Senki Zesshou Symphogear XV. I have finished it at last. I'm kinda tearing up rn cause I didn't think it was gonna be this influential on me. It just. Hits me. Hits me in a place where i didn't think I'd be hit again. Knowing this is the final season makes me sad, but at least it went out singing
Just had a Thought and now I'm curious. What's you guy's strangest comfort media? It doesn't have to be strange as in like creepy/fucked up/whatever, it can just be smthn a lil odd.
the weather here has been incredibly icky so I watched The Guy Who Didn't like Musicals for the first time and Joey Richter always makes the best expressions
something entirely batshit about forcing a 25 year old cd player and a spectacularly scratched cd that your neighbors band made in 2005 into submission and having an absolutely epic childhood moment
hey did you know i love this scene. so much. anthy being out late, either to be mamiya or visit akio i assume, and utena trying to stay up for her until she comes back. she has tea while watching something on anthy's tv, wishing she was there with her. she ends up falling asleep at the table despite trying her best not to. and she has a dream. she dreams of her parents' funeral. the day her and anthy first met, even though she doesn't consciously remember that yet. and anthy, when she does return home, sees utena lying there with her hand outstretched, and she joins her at the table. she puts her hand on top of utena's, even though this is a terrible position to sleep in, because she just wants to be close to her. and then utena wakes up in the middle of the night and is surprised to see anthy there. "she came back." because on some level utena didn't think she would after she yelled at her in the previous episode. she was afraid that she had pushed anthy away. and utena looks at her sadly, starting to realize. "you can't quit being the rose bride, can you?" one of the first real moments of understanding between them (and every time they will sleep like this going forward, holding each other's hand, they will both be trying to deepen that understanding further. though this moment is special, because it's the first and only time it happens outside of akio's tower.) utena turns her hand to hold anthy's closer, because despite the role anthy is playing and despite utena's newfound understanding of it, they do genuinely care about each other, and they want to be together. anthy reaching out for utena first when she came back was genuine. it was something she chose to do because she wanted it, not because she had to. and utena wants it too. we see a flash of their hands being pulled apart, like in the opening and in the finale, a piece of foreshadowing telling us that, no matter how hard they try, or how much they want to, they will not be able to stay together. but their love is there, and it matters that it is there, and they can find each other again. someday.
