Why are people in this fandom so damn obsessed with making carlos love tk more than tk loves him. The way some of you write tk's love and feelings for carlos is so childish and shallow compared to carlos's. They love each other the same amount so why are you trying to change that by making it appear that one love the other more?
Good morning. This is interesting feedback nonny, I appreciate it.
I don’t perceive one of them to love the other more and that’s not my intention in writing Tarlos. I’m sorry my fiction reads that way to you.
My most recent story is not fully posted so I know you don’t have the full picture if you’ve read it, but I’ll assume that’s what sparked the ask. My goal was to create Chapter 1 with more predominant feelings from TK, Chapter 2 from more of Carlos’ pov and then the final two chapters with equal amounts of love and feelings portrayed by each of them. I won’t go back and try to count or anything, but I may reread 3 & 4 through this lens and see if I’ve missed the mark.
As for TK’s love portrayal as shallow and childish, hmm. I can’t speak for anyone else but in my writing that may be because I’m relatively new at this. Now I’m kind of excited to dive into my WIPs with the challenge to write him with more nuance.
I hope you’ll stick with me as I strive to improve and let me know if you see more balance in the future. I’m not sure if this was meant as constructive feedback, but I’m taking it that way and I’m grateful. 💛

Do you have any wedding buntyforth headcanons?
The first question that needs to be asked is…would it be small?? Would it really?? One part of me imagines it being HUGE, and another part of me is like no way. I feel as though Bunty wants it to be big…but Abe is too uncomfortable for that. (I know how this reads if your mind is in the sewer but that’s the point 😂 ) I don’t think he would want a big wedding but he wouldn’t want to disappoint Bunty. The truth is Bunty probably would just want a small bunch of friends and family there.
Aberforth is a sweaty mess ALL DAY of the wedding. He’s agitated and he swears that his tie is crooked no matter how many times he casts a spell on it.
Albus is his best man (thanks to Bunty) and he keeps trying to convince his brother that everything is alright and that he looks fine. The more Albus talks, the more Aberforth gets sweaty and convinced everything is going wrong.
Eventually someone gets Bunty and she closes her eyes to come see him. Aberforth closes his eyes and tries his best to act like everything is ok.
Bunty: I thought the bride is suppose to be the one to go mad on the day of?
Aberforth explains that he just wanted everything to be perfect for her because that’s what she deserves. He doesn’t anyone or anything, especially himself to ruin it for her. Bunty just smiles at that thought.
After she assures him that he could do no wrong, he starts to breath again. They interlock fingers for one second before parting again. Aberforth quickly after goes to find Albus to continue the wedding.
They have an outdoor wedding and Newt is the man of honor with Pickett as ring bearer.
Albus gave Aberforth their parent’s old rings since he figured he would never get a chance to use them like he dreamed. Abe knew how much the rings meant to Albus so he took them with much appreciation.
Aberforth absolutely shed a tear when Bunty came down the aisle.
Bunty had memorized her vows and they made Aberforth cry even more than he was trying to, because he knew Bunty meant every beautiful word she said. Aberforth had his vows written down so that he wouldn’t forget to mention anything. They were shorter than hers but sweet. His vows managed to make Newt and Albus cry silently in the back.
Bunty gets a chance to dance with Jacob, Theseus, Newt, and Albus. Aberforth dances with Lally, Queenie, and Tina. It’s some of the most fun everyone has had in a while.
Abe and Albus had a chance to talk after while Bunty was dancing with Newt. Abe explained how he knew how much the rings meant to him and it was the first time he thanked his brother in years. Albus was just glad that his family still got a chance at happiness and he was able to be apart of it.
The food served is a combination of Aberforth’ special recipe and Kowalski baked goods. The cake was done by Jacob too and Queenie enchanted it to have little edible fondant beasts running around on the multiple tiers that leave little footprints in the frosting.
Aberforth marks this day as one of his happiest in his entire life and tries his best to capture and remember every instance. Especially the way that Bunty looks at every moment.
Bunty pulls Abe over at one point in the night to tell him that the day had been better than she ever imagined. Abe just laid his head on her shoulder while she scratched the hair on the back of his neck, watching their friends giggle, laugh, and dance.

People liking your personal OCs is still such a crazy feeling, I've been doing this for years and ppl asking about them still fills my entire heart with warmth and idk how to handle it
You enjoy this fictional guy I made up for fun?? Whose only content is random artwork or writing made by me and a handful of other artists at most? They have no show/book/game with a large fandom, it's just one person with an art blog?? I love u

I think there's something that needs to be said about encouraging readers to leave feedback.
For me it's not about "tell me my writing is amazing and stroke my ego"
It's more about "please engage with me so that I can experience your joy secondhand and foster a connection with you"
I understand that not everyone wants this in their reading experience, some people are shy and a million other reasons why maybe someone wouldn't want to engage and that's perfectly fine!
But what I'm trying to steer away from is being a passive content creator with passive consumers. What I want to steer toward is fostering a community that is essential to fandom. I want to see your reactions because it makes me feel like I'm a part of something.
On encouraging reblogs —
I understand that not everyone is comfortable reblogging, especially explicit content. This is ok!
But just consider that the only reason you were able to enjoy a fic or fanart is because someone else shared it, and by not sharing it yourself you are potentially robbing someone else of the opportunity to enjoy it as much as you did.
As OPs our reach only goes so far and this website relies on reblogs in order for anything to truly get seen by a wider audience.
So that's really it! That's why I encourage these two things at the end of every story I post. Not because I'm trying to be demanding and "make people feel bad" if they don't do it.
I know most other social media sites encourage mindless content consumption and that's just the way of the world nowadays, but I am from a time when community was at the heart of fandom and I just don't want to lose that.

HC that Queenie is the one to gift Bunty something on the spicy side as a wedding gift, like a silk/lace babydoll. Luckily she tells Bunty to open it when she’s alone. I can only imagine Bunty’s reaction to the whole thing (and Aberforth’s as well haha)
Tina: My sister is really great with gifts, for obvious reasons. I’m sure it’ll blow away all your expectations!
Bunty: Oh, that sounds exciting!
*Later*
Aberforth: Who’s this one from?
Bunty: I believe that one is either from Newt or Queenie, they both have similar boxes. There’s a knickknacks pile on the right and cutlery on the left.
Aberforth: Well…I would hope this didn’t come from Newt…
Bunty: Why not?
Aberforth: Is there a silk pile?
Bunty: A WHAT?
Aberforth: *smirking and turning to show her the gift*
Bunty: *facepalming* Queenie…
Aberforth: We’ll maybe having a legilimens around isn’t so bad after all.

How to Handle Critique
I’ve got to admit, I wish I was one of those beatific saints that could take critique with a grateful smile. Instead, I am constantly suppressing a horrible little gremlin at the back of my head hissing at anything from legit plot critiques to grammar corrections. I’m well aware I used that comma wrong, GOD.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m very good at suppressing that gremlin, but the little bastard is still there. He exists because even though your brain knows critique can help, it also knows you worked damn hard on the thing being critiqued, and goddamnit, isn’t that enough???
Anyway, here are some tips on getting that gremlin to shut the hell up.
It is okay to be upset. You worked really hard on this thing, and now someone’s gone and pointed out all the things that suck about it. You cannot control how you feel about one thing or another, but you can allow yourself to feel that way and let it pass through you. Let your critique partner you’re taking time to reflect on it, and go for a walk. Do something else. Let those feelings pass through you before you get back to the page.
Give yourself time. Don’t feel like you need to correct things right away (unless they are minimal grammar tweaks). Some pieces of feedback might take awhile to sink in, especially when you’ve got a whole novel to wrestle through. Set it aside, think about something else for a week or so, and get back to it when you’ve reset.
Get a second opinion and/or ducky friend. It can be very hard to tell the difference between good and bad feedback sometimes. Someone who means very well could give feedback that just doesn’t work for you, and someone who doesn’t give two shits could have spotted that fatal flaw right away. You can bring in a real third party or just make use of the old rubber duck technique, where you talk through the issue with a friend or a Naruto poster telling you to Believe it. Working it out out-loud is a really effective technique to figure out what needs fixing and what doesn’t.
Guide critique-givers toward the feedback you want. I, a person who prefers straightforward fantasy and sci-fi, cannot give the fine-tooth points on how a romance novel should work. However, I can give feedback on what works for me and what doesn’t story-wise. Giving your beta reader or critique partner a list of questions to look for will help avoid vague feedback based on how they don’t like the genre. There are many ways to do this, but consider using the following as a base to tailor your own questions:
Did you get a good sense of the setting? Did the worldbuilding make sense to you?
Was this story clear? Where there any parts that seemed confusing?
What characters did you like and why? What characters didn’t you like?
Did any parts of the story feel slow or repetitive?
Did the beginning draw you in? Did the middle keep you engaged? Did the ending feel satisfying?
If you were to write [insert plot point here], what would you do differently?
Again, all of the above questions are up for debate depending on your goal, but we are rarely taught how to give good feedback, and a guided feedback session would work better for you than a free-for-all.
Figure out what kind of advice doesn’t work for you. It is really hard to give good feedback sometimes, even with guided questions. It can also be really hard to figure out why some feedback doesn’t click with you, and that’s a matter of digging deep to figure out what you really want. You may lean toward characters who are horrible fuck-ups, but your partner prefers more steady characters who always strive to do the right thing. Your characters, therefore, may never click with this person, no matter how much they want to help you. And that’s okay! Figuring out where your critique partner is coming from can help you figure out what parts of their feedback isn’t working for you. Sometimes the only thing you can do is thank them and move on, but you might also want to guide them to focus more on the plot or the worldbuilding when looking at your work.
And last, don’t focus on grammar. It’s great if they point that out, but if you end up changing everything, trying to fix that first is a waste of your time. Grammar tweaks last, plot points first.
And, I dunno, give yourself a treat to get that horrible little mind gremlin something else to focus on. Sometimes patting those bad feelings on the head and sending them away can help way more than ignoring them.
