PSA: for anyone who doesn’t know/forgot, the Total Solar Eclipse is tomorrow, April 8th. here are some friendly reminders so you can stay safe and enjoy the show :)
- never look directly into the sun or moon during an eclipse as it is much brighter than the regular sun and will cause permanent eye damage.
- this is a TOTAL solar eclipse, meaning that the moon will be directly covering the sun. only during totality is the sun safe to look at. any other point in the eclipse will cause eye damage as said above.
- sunglasses are not safe sun protection. use glasses specifically for eclipses only.
- the colors BLUE and GREEN appear brighter during eclipses. if you are going to a watch party, wear these to ensure you can be seen by your family/friends if need be. colors like RED will appear darker, almost black.
- in case of a crowd crush/stampede, don’t scream along with the crowd unless you’re hurt or trapped. save your breath, protect your ribs by locking your arms in front of your chest with your fists balled up. think a boxer stance.
- ^if you have a small child, do NOT drag them along. you will lose them. pick them up and carry them.
- ^if you fall down, whatever you do, DO NOT STAY DOWN. grab ahold of anyone you can and pull yourself up, even if they try and fight you. your main goal is to get off of the ground.
- if you’re at a watch party, make sure to pinpoint all of your exits so you’re prepared to leave at anytime.
- if you or someone else hurts their eyes during the eclipse, do not rinse their eyes out or anything else. call 911 if it looks/feels severe and refrain from looking back at the sun.
- don’t go out to an eclipse gathering alone. bring someone else and stay close together.
- it might also be good to have your location on at all times, especially for my ladies out there!!
stay safe and have fun!!

The most rare, top-tier eclipse photo would be the Solar Earth Eclipse, but the Apollo 12 crew's attempt to capture it was marred by camera shake. They said it looked spectacular, though.
