Just thinking of this line in the context of all the moments Rangi yells at Kyoshi throughout the novels. I can't help believing there is a part of Kyoshi, in the back of her mind, just knowing that even though Rangi is mad, at least she is still worthy of her anger.

It also makes the moment in Shadow of Kyoshi where Rangi says "I am nothing to you. Do you hear me, Avatar Kyoshi? Nothing." so so much worse because she doesn't shout, she doesn't yell, she speaks. (Although it also makes the next moment where she yells about Kyoshi not having eaten that much sweeter.) Because Kyoshi knows, not just from the fact that Rangi calls her Avatar Kyoshi, but also from the fact that she doesn't yell that she has really really hurt Rangi. And Kyoshi know from the fact that Rangi shouts and tries to feed her after, that she still loves her.

every time I see a "Rangi is Azula's clone" I wanna choke.

Rangi is what you'd probably expect of a good Fire Nation citizen: loyal, competent, honorable, and a good firebender (definitely a requirement if you're a firebender). and Azula is a good Fire Nation citizen (she's basically a poster child Fire Nation soldier).

Rangi's not the one who's these things and is also roughless. will do fucked up shit if she has to do fucked up shit. will kill people if needed, doesn't need to want to, but will kill if needed – will kill to get what she wants.
