Why do you Ship Chenford?
That's a great question.... I started watching the Rookie because I was a huge Castle fan, well through Season4 of Castle. Then it kind of imploded. But while Nolan and Lucy grossed me out - thank god that ended - the chemistry between EW and MO leapt off the screen and then Lucy got sassy with Tim almost immediately. I grew up in a family where teasing and sass were major indicators of affection - and I am drawn to those kinds of relationships in film and tv.
Plus I was a massive Olicity fan - and Felicity was supposed to be this itty bitty part in one episode, and the actress who played her had insane chemistry with Stephen Amell - enough so that this little blonde IT girl became the love interest of the main character. Suck it Katie Cassidy. Ahem. And that relationship between Oliver and Felicity reminds me a lot of Tim and Lucy. The guy bound by duty, who is supported by this amazingly beautiful, smart, sassy, talented female who just loves him and gives him the space to breathe and heal. The "hawke" episode is when I was in it to win it. the whole, "i'm an outlaw” situation where Lucy steals Tim's money belt was just hilarious. that's when I fell in love with Chenford and started rooting for them to get together.
I also love how organically their relationship has blossomed. which IMO means that there is a solid friendship beneath the passion and affection -they will cherish the relationship once it becomes more than friends. Just like Olicity did.

"There's that great moment in the movie when he flips his sword and then falls on his ass, that great shot. And there's a moment in the episode I did, where I go skipping down the hall, singing about how free I am — and I think Val must have sent out some kind of serendipitous spiritual arrow, because I too fell on my ass at that particular moment." _Christian Slater
