// Imagine - Them meeting a hybrid Na'vi (and falling for them) Pt. 1 //
Tumblr media
>( Neteyam, Lo'ak, Aonung)<
>The boys meeting their first Omaticaya/Metkayina Na'vi (Gn terms, they/them)<
>Neteyam<
First running into you on the sands threw him off kilter
Literally, he ran into you and tripped on accident
"Ah, sorry- I should've been looking," He stood quickly, holding his arm out to assist you. Allowing him to really witness you for the first time.
Looking at your skin, almost seemed mythical. The splotches of teal and deep blue standing out beautifully to the sands. However, it was your eyes that captured his interests most.
Instead of either strong yellow or blue, they portrayed a pale green. Almost matching some of the younger plants he had seen coming to your home lands, and truly some of the most unique he had explored.
"Thank you," You grabbed his arm to stand, lightly dusting yourself off afterward. At last, you look up at him, smiling gratefully for his help. It was then you remembered the boy, familiarity showing in your excited voice.
"Oh! You're one of the new people! From the farther lands!" He bounced his head jokingly, appearing to mimic your excitement.
"Yes, you're one of the first people to sound happy for meeting me," He chuckled to himself before holding his arm out again, this time for a proper greeting.
"Neteyam," You reached out, his grip was definitely solid, and more textured than you expected. Curiosity grew in you for the reasoning behind it, but almost feeling embarrassed to ask.
"(Y/n)," As you shook, Neteyam's gaze couldn't seem to stray away from the various differences on your body. Even finding similarities to his own, but not recalling seeing any other villagers like you upon arriving.
Unless there was some secret section to their people for others like you.
His stares did not go unnoticed though, as you let go of his arm and began to shift away.
"Well, I've got to go fufill my duties for today so.." You slid past him, grazing his shoulder, "I'll see you around Neteyam."
As you began to leave the awkwardly growing silence, Neteyam's voice called out behind you.
"(Y/n)! Wait!" His body jogged back next to yours, mouth flapping silently for a moment. "I've been trying to learn about these lands, but I haven't been able to find any help. Could you- possibly, help me? It would give me a chance to talk to someone other than my family for a while." His smile boyish as he scratched the sand off of his arms.
"Uhm, yeah you can help, just can you.." You gesture gently, trying not to seem aggravated, "stop the staring thing you've been doing?"
He closed his mouth, definitely appearing apologetic.
"I'm sorry about that it's just, I've never seen one such as yourself before. It's so-"
"Weird? I know I've heard it all already," You turned away, hurt by his impending reaction. But, it wouldn't have been a new one, so it's best not to cry over the small things.
"Beautiful," Hi voice seemed to echo as it reached your ears, freezing your form in place.
Hesitantly you began to turn, after all, this could still be a cruel joke.
"You look like a gift from the Great Mother herself," his face was now a deep blue, reminding you of the depths of your oceans.
"I- thank you," You were reveling in this shock, too stunned to notice his body moving closer once more.
"So, if you'll still have me," His arm gently nudged against your own, "I really do wish to learn about your lands, but I wish to know more about you too." Eyes bearing into you, as if every inch of your soul was visible.
"Well, if you truly want to join," Leading the way through nearby shrubs, you motioned for Neteyam to follow.
"Now, just how can beauty such as yours," He gestured to your being, "Come to grace my feeble eyes." His joking manner pulling a small laugh from you at his antics, attempting to lighten the mood once more.
"Well, my father is of these lands, one with the waters. But, my mother was a woman of the trees.."
>Aonung<
Seeing you arrive with the other mutant bloods, he didn't expect you to be any different.
But when he truly saw you, he knew that wouldn't be the case.
You looked like his people, but not at the same time. Your hands were like his, not the tree boys, yet you had their skin too.
It wasn't until he was in charge of you for the swimming lessons that his questions became overruled by fascination.
"Okay, you need to breathe from here," placing his hand on your stomach first, watching your first breath come semi-easily.
"Wow- that was actually pretty close, are you sure this is your first time?" His smug smirk flustered you, increasing your heart rate out of balance.
"Yes, I'm sure," His hand removed as his body adjusted, displaying his intent listening for you. "I've lived among the trees all my life, it was my father who lived one with the waters."
Shock flooded his mind, spilling over to his face. He'd never heard of such a relationship among his people. One among the trees and one from their waters, having a child? Let alone a person breathtaking as yourself
Breathtaking? It was true, you're obtuse skin tones seemed to meld perfectly in his eyes. Tail neither wimpy, nor fully his own in similarity.
Your body markings held his eyes the longest though, each one dipping through the shades similar to a river line on his peoples maps.
"I've never thought there were children born that way," He maneuvered towards the rock you had been resting on, vaulting up as to sit next to you.
"Yeah, from what I remember they loved both cultures," You motion to the various decorative beads adorning your body, "Each is a separate piece from their home. I was going to learn about this place when I reached age, but then the sky people came.." He sat and watched as your eyes slowly dulled at the mention, and attempted to cheer your up.
"Well," His body slowly slid back into the water, "I can teach you our ways, but you've got to give me something else in return. Deal?" His hand reached out, offering a curious deal, you took a few moments to consider.
"Deal" Your grip was strong, but didn't match the slight wrinkled callouses on his own hands.
"You have to sneak out with me tonight, so I can give you a 'guide' to our night-life nature," His grin was almost devious towards your reaction, a look of appalled theme clouding your face.
"What- fish boy! I can't just sneak out for the wishes of a virtual stranger!" Letting go, question flashed his face until realization followed-suit.
He hadn't gave you his name this entire time, how badly he wished to sink into the waters and vanish was astounding.
"Yes- I'm Aonung," His arm stuck out a second time, before retreating back.
Too much hand holding for a first meet, already shook once, a second time isn't needed. Until your airy laugh brought him back to reality.
You were laughing at his expression, one of confusion towards his own actions.
"Hello Aonung, I'm (Y/n)," His name rolling off of your tongue had flutters running about his stomach, and odd feeling definitely as he took in your features once more.
Tsireya's voice broke through your small dome of solitude, bubbly excitement infecting your own.
"C'mon! I wanna show you the canals, the eggs should be hatching soon!" Hand grabbed, she jogged you away from the lessons, having deemed enough learning has been done today.
"Okay! Tsireya you're going to rip my arm off!" Your rambunctious laughter slowly fading to the distance, as Aonung watched your forms retreat further and further away.
You were. . . new. But not weird to him. If anything, he was excited to teach you the other ways of your blood.
"So, fish boy," Lo'ak's arm wrapped his shoulder, "how's it feel falling for a tree hugger." The smug bastard was reveling at his reaction, face swiftly flushing to deep cyan anger, before shoving him away stomping off. Away from responsibilities for the day.
All he could do now was hope his sister wouldn't torment him too much about this later.
>Lo'ak<
Lo'ak loved his father, really he did. But sometimes, when things escalated and words are exchanged, he can't help but feel as if he'd never been wanted.
His mother claiming these arguments only happen because Jake sees so much of himself in Lo'ak. But that reasoning can only last so long in the boys mind before it starts to sound like an excuse.
Today had been one of those days, having gotten into trouble again the lectures began to muddle together.
Eventually, he simply left the undergrowth, wanting at least some time to himself before inevitably they come looking for him.
Venturing out, he glanced around searching for any seldom reserves these people could be hiding.
That's how he came upon your form, kneeling among the grasses, almost statuesque.
You were holding some plant, examining it as if your life purpose hid within its leaves.
Tearing his eyes away from the majestic plant, to your lingering figure, still hyper focused in on the nature.
His eyes scanned your features, curiosity wailing in his mind, all he wanted to do was ask you questions.
Were you from his people, or the water clans? Remaining the largest in his head, he definitely saw you as an enigma.
Your head turned his direction, having felt a chill go down your spine, as if someone was watching you . Proving your suspicions to be correct, the lean boy stood frigid, mind racing through all of your eccentricities.
What attracted him to most to you, was your decor. Wearing both beautifully woven pieces from his home, but also intertwined with some of these lands.
Witnessing how the delicate ropes and beads fell onto speckled skin, his questions won him brain over in the end, as he slowly made his way over to your nook in the juncture.
He remained in a low crouch, as if moving to fast would startle you.
"What are you doing?" The tone accusing yet confused as he gazed up at your question.
"Huh?" Standing dumbfounded now, a few feet away from you but all the more able to save every feature of yours in his memory.
"Why are you crouching like a baby?" The smile on your face grew as his eyes widened, seeing his antics as the most ridiculous you've come across in a while.
"Oh! Uhm," His posture straightened, "I was just- examining the bugs." His smile felt tense, so after reveling in the comedy for another minute you loosened up, motioning for him to sit down.
"The life in these lands are, gorgeous," His eyes focused on your arm bands, one woven with the leaves of a tree from his clans lands.
Your eyes followed his, sighing in realization at what drew his attentions, the sigh slightly startled Lo'ak, as he quickly averted back to your face.
"It's one of my mothers pieces," You held out the band, gently placing in in his palm, grazing you fingers back as if hesitant to let go of it entirely. "She was not one with the ocean, instead she lived among the forest."
His face contorted at the statement.
"Really?" His astonishment genuine, his final straw for if this was some stray prank, trying to prove the tree boy stupid.
You fully turned to face him, taking his larger palm in yours before displaying your the various blues on your hand.
"I didn't take after one or the other," pressing his palm to yours showed the matching blue splotches, "Instead Eywa gifted me with traits from both of them."
His eyes did not move away from your connection, feeling the subtle softness on your finger pads. Clearly you hadn't climbed trees in the same way he had.
Sensing your growing sadness, he came up with an idea.
"Have you ever," the opposing hand gestured wildly, "tried to climb as your mother did?"
Pale jaded eyes meeting his prominent yellow, before silently shaking your head no.
"Well, as repayment for intruding on you like this, I can teach you the ways of trees. Just as I was raised."
His smile was radiant to you, almost disarming the dismissal you had planned on giving him originally.
"I don't know.."
"I promise, if you let me teach you I won't let you fall," The smile shifting into one of a smirk as he addressed your nervousness.
"Well," He hung on almost every detail from your words, "If you promise this won't impose on my duties as well, I'll attempt to learn your ways."
"Our ways," His hands doubled, gently sliding your mothers band back into place.
'Yes', you thought back to your dual nature.
Our ways

Courting Rituals - Ao’nung
[ Ao’nung x Omatikaya!reader ]
Request: I like to think that na’vi do court their mates and it’s a different courting ritual depending on the tribe. The metkayina court their mates by showing off their skills in water and being close to them. Aonung courts the male reader by doing that. What he doesn’t know is that the male reader has also been courting him the omaticaya way. How the omaticaya court can be up to you, but my idea was that they show off the skills in the air and helping them in their things. Then both the male reader and aonung go to the spirit tree and confess and the it’s all romantic. You can change anything about the courting rituals.
Warnings: none

Ao’nung was tired of your obliviousness to his attempts. It crossed his mind multiple times that the Omatikaya might do things differently, but it wasn’t as if he could just tell you he’d been trying to get your attention for the past couple weeks and that frustrated him.
Everyone else saw his sad attempts but you. Every time he’d stick to your side a little too close, everyone else left you alone. No one dared to try anything when the chief’s son made it very clear that he had his eyes on you. He couldn’t fathom how even his parents noticed, but you didn’t.
“Where are we going?” you asked, feeling the warm sand beneath your feet as you curiously trailed behind him.
The Metkayina gave no response and dove into the water, leaving you to follow after him.
It had barely been a few seconds after diving and he was already retrieving something in the distance.
‘What are you doing?’
Your hand gestures died down when you felt Ao’nung linger a little too close to you. He could feel the way your whole body tensed as he reached to tuck a flower behind your ear, and he was absolutely enjoying the reaction.
‘It symbolizes passion,’ Ao’nung informed nonchalantly, as if his face weren’t just inches away from yours a few seconds ago. ‘Keep up.’
He was already swimming past you and you could barely process what had just happened, let alone think of a response with the newfound finger talk he’d taught you.
Ao’nung’s small gesture left you even more confused than ever. You’d been fairly obvious with your intentions and he didn’t seem to even notice them, which had you assuming he wasn’t interested. But then he’d occasionally stick a little too close to your side, or separate you from the group just to tuck flowers behind your ear.
‘Are we supposed to be out here?’
‘Relax. We are still inside the wall.’
Just as you resurfaced to breathe, you saw Tsireya busy relocating a bunch of seagrass near the spirit tree, much to her brother’s annoyance. He enjoyed spending time with his sister, but now was the worst possible time she could show up.
Occupied with heaving yourself up to the rocky ground with the extra weight from your wet skin, you missed the way Tsireya’s eyes widened at the sight of you, her eyes subtly snapping to Ao’nung afterwards.
You were practically oblivious to the way she ogled at the flower tucked behind your ear, but you couldn’t deny the fact that there was a tense exchange between the two siblings.
“Here. Help me with these?” Not accepting any objections, she dropped seagrass into your arms which would’ve fallen to the wet floor if it weren’t for your quick reflexes.
“Tsireya,” Ao’nung grumbled, hoping you were too busy with the heavy weight of the seagrass in your arms to notice him.
You had your back faced to them, but you could hear the faint slap coming from behind you, followed by hushed whispers of disbelief.
“Ow. What?” You heard Ao’nung whisper loudly. There was no making out what his sister was saying and by the time you joined them, they’d already composed themselves.
“Come,” Tsireya said giddily as she dragged you away by the hand. Ao’nung was seething in irritation at the way Tsireya kept dragging you away from him. It was getting dark and this was supposed to be your moment. Your time alone with him. Yet here he was stuck separating piles of seagrass whilst your enthusiastic conversation with his sister in the distance rendered through his ears.
“Have you announced the village yet? I can’t believe my brother wouldn’t tell me that he’s chosen a future mate.” You froze at Tsireya’s sudden assumption.
“What? No- we’re not- he didn’t choose me.”
Tsireya’s frown and confusion at your words only seemed to fluster you even more.
Ao’nung didn’t mention anything about mates. Sure, he specifically flirted an awful lot today compared to his usual flirtatious self, but you didn’t think much of it.
“Ao’nung gave that to you, didn’t he?” Tsireya pointed to the flower that you’d forgotten you were wearing. “It’s a way of confessing feelings and attraction, and in most cases, it’s given as a way to say that they choose you as their mate for the future. The flower is a big leap and not just common banter.”
By the time she finished explaining, you were already slightly wide-eyed. You couldn’t tell if she was messing with you, but that was highly unlikely.
“Can we go now?” You heard Ao’nung groan right before you became aware of his presence behind you. Maybe it was just you, but he suddenly felt so close, and the way his chest was brushing against your back ever so slightly caused visible heat to creep up your face. Which of course, hadn’t gone unnoticed by Tsireya.
“Mhm. Thanks,” she mumbled quietly, too busy grinning at the amusing sight in front of her.
“Great. Let’s go,” Ao’nung hurriedly bid, tugging you away from his sister and into a farther alcove.
“Slow down,” you whined and pulled his hand to a stop, clearly annoyed with his antics. To be honest, you weren’t sure if you actually were annoyed. After your conversation with Tsireya, your heart wouldn’t stop threatening to leap out of your chest and it overwhelmed you to the point where standing near him became unbearable. It was irritating how you’d easily flush with his mere presence, which Ao’nung assumed was because of something wrong he did.
“Why do you look-”
“You said it symbolizes passion.”
The Metkayina stared at you cluelessly for a few seconds until your words finally rendered to his head. Tsireya.
“It does.”
“But that’s not why you gave it to me.”
“No.” The boy sighed and rubbed the back of his neck, casting his eyes to the glow of the spirit tree that illuminated the dark. He guided you onto the ground with him, dipping his feet in the water and you followed shortly after him. “I’ve been trying to get your attention for months. I knew I had to do something more obvious. But it doesn’t have to mean I chose you if you don’t want it to. It’s just a big move.”
“I don’t not want you to choose me. I’ve been doing the same.” His eyes flickered up to yours as you started. “Trying to get your attention.I was starting to think you were ignoring me. Well, until today.”
There was no mistaking the light that took over his features at your confession. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. You returned his feelings. After long months of constant signs and shows of affection. He wouldn’t be surprised if his entire village had caught on.
“You were flirting with me this entire time?”
“Yes, you idiot.”
Before you could throw every offensive insult you had at him, you clamped your mouth shut at something tickling your feet and looked down to the glowing source.
A bunch of small fishes playfully swirled around your feet, giving off an orange glow. You didn’t have to look to your right to feel the smile of slight disbelief Ao’nung wore at the sight.
“They like you.” The corner of his lips tugged upwards out of their own accord. You were too busy weaving your feet around the fish to hear him let alone notice how quiet everything’s gotten and how close Ao’nung was silently observing you.
“Huh?” You slowly tear your gaze off the captivating sight to face him and your breath caught itself in your throat when you found that he was already looking at you, his face lingering way too close.
When did he move to sit closer? You hadn’t even noticed his subtle movements, and Ao’nung wasn’t sure if he’d noticed either. He was always subconsciously drawn to you.
Feeling a spark of boldness, the Metkayina gently grabbed your chin with his fingers, not uttering a single word as he watched your lips slightly part at his actions. He was clearly satisfied with your reaction and took it as a sign to continue, closing the gap between you two by gently pressing his lips against yours.
You let out a surprised gasp and Ao’nung didn’t even try to hold back the smug grin you felt against your lips at the emitted sound. His tongue darted into your mouth the second your lips parted, hands wandering aimlessly across the length of your body.
“Eywa-“ the boy groaned as he reluctantly pulled away from you, the sound causing heat to rush up to the tip of your ears.
It took a few seconds longer than you’d expected to fully come back to your senses and process what had just happened, but when you looked at him, you found Ao’nung already gazing at you with a look you couldn’t decipher.
“Skxawng.” Now he just looked offended at the insult and the not so gentle punch you gave to his arm.
“What?”
“You could’ve given me that flower sooner.”

Arranged (Ao’nung x y/n x Neteyam)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It had been a couple weeks since the forest people had arrived and life was back to normal. For most people but you had caught the eye of the oldest Sully brother. Since day one he would take any chance to talk to you or just be near you but you refused to acknowledge or accept his feeling.
Because you were promised to the son of the Olo’eyktan since childhood though you weren’t exactly against it he was always genuine, kind and gentle with you, you two grew up always together until the Sully’s came he didn’t like them and there differences but you happily accepted them and helped them which bothered him.
Not only because of your kindness to them but because he too realised Neteyam’s behaviour around you and it made him incredibly jealous.
Neteyam had recently joined your hunting party and Ao’nung was not happy about it.
That morning before leaving with everyone Ao’nung had pulled you aside to voice his frustration about Neteyam. “Does he really have to come!” “Yes your father wants him to learn” you say holding his hand “why are you so mad?” “Haven’t you seen the way he looks at you” he say’s frustrated “Ao’nung please stop worrying about it so much I’ve already told him to stop” you lightly squeeze his hand to reassure him.
Once you were all outside the reef and in the harsh dark open ocean you could feel the strength of the waves hitting against your ilu’s “this way” Ao’nung pointed leading the party. You usually liked going hunting with your friends but this time was different ever so often you caught Neteyam looking your way thankfully Ao’nung was to busy hunting to notice.
You were all home by noon, Ao’nung and his friends took the fish into the village and it was only you and Neteyam left by the ilu’s. strangely enough you found yourself watching him the way he spoke with his ilu and the muscles he was gaining from all the swimming “no,no,no stop” you thought to yourself hanging your saddle and making your way into the village “y/n” you heard from behind you “wait” Neteyam was running after you “can we talk?” He asked “about what?” He didn’t say anything just gestured you to follow him.
Your curiosity took over and you followed him. He lead you to an empty side of the village you’d never been to before, “I’m sorry about before” he said sitting on a large flat rock “oh umm” you didn’t know how to respond remembering how you yourself were admiring him just moments before. “Don’t worry about it no one saw” he looks at you confused usually you would be annoyed or angry worried someone would notice his behaviour towards you but you simply stood there refusing to look at him.
He stood walking over to you “y/n are you ok” he asked putting his hand on your shoulder. You hated the way you felt in that moment when his hand touched your shoulder you wanted to disappear forever but instead you calmed your self and lifted your head meeting his soft gaze “I’m fine don’t worry” he didn’t look convinced “we should go back if they see were both missing Ao’nung will throw a riot” all he did was nod following you back.
Making your way back to the beach you could hear Ao’nung and his friends, looking back you realised Neteyam had gone another way which was probably for the best. All your feeling and thoughts were a mess and you couldn’t tell anyone not even Ao’nung.
Later that night you sat on the cold sand looking out into the never ending ocean, you were snapped out of thought when someone sat next to you putting a arm around your waist “hey” Ao’nung said softly letting you rest your head on his shoulder you let out a short sigh feeling the comfort of his touch you both sat there in silence for a little while then you lifted your head to meet his gaze “if you could pick anyone else who would you pick?” He looks at you slightly shocked “why do you ask” he replies now drawing circles on your arm “I’m just curious” “well then maybe that girl Tsireya is always with” he smirks “what really!” You ask not expecting that kind of response from him he chuckles softly “no, no matter how many choices I had I’d always choose you” he says kissing your forehead.
You melt at his words but not long after a feeling of guilt grows inside you remembering the events that happened earlier. You sit up pulling away from him a part of you wants to tell him everything and apologise a million times but the other knows it will hurt him more then it could ever hurt you all you can manage to say is “I’m sorry” you whisper “hmm?” He looks at you for anything else but you don’t say anything else “what are you sorry for?” He ask’s.
But before you can come up with something another mated pair walks into the beach you notice Ao’nung watching them walk past the two of you before turning back to you with a soft smile on his face “that’ll be us someday” feeling the warmth and excitement in his words you can’t help but smile kissing him on the cheek then sitting back next to him laying your head on his chest.

"so, your... thing bleeds every month?"
you nod
"are you stupid?
"i'm sorry?"
ao'nung clicks his tongue, looking at you with disbelieve. "that means you're doing something, only Eywa knows what, to yourself. and you’re doing it so badly that it bleeds-"
you hit him on the head, "no! what are you even thinking?"
"no, but seriously" neteyam looks at you with concern, "forgive me for watching you, but this morning i saw you wash your blanket that’s literally soaked with blood"
your face starts to heat up, "that means the cloth i use wasn't enough-"
"3 pieces of cloth to soak your blood. and it wasn't even enough?" tsireya's voice filled with worry, "are you sure you're okay? we could ask my mother to patch you up"
"reya, im fine-"
"no you're not! you came to her for painkillers this morning, to mend your stomach cramps!"
"its probably tape worms"
"no shit", rotxo snickers
"or just a real bad constipation"
"rotxo, ao’nung please” kiri rolls her eyes, tired of their stupidity. “they clearly said that the bleeding comes from their other below"
not long after lo'ak snaps his head towards you, mouth agape. "holy shit. i think i know what's going on", then quickly moves closer to you. his face just a few inches from yours, his terrified look terrifies you
"my mother experienced the same things as you, when we were about to have tuk. stomach hurting, below bleeding- "
"no. fucking. way” rotxo clasps his mouth, “are you about to give birth?"
"what?"
ao’nung’s jaw dropped. “who knocked you up?”
“that’s it i’m taking you to the tsahik”
“STOP”
your friends went quiet.
they could only stare at your flushed face as your breathing went erratic.
you gulp, trying to calm yourself down. you close your eyes, inhaling a good amount of oxygent to fill your lungs and letting your mind go blank. then, you could open your mouth again
"as you all know, female bodies bear children in their uterus, yes?"
they all nod
"good. now the uterus, in human bodies specifically, would prepare for pregnancy every month-"
"so you need to get pregnant every month?"
"shut up rotxo"
"wait a minute" kiri cuts you off, "you’re not pregnant, but you’re currently bleeding. so the bleeding occurs when the pregnancy doesn’t happen?"
"yup. because i'm not pregnant, my womb's lining shreds out"
their terrified screams deafens you

Neteyam;
You intricately weaved one string through another, licking your lips in deep focus. Your hand searched the ground for a bead, sliding it onto the two strings once you found one.
You failed to realize that someone had been approaching from behind, flinching hard when you felt the feather-light touch on the small of your back. Snapping your head around you were met with the familiar sight of Neteyam, pulse quickening with nerves instantly.
“Skxawng,” you hissed, gripping onto the necklace like a vice, “you scared me Neteyam.”
He laughed, the sound resonating through one ear and out of the other. It was a sound you could never tire of. “I am sorry,” he whispered, shifting his body to move in front of you, “what are you making?” he asked when he noticed the object in your hands.
“A necklace,” you said coolly.
“For who?” you sensed hesitation in his voice, flicking your gaze up at him without adjusting your head.
“Well, I can’t say. it was supposed to be a surprise,” you mumbled, hinting to him subtly.
His lips formed a tight line, uncertainty etched over his face. A hand reached out and planted itself over yours firmly. At this you froze your ministrations and looked back up to him slowly.
“Who is it for?”
“Neteyam—”
“Oh, come on,” he urged. You sighed and looked down.
Crawling around him, you stopped behind him and he twisted his head to watch you. “Za’u, move your hair.”
He wasted no time in doing so.
You wrapped it around his neck and tied gently, beads clinking against each other while doing so. You moved again and examined the jewelry on his neck.
It was a perfect fit.
Smiling proudly, you drawled closer, locking eyes with him. “Luckily, you arrived just as I was finishing,” you smiled, gaze wandering all over his face.
Neteyam looked at you intensely, an indecipherable expression on his face. Butterflies swarmed the pit of your belly, your heart beating erratically. Opening your mouth to speak again, his golden eyes dropped to your lips.
“Made for you. Only you.” you whispered, fingers still looped around the string of the necklace.
“Yeah?” he grinned, gaze never leaving its place on your lips. You nodded and Neteyam leaned in close, too close. Nerves were attacking your better judgment and you were failing to think of anything other than the close proximity between the two of you.
His eyes darted to yours for some kind of approval, and approval was all he found.
Connecting his lips with yours, a warm hand found solace on your mid-thigh, his free one tugging you in by the waist.
The two of you remained like that until both were quietly gasping for breath.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Lo’ak;
“Come on bro, it’s now or never,” Neteyam said in a hushed tone, shaking his younger brother by the shoulders.
The pair was staring at you from afar, watching the way you splashed and played around in the water with their sisters and Tsireya. “You’ve been holding out for forever,” he insisted, giving Lo’ak an encouraging push.
He groaned, rolling his shoulders in exasperation. Lo’ak began making shallow, hesitant steps towards the water, insides churning with trepidation. As he neared the water, you took notice and paused, smiling at him.
“Lo’ak! Come! We were just about to swim,” you waved him over, turning on your heel and venturing deeper into the water. He quickly rushed over and ducked his head underwater.
You were already several feet under, but you stopped to look up at him.
“Hurry,” you signed, remaining still while waiting for him to catch up.
He swam as quickly as he could, when he reached you, you intertwined your hand with his and swam toward the rest of the group.
As you did so, Lo’ak had to refrain from pulling you back. He wanted to take you somewhere you could be alone to tell you, but he silently followed alongsuit.
You stopped at the large rock that everyone typically practiced breathing at and hoisted yourself onto it, followed by Kiri and the others. The group sat around in a circle and began to engage in conversation. Lo’ak, of course, choosing a spot next to you.
After a while of chatter you found yourself growing bored, so you wordlessly slipped away and into the water. No one paid much mind, other than a certain someone.
As you dove deeper, you really took into account just how much beauty the reef held, reaching out to touch the beautiful scenery and animals. Spinning around, to say that you were surprised to see Lo’ak, so close into your vicinity of space, would be a major understatement.
His eyes widened and he moved back immediately, signing a quick apology before moving closer cautiously.
“Come to the surface? I want to tell you something.” you watched his hands, meeting his eyes and nodding slowly before resurfacing.
You pushed the hair out of your face as soon as you breached the water, Lo’aks head popping up not too long after you. “What’s up?” you asked, brows furrowing slightly. You watched as he looked back to everyone, turning back to you and grabbing your arm gently before guiding you behind a larger rock.
You were confused, but played along without complaint.
“Listen, I’ve wanted to tell you this for a long time,” he mumbled, avoiding your eyes. Nervousness slowly began to trickle into your system as you grabbed his shoulder, brows furrowed deeper this time. “What’s this about Lo’ak?”
“I like you,” he spat abruptly, “I like you so much.”
You froze, hand slowly slipping from his shoulder. His own hand burst out of the water and held it, searching your eyes for any twinge of rejection or disgust.
Your bottom lip quivered a bit as you registered his words, face flushing and heart racing. “You like me? You’re sure of this?” your voice sounded nothing like you as you spoke.
“I’ve never been more sure— not of anything—” he whispered hastily, eyes glowing with desperation.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
When you’d returned to the others stuck to each other like moth to a flame, you would have expected some reaction out of them. But not an ounce of shock came from them— any of them.
You were told with utmost smugness that you ‘showed hardly any restraint when the other was around’, and that the attraction between you two was palpable to anyone who had eyes.
Sheepishly, you lowered your head and leaned further into Lo’ak, who greedily took in the feeling of your touch and returned it with enamored words and embraces.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Ao’nung;
The last thing you’d probably ever expected to see was the eldest son of the Olo’eyktan stumbling into your marui.
“What?” you blinked, taken off guard. It wasn’t quite a question, but then again, you wanted answers.
Ao’nung stood wordlessly, eyes boring into yours. The awkwardness of the encounter had the temperature feeling hotter than it really was.
You stood and took a few steps, stopping right in front of him. Still, he was quiet. He grabbed onto your forearm and dragged you outside, pressing your backside into the soft material of the marui.
“Everything oka—” you wanted to ask, but this had Ao’nung sighing loudly and dropping his head, as if he was getting ready to say something he really, really didn’t want to say.
“Ao’nung!” you heard the familiar voice of Rotxo. It sounded extremely close.
Almost as if it was coming from the opposite side of your—
His head lifted with quick speed, bringing his body impossibly close to yours. You were utterly trapped between the exterior of your home and the warmth of the boy you were head over heels in love with.
“Let me kiss you,” he pleaded, breath fanning over your lips. The request alone left you breathless and took all words from your mouth. Sounds of multiple hurried footsteps were heard from around the marui, hinting that Rotxo was approaching quickly. Too quickly for Ao’nungs liking.
He hissed in frustration, meeting your gaze.
“Okay. Yes.” you whispered, in a matter of seconds his soft lips were on yours.
“Ao’nung you wuss!” Rotxo’s laughter resonated through the air, “I knew you wouldn’t—” his sentence quieted and never finished. You pried one eye open, not so much that it was noticeable, but just enough to see the look of astonishment on their faces.
The sight alone had you smiling into the kiss, bringing your hands to his chest while his fingers gently caressed the skin of your outer thigh.
Their footsteps could be heard walking away, yet you wanted nothing more than to continue feeling his touches.
He was first to break the kiss, leaving you chasing his lips for more. He gazed at you through hooded lids.
A smug grin broke out onto your face.
“Did you wanna tell me just what that was, Ao’nung?” you queried, voice full of amusement.
He clicked his tongue and lifted himself off of you, walking away.
Your jaw fell slack and you took off after him, yanking his tail playfully, “Oh no! We are not done here!”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Rotxo;
Rotxo had a genuine staring problem.
From the day you and your family arrived at the Awa’atlu village, seeking a safe sanctuary, he would eye you up and down until you had to move yourself away from him.
Furthermore, whenever his friends would hurl insults at you, he would take to defending you and your siblings against their harsh words.
Apparently, it was extremely uncharacteristic of him, as you’ve caught him and Ao’nung quarreling about it once or twice.
“Seriously, what’s gotten into you?” Ao’nung grumbled, throwing a fish to an ilu. “I’m starting to think those freaks have really gotten into your head.”
Rotxo stood in silence beside him, glowering at his side profile. When Ao’nung turned to look at him, a wide grin broke out onto his face “Don’t tell me they already have?” he scoffed, chest rising and falling with laughter.
“Cut it out, Ao’nung.”
The teasing smile faded slowly, with him now staring at Rotxo with a hardened jaw. “Or what? Gonna get your freak friends on me? They’re not even real Na’vi, Skxawng.”
Rotxo hissed, fangs gleaming as he flaunted them.
Ao’nung mirrored his actions.
It was obvious what was next to come, and just as you were about to step in, the sound of a horn sounded out.
Many Metkayinas rushed out of their homes, jumping onto their ilu’s hastily.
In the distance, long and heavy fins could be seen lifting up in the water.
The Tulkun had returned.
Ao’nung glared at Rotxo for a moment longer, before turning and running to join the others.
You were too busy watching him to realize that Rotxo had spotted you, staring at you with an intensity that had goosebumps rising on your arms. You crossed your arms and tentatively held his eyes, slowly backing away to join the others as quickly as you could.
Now, you were put in the same position, watching as he and Ao’nung began to argue over how defensive he was over you and your siblings.
Ao’nung was first to lunge at Rotxo, knocking him onto the ground. He growled, standing quickly and whirling around, slapping Ao’nung clean across the face with his tail.
He was grabbed by the ankle and knocked down once more, the left side of his face making a collision with the ground.
You cringed, knowing it would more than likely leave a nasty mark.
He lifted himself and climbed on top of Ao’nung, bringing his fist down to his face several times before he was pushed off, now being Ao’nungs turn to land a few.
While the situation was beyond humorous to you, you figured it would be best to put a stop to it before it got any worse.
Quickly moving on the sand, you mustered up all of your strength and shoved Ao’nung away, defensively standing in front of Rotxo.
At first, he wore an expression of anger, and then realization.
“So this is why you’ve been acting like this, huh? Over some five-fingered dreamwalker,” he chuckled dryly, wiping some blood from his split open lip.
You hissed, eyes darkening. “I am no such thing. Leave now.”
He circled around you, eyes never leaving your form. Stopping for a moment, he tilted his head, examining you thoroughly.
Rotxo had stood ages ago, only now taking the spot next to you.
“Are you so stupid that you cannot understand what I said? Leave. Now.” you seethed, glaring daggers onto him.
Scoffing, Ao’nung slowly backed away and left, never bothering to look back.
After a stretched moment of silence, you turned to look at Rotxo, only to find that he had already been looking at you.
There it was— that same stare with the intensity that had you feeling like he was burning lasers into your skin with just his eyes.
“Za’u,” you grabbed his hand and led him to your marui.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
You had gathered all your medical supplies and was now kneeled in front of Rotxo, gently taking care of his wounds.
Lightly dabbing his open gashes with a disinfectant, he sharply exhaled at the sting and grasped your wrist without realizing it. When he did though, he was quick to snatch his hand back, at this you smiled softly.
“All done.” you reassured him, packing up whatever leftover material you had and throwing away used items. You failed to realize that Rotxo watched your every move, eyes never daring to leave you.
When you turned your attention back to him, you took notice of the newfound glint in his eyes.
“Why do you stare at me all the time?” you asked while sitting yourself in front of him. His ears perked up and he looked away instantly.
“I do not,” he said, defiant.
You scoffed, moving your head so that you could meet his eyes. He refused to look at you, standing abruptly. “Thanks for the help,” he grumbled, making an attempt at stomping away, but you were quick to grab hold of his hand.
“Rotxo, do not leave. I am truly curious.”
He paused, internally battling himself. It wasn’t long until he gave in and fell to the ground before you.
“I don’t think you are a freak.” he whispered so quiet, you almost didn’t catch it.
You blinked, a smile pulling at your lips. “Ah. How reassuring.”
“No! …No.” he seethed, tugging at your wrist firmly. “You don’t understand what I’m saying.”
You traced patterns into the back of his palm, searching his eyes with furrowed brows.
“So tell me what you’re saying.”
A few beats of silence passed as Rotxo averted his eyes, nervously pulling at his bottom lip with his teeth. It took ages before he finally mustered up the courage to look at you.

Read Below Cut:
You stared at the remnants of last night’s dinner on the floor. You had vomited, again. This had been happening in the mornings, on and off for the last few weeks. You did not feel sick, so why were you sick?
Normally the vomit happened at home. Normally Neteyam had already left to tend to his duties. Normally you could clean it up and pretend like it never happened.
The heat of your embarrassment swarmed over your neck and shoulders, sweeping up into your cheeks and ears. You knelt, frozen in place over the bile you had just produced.
On Mo’at’s tent floor.
She was practically, and legally, your grandmother, and had been since you were nineteen-years-old. But you never thought of her like that. She was your Tsahik, your teacher, your elder, your spiritual guide, healer of the Omaticaya.
And you had vomited on her floor.
Mo’at cleared her throat, sitting across from you, your shameful vomit between you. Tears welled in your eyes. This was the worst day of your life.
“Well, luckily it was just you and me here, hm,” Mo’at said with an unusual lightness, a sweetness that was enough to spin you out of your own thoughts.
“My Tsahik, I am so sorry I do not know-”
“Don’t be stupid, how can you not know?” The typical biting Mo’at that you were familiar with came back, quickly. The woman leaned forward with a cloth, mopping up your watery bile like a dealdly secret to be kept between the Tsahik and her assistant.
Now, you really did not know what she meant. You sat up taller, finding a cloth to wipe your mouth clean, something tangible to hold onto.
“My Tsahik, I promise you, I do not know what you think I know.” You whispered into the cloth at your mouth. Mo’at discarded her cloth that blotted your vomit into a wooden bowl. Some poor trainee will deal with it later. She squinted at you, taking you in. Harshly, she grabbed at your wrists, inspecting your palms, and your shaking, delicate fingers.
She huffed as she held your wrist tightly in her left, her right hand poking at your cheek, breasts and thighs. “Hey!” you had enough of her prodding, as you pulled your wrist from her vice-like grip.
“Lay down. Now.” The Tsahik made moves to push you back onto the woven mats on the floor. You were scared and confused and honestly, getting rather emotional. You were still reeling over the embarrassment the vomit caused you. More and more these days you found yourself crying over nothing, or getting easily embarsassed.
You laid still, scared of Mo’at, and, scared of vomiting again. Flat on your back, you stared at the keen weavings of Mo’at’s medical tent. You hissed, looking down, Mo’at has placed a cold hollowed stone on your lower stomach, her ear pressed against it, she furrowed her brow bone.
The elder woman jerked up once she was satisfied, discarding her stone instrument, she settled back into her seated position on the floor, you mirroring her.
“Tsahik-”
“You are with child, quite obviously.” Mo’at had cut you off, while simultaneously giving you news that ripped all the air from your lungs.
Your mind was spinning. You were happy, you were sad, you were excited, you were embarrassed. How could you not see the signs within yourself? Obviously you and Neteyam mated often-
Oh, Eywa.
Neteyam.
You were going to have to tell him.
It was not like you both hadn’t spoken on the topic before, you knew you both wanted kids, a family. Additionally, children were expected, a future Olo'eyktan must be secured.
But the two of you had not planned for it to happen so soon. You had been so careful, tonics and teas. God, Neteyam pulled out most of the time.
Subconsciously one hand laid across your abdomen, the other covering your mouth. You felt your eyes struggling to focus on Mo’at, on anything really. You felt like a shell. A shell with a small shell inside.
“How far along?” You whispered, normally you would scold yourself for your informality towards Mo’at, but you would give yourself a break just this once.
“A month, maybe two. Nothing more, nothing less. You are not physically showing yet but you cannot be far away.” The rare gentleness from Mo’at rose its head once again. You were grateful for it. “Now, my lovely girl, go. Go collect yourself and tell my grandbaby that you’re having my great-grandbaby.” Mo’at said softly, helping you to your feet.
You couldn’t remember the short walk from Mo’at’s tent to the home you shared with Neteyam. You felt as if you were on auto-pilot, blacking out and teleporting from place to place. You quickly sat on the side of your shared bed. Furs and gossamer blankets providing comfort to your shaking legs. Laying back, you stared at the gossamer canopy Neteyam had only recently erected above your bed, dangling your legs off the side.
You rested your hands on your stomach, trying to etch into your memory what it felt like now, knowing that it will eventually swell with the growth of your baby.
Neteyam’s baby.
Realistically, you knew that Neteyam won’t be angry. Shocked? Maybe. But angry? Neteyam had never, ever been angry with you before. Emotionally? It was a different story, you imagined Neteyam being frustrated and screaming at you. You imagined him being disappointed. You imagined him packing his things and leaving. The passing thoughts alone were enough to put you on edge.
Sighing aloud, you had a look at the water clock resting on the other side of the room, you still had a few hours before Neteyam was to return. You still had a few hours to pull yourself together and work out how you were going to spit it out.
Neteyam ran his hands over his face, pulling up his ionar onto his forehead. His whole body burned from that flight. He had missed you today, not usually staying out on patrol this late, but the young recruits needed training, and Neteyam was always eager to please. But, he was a domestic man at heart, he loved being at home with you, loved pulling you to his chest, loved making whatever new thing you asked for.
He loved nesting, he realised. Loved doing it with you.
Striding from the Ikran keeper, Neteyam wanted nothing more than to see you.
The warm lights of your home welcomed him, though when he peered through the gap in the curtain flap, all he saw was your anxious figure, pacing back and forth, muttering to yourself. The air was wrong, Neteyam had never really seen you like this. He watched quietly, confused as to how you had not scent him already, something was wrong with you and he would be damned if he did not find out what.
“Oh Eywa, what am I supposed to say?” You prayed silently, wringing your wrists. You thought the pacing would bring you clarity, as it often provided your father-in-law. Yet you felt empty. And so unbearably full at the same time. In the few hours you had to wait for your mate you had come to love the little life growing in your womb.
You were so excited. You could hardly contain yourself. Neteyam would be the most perfect father. But as the night grew closer your brain started to pick itself apart.
It was all too much. You fell to your knees in the middle of your home, letting the tears flow freely now.
Neteyam did not let that stand for long. He quickly rushed in, picking you up and placing you in his lap. His strong arms snaking around your sobbing form. Your head quickly found is chest. He felt your hot tears streaming down your beautiful face and onto his skin. Neteyam hushed you, like he watched his mother do with his siblings, gently rocking you back and forth. It was so silent, save from your sobbing hiccups. Neteyam did not dare speak until you had stopped.
“My love, what has happened?” He asked gently, pulling away to cup your delicate face in his large, calloused hands. His eyes found yours, and he could see something was creating great turmoil in the labyrinth of your complicated, intelligent mind.
You sighed in response, shaking your head. Trying to find any courage at all. Knowing you have news that will change the course of someone’s life was not something you dealt with well. Maybe you were not cut out to be the clan’s spiritual leader as Tsahik. But that was a different problem for a different day.
Neteyam placed a chaste kiss to your lips, then your cheeks, under your eyes, the tip of your nose, your forehead. You were loved, he said through the gesture. You are safe here.
“Neteyam,” You started, softly. You were always softspoken. Something of which drove Neteyam crazy in love with you. So gentile, so docile, so calm. “I have something to tell you.” Neteyam’s stomach started to flip at your words, anxiety settling in, but like any good soldier, he willed his face into a blank expression. Giving nothing away.
And, in turn, giving you nothing.
“Continue my little love.” He said, putting your baby hairs behind your ears, smoothing your loose hair down as you spoke.
“Neteyam,” You cleared your throat, forcing that invisible, metaphysical bubble away. “I am with child.” The words hung in the air between you, and all you could do was wait for your mate to respond.
Neteyam felt like he was dreaming. Of all the things he prepared for you to say, you being pregnant was not one of them.
His tail betrayed him before his mouth did. Rapidly going side to side, the smile that erupted on Neteyam’s face threatened to split his jaw apart.
You were carrying a baby. His baby. Your baby, together, with him.
You melted into Neteyam’s searing kiss as he held you flush to his body. Pulling apart, Neteyam’s hands rested on your stomach, bright eyed and smily. He kissed your stomach over and over and over again. Peppering the whole area with his hot lips. You giggled at him. He was perfect.
“Oh (y/n), I am so happy.” Neteyam kissed you again, your giggles erupting between kisses as he could not decide on what he wanted to look at, your face or your stomach. “How long have you known, sweetheart?” He rested his forehead on yours, his hands resting on your still flat stomach.
“I found out earlier today.” You couldn’t help but smile. “Your grandmother knew.”
Neteyam laughed, his shoulders shaking, beads of his braids clinking together.
“She knows everything.”
That night as the two of you laid in bed, Neteyam spooning you, you rose out of your slumber briefly. Neteyam’s tail had wrapped itself around your thigh, your own tail sat under your abdomen of its own accord. Neteyam’s fingers splayed over your stomach. He was so protective already. So in love with you and your unborn baby.
You smiled. Shutting your eyes you thanked Eywa for gifting you with something so precious.

Hi :зз can I please request domestic headcanons with aged-up Ao'nung and gn! reader? ❤️
Oh god yeah! He'd make a good husband if his dad is any example.
Pairing: Aonung x Reader
Tags: fluff, married couple, domestic life, cuddles, swimming, talking about the future, protectiveness, purring, banter, teasing, soft kisses
A/N: I wonder how many time skips there will be in between movies. There's bound to be some cause they can't fit 3 more movies into a span of just a few months or even a year or two. Time skips are always fun for me, even if they happen at the very end, cause you can see where the character began and where they ended up.
Tumblr media
He's a morning person
Let's his tail fall around you, all the way around your back and pulls you even closer to him
Since you've gotten married you've noticed that he's somehow gotten more affectionate with you the he's been in the past few years
It's almost like you've just started dating again and he can't get enough of being close to you
Enjoys quiet breakfasts with you where you lean against his chest and you slowly feed each other while also trading kisses
Jokes about you being his favorite snack while he bites at your fingers, neck and shoulder
Has to go on a long morning swim with you every day
Sometimes you just lay in his arms on the ocean floor for a while, admiring the life around you
Even in the water you can feel his chest rumbling against your back
Kissed the back of your hand while your fingers are intertwined whenever he has to go anywhere without you
Looks forward to having kids eventually but for now taking care of your people is more important
Would love to travel with you to all the other islands
Still competitive and gets into lots of little tussles with his friends
Does the same with you, both of you have to watch each others back
Perks up whenever he sees you wearing the necklace he made you for your wedding

♡. "it was always him, in the end." —
Tumblr media
synopsis / your love for neteyam knows no bounds.
gn!omaticayan!reader | angst. reader being down bad for neteyam because this is you guys we're talking about. i hate this, anon im sorry this sucks ASS
Tumblr media
it was always him, in the end.
you would always love neteyam, as young as you are right now, you know your feelings wouldn't change. it was always ever him. you would always go back to him. every breath you took and step you take, it was all because of him. neteyam. neteyam, neteyam, neteyam, neteyam. he didn't know it yet, but there was someone out there who loved him more than they could ever love themselves. he just didn't know how close this person was to him.
you'd had always been by neteyam's side for as long as you could remember. you flied with him, fought with him, ran with him, ate with him— everything with him. you were inseparable. if someone asked neteyam who his ride or die was, he'd answer with "y/n." and his tone would be sure & certain. you'd smile at that thought. you'd smile at him in general.
you left behind your roots to go with him and his family— who at this point, saw you as one of their own. you left behind everything you knew in the forest, and you left behind who you were — because from then on, you would adapt to the metkayinan ways. you would adapt with him. everything was better if it was with him, you thought. everything was better.
Tumblr media
sat on a marui pod, feet in the water, swishing and swoshing — unbothered by the way changed around you— because the only thing you could be bothered with was his ceaseless bickering. you whacked him, albeit playfully — as he mentioned something about you and aonung getting along too well. "aonung and i are nothing but acquaintances, neteyam— you know that, i know that, and you know what? i am pretty sure that aonung doesn't see me as anything more than a clueless nuisance!" you exclaimed, obviously tired of how the na'vi was treating you. neteyam only laughed, placing a hand on your hand nonchalantly.
your whole world blossomed.
you looked up at him, caught off guard by the sudden affection— eyes creasing as you smiled.
"you know," neteyam started, "the crap we're going through? it's tolerable. 'cause of you. you make it fun enough." he admitted, quietly.
it was as if he set you free. it was so random, but it was like ridding you of all your anxieties and that's why you loved him— that's when you knew. you were always inlove with him. you just didn't know you were because you were too busy being focused on him & loving him & cherishing him and—
being his, before he even knew it.
it was always him, in the end.
Tumblr media
it was always him, in the end.
he was where all your thoughts stemmed from, where they returned to in times of anxiety. it was neteyam's voice you'd imagine lulling you to sleep, loving mutters of his imagined love for you. it was always him you'd return to, after a battle gone awry— because you wanted to make sure he was alive.
it was always him you'd return to.
so it was no surprise when you returned to him in the midst of battle, watching him fight alone as he distracted them from his siblings. the only thing that crossed your mind in those few seconds were—
help him.
help him, help him, help him.
and so you did.
you came to his aid, kicking one of the skydemons over— and you took a hit for him. you flinched at the sting, but you didn't waver anymore. you could only look at him. neteyam.
neteyam, neteyam, neteyam.
when you met him, both of you at the ripe age of five, all you ever really wanted to do was talk to him. to impress him. to befriend him. now, at the end of your life, all of your thoughts go back to him.
will he be okay? what will become of him? will he remember me?
will he remember me?
it was always him, at the end.
Tumblr media
"y/n! Y/N!" he cried, shaking you — trying to get you to wake up, trying to get you to smile at him again— but to no avail. he laid your head on the rock ever so gently, hoping that you'd be touched at his gentleness like you always were— hoping you'd live, by some miracle done by Eywa. he cried, holding your hand to his face and kissing it tenderly.
"y/n—" he hiccuped, unable to finish his sentence. he hoped you'd be able to hear him, anyway. wherever you were. perhaps you were waiting for him, with Eywa? to cross. he hopes he won't leave you waiting for too long. it's as if your life flashes before his eyes, memories of you replaying in his head— and he realizes;
he's always been with you. everytime you weren't there, he'd listen to the seas and go— "they'd like this." everytime he passed by a plant, he'd think, "I'll give it to them, someday." everytime he ate tasty food, he'd go "they'd love this!" — and through all those moments, in some way, you were there with him. because he could never let you go.
"y/n, listen to me one last time, okay?" he starts, voice shaky as he leans in — whispering something only you can hear. a secret you'll keep.
"I love you."
he says what he needs to say, and leans away. he stays with you, your head in his lap— for the rest of the battle. he protects you like you're alive, because in some way, you are. in the trees, in the seas, in everywhere. neteyam sighs tiredly, having dealt with enough these past weeks, and now— dealing with your death. he mourns you in the silence he has been given, either from the fact his ears are ringing, or the battle has paused.
"it was always you, in the end, wasn't it?"

how jealous are they?
neteyam, lo’ak, and aonung x gn!na’vi!reader
also, please send requests. i have no idea what to write
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
neteyam
neteyam is right in the middle when it comes to jealousy. he has the self confidence (and ego) to know that all the guys constantly staring at you in awe have no chance with you because they’re nothing compared to him. but, he is not at all fond of people always sneaking winks at you and making flirty remarks when he’s right next to you. he acts as though he doesn’t notice, he finds it amusing letting them be delusional. he’ll swiftly wrap his arm around your waist, still acting like he doesn’t see anyone, and pull you closer until your back is pressed against his chest. he leans down to give you a small but rather desperate kiss on your cheek, and only then will he finally acknowledge the person by greeting them with a threatening glare and a cocky smirk with his lips still on your face. he will take any opportunity to piss off somebody he knows likes you by showing that you only have eyes for him
lo’ak
lo’ak is a jealous man. simple. his jealously is driven by both his insecurity and possessive nature. which because of that, he tends to show his jealousy two different ways. when he’s around you, he expresses his jealously in a protective manner. unlike neteyam, he is much less subtle when he acts on his jealousy. he has no shame in confronting a person when he thinks they were being “too friendly” to you, and often times it isn’t a kind confrontation. not to mention there have been several times he’s ended up fighting somebody because he can’t control his jealousy. but..when he’s alone, his anger turns straight into a sad feeling. often times, the same night something took place because of his jealousy, he’ll ramble to payakan how afraid he is of losing you. his aggressive behavior is him trying to block out his insecurities and fears of you leaving him. although he would never admit that to you, you figured it out a while ago when he would always have the same sad and quiet expression whenever you were patching him up from a fight he caused.
aonung
aonung is overly jealous. he’ll mistake innocent kind gestures as flirting and then get confused as to why you’re mad at him after he hisses at the person. he’s also ten times more jealous if it involves neteyam. both him and neteyam are the eldest sons of a clan leader, and especially because neteyam is a skilled warrior, aonung can’t help but feel possessive over you because he’s afraid you think neteyam is better. whicchhh leads to him doing everything in his capability to keep you away from him. not a day goes by where he doesn’t tell you to stay away from neteyam because he “has the blood of the sky people.” and ever since the sully’s arrival, he’s been following you everywhere. he would alssooo make sure to kiss you right in front of neteyam, as a little reminder for him to back off. and don’t be surprised if he leaves small bite marks right on your neck. it’s his way of telling you you’re his only<3

Tags: Neteyam x Reader, Heacanons, Fluff, Smidge Of Angst, Dating, Avatar 2, Gn!Reader, Happy Ending Because I Said So
Warnings: Major Spoiler For Avatar 2
What dating Neteyam would include.
I watched the movie last week and lord I haven’t been able to get it out of my mind. So, y’all are getting this because there is a woeful amount of content for us simps 😪👊
* ˚ ✦ Read below the cut
Tumblr media Tumblr media
╭┈─────── ೄྀ࿐ ˊˎ-╰┈➤ ❝ [25/12/22] ❞
He is an extremely kind and patient boyfriend.
He will never pressure you into anything you don’t want to do, and is extremely responsible.
He doesn’t mind whatever pace you want to take in your relationship. He’s always willing to do things your way if it makes you happy.
He’s such a selfless person that he forgets to take care of himself sometimes, so having you around really grounds him 😭
When he’s looking after everyone else, who’s going to look after him?
You, obviously 🙄🤞
Sometimes, Neteyam feels really pressured as the golden child of the family.
For him, it’s difficult to make mistakes because he’s not supposed to.
When he has to protect others around him, he feels ashamed if he fails at his duty to do so
This makes him feel a bit emotionally neglected because it’s hard to keep up the good, older brother act when he’s struggling himself too
That’s why with you, he can feel so open and vulnerable.
If he makes mistakes or slips up, you validate his feelings and tell him that it’s okay. He doesn’t need to perform around you
Loves taking you on Ikran rides!
Them Sully genes are strong man. Of course he would
Always wants to impress you with dates that makes your heart swell
Between the both of you, Neteyam is really confident and definitely the more dominant one in your relationship.
That means he’s the big spoon, fairly protective, and is usually the one taking the lead in the relationship (e.g. initiates cuddles, kisses, etc.)
If anybody tries to bully you, Neteyam is quick to come to your rescue.
He’s very overprotective and would never want any harm to come to you
For example, if Aonung tried to pester or harass you, punches would definitely be getting thrown lmao
Neteyam struggles with feeling like he needs to prove himself, but you make him feel like a warrior everyday lol
He’s always so so grateful to know you’re his.
Some days, it’s really hard for Neteyam to let loose and have fun because he’s so uptight all the time and afraid of bad things happening to the people around him.
Again, he’s only really vulnerable with you, so he lets loose in private.
You treasure every moment you see that side of him where he’s playful, and forgets all about his worries when laughing with you.
Who knew that after being worried so long about the people around him, that he would forget to protect himself?
When he was on the verge of death, and your vision was blurry with tears, all you could do was hug his feeble body as he bled.
You didn’t realize he got shot, and you cursed yourself for not trying harder to protect him, when that’s all he does for you.
Thankfully, although a close call, Neteyam survived.
His near death experience brought you two closer than ever before.
He vowed to never leave you again ♥♥

Aonung nervously stared at the ground, waiting for his sister to tell him how you and Neteyam are. More interested in you tho.
He was devastated when he found out that you were wounded. He didn't even want to imagine in how much pain you must be.
The only thing he could do right now is to wait and hope that you're gonna make it.
An hour later, Tsireya sat herself beside him, which he didn't notice at first, until she put her hand on his shoulder.
He winced at the touch and looked to his sister. He knew that she would have either good or bad news.
To his surprise she smiled at him.
"You can go to them now."
Without even saying a word, Aonung stood up and ran to the tent in which you were supposed to be.
He was confused when he didn't see anyone in there, wondering if something happened in this short time he needed to get here.
He jumped when he felt a hand on his shoulder. When he turned around, he saw you, standing on your toes, with a smile on your face.
Without even thinking, he hugged you. It wasn't just a normal hug, it was like he could show you all his feelings and emotions through this without actually saying anything. His whole body trembled of relief and his heart was pounding.
When he slightly pulled back, so he could look at your face and finally say something, you kissed him. He was taken aback but soon kissed back with the same passion, grabbing the right side of your face with one hand and your back with his other, pulling you even closer . After what felt like hours, you pulled back.
You looked each other in the eyes, adrenaline pumping in your bodies and your hearts beating synchronize.
"It's good to see again.."
You watched his watery eyes, looking your face up and down, searching for any injuries.
"How's Neteyam?"
You smiled again, telling him, that your brother is fine and that he didn't have to worry anymore.
"That- that's good, yes.."
After a few seconds in which Aonung just stared at your face, he pulled you in a kiss again, this time, softer and you could feel the love he had for you.
