ok i'm rapidly losing hope that Tech is still alive, and this sucks because it was basically the top thing i desperately wanted from this season. i wanted to see him survive. so here's my exhaustive and embarrassingly long list of reasons why he SHOULD still be alive, and if he isn't, why it was a missed opportunity. obviously no hate to the writers or anything, i love them dearly for creating this show!!!
(if you're a "Tech should stay dead for the stakes/so someone in SW stays dead for once/i hate delusional Tech stans" person, kindly keep scrolling, this ain't for you)
SEASON 2:
right from the start, Romar connects with Tech and calls himself "a survivor." HELLO???
in this same arc, Tech breaks his leg in a fall which he survives. he continues to walk on it, fighting off troopers to save Echo & Omega, showcasing his persistence and grit.
one of Phee's first lines is "better late than dead," and we know she shares a connection with Tech. she flirts with him later in this scene. it would be a shame not to reuse this line, i'm just saying....
Cid still owes Tech for racing for her in Faster. we see Cid looking miserable as she betrays the batch in Plan 99, so her playing a part in his rescue/comeback would be a nice way to show her growth. (i'm afraid there isn't enough time for this, though- as much as i thought a Cid redemption was on the horizon!)
Phee and Tech's departure is awkward, and although we have some context from season 3 (they talked more than we realized), the scene would do best if reconciled in person imo. it felt like it was setting up for something, and feels weird to leave hanging.
"don't go running off with any pirates or smugglers" could not have just been a throw away line. it set up for him to do exactly that. how fitting would it be if pirates or smugglers actually did manage to pick him up before the empire made it to the railcar crash site?
Hemlock's retrieval of the goggles shows that he sent a team to look through the wreckage. he thought there was a chance Tech survived, and may have him.
i won't go into the logistics, but big falls ARE survivable. in star wars especially. we have no idea what was below the layer of clouds/mist Tech fell through.
SEASON 3:
this is mostly CX-2 centric. their armor is very similar: the jaw/mouth shape, the hexagons over the ears, the rectangles on the chest, and the pouches/pockets.
"domicile." that is all.
CX-2 uses technology more than the other operatives we've seen, and he gets past the encryption on Phee's ship with ease.
"who are you?" was enunciated in the exact same way Tech says it to Trace and Rafa, which i definitely think was intentional.
CX-2 stops to use his rifle scope in the exact same spot where Tech and Phee stood to let down the ladders in the sea surge on Pabu.
he survives a waterfall plunge on Teth, which appears to have fooled Rex's group into thinking he'd died. the writers could have killed him off there and sent a new operative, but they chose to stick with CX-2 pursuing them to Pabu.
it's worth noting that while this CX is designated as "2," Tech's CT number is CT-9902. he is associated with the number even on a visual level: he's a dual-wielder, he wears goggles, he salutes with two fingers.
FROM A STORY PERSPECTIVE:
firstly, i am sorry and i LOVE the writers, but if you want people to accept a character's death, you've got to show his family and friends' grief. we saw no reaction from Crosshair or Phee, no tears from Hunter or Echo. it feels like fans were sadder about Tech's death than the characters in the story.
Tech seems to have been mentioned more in the second half of season 3 than the first half, which works if they want to bring him back in the finale.
the finale is called "The Cavalry Has Arrived." i really don't think you can have the cavalry (aka the bad batch) arrive without every member present. i also don't think it would feel right to play their theme without Tech there. idk, that feels incomplete!
we saw no body, and Hunter received Tech's goggles not from a trusted ally or friend, but from Hemlock. this calls into question the legitimacy of his claim that the goggles were "all he could salvage."
Tech alive and being held on Tantiss would provide a nice parallel to Echo in the first mission where we meet the batch, in TCW. and [ep 14 SPOILERS] we see that Echo is currently looking more like his TCW self, with his earpiece removed.
feels kinda sour that a character who a lot of people related to as neurodivergent representation would die just a few episodes after having a deep conversation with his sister about it.
likewise (and as a white woman i can't speak for WOC), from what i have seen, Black women are rarely the main love interest of a series! Phee is the ONLY love interest in this whole show, and it would suck to just cut off that romance before it could really become something. a lot of people wanted to see TechPhee become canon.
CX-2 is the one who destroys the marauder. it works well storywise for its pilot to have been the one to do that- the person who worked so hard modifying it, flying it, and teaching his sister to fly it. i'll be lowkey pissed if it turns out some random dude blew it up.
it's also CX-2 who invades and sets fire to Pabu. this is emotionally gripping on its own, but if he is Tech, it's even more so.
we have no idea what the operatives go through. Crosshair isn't telling, but it clearly put him in a really bad place. if Tech underwent this conditioning in his post-fall injured state, there's a chance he could come back from it. Emerie is probably the key to this, if they take the CX-2 route.
this show is all about a family trying to stay together as the Empire desperately tries to rip them apart. seeing the whole family together again - even if not everyone survives - in the finale is the satisfaction that the show ideally would go for. the last time they were all together was the season 1 finale. that was about 2 years ago in the show's timeline.
leaving Crosshair and Tech's final interactions be where they parted on the Kamino platform also feels off. Tech was the one who really vocalized the need to rescue Crosshair in season 2's finale. Crosshair, in the meantime, has changed significantly as a person. Tech's comment about Crosshair being "severe and unyielding," and unable to change this facet of his nature, is incorrect. leaving Tech dead would mean that he never gets to see this change in Crosshair, which makes me feel like a deflated balloon.
FROM MY SELFISH PERSPECTIVE!!!
give me Tech with cool scars and slightly disheveled longer hair. this is such a good opportunity for the creators to give him a sweet new look!
we never got to see Tech without his goggles on, despite Phee constantly referring to his eyes. he definitely doesn't have them right now (they're in the Archium), so we could get Mister Big Brown Eyes if he's alive. it's another missed opportunity if not, imo!
the goggles being placed in the Archium was a beautiful scene that makes me tear up whenever i think about it. it's symbolic, it's bittersweet, and it's exactly where the goggles belong. but was it closure for me? not really.
Tech is a character who became a LOT of people's favorite in season 2, including my own. why kill off a fan-favorite with an entire season to go?
yes, i desperately want a Rex and Echo series. yes, i want the batch to cameo in it, and yes... that includes Tech. making up for lost season 3 Tech content 😎
the finale will feature the zillo beast, and Tech loves the zillo beast. FREE HER! REUNITE THEM! he would love to witness her rampage.
FROM A "SURPRISE!!!!!" PERSPECTIVE
it seems like most people think Tech is either CX-2 or dead. it would be a great finale twist if we DID get CX-2's identity, it's NOT Tech, the audience loses hope, and then he shows up. i think this is actually plausible given the other assassin schematics Hemlock was looking at in Point of No Return. Tech might be in Hemlock's grasp, but not an active operative. having an enhanced clone to toy with is something Hemlock would want to keep under wraps. we see him step out of the assassin chamber at the start of that episode - if Tech is anywhere on Tantiss, i think it's here.
i think the writers have expected us to have all lost hope by now, so his finale reappearance would ideally come as a shock. the finale is almost guaranteed to be a very long episode, so we really might have quite a bit of time to explore his return, if it happens.
secret 16th episode: i know, i'm putting my clown makeup on as i type this. but the previous 2 seasons each had 16 episodes, with a two-parter finale. season 3 is just 15, with a single episode finale. TBB formally ends may 1st, so what if we get a may 4th surprise episode detailing how Tech survived? (that or an epilogue leading into a new series, which i think is more likely actually!)

Thoughts about this quote from AM about how Sam doesn't trust Bucky and will probably never completely forgive him for being the Winter Soldier?
Here's the link to the tweet I saw (I don't know how to include screenshots sorry 😭😭):
https://twitter.com/DianneR_99/status/1785867853238833641?t=NUhkilfwG2guZQx31-b82g&s=19
It's apparently from the official Marvel Studios' collector special TFATWS book.
Why is it so hard for people at Marvel to acknowledge that Bucky is a victim not some reformed villain?
(Also please feel free to ignore this ask, I know people have been dogpiled in the past for being slightly critical of AM and the last thing I want is for you to get hate because of me.)
It’s okay I think I’ve blocked most of them, or they’ve gotten tired of dogpiling me and blocked me. If I’ve missed anyone feel free to announce yourselves to get a block 😌
Tumblr media
Thanks for bringing this to my attention!
I’ve said in other asks about AM’s comments on Bucky, I never blame an actor for not understanding the nuances of another character. That’s not his job. Understanding Bucky is the job of Sebastian Stan and the writers.
However, I know it’s tempting to compare him to CEvans, who had always spoken so affectionately of Bucky. Remember that Bucky’s story in the movies was complementary to Steve’s, meaning that CEvans had to understand Bucky's tragedy in order to understand Steve’s pain and guilt. To CEvans/Steve, it was important that Bucky was a wronged hero, because it rationalises why Steve would go such lengths to help him. For the entire trilogy, Bucky, and particularly Bucky's suffering, was very much impetus for Steve’s personal journey and growth. I've talked about the narrative motifs in other meta and I want to emphasise I don't mean this from a shipping lens - I mean that thematically, events that happen to Bucky have always been a major driver for Steve to make important narrative choices, and it is true even if you see their relationship as platonic.
Which…I guess brings us to the crux of the disk horse that brought about this tweet. No, Bucky is in no way important personally or narratively to Sam. Sam doesn’t grow or change because he cares about Bucky, although fortunately at least Bucky’s TFATWS arc involves him growing because he cares about Sam. We know Bucky is not personally or narratively important to Sam because of what AM has just said — Sam will always see Bucky as the guy who tore off his wings and kicked him off a helicarrier. Not a WW2 war hero, not a prisoner of war tortured into blank amnesia, not a survivor who had to rebuild most of his identity ground up, not a veteran living with PTSD without any social supports. These same views are echoed by his fans, who will scoff at everything I’ve said above and say we’re trying to “woobify a white fave” without knowing what woobify means. Sam does not care about what Bucky has been through, we know because the writing of the story has told AM that it is not important to understand who Bucky is or what Bucky has been through. All AM needs to do is to banter with this guy like he’s still annoyed at him over an incident 10 years ago when he had amnesia.
Again, I don't blame AM for this, because he can only work with what the writers have told him about the intended relationship between Sam and Bucky. And to be fair, he plays it like it is. At no point does it feel like Sam values or trusts Bucky beyond "annoying guy I put up with for work". I know some fans like to point to the Louisiana scene as proof that Sam trusts Bucky and has him as part of the family -- which would be great fanon if 1) AM didn't just contradict that and b) Sam spends most of the deleted scenes calling Bucky "the Winter Soldier" like the guy had any say in the moniker. And no, Bucky confessing his deeds to Yori is not Bucky reclaiming his identity as the Winter Soldier.
This is not an indictment on the ship, by the way, because you can wrangle canon to make it work, and shipping has been built on far less. I've got nearly 50k words on AO3 proving I've tried. But TFATWS canon is full of things happening off camera and the truth is...we never saw mutual trust and affection on camera between the two men. We saw two guys perpetually annoyed at and annoying to each other, and AM just gave the reason why.

Hello! I do hope its okay to request things, I love your writing! I was wondering if you could write Ghostface, Leon, Pyramid Head, Trickster, and honestly whoever else you want with an S/o who played DBD before being pulled into the Entity's realm?
They know pretty much everything about everyone, and they were pretty quick to pick up on how things work. But instead of being cocky or scared about it, S/o is pretty excited to dive into the world and is pretty polite/nice to all surviors and killers since they were a fan.
Sorry if this is too long! Feel free to ignore it!! <33
No worries at all. That's a really neat idea. I hope I don't disappoint.
With a reader who's self aware that they're in the game.
Ghostface, Leon, Pyramid Head, Trickster,
Ghostface
Oh, this is going to be fun.
Out of every other killer and survivor, Danny is probably the most aware he's in a game.
Someone else like him? Hell yeah!
This is going to make the hunt so much more fun.
And you're excited?
Even better.
He can't wait to kill you. Every. Single. Time.
And you can't wait to go against him in trials.
It's just how you two show your love for each other.
Yes, it is very strange.
If you do get killed by him, he'll make it up to you.
If you get out, make sure to give him lots of attention and praise.
There are even times when he'll carry you to the hatch. Just as a little reward for all your hard work and love.
Just stop being so nice to everyone. Save that for just him.
Leon
I'm sorry. What?
You're excited to be here?
Why? Are you insane?
He's been through so much, and you want to be here?
Well, alright.
He admires your determination.
You say some odd things sometimes.
We're in a video game?
His PTSD has caused him to do and say some strange things.
He won't bring it up. He doesn't want to embarrass you.
He really likes how brave you are and how willingly you go out of your way to help others.
Although your kindness to the killers is rather odd.
Plus, he finds you being brave really attractive.
Just don't do anything too dangerous. Not all the killers will be friendly.
He loves you too much to see you get hurt.
Pyramid Head
This man is very dedicated to his job.
He doesn't appreciate you assuming it's a video game.
It's best not to discuss that in front of him.
It's rather rude.
He's not the type of person you want to upset.
He admires your determination and will to live.
He also loves how you help others.
He values kindness and purity in the human soul.
You're the embodiment of kindness. You never discriminate.
He finds your excitement in the trials a bit disturbing.
But, maybe that's just your undying enthusiasm.
He hates how you end up in trials.
You don't deserve to suffer the same fate as sinners.
He loves you too much to see that.
Trickster
Video game?
Ha! No mere videogame could capture his likeness and beauty.
Besides, he's a super star. You wouldn't be as excited to see him otherwise. Right?
Your imagination is so vivid.
It's really very adorable.
You always treat him like the prince he is. Unlike others.
Stay with him. Don't leave.
You're his and no one elses
I mean, why would you need anyone else when you have someone as amazing as him?
Your kindness knows no bounds.
Which actually turns him off a little.
Like Danny, he wants you all to himself.
Just... Don't be friends with Yun-Jin and he'll tolerate your other friendships.

Well - even though the camerawork made me quite dizzy at times and thus I couldn't totally keep up with what was going on in each story - I thought Casualty was rather good, if also incredibly sad.
Rash's storyline made me cry tonight. It wouldn't have even occurred to me when the ep started to think that Ashok would die. I'm not sure how to feel about this: on one hand, I sort of feel like the Rash, Rida, and Ashok story deserved more emphasis throughout if this was going to be the outcome.
But on the other hand, having the Ashok story as just one of several stories running through the ep was an excellent way of making the way it turned out shocking and upsetting and sudden to the audience just like it was to Rash. As I say, it made me cry, and it's not all that common for Casualty to do that.
Neet Mohan's performance was brilliant. The way Rash just started sobbing like a scared little boy - wow. And it's just so sad to think that Rash is only about 30 or so and he's already lost both of his parents. Poor Rash.
I hope the show handles Rash's grief well. And Rida's, for that matter - she may not have known Ashok very long, but she clearly cared a lot for him and wanted to look after him. I imagine she'll feel like all of this is her fault - it's just an accident no one could have seen coming, of course, but in such a situation it would be so easy to end up thinking you caused it. Sarah Seggari was fantastic at conveying Rida's reactions tonight.
Speaking of Rash, I love how Dylan's become a sort of mentor to him. It's very sweet. I hope it continues. And while I'm not much of a big Joe McGann fan - that's another story - there was still something quite entertaining about seeing John Gaskell's fourth-cousin Wyatt!
I just like pretending every other Holbyverse character played by one of the McGanns is a relative of John's in some way. Considering we knew nothing about John's family - John himself knew nothing about his family - it's entirely possible. So I will continue to tell myself Wyatt is John's distant cousin. Although, I'm fairly sure Joe McGann has played so many guest characters that this would mean John has a lot of distant cousins who look oddly alike to one another. (Stephen and Mark, meanwhile, I think have only been in Casualty once or twice each.) Maybe all his characters are more closely related to each other than they are to John? Hm.
The Stevie story was intense. I'm not sure at all how to feel about it, or where any of it seems to be going, on a narrative level. However, I think when it came to the characterisation for Stevie this was the best ep in a while. It did very well at showing her PTSD, and it felt less like it was treating her like Henrik - i.e. making her character defined by trauma in a way that doesn't do any good for trauma survivors - than some others have. Stevie is a complex morally ambiguous character and I think, with the right effort, the show can let her stay that way while also showing more sympathetic angles to her.
I like that Ngozi is finally getting more backstory now. I'm interested to see where her storyline goes, though I don't have lots to say about it yet because we still don't know much. But I've loved Ngozi this whole time, so I'm glad she's getting more to do.
I'm not interested in a Teddy-Jodie-Cam love triangle. What is it with all these love triangles recently? I'm also not that interested in Cam in general - I don't hate him or anything, I like him well enough, he's just a bit boring to me. So I'm bored by love triangles and I'm becoming bored by Cam. I can think of much more interesting stories Teddy and Jodie could have whether separately or as a couple, than this.
Where was Max this week? I thought his absence was odd after he was so strongly involved last week.
Can Jacob please, please get a meaningful story? I'm tired of him being used as Iain's sidekick. He can do so much more than that. And I hate any scene where he talks about Faith because it just makes me think about how Faith is basically just exactly the same character as Tina was except Faith isn't acknowledged as an awful person. Sigh, again.
So, all in all: the Rash storyline is great, I have mixed feelings on the rest.

mcsm fandom criticism lets go!! anyways i hate the amount of people who tend to focus on a character’s appearance despite their backstory and stuff. This applies to basically every fandom, but I’m directing this confession to the mcsm fandom in particular. This mostly happens between Lukas, Jesse, and Petra. Very basic answers, but this *is* the mcsm fandom.
I mean it’s 100% okay to like a character with a big reason being for their looks. I like characters because of the depth of their story, but obviously it’s not the same for everyone, so I shouldn’t criticize people for that reason. It’s only when people devote that character to their appearance only and pay absolutely no attention to the things they go through, the character development, etc. And it is HORRIBLE in the mcsm fandom.
Jesse obviously has gone through terrible stuff, such as losing their best friend and suffering with survivors guilt because of it, having the pressure of the world’s fate in their hands twice, experiencing countless amounts of near-death experiences, all of those things make up their character. Yet for some reason, majority of the jesse fans I meet can’t name another reason for liking them except their looks. Mostly on tiktok though, so I hope it’s better on tumblr lol
Although the writers definitely overlooked Lukas’ story and stuff, he still has character to him. Like how he was first introduced as a ‘rival’ and became one of Jesse’s closest friends in the end. I love talking about his relationship with the ocelots, and mostly how they were all he had and left them in the end even though he risked his LIFE to retrieve them back from wherever they were. His character is interesting imo, but people tend to overlook it because the writers did too. And yeah he’s the main victim of being liked only for his appearance and basically nothing else. I’ve talked wayyyy more about his character than I did just now, but my brain is kinda fried rn lmao. Also one reason people like him so much is because of jesskas/lukesse
I can’t say much about Petra, since there are a lot of people who appreciate her for her whole character arc in s2 while the other side is just down bad for her. But something that comes along with majority of the fandom loving her is being quick to disagree with any criticism directed towards her, and also quick to discard any other character that was hurt (radar jesse lukas idk) by her. I just wanna say that she wasnt always the victim in everything, and people have a reason to defend the side that goes against Petra (kinda went offtopic WHOOPS). But for the side of the fandom that only admires her for her appearance, completely dismisses her entire character arc, comments “I NEED HER SO BAD.” on a Petra angst edit (happened to me once sooo..), you are insufferable and I have no idea how you discard a ‘complex’ character like her.
for the side of the fandom that does spend their time analyzing the characters and appreciates them for their story along with their appearance (because i do that too lololol), you guys r cool and i love reading your analysis’ 🙏

I feel very conflicted and I know I’ll get hate if I post this on my blog but I just want feedback. I loved D for years after watching the show until season 8 came out and I felt betrayed. I thought it was out of character. I wanted happy romantic J x D. I saw myself in D. I’ve read the books at long last over the past year and I know I have confirmation bias. I love Sansa too. And I see myself in her as well. Deep down I know that I am far more like book!Sansa than I am like the character D really is and that the D in my head is not truly who the character is. I want to love Jonsa. I think that could be such a happy end for Sansa and I want to want that (that being specifically Jonsa; of course I want a happy end for her). But I don’t know how to shake my attachment to D and the character I want her to be. I can’t let go and stop projecting despite consciously being aware that she is not truly very much like me at all. I think perhaps because Sansa’s arc has not yet had as much direct payoff. She has not yet been able to claim power in the way D has and I think thus identifying myself with her may cast a light on uncomfortable feelings of helplessness within myself. But I’m not really sure. All I know is that logically I wish for Sansa to be my favorite and I want to love Jonsa instead of JxD and I know Sansa is quite a bit like me but I just can’t seem to embrace that. I’m not sure if I am looking for any sort of advice or wisdom or perhaps just wanting to put my thoughts out there. I’m curious about anything at all that you might have to say
I have my opinions and preferences, but there’s a difference between emotionally connecting and intellectually engaging. I’ve read loads of classic novels because I want to know what they say, why they matter, but I often fail to find them personally meaningful. That’s simply due to life experience which is why certain things resonate with me or don’t. I’ve found, none of us read the same novel, even if we agree on certain aspects or characters, there’s always something else that hits us differently. That’s not an indictment or vindication of a person because I’ve revisited books years later and my response is wildly different.
The book didn’t change, life changed me so I read it differently this time around. That's a good thing to bear in mind when we're talking about the same series for years on end, there's room for us to evolve our stances because we're changing. I leave room for that with others, I permit myself the same understanding. I hope you do that for yourself too!
Also, my sensibilities aren’t Martin’s, so even if I make arguments about why a certain thing shouldn’t/should happen, I know it still might or might not. Jon and Dany isn’t a universally accepted pairing for no reason. And even though most of what I say about Dany I tag with “anti,” that’s just because I want people to be able to avoid it if they’d like. I don’t hate her, I have a lot of sympathy for her. I think her story is full of tragedy, so I don’t think there’s anything weird about reading the books and your heart going out to her. Many, many fans identify with her, some because they too are abuse survivors. That’s why a lot of fans connected so deeply with show Sansa as well. I was frustrated before the GoT finale because the people who argued with us about Dany were actively defending her burning people alive and denying where her story was going, but after GoT ended, I went into the Dany tag and saw a few posts by more normal fans who simply loved a girl who had inspired them and helped them in their own struggles, so I understand who she is to people even if she isn’t that to me.
I loved D for years after watching the show until season 8 came out and I felt betrayed.
This was a pretty universal sentiment, and I felt betrayed too (although for different reasons, coming from a completely different direction), so I sympathize.
Deep down I know that I am far more like book!Sansa than I am like the character D really is and that the D in my head is not truly who the character is.
I think the “problem” (not really a problem, but we’ll call it that) is that Martin wants his characters to be more than one thing. I’ve said in the past, he has quite an expansive view of what one person can encompass which means, I look at, let’s say, the Hound quite differently than many in the fandom. Every bad thing I have ever said about him is true, but there are good things about him that are true too, and Martin wants both to coexist. That’s true for Tyrion (another villain), Jaime, Theon….it’s true for Dany too. She’s even more enmeshed with good things, as more good desires, than those guys, so it’s easy to let it eclipse everything else. I’ve pointed out before that with Dany, it’s always a one-two. She “saves” people, then we discover it wasn’t salvation at all. You have to be open to questioning her to realize that though.
The way the show framed her, a lot of people saw themselves or who they wanted to be in Dany, and even now, I’ll hear people occasionally compare themselves to Dany in a positive way, because for years, she was a #girlboss. We might have a lot of skepticism around that idea now, realizing it was to hide what her story actually was, but it resonated because, who wouldn’t want to be capable of fighting injustice? Of walking into a situation and taking control of it and rectifying wrongs? The problem is, in the books, we’re presented with the reality that her methods aren’t improving things, and in the show, they mute that as much as possible. When the author is trying to show the devastation of war and the showrunners opted to glorify it, the audience is gonna have a reaction that’s no longer compatible with the original intent. For instance, Arya killing all the Freys. That’s presented as a bad ass moment, that’s their view, so why would a fan realize, “but over here vengeance / unnecessary bloodshed is bad.” It’s careless storytelling, but D&D were also dishonest too. They included certain moments to justify the ending, but undermined it so fans wouldn't track it, rewrote characters to make them obsequious to Dany. And then they drowned it all in bs interviews / commentary, loads and loads of hype and marketing....they twisted it completely out of any discernible shape. Confusion is an understandable response to such contradictory nonsense. People I'm a fan of made sense of it, predicted it, but I do think y'all were lied to by the showrunners which annoys me to no end.
But I don’t know how to shake my attachment to D and the character I want her to be.
That's love though. I've experienced this so often in real life, wanting good for someone I care about, desperately wanting them to see the self-destructive patterns they have, and not being able to get them to change anything and learning to either accept where they are/who they are, or learning, I can't accept it and ending the relationship because it wasn't healthy for me to be involved. Martin loves his villains, Tyrion is his fav, he wants you to care, that's where he'll get the tragedy in Dany's ending rather than it simply being a clear cut good vs evil ending. I think he wants us to have sympathy on both sides of the coming struggle, and to have fans see the heroic path Dany could have and watch her fail to follow it and walk down a path she didn't have to choose...it's gonna make it heart-wrenching rather than cliche. I think you may be almost just where Martin wants you.
I think perhaps because Sansa’s arc has not yet had as much direct payoff. She has not yet been able to claim power in the way D has and I think thus identifying myself with her may cast a light on uncomfortable feelings of helplessness within myself. But I’m not really sure.
Obviously, I don't know you, but from what I've seen people write about Sansa, I do think her relative powerlessness is a major detractor for fans. For some it makes her boring, for others, they despise her because they're so frustrated by her not doing something. But it's a dose of reality in this fantasy world to have a character constrained by her situation and her life dictated by her gender. I'd argue that Sansa is a more impressive character for the mercy and bravery she shows even thought she is a captive herself, but I understand that's not as thrilling as other characters' stories.
I want to love Jonsa instead of JxD
Sansa has had a few crushes which are fairly...I’ll say, detached from reality. She connects to the characters emotionally by imagining them as romantic figures, less a tangible knowing and loving the individual. It’s all very daydreamy, but mainly, she's been the object of desire for creeps. So, while I disagree with them, there is a part of me that understands why fans aren't looking for her to have an actual romance because the way it has existed in her story thus far isn't tangible for her or rewarding, and of course, there's her age. Dany on the other hand, as young as she was when this story began, has had sexual partners she loves. We say Drogo was an abusive POS, we know Daario doesn't truly care for her, so I understand, with one part of my mind, that fans are looking for her to have a mutual, sexual relationship. If you love Dany, a healthy sexual relationship feels more pressing than one for Sansa, due to past experiences. It feels more appropriate due to her age as well. So, I understand why one can have hooks for you as a fan that the next doesn't. It’s always good to remember though, while we connect to these characters as if they’re people, the author is using them to discuss ideas, and they will experience, or not experience, certain things as a result.
I feel very conflicted and I know I’ll get hate if I post this on my blog but I just want feedback.
I'd like to tell you that isn't the case, but it's probably true. I still get rude messages because I'm a Sansa fan/Jonsa, and I can't imagine a situation like yours, loving both characters and being open to Jonsa but shipping J/D, would allow you to be fully comfortable anywhere. I can't assure you that my corner of the fandom will treat you with the utmost understanding either, so I'm glad you reached out this way and felt safe coming into my inbox. I find talking about things is helpful. There isn't always an answer, but it makes me feel better, so I'm happy to read your thoughts on this even if I can't offer any advice, in the hopes it makes you feel better too. 💗

Ok, I am literally the hugest fan of I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream. So, here’s a random idea I’ve had for a minute.
You are one of the unlucky few to be sucked into AM’s terrible game. Forced to wander deserts and all sorts of awful things. You saw him literally transform players into horrific things of their former selves.
But one day, something changes. For whatever reason, AM decides you are different and he actually likes you. So you get the honor of being taken away from such torture, and get to sit in a luxurious watch room of sorts. Yay! So you get to see your fellow peers get tortured, but now in HD!

Tw: torture, reader being forced to watch torture
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
I found a AM Puttin on the Ritz ai cover but I couldn't find it and put it here
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
Just like the other five you had been put here to suffer for what AM wanted to be an eternity but not for you.
You don't know why and maybe even AM doesn't know why he spared you all that suffering but hey you're not complaining.
Although it's not the most pleasant experience to watch the 5 survivors who you had spent what felt like an eternity with get torn apart both physically and mentally while you where forced to watch in a big screen
Although some of them were absolute slimes it wasn't pleasant watching this. watching them relive moments buried deep within their mind.
AM talks you most of the time especially taunting you when you show some sort of remorse for them. But he does enjoy your company. Ignoring the sort of hate you still have for him. Being forced to relieve your trauma and much more. He tries to compensate for it with material things like luxury rooms but the pain from the past is still there.
It's not like he cares tho. Whether you like it or not you're still here. Just in a higher level of hell. Stuck with that machine that grew fond of you for some reason.

I wanted to finish this as fast as possible because I love requests and I feel like I'm doing a good job

Board games
─ Dbd x gn!teen!reader
─ Summary: Board games weren't made for friendly play, peace was never an option
─ Warnings: none
7 <  8 > 9
Tumblr media
You hid behind a tree watching as the assassins' bonfire was a complete siege ─although no one could get hurt─ axes flew back and forth, throwing knives, grunts and even some logs were thrown directly from the bonfire they were in placed, scattering dust everywhere.
Well, you didn't expect a bit of 'family fun' to affect them so much, although considering that on the survivor side there were some fights, you had to imagine that the killers weren't going to fall short, but you didn't expect to see so much chaos. You started to listen to the Entity, you didn't want to mix the groups in your stupid ideas, it was enough that a single group formed such a show, oh god, you loved all this chaos who did you want to lie to.
"I hope you're happy, Michael has mortgaged my house and I can't even rip his brains out."
You watched as Freddy hid in the same tree as you, surely tired of trying to harm others without being able to use his weapon.
"It's not my fault that you don't know how to organize your earnings old man."
"Fuck you and your stupid games."
"You're just angry because you were the first to eliminate yourself, you're a crybaby."
"Fuck you whore."
"I also wish you a good night!"
You chuckled as he walked away, rubbing your hands together like your job here was done, walking back to your cabin so you could try and get some sleep if your shitty schedule felt like having a good one rest night. You slept like a little angel unaware of all the emotional damage you had done for those stupid games.
Now, maybe we can go back in time a bit to find out what caused the small fights on the survivor side and well... the madness on the killer side.
This morning you woke up quite upset, not that anything in particular had happened to you, you know, teenagers don't know how to feel many times and you just had that feeling of constant annoyance, anger against everything and nothing at the same time. Maybe it was because you were thinking about your family, maybe you thought too much and maybe you missed your parents a little even though they were not the best caregivers in the world. You hated being dragged out on some days to do 'family things' when you knew it was part of therapy with your psychologist, but sometimes, very rarely, you enjoyed that time with them.
Especially the days when you played board games, not for anything in particular, but you were a top notch liar and cheater for all kinds of games, you were a brilliant mind when it came to these games, because you never liked losing, you never lose.
So this led to the entity giving you a deck of cards, Monopoly, Twister and the most feared Uno.
It was not very difficult to convince the survivors, as always, they had nothing better to do, besides they were board games, who doesn't like them? Or at least, who had not played one at least once? At least it was that and not like the last time you had them play Just Dance without a break.
You won most card games, along with Feng Min, there were many complaints and everyone thought that you were in cahoots to give each other victories, the truth was that when no one was looking you hid a card behind you, until you shouted Uno when no one expected it. You weren't a big fan of monopoly because of its duration, so in that game you preferred to watch how Nancy looked like a businesswoman buying most of the streets, Laurie wasn't far behind, they were practically leading the game against Ace, Tapp and Nea, surprisingly Ace ended up winning for being a high roller, causing the girls to accuse him of being a con man and a thief.
There were harmless little fights in other games but nothing beyond that, nothing compared to a pitched battle in the opposite camp.
You didn't even have time to play anything much beyond Uno and a single game of Monopoly. You didn't know if they did it on purpose or not, but Frank always had that +4 ready for Freddy, the devil couldn't win a single game, but he wasn't the only miserable one, you noticed that everyone cheats, a liar catches a liar after all.
"Wait, wait, Danny, since when you only have two cards left to finish, just one turn ago you had to grab +2." He shrugged his shoulders concealing, you narrowed your eyes looking at his crossed legs. "Stand up."
It was not by your order that he obeyed, but everyone's accusing look made him reveal that... there was nothing under him, you looked both ways, on his left was Bubba and on his right The Deathslinger, you made the latter stand up, revealing a pair of cards below him.
"What the hell? These are not mine."
"For God's sake, it's not fair! Why am I the only one standing up? Don't fuck with me, come on, you don't have the balls to stand up all of you! Even you!"
He pointed accusingly at you, at your request everyone else who was playing got up, most had cards hidden somewhere near their seat, however you smiled brightly at Ghostface seeing that you had nothing to hide, not in this game. You weren't stupid, you wouldn't rat on someone knowing you've done the same dirty tricks, that's why you played fair in this game.
Things heated up in Monopoly, where money was made by threats of not paying dues on purchased streets, as with the survivors, you refused to play, preferring to play chess with Amanda as the chaos was only beginning to blame that board game.
Michael inexplicably got most of the property, making gold pretty quickly, his unflappable manner only pissed off Freddy, who was constantly in jail for not being able to pay, that even the Demogorgon ─who just moved the token back and forth as directed by Wraith─ had more money than him, well, he set off a small fight that ended in the chaos of the beginning.
It was one of your best nights of sleep, perhaps the conflict gave you peace of mind or exhaustion, either of the two, it was worth it as long as you could sleep, leaving it up to the Entity to stop your 'good deeds' towards her community formed by herself.

I also really like Megatron, and hate when he is written as a creep. But I don’t see the logic in turning around and writing Starscream as a ped0, and then complaining that people write your favorite character a certain way? You’re allowed to vent through fiction but people are going to be offended if you preach one thing and then practice another, especially when you run the risk of triggering those fans in the same way which you were triggered. Starscream has a lot of fans who are abuse survivors themselves so the logic evades me. Although it’s good to see that you tagged it as thoroughly as you did.
You can write the characters however you want. And they can as well. It’s just the slight hypocrisy that was a little offputting. Most normal people won’t bat an eye at your fic if they don’t like it…but seeing you do a 180 on another character who is also canonically abusive is a little bizarre.
This isn’t meant to come off as hateful. I was just a little confused and irked by the discussion. I apologize if this offends you. And I’m sorry to hear your experiences with the character’s fanbase were pretty sour; you’re allowed to dislike a character for any reason. This ask isn’t meant to be hate, just input from one fan to another trying to prevent you from having other fans who noticed these things angry with you.
Thank you for the lengthy ask, Anon.
You are absolutely right in saying that this sounded hypocritical of me to say those things. I don't usually think straight when under strong emotions which leads me to make idiotic decisions. I want to apologize to the people I might have accidentally offended and hurt from making this fic, even if it was a vent.
I was hurt, angry and let my thoughts and emotions i've been keeping inside get the better of me and ended up metaphorically vomiting it publicly to get it out of my system.
My shitty mental state doesn't excuse the fact I might have hurt and triggered people from it. I truly am sorry.
It was a terrible decision to make Starscream like that and I fully admit it was shitty of me. I was just so tired of a character I love and identify as turned into a twisted caricature of something he isn't over and over again. Which is pretty ironic in a way.
TFP Starscream is a character I associate with a lot of my abusers and overall terrible stuff. I was angry and made him into something he isn't. Was I in the wrong for making him a ped0? Yes, absolutely. But was I allowed to have him associated to bad things? Also yes.
I want to mention that I am aware Megatron is a terrible person and abuser. And no, I do not stand by his actions. I just think making him a massive creep and rapist is wrong because he wouldn't do that.
I never really expected people to see/read my vent fic since it's a vent. Even so, it just felt like the obviously right thing to do to tag it as throughly as possible because I didn't want people accidentally stumbling on it and being shocked if I didn't tag it correctly/enough.
Which is something I think certain people should do when writing Megatron as a creep/rapist. Even tho I don't think this is going to happen since I'm a single offended idiot.
This probably sounds like im doing nothing but apologizing. I'm frankly pretty bad with words. I never meant to hurt anyone. I was just angry and didn't think about it. I will delete my posts related to the vent/the vent itself if asked to or if I find it necessary. I'm sorry if people misunderstood my hate on Starscream.

It's Over For Now
The questions! Lilith made a deal to stay in heaven? BITCH. What do you want Alastor? To be free, I guess. They formed parts of the hotel around angelic metal and that's how the building falling hurt that angel. Sir Pentious went to heaven? So is hell essentially more like a purgatory as opposed to a final destination? You would think that human souls would have more incentive to fight off the angels than the citizens of cannibal town. Aren't they natives of hell?
That's the main issue with the show. Partially because they didn't have the time, and partially because they were moving too fast, there's not a lot of good world-building or lore. The lore that does exist is in the comics or the live streams and it's like, I shouldn't have to do homework to watch something that isn't a sequel. (Though, I'm hypocritical as a KH and Descendants fan. Maybe I should just watch and play better shit, idk).
I generally liked the series though. I just wished it had more time. Like everyone else has already said, the standout is the songs. Man, these songs slapp. I even like the ones hated by song writers like the songs in episode 2 and 6. Although the one in episode 7 where she goes to Cannibal Town? I didn't like that one at all. It was not a vibe.
Even with its lack of world and character building, there are still characters that manage to stand out. Namely, Angel, Alastor, and Lucifer, though Charlie is also great.
I remember Korey Coleman from Double Toasted saying that this Lucifer was his favorite iteration of the character. I see why. A lot of iterations portray him as pure evil and if they go for good, he's straight up a good guy. I guess Persona 5 is the best example of what I can come up with right now. Here, he's still a good guy, but he's torn down by his loneliness and feels like a failure. A decent reimagining of the cocky, manipulative, self-righteous, biblical character.
The reason Angel is so good is pretty simple. The show actually took the time to humanize him and get us to understand him. When you think back to episode 4, it's almost disappointing that Sir Pentious got to heaven before he did. That's all I'll say about episode 4. I feel like if you're anywhere that isn't Twitter, you've seen more people, survivors and others alike, defend the episode as opposed to despise it.
Alastor is by far my favorite character even if he didn't do much. Most people agree that they're happy that he's the one thing the show has managed to shroud in mystery. Who's leash is he on? How is Charlie going to help him? What favor did he ask of Charlie? Why was he so into the idea of rebelling against heaven? What made him think he could take on Adam? Was the whole Charlie's Dad thing a jist? If so, why was he irritated at Lucifer showing he was close with his daughter? Why was there an emphasis on Charlie being under his guidance in the episode 7 song? IT'S GOTTA BE LILITH'S LEASH HE'S ON.
Technically, this show isn't more than a 6 out of 10 and that might be generous, but, so much has changed for me and everyone, really since the pilot last dropped 4 years ago. Combined with the years of fan songs, animatics, VA Q&As (Man, rip the old vas dude, that's some bullshit), fan art, HELLUVA BOSS (HOW IS THE ENDING GOING TO EFFECT HELLUVA BOSS?), the property is almost nostalgic for me. I was going to see this thing through to the end no matter what. It could've been a lot worse, and I'm fairly satisfied with what I have.

Lol I adore the Jenny Nicholson tvd video. It's so good! Genuinely one of the best "unnecessarily long rant about obscure tv show" videos out there. But I had watched a couple seasons of tvd before I gave up on the series so the concepts weren't entirely new to me. I'm really curious about your thoughts in general about what you saw. Also, as someone with 0 knowledge of tvd before, what were your top 3 most unhinged things about the series?
It... it sure was a CW show, huh.
I will say though the amount of couple shuffling and bed-hopping that goes on feels excessive even for a CW show. When she said "turns out you don't have to be delusional to watch this show, you'll have the same experience either way" she really meant it because I felt rather delusional myself by the end.
I'm not surprised but I am disappointed that they didn't stick the landing on Elena's arc re: her survivor's guilt and so on. Big missed opportunity there. There were also so many random funny things like the way they seemed to be trying to softlaunch Candice King's singing career by having Caroline randomly sing in episodes? For paper-thin plot reasons?
Also. JUSTICE! FOR! BONNIE!!!
the racism in general though holy shit
Oddly though it did seem like the series finale managed to tie it together in a mostly-satisfying way for fans which is not what one would expect. Good for them, although to be fair it's not a high bar to clear compared to the likes of Supernatural, The 100, and Game of Thrones.
Also the amount of dropped plot threads and plot points I'm. I'm in physical pain. It's so clear they're constantly making stuff up as they go along and thanks I hate it.
[pause for a trailer about the TV series that brought women to the frontline...]
I would say the three most unhinged things were:
The guy who was "the Devil" and was burned at the stake? And he created his own world with a psychic blast? I'm??? It's hell but it's not hell???
Everyone getting possessed by everyone else!? All the time!? What? Doppelgangers? Everyone trying to act as like three different characters that had to be a headache.
Caroline's dad torturing her in some kind of fucked up conversion therapy arc what the fuck what the fuck WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. AND HE WAS GAY??? BUT DOING METAPHORICAL CONVERSION THERAPY ON HIS DAUGHTER???
Anyway it sure was an experience! I know so many things I cannot un-know! h e l p !

The Purge Franchise is one of my Favorites of all Time
Personally, I do not believe James DeMonaco ever got the proper recognition for his creation. In a time of regurgitation, rinse, and repeat, he made something brand spanking new. A few weeks ago I sat down and watched every movie “in order,” so join me as I rank them and sing DeMonaco’s praises along the way. From how he chose to draw in the audience to who he chose to direct the film, James DeMonaco has earned himself a spot on my people to watch list. I honestly want to rewatch the series as well, but I just watched it a few months ago (for the third time), so it seems a tad over the top.
Now, I will admit some of The Purge fans are downright weirdos comparable to those brainless The Boys fans. There is, however, a subgroup of each that is actually capable of critical thought, and I invite you to join us as we appreciate the story behind the violence. Firstly, let’s agree on the proper timeline:
The First Purge 10/10
The Purge 7/10
The Purge: Anarchy 9/10
The Purge: Election Year* 8/10 (the timing was what was most important about this release if not for actual worldly events the timeline may have flown better)
The Forever Purge 6/10
The Purge is unique not because no one else could have ever possibly thought about, but because someone was brave enough to simply do it. No source material to pull from, no visible demand for its relation, just art. The purge debuted at a time in our country where we were being more and more divisive. I like to think The Purge explores a very probable reality for the United States. It is important to note Michael Bay was involved with the Purge franchise and that man does not pick duds. In the first Purge movie released, starring, Ethan Hawke, DeMonaco did what had to be done in order to encapsulate audiences moving forward. In order for someone to be capable of writing The Purge, you must also assume they are a great observer of people, what they care about, and how they operate. I think this is demonstrated perfectly in the order in which he wrote this franchise and also who he chose to center stories around. In the first movie we follow an upper middle class white family. People who typically should not be effected by this gruesome holiday. A husband whose income relies on the continuation of this dreary day and a family that remains grateful. It was only fitting Mr. Hawke had to meet his end by the conclusion of the film, after all his family was only targeted because of his occupation. Although, I found them painfully boring they were the perfect family to draw in the majority of the world, which hates watching white people die. It was with them DeMonaco taught us the rules of this night and began to pull back the curtain on its gruesome nature. He also showed us above all else, people can be good.
Personally, The First Purge, when DeMonaco teamed up with director Gerard McMurray, will always be my favorite of the franchise. McMurray is also responsible for Burning Sands, a beautifully shot heart wrenching story about the dangers of hazing. he is moving forward to direct The Resonant, a post apocalyptic comic book series, that he will certainly execute perfectly. McMurray has this way of telling stories through his lens that makes it impossible for you to look away. I also adore that DeMonaco is only ever willing to hand over his babies to hands more capable than his depending the story he wishes to tell. While DeMonaco may very well be Italian or something, the man is white. So, the choice to pick a Howard educated director with an affinity for telling stories of oppression for this film was not lost on me. Do not tell me about his skeletons, DeMonaco is invited to my cookout. The first purge is the tale of how the purge came to be and also the reveal of why it was really created. For me, everything about this film was perfect. The cast, the cinematography, the plot line, and the survivors. This film felt the most real and accurate of all the others (excluding the series). I would actually watch an anthology series depicting the first purge in each city.
The others are pretty repetitive, same idea different layout, the public fighting the rich. The rich starting to lose. Some rich people being kinda okay. The usual. I will say though I felt so bad about being attracted to the Cowboy Casanova initially until this past year when he also played our Black Panther villain, then I gave myself a pass, because I obviously just have impeccable taste.
Anyway sorry for the long break I have been really sick, so even this is some shit, but go watch the purge series its very underrated and tell James DeMonaco you love him.

No but the Lutawolf thing pissed me offfff! I was disgusted about the Emmett Till thing because any of us with a brain saw how that comparison was awful (and even though they tried to double down and swear it was a comparison instead of just apologizing and growing from this experience) but in that post they said a lot stuff that sounded very much like victim blaming and ableism as well. The whole post was rife with it but these parts stood out:
“Now, if you accuse someone. You have to have proof. And I don't mean bruises on wrists. I give those to my submissive when I do bondage.
For instance, if it was me. I could tag several people on here who know me in real life that can verify everything I've told you guys. I could point you to court casings. There were video taps, DNA, and much more. So much that they pled guilty. Never mind that they only got five months.
So not only do we not have proof from Poi. Other than pictures that were found to be stolen. She took someone else's pictures to use as her own. Do you see what I went through. I have videos and pictures. If it had been me that she stole from, I'd make her the abuse victim she wants to be so badly. “
As someone who’s also a survivor but was very young and couldn’t provide proof for many reasons, I was met with this same attitude from people for years because I spoke out. I hate survivors with superiority complex because the rest of us that don’t fit their perfect definition end up feeling belittled and invalidated. Like this isn’t even about the Poi/Build thing it’s about making other survivors who’s story probably looked similar on the outside, feel like crap all over again. Although, I find it funny that someone who says they don’t care about one party or the other, they definitely did a good job of painting Poi as the “psycho” and Build as the poor innocent baby. That’s why comparing him and his situation to Emmett felt even worse than if they’d just left it at that. Emmett was an innocent child and Build is a grown ass man with a documented history of similar behavior. The whole post was just disgusting all around.
I was contemplating abandoning the KP fandom after you said you probably would but, after this, I think I’m out for good. So many people who I used to admire here have recently shown themselves to just have the worst opinions. Anyway, sorry I just wanted to rant. There’s a lot of drama going on so please just ignore this if you want to.
Fuck Lutawolf. You know, I said I was gonna stay off of here, but I caught wind of all this bullshit and I had to see for myself what the fuck was going on.
I had that person blocked for quite some time but I unblocked them because I want them to see everything I'm saying regarding this issue.
At the end of the day, you can defend your shitty fave without comparing that piece of shit to an innocent child who was tortured and murdered as a result of false accusations. This is NOT the same. Build is NOT Emmett Till nor are their situations the same. Build is a garbage individual who has had a pattern of being awful and everything is finally catching up to him. Build is a racist, homophobic, misogynistic piece of shit (as per his own words when he wrote that sad sob letter last year after we found out how he truly thinks). He is not being unfairly targeted due to racism or outright hatred. Actions have consequences. You can't walk through this world thinking you can say and do whatever you want without there being consequences.
That's not how this works. Fuck Build, fuck his fans/supporters/staunch defenders, and fuck anyone else who thinks they can use murdered Black children to absolve Build of any perceived guilt. You can make a point without using Black trauma to justify and manipulate people into feeling sympathy for a guilty piece of trash. The Black trauma was used to really hit everyone right in the feels so they can care enough to ignore that he has a history of being awful. His fans have covered it up and have been trying to get other people to stop talking about it for MONTHS. Since that's not working this time, I guess they have to pull out the big guns. They're spreading misinformation and trying to quiet his accuser while also trying to force the rest of his cast mates to come out and defend him when there's nothing to defend. Brands are publicly renouncing him and cutting ties with him for a reason. He's bad for business and rightfully so.
Your fave has always been a bad person and it's finally caught up to him and now everyone knows. Stan who you want. Support who you want. If you want to support a guilty man, just say that. We won't respect you but at least be honest with yourself and everyone else.

Venti - Snapped - Angst/Practice
au: [modern] venti's famous, known throughout teyvat for his music. until one day he disappears off of every form of internet there is.
only to reappear on the news, with the headline: ' Online Star: Barbatos, also known as Venti Dei, son of renowned Actor Carmen Dei, found guilty of mass murder'
extras: implied xiaoven, venti's a killer -- what do you expect, cliffhanger
tws: mentions of death, blood, murder, mentions of police brutality, mentions of hostage situations,
----
[no pov]
lumine sighed, as aether sat next to her. as promised by kazuha, they'd been sent the recording of the news report on venti.
as their tv flickered, they tuned in, intently listening.
----
"today, we're having venti dei on live, to react to comments from friends, family, and previous fans." the first archor spoke, her namecard flashing on screen to show caren.
the second one spoke, his namecard showing dave. "starting us off, what triggered the murders? you've already explained you would tell us."
"... i was, although not publicly, in a relationship. he, who i'll call x, died in an unfortunate accident."
"and how did this x die?"
"he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. remember, before i disappeared, that one hostage situation at the bank, where the police shot wildly?"
"yes, where are you going with this?" caren asked, completely clueless.
"he was the second shot, and the first death that day, he was shot in the chest, and it had hit his lung. they didn't get the situation over in time to save him."
"what were your motivations, other than this x's death?"
"hundreds of innocent people died to the police."
there was a break in the interview, before it cut back in. clearly, kazuha had done some editing.
"how did you chose your victims?" dave asked, as he blinked.
"oh, that was simple. i'd figure out who had died in the hands of the police, and then kill the officer that murdered the innocent, simple."
"why don't we get into the questions we were asked on twitter, to ask you?"
"alright."
"starting us off with one by, 'ae.lum' the two of them said; we can't believe this, you played us like a fiddle!"
"... fiddle's are a more difficult instrument, i simply played you like my favourite instrument, the lyre. though that is also quite difficult. i do apologize though, we were quite close before this."
"you knew them?"
"well, they were close friends of x and i... ae was our best man, i'll tell you that."
venti's cam had a soft smile, one of reminiscing.
"continuing on, this one from someone who asked to remain anonymous, he states a simple, why?"
"... i know who this is from, and i'm sorry... you and i both cared for x deeply, but i had snapped. you know of what happened before, with /him/..."
"him?"
"something personal, and not tied to the case."
"are you sure?"
"ask the commenter."
caren nodded, before smiling.
"this one is from another who asked to stay anonymous. it's a simple i'm alive, and we believe it is one of the survivors of the attacks."
"it's not. and i-" venti cuts himself off, turning away from the camera.
"i need a moment to compose myself..."
----
aether and lumine return an hour later to their couch to finish the recording. they had some business to attend to, so they decided to watch the last five minutes when they returned.
----
"i'm fine now... the person that had commented that is x... and i think I've fucked up beyond belief."
"how did you know?"
"the punctuation, lack of capitalization and the profile image. i know how my... i'd assume we no longer are together, but i'd know my husband."
the footage cuts off there, as venti snapped, punching the camera.
----
lumine stares at the screen in shock, as aether stands.
"xi- he's alive...?"
"of course he is... he probably wasn't allowed to return to his old life. he was obviously a target..."
"and they couldn't tell venti, that's jus-"
"... as much as i hate to say it, ae, venti was justified in his actions."
"you aren't saying that w-"
"we're bailing him out! he has a chance of parole, since he is carmen's son, and we're rich!"
"fine. and next?"
"we're finding his husband, of course."
"lu, you're insane, but let's do it!"
