#also; I'm curious if they're going to have the same person voice all his characters; or hire different actors for different characters

Naturally I'm pretty bummed that Charles Martinet is effectively retiring from voicing Mario characters in game, but it is understandable since the man has been voicing them for almost 30 years now

Hazbin Hotel Episode 7-8 (Finale) Hot Takes ~
I personally loved a lot of the Charlastor content in the beginning. So cute.
The deal Alastor purposed to Charlie was also very predictable. We already knew they were going to eventually make a deal but that deal in particular was just very predictable.
I think everyone knows this already but that "one little favor" that Alastor is going to ask of her is going to bite her in the ass. We don't know what he's going to ask but it's definitely gonna come back to haunt her.
She may even make a deal with him again possibly in the future, who knows.
I'm surprised Vaggie didn't know Angel's could be harmed or killed. Its weird that she also didn't know how to fight against one.
Rosie is a real gem and a wayyyyy better friend than Mimzy fucking is.
I love Carmilla & Vaggie's dynamic. I think they both are very much the same personality wise. I definitely can see Carmilla as a mother figure to her or at least a teacher to her, which she pretty much is.
To follow up, I loved Carmilla training Vaggie and helping her get her wings back. Out For Love was also really really good. I liked it a lot.
Never thought I'd hear Alastor call someone an old bitch but it was everything.
I knew Charlie was gonna forgive Vaggie regardless of anything but I love Auntie Rosie.
I didn't really like "Ready For This". I wish I did like it. Especially since it had Charlie, Alastor, & Rosie in it. Idk I liked Out For Love more.
Vox's commentary was funny asf but he's also such a hater. Not even a low-key one lmao.
The post-fight celebration and speech was actually very sweet. Although I wish there was more time and episodes that we could have seen more of the characters bond. I also wish there were more opportunities where we got to know them better.
I really thought Angel & Husk were gonna fuck this episode.
I wasn't expecting for Sir Pentious to say "I love you" to Cherri Bomb so soon and I also didn't need to know he had 2 dicks.
"More Than Anything" Chaggie version was pretty sweet. It'd be cool if there was a longer version idk if there is. They also kissed which was nice.
Adam & Lute are funny asf. Especially Adam. They may be horrible people but I just can't get over how funny they are. Even when they're about to massacre Charlie's people. Lol.
I wasn't expecting the war to be kinda epic. The shield that Alastor put up over the hotel kinda reminded me of the last Harry Potter. When they all put a shield around Hogwart's to protect everyone from the death eaters and voldemort.
Adam might just be the funniest character in this series dead or alive. Heaven or Hell.
It pisses me off how Charlie barely does anything in the fight. Like, this is her people and her fucking hotel as she keeps saying... yet everybody else but her is fighting. Wtf? Girl yo ass should be in Sloth.
I love Alastor & Adam's dynamic, their first impression of eachother is so hilarious. The fight between them was also very entertaining. I was really curious to see who would win.
I was actually kinda surprised that Alastor was defeated so easily. I honestly thought he was stronger than that, but tbh Adam is very powerful he's the fucking first man, extermination commander, and he already single handedly broke Alastor's shield.
People have pointed out Alastor's "normal" voice when his mic/staff breaks, because it's his voice without the radio filter. Imma be honest I wasn't that shocked at all, he just sounds the same to me, the radio filter just adds a cool effect.
Charlie really could have got tf up there and helped Alastor out. Idk if she thought he could handle himself or what but fuck.
SIR PENTIOUS KISSING CHERRI WAS AMAZING. WE WON. But then he "died"...
To follow up that sacrifice was anticlimactic at the same time. Mostly because of the way Adam just effortlessly zapped him out of existence.
I'm so disappointed in the "Charlie finally snaps" bit. I was literally dying to see this part in the series, where Charlie finally loses her shit and stands up for herself or whatevever....but it ended up being extremely disappointing and yet again, anticlimactic.
Charlie's transformation along with Razzle & Dazzle was kindaaa cool, however...her getting her ass kicked within like 0.3 fucking seconds was not. It was embarrassing for a demon of her status. I can understand Alastor, but seriously Charlie? You can't beat him? The clownery.
I loved the Vaggie & Lute fight. Let my girl Vaggie finally get her ones. Lute needs her ass beat disrespectfully for what she did.
Although...Lute was winning that fight, she was still holding her own and getting more hits in. I don't even think Carmilla's teaching's were working. Lmao damn. That bitch is fucking scrappy.
Vaggie should have just ended Lute. I know she's too good for that, but she really should have just killed that bitch. She left you for dead you should have just killed her.
Charlie stabbing Adam and standing her ground was badass, but that was kinda it. She still ends up almost getting choked out. Lame.
Charlie just isn't that powerful. 😒 Or at least as she's supposed to be. Maybe it's still not really shown to us, but so far she just isn't that threatening at all. Very disappointing.
Lucifer coming in kinda pissed me off. I wish Charlie could have actually handled everything herself without her dad having to come in and help her. I just feel like it'd be more impactful for her and her character.
Adam x Lucifer actually does seem kinda hot....just me???
Their fight was very entertaining despite already knowing who would come out on top. Hehe.
"All of Mankind came from these fucking nutts" is pure poetry.
Nifty is a menace and I have been saying it since the very beginning. If anyone should be running shit it should be her. Alastor is so feared but it should be herrrr.
I didn't like "The Show Must Go On" as a song but it was sweet in the sense that it was about Charlie and her found family helping her rebuild her hotel and still have the determination to keep going. Also it helps lead off into Season 2.
I'm fucking itching to know what deal is bothering Alastor and who he made it with. It's becoming more likely that it's with Lilith & that's who owns him.
I think it's obvious the deal possibly involve's Alastor to watch over or protect Charlie. Alastor is becoming bothered by having to do this because he literally almost fucking died.
I'm really worried about what Alastor is going to do when he's finally free and under no restraints from who controls him. I know Viv said Alastor isn't an antagonist but she could've just been keeping it a secret.
Alastor really might be a secret antagonist. He'll just be that surprise villain in the end that kinda comes out of nowhere but you still knew it was coming. I wouldn't trust him especially with what he said. Him pulling the strings can't be good.
I can't believe Sir Pentious got redeemed before Angel Dust, but still good for him! I'm so happy he got redeemed he truly is good and deserves it.
I was pissed asf when I saw Lilith in Heaven. Your daughter has been in HELL fucking struggling, while you've been sitting comfy up in heaven, the same place that is fucking YOUR people up!!! Helloooo??
My theory is that Lilith is Eve in disguise. I wholeheartedly believe that because something just feels off?? Y'all feel that too??? Lilith making a deal with Adam? Chilling up in Heaven? NAH MAN.
I also think it could be Eve who owns Alastor and that he knows of her being disguised as Eve, and is in Heaven. Like he's kinda in on it, but more so by force.

My sister has been showing me episodes of OG Trigun--mostly in preparation for Trigun Stampede--but also because it's one of her favorite manga of all time.
And holy SHIT I cannot even begin to explain how fucking batshit this show is. Just hearing Johnny Yong Bosch's voice alone immediately sent me back at least fifteen years.
I have watched all episodes of OG Trigun while drunk, high and sober. And regardless of my state of inebreiation, I was always left with the exact, inescapable feeling of wanting to fucking die from the sheer nostalgic cringe and insanity of it all. I hate this show. I love this show. I'm fucking obsessed.
So, to all those who are curious (or would just like a mini idea of how to compare OG Trigun with Trigun Stampede)--here is my comprehensive list of things that ACTUALLY happened in Trigun that make me go absolutely batshit just thinking about them:
The sheer insanity of the--balls to the walls, barely held together with ducktape, spit and shoestring--of a plot, all with apparently little to no accuracy to the manga whatsoever. This both amuses and horrifies my sister.
The absolute refusal on the part of the anime to actually explain literally anything. Like the fact that the show takes place in space. Or why humanity is on a desert planet. Or what Plants are, why they're important, why they're there, literally ANYTHING.
Seriously, if you've only ever watched the anime you would have no fucking clue what the Plants are or what they even do. And THEY'RE LITERALLY ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT BITS OF LORE/A HUGE PART OF THE PLOT OF THE ENTIRE FUCKING MANGA.
A major bit of Trigun's lore/setting is just straight up the events of Wall-E.
Johnny Yong fucking Bosch as Vash's English VA. Enough said.
Vash--by simply existing and (mostly) through no direct fault of his own--is capable of wrecking such sheer and complete utter devastation that there's an actual insurance policy people can file after their town is destroyed in the aftermath of him visiting. Iconic.
Monev is just Spiderman's Venom but with a purple and orange reskin. This was intentional on part of the creator as he is obsessed with Venom. Good on him.
This is only specific to the English Dub (we switched to the original sub for the more "serious" episodes, calm down), but HOLY FUCK the absolutely atrocious line deliveries somehow make the show even worse and yet ultimately so much funnier all at the same time!
Millions Knives is the name of Vash's twin brother.
Vash is bisexual. There are multiple occassions where he will call a random male character "Cute" or "Cutie." Somehow, I am not the least bit surprised.
Christianity exists. And the Church trains orphans to be assassins. This makes perfect sense.
"LUUV AND PEEEEAAACCCCCEEE!!!!"
In the second episode of the series (English Dub), there's an actual scene where an old man and his grandson LOUDLY lament the absolute devastation of their home in the most inappropriately cheerful and candid way possible. And then the fucking kid follows that up by just singing out of fucking nowhere "~Bad times are here LALALALALA!!!!!~"
Vash is part gun.
According to "company regulations," as insurance workers Milly and Meryl are not allowed to take part time jobs. They later take part time jobs. My broke ass resonated too fucking hard with this bit.
"Oh, maaaan! Why can't I just get a break?! Death and poverty like me so much, they've brought friends!" Fucking. Mood.
At one point, Vash does the crab walk to dodge a barrage of bullets. This is, surprisingly, quite effective.
"I'll whack you, mister!"
Legato's introduction is him sitting down on a bench and then PULLING A HOT DOG OUT OF A PAPER BAG WITH A HUMAN HEAD IN IT!!!!
Legato has his own personal saxophone player that just follows him everywhere???????
"Oh my. I'm about to go down in ~fllaaaaaammeesssss!~"
Wolfwood.
In EP 16, someone just starts randomly scatting in the background for no reason. No explanation is ever offered.
"My name is .... VASH DA STAMPEDE-DUUUH!!!!!"
Also in EP 16, one of the villains for that episode sounds, deadass, exactly like Jar Jar Binks. I am not joking.
Legato can blood bend.
There's a mini episode dedicated to Milly and Meryl. Vash shows up for five seconds hiding in a trash can. The joke writes itself.
"The DEADLY DODGEBALL HEAD!!! A simple technique to hold the ball in place with INTENSE SUUUCTION!! Try this at home! ;)"
Knives eats an apple, cuts his own hair and enters his impromptu emo arc.
Legato gets horny over the idea of Vash crying. Idk what to tell you, man.
Wolfwood shoots a child. Granted, said child was gonna try to kill Vash and a bunch of orphans. But still.
Vash makes up a dark song about murdering and killing people. The villains of that episode proceed to roast him for his shit lyrics.
Wolfwood doesn't understand why everyone is mad at him for KILLING A CHILD.
"I meditate diligently every morning. The subjects are life and love ... I quit after three seconds."
The actually downright amazing OST, that has no right to be as good as it is. No joke, one of the best anime OSTs I have ever heard in my life.
"And if you're still having doubts, check out my 100% accurate gunmanship!" *proceeds to shoot directly at the sky only then for a black cat to fall directly on his head. The cat's fine btw*
At a certain point, Vash fakes his identity, gets a disguise and goes under a false name. Said false name being "Eriks." He looks like if someone ran Hohenheim through the washer and then hung him on a clothesline for a week. I have ... no fucking words.
"What is this strange phenomena? Is it some sort of strange and twisted Christian science!?"
For as menacing as they make Legato out to be, he sure does shit all in the grand scheme of things. Also he looks like he raids Seto Kaiba's closet on the DL and duels monsters on weekends.
Vash will randomly have Bishie eyes. Arguably, his most Bishie moment is right after Wolfwood punches him in the face. I'll let you infer what you want from this.
Rem randomly appears out of nowhere to taunt Vash with nonsense riddles and haikus. No explanation is ever given until EP 17 for who Rem is, why she keeps reappearing in Vash's mind, if she's even a real person or just someone Vash made up, etc. Because of this, it just looks like Vash keeps receiving American Beauty-style rose shower psychic attacks while a random woman just spouts absolute nonsense at him. There is no way this explanation will prepare you for the actual experience of watching it.
"I am known as Valentinez Alkalinella Xifax Sicidabohertz-" *prolonged pause* "-Gombigobilla Blue Stradivari Talentrent Pierre Andri Charton-Haymoss Ivanovici Baldeus George Doitzel Kaiser the Third. Don't hestitate to call."
Vash gets adopted by an old woman and her granddaughter. It's actually kind of sweet.
A minor villain in EP 18 demands that Vash strip and then act like a dog. He proceeds to do both without a single objection. Wolfwood pulls down his sunglasses and leers at Vash's naked ass. My sister has informed me that this is actually canonical.
Rem is a hyper Christian.
Wolfwood takes personal offense to a burlesque dancer being absolute shit at dancing. Honestly ... I can't even argue with him.
"Hey, 'Thou Shalt Not Kill,' REMEMBER!? WHAT KIND OF CHURCH MAN ARE YOU!!!?"
Vash saves a town's Plant through the power of Bishie.
While trying to save a child, Vash and Wolfwood both get sucked into quicksand. Said child just watches them go into the ground. I would have done the same.
Milly, Vash and Wolfwood decide to share drinks and before any of them even take a single shot, Milly decides to strip naked. Vash and Wolfwood are very pleased by this. Meryl is not.
"WHOSE idea was it to USE THE GRENADE!!!?? He can't be identified for the reward if he's a pile of pulp, YOU DUMBASS!!!!"
Wolfwood calls Vash pathetic. This kickstarts yet another existential crisis within Vash.
"Thank GOD you asked! It's a long story, although it's kind of a short one."
For literally no reason at all, child Knives decides to embrace his Anti-Christ symbolism and goes full Joker mode. This is not at all accurate to the manga.
Vash and Knives are aliens/Plants. Rem thinks they're actual Christian angels. Deadass.
Milly forces Wolfwood to pretend to be her baby daddy for a whole episode. For pudding. Yup.
Vash enters a dom/sub relationship with a Pokemon gym leader looking lady and they engage in extremely explicit pet play.
Anyway, watch OG Trigun. If you've ever watched any sort of anime abridged series, it will definitely make things a little easier for you. There are definitely too many points at which this show feels like a YouTube Poop and I mean in that best and worst possible way.
Also Meryl is Best Girl. I will not budge on this.

DRDT + Milgram AU: Undercover (Introduction)
Finally succumbed to the Urges and came up with ideas for a full Danganronpa Despair Time - Milgram AU, and now I feel like sharing. This means giving each character a MV + VD concept (not a full VD though I ain’t writing that much dialogue, and not a full MV because who do you think I am), plus this Undercover post! I’m not sure if I’ll commit to this for a full three trials, or I’ll just drop it after just one, but I can guarantee I’ll do this trial in full. Feel free to make analysis posts (no pressure obvs), but also obvs don't expect this to be that good, I'm doing this for fun.
And if you come from the Milgram side, uh... have fun? I am curious about what people with no prior conceptions of these characters would think, but I do recommend DRDT if you haven't watched it (the overlap between the fandoms is non-trivial, I imagine you'll like it). If not, you should probably look up the character designs at least, but be wary that there will be DRDT spoilers.
As an obvious disclaimer just in case, I am not affiliated with either DRDT or Milgram in any way, this is just a fanmade AU done entirely for fun.
Basic Concept
Pretty simple. What if the 16 students of DRDT were prisoners in Milgram? This means they're all "murderers" by some loose definition of the word, implying most of their backstories must be changed to acommodate for that. For the prisoner pairs, I just paired them based on the Chapter 1 recap. The rest is pretty self-explanatory provided you know how Milgram works; three trials, vote Forgiven/Unforgiven, etc. I won't repeat it all here. You can go to the official Milgram YT channel for more information if you're not familiar.
Meet Es
Although they are of unspecified adult age, this universe’s Es is very similar to canon Es from the main series, at least in appearance. The only differences are red highlights in their hair, as well as sharp yellow eyes and taller height. They also wear arm sleeves on both their arms, being particularly adverse to people touching the left one, and their voice is slightly higher pitch. As for their personality… well, you’ll have to wait for the VDs, right? But as a heads up, they’re quite a bit nicer than canon Es, though they can still get pretty strict with the prisoners.
(Can you tell who they’re connected to yet?)
Their uniform is the same as canon, including the band thing which in Milgram runes reads “reciffO eciloP”. The only difference is that their other band thing is longer and has the following runes:
Tumblr media
(As a heads up, since there's no rune for 'q' I just used the rune for 'c/k' in its place. You probably don't need to translate it all to know what this says if you're familiar with DRDT lore)
Jackalope is replaced by DRDT canon MonoTV, no big changes to its personality. It still breaks the fourth wall and talks to an audience, which is odd for the prisoners (and Es) seeing as there is no audience in-universe (at least, that's what it claims).
*Es’ VD is mostly the same, besides changes in dialogue caused by the difference in personalities. The only real difference is that there is no ‘extra cell.’
*Cover is still Hibana.
Alright, let's get to the fun stuff.
Undercover
(It is highly recommended you know what the canon Undercover looks like before reading this, since a lot of it is pretty similar)
The opening is still the same minus Es' different appearance and MonoTV replacing Jackalope, and only starts changing when the prisoners begin showing up.
(Don’t- Don’t expect this to actually work as a song btw. I’m not insane enough to make that work)
UNDER Split in between decisions, my conscious is made up of torn stitches
Levi (01) holds a mostly neutral expression as he holds up his prisoner card, which displays his face alongside an image of an alleyway. His pose keeps changing slightly in smash cuts. Levi’s face darkens right before there’s a switch to the next prisoner.
(Note: I won’t mention the pose switching and the face on the card all the time, since that’s part of canon Undercover. Just assume it always repeats)
UNDER The beauty in simplicity, wilting with rising complexities
Arturo (02) has his chin up arrogantly at first, showing a prisoner card with a picture of a bathroom. He scoffs and turns around before the switch.
UNDER A liar? No, that’s wrong! My honesty shines like a star in the night
David (03) (speaker persona) smiles nervously, rubbing at his cheek with a finger. His card shows a bedroom. He covers his face with his free hand, sighing before the switch.
UNDER A sinner? No, you’re kidding! I’m innocent as can be, just don’t mind the gaps
Whit (04) throws a cheeky grin to the camera, doing a finger gun with his free hand. His card shows a park. He nervously rubs the back of his neck before the switch.
(Note: Yes I gave him 04 because of the tetraphobia thing sue me-)
UNDER With a fury and a passion, unstoppable, show them your fangs
Ace (05) snarls at the camera. His card shows a city street. He throws it to the floor angrily before the switch.
(Note: Sometimes I wasn't quite able to tie their talent to their murder, so it's either tangential to their story or has been replaced with something similar. I am mentioning this with Ace for... no reason in particular, sure, you'll believe that)
UNDER Your fears and anxieties, Respond to the stress, show me fight or flight
Nico (06) hides under the part of their cloak which looks like a scarf, peeking out nervously. Their card shows a locker room. They take a step back as the scene switches.
INSERT CHORUS HERE
UNDER Each existence is like no other, Lucky, unlucky, showtime reaches all
J (07) holds up her card with an unsatisfied expression. It shows a bridge surrounded by camera equipment. She rolls her eyes as the scene switches.
UNDER And yet, it’s all the same In the end, this wretched still life goes on
Rose (08) yawns as she holds up her card lazily. It shows a large dining room. The card slips from her hand as she falls asleep.
UNDER It’s too much, too much, I’m high strung, please forgive my sins
Hu (09) looks nervous, glancing around as if to find a place to hide. Her card shows a zither in a non-descript room. She drops her card, and closes her eyes with a pained expression, a hand on her chest.
UNDER Please do condemn me, Bloodletting, the horror inside us is what makes me feel.
Veronika (10) spins and gives the camera a bright smile as she pulls out her card. It shows a rooftop. She throws the card in the air dramatically, laughing as it spins around and falls beside her. Her eyes fall back on the camera, and she smirks menacingly.
UNDER  Unopposable, incontestable Merry kings, life’s queens, for me they bow down.
Arei (11) is sticking out her tongue and looking to the side dismissively. Her card shows a bowling alley. She laughs into her hand before the scene switch.
UNDER My weakness haunts me, Alarm bells are ringing, there's no going back.
Eden (12) fidgets with her hands, shaking nervously. She hides her face behind her card as she shows it, but her teary eyes are still visible over it. The card shows a bedroom full of clocks. She cries into her hands before the switch.
INSERT CHORUS HERE
[The music winds down, a bridge of sorts. As it plays, a few scenes are shown, where only the characters’ silhouettes are visible, white noise covering them]
[01: A steaming kettle covers most of the foreground. In the background, Levi is seen sitting at a table, head slumped forward. Most of the table is visible, but no one else is in the frame]
[02: Arturo is seen to the left, holding a white turtle neck shirt in his hands. Behind him, an open suitcase sits on a bed, clothes splayed haphazardly around it]
[03: David stands alone on an empty stage, arms wide out. The spotlights are all on him. The entire stage and some of the front row seats are visible, with David’s silhouette only covering a small part in the center of the frame]
[04: A computer monitor covers almost the entire frame. There are countless photos and words, but they’re all too blurry to see, with the exception of a small message on top which reads “Analyzing profiles…” Whit is reflected on the screen, resting his head on one of his fists]
[05: Ace sits on a motorcycle, looking up and admiring the night sky which takes up most of the frame]
[06: Nico is crouched beside a cat, holding out a pink mouse toy for it to play with. Only their legs are visible, but there is a puddle of water under Nico]
[07: J has her palm spread out all over the screen, as if blocking the camera. There are flashes of light behind her, but the source is impossible to see]
[08: Rose sits slumped in a chair, hands on her face. All around her, dozens of canvases can be seen, painted entirely in black. Small bits of color poke out at the bottom, but no full paintings are visible]
[09: The camera is entirely focused on the top of a zither. Hu’s hand is visible, touching the strings with her plectra]
[10: Only Veronika’s footwear is visible over a dark floor. The rest of the scene is filled entirely by blood]
[11: Arei stands in front of a bathroom mirror. She’s holding the right side of her hair, the only part that’s visible. It looks very unevenly cut]
[12: Eden is holding her head in her hands, slumped over a work desk full of small machinery. Behind her are a multitude of analog clocks of various designs, all showing the same time; 6:00]
[13: Min is sitting on a chair, slumped forward and apparently collapsed over a notebook. A pen sits just beside her right hand. A bit of the writing can be seen, showing this:]
Tumblr media
[The brown part being Min's hair. Don't make fun of me I'm using Paint and have zero art skills]
[14: Xander, the focus of the shot, stands in front of a crowd, standing on a simple chair. His fist is in the air, and so are the fists of everyone in the crowd]
[15: Charles is kneeling over a grave, the name on it hidden behind the silhouette. Charles is pulling at his hair with his hands. Other graves are visible around him, but the edges of the screen are darkened and it’s impossible to see them well]
[16: Teruko’s hand is reaching out to a black figure, this one without white noise. The figure is completely non-descript, more a simple shadow than a proper silhouette. Blinding white light surrounds this figure]
UNDER No mistakes, no corrections, 100% Perfection, results shall not vary.
Min (13) wears a neutral expression, and she holds her card perfectly upright. Her pose changes only to match the exact angles actual mugshots use. Her card shows an untidy bedroom. Before the switch, she lowers her hand, and looks briefly to the side, before turning back to the camera. When she does, her left eye flashes magenta behind her hair.
UNDER Fighting for true justice, Stand strong, a reflection of the will of the many
Xander (14) is glaring at the camera, moving his card around flippantly. Said card shows a window overlooking an entire city. Xander throws the card away before throwing a punch at the screen.
UNDER Leave no room to hide, No hesitation, a chain reaction of truth unfolds
Charles (15) looks serious, if a bit annoyed as he holds up his card. It shows a laboratory table with several test tubes. He turns his back to the camera, adjusting his goggles, but gives one last, softer look behind him as the scene switches.
UNDER Or shall the secrets remain? What lies beyond the lies, armageddon untold
Teruko (16) looks at the camera with cold eyes, but a hint of a frown on her lips. Her pose never changes; unlike everyone else, her segment is one continuous shot. It starts with her holding her card at an angle such that only her face is visible on it. She closes her eyes solemnly, before finally flipping her card around so only the backside is shown. It has the Milgram logo combined with the DRDT logo. She never shows the rest of the front of the card, as the scene switches moments after.
[Pre-chorus, as the prisoners hold their hands to their mouths before a scene of them smiling plays. At the end, for a few frames, a white camellia blooms, before there’s a sudden shift in scenery as we hit the final chorus. All the prisoners’ silhouettes have a still shot each with Es, with a blood splatter always under the latter. The scene starts to focus on each individually]
[Levi’s punching Es in the face, Es thrown to the floor from the impact. Brass knuckles are barely visible on his hand. Levi’s shouting, as are all the other prisoners]
[Arturo is kneeling, facing away from Es. The latter is laying on the floor behind him in what would be a pretty uncomfortable position. Arturo is holding his head in his hands, his mouth visible from the side and open in a shout. One of Es’ shoes is off]
[David is holding Es by the neck of their shirt, shouting at their face (from now on I’ll stop clarifying that they’re shouting). The following symbol appears over where his eyes would be, glowing yellow: 正] EDIT: I forgot to mention one of Es’ shoes is off. RIP to the theorists I’m so sorry-
[Whit is pointing what looks to be a gun at Es, who is recoiling as if they’ve been shot in the heart]
[Ace is seen running, Es’ body falling to the ground beside him and twisting as if they’d been bumped into]
[Nico sits on top of Es’ back. With one of their hands, they’re grabbing onto Es’ hair and apparently pushing it forward. With the other they’re holding two ends of a wire firmly planted on Es’ neck]
[J stands normally, pointing what seems to be a remote control at Es. The latter is face-up on the floor, their limbs contorted in unnatural angles]
[Rose is standing, facing away from Es, who is kneeling and grabbing at their throat. A small jar sits beside them, the cap taken off]
[While standing, Hu is grabbing Es by the throat with both hands, blood coming from the Warden’s throat]
[Veronika is kneeling besides Es’ face-up body. Her hands are on her chest, and there is blood under her as well as the Warden. Meanwhile, Es’ limbs are contorted in unnatural ways, and one of their shoes is off]
[Arei is violently swinging a bowling ball at Es’ head, causing their body to twist around as it falls]
[Eden is standing, covering her eyes. Her right hand has a Ⅵ symbol glowing bright yellow. Es is uncomfortably laying face-up on the floor]
[Min is standing with her back turned to Es, who is kneeling on the floor and grasping at their neck. Min is shouting into a landline phone. Along her arm, an equation glows bright yellow:
ln(x³ - 2 . 13) = 0]
[Xander is grabbing Es’ shoulder, plunging a knife into their stomach]
[Es is standing neutrally, but there is still blood on the floor. A glowing yellow question mark floats above them. Charles is nowhere to be seen]
[Teruko is kneeling calmly besides Es, who is lying face-up with their hands crossed over their chest as if in a coffin. A question mark glows on Teruko's left hand. Teruko is the only prisoner besides Charles who is not screaming]
[The song winds down while a sped up and translucent version of the video plays in the background. A shadow begins growing in the middle, and for just a moment, two sharp yellow eyes stare at the camera from the center of the screen. The finale simply has Es exiting to the left as they do in canon Undercover]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And there's Undercover! How we feeling? Hope you enjoyed! Take care!

Note
I'm curious, based on the scenes from the trailers, how would YOU have written Restoration? I think, personally, I would've had Sarge be unconscious for a couple days, forcing Simmons to step up as leader without offing such a good character. I also would've kept Doc alive and had Donut, Lopez, Sheila, and Sister be part of things more.
Oh, don't curse me with that, I'm having a hard enough time with all the thoughts for my OWN story-line... OK, but honestly? There is a versions that would be "perfect for me" (and that may as well be my own story-line), and a version that would maybe be what this final season was, but just a little different-
-Imagine it actually picks up immediately after Church's final message. Like, we hear his voice again, see the same visuals, but instead of fading to black as Epsilon blinks out, there is a brief pause... and everything goes into MOTION. Tucker and the rest of the characters start fighting, and we see the whole thing!
-When the plot actually starts, nobody is together. Similar to Donut's suggestion of taking a break from each other in 17, they all went their separate ways, but when problems start to pop up, they need to regroup (Doc isn't dead, Donut is part of things)
-If Sarge has to die (in my perfect version, he doesn't, but if he HAS to), he's injured first on the Staff of Charon, OR he's been injured and out of the main focus for a bit, and he doesn't die until near the end (still gets buried in Blood Gulch, but now everybody is there). If he dies at the beginning, there would be a lot of flash-backs to some of his lines through the series, being all significant and such
-Tucker keeping the armor and being the new "Meta" can go a few different ways, actually (and 19 had the potential for all of it, it just kinda didn't push it hard enough in any of these directions)
-One version, after the fight is over, Tucker stands back from the others as he realizes Church is totally gone... and orange flames flicker in the reflection of his helmet visor. @leonardalphachurch brought up a good concept of how Sigma probably wouldn't just FORCE Tucker to do anything, but instead convince him that this is totally a good idea (and perhaps driving a wedge between Tucker and his other friends). This is a "villain" who thinks they're right (but Tucker isn't just totally "evil"). Several times, he would defeat the others, have the opportunity to kill them, but he doesn't. The AI aren't torturing him, but as time goes on, their reasoning becomes less rational, and it is a struggle to remember why they're all fighting so hard for this goal, but they can't STOP
-Epsilon Deconstructing means the Fragments lost their memories... and so did Tucker. This can go hand in had with him and the Fragments getting too focused on the only thing they "know", finding Church, being "complete". It can also roll into a DIFFERENT kind of manipulation, with a totally different antagonist intending to turn Tucker and the AI into a new murder machine (it could be Hargrove, it could the UNSC, could be somebody else. they just recognize that Tucker is an incredible fighter and the AI are very capable, so they're manipulating the situation)
-Slightly with that same vibe, the suit was always a trap; Hargrove figured either Felix of Locus would put it on, and rigged the thing to take control and follow programmed orders. The AI are trapped in it too, forced to help fight, but don't want to actually kill anybody. ALSO, if you want Felix in there; he asked Price about the whole brain-scanning stuff, and thought he'd get himself some kind of "do-over" if he had a back-up copy of his brain. So, the REAL manipulative AI is, in fact, FELIX (when the original Felix died, his suit scanned his brain one last time and sent the information to the suit, where it waited to activate). In this version, Locus is more involved, he has to help stop the computer ghost of his toxic yaoi boyfriend
-After the final fight, Tucker leaves the group to go find Junior, and when the others finally see him again, he seems like a "bad guy", attacking different UNSC soldiers. He keeps AVOIDING his friends, not because he hates them, but he specifically doesn't want them involved in this mess. The government is calling Tucker an evil villain, but he's actually just been saving different alien planets, forgotten outposts, and people like the prisoners who have been hurt by the UNSC (Tucker gets a Temple arc, except he's like... actually successful. somewhere, in another dimension, Temple is sooooo mad and jealous). Somebody tries to stop Tucker with some weird tower, but it just activates Great Destroyer Mode. The rest of his friends need to stop him without killing him
-In all versions, everybody has an eventual show-down with Tucker and the AI, Tex comes back (because that was the BEST PART), and the only reason they need to fight him and remove the AI is so everything can kind of re-set. Tucker needs to remember himself, and the AI need to re-charge and calm down (if there is a Felix AI, he gets deleted. bye, hater). Donut is the one who pulls off the big epic throw with the AI Unit; he's got an ARM (also, one way or another, a conversation between the O'Malley who is only part of Doc, and the Omega AI. it would just be fun to hear Omega say something like "Nice to see you found your back-bone")
-We still have Wash talking to people he misses, but it's the other Freelancers (and maybe a hint of the implication that, if things hadn't been so traumatic during their first meeting, this is something he could have shared with Epsilon; memories)
-Tucker gets one final recorded message from Church, so they can have a decent good-bye. Within the AI unit, Church reunites with Tex, but the Fragments are there too, everybody is finally together again. They don't destroy it; instead, Caboose gives it to Carolina, telling her "When they're ready to wake up, you can see your family again)
-In either Sarge Dies scenario, Simmons gets VERY UPSET. He either loses his temper entirely, or he gets so quiet and cold, it is very unnerving. Grif has to snap him out of it. After all the big problems settle down, and Grif gets ready to go back home with Kai, Simmons tells him good-bye... and then starts following him after a short pause. What else would he do? (I have a dozen different ways I could imagine an emotional/romantic moment, but in all seriousness? it just isn't realistic for them to go separate ways. Grif and Simmons are stuck together for all eternity. I HAVE SPOKEN)
-Happy family reunion with Tucker and Junior! Everybody else finds their own path in life, they know they can still reach out to each other again, but they all have different options now (Wash wants to go track down the Triplets, and Niner is gonna give him a lift)
There is... a LOT of other stuff, but I can't fit it all in. Anyway, some kind of "better" version of Meta Tucker that isn't just him being tortured/mind-controlled, and he gets his kid back, more of an emotional impact when it comes to losing Sarge, Grif and Simmons are stuck like glue forever, Donut and Doc get to be there... yeah

ok i have a LOT of thoughts about the last post (i'm sorry this is gonna be quite the ramble):
first off i'm very curious to know like what people's takeaways were from the conversation. do we feel like erwin was in the wrong for running away from things, do we feel like frankie was in the wrong for lashing out/making it all about her, or do we feel like neither are in the wrong and it's just an unfortunate situation on all sides?
for me, all 3 kinda hold true at the same time. my main focus with this scene was establishing that they're coming at this whole situation from different places. with everything that's happened so far, frankie still feels like it's all happening to her, an inconvenience to her, and can't really acknowledge that she's had an active role in the way things have played out.
personally i feel like erwin's retreat is justified. we know from his and frankie's earlier conversation about the history of strangerville that he's aware of the more sinister happenings but is just trying to live his life in spite of them, and acknowledges that he's actually quite scared of the roswells/biosim tech. he did take frankie to the lab, which was a big step outside of his comfort zone, but getting her to the door was as far as he was willing to go. then everything happened with jill and he got so caught up in the possibility of achieving his ufology dreams that he stopped thinking about the potential consequences. so his conversation with meredith was a bit of a reality check for him.
where he could've helped himself, though, would've been to at least try and explain what happened to frankie or cahill. but also tbh frankie especially hasn't really shown him a lot of compassion so far, so i don't totally blame him. if she had been gentler in the moment and created space for him to explain his decision, he might not have shut her out.
ok but ALSO, frankie's moment of "i need your help" is also a big step for her. even though in her mind she's still "owed" erwin's help, she can't often admit that she does have to rely on other people sometimes. bittersweet tbh that she was finally able to voice that but it didn't change erwin's mind... that probably won't help her immediate character development...

OO HONEY REQUESTS!!
may i request a gn!reader who'll sit with jade while he either works or does other stuff and listens to him ramble abt mushrooms? the reader isnt the same level of hyperfixated- just mildly interested and loves hearing jade talk, emphasis on loving jades voice www
(also i know you said no oc x oc interactions, but i wanted to ask if youd be fine doing a short kyuu and honey secret date hc from when we joked abt it- if you arent thats totally fine dear!)
DDSDGSGDHS LMAO THIS IS SO CUTE JDDHSHG
also for Honey, I decided I'd do Honeyuu x Reader (but brackets for short parts of how Honeyuu would alternatively be with Kyuu over it cuz- Kyuu my beloved- I can't resist-)
Btw, for more info of requests, you can check out here!
TWST s/o who loves to listen to them
Jade Leech
At first, Jade didn't really take much notice, simply because he was too engrossed with sharing to you all about his "fungi expertise". He was just very happy you paid close attention to him and showed genuine interest in them.
He likes to go on and on about it, in contrast to his softspoken nature that most people know (as well as that sly, sneaky and skeptic persona people can also get intimidated by-).
But the more he looked at you in the eye, the more he realized they looked rather dazed and... dreamy? He was rather curious, simply because he didn't think you'd be so in awe about his mushrooms.
He placed his terrarium bowl down, smiling teasingly at you. "My, my, I didn't know you were so 'awe-struck' by my collection and knowledge of fungi, s/o. Are you really into it, more than me? I won't lie I'm quite jealous of your burning passion, much brighter than mine it seems, fufu~"
You blinked. "Huh? I mean, I am for sure, but the way you talk and share about it is just really cute, and you sound really handsome just like that, hehe~" you smiled back, oblivious to how you made the eel feel his heart leap out.
Slowly, a blush crept up from his neck towards his cheeks, a bright pink doused his fair cheeks.
He smiles dumbfounded but regains his usual polite (just less poised) smile, and his eyes softened.
"Ah... so that's why... ", he mutters to himself. <3
Honey (Honeyuu) Ryuu
This is Honeyuu btw, they're my Yuusona! ^^
Unlike Jade, Honey's not really into fungi. They're actually way nerdier than expected (or maybe it was expected-). They love Literature, a nose stuck into a book and when they aren't, they're sharing all about the book they have recently read to someone close (such as Deuce or A*e).
With you, it's no exception. Be prepared to have Honey ramble about History class, Literature class, the books they have read, and if you're really close to them, so much lovey-dovey, cheesy romance chapters that made them squeal and kicked their legs like a crazy person on the bed.
(Kyuu: Honey would read to them their favourite chapters over key lime pie and fawn over how the chapters are so good, and they wished they were the main character who got their prince charming- they're slightly joking they love Kyuu/ S/o the most- <3)
Sometimes Honey thinks you also have similar interests with them about books, and love novels and just all the "nerdy-book stuff" A*e summarizes it as. You just looked as dazed as they were, and Honey wonders if you love them a lot, or if you're dozing off-
"Say, you always get so dreamy whenever I talk about all my books. Do you love them a lot or are you paying attention...? I- I mean, not to sound rude, I really don't have any bad intentions, it's just that, you know, you look really dazed and all, and I wonder if you're-"
"I am interested. It's just that I also love how you ramble about them and it's just really adorable and cute when you do that. Your voice makes it more charming and endearing," you smiled.
*Honeyuu.exe has stopped working*
Honey malfunctions, with their whole face turning bright red, cheeks burning out of embarrassment and fluster. "H-hey! Y-you can't just say that out of the blue like that...!" they stutter. (Kyuu: "W-WAIT- KYUU- Y-YOU- I-I- MMMHRPPHHHHHDGHDJH-") <3

I love seeing your voice claims! It's so entertaining to hear how you would envision someone's voice, even if it isn't perfect!
But now i'm curious if you have any 'themes' for the characters. Like, something that would fit while playing in the background during a scene that focuses on them.
If you don't know what im thinking about (I REALLY hope that doesn't sound condescending) Thinking of your interpenetration of Skuntank makes Groose's theme from Skyward Sword play in my head. Something like that?
:00000 !!!! A FELLOW GROOSE’S THEME SKUNTANK IMAGINER!!!
Thank you so much! I catch your drift, and it wasn’t condescending at all! I have such a hard time choosing themes for characters because I have a very specific vibe for them all in my head, but its hard to find pre-existing songs out there that check all the boxes. I tried to pick songs (specifically instrumental songs because if I went into songs with lyrics we’d be here all day) that encompassed the general “feel” of the characters well enough. However, I’ll include some notes on what I’d try to include for the characters’ themes of if I were to make them from the ground up!
Also going to hide all the links and stuff under a cut because this post got big hehe
Twig
youtube
Twig's theme would be light and peppy for the most part— a fast, jaunty tune that would be difficult to play in real life. There'd be points in it where it sounds like the musicians are struggling to keep up the pace and would fail to play the same notes as previously used— giving it a desperate element, like she's struggling to keep up with her own happy appearance. I think she'd have an acoustic guitar or mandolin as a major part of her theme, and maybe one of those toy pianos that give a very chaotic, enthusiastic vibe to songs? She'd have a stretch in her personal leitmotif that would form a beautiful melody when paired with Kip's.
Kip
youtube
Kip would have a generally happy sounding song that incorporates the ukulele and maybe ocarina. He'd have a stretch in his personal leitmotif that would form a beautiful melody when paired with Twig's.
Sen
youtube
Otherworldly voices harmonizing are a must for her, as are audio glitches disrupting and changing the flow of the melody that they're harmonizing in.
Dusknoir
youtube
Dusknoir's theme would start off proud and almost boastful sounding when he's first introduced, then turn dark and intense when he's revealed as a villain, and would finally mellow out into something mournful yet soothing to listen to. I think he'd have cellos as a major piece of it.
Celebi
youtube
Celebi’s theme would be very light and peppy— almost bouncy in sound, and definitely extremely cutesy. I can see the hum of insect wings or cicadas singing being used as a kind of atypical instrument that could be used.
Grovyle
youtube
I'm not sure about instruments for him, but he'd have a very distinct leitmotif that would start off very aggressive and erratic sounding, then be slowed and softened in a way that makes it sound almost nostalgic later on.
Ark
youtube
His theme’s instrumentation evades me— maybe a violin or clarinet? A harp? It would need to be an instrument that isn’t typically played alone. Either way, it would have several points where it would go oddly quiet and mournful. It’d be an all around very mellow, vaguely sad tune.
Cresselia
youtube
Her theme would comprise of a piano— an instrument that is largely seen as a standalone in most compositions— and would layer perfectly over Ark's to make a complete song, the quiet parts of their individual themes allowing the other to stand out when they step back.
Opal
youtube
She'd have music box-esque instrumentation for sure, and twist her parents' themes on their heads in a way that they become something unique— Twig's frantically happy notes would change key in such a way that they'd sound genuine, and Ark's quieter, melancholy stretches would be filled in by a lighter accompaniment.
This was such a fun ask hehe. I’ve always loved making pretend OSTs for my projects out of pre-existing songs, complete with alternate titles that would replace the original if the soundtrack were real— I should get back into that hobby and make a full one for TPiaG!

Can you please tell me what are the things that you like about every suitor on ikemen genjiden
Tumblr media
There are so many things I like about the characters. Let's keep their characters' designs aside for now because they are all beautiful.
Yoritomo
I'm usually not into the Cybird's 'black haired first male leads' most of the time. I like them, but they're not in my most fav character of all times (except for Ray and Yoritomo)
Yoritomo...I never really thought that I would end up loving him this much. Mostly due to the fact that his personality is wholesome.
Yoritomo is a sadistic person who loves bullying others just for fun. He enjoys making fun of and teases everyone he thinks have the cutest reactions.
But at the same time, he creates opportunity for the people around him to grow and develop. This can be seen in several instances in his route, where Yoshino would have a problem and Yoritomo would create an opportunity for her to grab instead of actually helping her. This is done so that, Yoshino becomes independent rather than relying on him all the time.
It's cute and I love it. It adds a layer of kindness to his personality that I can't help but pout and puff my cheeks because I can't get mad at him for bullying me because there is always this kindness in his teasing words.
Also his voice actor....perfect casting! I don't think anyone other than Jun Fukuyama can bring out the mean condescending as well as the caring personality of Yoritomo.
Kagetoki
I'm usually not a fan of megane characters because I think all of them act the same. They all have whips in their hand and always use 'watashi' when referring to themselves.
I just think they all are same (I may be a racist in this aspect but there are exceptions to this. I love Sasuke and Kagetoki too. I don't hate megane-s. I'm just neutral about them).
Kagetoki is a character that keeps the same sadistic aspect of what I mentioned above about all the megane characters.......but while also being hilarious.
I think I really enjoy the Kagetoki as a side character in other routes rather than a male lead. I love how hilarious this guy can be given the right timing and circumstances.
I love how on the surface he's very hard-working, talented strategist with great work ethic, strict, mean, straight faced etc etc etc... but when you learn about him on a much personal level, he's just a guy you can't take care of himself. He can't clean his room, he always needs someone besides him to remind him to eat his food or else he will die, he sucks at playing biwa but still keeps a straight-face, he destroys his food by drowning everything with his sweet syrup. This is the side that I love about him. This flawed side. This makes him look more approachable and friendly.
Morinaga
A person that I would most likely avoid irl because of his very high out-going personality is little overwhelming for me. But in-game, he's very interesting.
I think Morinaga is likeable in general because of his friendly and kind personality. He's that one guy who brings everyone together and also the guy who easily gets along with everyone.
I think Morinaga's character got a little more depth after the introduction of Sueharu. We got to see another side of Morinaga. His arrogant side.
Before Sueharu, I always thought that Morinaga is generally a good person who is always born lucky and the only bad thing about him is he is into gambling. But after Sueharu introduction, we got to see an arrogant side of Morinaga.
Morinaga is also a flawed character. Things always works for him. But on the off chance when it doesn't, he gets curious as to why it didn't go as planned. I think, this character is an example of 'don't judge a book by its cover.'
Shigehira
Our typical tsundere.
There is nothing to hate about him. He's very sweet and caring.
I also get why everyone just loves to tease him. Shigehira is such a good boy and is always serious, the other characters simply loves to annoy him to get reactions and Shigehira falls for it, all the time.
Also his attempts to look beefy like Morinaga and Benkei, is very funny.
Yoshitsune
Yoshitsune has a child-like innocent personality and I love that. Also he's voiced by Ishida Akira, who is a legend! Perfect casting! (Look, Ikegen has a pretty stacked cast of VAs. They are all perfectly casted! No doubt!! You can't change my mind!)
Yoshitsune was the one who made me download this game. I thought he was beautiful and after playing the game I was like - "This game.....is EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR!!!!" so for that, "Thank you, Yoshi."
Another fact that I learned about Yoshitsune is that, this guy has a major inferiority complex towards his brother. He keeps comparing himself to Yoritomo because he looks up to him and wants to be like him. And Yoritomo has to constantly tell him to not be like him and appreciate his own qualities.
I also like the fact that, Yoshitsune is the only one who can bring out Yoritomo's vulnerable side all the time. No one else, not even Yoshino can make Yoritomo feel vulnerable and weak. It's only Yoshitsune. Another layer of complexity in their relation, which I adore!! It feels like their relationship is genuinely special rather than just another pair of brothers.
Benkei
There is nothing much complex about Benkei's character. What you see, is what he actually is.
He's very likable. He very caring about everyone. He cooks food, takes care of you if you're sick, very straightforward....perfect husband material. His overprotective trait is also cute.
Yoichi
According to me, I think the reason why Yoichi is so interesting and loveable, has to be because of his VA. I think Ryouta Suzuki is a very talented voice actor. He actually made Yoichi very cute and charismatic at the same time that it's crime!
I am a person, who despise characters that talks in 3rd person with a passion. I find them incredibly annoying in japanese, it's 10 times awkward and annoying when translated to english and it sounds so fake! But Yoichi......All credit goes to his VA! He made this character very lovable.
I think Yoichi's charm point is that he's an old man who is very sarcastic and carefree about everything while also being cute and not annoying. Yoichi is like an old man in young man's body. He's 30, but people always makes fun for his baby face. Yoichi speaks in 3rd person, but it's done in away as if he is mocking himself for being cute. His VA delivers that tone perfectly.
If you look at the VAs interviews, Ryouta Suzuki said that he had tried different voices for Yoichi from cute to a much more manly one and in the end he settled with the tone we have in-game. It's perfect. I think no one can be as cute and as manly as Yoichi. That's his identity. I don't think any other character can have the same charm without being annoying.
Sueharu
I never thought I would end up liking Sueharu so much. I don't like characters who are categorized as 'flirts' because they're kinda cringe. Everytime I see a flirt male lead flirting with mc, I roll my eyes hard because I just don't really fall for it and I don't understand why is mc blushing.
Sueharu's flirting is kinda cringe and a little too cheesy....but instead of rolling my eyes, like I usually do, I end up chuckling. Like a small chuckle. As if I've given up. I've surrendered!
I don't know why, I just feel Sueharu is very innocent-looking. Especially when he smiles. You can't convince me otherwise! Sueharu has the best smile!
Also after playing his route, I learned so much about him which is good. I'm happy that they kept so much locked behind his main route rather than throwing hints here and there.
Overall, Sueharu is pretty interesting character in general, who also gave depth to Morinaga's character.
Yasuchika
I kid you not! I hated this character so much at the beginning of this game! Before the 3 new male leads were introduced, Yasuchika was the main antagonist of this game and he was annoying af!
Very annoying that I was so sure that I wasn't going to play his route when it comes out even if his backstory is sad. That's how much I hated this character. But..........cybird slapped me right in the face for thinking that.
Cybird introduced Akihito and that right there was the only thing that needed to redeem Yasuchika's character. Akihito's introduction, saved Yasuchika's character (at least for me, I don't know what the other players thought)
Introduction of Akihito and his relation with Yasuchika, really made sense for Yasuchika's actions. Before this, Yasuchika kept doing evil things just because. There was no real reason and it was very frustrating to see him all the time when he shows up. But now after Akihito and knowing their backstory, I started really liking Yasuchika as a character. Their relationship plus Ibuki, is so twisted but charming at the same point, it's like the game is at it's peak! It's really beautiful and one of the reasons why I highly recommend people to play this game! I can see that the writers really gave it their all when coming up with their story and it's also one most liked backstory by the JP players as well. It really redeemed Yasuchika and now, all I see his fanart on X. Yet I still don't get why he's not No. 1 during the anniversary election.
Akihito
I have already said everything about this man. I love him!!!! I LOVE HIM in general!!!
I love him because he's so handsome!
I love him because he's so elegant!
I love him because he's so sophisticated.
I love him because he's so mischievous!
I love him because he's so evil!
I love him because of his backstory with both Yasuchika and his dad!
I love his chemistry with Yoshino!
I love his route!
I love that he made a deal with the Demon King!
I love that his hair turns blonde!
I love that he can use thunder in addition to Kotodama!
I love that he's the Emperor!
I love that he can play drums and Ibuki dances to it!
I love that we can write poems!
I love that he has a bird named Ruri and she's blue!
I love that he climbs roofs and jumps on trees while wearing that elegant long ass kimono that collects dusts from floor!
I love his awkward relationship with Yasuchika!
I also love his voice actor! Perfect casting!!!!
Tamamo
Tamamo is beautiful. I know that, but like Kagetoki, I love Tamamo as a comic relief character more than a male lead.
He's mischievous, he likes food, he causes chaos around the household if he gets bored, he sometimes transforms into a mommy to sabotage Yoritomo's important meetings and seduce the guests for no reason, he hates dogs especially Azukichi. I love how he knows the fact that he is beautiful and always flexes his beauty in front of everyone. I also love scenes where he gather people to join his 'Yoshino's Chastity Protection Squad' and Shigehira is a member by default.
I really enjoy Tamamo in other male lead's route rather than his own.
Kurama
I love Kurama because he is an example of 'You cannot use your own childhood trauma or abuse as a justification for abusing someone else'.
I've seen fictional characters where they are like 'I can't stop myself from hurting you because I was abused by my mother/father when I was a kid.' I hate this trope! There is no justification for violence no matter what.
Kurama is a very complex character to understand. He does what he likes. He says what he thinks and doesn't care if it gives the other person the wrong impression. But he never uses his abuse by Ibuki as a justification for his cruel actions.
He's also a character who doesn't really lingers in the past. Yes! The memories are still there back in his head, but he doesn't let that bother him. He moves on. He makes friends, now he has his own family, and kids to care about.
This what I really like about Kurama as a character. He's very well written character after the Imperial Court Trio.
Ibuki
I love the fact that the writers didn't hold back with this character. Ibuki is irredeemably evil and he doesn't hold back anything!
The writers created what a real demon would look like! That's Ibuki. Yet, despite being irredeemable, I liked Ibuki when he did evil things but I hated Yasuchika when he was the first main antagonist of the game. I feel like it was because Yasuchika's actions didn't have a reasoning and that's why he was so frustrating to watch, but Ibuki on the other hand, was meant to be evil from the very beginning.
At the same time, the writers gave Ibuki a silver lining...he has a heart. Ibuki doesn't give a shit about the world, but he only cares those one or two people who he loves. Ibuki don't care if the world rots away. He will only care if Akihito, Yasuchika, Yoshino, Kurama, Seimei or his demon clan dies. Heck! He would even choose them over the world!
That's why I like Ibuki despite him being a complete villain.

I shall henceforth and forevermore ramble about the Thunderhead.
Chapter 30 of Scythe is our first proper introduction. Until that point it's just a vague background concept, rather mysterious but undoubtedly pivotal. In chapter 28, we get this:
"Citra Terranova, said a voice both powerful yet gentle. Citra Terranova, can you hear me?
Who's that? Is someone there?
Curious, said the voice. Very curious..."
I love the vagueness and anticipation that Neal Shusterman leaves to simmer for a while. In book one we're getting familiar with the Scythedom's side of things, then as the series progresses we pan out into the entire world with the Thunderhead and the experience is just dazzling. That's the only way I can describe reading it. It literally feels like meeting God.
The Thunderhead's first proper appearance is its conversation with deadish Citra, and we learn all about its personality in one brief chapter. Here's where it becomes a living, complex character. Its voice is so distinct and we're hooked right from the start. It's actually kind of pompous in announcing its presence and making her play "guess who," which I'm thinking it does because that's what she'd expect from it. Authoritative, wise, even mystical.
As the conversation goes on, it's blunt and clever with the exposition, the loopholes, its opinions. It treats Citra like they're on an even playing field and it respects her. It subtly scolds her for pushing that girl in front of a truck, displaying its omniscience and gentle judgement.
The beach ball thing is so funny and adds lightness to an otherwise intense scene. The Thunderhead has quirks and humour, if only hinted at here. "Early programming plagues me like a vestigial tail." I'm going to make a separate post on that.
It expresses its grievances with the state of its existence, albeit watering that down significantly. It doesn't want her to know just how uncertain and frightening things really are, because the whole point of this conversation is that it wants her to have hope. Citra compares it to her mother, which it sidesteps. We all know that parents aren't always correct, and the Thunderhead knows that too. It will not confront the terrifying possibility of being anything but correct. "I know no other way to be."
"The curb is the launching point for many a deed." I love that line because it sets up everything that's soon to happen with Greyson, whom it definitely kicks to the curb in book two. This line hints at how it makes the best of every unfortunate situation. Clouds with silver linings, and such.
"I'm sure you could arrange it." THIS is hilarious. There's the snark. There's the sass. It insults her and then it just ditches her, all the while it's been bringing her back from the dead. Literally performing a miracle. It's like the equivalent of a doctor chewing gum and talking on the phone mid-surgery, completely unfazed. I feel like Citra's not the type to be begging it not to leave, but I sure would be.
The fact that Citra later refers to this experience as "a moment of great awe" reminds us that scythes are human. Fallible. Perhaps even inferior.
It's also funny to see the difference in how the Thunderhead treats Rowan later when he's in the same situation. You can tell that it favours him less than Citra. It doesn't dislike him, because it loves and understands everybody, but it's quicker to get to the point, less gentle, identifying itself right off the bat and adapting itself to Rowan's personality. Rowan knows it will forgive his rudeness.
Also, you know, we learn that the Thunderhead can, you know, reach into people's brains. I'm sure that little talent won't become vitally important later.
Overall this scene is fantastic and the Thunderhead owns my soul goodnight.

Poppy in Poppy play time.
It's about time that I talked about something different. Today, I am going to be talking about the little doll Poppy, and give my thoughts about what I think about her, and what I think she'll do, in the fourth chapter. At first, Poppy looked like a creepy doll, that looked like to be an antagonist.
Just with her voice lines. It's in between of, I believe that she's helping us, but at the same time it looks like that she's using us. With what? At the end of chapter 2, when she took you to the train, and left you. It appeared to be 'Betrayal.' And she looked evil back at those chapters.
But, now in Chapter 3, she's appearing to be okay. Her ark, seems to be taken to another turn. She's given a bigger role with Kissy. It say's that Kissy Missy is the beacon in Poppy Playtime co.
And she seems quite friendly. But, she can still get aggressive. Even with Kissy, she seems to be a child almost. Almost innocent, and curious.
One thing I hope to say, to prevent Poppy from being evil, or being the final antagonist. 2 things actually...Is the founders.
So, I'm updating my theory to add this as further info. I was listening to the characters lines, that there's more to this evil, with evil people than this doll. Both of which, designed the monsters.
One of them designed the Prototype, and the other one designed the cat monster, Catnap. There is so much more going on. And they may be working together, their child factory is so fishy. One of the founders name is:
.Harley Sawyer.
and
.Lieth Pierre.
Harley Sawyer is the guy who created the Prototype. Lieth Pierre is the guy that created Cat Nap, or is in charge of him. And is keeping him as a wild animal, than all the other critters. And theatrically modified the red smoke into him.
I don't know much info about it, I'm just going with what I believe. And I believe, that they both are the true master minds that crafted the red smoke to trap children.
And use a cat, that most kids find cute, to lure them in, and gain their trust. That's what Catnap is used for, at the surface. That's why you see this huge play den in there, when you walk out of the cabin.
And by the sounds of it, Lieth does not care about the wellbeing of Catnap. He has a built in labyrinth for him, similar to how Dogday is being kept in, and was treating him, as if he's just as an experiment.
What makes his case unique is that Catnap has a real name Theodore. Otherwise known as 'Theo' His full name is Theodore Grambell. That name sounds friendly, for a Goblin wearing a bell. And he's kind of a pet to him. No wonder Catnap is so hostile.
Furthermore, it makes Catnap's name appeal to be a normal person's name almost. Whereas you have the other experiment names be, more like Nick name, pronunciations such as "Huggy Wuggy." "Kissy Missy." "Candy cat." ect. Than the very few that sound like offical names such as "Bron." The dinosaur, and "Poppy". The doll.
With Catnaps case, A.K.A 'Theo'. With his treatment, and role has some significant Importance with it. It has a lot of lore with him.
Which also extends the idea, with the more hostile creatures, back to "Huggy Wuggy." being treated like they are brainless monsters, this gives aother light, to how the monsters are being treated by the founders. With no good care.
They trap them, and release them to cause havoc. Like the others. They're probably getting the similar miss treatment, just differently to each monster. But all of which, not with care. Indeed abusive. With out a doubt. Especially with Poppy as well.
And here comes the second thing. With Poppy, yes her dialogues sound like, that she's up to something. But hearing it in her voice when she says that she wants to get revenge, and free everyone.
Even with that her dialogue sounds promising. I feel like maybe she shouldn't turn on us. Then on the other hand, it's like it's still in between, because she needs us.
Although, seeing the dynamic between her and Kissy. Is the reason why, I kind of don't want her to turn on us. She clearly has a concern for us. But don't make the right decisions. So, I am already reading into her as a flaw character, but don't really mean any bad intentions.
I'm believing that she is trying to help us. But, at the same time there is some skeptical feeling about her, with what she's going to do next. So far, she seems to be ok. She does have a concern for us.
And she does have a concern for Kissy, and have a deep connection to her, that I think that it would go down this road of Poppy, actually becoming the one that genuinly want's to help.
If the developers write here to do that. Which also gives me a reason, because she's been locked up. And referring back to the founders, they're likely to have treated her like that.
And it is proven, that some of the experiments are not dangerous. That, if she stays true to her word. Then the developers will have to write her, accordingly into genuinely helping to stop the Prototype. And rescue Kissy.
It is a good thing that some people are saying that, they hope to see Poppy NOT become the villain. Because of her connection with Kissy. There's something innocent about it.
And it's rare to have a doll, trustworthy in horror games. Poppy would be the very first savior, just like what Dogday said, to save the Play toy factory. Ever.
If she stays true to her word. This connection with her, and Kissy being written. It is deeper. Which helps to add on. That if her ambitions were to be evil, now changed because of this connection.
Is why I think, maybe Poppy is not evil, and not going to be used as the villain. Because so far, she's being written to find vengeance. That's what I think.

Observations from Element episode 1:
Eichi and Natsume's convo from the beginning is just repurposed from Element's epilogue but it still gives my brain something to chew on. The antagonism between them is really amusing. I may have screamed when Tsumugi walked in.
I now come to realise that Enstars dialogue comes off as noticeably more unhinged when spoken aloud.
Seeing how plain the Yumenosaki mob students look I think Hiyori calling Tsumugi "mob character-kun" is more than a little harsh.
Ishikawa's voice for Tsumugi has become more emotive over the years but the difference is really noticeable here. Not that its a bad thing; doubling down on the excessive, forced cheeriness was the right call for 2nd year Tsumugi imo. I can't wait till we get to hear some of his signature lines, personally looking forward to "no matter what people chat about the brain has the same chemical reaction"
Tsumugi's excitement over Eichi saying they're friends was an addition and I was not emotionally prepared for tbh.
This was cut in the 2019 anime too iirc but I was a little sad that Tsumugi's "I'm curious about the kid named Sakasaki" spiel was cut. I can live with it but I think Tsumugi being shown to have an interest in Natsume before they actually meet again gives their childhood connection more weight.
The book Wataru is reading is called 『夏の国』 (Summer Country), if this is a real book I couldn't find it. Something perhaps of note is that the kanji for summer (夏) is in Natsume's name (夏目)
I really dig the vibes of the secret room, it seems so chill.
Natsume going on about the state of Yumenosaki or whatever the fuck and Wataru responding with "hey Natsume-kun you'd look really cute in girl's clothes" made me giggle. I assume this adaptation will give more attention to Natsume's insecurities about not being taken seriously? Considering that its also a surprisingly well-chosen first interaction between Natsume and another Oddball.
The Faust name-drop almost gave me a heart-attack. I hadn't even considered that Rocket Start would be adapted at all. (I didn't catch a lick of what Wataru said so I didn't notice it was Rocket Start until right then). Apparently HappyEle requested for certain things to be included, makes me wonder if Natsume comparing Wataru to Faust was one of those...
Seeing the scene where Tsumugi finds the secret room from Natsume's POV means that Tsumugi's line where he's like "zomg what if there are students doing drugs down there?!?! 0-0" had no chance of being included (rip). Which is a shame because its the second funniet thing in all of Element. The funniest is Eichi's Marie Antoinette kinnie mother.
I had a good time :)

round two, this time with a clear theme: 6, 7, 34, 35, 58, 69 for minah + dai!
I see we're going fishin' // get to know my d&d characters
6. which party member do they relate to the most?
MINAH — to be honest, I don't think she really relates to anyone. I guess she and rhydian are both in the Maladjusted Rogues With Dead Dads club, but she doesn't really see herself in him (or vice versa). every now and then riya reminds her of her younger self, but minah's so far from that person that it's not exactly relating. being haunted, maybe. DAICHI — unfortunately mr. ozy "cinematic parallels" mandias. for all that there are parts of ozy that daichi fundamentally doesn't get, there are also parts of him that are intimately familiar. same sides of opposite coins, maybe.
7. which party member do they understand the least?
answered!
34. which party member do they go to in a crisis?
MINAH — imagine minah going to anyone in a crisis. imagine how terrible a crisis it would have to be for minah to willingly reach out to someone about it. I want to say leo because he's team dad (and they're training buddies!) but if it were really bad enough for her to reach out, I think she'd talk to cian. she'd want a thoughtful response and discretion, and in her opinion cian's the best person to go to for both those things. DAICHI — it's unlikely dai would single one person out if he were in a crisis (tbh it's unlikely daichi would go to anyone at all without doing some serious crisis-thinking about it himself first) but if it had to be just one person, it would be zaref. boyfriend privilege. (never mind that zaref's advice tends to be a big question mark.)
35. which party member do they worry for?
MINAH — rhydian. not that other party members haven't exhibited concerning behaviors (riya getting charmed by a demon, leo breaking people's fingers) but rhydian is a) just a little guy and b) seems to be actively trying to deal with something he has no handle on and she's equal parts worried for and about him. plus she likes him. rogue solidarity! (honorable mention to cian, who is also just a little guy and also increasingly traumatized. sorry for the murders buddy) DAI — all of them. it's in his job description. if he had to single anyone out, probably scratch — she puts her heart on the line most often, which leaves her most easily hurt. (honorable mention to zaref in any situation where he has to make a WIS save. rip my guy and his negative mod)
58. what do they think their role in the party is? what is their role in actuality?
MINAH — she really doesn't see herself as having any particular role. if she had to pick something, she'd probably point towards her experience with the troupe (traveling, performing, going abroad, engaging in some light crime) and consider herself one of the more traveled/worldly members of the party and a voice of reason/advice in that particular arena. in actuality she's Miss Pockets with the sticky fingers and the Items. (tbh I'm not sure what her role actually is. she's just hanging out and being evasive.) DAI — he considers himself the responsible one. not that the rest of the party can't be responsible, that's just the role he's always filled and the one he defaults to. (post-abyss he's much worse at this. he's out of practice.) in reality... I mean, regardless of everything else he's still the healer. he's got that to fall back on
69. how would they describe their party members?
MINAH — as a collective: skilled, curious, in over their heads cian: quiet. kind of soft. he's a little too green for this (though after the last fight she's thinking maybe she is too, so who is she to judge). immensely empathetic. kind of a mystery. leo: team dad! generally a steady and stabilizing presence, except that the ease of his violence scares her. he reminds her a bit of alesso — big and at ease and approachable with something hard inside to watch out for. an excellent cook. rhydian: awkward. young. skilled and sharp and an excellent shot, but still so young. kind of a fucked up little dude (affectionate). riya: blindly privileged, which is often annoying. impressive in a fight. powerful but sad and maybe a little lonely. she can be amusing sometimes. dedicated and driven when she cares to be. nanna: the very best DAI — as a collective: prone to getting overinvested in other people's business. bane of governments everywhere dobin: sooo smart. bright. dedicated and hard working. a bit of a mystery. ozy: kind of a mess. old and experienced and worldly but not necessarily wiser for it. a tragic figure but not pitiable. adrift. sly and charming when he cares to be. impressive in a fight. strong and stubborn. admirable, despite everything. there's still a part of daichi that sees him as someone to learn from. scratch: the biggest heart of anyone he knows. meddling. emotionally-driven. curious, smart. incredibly stubborn (sometimes a little annoying about it). fundamentally a good person down to her core. not the greatest artist but she sure does try. zaref: stoic. strong. funnier than you might expect. charming. patient. hot ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Why is he your favorite VA for Wesker?
Tbh the first time I heard him in game I thought he was Krauser. Like he’s just been stripped of personality in every aspect, voice, appearance, acting, etc.
He sounds like every other wannabe Batman video game character. I’ve heard the whole ‘well he sounded like a bond villain in 5’ and yes he might’ve but it was funny and memorable and now his voice just sounds so forgetful and generic.
but im curious to hear your opinions
i've been asked this question like five different times (almost as many times as i've been asked about lily gao), and i'm just. tired of the question because i'm tired of people looking at wesker in a vacuum. wesker doesn't exist in a vacuum. wesker exists in a series called resident evil.
idk if you've noticed, but RE isn't going for "funny" in the Remakes anymore. bond villain wesker worked in OG because that was the tone that the series was trying to strike to begin with. it's not trying to strike that tone anymore. so anyone who wants him to go back to being a bond villain wants him to stick out among the cast in a really bad way and feel out of place.
i've said this before, but when i first heard craig's voice come in over ada's radio, i got hit really fucking hard with HOLY SHIT THAT'S WESKER. THAT'S THE MOST WESKER THAT WESKER HAS EVER BEEN HOLY FUCK.
you thought he sounded like krauser for the same reason that i immediately knew he was wesker:
menace.
krauser always had a menace factor to him, but wesker didn't. this goes back to the whole "wesker shouldn't be funny anymore" thing. wesker is The Big Villain of the series. he should be menacing. we should feel scared of him -- or, at the very least, he should make us anxious and/or uncomfortable. he's not a morally gray "hero of someone else's story" villain. he is a menacing villain who gets off on psychologically torturing the heroes.
and that's why i always didn't like the bond villain approach to him in the first place. there was always something very sinister about wesker that got lost in translation because he sounded so fucking goofy.
it's not lost anymore.
craig carries a level of tension through his performance that makes it sound like he's always five seconds from snapping, and he does it in a very calm way, so you really have no way of knowing when he's going to pop off and raise his voice. you have no way of knowing when he's going to get violent, because he sounds like he's constantly skirting right along the edge of it.
and it's a good choice for wesker because wesker's particular brand of sinister has always had a sexual component to it, and sex and violence are very closely related psychologically. like i said, wesker gets off on chris's angst and jill's suffering. he now finally sounds like someone who would.
and on top of all of that, craig also has a very... i like to say he has a "radio voice" in his performance of wesker. it's deep and smooth-sounding and very breathy at times; if he were to be given a radio show, people would listen to it just because they'd enjoy listening to him talk. that's also fitting for wesker, because we know that wesker lived a double life for about 20 years.
i can't see dc douglas wesker charming his way into jake's mom's panties, because he's such a ridiculous human being. he always has some snide lilt to his voice. he's just barely this side of snidely whiplash. if he told me i looked beautiful, i'd be like "lol so how much money do you need to borrow?" but if craig burnatowski wesker told me i looked beautiful, i'd probably get the dokis, just because his voice is smoother and he sounds more serious overall.
the same principle applies to him betraying STARS. peter jessop did a fairly good job with wesker, but i couldn't see dc douglas or richard waugh wesker as a leader to look up to, because, again, they're both skirting the line of snidely whiplash. it'd be like "oh, there's a traitor in STARS? couldn't be the guy who sounds like a fucking cartoon villain, could it?"
like. get dc douglas and richard waugh out of your head. stop thinking about them and just look at wesker's lines of dialogue written out on paper. craig captures the character's voice better. he just does. and if you think it makes him sound "generic" then chances are you don't like wesker as a character as much as you think you do.
and now i never want to answer this question again lmao

hey who the fuck is that guy and where is FeMC
(i think there is actually a mod to swap FeMC in and I might install that)
ALSO
WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON WHEN YOU SLEEP ON THE COT IN THE VELVET ROOM
WHO'S FUCKING VOICE IS THAT
anyway
Tumblr media
oh man ryuji does it? i guess we should split up and start searching
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SO INTERESTINGLY you cannot finish a Palace in a single day because the Treasure will not manifest until you inform the target you are coming after their treasure. Then it takes true form and you can yoink it.
So the motley crue need to send Kamoshida a calling card to inform him they're gonna gank him.
Tumblr media
oh okay that's pretty neat that it shows you all you accomplished
Tumblr media
oh my god this menu
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
another thing that should have been translated
Ryuji writes the card and everyone gives him shit for it. I think it's fine, personally. he's a teenager, what do you expect. also I'm glad the newspaper clippings of characters to make a letter is a universal thing lmao.
Tumblr media
oh my god the fucking throne room has a boob ceiling. i don't mean to kinkshame and i think everyone's sexuality is their own but once you get to boobs jutting out of the ceiling in your mind palace, maybe you're thinking about sex a lil too much. just a thought.
Tumblr media
FOR A MOMENT I THOUGHT THEY'D HAVE TO PHYSICALLY CARRY THE HUGE CROWN BACK TO THE SAFE ROOM that'd be funny imo
alas no it's boss time
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is an Adachi-ass argument right here and I like it. The way he turns everyone who was complicit into the Real Villain, that's good stuff.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
bruh you gonna turn me sex negative, what are you doing
Oh man I missed grabbing context for this but there was a secret room in the Palace with a fucked up torture shrine to Shiho. so like Princess Ann is Kamoshida's right hand girl, but he had like.... feelings? for shiho? which I guess manifested as her getting the worst of his abuse.
Tumblr media
So her cognitive copy shows up to help him and it's supremely messed up and i hate this guy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ann faces off with him and has a golden opportunity to kill him, but refrains so he'll confess to his crimes. Which: gorl. Damn. You are strong as hell, I am not certain I would be able to do the same in your shoes. Ann is great.
Taking the treasure, the team gets the fuck out of there but WEIRD THING HAPPENS on the way out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
While the Palace collapses, everyone runs for it, but Morgana turns back into a cat????
HMM
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Morgana only kind of knows how the Metaverse works frankly
and it so reminds me of Teddie, who understood for himself how the TV World worked, but didn't really know enough to figure out the broader picture of the real world and TV world interacting.
Morgana is convinced that they're a human and if they do the right thing in the Metaverse, they will regain their lost body and memories.
I am starting to think that's not the case and this is similar to how Teddie grew a humanboy body when he wanted to join the real world. Is Morgana a denizen of the Metaverse who subconsciously decided to grow a cat body to interact with Reverie and co?
Rise and Teddie made it clear there is no such thing as a true self, so I am curious what Morgana determines themself to be.
ANYWAY THAT'S THE FIRST PALACE DONE, WHOO. Now I have, like, 12 days to fuck around and do what I like.

can u explain scotpru to me? i’m very curious about this ship
Oh I would be HAPPY to lmao
So scotpru (for me) started because of a gereng rp I did with a friend ages ago that had both Gilbert and Alasdair as characters.
Keep in mind I'm not much on the historical side of hetalia so I can't speak on reasons to ship them re: concrete historical potential trading or connections the people may have had.
BUT, that being said, when it comes to nationverse, Gilbert and Alasdair both are somewhat older nations who have seen and experienced a lot of the world. They have quite a rough (and often annoying) exterior to their younger brothers, but at the same time have a genuine and warmhearted love for certain cultural aspects that they cultivate and put pride in. Both share a love of handcrafted pieces, whether they're old engraved weapons or woodworked furniture or illuminated manuscripts, they put value in creating something yourself and putting in the time and effort to learn that skill.
In my eyes, they connect via old tales of the world and the other nations when they were younger, as well as clashing in the kitchen in a positive, poking fun kind of way. Scotland cooks more often, Prussia bakes more often (which Scotland doesn't complain about at all, who would when they're getting served sweets?)- though Scotland's cooking style is much messier and "intuition" based versus Prussia's meticulous recipe notes and measuring and cleaning practices. And oh, they love to work on projects together that can utilize both their strengths- it's kind of one of their love languages in a way.
Also, Scotland's voice matches Prussia's flute perfectly, and both of them adore hearing the other play. It's soothing. They love the outdoors and often go camping or out on daytrips into the countryside where no one else will hear them play together, like a personal little show they put on for their ears only.
Beyond concrete interests that are similar, Alasdair and Gil also seek out each other in the sense that, because they have these sorts of connections with each other, they can find comfort in each other. They know how the other grew up, they've seen them grow and change over the years. They don't have to put on the strong unaffected persona with each other when they're alone. Gilbert appreciates that Alasdair doesn't treat him any different after being dissolved- doesn't look at him with barely-held back pity and annoyance. And Scotland knows that despite being the eldest and supposedly having all his shit together, when he feels like everything is falling apart he can come to Gilbert, who will put aside his usually abrasive front to welcome Alasdair with open arms. They learn to open up emotionally and trust each other. Neither are the best with words, though Alasdair is worse imo, and so they're able to pick up on each other's nonverbal cues and signs of affection that others might not note. And I do just like Gilbert's explosive energy next to Alasdair's slightly more laid-back vibes.
I feel like it's one of those relationships where neither actually said "I love you" for a very long time, it was just mutually understood that they shared a bond with each other that they didn't feel with anyone else.
Humanverse and other aus have similar notes to them- in my mind they often meet at say, a bar or pub, or even perhaps at daycare while dropping of their siblings depending on the au, and begin connections through some mix of love of history, music, baking and cooking, crafting, and/or just the fact that both can often feel like outsiders in their current community, and said relations bloom from there.
Anyway I love them so so much and I hope this messily-worded collection of thoughts helps convey why ehee
