Since one old man doesn’t know how to use Instagram and is now on an Instagram ban I may as well officially announce it and stop the many rumours and stop the speculation that is going around. (He is helping me write this but he is banned from instagram for the foreseeable future).

Sebastian and I are dating and have been for several years now. Only close family members really knew about it and that’s what the two of us ultimately decided. We wanted to be able to separate our private lives with our racing so decided to keep this relationship to ourselves. Something for just the two of us to enjoy. We never wanted the media or other people to use our relationship against us when racing both in the same team and against one another. It was bad enough when nobody knew we were dating so we could only imagine what it would be like if people knew and therefore we kept it a secret. From everyone.

I’m sorry to our friends whom we have hid this from and ultimately kept apart of ourselves away from you. I’m sorry that we lied to you for those years and for the extravagant excuses that we had come up with (mainly me) since we couldn’t tell you the truth. I’m sorry that we have left you out of some of our most precious moments and memories however we will make sure that you are involved in our future ones.

This doesn’t change anything about us and never has. It’s never affected our racing and never will just like nobody else’s relationships affect their racing abilities. This shouldn’t change anything at all as we are still the same people but if you are homophobic (and therefore probably old fashioned and don’t think there should be gay drivers, or female for that matter) go and watch some other racing series with some other drivers. We don’t need your hatred here.

Anyway, now Sebastian has outed this relationship he is able to come to every race now without it being suspicious. He can officially become a WAG or HAB. (The best one too)

in MY opinion they somewhere like natural. like bunny is just so sweet and innocent and crowds aren’t really for her so in my head it was like in a grocery story or something or lando sought HER out.

she’s looking at grapes so intensely trying to decide between purple and cotton candy ones and suddenly someone’s clearing their throat and she’s apologizing for being in the way before she even looks up. then he’s saying “no, no need to apologize, actually i’m sorry to be weird but ur like super pretty and i’ll regret it for the rest of my life if i don’t ask, so can i get your number?” she looks up from where she’s moving her shopping cart and immediately recognizes him and is like. star struck but he sees the shock on her face and regrets coming on so hard and is like “okay so sorry will definitely not ask a girl for her number in a grocery store ever again sorry to bother you!” and starts walking away.

shes immediately stuttering “no! i’m sorry i just- you- you’re like- i’m sorry i just- you’re lando norris??” and he’d freeze up bc ! pretty girl knows who he is?? she froze bc she knows who she is?? he’d immediately get so confident like this is my moment theres no way i can mess this up! so he’s like “yeah, you a fan?” and she’s like “i mean, yeah, of course. i mean seb’s my favorite but you did incredible this year!” and he’d kinda deflate bc like obv he wouldn’t be her favorite its his first year so it makes sense her fav driver is a veteran world champ he could never compete with. he’d get her number and she wouldn’t get why he wants to see her constantly like as soon as he gets home he’s asking if she wants to hang out. idk what they’d do but after the first hang out she’d get home and check her phone to find a text asking him when he can see her again, even funnier if he picked her up and dropped her off bc like she gets out of his car and he immediately texts her 😭

he’d be so down bad but not wanna spook her bc he can tell she’s like sweet and innocent. just a vibe he gets from her, the way she blushes and stutters any time he flirts w her so he wouldn’t put the moves down very hard. she’s never rly gotten attention like that or didn’t notice it when guys flirted w her. she’s just oblivious to how pretty everyone thinks she is and is like well ppl are just nice! thinks that everyone out there is doted on by complete strangers like ppl are always holding doors open for her, baristas never let her pay for her coffee, she gets complimentary desserts from waiters like they just bring her a slice of pie or cake they think she’ll like and she’s like but i didn’t order this?? and lando’s the same way. he would see smth that reminds him of her and buy it without thinking to gift to her the next time he sees her. she’s confused, can’t tell if he’s flirting with her when he tells her he likes her shoes or her dress. all her friends are like “he wants to jump ur bones!” but she just doesn’t believe them bc shes baby! and then she’s over at his place one night and he kisses her for the first time while she’s mid sentence and he’d apologize and say smth cheesy like “sorry u just look so kissable rn” and she wants to beg him to do it again but her brain is short circuiting and she doesn’t know the words to ask.

hey! i’m quite new to tumblr so i have absolutely no idea how to request a fic, but i’m going to try here? i hope i’m right😭

so i had this idea for a daniel ricciardo x reader where the reader being a driver for aston martin w/ seb and close friends with many of the other drivers, especially danny ric.

during the last race before summer break, they’re like p6 and p7, but at the end of a straight, daniels brake doesn’t work and he gets closer and closer to the next turn. the reader realizes that something is wrong and that daniel doesn’t have control over his car anymore so she decides to stop his car with her’s to save his, even if that puts her in danger. in that moment she realizes that she might feel more for him than just pure friendship. the cars slither out into the gravel and crash into the wall, but nothing “bad” happens.

the reader, a bit sore and with a sprained wrist, immediately jumps out of her car to help daniel out of his, since he’s also hurt but nothing severe. as soon as they’re out, daniel just pulls her into a hug and thanks her and they don’t break away until the marshalls tell them to clear the track.

they’re brought to the hospital and ask to be room-buddies so that they’re not bored. that evening, they do a live video together in the hospital, telling the fans that they’re fine and that they will be racing again after the break.

i have no idea if this was the right way to request sth, i’m sorry if it wasn’t😂

You and Seb made your way towards the garage, chatting away as you usually did. It wasn’t fantastic weather and the sky was threatening to let rain crash down but it was holding back for now. It was the last race of the season before the summer break and you were excited for your time off.

The senior driver had taken you under his wing as soon as you joined the team so making friends with the other members of the grid was a lot easier because most of them had a strong bond with Seb.

The driver’s parade was spent goofing around with Daniel, the two of you laughing and finding every opportunity to wind up your fellow members of the grid. Your energy match was unparalleled and you were like two peas in a pod and more often than not your laughter could be heard long before you were seen. The other drivers would often exchange knowing looks when the two of you stood a little bit too close or his hands lingered on you a little too long, but the naivety was almost sweet and they didn’t want to burst your bubbles.

You weren’t really expecting to have to deal with Dan during the race, even though McLaren were struggling this season, Aston Martin were struggling even more. But as you sped around the corner, he emerged beside you from the pit lane… on hards? Weird choice, you thought. The tire had been underperforming all race.

You cursed mentally as he hit the apex first, forcing you to go around the outside but instead of heading straight on you found your car going sideways off into the gravel - the nose of Daniel’s McLaren nestled into the green of your car. You wriggled your tires and tried to get out of the trap but it wasn’t working.

“For fucks sake.” You cursed, turning off the car and removing the steering wheel and neck rest so you could get out.

Daniel’s engine was still growling as he tried to get going again but it seemed his race was as fucked as yours. Once he turned it off you pressed your hands against his halo.

“So, what the fuck?” You laughed, wanting to be mad at him but you couldn’t bring yourself to do it.

“Locked up.” He grumbled your voices muffled by your helmets, he struggled a little before pulling his steering wheel off. “Fucking tires. Sorry, didn’t mean to take you out… you okay?”

“Think so, maybe a little whiplash but nothing too bad, you?” You stepped back so he could climb out the car, assessing the damage he’d caused.

“Think I’ve done something to my wrist.” You helped him out of the car and he cradled it to his chest. “My own fault though, as long as you’re alright.”

He brought his hand up to your helmet and brushed his gloved thumb across the surface before pulling you into a one armed hug. “Would’ve been so mad at myself if I’d hurt you.”

You hummed contently. “Thankfully I’m a tough cookie.”

It was moments like this that you really felt warm and safe with Dan, even though that he was the one who had caused the incident - the way he held you made you feel so secure. The marshals insisted that the two of you went to the medical centre to be checked over, especially as Dan had complained about his wrist. The Australian convinced them that you should both ride in the medical car together, his arm staying around your shoulder.

"Are you sure you're okay, Dan?" You asked quietly, leaning into his hold, both of your helmets now off. "You're being very cuddly.”

“…just… don’t know what I would’ve done if I’d hurt you.” He mumbled, squeezing your shoulder. “You mean the world to me.”

You felt your cheeks flush. “…you don’t have to think about that, I’m okay. I promise.”

His eyes met yours and in that moment, you could swear you could hear your heartbeat in your ears. You had always had these feelings for Daniel buried deep down but moments like this always made them bubble up to the surface. He simply smiled and turned back to face the front as you pulled up outside the medical centre.

"Once they've checked us over, wanna do a little Instagram live to let the fans know we are okay?" You asked, climbing out the car.

"Yeah, sounds good."

The checks were over pretty quickly but they decided to keep you both in until the race was concluded. The fans were relived when you let them know you were both unscathed so it just left you and Dan sat on one of the beds - you swinging your legs a little.

"So, can I admit something?"

You let your eyes lift from the floor to meet his gaze. The Australian felt his heart skip a beat. "Of course."

"...I know it probably seems really cliché and forced but I just need to say it because I can't imagine and incident like that happening again and you not knowing how I feel." His voice dropped to a whisper, tattooed hand wrapping around yours. "I like you, more than I probably should do, but you're one of the only people I think about and I'd really like to take you out on a date."

You opened and closed your mouth a few times, shocked by his admission but you found yourself nodding. "I'd really like that."

He grinned and pressed a sweet kiss to your cheek. If you had known that his team putting him on the wrong tires was all it would take for him to ask you out, then you might have begged them too a long time ago.

This race you guys😭😭😭

How am I supposed to sleep tonight? I’m just so fucking happy for Lando 😭😭😭

Damn this time it was way harder to decide but here are my favorite drivers two months (holy shit, it’s been two months already?) into liking f1:

1. Alex Albon

Albono is and will (hopefully) always be my number one (not counting Seb of course lol). And he did so well this weekend! The practices were perfect and today gaining P8 back was so great!! I admit, it again was hard for me to focus on him because of what was going on at the front, but it wasn’t as hard as it was last week lol

2. Charles Leclerc

Again, nothing changed here but I’m not going to complain about that, but the race was not optimal for Ferrari. It was hard for me to cheer for them because I didn’t want them to overtake Alex lol but I’m really sad about how it turned out for them anyway.

3. Sergio Perez

This one was the hardest decision I have ever made. I wanted to put Lewis on third again, but I think I just realized that I’ve been obsessing over Checo for so long now. Honestly, I have so much to say about him, have had for weeks and I feel like it’s about time that I give him the credit he deserves.

And the race today.. Guys, my heart... Quali yesterday made me so sad and I didn’t even understand that he was out after Q1 at first and why, but then I thought about his performance last week and let myself hope. Today wasn’t as good as last week but he still killed it! I did not cheer for him as he overtook Alex and Charles obviously and I hesitated to cheer when he overtook Carlos but I can’t help to be happy for him xD

Also I somehow started shipping Chestappen. Max not being mad at Checo after last week's inchident in turn 1 right at the start launched something in me and idk, I’m kinda digging it tho lol

Honerable mentions:

Lewis. Obviously, I wanted him on third but my soft spot for Checo took over, but you cannot believe how happy I am for Lewis. As you probably all know by now, I always like to see people on the podium for their home race. This week it was not even possible for all Brits to be on the podium as there are four, but I am so happy that two of them made it 😀

Lando. Obvoiusly! After that quali and race! I couldn’t be happier for Lando. And let me tell you now that he was the third competitor for third in my ranking. I’ve been watching so much Lando content lately and I just love this guy. He is the most relatable driver on the grid and he cares so much about his fans. He’s just the best.

Carlos. Well with Lando content comes Carlando content and I love it. Also I have been developing a little soft spot for Carlos as well. I’ve liked him before but it’s stronger now 😊

Might also have to do with how Ferrari treats him lately. He deserves better and the race today must have been awful for him. This triple overtake with Checo, Alex and Charles must’ve been horrible, and I just hope he doesn’t feel too bad after this disaster of a race.

Max. Well, Chestappen.. But I gotta say, Chestappen is more of a fun thing because cute and all, but I’m still a Lestappen shipper and if I had to choose, I’d have to choose Lestappen because they make more sense. And the way he keeps saying ‘inchident’ 😭😭😭

But same tbh, I can’t even say or read ‘incident’ the right way anymore, I always say ‘inchident’.

Also, I feel like being friends with Max must be really frustrating. Like you want to be mad because he always wins everything, and you don't stand a chance, but you can't be mad because he praises you all the time and says that he had so much fun fighting you. That would drive me crazy.

Also, Max' hugs look so comfortable. I want one. And I want to touch his hair.

Daniel Ricciardo. I don’t know why I never mention him. He’s always been one of my favorites and I just feel like that’s a given and I don’t have to say it because it’s so obvious even if it isn't. Kind of like how it is with Seb.

Logan. This is more about how I noticed him more this week. He did a pretty good job this weekend and I couldn’t help but start to become a little Williams fan. The team seems to be heading in the right direction and I love that for them. Mostly for Alex but also for the rest of the team 😊

Oscar. Same with him. He did so fucking well and I love that for him.

Lance. I’ve become a fan. He is such a sweetheart and I want to give him the world.

Pierre. I feel so bad for him today. He must feel awful, and I just want to hug him 🙁

I sadly didn't have much time to check out post race stuff, because I have an exam tomorrow :(

Hello, Hello! Really big fan of your works. I'm obssessed with the YBOM series, everytime you upload an update I consumed it right away. sorry for the long message I just wanna praise you for your amazing skills

but anyway, I wanna ask whats your writing flows? like, how do you start writting your stories - especially the series one. Do you make an outline of the story until finish, do you just go with the flow or ? I'm starting to write as hobby but I'm not very consistent with it... Like how do you manage to be so consistent with writing while studying at the same time it blows my mind. again, sorry for the long ask 😭😭😭😭 im quite the yapper

first of all thank you so much for sending this, it's making me emotional. i'm glad you're enjoying YBOM <3

second i love asks like this!!!!! i'm very open and like to share my writing process and i have compiled a few examples of how my personal writing flows— and hopefully i can answer all your questions, the response is also fairly lengthy because i too am a yapper 🫡 and like the milestone name suggests there's a lot of personal lore here, anyways enjoy 👍

first how or where do i start? honestly despite me writing regularly i'm a mix of a vibe or mood writer and song titles!!! the ideas usually come early in the morning when i wake up or a thought before i go to sleep. most of the time these come to me during class hours and i write them instead whether it be in my phone or a notebook, or when i'm studying and i listen to a song and it randomly inspires me.

for the series, let's take doab since it's completed, the inspiration came from listening to the same some from patd! and it reignited something in my head and went from there

here are some original notes from drafting the series:

some things go and some things stay. the first two ideas at the start usually stay, and as the story goes i take liberties in changing the plot depending on how i think the driver or how i characterized the reader will react or respond to the situation in hand, so their decisions play a good part.

in greedy for example it was supposed to be a fwb to lovers with seb, but i scrapped the initial draft because it wasn't giving the way i envisioned. another factor is how i characterize the reader / yn because i struggle writing mean characters, and greedy was hard because i didn't want to write a mean character, i'd like to think i tried.

for my ongoing dilf series, it's definitely better because i've learned to pace myself (i definitely have not, but we're getting there)

for the case of ybom i thought of the initial plot and tbh ybom was just supposed to be a co-parenting fluff with reconciliation fic but as i wrote it, i began thinking of the reason as to why alonso and reader did what they did and we begin seeing the flesh of their characters

like the cliffhangers are on purpose, because i too have to stop and think what would be appropriate to push the plot forward, i realized that the ybom plot is all in my head

surprisingly it's shocking how i haven't forgotten about some ideas because i just write them directly and i haven't really written anything premeditated about it, except for the ending. here is the only page i wrote about ybom and it's mixed with other wips

one thing i realized while writing YBOM is to focus on a chapter at a time, but also to ensure that the small things the characters are doing will lead to a bigger picture. i have written a lot in the past and for different fandoms and even some original work, but i have never finished a single series in my name

the first series i finished writing ever was doab, and it was an epiphany for me, because i proved to myself that i could do it, and i could dedicate the amount of time i did, ever since i started writing in third grade, to have completed doab was a big feat for me

there's really only one story wherein i thought hard for the plot which is rlr, which is also why the updates are slow because this is my baby, and i have thought about this for so long, even though i'm not updating or talking about it, it's usually the one i keep making changes to

for the consistency— instead of focusing on consistently writing, my go-to is to take breaks consistently. writing to me is my break from studies and when i have time i usually write in my notes, a lot of the written parts in doab and ybom are written while waiting for the teachers, and in between lab work

also reading! when i'm in a slump i usually read other fics here, atm i'm reading: let me be your lighter @/nostappen and pancakes @/saintescuderia at idk if it's good to read when you're in a writing slump but i get inspired reading and think about what i will write next when i get the time.

being patient to yourself— some times you write a lot and some times you're barely writing and that's fine. it took me a while to learn that so now i'd like to think i'm better at managing my own expectations and choosing to stop when i no longer have the capacity to write.

and lastly to enjoy the process of it all— write what you want to write and have fun with it. not just writing but find a supportive community, i enjoy writing and sharing my silly little posts and talking to people here.

hopefully this has some semblance of understanding, and i made my point across with how i thought it would be conveyed? uhmm yeah, i hope you enjoy, this is vv lengthy actually now....

Darren fought so hard to get a partner 💀 that now he doesn't want to ruin anything (you are basically stuck with him LMAO HELP-🤡🤡). He knows too damn well you love the food he cooks, so he would cook for you almost every day give me a Darren pls. He'd cook for special occasions (such as birthday, mensiversary, graduation or/and meeting your parents) or even randomly, you know, just because he loves you so much. Speaking of parents, after eating Darren's food they'd probably tell you to marry him asap😭😭😭 no but fr they'd be speechless who wouldn't bruh

ʚ 𝗦𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 ɞ

As we could see, Seb is tall asf, so if you are shorter than him he would help you by taking things that are on high furniture. He finds it so cute when he sees you struggle while trying to reach the damn thing but failing miserably😭 But this doesn't stop him from making fun of you🤡 in fact you'll find out that most of the time, Sebastian puts the things you need higher just to see his pretty s/o trying to reach it without his help. Sometimes he would also pick you up and let you take it, then he'd let you sit on the kitchen counter and tell you how much he loves you and how cute you are in a jokingly but significant and caring way.

ʚ 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗲 ɞ

You and Regie would do late car rides almost every single night. I guess he would do this if you are studying/working too much and you are stressing yourself: he would take you to McDonald's and buy you a milkshake, then keep driving around while listening to the playlist he made for this occasions. The lights of the city lighting up your face, the wind meeting your eyes as you close them, the music hugging you and making you feel like there's only you and Regie, and last but not least, your boyfriend driving silently and looking at you sometimes to check if you are sleeping and doing good I FUCKING WANT THIS RIGHT NOW

Kane is a cutie pie, no wonder he would do something cute for you, for example, he would buy matching things for the two of you. Whenever you two hang out he wants to buy something for you sobbing rn. He already bought matching bracelets, matching hoodies and t-shirts, and necklaces. He would also buy them as a surprise/gift for you!! He'd go to you and be like "Babe I have a thing for you" while smiling as he always does im melting istg. He is the cutest.

Most people think Ryan isn't a big fan of skinship and hates it, but honestly he likes it a lot, especially kisses. In my opinion, he would kiss you, or at least try to, everywhere. His favorite places to kiss are probably your lips and your hands I WANT THIS MAN RIGHT NOW UFF He would kiss your hands when you are in public or around the members so they don't feel uncomfortable (bad that you two don't know they simp for you everytime and that they love you as a couple rip), while kisses on the lips mostly in private. You guys kiss on the lips in public too, but most of the times things get hotter and you end up making out I AM SIMPING

And last but not least, we have Justin. Our precious JP is such a lovely and kind boy, but also funny! That's why he would always propose to do something fun!! His favorite thing is Just Dance: man doesnt even care if you cant dance, he just wants to spend time with you and have fun tearing hard fr. He would also propose karaoke! You'd try to sing as better as possible, but ending up doing voices and acting like you are having a whole concert in front a huge crowd. He loves seeing you happy, so he'll do anything possible to make you smile or laugh at least once (spoiler: you'd end up smiling all the time)

I was thinking about something the other day… I feel like 22 was Charles’ last (for the time being) chance at being world champion, HEAR ME OUT. Max is probably going to be very strong for like another year, maybe two but then there’s some very strong characters in the younger side of the grid that could possibly grab the title (mainly thinking oscar ngl but also lando and maybe russell if he grows up). And ferrari has some fundamental team issues that could mess it up for him additionally. What do you think?

I should do an essay on how I see Charles' future in F1, but it's changing every four mornings at the moment. So I'd have to make some counter-arguments to my initial arguments. 🥲

However, my instinct, my feeling, call it what you will, has enormous difficulty in perceiving stability with Ferrari. And this has been the case since Fred's arrival. I think that as long as Ferrari doesn't concretely and definitively put in place guidelines on which driver to prioritize, winning with them is going to be very complicated. I'll go so far as to say it's almost impossible. We started out with a Charles driver number with the arrival of Fred, with on-track decisions that put him more in second place. The art of contradiction at Ferrari is a real poison (or rather, the art of money before talent).

We understood that Charles has a car that doesn't suit him. But external communication is a mess, because it's probably the same or worse internally. I'm going to incur the wrath of Ferrari and Charles, but I don't think Charles will win with Ferrari. It kills me to write it and to think it.

I swear I'd love to be horribly wrong, and do my best mea-culpa if it ever came to that. But I think I've come to my senses since Fred's arrival, and I see that nothing has changed, communication-wise alone. I'm also waiting to see next year's car, because Fred will have a bit more control than this year's car. But a team as messy as it is at the moment is hardly likely to win a driver's championship. We saw that last year. People will say that it was Charles' mistakes that contributed to his defeat. Lol, it was Ferrari who clearly screwed up and sabotaged their championship.

The number of great drivers who have made mistakes and yet managed to win their championships is high. I'm talking about one or two mistakes. Not fifteen either. It was simply the team's support and impeccable strategy that made the win possible.

It's all very well to harp on how F1 is a team effort by fans. But when the driver makes a mistake, it's all his fault, while his team sabotages him all season long. 🙃

Anyway, Charles isn't the problem, far from it. He has this dream which, unfortunately for me, is for the moment (and perhaps for a long time to come) unattainable. But honestly, nobody blames him, he was clearly born among the tifosi and with Ferrari right down to his fingertips. I think he also has dreams through dear members he's lost, Jules who was a Ferrari driver and his father who he told he'd signed for Ferrari. He clings to this incredible dream, but is a little blinded by it, and finds it hard to see which team could really bring him this dream of victory. On the one hand, it's beautiful, but a little... tragic at the moment, I think. I know a lot of Charles fans hate this word, with Charles. But for the moment, I can't think of any other synonyms.

Anyway, if Charles really wants to win, for me and my opinion at the moment is that he needs to look elsewhere. Seb was absolutely right in the message left on his helmet. Don't wast it. A visionary and above all, from the start and how he was treated he knew it was only a matter of time before Charles started to experience the same thing sadly.

Don't think I'm writing all this with pleasure and without feeling. I know it's his big dream, but I think I've stopped being naive this season. I hope I'm wrong about everything and even erase it all tomorrow sending that Ferrari will have finally done its job right. 😭

Anyway, first part of my essay, maybe a next one in a few weeks or even tomorrow. 😂

First, I may have already said that but I’ll repeat it thank you for all your posts; I love your blog so much 😭

So, since we've had to suffer through a lot of bullshit being spat about Charles, I thought I would ask you about happier times (and honestly any occasion to marvel at his performances must be seized imo;) ! If it's not too much of a bother, I was curious and wanted to know what were your like top 3 favorite wins of his during his f1 career and why? (I hope you haven't already answered that, if that's the case l'm sorry!)

I'm doing great I hope you are too!

You are absolutely not bothering me! What you are doing is making me choose between my children..

I genuinely can't pick a top 3 so I'll tell you what I like about each of them

Spa 2019 -> I'll always love Spa because it was his first win, he got pole by 7 tenths, there was a decent amount of teamwork (thank you Seb) and for someone who previously lost their 2 other chances of getting a first win to an engine failure and then Max (I will always be a tiny bit salty about that move) and who lost a childhood friend at the track the day before he did so incredibly well. He was under a lot of pressure and brought it home and outside of it being his first win it was also so incredibly fitting that it was him who won that day.

Monza 2019 -> Monza is probably m favourite, because Monza. He won Ferraris home race in his first year with the team, 9 years after the last win there. He fought hard for that win, sometimes a bit borderline but he was under a lot of pressure from merc (and the fans) and he brought it home. And apart from all that being super fitting it was great to see him get to actually celebrate a win the next race after not really getting to celebrate his first one. He got his first win for just himself and it was Monza.

Bahrain 2022 -> Great start into the season after a difficult time! 1-2! and a very fun battle between Max and Charles were Charles did kinda play him a bit like a fiddle. That was just a great race to watch.

Australia 2022 -> somewhat boring to watch because he was pretty much cruising on his own the entire time but! a grand chelem which is huge achievement because there are fewer drivers with a grand chelem than there are wdcs. And it gave us the "ok, but ok.." still does the fastest lap thing

Austria 2022 -> That was another pretty cathartic win after the 5 races that preceded it. He was so confident after the sprint that it honestly scared me a little. Great strategy in trusting the tyre delta to get past Max again and again. And that first overtake was such an incredible one! I could've done without the stress of the last 10 laps and his throttle but he survived and he managed it well and it was such a well deserved win.

Welcome back to Silverstone! You’re not ready for that drama believe me.

LEWIS IS ON POLE! Almost half a second ahead of Rosberg! Let's gooo! The journalist says what they saw in quali was "the Lewis of old". I like that. It speaks to me. I love him hungry and fighting.

Oh. My. God. The summary shows so much Lewis content! I'm excited!

But let's start by taking a look at the championship standings : Seb is comfortably ahead with 132 points, followed by Alonso with 96, Raikkonen with 88 and Lewis with 77. Mercedes is also currently third in the WCC.

Quali report. Jenson couldn't get into Q3, neither could Perez. Ferrari and Lotus criticized Pirelli for bringing the hard and medium tyres, saying it was too conservative. Alonso barely made it into Q3, while Massa couldn't. Raikkonen was outqualified by Grosjean. Di Resta was 5th but he got disqualified for… brace yourself… an underweight car. Yep. Underweight. Seb is ahead of Webber. Lewis was unhappy with the balance of the car in FPs but he still took pole position.

Lewis is with Martin Brundle, in the paddock, surrounded by fans, to talk about the pole lap. He says they have the best fans there in the UK, of course. He's very proud that he got the pole for them. Oh he says the pit straight is bumpy so the car is bottoming. Very foreshadowing lol. He's explaining his lap I understand about 5% of what he's talking about but he's loving it so I'm loving it. He has a stuffy nose. Brundle says he must have known immediately– but Lewis cuts him off : no, you never do, because Nico has been particularly quick. He didn't even look at the dashboard, and then a couple of turns later he was told Seb had crossed the line and he was on pole. Brundle asks if he can try to make these people happy (and gestures to the small crowd around them) at the end of the race. Lewis says he'll try his best.

OHhh Webber has announced his retirement I guess?

Oh. My. God. They did a British quiz with all the British drivers so Lewis, Jenson, Max Chilton and Paul Di Resta. (also Johnny and Anthony). Lewis is eating a lollipop 😭

Jenson is CHEATING massively and even admits it.

So round 1 was British questions, I guess. Round 2 is F1 related question. First off they have a composite image of 5 drivers and they have to find out who they are. Lewis is remarkably good at it, but he might also have cheated. He finds 4 out of 5 of them quickly.

Then they have to guess who are the blacked out people on podium pictures. Round 3. One person in each team (Johnny and Anthony) are blindfolded and have to guess what they are eating. First was fig, it's alright. But the second one is pickled onion and they're not too happy about it, though the four drivers are having the time of their life. Third is mustard. Four is something called gherkin (? I guess it’s just pickles in British English). Then anchovy paste. I mean it's just torture at this point and they're all giggling like school kids. Lewis’ team wins 11 to 7. He receives a toy bone for Roscoe!

During the drivers' parade Lewis talks again about the fans and how many came and bla bla bla.

He says it's surreal and the support means everything to them. It'll be hard to keep the Redbulls behind but they'll do everything they can.

The grid walk is lasting ages, can we race please?

Alright, here we go.

Formation lap

They're racing!

Amazing start for Lewis while Seb overtakes Nico. Massa also had an unbelievable start, he's up 6 places! Lewis sets the fastest lap, but he's only 1.2 seconds ahead of Seb. This is not going to be easy.

Ohhh fuck.

Lewis has a puncture. Like a serious completely-destroyed-tyre-puncture. I at least hope he can go back out once he gets to the pit but that's a long way to go, there might be further damage at this point. Damn it was so sudden and the tyre disintegrated for some reason… loads of tyre debris on the track. Lewis is sent out again. He's dead last, of course. We're on lap 10.

Same for Massa??? Same tyre. He spun. But he's driving back to the pits as well. Alonso and Webber pit, they might be expecting a Safety Car but it doesn't come. Green flags all around again. Brundle says Massa has more damage than Lewis but he's also sent out. Rosberg pits from P2. Lewis is up in 18th already. Seb is called in. He's still in the lead and Rosberg is still P2.

AND ANOTHER ONE?! It's JEV this time. Same tyre, same damage! Honestly wtf Pirelli? This race should be red flagged, it's dangerous af. What is happening. Raikkonen almost received a huge piece of tyre in the head. Yes, they're sending the Safety Car out. There's so much debris on the track. The drivers are told to keep off the kerbs. Lewis is P14 now. Lap 20.

The Safety Car comes in. There's a four way battle between Sutil, Alonso, Raikkonen and Grosjean for P3. No DRS at the moment but they're all under a second from each other. Lewis is attacking Gutierrez for P13. It's done. Everything is close. Lewis is now P12. It's lap 30.

Alonso pits. Grosjean pits. Lewis is P9. P8. He's now attacking Di Resta who gets called in anyway and Raikkonen is just behind him as well. He gets overtaken. By Alonso as well? Well they do have fresh tyres I believe. At least fresher than his. Force India double stack their drivers. Rosberg pits from P2, he's out in P2. Seb pits from the lead in answer. He's still ahead. Webber overtakes Alonso for P4. JEV retires. Lewis pits, he's out in 11th, and gets immediately overtaken by Di Resta. But he doesn't give up and attacks back. It doesn't work. Lewis gets the DRS. It's very close. Lewis gets ahead!

Lap 41, Lewis up in P10. Oh! HO! SEB SLOWED DOWN, ROSBERG IS IN THE LEAD. "Lost drive, lost the gearbox". It's over for him. Safety car is out, he's stopped in the pit straight, they can't get him there. 10 laps to go. Rosberg pits. Webber pits. 9 laps to go. 8 laps to go. Rosberg is told they think one of his tyre is starting to delaminate? But he just pitted. Or was that from before his stop? The lapped cars are unlapping themselves. 7 laps to go. Here they go again. 6 laps to go. P8. ANOTHER TYRE FAILURE HOLY SHIT. It's a McLaren. Perez. 5 laps to go. Yellow flags. P7. Perez is out, there's too much damage to the floor. Alonso overtakes Ricciardo for P5 but here comes Lewis and he's up in P6! 4 laps to go. Webber overtakes Raikkonen for P2. Alonso overtakes Sutil for P4, Lewis is half a second behind… 3 laps to go. And Lewis is up in P5! 2 laps to go. Alonso overtakes Raikkonen for the podium. LEWIS IN P4! Final lap! He's just half a second behind Alonso but that's a lot to ask.

It's the end of the race!

Rosberg wins ahead of Webber and Alonso. Lewis went from P1 to P22 to P4, what a recovery. And these exploding tyres are seriously concerning.

We hear from Paul Hembry, the Pirelli motorsport director. They are currently analysing the tyres to understand what happened and get the facts. They'll let people know when they have the answers. The journalists ask further questions but he basically just says they can't answer until they're done with the analysis.

Alright let's hear from Lewis.

Natalie Pinkham asks if it's similar to losing a tyre on a highway. He says it's just as dangerous, if not more. (His body language is very low energy). He says it's very unfortunate, the fans have been great, it looked like they were on their way to a win, the car was great… but big congratulations to Nico and the team. He's just glad he was able to catch up and get some points. Yeah lol thanks Natalie, I was about to write that going from 22 to 4 wasn't just "catching up" and so she says, and then asks if it's not rather spectacular finishing where he finished after what happened. Definitely, he agrees. Back there he doubted he could get any point at all, so he's very grateful for the result and he's looking forward to the next race because given how well the car was performing, they have more chances of winning.

She asks about the testing they did with Pirelli and how the argument in defense of it was that it was to work on the tyres, "clearly more work needs to be done". He looks down and hums. He looks up and smiles. He's uncomfortable, clearly he's been instructed about this topic. "Yeah… I don't know really what to say!" he chuckles.

He's just gonna bite his tongue and hold it in, he says with a wide smile, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.

"But does it concern you in terms of safety?" she asks in a softer tone. "Yep." He nods. "Big time, but um…"

He looks serious."They need to do something."

We hear his radio at the end of the race. Brawn congratulates him for a wonderful drive and says he's sorry it didn't work out. He says "fantastic job this weekend guys, it's a shame about the tyre."

He’s an absolute sweetheart. He’ll dedicate time to fans even if he’s working, he supports so many charities that he actively promotes. The love he shows his friends is just incredible heartwarming, and nothing makes me happier than to see they feel the same about him. Every one who works with him LOVES him, and rightly so. Whether it be all the directors, his costars, or even the crew. Because he puts time and effort into listening, being generous with his time (and money), and just being kind.🥰🥰🥰

And even if he cannot take a compliment without ducking or hiding his face, laughing it off and blushing like a schoolgirl, he gives out compliments and love like no one else. He’ll always praise everyone around him before even thinking about the hard work he himself put into anything.

And on top of that, he’s just the weirdest little weirdo, and he has no shame in it 😂. He’s just unapologetically himself, and it makes me love him even more. Whether it’s dancing with a kitchen knife to get a role, or dancing like a lunatic and hitting his head, or sharing all the ways he’s gotten injured because he’s a clumsy little baby 😂Or the faces he pulls or the things he does to be dramatic. This man is a walking me-me, and proud of it, and I couldn’t love him more. 💛💛💛💛

F1 Re-Watch 2013: Round 11 - Belgium

The section of the season watch through I've been most looking forward to, Seb's nine consecutive race wins. At the time as a returning fan it didn't really sink in how much of a big deal it was at the time... I was just happy to see Seb win 😅

I believe this is going to be a Sewis podium too so a very nice added bonus!

It feels wild that Alonso and Raikkonen were still genuine title contenders at this point... then brat Seb showed up and said fuck your title hopes

Listen when Seb wins 9 races in a row it's sexy and never been done before, when Verstappen does it I hate it. I know I'm very biased.

ANYWAY, starting grid: Lewis pole and Seb P2 🥰, Jenson P6!!!! Hell yeah!!!! ...Jev P18 and Dan P19 😭 starting grid whiplash returneth

ah so it was a wet/dry quali which explains stuff a bit

Tyres were mediums and hards for this race

[Formation Lap]: The traditional mad dash of mechanics to get back to the garages (let's go lesbians let's go!)

"There's a McLaren with some very hot rear brakes" don't (it's Jenson's car)

[Start/Lap 1]: Lewis hold the lead at the start!

JENSON'S UP TO 4TH!!! STOP THE COUNT!!!!!

nevermind SEB TAKES THE LEAD!!!!!!!!!

Jenson tries to go round the outside of Rosberg but it doesn't stick

holy shit what a sequence of corners

[Lap 2]: And Seb already has a 1.4 second lead, #JustSebThings

Alonso tried to get past Jenson but doesn't have the speed

and the Lotuses have done the old switcheroo

Top 5 is: Seb, Lewis, Rosberg, Jenson and Alonso

[Lap 3]: Seb's lead up to 2.9 seconds 🏃‍♂️💨

"Just save your tyres" Rocky already telling Seb to slow down a bit

[Lap 4]: Oh the sight of Jenson running a race in P4, I have missed it so 😭😭😭

it was nice while it lasted

also more than a few cars had lock ups into La Source

[Lap 5]: while the start was replaying Webber got past Jenson for 5th

and yet another overtake happing right before Les Combs

[Lap 6]: And Alonso is into P3, also getting past Rosberg into Les Combs

Ted thinking Red Bull might try the one stop, since it's only a couple of seconds faster than the two stop

(I legit find a lot of this stuff fascinating I could listen to a whole TED Talk about it)

[Lap 7]: No I'm still not used to hearing GP over a Force India Team Radio

and an update on Sewis watch: Seb's lead is now just over 4 seconds

eesh lots of break dust coming off Raikkonen's car

that does not spark joy, it brings nerves

[Lap 9]: Webber and Rosberg having fisticuffs over 4th

and Raikkonen with his potentially dodgy brakes is up into 8th

Frankly if I saw a car leaking break dust at every corner, I'd give it a black and orange flag. RIP to the FIA but I'm different (and have braincells)

Seb passing 2000 laps leading a race 🥹 that's my boy!!!!!

[Lap 10]: Massa and Hulkenberg make their first stops

Seb's lead over Lewis holding at 4 and a bit seconds

[Lap 11]: Jev also makes his first stop

Perez getting a pen for supposedly forcing Grosjean off the track... you know when Crofty and Brundle say it's bs that it's bs

[Lap 12]: anyway, Lewis makes his first stop for another set of mediums

[Lap 13]: Rosberg also makes his first stop

[Lap 14]: Alonso and Webber make their pit stops

Cut to a very nervous Anthony Hamilton at the back of the Merc garage

and Seb makes his first stop, he's on the mediums so will have to two stop

[Lap 15]: He comes out in P2

*deep breath* JENSON IS IN THE LEAD!!! STOP! THE! RACE!!!!

Making a mental note to watch some Jenson/Lewis/Seb podium races. The ultimate dream podium for annoying people (me).

And Seb takes the lead just before the bus stop chicane

[Lap 16]: "It's all just playing beautifully into the hands of Sebastian Vettel" Inject it into my veins!!!

And another overtake into Les Combs, with Rosberg passing Grosjean for 5th

Jenson is yet to stop, hence his high track placing, the 2013 McLaren was sadly not that good 😭

[Lap 17]: and a Seb fastest lap for F1 bingo

Raikkonen has stopped, unclear if his brakes are still leaking break dust

[Lap 18]: And Jenson finally makes his first stop, interestingly onto the hards

So he could one-stop, it would depend on tyre life as to whether or not he makes it work

good grief cars briefly going three wide before going into single file up Eau Rouge, will people please THINK OF MY NERVES

[Lap 19]: Top 5 is currently: Seb, Alonso, Lewis, Rosberg and Webber

Oh, Force India on Sauber fisticuffs

[Lap 20]: Seb sighting!!! Man I miss the old glossy RBR livery

He's also 7.8 seconds ahead of Alonso

"What have Ferrari or Mercedes got to throw at him? [Seb]" Nothing. Let him cook.

[Lap 21]: Oh god there was more tyre failure during the build up to the race apparently. Please no I'm not strong enough.

Rosberg and Webber continue to scrap over 4th

[Lap 22]: and just like that we're at half-race distance!

Replay of Jenson getting past Grosjean (who's yet to stop) for 6th

[Lap 23]: and as I type that in pits Grosjean 😅

[Lap 25]: lol I got too enthralled in just watching the cars go round, but right after Ted said he'd told by Lotus that Raikkonen's brakes were now fine, he retires with a brake failure. Talk about commentator's curse

[Lap 27]: And in comes Lewis for his second stop, he takes on the hard tyres so will be good to the end

[Lap 28]: A FOUR CAR FIGHT INTO THE BUS STOP??????

welp, and out goes Di Resta. Someone punted into him, absolutely no idea who

we went from midfield spice to midfield violence in 0.2 seconds.

[Lap 29]: Alonso makes his second stop under the yellow flag

Jenson's in 4th!!!

[Lap 30]: Webber makes his second stop

You know an incident was messy when it only comes up with the corner it happened on screen as opposed to the drivers in volved 😳

Also it is so wild hearing Andrea Stella over Fernando's team radio when he's McLaren Team Principle now, oh what is the passage of time

[Lap 31]: Anyhow, in comes Seb for his final stop, he had a big enough gap that he retained the lead

"If Button's tyres don't fall off the cliff, will he get McLaren's first podium of the year?" Being a Jenson fan from 2013 onwards was rough 😭

[Lap 32]: But he is in third for now, with Lewis being the first car behind

and cut to Jenson's on board!

and *this* is how you do a chrome silver livery, iconic af

"We think we can go back to Plan A?" so a one stop I'm guessing

[Lap 33]: But there's Lewis getting rather close in 4th, gap currently two and a half seconds

Current top 5 is: Seb, Fernando, Jenson, Lewis and Rosberg

[Lap 35]: And there go McLaren's podium hopes, Jenson makes a second stop for a set of mediums, he comes out in 6th

I keep on getting enthralled by the cars just going around the track they're all very pretty

Might also be because it's currently after quarter past 11 at night as I type this

ahhh Seb's 31st win, in which he matched Nigel Mansell on the all time win record 🥹😭 and once Fernando congratulated him he went over to say well done to Lewis, I'm fine 😭

Apart from a couple of flash points, the race didn't feel super eventful. Honestly it felt like I was watching a Free Practice session at times, it had those vibes 😅
