Like say a creep needs a job, kills someone for their position, is caught out and is on the run, hitchhikes with a random trucker, and they arrive at Tim and Brian's farm, a place to stay AND a job!

That's a shit example but it's just a series of a events that just so happened to bring them to the farm, but really it's just supernatural magnetism pulling them in creating fate or something. And it can obviously be much more detailed (less shit😭) and connected with characters backstories maybe ykyk??

kinda off topic from what you said but the way i imagine creeped is. ok this is cringe. if i were to make a comic, it would be.... kinda episodic with theres the underlying plot that slowly unravels. , with each creep/ghost/demon having their own episode to reveal backstory. or chapter if its a comic. .? KINDA LIKE GIRL FROM NOWHERE AGAIN (this is my 2nd time mentioning it today lol) and the proxies/toby would be the main character(s) since they work for slender, who is. kinda the 'mastermind' behind all of this.

but the problem is, for the proxies/slender, they dont have much incentive to keep around slasher-type creeps. for jeff, its to keep ben happy. for clocky, its cuz she doesnt cause much trouble and toby heavily vouches for her (slender also knows he needs to keep his proxies relatively content). but beyond those two ? they'd rather just kill helen to get cops off the roads and patrolling their forest. so i imagine all the other killers(bloody painter, x-virus, nathan the nobody) are in different states or. dead .

ofc, the operator would play a huge part in rando killers and everyones backstory webbing together, but im fighting for my life to find a decent way to put everyone together

im actually going to tear into totk’s dragon’s tears/ memories rn bc i remember feeling distinctly unsatisfied with them when i got all of them so im just going to write some general bullet points about them, about what i dislike or maybe what i do actually like about them, leaving out both master sword scenes and the mummydorf one because i’m here to talk about the stuff in the past not that

- off the bat (i play this game in english btw so all of this is based on the english text and translation i am aware some stuff is slightly different in other languages) im not really a fan of how the descriptions of all of the tears is just a literal description of what happens?? i think my issue with it is that some of the text is a little bit too in depth, as in it just tells you literally everything about the scene. this might be nitpick-y but i personally dont like it

- what’s up with zelda saying ‘but that must mean...!’ at the end of the scene. is it suggesting that she’s made the realization that rauru and sonia are the first king and queen of hyrule? because they literally tell her that like ten seconds before. i guess it’s suggesting she’s realizing she’s in the past but... idk the texts says ‘she’s left startled by a suspicion that she’s heard those names before’ yeah theyre the first king and queen of hyrule?? they tell her that. they tell her their names and that they are the first leaders of hyrule is she just now connecting the dots that she’s in the past? that’s what the next cutscene implies. but all of the surrounding dialogue and the description don’t suggest that that’s what she’s realizing i feel like this was kind of muddled in the translation

- why did sonia elbow rauru he was just standing weird he didnt say anything this isnt a nitpick im just confused. is it because he’s not being very empathetic towards what zelda’s going through? she elbows him and then she goes and talks to zelda why even elbow rauru. ordinarily you elbow someone like that if you mean for them to go do something why elbow someone if you’re going to do the thing you want anyways

- why doesnt zelda offer to help with the purah pad or anything like that. what happened to her sheikah tech fascination from botw. not even as someone actually familiar with the technology who could give mineru some points as to how it works

- what are sonia and zelda doing behind rauru when he shoots that insane fucking beam at the mulduga swarm they’re clearly doing something with their stones but like... are they amplifying rauru’s power somehow?? what do time powers have to do with the beam of light i dont- what were they doing please the text description only mentions him using his powers so are sonia and zelda just... supporting his powers? idk man

- dragon tear #5 is a whole can of worms with its worse-than-oot reenactment of that one scene from oot. why the focus on sonia and her tear btw. i mean yeah she dies to motivate rauru and zelda but like. why not aim for the new girl who probably doesn’t know how to use it as much and is probably more likely to be separate from the king who can shot insane lasers. im really not a fan of this scene for how strongly the game sides with rauru and zelda being passive and judgemental but ganondorf is literally the best part of it there’s a lot of character in just how he picks up his sword and stands up to leave

- putting memories 6 and 7 together just because of how there was just. no fucking care put into the idea of zelda learning to use her time powers. memory 6 zelda talks about wanting to use her time powers and sonia gives her tips on how she could use it and visualize the use of it and then in memory 7 she can just use it perfectly with great control and timing. why even bother talking about her nothing yet understanding how to use it when the very next scene she just uses it like it’s nothing. how much time has passed we get nothing to show us zelda trying to practice this power just. nope. she’s good she can use it perfectly. also more awkward dialogue sonia saying ‘what a picture zelda paints of him’ as she is. looking directly at zelda. change the line to like, ‘what a picture you paint of him’ she is literally looking right at zelda so why would she say it like that

- generally i feel like memory six should have been before 4 and 5 (4 being where she uses some power to... support??? rauru and it being before memory 5 so that there isnt this weird break in between the memories concerning ganondorf.) memory 6 does not have anything to do with memory 4 or 5 so just put it earlier so there isnt a weird shift in focus between the two big ganondorf scenes

- good god they introduce the idea of sonia and zelda being aware of ganondorf using a fake zelda but theres literally nothing about it having been a problem or them having experience or like. anything. they just TELL you that they know and suggest that it’s been like. a thing for a bit??? also obligatory ganondorf’s face model rigging is fucked comment he’s still the best part

- the pacing of these memories is just weird in general, memories 7 and 8 being separate but the same scene is strange when other memories are long as fuck but cover one event each, plus theres clearly barely any passage of time between memories 7 and 8 it almost feels like they were split up to fill space or just because otherwise it’d be... too long? man idk

- ‘queen sonia needs you!’ girl she is DEAD good fucking luck doing anything to help her

- ganondorf’s horse and its armor both look sick as fuck i really wish you got to see more of it outside the memory it appears in

- everything about the original sages honestly sucks. they aren’t characters they’re just walking macguffins. they have no names and are not relevant or mentioned or make any appearance until they are needed by the story. why does the zora sage talk about getting word about the attacked gerudo village in this scene when like. they’ve all met up and have clearly. been together for a bit. when she gives them the news it’s clearly the first they’ve heard of it... but... why would she wait until this moments to give this info unless for the benefit of the player watching the scene. why does the ZORA sage have this news and not... the gerudo sage?? what’s with the masks. they’re all made of zonaite or whatever sure theyre gifts from rauru but like. i hate that it kind of denotes them being subservient and lower than him and the zonai. honestly i really hate this scene in general mostly because of the uncomfortable showing of how rauru absolutely holds power over them and despite them being leaders as well they are expected to be wholly blindly loyal to him. rauru only gives them these stones when he needs their aid and they swear loyalty too him soon after but you also see that sonia and mineru have stones, too, so they’re clearly withholding these things despite it being kind of reasonable for him to give each race their own secret stone as further proof of their pact? there is so much shit to be said about the imperialistic themes or whatever in this fucking story and i really hate it

- i do kinda like how the next scene shows you that the one rock in the corner of that first hidden room in the forgotten temple is sonia’s grave

- zelda’s phrasing and description of how she and link found ganondorf is weird to me ‘he’s still alive’ ‘he lives on’ girl that was a mummy. he was not moving until you got there. he’s undead at best as far as you know. this is def a nitpick but eh. also the reliance on link is a... bit odd when zelda does not actually know that link is safe until she gets the master sword. its fine but still. also her shell-shocked expression after rauru talks about her being in the past for a reason is a bit... it doesn’t fit her emotion it’s kind of similar to the expression she had when sonia was killed

- the memory about the imprisoning war starts with practically the whole story up until now being repeated back to you by mineru with a decent amount of bias on mineru’s part and while it’s fine because of some of the extra stuff you learn but it does a lot more telling rather than showing when it comes to the actual imprisoning war and... idk the whole thing about their ‘fight’ kind of falls flat when you don’t actually see any fighting you just see that the sages have gotten their asses beat. i think it would have been a little interesting if in the god-awful repetitive sage-awakening scenes they had actually showed you the og sages fighting ganondorf instead of just. slow-mo freeze-frames for whatever. once again ganondorf if the best part of the scene

- the rest of the memories are fine idc

i get the feeling that the japanese-to-english translation was either all-around rough or somehow rushed, because some of the phrases in the game as well as some of the dialogue is really awkward and... could have been better. i don’t know how it works but it feels like a lot of it was very literal, direct translation and no one at noa thought that it ought to be tweaked just a little bit

these memories also do a fuck-ton of telling rather than showing and it really is like they don’t really trust you to connect the dots, and some of it does come off like they either didn’t want to make more memories or ran out of time or something. i felt like the memory of ganondorf just summoning his monsters and riding on his cool horse could have been a bit longer to actually show us the forces of hyrule fighting him and having a hard time with it

a lot of the character animations doesn’t have a whole lot of personality to them, ganondorf is the character who had the most distinct and interesting movements. rauru and sonia had their... singular movement (rauru putting a hand to his chin and sonia taking zelda’s hands) and zelda was kind of just... standing around and reacting to stuff, and neither mineru nor any of the other sages had any really interesting animations asides from mineru’s coughing fit in memory 16 (plus her reclining chair that was a nice touch). very few of their movements really express anything about the characters besides some really baseline values or traits.

the ordering of some memories is kind of odd, the excessive flashbacks in memory 17 are a bit much, the telling rather than showing, the sometimes awkward dialogue, a lot of the scenes are characters just... talking at each other, you don’t actually see very much of hyrule in the past or any characters beyond the main four, and it really did nothing to actually get me to care about these characters at all.

He gives off a more "evil, avoid at all costs, worldwide disaster" vibe than Gilbert ever did. My first thought upon seeing him was, "omg- Vlad???" But then I read his description and thought, "ohhh. So Vlad, but evil. Like if Vlad and Motonari had a baby..."

Harrison Gray

First thought, "yo, Edgar, what are you doing here??" Like bro does look like Edgar, even his description screams Edgar to me. I've seen others compare him with Nokto, but I havent paid much attention to Nokto so maybe thats why I cant see it? Idk. But yeah, I guess since Ikerev is over, Edgar had to find a new profession :/

Liam Evans

Omg, look. Loki grew up, he's a big kid now!

Idk how to really react to this one? Like, ok, he's got the chesire cat curse or whatever, he looks a bit like Loki, ..and he's supposed to be sexy? I mean, I see the vibe they were going for. But if they try to shove that "drop-dead gorgeous" or "sexy ladies man" shit down our throats like they did with Yoshimoto and Shingen in Ikesen (could also probably find other examples in the other games..) then I might end up hating him.

I cant really think of any ikemen series characters he reminds me of, at least not appearance. But with the part in his description that says "An egoist who seems rational and will go to any lengths for his own research." makes me think of Faust for some reason..

He doesnt immediately remind me of anyone. Ive seen comparisons to Clavis and Silvio, which kinda makes sense? I guess I could see it. The uhh "A twisted man, he has a promise he wants to fulfill and a sullen heart." at first made me think of Mitsuhide. But then I remembered the definition of sullen and that doesnt fit Mitsu. But I guess the having many enemies and being seen as a cold-blooded person who loves the despair and misfortune of others DOES fit Mitsuhide, at least on the surface. Idk. Im bad at analysis like this.

So.. A lot of people speculate he's the one who put the curses on the others, because his own curse is scratched out. Like we cant read it. Some have compared him to Sariel, because he's like the guide in the game. But also uhh- sorta reminds me of Amon. Maybe its the long hair (probably is).

ST: background vulcans. especially in TNG when they just stopped giving a fuck about them, thank god tuvok exists or i wouldve had no incentive at all to actually watch part of VOY.

ST: kai winn. shes literally an alien white woman and its fantastic. she did her role so good that the poor actress got hatemail, and her insidiousness is just so well done. the final season of ds9 isnt that good but it was fun to see her go off the rails with dukat.

aside from that though like.... in private? I suppose this may be more of a tone thing and I'm a VERY mid writer so I couldn't even tell you how I'd show this of the top of my head but I suppose he's more... clearly affectionately teasing? because yeah he obviously stays teasing and calls him a fat bastard in private still and such but it's very obvious if you look at them for a second that it's like a far cry from how he treats everyone else (smth smth his gaze very clearly softens and he allows himself to giggle and you can tell that they have been knowing each other for a long time)

Cas is the type of person that will literally leave the city for months or lock himself in and try to "become a new person" (he literally has moment where he's like "maybe I should just become who Bhaal wants me to be. maybe it would be easier") if there's some dispute with Gortash. It usually ends with Gortash forcing him to meet him again and Cas being something along the lines of "oh my fucking god can I just stop loving you already" but yeagh u know the fact that Gortash is kinda the only person he ever liked or even saw as a friend just makes it worse tbh

and the insecurities/delusions thing? yeah exactly what you said. a lot of his insecurities are insane too tbh like "I can never be what everyone desires" but then he loses it if he's NOT what someone desires, Gortash saying smth along the lines of "I like women too" would be enough to make him walk off a ledge because he can't be that part (smth smth I can be most perfect man on the planes but I'll never be a woman. funnier when u know he could use incubus illusion magic but he refused to his whole life). But anyways yeah as I said once Cas is like... a DEEPLY insecure person at his core even if he'd never admit or think that it shows

good timing anon, i actually replayed it pretty recently with a friend of mine (wanted to play the recent re-translation, very much recommend it, its much better than Nexus's halfhearted mess) so my opinions on it are fresh!!

the short answer is. Its so jank. and probably objectively not a very good game, and there are definitely things i would change about it if i could. But i still really like it for what it is. It's got a unique identity in the series and I love that about it!

im gonna talk a lot now so under the readmore this goes ^_^

i love that transformation mode is just if fever rules were an insane mess. why does it go up to 99 seconds. why does mega mode send SO much damage. god bless it<3 they should bring it back. wanna see what hellfire comet festivals shibakazu would cook up in it.

and like the story is.... not. well paced. but ive learned to laugh about it at least. and like suuuuuure ecolo shows up at the end and then hypes up how unstoppably powerful they are and how ringo could NEVER BEAT THEM and then gets defeated in 10 seconds because the final boss is a joke. its fine<3 at least its actually fun to play and doesnt take a million years to trudge through so the bad pacing doesnt feel nearly as awful. (puyo chronicle i am giving you a little glare)

ive grown to love the jank art style but i will say, i wish they redrew everyone. ringo standing next to characters clearly just with sprites edited from 15th anniversary or fever 2 make her stick out quite a bit. it makes me wonder if the game's art was really rushed or something? it just feels a bit off.

another thing, i dont think this game is a Bad introduction to ecolo at all (i Love their design in this game and i think it perfectly introduces how intensely powerful and unhinged they can be), BUT!!! their chain animations are really... disappointing. idk. i Like that they shapeshift into other characters i think thats fun (i actually think its kind of a shame its a trait of theirs rarely brought up anymore) but the fact its mostly just the others' animations recolored black with some extra particle effects is really lame. minor differences like a more ecolo-like facial expression (get silly!! get mischievous!!!) couldve gone a long way to giving them more personality in their chains.

also relating to the past two notes, its really no secret that transformation mode is... Missing. Quite a bit of assets it really should have. considering a decent handful of characters only go through very minor changes (darkle is literally just a clothing color swap) and honestly Ecolo (since all of their chains are borrowed) still only changing to feli for mini and klug for mega is SUCKS i think and it makes me the most upset out of the cast.. ecolo's already transforming when they're not in fever!!!!! lets do something else!!!!!

this is just a reaaally quick mockup scribble of an idea i had that id been discussing with my friend, but i think it'd be really fun if instead of doing a simple character shapeshift, they got real small and silly looking for their mini form and HUGE AND OVERBEARING AND INTIMIDATING for mega. the core would stay the same size, for scale! pp7 is the game that leans the hardest into ecolo being someone who can switch from silly little thang to terrifying cosmic being of sheer force on a dime, and i think itd be fun if their transformations reflected that.

like idk ecolo is the Debut final boss and (imo) one of the coolest characters in the series so i think it sucks that they got the short end of the stick in the battle animations area in this game.

like ive been saying I've grown to love many of Puyo 7's problems but this is one thing i would definitely change if i could.

favourite oc - ok thats a very difficult and unfair question, i love all of them so so much, they all mean a lot to me for different reas– ravell. its a toss between ravell and kaz tbh but. ravell. ravell means Everything to me.

newest oc - probably avery? whom i dont talk about a whole lot because they are from the [redacted] Duology 🙃. if we consider an oc from 2 and a half years ago new lmao. listen, i havent been making new ocs much, i just had a period of time when i made a bunch. so avery is a very rare exception of a new oc. im honestly surprised she sort of.. stuck around and i genuinely love her a lot. she was made out of the need to play as a new h*wke because ive been playing as the same one since the dawn of time. she gave my game experience a much needed fresh air and some nuance too.

oldest oc - ravell. or the version of. ravell in sk/rim was very much based on an already existing original character and those two characters still somehow intertwine to this day. there are subtle differences but they are more or less the same person. but when it comes to ocs i talked about on here, which are usually just ocs for this or that game, excluding any original story ones then yeah its ravell.

meanest oc - lyrhis? i know i still present her on here as a dos2 oc but she is an original story oc and i only put her in dos2 because 1) it felt like it would fit her 2) she is important to me and i wanted to be able to still talk about her on here without feeling like she doesnt fit in because she isnt from a game lol. i think her being "mean" is more about her being generally very otherwordly, inhuman and therefore aloof - which can get interpreted as mean i guess - because her perception of things is very different. calling her "mean" even feels weird because that word implies this sort of.. human meanness, spitefulness, generally being malicious for some reason. if anything calling her "mean" is maybe an understatement. she is just kinda cold-blooded, cruel, ruthless. ok you know who is actually a mean oc. evan. he is the opposite of what i just said about lyrhis. he isnt cruel or cold-blooded, but he is spiteful, malicious and can cause a lot of harm with only his words and need for revenge or simple spite. i think that to be mean one still has to be human, its a human trait. and he is human, there is a reason for why he is like that. lyrhis isnt human in the first place.

softest - hera 😔 literally my only normal oc. and she spends a lot of time in the sewers, talks to her rats and overall is a bit Odd but. she is the least evil out of my ocs and carries the least amount of baggage lmao. sure she has been through shit but she is the only oc that turned out "fine" after her personal trauma. but other than that she is very compassionate, considerate and has a strong moral code

most aloof/standoffish - well idk. its a toss between lyrhis i guess for reasons i already mentioned and then wren. which is quite a difference lmao. those two come to mind first but then also ravell, ives and avery. eh, most of my ocs probably seem standoffish, its one of their most common traits. but in conclusion i would say wren? if only because wren is actually a lot like hera, my other more or less only normal oc with an actual moral code and someone who has other people's interests and feelings in mind. but unlike hera wren outwardly appears very cold and most people would describe them as aloof. they are simply distant and keep to themselves but definitely are not internally aloof, they feel a lot, they simply don't show it. but the aloofness of others (ravell, ives, avery…) definitely comes from a lack of emotional intelligence as well as simply being a reserved bunch in general

dumbest oc - probably ravell :( if we compare their general Knowledge about things with my other ocs they are definitely the dumbest. but they are not Stupid. i think them being dumb can just be summed up into them not Knowing many Things and acting/speaking without thinking. they dont do much thinking. which can lead to them making mistakes because they most often act on impulse. they are rational, they can be very smart and cunning, but also they do strike me as the dumbest of my ocs sometimes

smartest oc - hmmm. cant decide between lyrhis, evan, nate and kaz. leaning towards kaz fsr, even though outwardly he would appear as the dumbest out of this group. but i think the other 3 while being smart are also just generally very learned and academically smart. but kaz has that natural smartness about him. idk how to explain my brain power ran out half way into this tag game ngl

- Trunks playing Stardew Valley at his happiest and most content would be him Not Marrying Anyone. He doesnt care about romance. He just wants to fuck around and ball. He literally wants to play it in the most filthy-rich effective way, he wants to optimize every space, he wants to have 12 ostriches and 12 pigs and 24 dinosaurs and he wants to have a greenhouse full of sweet gem berries and Fern Island full of ancient fruit. He's filthy rich.

- Beyond that I think that Goten may point out "Woah dude Sebastian has a motorcycle hes just like you maybe you should be his BFF?!" and Trunks would feel a little hurt by that. Like, misunderstood. Like YEAH he has epic bikes that he tinkers with. But hes not the capsule corp kid that his mother was or that his sister is. Hes more than that. Hes an #epicgamer. He'd be a little hurt that Goten would shove him into that category so senselessly like that. Trunks hates Sebastian now. Fuck Sebastian. Sebastian sucks

- Similiarly he may feel tempted into romancing Maru because shes a girl and a scientist so they're suppsoed to go together. But that's exactly why he doesnt want to. He has the opposite of an Oedipus complex

- To Comment on the Alex thing: Omg well. Here's how I think that that would go. I think that Trunks would try to get full hearts with everyone to try to 100% the game in a way. And also as a way to procrastinate choosing a spouse that hes really not interested in. So what he does is he dates all of the dateable characters at the same time. If you know Stardew Valley then you may know that if you do that, it may trigger a cutscene where all the men or all the women figure out what you're doing. So to remedy that, he just never enters Emily + Haley's house or the Tavern ever, to avoid triggering those cutscenes and having everyone break up with him.

But during this little gambit he has to romance all the men too and it feels a bit odd to him but whatever he'll do it. He feels a bit repulsed at times but mostly hes an epic gamer and hes in control and after a bit he gets comfortable enough to actually think that it's funny. He fancies himself a player. Clicking all the right buttons.

What he keeps thinking is funny is the way that the male characters ACT - to him, he thinks that they're responding to the romance like women! They blush and act flattered. They get embarrased and flustered which he feels is more accurate but they also sometimes act like the women, the way that they're so sensitive. He of course thinks like this becasue he is a cityboy. Someone rural like Goten wouldn't see gender in that behavior, but humanity instead.

So Trunks is romancing all these dudes and he thinks it's funny and he arrives at Alex and hes like Yeah piece of cake. I know these types of dudes like the back of my hand. I went to school with this dude. I know him.

And he keeps thinking it's funny the way that he can just, like, click the right options, say the right things, gift the right gifts, and hes got him wrapped around his finger. All blushing. He's like "This is the funniest god damn game."

But you know when you play a video game for too long it starts to bleed into real life? And you start to forget the ramifications of real things, like all the world's a game?

In a manner detached from himself, like how one is detached from the interactions in a video game, he starts to see potential for romancing dudes in real life too. Becasue it is literally, LITERALLY, so easy. Hes a gamer. He can play.

It's just that he never EVER would have done that before but Stardew Valley has DESENSITIZED him to it. And it happens accidentally; he gets into the habit of saying saccharine, transparent things on the game, and so he starts to see opportunity to say them in real life too. And during his attempts with Alex, theres a point where what hes learned translates into real life, and he says something to Goten that he now feels is easy and simple and not at a cost to him to say; and not what he would necessarily admit to be the truth; and hes surprised, because while it was easy to say, Goten has a strong response to it. He blushes and is like "awww thanks buddy..!" and gets all bashful and flattered. That easy! Just like on Stardew Valley!

Man, Trunks didnt know that he could play men like that. He didnt know that it went both ways. And much like a cat who discovers that if it pushes things off of a table it gets a strong response from the world, Trunks keeps doing it. It works because Goten has never known Trunks to be this easygoing and forthright with positivity / affirmations / compliments.

And that's all fine, and life continues in a pleasant manner, until Trunks suddenly comes back into reality with the absolute shock that he and his buddy Goten have been WAY too tender lately. Like, Trunks suddenly feels like he's been, like, leading him on. And that's fucked up to him. So he has to go hide and languish in his ivory tower until it all blows over.

But Goten never thought anything of any of it. He just understand the situation to be newfound days of unbridled affection, which he appreciated, and which is fine and proper between two best bros. And then Trunks disappears for a while because he's "busy" or something and that is fine by Goten too.

I dont know where to go with this. But I like the idea that Trunks is just so tickled by how easy it was that he goes on ahead and marries Alex in stardew valley. And then henceforth hes a part of his daily routine, every morning he gives him a gift before going out to put more dinosaur eggs in the mayo machines. That's his husband. No Alex doesnt give him rare or cool items. Yes Trunks gives him whatever he wants. Why? Dunno. Hes filthy rich and has a husband he spoils. Just 'cause it was easy.

- You didnt ask but if Gotenks played Stardew Valley then he wouldnt be interested in the farming and he would just keep going in the mines and would probably rather be playing minecraft. But then he happens to see Sam on his skateboard and hes like WOOOAAAHHHHH YOU CAN DO THAT??! and he immediately finds and downloads a mod that changes the horse function into a skateboard and then he likes the game more after that. And though he says hes not interested in romance, he falls victim to Penny's sweet and nurturing charm and has to take her as his wife .. it wasnt up to him. His heart decided.

- Goten playing Stardew Valley would be him walking around in misfitted armour picking up foragables amd growing some crops amd petting chickens. And be would come to feel very sweetly about Maru and honestly would know since day one that it was meant to be. He shops around a bit and detours for a while but he comes back to her. He defintiely feels like she is more competent and knowledgeable than he is and that is why he likes her so ... For that is the pattern for everyone that Goten is closest to (Gohan & Videl, Trunks) so it's a situation that Goten is comfortable with + feels loved and secure in.

omg idk how far along u are in the crown so pls feel free to answer this later but the press was droning ONNNNN about how both charles and diana r portrayed as equally to blame and i dont think that’s particularly true? 😭 yes i believe diana was given a much more complex character than shes usually afforded in biopic adjacent media (i actually gasped when they let her be as charismatic as we’re often told she was irl) but that doesnt mean it was a negative portrayal? even in her more “selfish” moments, and this might just be me being biased lol, but i was fully on her side. its almost like people dont think diana can be sympathetic if she actually fights back against the the system and the people that have trapped her 😭 this all being said i think charles’ portrayal was tooo positive…. but i dont expect less from PM

The thing is that there absolutely are people who want to put Diana up on a pedestal as this poor little girl lost who had the best of intentions but was fragile and craaaazy and only acted out because other people (not the Windsors) manipulated her poor, silly self. That is what the Windsors are putting out there. That is what the press is playing into. Fuck, that's what William put out there. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Martin Bashir acted entirely ethically; but frankly, if it hadn't been him, Diana would've eventually said that shit to someone else (and she PRETTY MUCH DID to Andrew Morton, lmao). She was spitting mad.

And the thing is? She had a right to be. Diana was seduced into a horrible marriage with a man 12 years her senior as a literal teenager. She had two kids with the man, was continuously gaslit by him, his mistress, his entirely family, most of their social circle... She wasn't perfect, and she had mental health issues that would've likely existed without Charles, but lmao. The woman was emotionally abused by those people for like... her entire marriage. Which covered most of her adulthood. She had a right to be angry.

If you think that her reacting and acting badly in turn is like... less sympathetic, you just have a very black and white view of the world. Someone can be very kind to those in need and have a mean streak towards people they clash with. Someone can be serious about charity work and enjoy the attention. All of these things can be true, and these things all existing in one person doesn't mean they're suddenly shitty lmao. You have to evaluate people (and their behaviors) as individuals.

Idk, to me Diana being selfish at points makes me more sympathetic to her than I would be if she were just a long-suffering angel. She was a fucking human being. She was very loving to her children (and most children), she was incredibly charismatic, she genuinely cared about serious issues and did what she could to bring attention to them... She also had a partygirl streak (lmao the company she kept--Elton John, George Michael, Gianni Versace, COME ON SHEEPLE), could be self-absorbed and catty, and was very needy. She was super genuinely hurt by these people, and knew how to play her audience like a fiddle. All of this... can be true. I think she was, at heart, a good but complicated person. And I appreciate that. That's why I am so fascinated by her--she's this goddess figure in the press, but when you research her she's deeply relatable. I loved that they brought shit up like her calling her stepmother Acid Raine. Anyone who's had a shitty stepmom can relate to that.

mannnn the rvb writers did washington so dirty. like, theres the obvious example from the Season That Shall Not Be Named, but even from the very beginning......

when he first shows up, hes shown to be very traumatized by what happened with epsilon. refusing to let another ai in his head, and spacing out in the middle of a conversation..... like he doesnt even have much screentime and hes so clearly affected by it.

then in the recollection they write it off by saying that the ACTUAL reason he didnt want another ai was because he knows about the alpha and stuff. then theres one throwaway line from alpha about "youve got some heavy stuff in there" and thats it. and not saying that he couldnt ignore it and push through it and ACT like hes fine, im just saying that they made it such a major part of who he is and then never addressed it again.

and also: the fact that he fully betrays the reds and blues for his own personal gain??? and not only did the reds and blues take him in after he did nothing to redeem himself (believeable tbh), there was no conflict! no tension! i mean, a couple seasons later tucker and church get into a HUGE fight because church left them without saying goodbye, but when someone who legitimately tried to kill them for his own gain shows up, theyre all just like "yeah thats chill". ??????

and like, my problem isnt that it HAPPENED, lots of nonsensical stuff happens in this show. its that they never addressed it! wash didnt do ANYTHING to show that he had changed, at least on screen, and now we're supposed to believe that hes part of the family? the freelancer saga would have been a GREAT place for a wash redemption arc, especially as tensions rise after carolina shows up. i mean, sarge does have some distrust in washington, but its framed as "silly sarge, wash is a friend!" like- he literally shot donut!! hello???? and the bit where wash stands up to carolina would have been that much more meaningful if wash had to fight to earn the trust of the reds and blues, instead of playing both sides.

and then on chorus he FINALLY actually gets a character arc, but it doesnt really fit him at all?? like, the fact that hes focused on surviving, and frustrated that the reds and blues are dicking around? totally plausible. but why the obsession with turning the blues into good soldiers? to prove himself as a leader? why?? im not saying its a bad arc, i really like it! it just doesnt really track with what we've learned about wash so far.

season 15 he gets very little screentime, and most of what he does get is actual brain damage used for a cheap joke (which.... disappointed but not surprised, given how the show treats caboose)

the rest of the shisno trilogy he has a solid arc about coming to terms with his disability, but i feel like at some points its still used as a cheap joke? idk id have to rewatch it, i think the characters are pretty serious about it, but i feel like there were times where youre meant to laugh because "haha hes so silly now!" which...... yeesh

and then. AND THEN. THE ABSOLUTE AUDACITY TO WRITE IT OUT IN THE VERY NEXT SEASON???? as if the whole shisno trilogy didnt happen???? the fact that they immediately sidelined wash and carolina is bad enough, but thats just a whole new level.

anyway wash is my fave and theres so many things about him that i would have LOVED to see explored in the show. and instead we got this.

I think I'm getting good at consistent use of imagery for characters that layers and carries across a fic! It's expecially nice to do for Kim or Chay POV (my little songwriter duo) who I imagine have a very good sense for those kinds of pretty descriptions and metaphors and use them in their heads!

💖 What do you like most about your own writing?

I really love consistent use of imagery in fics, especially ones that feed into eachother and build on top of eachother across several scenes. I'm definitely not perfect at it but it's one of the things that I'm really proud of in the KimBig story! (For context, they're both processing the fact that Kinn was kidnapped and shot and almost died)

Kim and Big are both heavily represented by fire, so lots of sparks and smoke and burning etc. and the warmth vs the volitility. I hoped by making the imagery consistent I'd give the sense of them desperately seeking warmth but also destroying themselves in the process. It gets referred to as "a mutual immolation" at one point, which I think sums the fic up pretty well!

By contrast, Kinn's metaphors are very cold and water based. In the beginning for example, there hasn't been any rain in Bangkok since Kinn left, but by the end when Kim has processed that Kinn is safe, it's raining outside.

For the layering; In the aftermath, Kim refers to his grief surrounding Kinn with this imagery of standing on a shoreline waiting for a tsunami to hit. So where Kim and Big come together and create a little fire, all of Kim and Big's feelings surrounding Kinn gets represented by this huge inevitable force of water that completely extinguishes what little warmth Kim and Big have sought out.

IDK probably a horrible explaination and I swear it's much more subtle in the fic haha! I dont want to be too self congratulatory about it because I am aware that that style of writing isn't for everyone and it's also a fic for such a ridiculous rare-pair that literally 6 people max are going to read. BUT in the interest of self-indulgent explorations of metaphor.... it's fun and I'm kinda proud of it hehe

🌝 Who is one character you haven’t yet written for that you would like to?

I answered Chan here (for so many reasons!) but I have spent the last several months WISHING I understood Ken well enough to write him!

He's just such a mix of things I struggle with as a writer - He's incredibly direct (to the point of cruelty) and I imagine it's similiar in his inner world as well, which takes a lot of my beloved imagery and metaphorical speak off the table. Plus he doesnt strike me as someone that's particularly introspective or self aware. If someone calls him out on something, he's much more likely to respond by lashing out than he is to absorb any kind of reasonable criticism or change his behaviour.

Paired with Big (and he *wILL* be paired with Big) there are just so many ways that those dynamics could play off eachother. I feel like putting them in a scene together would be a case of the characters very much controlling the scene and not me and I LOVE to plan a scene haha!

I do imagine Ken has a bit of a superiority complex though, which WOULD be incredibly fun to write. Especially as it feeds into how he became the traitor! He's finally being appreciated as something more than one of Kinn's loyal dogs! (Read: he's Vegas' dog now) If Big doesnt want him then he doesnt care! that doesnt matter because Vegas wants him! (Read: Vegas is manipulating him, Ken is lying to himself)

I literally love him so so much but writing him TERRIFIES me!!

I'm currently completely re-working the KimBig kiss! once I'm done with that it's just........... betas and posting??? aah!?

Big's hand feels like static where it rests at his back. He stays still, he leans up, he goes where Kim guides him, but he’s almost sickeningly pliant, the only indication he’s affected at all is the uneven hitch in his breath as he kisses Kim back, meeting his mouth with a gentleness that’s almost cruel. His lips are soft but the sparks aren’t catching fast enough and all Kim wants is to be consumed. It’s not enough. It occurs to Kim that this, all of this, is a terrible idea. The thought, once distant and impassive, now spreads in ice-shard splinters across his skin. They should stop. Kim should stop.  Kim should let him leave. But that thought is worse. It constricts in his lungs and warps his vision in a rush of vertigo. ‘Please,’ Kim thinks. His desperation beats in time with the pounding of blood in his ears. ‘Please. please. please. please.’  He doesn’t think he says it out loud but he must have done something, whispered something, thought it loud enough that Big could hear; because suddenly there’s a shift. There’s a sharp intake of breath, the sensation of Big's fingers curling into a fist through the fabric of his t-shirt, then Big is taking his bottom lip between his teeth and Kim’s thoughts finally, finally go up in smoke.
