Could you expand on your Yan!Boothill having a housewife thoughts... 👉👈 pretty please
Okay, bae if you insist~
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
How you came into Boothill's possession is a bit vague. But really it doesn't matter. He's insisted you call him your "husband" from the first time you woke up from your blunt force-induced slumber.
He LOVES to doll you up, all cute dresses, fine jewels and high heels. You look like someone out of those ancient TV shows from the past century. But Boothill finds you cute, so darling, and all so perfect.
Boothill will always refer to you as his wife or little wife. It's the only endearing term that still makes it past his broken Synesthesia Beacon. You hate the word, it makes your bones rattle. There's something so unnatural about that word, when it comes from him.
He always has you perched on his lap regardless of the setting. He could be in an important meeting with the other Galaxy Rangers, or just polishing off his guns at home. Doesn't matter either way you're sitting pretty on his thigh or straddling his lap. One of his hands always wrapped tightly around you waiste. Sometimes he holds you so gently like you're a delicate desert flower. Other times he presses constellation bruises into your skin, a special treat he'll enjoy kissing later.
He also loves to come home to your cooking. You may not be so fond of playing house with your capturer but oh boy does he love it. He also likes to play into his fantasies, taking you to galactic saloons/cantinas or local smoothy places. It's all innocent and fun, right?
Not quite, on your way home he'll lean into your ear, bitting your lobe playfilly. "If you can run past those two buildings, I'll let you go free, you'll finally be rid of me. You'd like that wouldn't you, little bitch?"
So you try, you run and run until one of those damned heels nicks the pavement and have you fall over. But right before your precious little body can hit the hard ground, a golden lasso coils around you. Squeezing the air out of your wheezing lungs. It's futile, no matter how much you kick and scream and beg, Boothill will still pull you back into his awaiting arms. Keeping the rope wrapped tightly around you and carrying you back home. He kisses and bites your neck and ears all the way. Whispering every single thing he's going to do to you once he gets you home.
By the way, does anyone know who the "adorable little troublemakers" he's referring to are?

So recently I have been on a huge tabletop RPG kick so I thought it would be fun to talk about Class 1-A playing their own tabletop game, both the characters they'd play and how they'd be as players. For the sake of this, I will be writing in the context of Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition since that's the system myself and others would be the most familiar with.
Tumblr media
Rikido Sato: Half Orc Life Cleric Doesn't really get the game too much. Tends to forget the rules a lot and his own abilities. Just kind of picked a class at random. Is the king of bringing snacks and the like, all of which are homemade.
Mashirao Ojiro: Wood Elf Open Hand Monk Pretty average in all respects as a player. Not too remarkable in all respects. Doesn't realized how bad the monk is until they started playing, but is too attached to the character and their concept.
Koji Koda: Firbolg Shepard Druid Is only really here to hang out with his friends. Too shy to really do any roleplay with the rest of the gang, mostly doing small moments with his animals friends. Accidently made an overpowered build.
Minoru Mineta: Dhampir Phantom Rogue Knows the rules, but is a power gamer. Uses the game more as a power fantasy to look as cool as possible at all times, even if it is dumb, though will quickly panic if anything goes slightly wrong.
Hanta Sero: Gith Horizon Walker Ranger Really interested in all the lore and history of whatever the dungeon master came up with. The kind that dungeon masters either love or dread. Is the one constantly asking question and cracking the odd joke about it.
Toru Hagakure: Changeling Arcane Trickster Rogue Super big into the roleplay of it all and is always excited. Mostly took Changeling so she'd have the excess to play as many roles as possible. Probably makes little masks to remind people who she currently is.
Yuga Aoyama: Aasimar Glory Paladin Is insanely devoted to the role of the noble paladin, much to the detriment of everyone else. Likely says the line "But it's what my character would do more then any other player. Constantly hints at a backstory that nobody is biting on.
Mezo Shoji: Hobgoblin Gloomstalker Ranger Not the biggest into roleplay, does fairly well with the actual gameplay. Plays the typically reserved ranged. Tried to tie his and Koda's backstory together to try and take some of the stress off of him in terms of roleplaying.
Kyoka Jiro: Half Elf Whispers Bard Wasn't really sure about all of this before play and went with a bard because she liked the idea of playing music. It was a rocky start, but quickly got into it and started having fun. Will make custom songs and playlists for the party, as well ambient tracks and battle music.
Denki Kaminari: Air Genesi Storm Sorcerer Wanted to try it out because it was popular. Went with something he thought was cool and did not expect it to be so complicated. Needs to be constantly handed the book and remined of the rules in order to make sure he gets it. The amount of math hurts his head. Eijiro Kirishima: Goliath Giant Barbarian Like Denki, wanted to get into because it was popular. Bakugou helped a lot with building the character. Has a lot of fun smashing stuff. Plays his role pretty well, even if his character doesn't go beyond the nice brute whose name is very close to Kirishima's own.
Mina Ashido: Satyr Glamour Bard One of the students the most into the roleplaying. Is very light hearted and goofy about the whole thing. Can play a lot in bard stereotypes because she thinks it's funny. Another instigator, though mostly from her getting too into character at the worst of times. Fumikage Tokoyami: Tiefling Fiend Warlock Has been playing the game the longest and super familiar with all of it. Always makes characters he thinks are "cool", which means are super gothic and depress, both in class and in race. Does occasionally have Dark Shadow dress up and roleplay as his patron. Ochako Uraraka: Fairy Zealot Barbarian Ochako just wants to smash stuff. She has a lot of fun rolling dice and doing cool stuff with her friends, both good and bad. Likes playing the typically pixie before going nuts. Can be an instigator, but tends to backtrack when she realizes just how badly it goes wrong. Tsuyu Asui: Halfling Moon Druid Like Koda, is mostly here to have fun with friends. Often plays mediator both in and out of character. Does a good job with roleplaying thanks to how much she had to play pretend with her simplies. Always causes a riot whenever she becomes a dinosaur. Shoto Todoroki: Hill Dwarf Fighter Champion One of the worst players both in game and in roleplay. Played a character Izuku basically made for him. Is somehow still one of the best because he is constantly getting amazing rolls at the most critical moments, much to the frustration of Bakugou.
Katsuki Bakugo: Custom Lineage Chronurgy Wizard Powergamer, no question. He knows the rules back and forth to make the most broken build possible. Acts like D&D is a game you can win, even when it comes to roleplaying. Not a full on murder hobo, but by far the biggest instigator in the group.
Tenya Iida: Warforged Devotion Paladin Very much devoted to the rules, both in and out of the game. Gets confused when people say that he's doing a good job at playing a robot. Collects a lot of dice. One of the best Dungeon Masters of any of the students, though can be rather controlling at times. Momo Yaoyorozu: High Elf Forge Cleric A really good player with the rules though can be pretty awkward with the roleplay with how much she tries to get into it. One of the best DMs in the class. Makes custom miniatures for everyone in the party. Puts a lot of money to make the ultimate game room. Izuku Midoriya: Variant Human Bladesinging Wizard The perfect player. Knows the roles, but focuses more on making characters. Takes the most notes, pay attention, and makes sure everyone is having fun and feels included. Likely gets roped into the role of dungeon master more then anyone else because of these reasons.

primarily english speaking qsmp members as D&D characters because I can't help but fuse both of my current fixations together
Philza — species for this one was tricky, class and subclass a little harder, but I ultimately decided on aasimar ranger (horizon walker). kept trying to pick between aasimar and air genasi, almost put air genasi because I felt like qfoolish fit aasimar better, but they can both be aasimar it's fine. by the time I finish writing this, foolish might not even be an aasimar anymore, im still thinking. regardless, qphil has always been a bit of a tactician and a bowman, hasnt he? classic traits of a ranger. from there, it felt like horizon walker was the only subclass that fit. protecting from otherworldly threats, preserving life and other planes. yeppp sounds like this paranoid motherfucker right here.
BadBoyHalo — now that's a tiefling if I've ever seen one. class is a little more complicated. I've deliberated between paladin and warlock before eventually settling on paladin, making him a tiefling paladin (ancients). I don't have to explain the tiefling part (have you seen his everything?), but the paladin part could use it. we're yet to really see qbad make any real deals with any powerful forces, so that took out the warlock part for me. I wanted to make sure he had at least a little bit of magic though (c'mon), so I immediately went to paladin, and it worked out. he's a dedicated man! he'll make a promise and he'll fuckin stick to it. I debated between devotion and ancients after that, but devotion tends to have a more lawful side, which ended with me choosing ancients. they fight the darkness because they love life, plain and simple, and you're dull if you can't see how much this dude loves life.
FitMC — alright, I'm sorry, I had to do it, but this is a human fighter (rune knight) right here. I simply couldnt see him as anything other than human, and rogue and artificer didn't fit since there's other characters that fit those classes so much better, so fighter it was. still, qfit has a lot of cool gadgets and bits and bobs, and I wanted to recognize that in this adaptation of him, so I decided to show that through the rune knight subclass. rune knight fighters can do a lot of cool shit with their runes, enhancing pretty much anything they put their mind to. probably some shit he found scrawled in the horrors of 2b2t and decided to study.
Foolish — this one was hard! the fuck is this guy? I instinctively thought aasimar, but I already made qphil an aasimar, so I played around with different types of genasi and then goliaths, even minotaurs just trying to find something that fit the semi-inhuman sorta innately magical, physically strong being vibes. I think aasimar fit best, so then it was a matter of class. hes a builder! he builds shit. that's what qfoolish does. but he is NOT a mechanic and therefore not an artificer, not musical enough to be a bard, not angry enough to be a barbarian, so what the fuck is he? took a LOT of fucking around, but eventually I remembered the college of creation exists, and I felt it fit well enough, making him an aasimar bard (creation). he draws his power from his builds— he inspires with sight, not song. it's a unique take on a bard, but I've seen some awesome chef bards, so I think this works just fine. he's an architect bard.
Slimecicle — this one was FUN. 100% that's a fucking plasmoid. he's a goopy guy! then I experimented with different bard and rogue classes, thought maybe warlock for his deal with demon rubius, and then decided i couldn't disrespect the juanaflippa song and said fuck it, he can be a bard. again in correlation with the song, I went with valor, since he's telling her great story through the lyrics, keeping her memory alive with it. I DID consider spirits, however, since he actually managed to bring juanaflippa back, however briefly. still, I felt valor fit the bill just a little better. he's a plasmoid bard (valor).
JaidenAnimations — ohhh this one took some thought. I wanted her to be fairly humanoid while still having some subtle unusual traits, and elf was considered but it felt too regal. I almost considered kenku for how she tends to repeat what other people say, but it wasn't right. thought I'd try something a little strange, and I ended up with shifter! specifically wildhunt. class was just as difficult— she wasnt going to be any primarily martial classes, so that cut out a bunch, and she's not really faithful or super devoted, so that took out paladin, warlock, and cleric, and eventually I narrowed it down to sorcerer, picking aberrant mind for their mystery and influence on others. being the only woman in an island full of gay twinks is tough, man. she's a shifter sorcerer (aberrant mind).
Wilbur — half-elf bard (eloquence). this one came pretty quick to me, actually. the bard part is more than obvious, subclass picked for the number of times qwilbur's casually convinced other people to just go with the bit. he's a man of words, and he weaves them well. he can be damn persuasive, mixing in genuine arguments with small white lies, all while playing your heart strings just right. half-elf is almost entirely vibes honestly— human was too bland, elf too spicy, so we met in the middle.
DanTDM — this dude's been gone since the very fucking beginning pretty much. I almost want to make him a rogue just for that, but man, he's the diamond minecart, alright? I grew up watching him. it'd be a disservice not to make him an artificer. from there, alchemist best suited the vibes, since he never really did much of anything machinery-related. he is a human artificer (alchemist).

fics below the cut (listed in alphabetical order by title)
baby, i’m high octane, Jake Seresin, @laracrofted I could write papers and sing songs about how much I love this series. I refuse to remain calm about it because it is so devastatingly good. Ames has such a stunning way with words, I am always so immersed and transported and blown away by her work. There are lines in her stories that just stick with me for days and parts that I think about endlessly. (I’m also delicate about Delicate, do not get me started!) But BIHO is in a league of its own. Nora is an OC who you instantly love and root for right from the very first chapter. There is something so special about the way Jake is written in this story, the layer of depth he has is so compelling to me. And it has been such a treat going on the journey with them as they find their way to each other in the dreamiest of slowburns. Add this to the top of your TBR pile, you won’t be sorry!
can't unfeel that, Jake Seresin, @theharddeck I think about this fic A LOT. The yearning and pining and emotional intimacy is so deliciously angsty as these friends-with-benefits fight the deeper feelings they’re developing without knowing the other person is feeling the exact same way. Sana does an incredible job building the tension and exploring the dynamics between these two as they try (and fail) to keep it casual. It’s bittersweet, it’s juicy, it’s unforgettable. And fair warning, the smut in this will send you into a tizzy.
Government Issued, Bradley Bradshaw, @bradshawsbaby I love this trope so much, I get such a kick out of the idea that people are out there getting fined for “defacing Naval property”, but this one in particular is so much fun! There is a lovely sense of domesticity that makes this such a cozy, fluffy story to read. However, it’s the build up and the banter that never ceases to amuse me! I love to revisit when I need a good laugh.
Jealousy, Bradley Bradshaw, @gretagerwigsmuse I am the self appointed president of the Smart Aleck and Bradley fan club. These two have had me in a chokehold since the moment I read them and they haven’t let go of me since. I had such a hard time picking which to highlight for this because I love and reread so many (sending all my love to skyrockets in flight, afternoon delight). No one breaks my heart and puts it back together or makes me yearn and pine or giggle and blush like these two. They are my favorites and I’m so thankful for them because their story is so special. The care and attention to detail that Jordan puts into her fics is just unmatched. But there is something about Coach Dadley Dadshaw that just warms my heart in the best way. I love getting to see the sweet glimpses into the future and lovely life that these two get to build together, I’m truly so soft over it. This story in particular gets me with Dadley!Bradley, Jealous!Bradley, and all the witty banter that Jordan writes so well! It has got it all: fluffy feels, humor, and a dash of smutty goodness!
Mighty Fine, Bradley Bradshaw, @thebirdandthebee The way this fic gets me grinning and buzzing every time I read it! The fluffy, smutty adrenaline rush of it all! I have so much love for the smitten Rooster in this story! He is so gone and so soft for the OC Caroline, who is an absolute firecracker. The build up is such a fun one that you can’t help but cheer for him when he finally gets his girl!
No Sex with the Ex, Bradley Bradshaw, @tongue-like-a-razor  Lena has so many stories on her masterlist that I go back to again and again and again (shout out to The Zipper Incident and Faking It and Less Talk). She is the QUEEN of tension and electric, witty banter. They always read so effortlessly and I am constantly left in awe at the finesse of her storytelling! I always find myself swooning, and laughing, and yearning when I read her stories! There are so many things I love about this in particular from the Hangster bromance to the jealous!bradley to the pining of it all! No matter how many times I read it, I still get a little thrill from it!
Red Flags, Green Flags, Bradley Bradshaw, @roosterforme There’s a reason this story has 4K+ notes on it: it’s fun, it’s flirty, it’s perfect! "Are you asking me on a date while I'm technically still on a date with Jake?" you asked him with a grin.//"Oh, your date with Jake ended a good thirty minutes ago," he informed you with a very serious look. "Now you're on a first date with me. You having fun?"-- NEED I SAY MORE? Your honor, I rest my case.
Tuesday Night (prequel to Not A Coincidence), Bradley Bradshaw, @sehnsuchts-trunken There is nothing more that I love than a slow burn and some good old fashioned mutual pining, and this little duology has it in spades! Mary’s Reader is so quippy and sarcastic, the banter always gets me laughing. The tension and chemistry is so palpable in these fics, you can’t help but be greedy about wanting to read more! And it doesn’t hurt that Rooster is just so swoon worthy.
Untitled childhood Bradley series, Bradley Bradshaw, @the-ace-with-spades I have read a lot of angsty stories that hit me in the feels, but nothing has quite ruined me emotionally like this series has. This universe where after Carole’s death Bradley goes to live with Mav and Ice, as he tries to figure out where he fits in this new family is absolutely gut wrenching in the best way. There have been times where it was so hard to read because I was blinded by the tears in my eyes. The way it makes my heart ache! It’s still a work in progress, but I am so hopeful for a soft landing.
You Don’t Get to Taste the Honey Without the Sting of the Bee, Bradley Bradshaw, @notroosterbradshaw No list is complete without something from Cass! There are so many that I debated picking (g.u.y, the boyfriend experience, the 1%), but the angst in this one just sticks to my ribs and I think about it often. When Cass leans into the angst, she really LEANS into it and this one hurts so good. Bradley is so realistically flawed in a way that makes you want to shake him for being so blasé to his partner’s feelings. I love the way Reader sticks up for herself and I ache for her in the way her partner is the source of her pain. It’s complicated and messy and real and I love it. Hit me in the feels and I will come back for more, and Cass keeps me coming back for more!
Creator's Own
Give Me Your Hand {Here is My Heart} (2-part Series) The ‘Like I Can’ series is something that took on a life of its own. What was supposed to be a little one shot turned into a three part series that turned into a universe of its own that takes up half of my masterlist. I love writing for these two, but I am really partial to this little mini-series that explores their relationship and builds up to their first time together. I think there are some fun moments, but also some tender and emotional ones as they take that final step from being just friends to being something more. Next from me will be Vol. 2 to Leave a Light On!
Tag list and friends: @petcr3 @desert-fern @Sagittarius-Lovewitch @mygyn @sweetwhispersofchaos @horseshoegirl @the-annoying-fan @dingochef @moon42flight @thecitysgraveyard @ereardon @roosterforme @cherrycola27 @galaxy-of-stories @taytaylala12 @malindacath @violyn20 @awildewit @potato-girl99981 @shanimallina87 @blue-aconite @djs8891 @linkpk88 @furiousladyking @daggerspare-standingby @princess76179 @jstarr86 @hecate-steps-on-me @darkheartcherry @soulmates8 @roosters-girl @dempy @roosterisdaddy36 @hangmanscoming @s-u-t @mavrellover91 @chicomonks @averyhotchner

Four Headcanons About Jessica Rabbit
(Original post here.)
Headcanon A: Realistic
Jessica has a certain type of laugh that only Roger can cause. It's loud, it's long, and it sounds a bit like a witch's cackle. It doesn't fit her femme fatale persona at all.
Headcanon B: While It May Not Be Realistic, It Is Hilarious
Jessica has a little sister - sort of. Another animator attempted to copy Jessica's design and create his own version of her, but a mistake on the model sheet meant he ended up with a curvaceous redhead who was only six inches tall, not six feet tall. The animator cast her out, and Jessica took her under her wing.
The six-inch toon now goes by Joellyn Krupnick. She's smart, bookish and slightly shy, and she's determined to help make life better for other "fun-size" toons. She works as an architect and landlady, building and renting out apartments and houses that are suitable for smaller toons. (Two of her tenants went on to become the stars of a cartoon called Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers.)
Jessica regards Joellyn as her (very) little sister, and the two women get along well.
Headcanon C: Heart-Crushing and Awful, But Fun to Inflict on Friends
Jessica's maiden name was Jessica Joy. She used to work at the Peacock Palace, a theatre located on the outskirts of Toontown and close to the tunnel to the "real world". She was one of many "Peacock Ladies": humanoid toon women who would put on shows for the (usually male human) audience. They wore revealing costumes in different shades of blue with plenty of peacock feathers.
Jessica's owners were two brothers called Rocco and Dominick DeGreasy. They did not treat their Peacock Ladies very well at all. The Ladies didn't just sing and dance; they had to be open to "private appointments" with customers who had paid extra for the privilege. Anything could happen in these appointments, and it was rarely fun for the Ladies. (In fact, the appointments were where Rocco and Dominick made the most money; the nightly shows were just a respectable face to keep the authorities off their backs.)
Jessica was drawn to be submissive and do whatever the humans told her to do. For a long time, she didn't feel strong enough to try to leave the Peacock Palace, convinced that this was her purpose, her reason for existing, and that she had no choice but to fulfill it.
It wasn't until after Roger burst into her life that Jessica slowly but surely built up the courage to change her situation.
As a side-effect of her bad experiences while wearing those blue costumes, Jessica now hates the colour blue. The only shade of blue she can tolerate is the one in Roger's eyes.
Headcanon D: Unrealistic, But I Will Disregard Canon About It Because I Reject Canon Reality and Substitute My Own
The 1970s were a dark decade for the Rabbits. In 1973, Eddie Valiant passed away. In 1978, Maroon Cartoons went out of business. Roger was deeply shaken by both events. He tried to keep the smile on his face, especially as he looked for work elsewhere, but in private he was much gloomier and less inclined to tell jokes.
Jessica wasn't doing too badly in comparison - she'd released some disco albums that kept her and her husband living comfortably - but she felt powerless to do anything about Roger's depressive state. He'd always been the one cheering her up, not the other way around. She tried to stay strong for his sake, but she couldn't deny that Eddie's death and the collapse of Maroon Cartoons made her feel uneasy too. She needed alone time to process everything - alone time that she wasn't getting while she was caring for Roger.
Then she started having dreams.
In Jessica's dream world, the characters had familiar names, but alien behaviours. Roger had darker fur and an even darker heart. Eddie was alive again, but stripped of his old personality. The DeGreasy brothers were back in the picture. And Jessica herself was just as shallow and cruel as everyone believed she was.
These dreams kept coming, night after night, becoming longer and more detailed each time. Jessica wondered if these dreams contained any clues to help her and Roger get out of their funk.
So she wrote the dreams down.
She wrote and rewrote, refining the scenes as more and more visions came to her. Eventually, her scribbles grew to the length of a novel.
And in 1981, she published that novel.
It was called Who Censored Roger Rabbit? and her pen name was Gary K. Wolf.
Some people at Disney took interest in the novel and wanted to turn it into a film. Jessica was glad to be involved, as it meant she and Roger could get back into acting.
But when Roger came onto the project, he had another idea for the direction the film could take. He remembered Eddie as a hero, and he wanted the whole world to remember him as a hero too. He wanted to tell Eddie's story. Jessica approved of this idea, because Roger's face was lighting up just talking about it.
She'd found it. She'd found the key to his happiness returning. In a roundabout way, yes, but she'd found it.
So the decision was made to create a historical film about how Eddie saved Toontown from being Dipped by Judge Doom. The film was called Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and Roger and Jessica played themselves.
It was a hit at the box office, and it kicked off a revival of interest in the classic cartoons. The 1990s were a golden decade for Roger and Jessica, nothing at all like the dark days of the 1970s.
And it was all thanks to Jessica's deeply weird dreams.

2024 Winter Anime Lineup (Master Post?)
First post for a new blog where I'm going to try and record my opinions, break downs, comparisons, and various degrees of squees about anime!
The lineup for this year's Winter isn't as packed as the 2023 Fall season was, but that's always the case. It sure is still causing my To Watch List to keep getting longer... but more importantly because it's so lacking in big name shows one of my most anticipated shows gets to shine...

This is already insanely long, so the second half of this essay about what I think is below ↓↓↓↓
DEFINITE WATCH LIST
SOLO LEVELING - I've been waiting for the solo leveling anime since BEFORE the anime was ever announced, re-reading the webcomic/manhwa multiple times and just HOPING someone would animate these gorgeous shadows. It is a very well done power fantasy with only squints of romance, and while I'm sad it's been localized to Japan (and all the fuckery that comes with of Korean erasure), I got to see the first two episodes at the World Premiere and I. Am. So. Hype.
APOTHECARY DIARIES existed completely outside of my head space, and my initial response at the premise was, Raven of the Inner Palace? I wasn't actually expecting much from it and then the first few episodes BLEW ME OUT OF THE WATER and now I'm obsessed.
DUNGEON MESHI is one of those manga I've heard about, but tried reading and it was too slow paced for me (I say, currently slogging through The Boat Arc (TM) of Hunter x Hunter), but the anime gives it life and I think I'll enjoy this alot. I love cooking anime and fantasy, so this will be fun!
KYUJITSU NO WARUMONOSAN is just straight up Crow Bait. That curly bowl cut, the gap moe of a villain who loves cute things, and voiced by fricken Shintarou Asanuma!!! (I know him as Samatoki from HypMic, other's will know him from the "Fucking Bullshit" song from Carole and Tuesday, and a host of other roles) Also, all the pretty sentei / power ranger boys!!! I'm so hype, in the most relaxed chill way for this.
UNDEAD UNLUCK is so weird in that it involves a lot of random sexualization, but it doesn't make me uncomfortable like Seven Deadly Sin's random gropping did, maybe because there is actual implied consent involved. Fuuko and Andy are Poly and I love them for it. And the world building is TOP NOTCH.
FIRE HUNTER - If you haven't seen season one, you are missing out. A darkly beautiful post-post apocolyptic alternate Japan-esque world, from the POV of a young girl, and a young genius boy having to let himself be manipulated by capitalism to survive, and gods? a magic system? but so soft that it's barely there even while being a full on fantasy story.
High Hopes or Taking My Time
SASAKI AND PEEPS- What a weird little show that has the weirdest combination of isekai, the most "this is fine." salaryman, and a fricken' CHUNIBYO BIRB. I've already watched the first episode and it feels like there are two magic systems going on and its a bit confusing, so we will see how this plays out!
WITCH AND BEAST - I keep wanting to call this Beauty and the Beast, because the beast is a rad bad ass looking lady, and the witch is certainly one of the most beautiful undertakers I've ever seen. I think he carries his boyfriend around in his coffin backpack, so I'm hype to see WTF is up with that >o>
DOCTOR ELISE - Why do manhwa I read keep randomly popping up as anime??? This is a vilainess turned good story, and supposedly the market is full of these, but none of them are the good ones I've read, so I did a double take of happiness when I saw this. THIS ONE IS GOOD. An spoiled princess gets killed, is reborn in Korea and becomes a doctor, only to be killed by Airplane-kun, and winds up back in her old body where she decides to become a doctor again! The prince is even not your typical icy asshole! (although maybe he is a little at the beginning..)
CHERRY MAGIC - THIS FRICKEN ENGLISH TITLE GOOD LORDS ABOVE. I'm dying. I'm also excited to see this one play out and I'll be hiding behind a pillow giggling like a mad lad while I do. It's been a while since there's been a good BL that's not SAD (looking at YOU Given and Banana Fish, but avoids eye contact with Sasaki and Miyano) so hopefully it doesn't dip into that territory. Going into this one mostly blind as to the premise apart from the obvious Gap-Moe with the love interest.
SHANGRI-LA - I started watching this on a whim as the Fall season started to wind down, and found it to be a good potato chip to have on in the background. I'll probably continue watching it, but not weekly.
FRIEREN - This is what I watch when Jujutsu Kaisen hurts too much to keep going. I'm only a few episodes in, so it'll be slow going, but I think it's about to pick up it's pacing a little where I'm at, and it'll be good comfort food to have.
MAYBES
Mashle Season 2 - The pacing was SUPER WEIRD in the first season that despite all of it's shitting on the properties of she-who-shall-not-be-named, the end of the season kind of fell flat. I wanted to like it more, so I'm hoping Season 2 does that for me.
Fluffy Paradise - I love isekais with an adult in a child's body pretending to be just super smart, and this doesn't feel like it's going to do that, but still looks cute none the less. I'll give it a few episodes, but will quickly drop it if my watch list is too long.
Ishura - Is this what life is like for D&D Characters when they hit level 20? I HOPE SO. I LOVED the Legend of Vox Machina, and hope this has the same sort of vibes, but I'm going in blind!
The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic - Love me some fucked up healing magic. Please DO NOT let this be ANYTHING like Redo Healer. I refuse to watch that even those FUCKED UP HEALING MAGIC IS FUN. But this. This I want to see. Please let this also not be a harem. I'm fine with ~vibes~ but please no actual harem that's not actually Poly.
Blue Exorcist - THIS IS TOTALLY OUT OF NOWHERE. HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN?????? I remember the last season feeling like a disappointment? But can't remember why? Gonna see if this is worth re-watching the seasons from like... a decade ago.
Delusional Monthly Magazine - I watched the PV and had no fucking clue what was happening. Therefore, I will be watching a few episodes to sate my curiosity about WTF OR possibly just get myself even more confused and rage quit. lmao
I've watched the first few episodes of a couple of these, and will be watching a few more tomorrow, so Next Goal: Post a write up or three about what I think!

safe to assume they're all pan and poly for the sake of the poll Lethellis: If you like someone with dark and moody color palettes, good with their hands and even better at reading others, and the idea of a 2-3 year long slow burn in which trust and devotion are built, congrats! You're getting a life long partner who's practically your shadow who would kill for you.
5'11 (180 cm) ✦ Thief ✦ They/It

Linnet: If your type is big soft man who would build a house for you from scratch, you're in luck! He's a bit on the quiet side, but his love language is actions, and he puts in the work. Loves to cook, and feels like sleeping with a heated blanket. His hands might be rough, but his heart is nothing but soft.
6'7 (201 cm) ✦ Engineer ✦ He/Him
Tumblr media
Myrr: If you ever wondered if you could find love in a bog, you're in the right place! This swamp looking sylvari has a heart of gold, with some home cooking that can't be beat. A romantic night by the water with the sounds of the frogs croaking, the fireflies glowing, while enjoying a tasty and hearty stew. Bring a bottle of wine you would like, she's used to something a bit stronger. If you're brave, you could try a sip, but be careful. The moonshine she's drinking could strip the paint off a barn.
5'6 (166 cm) ✦ Necromancer ✦ She/They
Tumblr media
Eidhneán: You're gonna have to ask this poor pining plant out yourself. He's thought through of so many scenarios of asking to be your valentine but he's shy, and couldn't work up the courage. Big fan of poetry and reading. Knows where all the best coffee shops are at. After being assured that you like him back, he builds more courage and would leave you little love notes.
5'3 (160 cm) ✦ Warrior ✦ He/Him
Tumblr media
Caislán: Big buff butch. That's your type. And your type is correct. She will quite literally sweep you off your feet. Shameless flirt and has little filter. Will plow you like a field. Féithlin: You're a romantic. Not lowkey, no no no. You like highkey and high fantasy. You saw the kind of romantic devotion in The Princess Bride and knew what you were about. This gnc mage could blast Wizard Howl out of the water and still have time to conjure a bouquet of your favorite flowers. Well-versed and well-mannered, you wonder if the mesmer is all talk and tricks, but it's all genuine. If chivalry, devotion, and fun chemistry is your idea of a good time, they've found you.
5'10 (178 cm) ✦ Mesmer ✦ Any Pronouns

5'5 (166 cm) ✦ Guardian ✦ They/Them
Tumblr media
Kienán: Tall and stoic, they probably come off as a little intimidating at first. Once you spend some time with them though, you see they're just polite and quiet. They enjoy sharing space together, and notice actions over words. Maybe it's their calming demeanor, or low soft-spoken voice, but you find yourself dozing off working with them; only to wake up later having been carried to somewhere better suited to sleep on than a chair, and covered with what looks like a hand knitted blanket.
6'1 (186 cm) ✦ Revenant ✦ They/Them
Tumblr media
Rónah: You're a sucker for golden retriever energy! Actual sunshine. Always happy to see you and makes even a bad day turn around into something nice. Lives up to the stereotype of wlw who moves in together after a week of dating. Hope you like pets!

Hi,
I'm making a dnd campaign with a pokemon module of 5e and wanted to use a bit edited version of Dotaku Island, Prof. Peach and the crew cause I like your headcannons and work nice with my idea of the inner workings of the Pokemon world.
Is it okay to use them?
It's a campaign with friends and we're not making any profit from it, but still wanted to ask cause now more than ever artist consent is important (even when nothing about this is goong online so normally people woukdn't ask, but I also wanted to say I've been a huge fan of your work for a long time so two birds with one stone ig).
Either way, thanks for showing your work to us here on tumblr and hope this ask isn't too weird :)
Haha sure go for it, I’m chill with non-profit use, and if you ever do post junk let me know so I can snoop.
Fun notes for anyone who may be inclined to do this: THESE DO NOT NEED TO BE USED NOR FOLLOWED, PICK AND CHOOSE IF YOU PREFER.
North is off limits, no exceptions. Being caught there will get you removed from the island on the first ship back to your original region. You will struggle to return here if found in the north. Patrols line the fences to make sure no one goes in, night and day.
Players will take damage if they try to touch peach in any way. Treat her as a high level monk/Druid, who 1000% will throw hands with u and your Pokemon given a good reason. Cold and distant to approach, pawns players off to other staff at any given opportunity. A hermit who will humour you if you can appeal to her better nature, or great desire to fight things. You may lose but it’s the trying that counts.
Wisdom saves (DC28) with Val if you try to touch her. Not only will you gain force damage if you succeed (half damage) or fail (full damage) to lay hands on her, but you’ll see horrifying illusions for a minute relating to loved ones. Frightened condition until a long rest, compelling you not to approach further. I cannot stress this enough. Penalise players for trying to touch her, peach will bluntly warn you once, after that you’re on your own.
Grey regularly hands out handy snacks that may help heal or buff teams. He is warm and open, a good person to approach for hints and tips. Notably found in his labs or out running errands, he’s always kind and gentle, unless that is you threaten his home or his loved ones in a severe way. He is scarier than peach when he’s pushed too hard.
Plenty of staff roam around to offer aid or information, ranging from gardeners, cleaners, shop staff, and specialist keepers who maintain the visitors sections.
A groomers, cafe, food stands, daycare, small fairground with rides and games, a hotel, lighthouse, port, greenhouses and of course multiple lab and practical spaces exist, amongst other interesting buildings.
The resident ranger can offer assistance but she is known to stay quite busy, and so getting her attention may prove difficult if it’s a trivial issue.
Adoption zones are the only approved areas to catch Pokemon, and even then it’s a process that requires a test and paperwork, so everyone involved is able to provide adequate care to the mons in question, and so they know any pre existing conditions.
The islands purpose is recovery, so human needs come in second. The Pokemon will always come first, a fact some visitors may have issue with. The staff will not care and continue to do their job without concern for this.
Year round events make the island busy and people are welcomed to join in with whatever’s going on, be it chilli cooking contests, fairs, pageants, board rental for the sweet ocean waves, or watching a migration pass by. There’s always something to do!
This is all optional, just have fun with it, and I hope your players enjoy! If they ask about it, redirect them to the blog so they can dive on into the content.

Herbalist (Pathfinder Second Edition Archetype)
Tumblr media
(art by ivonadenovic on DeviantArt)
When we look at Second Edition archetypes, we go in knowing that same-name syndrome is going to come up, and that it’s not necessarily a bad thing, since it’s a new edition and while things may be a bit different, these 2e options are essentially the inheritors of their 1e counterparts. Usually.
That’s not super the case here, though, as well the 2e herbalist has the same thematic roots, there’s no connection to leshies here.
Indeed, this archetype seems more to be about the more general applications of herbalism, bringing to mind other horticulture-focused archetypes rather than it’s 1e namesake, with perhaps a smattering of having a way to bring the herb-gathering themes from Ultimate Wilderness into 2e.
Additionally, despite being free for any class to take, herbalists maintain some of their old alchemist feel in their mechanics.
In any case, this archetype promises some lovely answers for nonmagical healing, curatives, and even buffing!
(Also note that this archetype got an additional feat from the Knights of Lastwall book)
The dedication to the path of the herbalist grants the ability to procure daily ingredients like an alchemist, but only to make healing tonics and various herbal concoctions.
The herbs in their arsenal are always the freshest available, letting them use natural medicine with greater effectiveness at the cost of some of their daily prepared batches.
Those from Lastwall often learn how to make especially potent brews of Lastwall Soup, making it easier for others to hide from the undead.
Some also learn to prepare their medicines as poultices, no longer requiring others to consume them to apply the effects, but also helping to seal bleeding wounds and smother other forms of persistent harm in addition to the normal effects.
Many also learn how to bring out the best in local herbs and plants, adding a small bonus effect to them, usually tied to whatever dangers lie in that biome, such as resistance to extreme cold in the artic, or greater agility and balance in mountainous terrain.
Normally these herbalists learn only the basics of finding and preparing these medicines, but some learn to break that limit and grow in skill, even adding higher-level healing elixers to their arsenal.
This is a simple archetype, but one that can provide many benefits to those seeking to help allies resist and overcome negative effects without magic in a fun, thematic way. The final feat granting actual higher crafting levels is super important if you want to do more than just dip into the archetype, but even if you go with the minimum you’ll never know when an elixir will com in handy. Thematically speaking, try pairing this with alchemist, ranger, druid, or witch. However, it can be quite useful for any class and build where you want a small supportive edge.
With the concept of the herbalist comes a lot of assumptions, such as the character being wise, kind, empathetic, and having a gentle bedside manner. You can lean into this or go the opposite direction. Heck, perhaps the character is only the “team mom” reluctantly because these idiots of a party can’t take care of themselves? It can certainly be a lot of fun to explore or subvert.
The herbalist Keysha Everbloom once claimed that her aloe vera extract could soothe even the eternal burning of the undead known as combusted. An exaggeration to be sure, but a dreadfully ironic one as one such creature has trapped her on the second floor of her home. While the walls are stone, her many plants are not so impervious to fire, threatening to choke her with the smoke… unless a party of heroes just happens to be on their way to visit her.
The ways of the Great Healer, god of medicine, teach that a person’s true value lies in their ability to provide comfort and aid to others. So then is Kovas of Rathaam dually blessed, the redeemer champion also having a knack for medicinal healing in addition to their divine healing touch. However, they have gone missing, and the path to find them again will take the heroes into the sewers, where their calling has led them to an ysoki warren.
Though shunned by other cultures, the goblins of Valdheim are surprisingly skilled at herbal medicine, having come to rely on it when they rejected the old goblin gods. Those seeking such herbcraft can learn a lot from them if they will only listen.

Okay so @scordoesart posted a lovely Bellhands thing the other day and I got thinking again, which can either be fun, or lead to sheer madness and brainrot and this is the brainrot kind of thinking apparently. So I had to write it down and regain some semblance of sanity again.
So, Bellhands is all well and good (and honestly, probably the most likely option for Izzy's long lost boyfriend please cast Matt Berry as Sam, he is so perfect), but then I doodled a little piratey dude the other day, thought he looked like he could be a good boyfriend for Izzy, but he didn't feel like Bellamy to me, and then I thought
Blackbeard is a pirate with a bloody reputation, but a soft side for his beloved.
You know you else had a big, nasty, bloodthirsty reputation?
Charles Vane
Hear me out:
In history, Vane got started sailing around the same time as Stede and Blackbeard under Henry Jennings, and pretty quickly made a name for himself and gained a reputation for like, torturing captured crews, and being the "leave none alive, show no mercy" sort of pirate captain.
So if Vane is a big name in the pirate world, why wouldn't Izzy hear that name and go "that's my boyfriend! He's alive!"
Some pirates likely changed their names to protect their family's reputation, so maybe when they were younger, Izzy didn't know him as Charles Vane?
From what I skimmed on Wikipedia, Vane didn't sail with Hornigold, but we're history inspired here, not completely accurate. I read somewhere that Taika said he read like 4 sentences of the Blackbeard Wikipedia page and decided to just wing it from there, so if it's good enough for Taika, it's good enough for me
So, what if he did? What if he sailed with Hornigold and company under his legal name, and then later changed it to Vane when he started building his own piratey reputation?
Some time after Blackbeard gets to captain his own ship, something happens and Charles gets separated from the crew (arrested? Falls overboard and picked up by a different ship? Idk, something) and Izzy thinks his boyfriend is dead
Maybe Charles has some connections somewhere and talks his way out of being hanged for crimes of piracy, but has a hard time getting back out to sea for some reason. Eventually he does get away and back out to sea where he meets Jennings, and somewhere down the road, he gets to captain his own ship and goes off to try to reunite with Izzy and company.
(side note: at least according to Wikipedia, he sailed on The Lark, The Ranger, The Katherine, and a different ship called The Ranger. Hornigold also had a ship called the Ranger, so there's the basis for my half-assed 'Vane used to sail with Hornigold' theory. I’ve also decided that his ship the Katherine is named after someone he knows. A beloved little sister, maybe?)
Historically, Vane and Calico Jack sailed together for a time. Per Wikipedia, Jack was Vane's quartermaster, and later became captain after voting Vane out of his captaincy. Again, vaguely historically inspired, my vision of Vane (fairly level-headed and laid back, but prone to bursts of anger and murder) probably doesn't like wild, rambunctious Jack too much, and maybe only briefly reunited with him prior to ep 8. So maybe when Charles reunites with Blackbeard and Izzy, there can be a "why the FUCK didn't Jack tell you I've been looking for you, I'm gonna fuckin kill him" moment
Maybe Vane got his violent reputation while looking for Izzy. I'm picturing like, Vane shows up in the republic of pirates, asks about Blackbeard, and the guys there are like "oh yeah he was here like a week ago, you just missed him. No idea where he fucked off to this time", and he starts taking out his frustration on captured ships because his former shipmates are just always slightly out of reach. Or maybe gossip spreads about Ed and Stede taking the act of grace, and Vane starts getting extra passionate about hunting English ships, hoping to find Blackbeard on one of them and reunite with his old friend?
how did Izzy and Charles end up together in the first place? Still working out the details on that one, but it's coming together, just slowly
This may turn into a actual fic some day (probably not, I have no time, nor am I good with words) but for now it's just a jumbly, scrambly list of half-formed ideas that need to be dealt with eventually

from context i'll suppose you've played Dragon's Dogma, can you tell me a bit about what's it about? i just saw i have it in my Steam library and i'm curious about it
You start off in your small fishing town. Theres news of the dragons attack. (He comes back every 70ish years or so). Well, your small town gets attacked by the dragon. You try to fight the giant lizard by yourself as everyone runs. You managed to stab a tiny sword in his hand. The dragon admires your tenacity and steals your heart. Thus beginning your long and epic journey to defeat the dragon as the Arisen. You have died and are revived by dragon magic, hence your title Arisen. You get to create a Pawn, who is in service to you. They lack personalities to some extent. They listen, they obey, they follow. Your goal is to get your heart back. But will it all be worth it?
You have 3 major vocations to choose from, mage (staff) strider (daggers, bow) and fighter (shield and sword). They do effect you stats as time progresses, but it’s not a lot. You can change your vocations at the inn. Expanded vocations include sorcerer (more magic, bigger staff), warrior(two handed weapons) and ranger (longbow, daggers). The Arisen is able to get mixed/dual vocations that your pawns cannot. They are magick archer, mystic knight, and assassin.
I love climbing on enemies so I often choose strider at the beginning because you get the biggest boost to stamina. In my originally Xbox game my arisen could run from the starter town to almost the canyon in one stamina bar at max level.
I mostly play as Magick archer bc it’s honestly the best. Mystic knight is secondary choice. Usually I keep my pawn as warrior but lately I’ve been playing with him as a sorcerer.
You can recruit 2 more pawns that other players have created. I usually have mixed party. I play archer build so, I grab a sorcerer, a mage, and either a fighter or warrior. It’s good to have mixed parties to help with certain enemies. Some are weak to magic and others to physical.
Your pawns learn by being by your side. You can teach them more with scrolls. But the more quests they do the more they learn. The more enemies they fight, the more they learn. (Except my pawn, 400 hours and Ari still wants to murder everything in Bitter Black Isle).
You get to meet an array of wonderful characters. You can technically woo any character in game. You can give them your ring at some point. (In dark arisen EP in guarantees your romantic choice, in the OG It means nothing, best to talk to your beloved one last time before you head to the great wall).
It’s a really fun and really great game. Hence my handle Arisen-licious. It was a play on Arisen and Delicious from the dragons POV.
It does have its flaws. The main quest is a bit confusing sometimes and doesn’t always point you in the right direction (they’ve fixed some of this with the EP dark arisen). But not everything. Even with its flaws, it’s great! Move been playing it since it came out (both dragons dogma and Skyrim) they’re about 6months apart. Fast travel is not as good as other games. But if you get port crystals, you can put them anywhere on the map.
There is some modding available for the game. I mostly just have some texture upgrades. But there are armor mods and god mode cheats.

I've been having thoughts I thought you'd like. Eddie is a DM, right? We don't really get to see him actually play dnd. So, how do you think he'd react to being a player? Would he try to break the game or get wayyy to involved? What class would he be? I would love to know your take lol
Okay so I have THOUGHTS about this. I actually cracked open my Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Player's Handbook for this. So this is all based off of my personal HCs combined with the original AD&D information that was available in 1986 (1st edition!)
So, all I can think of is when Eddie says to Steve in the Upside Down "Outside of D&D, I am no hero". Eddie WANTS to be a hero, he WANTS to do good without compromising who he is as a person. I feel like he'd build a character to reflect that.
So for race, I feel like he plays either a Dwarf or a Half-Orc. Dwarfs are non-magic and great fighters and I really don't see Eddie as being a magic based player. For Half-Orc I can see him relating a lot to being seen as an outcast so I think he'd like a monster that- Ah, shit. That's just Shrek.
My point still stands.
For class, there is no Bard in AD&D, fun fact there. And also that's too easy. I really lean into the idea of his class being a Fighter or a Thief, or even a multi-class. I feel like for Fighter he'd sub-class as a ranger, personally because in AD&D, all paladins HAVE to be Lawful Good. (This is going off the assumption that Eddie is cooking by the book here. I do feel like he sticks to the rules as close as he can, unless he can be convinced otherwise.)
So, for my answer, Eddie as a Dwarven Fighter/Thief makes sense to me.
As for how he plays....
As someone who is also a Forever DM, Eddie lives for the chaos and drama of being a player. He doesn't get to often, but when he does he is coming up with the most bat shit plans that he probably hoped his players would do in his own campaigns. He absolutely pushes the DM to their limit.
Especially in Hellfire Club, if one of the other members wants to run a one-shot it is at their own risk because I feel like Eddie toes the line between nightmare player and best player. He'll challenge you as a DM, but it is so worth it. Of course, he wants everyone to have fun and isn't going to steal the spotlight but he's always passing notes between everyone just to make the DM nervous about what he's going to do next. 95% of the time it's harmless. The other 5% is the DM needing a 10 minute break to reassess what the fuck just happened and come up with a new plan.
Eddie has learned to reel it in a little bit, knowing how frustrating it is to constantly be derailed and having to pause every half hour to figure out where to go from here isn't fun for anyone. But he's still Eddie and he will find a way to Cause Problems On Purpose during game.

Hii phoebe!! sorry to have another piarles breakdown in your inbox but imagine power rangers piarles au
where charles is a DISASTER magnet, who's always at the worst place at the worst time (he's still a ferrari f1 driver) and pierre is the red power ranger who keeps having to save him (while eventually also falling in love)
maybe arthur is the yellow power ranger or something so charles gets introduced to pierre as pierre (I'm trying so hard not to make this like peter & mj but fail) (the rest of the power rangers can be anyone from the grid)
anyways they're both idiots in love with each other, but they're idiots so neither of them make a move until the bad guys figure out charles must mean something special to the rangers because he happens to be at like 3/8 of the crime scenes and red ranger is actually tender with him in a way he isn't with anyone else, they think charles can be the rangers weakness
fast forward a few weeks, the bad guys have finally figured out a plan of attack, that they'll leverage charles for the jewel of power or whatever and they plan to carry it out at some ferrari event in Italy EXCEPT pierre (and arthur) are already there. not as rangers but just as the charles leclerc support squad. and they both fight dirty but somehow thwart the bad guys plan anyways and then it's just the three of them in an empty building and they end up revealing their identities to charles and when charles calms himself down enough to not kill his baby bro (who sheepishly takes his leave and runs the hell away from there but not before giving a suggestive wink towards them both and pierre makes a reminder to give him the worst tasks from now on because that little shit.)
then it's just pierre and charles and charles and pierre and charles comes and stands so close to pierre that their toes are touching and he looks furious but also so concerned and a little worried and maybe even hurt and it looks like he's about to either slap pierre or kiss him and pierre can't decide when charles snatches him by his collar and their mouths collide but since they're both idiots they lose their balance and fall on top of each other before bursting into hysterical laughter that turns a little too emotional and charles says the deepest, most emotional poetic thing pierre has ever heard in his life with that teary look in his eyes and pierre is like "fuck I am in love KISS KISS KISS"
anyways they become boyfriends after that and nobody ever let's them live it down especially arthur
(I am sorry for yet another piarles breakdown but you and katie indulge me so much and I am spoiled, thank you for being some of the most amazing piarlies ever)
KSBSKDNSHDBKDKD ANON IM LITERALLY GOING TO KISS YOU SO HARD
first things first. oh my god. never apologize ever. i feed off of people having piarles breakdowns it is my LIFE BLOOD please ALWAYS come tell me every piarles thought you have always im so serious this goes for every single one of you
secondly, baby are you kidding me. are you KIDDING ME. area woman who never got over power rangers (2017, dir. dean israelite) IS GOING TO START EATING HER ARM ABOUT THIS
ok deep breaths. literally this is so sososososososo so good im gonna die. like?!?!?!? charles being a disaster magnet just feels right (in the green lantern au that lives vaguely in my head that is exactly how he is too so 🤝🤝) and pierre being the one to constantly rescue him is soooo. Yeah. arthur makes fun of him so much for being the Knight In Shining (Red) Armor and pierre is like "i dont care if we both have ranger strength. i am going to kick your god damn ass." arthur just laughs bc pierre would never, he's too fond of the leclercs no matter how annoying they are.
BAD GUYS TAKING NOTICE OF PIERRE'S AFFECTIONS FOR CHARLESSSSSS AJDBSGHDKDNDKFKA yeah. yes. yes bc its so obvious of COURSE the red ranger has a weakness. of course. everyone can see it. EVEN CHARLES KNOWS. he tells pierre sometimes he has a thing for the red ranger and it makes pierre insane every single time. like he has to repeatedly Take A Walk and charles thinks it's bc he hates the idea of the power rangers but in actuality it's "he can't see me get maybe turned on by this so i have to get out of here"
also also also. oh god. oh my god. charles after he finds out the red ranger is pierre?!?!? would be so worried immediately after the battle bc pierre is bloodied and beaten a little, mostly okay but also definitely a lil fucked up. he's touching pierre's face, are you okay, pierre, you could've fucking died--and that devolves into the How Could You Not Tell Me and he starts to get mad and pierre just. is so relieved charles is ok and he knows that he just grabs charles to pull him close for a hug, but charles has other plans and kisses him instead. and he's like oh yeah you do have a crush on the red ranger don't you🤭😏 and charles is like "you're actually the worst person in the world bar none"
ANYWAY @cerona14 BESTIE. COME LOOK. PIARLES PR AU

Previous chapter
Normally when Abbey came to visit, Hannah was left wracking her mind trying to come up with things to keep the young girl entertained. She always enjoyed seeing her niece, of course, but there wasn’t a ton to do in her small town for adults that was interesting - much less an 8 year old girl. This time, though, Abbey had barely climbed out of the car with her mother, Ella, when she was excitedly asking Hannah to go meet the park ranger from Aphiria.
Yeah, that hiring decision really was a good call on the government’s part for boosting visitation, she thought. She glanced over at Ella, waiting to see her sister’s reaction.
“That could be fun!” Ella said. “You’ve met him, right, Hannah?”
“I have. He’s very nice. Well, if you both want to, I suppose we have something to do this trip!” Hannah said. She paused. “We could even make an overnight trip of it, get my old tent.”
“I want to go camping! Mom, can we go camping?” Abbey said excitedly.
“If you don’t think it’ll be too much trouble, being away from the shop?” Ella asked. Hannah shook her head.
“I had the next three days off anyways, with you two coming to visit.”
“Yes!” Abbey said excitedly. That settled it, and the next morning, Hannah found herself piling her tent and an assortment of other items in the back of her car. Abbey was all smiles, and Hannah thought she seemed far too awake for the early hour.
“What’s he like? Is he really that tall?” Abbey asked.
“Well, you’ll see for yourself in a few hours, won’t you?” Hannah asked.
“Does he have sharp teeth? Kids at my school said Aphirials have sharp teeth. And claws!” Abbey said.
“Don’t ask him about that,” Ella said, shaking her head slightly.
“That’s why I’m asking you!”
Hannah snorted. “Well, he doesn’t have claws. I don’t spend that much time trying to see people’s teeth, though,” she said. Admittedly, she assumed that Easton probably did have sharp teeth, but she hadn’t actually seen them herself. She also thought she’d heard something about aphirials having claws as well, but assumed he possibly just kept them cut short if that was true. That seemed like a fair enough guess, given how much he interacted with humans and how claws would likely only make that more difficult.
“Is he loud? I feel like a giant would be loud. Is he taller than our apartment?” Abbey asked. Ella and Hannah exchanged an amused glance at her endless questions as the three climbed into Hannah’s car. On the way there, Hannah found herself wondering if John would be around again. She guessed yes; it seemed like he generally was in charge of working alongside Easton. When they arrived at the park, it was a little past 8am. Despite that, the entryway was already filling up with cars. Way more than Hannah was used to seeing at that time. They’d barely made it past the gates when the impossibly huge figure that was Easton came into view.
God, I still have not gotten used to that, Hannah thought, her gaze trailing upwards towards the giant’s face, looming above the visitor center. She realized with a jolt she’d yet to see him standing up. Even sitting, he had to be almost a hundred feet tall. Far taller than the three story building that made up the visitor center. She heard Abbey exclaim in excitement as she notice too.
“Oh my gosh, he’s even taller than I thought! Mom, he’s way taller than our apartment building!” Abbey said, pressing her face against the window to get a closer view.
“Yeah,” Ella said, and Hannah got the distinct impression she was trying to keep her voice as level as possible despite the shock.
“He really is super nice, too,” Hannah offered. “He loves flowers.”
They pulled into an empty parking spot, and Abbey had climbed out of the car almost before the engine was shut off.
“Wait for us!” Ella said. Hannah glanced over at her sister, silently asking if she was good with a raised eyebrow.
“I knew Aphirirals were giant compared to us but…”
“Different actually seeing one?” Hannah finished. Ella gave a soft nod. She looked over towards Abbey, who was standing in front of the car impatiently.
“She seems excited, at least.”
Ella pushed open the passenger side door, and the three of them headed towards the visitor center.
They’d scarcely stepped into the patio behind the visitor center when Hannah heard a familiar voice that immediately brought a small smile to her face.
“Hannah!” John walked over to her, giving a friendly wave, and she felt her heart skip a beat. She quickly pushed the feeling away, returning his smile.
“Hey!” She said.
“I really have been meaning to get down to your thrift shop one of these days, I swear,” John said with an awkward laugh.
“Oh, no worries. I’m sure work keeps you plenty busy,” Hannah said,
“That it does,” John said. “It’s a great place to work, though. Who are these two lovely ladies?”
“This is my sister, Ella, and her daughter, Abbey. Abbey’s just been dying to meet Ranger Parks-Easton,” Hannah said. “Ella, Abbey, this is John - he works here at the park.”
Hannah realized she still wasn’t sure what John’s official title was - it probably wasn’t “mysterious operations guy”.
“It’s nice to meet you both,” John said. “So, you’ve been wanting to meet Easton?”
Abbey nodded eagerly. “I told all my friends from school I was going to, they think he sounds so cool!”
“Well, why keep you waiting then,” John said with a friendly smile. “C’mon.”
He gestured for them to follow him over to where Easton was sitting, currently talking with a couple on the rooftop observation deck of the visitor center. Hannah wondered for a moment if Easton would even notice them approaching. They were probably a little smaller than the size of mice to him, afterall, and he seemed pretty engaged in the conversation he was having. A brief glance from him down towards them quickly proved that notion false. She supposed she shouldn’t have been surprised. Besides how Aphirials had senses far keener than humans, it made sense that Easton would try to be continuously aware of his environment. He finished talking with the couple, then turned his attention down towards them.
“Hannah! It’s nice to see you again,” he said.
“You too,” Hannah replied. She saw her sister inhale sharply, taking a smaller step backwards.
“Hannah’s sister, Ella, and her niece, Abbey, was it-“ John glanced down at Abbey, who gave an enthusiastic nod. In stark contrast to Ella, she looked like she was bursting with excitement. “Are in town visiting, and Abbey was just dying to meet you, I hear!”
“You’re even more giant than I imagined!” Abbey said. “I mean, it’s nice to meet you,” she amended quickly, glancing back at her mother.
Easton gave a soft laugh. “I’ve heard I am a bit tall,” he said jokingly. “It’s nice to meet you too. Both of you,” he said, glancing over at Ella. Ella gave a restrained nod.
“A bit tall? You’re super tall!” Abbey said. “Like, as tall as some of the really tall buildings in my city. Wait, is it hard for you to hear me? I can be louder?”
Easton shook his head. “I can hear you fine, don’t worry.” He lowered his voice to a stage whisper. “I have super hearing.”
“That’s so cool! I wish I had super hearing. Then I’d know what my mom got me for Christmas when she’s telling Aunt Hannah. Do they have Christmas where you come from?”
Hannah felt an amused smile cross her face watching Abbey talk to Easton. She had been worried her niece might annoy him, but now realized that concern had apparently been unfounded. He seemed as happy to answer her questions as talk to any other guest. She glanced over at her sister, trying to gauge how Ella seemed to be taking this in, just in time to see a sandy haired man in a ranger’s uniform walking up to them. She noticed Easton glance over at him as he approached briefly to, and she thought she saw the man tense at that. That seemed odd; she would have thought someone who worked alongside Easton would be more at ease around him. Like John seemed to be.
“Morning,” the newcomer said, walking up to John. He glanced over to them. “I don’t believe we’ve met - I’m Dave,” he said, extending his hand to Ella and Hannah. They introduced themselves, learning that Dave was another fresh face at the park. John explained that Dave, along with two others, had all been hired at the same time as Easton, as part of the whole joint venture with Aphiria.
“You should probably ask your mom about that,” Easton said, drawing Hannah’s attention back to Abbey.
“Can Easton pick me up, Mom? Please?” Abbey asked. Ella gave an uncertain glance to John and Hannah.
“He’s always very careful, but we entirely understand whatever you’re comfortable with,” John said.
“I can go with her,” Hannah offered, the words slipping out of her mouth in a half whispered voice to Ella before she could fully think them through. While she did think Easton was nice and almost certainly trustworthy, she’d never been the biggest fan of heights. It seemed like it was too late for that, though, because she saw Ella relax slightly at that suggestion. She nodded.
“If your aunt Hannah goes with you,” she said, mouthing a quick thank you to Hannah.
Yep, way too late for regrets, Hannah said, watching Abbey practically jump up and down with excitement at that. How bad can it be? She glanced up at the rooftop of the building, swallowing at how suddenly and simultaneously tall and short it looked compared to Easton. She gave a small shake of her head, hoping to dislodge her creeping anxiety, and walked over closer to Easton, where Abbey stood.
“Thank you Hannah!” Abbey said. “This is going to be so cool!”
“Yeah,” Hannah said. She glanced up at Easton, who gave her a reassuring smile, apparently picking up on her hesitation.
“I’ll only lift you up to the height of the observation deck,” he said. “So, basically, I’ll let you both climb into my hand, and I won’t move until you’re both ready. When I do pick you up, please stay still and stay in the center of my hand, okay?”
“Okay!” Abbey said.
“Got it,” Hannah replied. Easton lowered his hand to the ground, bending over slightly. Hannah once again was struck by just how giant the giant was as she approached his hand. A single one of his fingers was taller than she was. She took that moment to say a silent thank you that he didn’t have claws, whatever the reason for that was - she really didn’t need to be feeling anymore intimidated that she already was.
“So just, climb onto your hand?” She double checked, glancing up at Easton.
“Yeah. Don’t worry, you won’t hurt me,” he joked. She glanced at Abbey, who was smiling brightly beside her, and took a deep breath. It was a very weird feeling climbing onto what was effectively a giant human hand. The surface was warm - alive. The fine details she wouldn’t have normally even noticed were far more apparent at such a scale. A single freckle on Easton’s palm was probably half the size of her own hand. She took another steadying breath, then turned around to help Abbey up. Her niece didn’t seem to share any of her hesitation, instead far too thrilled about the situation to feel any fear.
She and Abbey got settled as much in the center of Easton’s palm as they could, and then she looked up at him.
“Okay, we’re ready,” she said.
“Wonderful!” Easton said. He lifted them up far more slowly than she’d been expecting, much to her relief, and stopped level with the roof just as he’d said she would. She looked out the park, and then glanced up at Easton.
He’s got to have an amazing view, she thought.
“You two still alright?” Easton asked.
“This is so cool!!” Abbey said. “It’s like that scene from King Kong. I mean, but not scary, of course.”
“Well, I’m glad it’s not scary,” Easton said. If he knew what King Kong was, or was bothered by being compared to a monster movie, he didn’t show it.
“It is really pretty up here,” Hannah admitted, gazing out at the vast wilderness that surrounded them.
“It’s a gorgeous park,” Easton agreed, following her gaze. “I’m really glad I got to come work here.”
“Do you eat whole cows?” Abbey’s question shattered the moment of silence looking out at the landscape, and Hannah wasn’t sure whether she should laugh at the timing or remind Abbey to be polite. Easton took it in stride, giving a slight shake of his head.
“I’m a vegetarian,” he said. “So, I don’t eat any cows. Whole or otherwise.”
“I knew Max was making that up. He’s a boy in my class, and he thinks he knows everything, but I knew he was wrong,” Abbey said. Easton chuckled at that.
“Well, you can tell him the only thing I eat whole is salads,” Easton said.
“I wanted to be a vegetarian one time. I like bacon too much, though,” Abbey said.
“I’ve heard bacon is pretty good,” Easton agreed. Abbey nodded.
“It’s really good.”
By the time Easton lowered them back to the ground, Hannah was feeling far more at ease than when she’d initially climbed onto his hand. Both from getting used to the situation and the careful and cautious way he treated them. Abbey hopped off, running over to her mom.
“That was so cool! He’s like, the best park ranger ever!” Abbey said. Her mom smiled, also seeming more relaxed - most likely because they were both safely on the ground again. Hannah was close behind Abbey, stopping to thank Easton for both being so careful and humoring Abbey’s questions.
“Of course! She seems like a good kid,” Easton said.
“She really is,” Hannah said.
“So, how was it?” John asked.
“Not as terrifying as I thought it would be,” Hannah said with a short laugh. She glanced back at Easton. “Not as terrifying at all.”

Oh hey, I'm doing that thing I said I was going to do where I try to catch up my Tumblr 100 OC posts with my Twitter ones. As always, new images up top, earliest images down below, and detailed info below the cut.
#45: Alriem Nelufera Idea: Moon elf DROOD Story: Dragon Tavern
As with a great many of these character groups, some parties got a lot more fleshing out than others, and the Champions of the Mountain Kingdoms were definitely the least developed of the three; and of the three of them, Systir easily got more development than Alriem or Iros. But Alriem's gotten a little smattering of building, especially with the changes to the Moon Elves, so here we go.
So as stated before, when the races and creatures of the world were seeded, the Moon Elves were the literal self inserts of the actual elves on the moon. As such, they adopted their creators' love of science and knowledge-gathering. They spent many a century exploring the wild and wacky world of science, with horticulture and geology being particularly popular fields; in time, the two even began to intermix, leading the Moon Elves to grow living crystals, among other things. They spread far and wide across their lands, but it wouldn't be long before they ran into the dwarves and humans, who had learned of and coveted their living crystal. Of course, the Moon Elves weren't complete victims, as they in turn coveted the lands of the other two, and they wanted to "peacefully relocate" the other races.
This led to to the creation of two like-minded groups; the Rangers, a more military group who actively patrolled their territory riddling invaders with arrows, and Cultivators, essentially science-druids who had learned to grow weaponry and familiars out of the earth.
And as you do, they all got to fighting with one another. But over the centuries, they realized that 1) none of them were getting what they wanted, and 2) there's some crazies out there called the Steel Empire and they have flying ships so maybe they should try to get along before they come to fuck them up.
And thus, in the spirit of self-defense, the three races came together to form the Mountain Kingdoms, a triumvirate helmed by the leaders of the three races. At first, relations were pretty shaky, but over time, the nations learned to like each other and cooperate, and in all the centuries since, there hasn't been a hint of malice between them - especially since they're all still waiting for the day the Steel Empire tries something funny.
Cut to the present day, and the Mountain Kingdoms have been greeted by a mysterious visitor promising them a power that will almost certainly help defend them against the inevitable invasion and totally won't unleash a raving mad elf who will absolutely destroy the world. And how could they say no to that? So, they put together a small band of champions to be led by Alriem Nelufera, a Cultivator. Like Sydan, she was chosen because she was known to be a capable fighter and a highly intelligent scientist, but was not renowned enough that her presence out in the wider world would cause any sort of stir.
As for the woman herself...she's very much a WIP when it comes to personality. In-game, I set her "mannerism" to "friendly," but I very much drew her more aloof-looking, like she was supposed to be a quiet, delicate sort of flower, so I kept to that. Years later, when I did her first redesign, I thought about giving her tattoos from which she summons her plants/weapons/familiars, as in-game one of your support items is a rune, but there's no real description as to whether the rune is a stone rune or it's a marking on your creature or what. I'm not sure I'm going with that idea anymore, though. I also thought she would summon her clothing out of her tattoos, because Moon Elves are naturalists but the rest of the civilized world doesn't roll like that, but I think I'll drop that one, too.
#46: Systir the Belt-taker Idea: Hot-blooded dragon-riding muscle-man who's also a functioning alcoholic Story: Dragon Tavern
In the early days, Systir was basically Kamina - or at least, my idea of Kamina before I actually watched more than 3 episodes of Gurren Lagann and realized I didn't like Kamina. Tall guy, shirtless, very similar tattoos, dark blue spiky hair, and he would PIERCE THE HEAVENS with his lance. He also had multiple mismatched belts around his waist because ??? When Dragon Tavern added drinking mechanics to the game, I found that Systir had the best overall luck with drinking and not running into any negative effects, so I worked in that he was a pretty hard partying dude.
And then, I actively decided he was an alcoholic. No whoopsie-doodling myself into it, I leaned all the way in. And thus did poor Systir become probably the guy who gets it the hardest out of this whole squad (except possibly Paz).
As for his present-day story, Systir is a member of the Sky Guard, a league of dragon riders and one of the most stalwart defenders among the human forces of the Mountain Kingdoms. While the Sky Guard are quite well-disciplined, they also tend to attract people with big egos and big tempers; every other Sky Guard seems to have something to prove, and when they're not actively defending their home against ne'er-do-wells, they're often challenging each other to winner-take-all jousting duels. Most duelists demand something valuable from their opponent when they win - gold, titles, items of personal importance, the occasional spouse.
But Systir's not like the average Sky Guard. He doesn't feel like he has anything to prove, because he knows he's the best.
He doesn't care to take fancy treasures or status symbols from his vanquished opponents. Instead, he only wants one thing: their belts. To him, nothing is sweeter than to watch the loser have to hobble away with their pants sliding. He even likes to wear the belts around his midsection as trophies, daring anyone to fight him again to win back their belt.
Systir and his bonded dragon, Lentaa, were one of the first choices to join the Champions of the Mountain Kingdoms; sure, he was a hard-drinking loudmouth, but he was unquestionably one of the fastest up-and-comers in the Sky Guard. Besides, Alriem would be handling any diplomacy and Iros would do the quiet jobs, so everything would be fine, right?
As it turns out, no. No, it wouldn't. Because later in the story, when everyone finally converges on the Tower and most have realized that whatever's on the other side is bad news, Systir is the one who says "Fuck that noise, we came here to do a job and we're going to finish that job," and activates the portal. And everyone nearly dies because of that, Systir included.
And boy, oh boy, does he not take the aftermath well. When everyone else decides to stay around the tower to shield it from interlopers and prepare for a proper reckoning with T'akar Duum, Systir instead can't handle the guilt he feels over nearly getting everyone killed and bails, disappearing into the woods with Lentaa to wander the earth and make hooch out of just about anything he can find so he can forget everything that happened; he feels that if he stays around, he's just liable to fuck up again.
Things probably get better for him eventually, but uh...I never got that far.
#47: Iros Idea: Creeping sneakthief WIP Story: Dragon Tavern
Without a doubt, Iros was the least developed of the initial batch of Dragon Tavern characters; the most that was written about him was that he was a meticulous planner who used his naturally sleepy appearance to hide his cunning intellect, but who would also quickly grow agitated if things didn't go exactly according to his plans. Unlike Alriem and Systir, however, I didn't spend nearly as much time over the years reworking his character. Poor dude kinda fell through the cracks...which, during the last however-long I've worked on this one, I might have actually taken to heart and worked into his new character.
While the meticulous planning and quiet cunning will stay, I now picture Iros as much more of an eccentric weirdo than I'd originally made him. As far as he can remember, he had always lived alone, sneaking about back alleys and scrounging to survive. He grew so used to living in the darkness and keeping out of the eye of others that the thought of anyone perceiving him would send him into an immediate state of panic. So imagine his surprise when he got caught stealing from the home of a veteran Infiltrator.
As tends to happen in these sorts of things, the Infiltrator was mighty impressed, taking the youth under her wing and teaching him the finer points of sneaky-beaking while slowly getting him used to the idea of being seen by other people, along with giving him a general education considering he was a feral child; she also happened to give him his name. A few years later, he was hand-picked to join the Champions of the Mountain Kingdoms.
As for where he ends up in the second half of the story, the only thing I particularly remember is that he winds up being one of the worse-off members, ultimately getting his entire jaw ripped off by T'akar Duum and getting a prosthetic fashioned for him by Paz. Whether or not I'll keep this is up in the air (chances are good I won't, though, since the only reason he'd had it at all was because MGS4 had released around that time and I thought Raiden's metal jaw looked cool), but beyond that, he most likely returned to civilization at large, mostly to spread misinformation to any Seekers looking for the Tower's location.
#48: Rinel Acolytus Idea: Leader of the holy choir, smiter of the wicked, raging bigot Story: Dragon Tavern
At last, we have our final squad, the Champions of the Steel Empire. In-game, the Steel Empire was basically Warhammer 40k (God-Emperor, an inquisition, science > magic, kill-all-xenos policy) with the tech level of Warhammer Fantasy (steamcraft, zeppelins, knights on horseback). Thus, they, more than either of the other two regions, have needed to have some reworkings over the years to try to divorce them from the obvious influences while still keeping the general gist of what they are. The primary thing that's changed is the origin and function of the God Emperor, who I've now reimagined as the Eternal Child; long ago, something happened which trapped the young boy in a perpetual state of being ten years old. Whether or not said something also gave him unprecedented magical powers, no one knows and the Eternal Child is not mentally capable of figuring it out. What is known, at least to a very select few, is that the Eternal Child is exactly as much of a Problem™️ as one would expect a permanent ten year old with borderline-uncontrollable magic powers would be.
As such, the Empire actually arose out of a need to a) appease the Child to keep him from nuking their whole society on a whim, especially when the regularly-attacking local wildlife and inhospitable environs already made life difficult, and b) potentially weaponize the Child since if his abilities could be harnessed in some way, it could finally give them the proper foothold to expand their civilization.
Thus came the mythology that the Eternal Child was the god emperor supreme blessed with divine yadda yadda who single-handedly saved their people from destruction and whose power he bestowed upon a chosen few, his Acolytes, to act as his will in the world at large while he was busy personally keeping their region safe. In truth, the Child was a petty brat who for some reason no one knows absolutely hated all magic despite having access to it himself. Thus, the initial banning of magic was twofold; first, to keep anyone from exploring alternate forms of magic and potentially undermining the power and unity of the Empire, and second, simply because the Eternal Child willed it, and his word was ultimately law (when the inner circle couldn't get away with circumventing it for their own desires, of course). Over the millennia, much of the truth was lost, concealed, or altered in so many ways that xenophobia and superstition became baked into society at large.
And that's where we come to Rinel. Rinel is one of those aforementioned Acolytes, who through the power of hymns and a big ol' hammer can channel the Eternal Child's power (which is totally not supplementing her own innate magic, she doesn't have magic, that's witchcraft, shut up) to smite her enemies. And like most good Acolytes, she's in the service of spreading the will of the Child by just about any means necessary. She hates non-humans, she hates witches, she hates magical creatures, she loves the Eternal Child. Simple as. And as such, when the inner circle received word of the Tower, she was chosen to lead the Champions as she had more than proven that her loyalty to the Empire wouldn't waver in the face of the temptations of the outside world.
She's a dour, serious young woman who is absolutely devoted to her mission and duty. So, of course, this tends to cause some wacky shenaniganry when she's paired with an Inquisitor who is more than willing to play a little fast and loose with the "non-humans and magic bad" stance and a perky young engineer, both of whom think she could stand to lighten the fuck up.
And lighten the fuck up, she does, eventually. As she travels, and especially after she meets the other teams, her bigotry is challenged, and ultimately breaks by the time they face down T'akar Duum. The final nail in the coffin for her extremism is that she falls in love with Enkeli, said Inquisitor, and learns he's been possessed by a demonic force that is slowly transforming him. Whereas in the early story, she would've just caved in his skull with her hammer, burnt his corpse, and been done with it, now, she actually wants to try to free him of his curse. After the time skip, much of her time has been spent studying esoteric exorcism rituals and properly studying magic to break her reliance on channeling the Eternal Child - she stops using her channeling because she doesn't know if her connection to the Child would tell the Empire where they were, so she needed another method to dig into her power.
