yk that part in one last stop where Jane tells August that you don't have to know who you are, and you can think of yourself as negative space and fill the world around you with the things and the people you care about? it's so reassuring for all of us confused teenagers who are expected to have their shit together and are under whatever pressures from those around them.

and from a plot context, this means so much more coming from Jane because she literally talks from experience and has the energy of Someone Wise And Worldly even though more often than not she does resemble a golden retriever heh

"Like-okay, I dated this girl who was an artist right? And she'd do figure drawing where she'd draw the negative space around a person first, and then fill in the person. And that's how I'm trying to look at it. Maybe I don't know what fills it in yet, but I can look at the space around where I sit in the world, what creates that shape, and I can care about what it's made of, if it's good, if it hurts anyone, it makes people happy, if it makes me happy. Nimona – Ballister Blackheart was once a noble knight, but after being faced with prejudice from the institution, he becomes an anti-hero. Soon, a shapeshifter appears on his doorstep, Nimona, and offers to become his side-kick and help him in all his evil deeds against the institution. Ballister has a friend turned nemesis, Sir Ambrosius Goldenloin (who in the movie adaptation they are confirmed to be in a romantic relationship with each other) whom works for the institution and the evil director.

Cemetery Boys – When Yadriel tries summoning the ghost of his murdered cousin to set it free, with his cousin and best friend, he accidentally summons the school bad boy, Julian. Julian is not going to die without a fight and the two of them team up so that they can get what they want. The more time the two spend with each other, the less Julian wants to go back to the land of the dead.

One Last Stop – August moves to NYC to escape her mother trying to solve the case of her missing brother (August’s uncle), finding an apartment with so many friendly people. On her subway commute, she notices a girl who rocks a vintage 70s outfit and starts to feel things for her. Jane. After a few conversations during her commute on the Q train (which Jane seems to always be on), she realises that Jane is literally from the 1970s, taken out of time. August’s life is filled with mysteries all over again, but this time she’s invested.

nobody loves ols m o r e than me alright but hear me out- Jane remembered Augie through his knife right??? but how would Jane and August both have known his knife? for Jane to recognize the knife, it should've been after he ran away from home and left Suzette behind, at which point all the letters were being intercepted anyway so it's not like he s e n t his sister a knife?? or he couldn't have given it to suzette directly bc he never went back home. but August said her mom said it belonged to Augie and it's passed down from him?????. am i missing smth here????? if i see another artist draw august skinny i will lose it. please for the love of god, let us fat people have charaters to relate to! charaters hat aren't used as the butt of the joke or backround characters. let us have hot, sexy, badass fat main charaters that are portrayed as desirable! please draw august the way she was described, it sucks that it's already so rare in famous books but it hurts even more if the (fan)artists take it away from us!

The Binding – In Emmett’s world, books aren’t just fantasy, they’re reality. Book binders take people’s memories and place them inside books, stealing these memories forever. A small, local book binder summons Emmett as an apprentice after he recovers from an illness brought on by trauma. He starts as an apprentice and slowly recovers and is only forbidden from entering the library, where all the books are kept. But one day, a man named Lucian Darnay arrives to see Emmett’s master, but upon seeing Emmett, he recognises the man instantly.
