I just think there’s something incredibly special about being a mage Hawke romancing Anders. All of the other companions find the mage plight annoying at the best of times and WRONG in the worst of times. Hearing their banter HURTS me sometime because hey… you’re saying all mages deserve to have Meredith imprison them because they’re all weak?? IM one of those mages you’re talking about! You think tranquility is fine? That’s ME you’re talking about??

The only one consistently fighting, consistently seeing mages as good and PEOPLE is Anders.

He’ll fight by putting his very life on the line for our freedom. Hawke is willing to throw away his home and be on the run again for their freedom.

I just think that’s really beautiful and really special.

As Ascended Astarion romancer and enjoyer once again I was reminded how I understand what Solasmancer feel, although Solas romance is popular, you have to admit that you pulled a lot of maneuver to dodge the haters with how people are treating Solas.

First I understand your feeling because of Anders.

Andersmancer (I'm also Andersmancer) have to constantly defend our boy from haters and even from Bioware itself, because propaganda about how oppressed fighting back with violence spreading far and wide, it's giving us quite the headache indeed

I can only imagine the headache Solasmancer has to suffer through from fandom when DA4 released.

The common nonsense that I see are:

"He's a terrorist"

"He's a genocidal asshole"

"You are sick in the head for choosing to ascend him"

People are giving others less hate for romancing a straight out evil blorbos than people with more nuance to their problem, path, or evilness or whatever. I see less hate for people who choose to side with Enclave from Fallout or romancing Mizora

Through the years

Like I mentioned before I like to think Hawke was just constantly reacting to the shit going on in Kirkwall and in the aftermath she slowly looses her spirit because of her trauma.

Eliza Hawke through the years:

Act 1 Hawke is filled with optimism and adventure. She's really cocky and immature bc of her age.

Act 2 and 3: she still has a cocky and optimistic attitude but she's matured over the years. She still like to joke but this is when she develops a savior mentality. Over time Kirkwall chips her spirit away in the end.

Dragonage inquisition: peak trauma and depression. She became a people pleaser because of her heroism which makes her have energy to help people but out of publics eye she's kind of a zombie. She would barely eat, barely slept (its a miracle her baby wasn't effected when she gave birth) Anders did his best to help her and support her but he was going through his own issues and was very limited.

I also made my Hawke look more like Bethany. I get that Miranne and Carver are supposed to look like Leeandra and Bethany and Garrett are supposed to look like Malcomme but I just like olive skin and and amber eyes Hawke better
