Seeing this eclipse was such an awesome experience!
The emotion that a total eclipse conjures can, in my opinion, only be described as awe. Totality is the difference between "Woah, that's really cool!" and "Oh my God… that's so insanely awesome and amazing!" If possible, I highly recommend seeing one in person!

On April 8th, 2024, there will be a total solar eclipse visible in parts of Canada and the United States! Below is a map from planetary.org showing the path.
If you are in the path of the eclipse, do not look directly at the sun, even while it's blocked by the moon– looking directly at the sun (at all, but especially during an eclipse) can cause severe damage to your eyes. You can get filters/eclipse glasses that meet the ISO 12312-2 international safety standard for solar viewing, or you can easily make your own pinhole camera to view it indirectly!
Sunglasses are NOT adequate protection. Do not look at the sun through a pinhole camera, binoculars, telescopes, or any other device unless that device is equipped with a solar filter meeting the international safety standard. When in doubt, protect your eyes– indirect viewing methods are safest.
