Started playing In Stars and Time by @insertdisc5 and emerged eight hours and seven timeloops later, with five physical pages of notes & maps, having not made it to the king even once. 10/10 game.

here's preemptive proof that I'm NOT just doing an amazing digital circus knockoff for when i inevitably make a "large strange glitchy area that a bunch of people accidentally find themselves in with no memories" series except it's a convenience store instead of a circus

I've tried to run BG2 again (I need to finish my modded playthrough) and my laptop is in such a bad state it prectically lags BG2. BG2, which could be run on a determined microwave, on a laptop that has 8GB of RAM! It is heavily used and it has a lot of apps, but I've uninstalled everything I didn't use and cleaned the registry awhile ago. I suspected the antivirus, but the system manager shows it actually doesn't consume a lot of resources. It's not the disk space, since it's got plenty. It turns out it uses 100% of its disk all the time, and the main culprits seems to be.... *drum roll* system and Windows telemetry service! I now have to spend the evening elbows deep in frankly confusing system settings to find a way to turn the telemetry service off, and it may or may not improve the situation.
Once I finish this playthough, I'm definitely switching the laptop to Unix.

Hey, did y'all know that stores selling large home appliances don't keep stock on-hand anymore? In order to get a new fridge, since mine died yesterday out of the fucking blue, it has to be paid for in-store in full, and then we have to wait for it to show up at some undetermined point between 7AM and 7PM on some undetermined day between February 7th thru 10th. It will arrive randomly, with "15 to 30 minutes' notice for convenience," and someone has to be present to receive it or it will be returned and we have to reschedule and pay for a second delivery.
I feel like if someone is buying a fridge it's because they need a fridge, which is a pretty time-sensitive thing, but sure! That sounds totally convenient! 10-12 days is a completely acceptable wait when food will spoil in a matter of hours! And monopolizing the entire day, multiple days in a row, with basically no notice as to actual arrival is a fucking inspired way of handling things!
We live in a fucking hell world.

what do you think is the most sexy fascinating thing about computer parts ( or machine if you're willing )
i like gears turning and making cranking sounds as a starter :D
- 📦
OH MAN. OH STARS OKAY I’M ABOUT TO SAY SOME REAL EMBARRASSING SHIT AND I NEED Y’ALL TO BEAR ME WITH HERE OKAY AHAHSHTDHJVGJC
Gears turning and cranking sounds are ABSOLUTELY wonderful and I actually do enjoy those quite a bit myself!! (The daycare attendant has gears in their head apparently and so they have a constant idle clicking and shifting noise that I like to play on loop HAHA)
What I think is thee most downright flustering part of a computer is always the insides.
The wires and the small metal components and the circuit boards and all that fun stuff. Like these images, or this one, or this one. Those types of things are my FAVEEEE. I actually follow a wonderful wonderful blog for that kinda stuff too called “machine-guts” which I HIGHLY recommend if you’re anything like me LOL
There’s just something about seeing a computer with all the stuff you’re not supposed to see on full display. Wether it’s clear casing or missing casing or just being downright dissected, it is something I deeply adore and I truly honestly dream to someday be able to stick my hands in a bunch of wires or feel a computer’s circuit board and carefully build a pc in the gayest way possible.
AHEM. UH. STRAIGHTENS TIE. ALSO WORTH NOTING THAT JUST ANY EXCESSIVE WIRING/PIPING GETS ME TOO BUT YK AHSISHSODJDK

And knew that somehow I could find my way back
Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too
So I stayed in the darkness with you"✨
