I have to deal with.

“Well, Y/n.”

Aro held out his hand with a glint in his eye. Because she probably already knew my answer. And I took his hand.

“Okay I-I guess, I’ll go.’

“Y/n No!,”

My sister shouted but there was nothing she could do, and I didn’t want to die yet.

“Please, don’t take her, she doesn’t want this.”

Caius spoke.

“Well, we don’t always get what we want now do we.”

With that, I hugged everyone to say goodbye. I was sad because I didn’t even get today goodbye to Charlie or Sue. But I felt scared and was curious about what was to come. Y/n fell asleep on the plane feeling like an eternity of trying to sleep with eyes all on her.

Alec’s POV

A human… my mate the very thing I hate but she’s beautiful.

Felix spoke:

“Alec stop staring at her like that. You probably made her uncomfortable.”

“I’m not staring at her. And what does it matter to you anyway.”

Aro spoke

Marcus spoke

“Dear jane it will be different, for you as well once you find your forever person. Alec, it might not be easy for you to trust but with time you’ll learn to appreciate the gift you have received.”

Y/n POV

When I had awoken again I was in an unfamiliar bed, one that wasn’t my own. I slow;y got us checking my surroundings. Well, I was still unsure of what to do, but I found a pair of fresh clothes to put on. The good thing was I was able to keep my art supplies and the gifts everyone had given me. So instead of sulking in a room, I got dress after I showered and headed out on my own. Somehow with all the wandering, I did I was finally able to find the kitchen, well only because I smelt the eggs and bacon and boy I was starving, so I quickly made way and there I met Heidi.

“Goodmorning Y/n, I’m glad the clothes I put outfit you well and I see you’re an artist, well I must say that artists don’t all have to be mad to be good or starving how about, I show you around and you can find a place to paint the garden would be lovely.”

She said with a warm smile.

“Uhh, that-that would be nice thank you.”

“ Your welcome now hurry and eat a long day ahead of you"

Earthspark Thoughts

First off, I finally got around to watching earthspark, and I have to say while I did end up skimming most of it because I have the attention span of a toddler, it was fun. Very different from TFP, but fun.

I like the show and how it goes about its storytelling. I really appreciate that while we do see Optimus and Megatron, they aren't hogging the screen or duking it out every time we see them. It is also nice to see that both are respected and not thrown around or made dumb in order to make others characters appear more mature (I am looking at you RID).

The new cast and their unique outlooks on the world is refreshing and interesting. But I also really like that the veteran bots like Bumblebee, Elita-1, and others are also given a chance to give their input. You can see how their lives of struggle and warfare have changed them, especially when compared to the freshly forged earthsparked bots. It really makes me happy to see some humans and Cybertronians getting along in family units instead of precarious political and military alliances.

It is also neat to see how old grudges and faction ties affect the bots after the end of the war (just look at Soundwave). You can tell that a lot of hate is still present, but that old wounds are beginning to heal with the arrival of the earthsparked bots. For the veterans it is a sign of new beginnings, a fresh start on a new world with new allies.

Twitch, Thrash, and the others are such unique characters and I really can't wait to see how they will develop considering their nearly entirely human upbringing.

However on this same train of thought, there is only one thing I would really like to see happen in the show.

Don't get me wrong, I really do like that we get to see some bots actually intergrade into human culture without the weight of the sins of their people weighting them down. However, I think that the earthspark bots would do well to learn some things from Cybertron. Skills, tradition, language, art, history, and other simple things that would at least give them a taste of what their people's homeworld is like.

Not only would it help them learn about themselves and where their people originally came from, it would also allow us the viewers a chance to see some of the little things that were never given much attention in other shows because of the war. I would like to see little cultural things being taught to the earthsparked bots, things that would be alien to them. Bumblebee is already teaching them combat, but maybe the older bots who didn't grow up in the war could teach the earthsparked bots how to do more wholesome things.

I personally would like to see Megatron try and teach the earthsparked bots how to write in Cybertronian. And Elita-1 could teach them to speak the different Cybertronian dialects (she seems like the kind of bot to know a thousand languages for no good reason) Optimus could give them lessons in history, or depending on his backstory in this universe, teach them about the fall of Cybertron and the politics behind it.

It would be cool if the human kiddos could get involved too. The bots are already learning their culture, why not let them learn a little about Cybertron too? I don't know if I am just being picky or what, but I really just want to see the veteran bots teaching to earthsparked bots things about Cybertron.

Well those are my thoughts for now. Maybe I will post something else about earthspark later once I have finished accepting the fact that it exists and the TFP has been over for a decade and I should move on and enjoy the new stuff without constantly comparing it to TFP.

today is my last day at my job, yesterday my beloved coworkers threw me a very sweet cat-themed going away party and it was so lovely. the break room was plastered in photos of everyone's cats, we all got cat ears to wear, and there was a delicious cake. my work bestie also made me a scrapbook with candid photos of my time here, some from goofing with coworkers, making art with our library kiddos, me presenting storytime. I get so self-conscious looking at photos of myself, especially unposed ones where I don't have control over certain things, but honestly I looked at the pictures and instead of seeing all the things I get self-conscious about, I saw a person who was experiencing joy with their friends and who looked genuinely happy in that moment that photo was taken and honestly, I think this is a big moment for me in terms of body neutrality and being at peace with myself

The Handee Nutcracker: The Sugar Plum Princess

Aaand starting off with the second lineup, we couldn't forget our lovely little Gremlin that we all love, Scout!!!

So, I never mentioned that the rulers presented in my former line art, are based on creations Owen himself based a long time ago with Amy but were perfectionated by him. As for now, I can only think of Nick being like a puppet, but Scout was based on a porcelain doll

In the Fantasy world, she doesn't exactly have that features but has glossy type skin. She's the youngest Rulers and just an energetic 12-year-old under the care of Daisy herself, who helps her alongside Nick until she becomes of age and can fully take the throne

Scout is indeed an adorable and sweet kiddo, but she is a little mischievous little fairy who loves some good pranks or gets into trouble. So, when the opportunity was taken she did not hesitate to annoy Riley until Daisy intervened.

Regarding her design, I took some inspo Vanellophe VonSweentz princess design (which Scout would totally recreate XD) + the actual Sugar Plum Fairy! Dress, but her colors are more leaning towards magenta and purples due to actual Sugar Plums being close to those colors

Regarding how she feels about the other rulers, She's like an annoying little sister to Prince Nicholas, and does see Daisy as a mother figure. The Queen of the land of Flowers and the king of the Land of Snow, love her as a niece. She fears Mortimer, but doesn't think he is evil

Now...why is she a princess? Because...I kinda wanted to make everyone some sort of Ruler from the land (As it wasn't explained much in the 4 realm film, which is mostly inspired) + Fairy Scout that lives around candy was too adorable and Chaotic not to miss-

I didn't exactly lean much into the Candy canes, but they are present in her kingdom like cotton candy, but Daisy restricted her Candy consumption for obvious reasons. Scout also has a missing tooth. It was just milk tooth that felt out + she looked adorable with it

TYSM!! love that u luv it, but since I don't talk much about it,, here's some differences I hope this answers your question

(For reference, my Glenda goes by all pronouns and my Glen goes only by they/he)

-Glen and Glenda are in different doll bodies (but still do possess human twins at the end per expected)

-Glen doesn't kill Chucky at the end, because Tiffany transferring to Jennifer is visibly successful, so Glen rly isn't worried about the Tiffany doll getting axed in the face.

-Chucky tried rly hard not to kill people with the twins either near of present, but upon learning that they weren't bothered by it, he had no problem killing around them. But even at their grown age (19 as of 2023) he still asks them if they're okay with it from time to time just to make sure. (This is Un-like him? I don't care. He's an alright parent, give him a little credit.)

-speaking of, Chucky is in the twins' lives from 2004 all the way to 2013 a lil bit before curse takes place, he doesn't re-unite with them until 2021 in my au instead of 2022.

-instead of it being bitter, they both couldn't be any happier to see him, they rly missed him.

Also I have a fic (it's kinda short rn) on my ao3 *jenniferchecksz* it's called ‘how not to raise children’ . It goes along with my re-write and it takes place in 2009 and forward.

Also some small things to go along with my rewrite bc I have some

-Glenda helped Tiffany kill Fulvia at the end, like. Glenda distracted her and Tiffany attacked with the doll.

They did still promise each other to keep it secret, and it's indeed a secret to take to the grave bc they never brought it up again.

-Glenda took Chucky with her to school from ages 5 to 8, and he did get rly sad when they didn't do it anymore. And Glenda didn't care if it got weird looks for carrying a stitched up doll to school, badass kiddo.

-Glen and Glenda DID NOT DIE!! there is no GG. Glen was still shot, but they survived. Albeit now having chronic pain in his side, they're doing okay when after that.

-also ik this isn't seed related like your ask was, but in my au Chucky isn't dying. He's fine, he's doing ah-mazing.

I know i've said this on countless accounts but, I have little to zero knowledge of the American dub, so my portrayal/answers/headcanons/etc are all based on the original Japanese version and sometimes stuff borrowed from the BRPT dub (which is mostly the same as the original JP for most of the series -- except Fusion). So please, don't assume that I had watched the US dub or that I am American.

My stance on the digimon (monsters) are that there's more than one of each species within the multiverse. So, Daisuke's V-mon/Magnamon, OG & Reboot Taichis' Agumon/Omegamon and Takato's Guilmon/Dukemon are not related to the Royal Knights.

I will follow all canon material if possible when working with canon versions of the characters, BUT only what i can work with. If something gets in conflict with the main TV series (Adv99-02-Tamers-Frontier-Savers-XW-Appmon-Adv2020-GG) i will reject the contradictions and use only the stuff not affected or influenced by it. Basically playing with the idea the events we know in certain media are played differently in-universe, adopted from Pixiv Dictionary. Explained better by Shiha in this post here.

So! after all this time! i got my act together and finally got a good ref n stuff for my ghostsona! I now present to you: Harry! (basic info/extra art under cut)

-Harry, (otherwise known as the Schoolboy Ghost) he/him pronouns (genderfluid)

-chinese 14 y/o kiddo <3

-extremely shy and anxious, especially around others. however he enjoys reading books and doodling, its calming and he likes being alone in peace and quiet. Also a huge ass nerd. Despite being generally sweet and kind natured, he can be quite snarky if something is truly pissing him off or if he just wants to be alone

-Voice sounds very young-teenager-like. Kinda like steward in a way? but more immature and unsure kinda sounding-

-That gold star on his uniform is supposed to be a reference to the gold stars teachers give out to good students, as well as bc i didnt feel like making a fucking school crest or whatever-

-Was a private school student in a very prestigous sorta school. He was extremely successful n smart n all, however at one point the pressure and stress to maintain this streak got too much and he commit suicide by jumping off a building.

-Name is a reference to the fact that he is very Hairy, having a fucking mass of course, wild hair. He utilizes it by using it as storage space (ex, the elevator button)

-haunts floor xx, The Library, consisting of a spooky library, mazes of organized bookshelves, rows of old ass computers and desks and workstations, a lil lounge area, a lil storytime kids section, beanbags, front desk, etc.

-As Luigi navigates through the rows of shelves, acting as a giant maze with some Secret entrances n stuff, he eventually comes across the lil kids section, a corner with space for storytime, complete with shelves of childrens books and toys. Sitting in the middle of this area, is Harry, who appears to be happily drawing in a book, taking and putting away pencils from his hair

-When Luigi sees this, he is obviously scared, however determined to get that elevator button he noticed in his hair. When Harry notices him, he runs off, scared shitless

-the battle works where luigi needs to track the ghost down with the darklight, revealing he is possessing a bookshelf, which springs to life and proceeds to attack him, spitting books, paper airplanes, trash, etc. and also tryna body slam him. Luigi attacks by, when given the right moment to whip behind him, to plunger the back of the shelf and slam that mf

-when the bookcase is destroyed, he tumbles out, stunned and sucked by luigi, before managing to run off again and fade away, the process repeating again in a different area

-Once his hp is about 50ish, instead of running away from the broken shelf, he will retreat into a book, now bouncing around aggressively and quickly like an angry dog, leaping up and biting as well as spitting papers at him

-luigi defeats him by tiring him out and trying to flip him onto his side using that elevating vacuum move thing idk what its called, then he can plunger him and slam until the book is destroyed, then sucking him up once and for all for the elevator button

-In the lab, he is calmly sitting, drawing in a book

-Harry's extremely upset about his death, and makes up for it in the afterlife by spending his time studying/reading books (of free will), drawing, playing with toys, etc

-hes allowed to stay bc he manages the library, cleaning n organizing the place for others n all bc he finds it fun. also he helps with the hotel's finances and other problems from time to time too

Best Crue Looks 2: The Road Warriors Shout With The Devil

Last year I made this extremely important post analyzing the outfits of our favorite trash man in their larval Too Fast For Love era. Since my life is clearly still a joke, I've decided to follow up with another installment of bad fashion analysis of the outfits worn by our boys Nikki, Vince, Tommy, and Mick, in their sophomore Shout At The Devil era. Buckle up, kiddos.

Overall Look: While Too Fast For Love may have been their debut album, it wasn't until their sophmore release, Shout At The Devil, that the band began to garner mainstream attention (and infamy), opening for acts like KISS and Ozzy. Slightly more established, with a bigger budget, and fueled by the rise of MTV, it would appear that the outfits worn by our boys were simply a more realized vision of their punk meets metal look of the Too Fast For Love era. While this might be partially true, the boys may or may not have also taken inspiration from a cute little dystopian action film called Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior. Part Lord Humungus' Marauders, part Satanic Barbie dolls, the boys most certainly made an impact in Reagan's America.

Mick:

Our resident alien/guitar gremlin/team dad, Mick looks more extraterrestrial than ever before. The only member to have blue incorporated in his outfit, it sets him apart from his younger, wilder bandmates. The cooler color scheme definitely highlights his more subdued personality, as if saying "been there, done that, now leave me the fuck alone." I'm honestly dissapointed he didn't keep the silver shoulder pad featured in the album art as I think it makes him look more badass and really compliments the blue straps, making him look more like an alien bounty hunter than a post-apocalyptic marauder. His makeup also gives off extraterrestrial vibes with purple lipstick, dark eyeshadow, the black contouring, and what appears to be a complete absence of eyebrows (seriously what happened to them? Did his bandmates singe them off?). Like with his previous outfits, Mick is more covered up than his younger bandmates.

Tommy:

The youngest member of the Crüe and still practically a teenager, Tommy's SATD outfit is bit...all over the place. Featuring cut up fishnets, studded leather straps, a studded leather top that shows off his midriff, and a fucking codpeice, our boy is looking sluttier than ever, despite being the only one to incorporate white, a color symbolizing innocence in his outfit (we know that boy was far from innocent). Notably, he is also the only member to not have some kind of shoulder pad. He seems to have taken queues from Nikki, with the two stripes on the side of his face complimenting Nikki's football inspired eye black and the writing on his arms (probably to compensate for the lack of tattoos since they still young and only just getting a taste of money), perhaps depicting the influence his older bandmate had on him during the time. His makeup, featuring bright contouring, silver/blue eyeshadow, and bright red lipstick gives him a youthful appearance. Like a teenaged girl experimenting with makeup getting ready for her first date. Overall, Tommy's appearance perfectly captures his personality; youthful, slutty, and scatterbrained.

Vince:

The undisputed pretty boy in the band (sorry Nikki), Vince looks like a Barbie doll commissioned by Satan himself. His platinum blonde hair giving him an otherworldly appearance in a sea of red, black, leather and studs. As previously stated, the Crüe's frontman continues to present himself as the peacock of peacocks, with his black and red studded geddup (if you could even call it that), featuring nothing more than some studded straps and chains, proudly showing off his chest and biceps. The man is not afraid to show off his body, knowing full well the ladies won't be complaining. His makeup accentuates his high cut cheekbones with deep contouring. He's everything a heavy metal frontman should be: provocative, androgynous, and dangerous.

Nikki:

Last but not least, we have the Mötley maestro himself, who understood the fucking assignment (we would hope so considering this whole thing was his dumb idea). As we all know, the higher the shoulder pad, the closer to...Satan, and Nikki was definitely closer than ever to the red devil. Nikki's outfit has all the elements that would make him right at home pillaging the wasteland. The black leather straps, the elavated spiked shoulder pad, torn fishnets, and custom pentagram studded gauntlet, give him a distinct appearance and let us know who among this pack of Satanic marauding Barbies is large and in charge. A lifelong football fan, this is around the time he started to incorporate eye black in his stage makeup - something that would become a staple in various forms for years to come. In addition to being iconic, it also makes him look more like a warrior, perfectly capturing the kill or be killed attitude he had adopted during this time. As mentioned previously in my Too Fast For Love analysis, Nikki is still more covered up when compared to Vince and Tommy, a possible sign of insecurity.

Closing Thoughts:

Dripping with danger and decadence, this is probably one of my favorite eras looks wise. Each member having their own distinctive style while also coming together in a cohesive theme that looked sexy and badass enough to put conservatives in a tizzy. Corrupting America's youth never looked hotter. Next up is Theatre of Pain. Maybe I'll get to it next year.

Do you have any Natsuno/Keitaro's children head canon?

I most certainly do!! 😍 I've rambled about my thoughts on their kids on Twitter, but I'll share them here, as well. Thanks so much for the ask, anon!

I feel they would be one of the last couples to have kids. It's not exactly something Natsuno wants or ever cared for. That plus the nature of what they're "expected" to do post-canon, she has even more complicated feelings about it (lots of lack of agency and too much pressure when all she wanted was to make some alien friends and live a cool sci-fi life). Keitaro, on the other hand, was ready to have kids with her like two seconds after meeting her, but he's also a respectful polite boy, so he'd never ever pressure her about it. Whatever Natsuno wants is what she gets, in his mind.

They'd have lots of chats about having kids, mostly Keitaro double-checking with her. Natsuno has a few "I don't know if I can actually do this" moments; she worries she'll be a terrible mom and not be able to deal with it or whatnot. Keitaro, like always, is super patient and keeps reassuring her he's there to help and if she changes her mind? That's ok too. But also Natsuno keeps seeing him interact with the other kids and sees how amazing he is with them and is just like, "damn, he'd be a really good dad... if we had kids, they'd love him.... crap, I really want his kids now."

Anyhow, they wouldn't have kids until after they're married (honestly, she probably gets pregnant on their wedding night). They have two kids: a girl and a boy.

The oldest is Keiko. She has long brown hair and silver eyes. She's quiet and shy, hiding behind her parents a lot when others are present. She likes to hang out with her dad while he does his own quiet work. Her favorite thing is painting and drawing; she loves to show them to her parents and they love to plaster the fridge with her art. Of the other compatibles, Keiko likes Ryoko the most. Konatsu thinks Keiko is super cool and drags her around everywhere and Keiko is just glad to have an extrovert friend to cling to when social situations are super scary.

The youngest is Naoki (I imagine there's roughly a three-year gap between them). He's a spitting image of his mother. He gets excited about everything and anything and always wants to play outside. He loves bugs and animals and is always finding something he wants to bring home as a pet. Keitaro and Natsuno build him a treehouse at some point and he legit wants to live in it forever. He's perpetually the kid who is asking a million questions and always getting in trouble, whether he tries to or not. He loves it when his mom goes on nature explorations with the other kiddos and tries to show off a bit with all the neat things he can do (help this poor child, he has so many bruised joints). Of the other compatibles, he loves to hang out with Tamao and Megumi, because they cook up the best treats.

Keiko and Naoki get along relatively well, though Keiko is perpetually worried about her little brother running off all the time. Naoki also gets frustrated about Keiko worrying about seemingly nothing or just the fact she's an introvert and doesn't want to run around and play with him all the time. They bicker as siblings do, though they do care for each other. Naoki loves all the cool art she makes and is always asking her to draw up the random stories he comes up with. Keiko loves hearing about his bug facts and nature journeys. I like to think as they get older, they hang out in his treehouse whenever one of them is having a bad day and just vent and support each other.

Both Keitaro and Natsuno are extremely supportive in their own ways for their children. Keitaro is the more grounded of the two, having more patience than Natsuno when their kids are being... well, kids. He probably shoulders more parenting than necessary just so Natsuno doesn't have to stress about it. Natsuno wants her kids to enjoy life and pursue whatever they love, but also worries constantly, especially when Naoki starts taking after her and doesn't show up for dinner. She has bouts of "oh no I'm the worst mom ever" and "they must hate me for being so strict why am I like this", but Keitaro always reassures her and it always works out in the end.

And they love their parents a ton! Natsuno is actually a super cool mom, hosting weekly movie nights and telling the best bedtime stories. She wants to know everything about whatever they're interested in at the moment so she can supply them with everything they need to pursue said interest. Keitaro just rolls with the punches; he's firm, yet extremely compassionate. They don't have dad wrapped around their fingers like Natsuno does with him, but he does whatever he can so they can have the life he never had growing up.

Mortem ad Wrens Chapter 16: We Are Determined to Live and to Die!

Slipping into their room at almost half past midnight, Akira flopped onto the bed and saw over a dozen chat notifications from the Mad Banquet. Koda and Shinso were thriving, although the latter was going through what they called the Eraser Hell Course. Shaking their head at his theatrics, Akira frowned as they scrolled down to Tokoyami being disheartened with his internship, having learned nothing except how self-centered and seemingly unwilling to teach Hawks was. Only Shinso was still online, but Akira sent a quick update that they just got in from patrol and were about to crash. Shinso immediately sent a facetime request, which Akira blearily accepted, barely sitting up enough to sign.

“Hey, how’d your first- woah, our eyes match!”

Akira cocked their head in confusion before remembering that they’d taken their contacts out a bit ago since Taishiro and Amajiki already knew their birth family. ‘Exhausting. I have to more than double my food budget with the plan he said I need, and I don’t know how that’s going to happen. Fat Gum also figured out more than I wanted him to – at least in this phase – and now Purple Moon knows, too.’

“He- I thought you were barely keeping up with Recovery Girl’s?” Shinso switched gears as Aizawa walked into frame.

‘Hi sensei, and I’ll figure it out eventually. I just haven’t had the time to sit down and hammer out more than an unsustainable work/school/sleep balance that’ll set me back too far on that deposit. I have a week to make it work, two if I need to delay continuing the plan.’

“What about those 1000-calorie drinks you sometimes use?”

‘Those are expensive, though. He gave me a bunch of recipes that are meant for a low budget, but they all require electricity to some degree.’

“Did he give you them before or after he… found out?” Shinso asked, drawing Aizawa’s attention. “Then maybe he’ll adjust it tomorrow? If nothing else, I can make you some of the stuff here and bring it to school.”

‘Blank, no. That’s too much. My base intake needs to double, and part of this week is figuring out how much I need to increase my variable snacks to be effective.’ Aizawa choked on his coffee in the background, and Akira stifled a laugh. ‘Besides, you two need to leave soon for patrol; I imagine that’s why Eraser is lurking?’

The next day, Akira found the morning shift in the cafeteria and was quickly spotted by the Diminutive Hero: Mouse. “Hey kid!” the petite hero bounded up. “I’m Mouse, fae/faer pronouns. You must be Umbra Mortis. Not many first years see me on their first day. Let me guess, Class A?”

They nodded, ‘I remember reading about those, but do you know the JSL? I was having trouble finding signs for a lot of neopronouns.’

“Sure thing, kiddo,” Mouse grinned and went through the signs. “They aren’t coded yet, so it varies between people. Kind of like call signs! Fat Gum and Suneater usually aren’t down here for another two hours, so how about you sit with us.”

Gust and Lizarro waved tiredly from the group’s table while nursing coffee mugs.

“What got you up so early this morning? Did Fat Gum forget to give you the schedule? From the shift overview, it sounded like you had an eventful first night.”

‘I’m just used to getting four hours of sleep. Figured I could go back over my new budget I started working on yesterday.’ Noticing Lizarro’s stare, Akira cocked their head, ‘Do you need something?’

“You’re the kid who danced instead of fighting in the quarter-finals at the sports festival, right?”

Akira quirked a small smile, ‘While not accurate, you’re not technically wrong. I didn’t want the media exposure, so approached Pink Queen with an offer of letting her show off an unusual fighting style. She’s been dancing for years and noticed that most people with vocal quirks along with a few outliers move to a beat that can be followed.’

“And since she wouldn’t face a quirk like that, you wanted to show her understanding,” Gust supplied. “Smart move if she was looking for an internship with someone with that type of quirk. Did you get many offers?”

‘I had ten in total, but Fat Gum was the one I was hoping to get the attention of, so it wasn’t much of a choice.’

“Because of your quirk drawback, right? That blonde kid with the copy quirk seemed pretty shaken up about it.”

Why does everyone think that? Akira huffed. ‘That was part of it, yes, to see if he had ideas for better management since his is similar. But the main reason was he’s one of the few heroes with core ideals similar to mine and a track record of consistently upholding them.’

Finishing their breakfast while listening to the group banter about various pros’ codes and – mostly questionable – morals, Akira logged their meal before flipping to their budget again. The thought briefly crossed their mind of convincing Boss to let them be a tester a couple times, but the risk of addiction or serious side effects were too high even for them, not to mention if the drug was picked up by a quirk or a trip to Recovery Girl. Wait. Akira sat up a little straighter as they mentally ran through who had been blacklisted after the USJ incident. We are low on security personnel… While not intimidating on their own, Akira could easily be a cloak in the shadows and eyes in the rafters. They quickly made another chart, grinning as the standard security schedule would get them enough for a security deposit before winter.

“You figure it out, kid?” Lizzaro asked, interrupting Mouse’s rant on the difference between mice and rats.

‘Yeah, I think I can make this work. Just need to pick up some extra responsibilities at work. We’re a little short-staffed, so it shouldn’t take much convincing.’

“That’s great! If you ever need help, though, Fat Gum’s helped all of us out of tight situations before,” Mouse pointed out before faer watch started chiming. “That’s our alarm to get ready for patrol, remember to leave some time for fun, kid.”

Akira blinked, wondering at the idea for a moment before turning their chair against the wall and continuing to encode their notebook. Half an hour into the process, Taishiro and Amajiki came in with the night shift, who mostly grabbed small meals, tea, or presumably decaf coffee. The pair made their way to Akira’s table.

Tucking away their notebook, Akira signed, ‘I figured out the budget. There are some openings that would pay enough to cover food while still putting a bit aside.’

Taishiro smiled gently even as an edge creeped into his voice. “What would you be doing and why are the positions open?”

‘Protection detail. Most likely from the shadows or rafters since Boss will still want me out of harm’s way when possible. Some people were blacklisted after USJ.’

“And if a pro arrives?”

Akira gave him a flat look. ‘I’m not giving you our exit strategies.’ After a moment of Taishiro’s smile turning mildly amused, Akira realized what he meant to ask. ‘Sorry. If it’s Eraser, talk. If it’s any other pro, lead them off.’

Once Taishiro and Amajiki finished breakfast, they headed to the large office. After closing the door, Taishiro guided Akira to a chair, the latter realizing they were shaking. The hero moved back to his desk, pulling out a small bin and offering its contents to Amajiki before heading back to Akira, who was just taking out their texture ball.

“Ah, good, you have one already. I always keep fidget toys in here for harder conversations or days,” Taishiro said gently. “Feel free to continue using that one or peruse the bin as we talk. Now, for today at least, I want to understand why we aren’t moving on the Wrens now and what plan you have.”

Akira unsuccessfully willed their hands to stop shaking as they signed, ‘They have decades old contracts with the Hero Commission and understandings with the Police that protect their status and reputation in both hero and civilian circles. As bad as corruption is among limelights, the Wrens account for most of the cover-ups and blacklisting victims with their teams of lawyers and full support from the Commission as a known producer of powerhouses.

As for my plan…I’ll give you the choice: plausible deniability or reality?’

“The more I know, the more likely I am to be able to help you.”

‘Purple Moon?’ At his firm nod, they continued. ‘Once I get my full license, I’ll be an independent underground hero. I’ll grab one of the young Wren heroes and determine if there’s a way to reverse the memory alteration. If not, I’ll be pretty limited in who I can save, but I’ll still grab as many pre-quirk and “weak” quirked kids as I can, using my associates to help with housing them. Once everyone I can get out is out, I’ll kill the Legacy Holder branch, which is in charge of breeding and breaking memory- and emotion-altering quirks to make the empire more sustainable. If fortune is on my side – which it rarely is – that will end the effects currently over most of the Wren heroes. At that point, it’s a matter of bringing the old guard to justice and preventing mass suicides.’

Akira looked up from their lap to check in before the darker alternative. Amajiki once again looked sick, but Taishiro’s prominent emotion was worry with nearly concealed fury. “And if fortune isn’t on your side?”

‘If the process is reversible, reverse those I can, but… When justice is an impossibility and the crime too great, revenge is the path to take. I would take my army of vigilantes and “villains” and gut the Wrens. The Commission should then be weakened enough for the kids to take them down in a legal battle.’

“The kids?” Amajiki whispered. “What about you?”

Akira blinked. ‘I doubt I’ll make it to 30 with everything that could go wrong. Given that the Wrens will underestimate the kids they practically or literally left for dead, they’ll have a better chance of surviving the war.’

Taishiro quietly observed them for a few minutes before continuing. “If you took out the leaders, would the group not fall?”

‘No, part of the alterations from the differences I’ve seen is convincing the victims that the abuse was justified and doing the right thing. They will just continue because they were programmed to not know better. They won’t face justice because they’re so ingrained in the justice system, and if I target the Hero Commission and police first, I’ll effectively be facing all of Japan. Anything I expose on their end will be refuted by the family, and they can easily bring in the Legacy Holder branch to turn witnesses and victims.’

“What if you target the Legacy Holders then the Commission?”

‘If I move on the Wrens, I have to keep them on the defensive because they have the quirks to find me once they realize I’m alive and taking revenge. Giving them the time it would take to go after the Commission would also give them the time to make an excuse to obliterate whatever building I’m in along with my followers.’

“Sounds like you need some people on your side, then. Many of the twilight and underground heroes are unhappy with the state of the Commission and have been for a long time. You’ll need people to help evaluate your first target, right? I know some, and we can help with stable environments for the kids you bring.”

Akira nodded, deciding not to bring up Plan B for now, at least. ‘Twilight and Underground only, though, and I want to watch them before they know any part of this. If word gets out, the Wrens will not hesitate to kill anyone they think might be associated with their secrets.’

The somber mood followed the trio to the training rooms after Akira finished encoding their notes and destroying the keys and plain text. ‘When I warped to the lamp post, I noticed a new shadow next to me in my mindscape.’

“Next to you?” Suneater asked.

‘Yeah? I was standing in my neutral space, and a figure made of shadow appeared next to me.’ Akira paused. ‘Do you not see in first person in your mindscape?’

“I… don’t see anything. I know what I have, but it’s just black.”

“Let’s start with you warping, then, and see if the shadow figure is back,” Taishiro suggested. “You can text me while invisible, so we have a line of communication.”

Akira nodded and warped a meter to the side and, closing their eyes to focus, once again saw the shadow figure. They texted “it’s back” to Taishiro before refocusing. Circling the figure, Akira noted that it looked like someone had taken a silhouette of them and made it 3D. They reached out to touch the figure, but their hand passed through with a sensation not unlike petting Dark Shadow.

“It twitched,” Fat Gum called out.

Interesting, I wonder…Akira stepped into the shadow figure and moved into a defensive position. A deep feeling of wrongness settled in their gut, and they quickly stepped out.

“Keep doing what you just did, it changed position.”

Akira opened their eyes to see the clone now in the pose they took. They texted Fat Gum, “Something felt very wrong when I tried to step into the figure to control it, but it moved as I did.”

“The first few times I transformed a body part, it felt unnatural and almost wrong,” Suneater said softly. “It might be the unfamiliarity.”

After a moment, Akira texted that they were going to warp again to see if anything changed when they had two clones active. With Fat Gum’s go-ahead, they noticed that the first figure split into two. Closing their eyes, Akira touched the connecting thread of shadow and startled at the distinct thrum of energy. Slowly reaching their hand back in, they grasped the tendril and felt what was almost like two additional pulses harmonizing with their own.

Even as they stepped back from the connection, they felt the pulses remain. Breath hitching, they quickly dispelled the clones. The pulses faded out slower than the clones, echoing in their chest.

“Are you alright?” Fat Gum approached, eyes searching their frame.

Akira shuddered before nodding, ‘Just… a bizarre feeling. It was like when Pink Queen and I synched up at the sports festival, but I could feel the two pulses.’

“Okay, do you want to slow down or keep going?”

For the rest of the session, Akira focused on getting used to the connection with clones and forming it with only one active. Mentally stepping into a clone still didn’t seem like a good primary control method, but they were at least moving in the right direction. Once it seemed Akira wasn’t being a danger to themself, Suneater started his own training routine, focusing primarily on his arms for the day at least.

Notes:

fun fact: I actually have hyperphantasia, which is like the opposite of aphantasia, which I gave Amajiki. I can see all the things in my head and my other senses often interact with them. Great for learning what injuries feel like, horrible when the same activates involuntarily I was double-checking the trigger warning edits for this chapter and registered the “multiplicity-adjacent activities.” Hadn’t really thought about how I picture Stranger quirks working that way, but makes sense. In order to differentiate control mechanisms from Masters and Changers, I set up how I picture each of them being represented in the user’s mindscape. For Masters, are usually strings leading to the people they control or their summons. Amajiki’s description is standard for Changers, although those without aphantasia can see their options, a switch, or some other on/off visualization. Additional note: yeah so I didn't know I'm host of a DID system at the time of writing this. Akira is a bit system-coded between that and her masks being somewhat based off Shallan in Stormlight Archives, who is also canonically a system (forgot about that when I was drawing inspiration)

Hello! I love your art! Feel free to ignore this but i was wondering of you could recommend any good found family or platonic fanfics? I'm in the mood for fluffy things :)

This is gonna sound extremely silly, but, despite being very much a fan of platonic dynamics, I can't really think of a lot of fics of that kind... Which probably has something to do with how I'm obsessed with certain characters which keeps me firmly in the "Multiverse-scale" part of the fandom — and that part of the fandom is... uh... less good for family stuff than the rest, but eh...

So, uh... scraping around what I even could remember left me with this:

• If you want a canon-adjacent, in-character depictions: "Whatever It Takes" by cola_mint (G, translated from Russian). A one-shot of family fluff featuring Top!Gaster, Aster and Ink, where the heavily domestic duo considers the implications and consequences of having a gremlin of a child.

• If you're okay with crack-fic and/or OOC stuff: "Blood Moon" series by EmmaraldNightmare (rating varies from G to M). Focuses on "Bad Sanses" and "Star Sanses" and a variety of things happening. The fics are fairly self-contained so you can choose which to read and which to skip if you feel like it. I don't think it was intended as crack-fic, but that's how my mind processes them. Basically, if "No one got everything right during the holidays. Some families got the wrong presents, others argued over the decorations. His had chainsaw jousting matches on gaster blasters. To each their own." sounds like your type of humor, give it a try. If it doesn't, pass.

• If you're okay with what is basically an AU of an AU of an AU: "Adopt or Be Adopted" series by century_berry (rated G to T). The two stories share no connection between them apart from the main theme: a kiddo named Blank (who is an AU version of Frisk, I think?) gets themself adopted. It's adorable. It's also really deep down the rabbit hole of AU stuff, so... up to you.
