idk if this is still the case but when i was really In It in animorphs feelings a couple years ago because i was unemployed for the first time in my adult life / temporarily living alone in the last house my family lived in / freaking out about climate change / generally Going Through It, and like poking around the animorphs scene on tumblr, there was this notion commonly expressed that rachel and tobias were "toxic," the major piece of evidence for which was the scene in 33 where she "tries to trap him in human morph." which like first of all i'm SOOOOOO SORRRY that the fucking fifteen-year-olds secretly fighting a guerrilla war in which their greatest threat is the mind-controlling slugs they're trying to save humanity from but their second greatest threat is the diminishing hourglass of their collective sanity as they all have to work steadily harder and more desperately to not just completely lose their shit entirely from all the violence and literal 24/7 constant threat and murder that is happening, like i'm sorry two literal children who have managed in this ongoing horror show to forge a bond of loyalty and affection and care and attraction and understanding that can act as a kind of solace neither of them have any other way to access, sorry those actual murder babies sometimes have some communication problems. lmao. but also it's insane to me that people read that scene (in which they're dancing to, i'm not making this up, iris by the goo goo dolls - i mean they don't tell us the song but it's a slow goo goo dolls number that even tobias knows, so - they're dancing to iris by the goo goo dolls at a school dance that is not going well because they are both awkward about the newfound public Officialness of their relationship and rachel who is the only one of them who has ever been capable of socializing like a normal person is in a particularly bad mood because of the emotional hangover of her starfish adventure [great concept executed terribly in the previous book], and then like after two entire minutes of letting himself feel some nice emotions tobias spots the clock and starts leaving to go demorph and then rachel runs after to him to awkwardly attempt to share that she is very fucked up about how insane she has become and she wants to hold on to things like school dances and also this is all happening in a hallway by a student poster on red tailed hawks that states their lifespan of a handful of years in the wild, it's so good) as rachel trying to trap tobias in morph, when like, first of all, "good thing happening -> time to punish myself for feeling nice for 5 whole seconds " is like THEE tobias thought pattern because he's the number one kidlit trauma baby of all time, like truly the first time i dove back into the series i was struck by how well his narrative voice captures Child Of Insane Family Dysfunctionality, he is NOT a reliable narrator on this, but also second, and more saliently, like, believing this scene is rachel attempting to trap tobias in morph requires that you believe rachel, all by herself, made a plan in advance and then attempted to execute it, which is a skill we literally never see her demonstrate even one fucking time outside of the comfortingly familiar hunting ground of the mall

as for your question, i don't have super structured thoughts i guess (i usually tend to shape my headcanons whenever i use them for fic lol) but bc of lysandre's legacy i feel like not being a cis man would have put a lot of pressure on him when he was younger (couldn't be a proper heir........)

he also (perhaps in part as a consequence of that) definitely strikes me as someone who would have been insufferable toward other trans people as he was figuring himself out lmao, you know he would be scrutinizing whether they were trans enough for his standards until he got settled into transitioning and stopped being such an ass about it. i guess i do touch on that a bit in baton pass, in that he doesn't rly seek the company of other trans people. i don't think he would be like. a trans-to-cis type necessarily but probably not the type to advertize it openly unless he had a reason to

I have an ongoing Fanfiction where they are the main couple and I am probably the biggest shipper of these two that I know of. Rarepair but they mean a lot to me in the specific context they have in the story I am writing. In any other interpretation it can definitely depend because Volorei is something a lot of people like to do in ways I can't get behind.

I tend to stick to just making my own Volorei content and just enjoying that but my friends also have started making content for them at times because they love me and like to see me lose my mind. I love them for it, y'all know who you are 😂

They should yell at each other and then kiss about it. They should date in secret. They should be messy and lovestruck and it should affect the clan relations in ways they must deal with together.

Adaman x Rei - If I had to ship Rei with anyone who wasn't Volo it would absolutely be Adaman. I'd probably be cool with writing fanfic about them in the future but seeing as the next billion years will be taken up by writing Volorei in ACD it's too soon to say if that will happen.

Dawn x Irida - One of my friends ships this and has inducted me into the cult. Not something I would have thought of on my own but it's cute and if you've been following me I'm sure you've seen my art of it 😂 I prefer considering this interpretation as one of Dawn in the place of Akari bc Akari is aro ace to me.

Adaman x Melli - A ship full of any number of potentially hilarious situations. I actually really like it and I feel like there are actually some things that could be interpreted as canon feelings on Melli's end and I feel like that would be interesting to explore. Good luck Melli, go get your man!

Ginter x Tuli: THEY ARE MARRIED TO ME OK??? This is actually canon based on I said so.

Cogita x Ama: Ok this one is just Cogita x My fanfic oc but this is my list so I get to put it on here. Let the ridiculous sapphic woman get her awkward immortal gf ok? I mean it ends tragically in ACD but I still like them together so this is definitely my top Cogita ship.

I don't particularly like this ship:

Palina x Iscan - This ship held so much potential, especially as the only canon one, but overall it kind of disappointed me in practice. Iscan is just so cartoonishly afraid of ghost types it kind of makes him harder for me to like because they made it so much of his personality. If they'd been less heavy handed with it I'd probably like this couple more but I just end up feeling meh because I don't wanna see them interact more.

I feel like someone could convince me with a good fic where Iscan is treated like less of a complete coward though. There's nothing wrong with having fears or phobias but I guess I just didn't vibe with this particular portrayal of it. It's really too bad because the backstory they have together is so sweet and they are one of the ones I wanted to like the most but it just didn't end up happening. Iscan deserved better writing tbh.

Laventon x Cyllene - Cyllene just doesn't seem like she'd appreciate Laventon like he deserves. He's so nice to her and she just kinda brushes him off. I'm sure some people like ice queen type pairings and if you do you'd probably like it more than me but I want Laventon to have someone who acts just as happy to be with him as he would be with them.

Purely personal reasoning but I do what I can to avoid them. There's nothing wrong with them I just don't want to see it because all the characters here besides Volo I like to interpret as Aro/Ace and as an aro ace person myself it's just gonna be that way for some ships 😂 I also interpret Volo as a lot younger and the twins as a lot older than a lot of people so it's just not my thing based on that too.

It also feels weird that Volo x Emmet is as much of a thing as it is because Emmet is not in PLA. It makes it feel like more of a submas fandom thing than an actual PLA fandom thing so I honestly am pretty heavily dissociated from wanting to see it even more than with Ingo.

Volo x Cogita - While I know there's no official interpretation of their relationship I feel like too much points to both Cogita being way older than him (her having lines under her eyes/grey hair to indicate being older, her calling him "young man" to indicate she sees him in a much different age group than her) and potentially a direct ancestor of him herself (how similar they look in facial structure)

Now you could interpret things as they are the two unrelated people that got together to eventually have Cynthia and they are both immortals or whatever but it doesn't really seem that way to me and it kinda just doesn't vibe for me because of that. No shade if you disagree but it's not for me! They will always be dysfunctional family members in my eyes.

Hmm I definitely agree with most of your rant regarding neils ao3 characterization, with the idea that gay relationships can't be written as heteronormative, honestly especially if one of them is gender nonconforming, and I do think some of the dislike around his character can be from a place of transmisogyny. And people who ask for more masc4masc and fem4fem couples are a bit dumb. But I still have a bone to pick with his characterization on ao3 and I can't put my finger on whyyyy

Maybe, it's because (and I'm speaking about the state of the fandom back around 3??or 4?? Years ago when I would actively go through the tags and look for fanfiction and neil was my fave) it was always neil bottoming in every fic ever, no matter what character he was being shipped with in the fic, but like a lot of these fics or even the ones that weren't explicit would have something happen to him where he was the victim or he needed to be coddled and comforted by everyone else, and while I don't think neil is impervious and will never feel and inch of distress in his life, i can't help but think it's a bit ooc (not that there's anything wrong with ooc fic) and it's like neil can also be dangerous and has the capacity to hurt ppl and can be a dickhead but I don't think alot of fic back then showed that? They'd just call him sassy maybe he'd make a few quips and that's it. I think theres a lot of fics out there that wipe out his complexity ig. Maybe I just hate his characterization bc I wanna be a contrarion and I find his characterization boring if it's like that because you can find it in any fandom assigned bottom ever and ive seen it too much so i wanted to see a switch up or its more about his personality being written and less about being feminine and bottoming though i do think the ppl who write him being more feminine also tend to write his character a certain way. But like I also cant help but wonder where it comes from, like it's neil written like this and rarely ever andrew so

i see what you mean re: neil losing his edge, and i do think that it happens a lot with him because he is the protagonist and a prominent character in the vast majority of aftg fics, but i wouldn't say the same de-fanging process doesn't happen to andrew. the fandom has made it a point to soften all of andrew's edges; it's one of the most common bones people pick with nora that she never gives into the idea that andrew becomes a normal, well-adjusted, life-loving member of society post-canon. whether i enjoy andrew in a softer way or not is irrelevant, but i think this is definitely not a neil-only phenomena. i wouldn't even say it's really more pronounced when it's neil! i just think that helplessness, that lack of agency and bite, is a staple of most fandom content because it's self-indulgent and forces characters to act on their relationships by asking for and receiving help from their peers, whatever it might look like for each specific fandom

now i will say that i don't think that the process of making characters wholesome and ultimately consumable has anything to do with whether they are written as feminine or not; whether they are only in a receiving position or not. sexual preferences and gender presentations are inherently neutral: they don't say anything about a person's personality. i think neil bottoming being such a popular trope is just due to a natural consequence of how andrew and neil's relationship is presented in the books — andrew as someone who, at the point of where canon stops, physically cannot allow himself to be on the receiving end of any sexual act, and neil, who loves him and wants to help andrew to find pleasure in whatever way he can. it's the dynamic we're given in the original text, so it's what people tend to think about more.

of course i'm not saying it never overlaps with neil's excessive sanitizing and de-fanging, and it might as well be, for some people, that neil's acquiescence to andrew having control of what they do in bed is an entirely justifiable reason for writing him in a more feminine way. my opinion is, i think, just that that is not inherently immoral — that feminine people with those sexual preferences exist, and at times might even find that their gender presentation plays a big role in why they prefer to interact with sex the way they do. the history of femme pillow princesses in the lesbian community is vast, just as is the history of stone top butches. these minor niches don't imply that all feminine and masculine people must respectively bottom and top, but we do no one a favor by disregarding their experiences when they are a big part of how queer people do sex. i think we fall into old conservative myths when we moralize sexual preferences; i think we try to conform to cisheteronormative ideals when we deny gender presentations that are inherently tied to sex.

and just as a personal comment, i actually agree with you about neil being written as a perpetual, helpless victim and losing his agency. i don't enjoy it. i think it is born from indulgence, born from projection and wish fulfilment, but indulgence isn't immoral. projection and wish fulfilment aren't immoral, either. and, while i don't like the sanitization of aftg characters, i think it is less a character or fandom-specific issue and more of a material consequence of late stage capitalism; it's a symptom of a sickness that goes beyond our little constructed world, and one we should discuss, in my opinion, outside of the boundaries of fandom and individual guilt

i guess my tl;dr is that sometimes things are bad and we have to sit with their right to exist anyway. and my general tl;dr is that we help no one when we go out of our ways to condemn and criticize content where one of the characters is gender non-conforming because of said gender nonconformity. and, ultimately, that what we are missing is more fanfiction about kevin day in tiny tennis skirts

AAAUGH OOUGHHH.... (also some spoiler-ish things???? Nothing major, just referencing/discussion of supports)

Céline and Sharena friendship. Actually. ESPPPP after seeing her supports w Hortensia, like. I was actually wondering if she even would get along w Sharena, if they'd have any common ground personality-wise, beyond family and social status, but. I understand now. That literally wouldn't even matter to Céline. She just loves cute girls. She would find Sharena to be SO delightful. And the thing about Céline, is that, yes, she's very much a high society girlie, she's very much a princess and everything that comes with that, but. She's not really stuck up about it? She knows her worth, for sure, she knows she's desirable, absolutely. But like. She doesn't think she's better than anyone else. She doesn't have an ego. She's like. Grounded. And also, the littlest things entertain and delight her sometimes! Probably because she likely was a bit sheltered and secluded growing up, and likely also doesn't have a lot of the "average" life experiences one would have if like. They grew up in a village or something (actually, this is shown in her supports w Lapis, a bit! And what stuck out to me was just how excited Céline was to learn about Lapis and her resourcefulness -- both as a way to learn more about Lapis as a person, and a genuine curiosity and interest in what Lapis was teaching her!)

ALSO. BEYOND JUST THE FUN OF IT. I think Céline would really appreciate Sharena for who she is. Maybe there would be some bumps here and there, as Céline is assessing her -- I think, either Céline is the perceptive type (can tell if Something is off, if someone's words don't seem to match their emotions), or, that's actually a weak area for her. I know. Two complete opposite reads LMFAOOO BUT. I just don't know yet? But I am thinking about, how she is very emotionally intelligent. And I'm also thinking about, esp if it's someone she's just starting to get to know, she needs to study them. She needs information. Especially to determine how she feels about that person, measuring them up, seeing if they're someone she can be comfortable with. Sometimes, she's able to determine this quickly -- pretty much all the girls, she's quick to trust, and Alcryst, she's quick to trust as well -- I think, because she understands him almost immediately. Like, his M/O. His whole deal. He's fine, he's just haunted by endless horrors and ailments 👍 Passed the vibe check 👍 Also Jean passes the vibe check on account of being just a baby boy LMFAOO

But I think, how this relates back, is that. Maybe Céline would notice some Off things about Sharena, but not in a way that makes her seem untrustworthy or even insincere. It's a bit of a conundrum for Céline, actually. Trying to pinpoint it. But she likes Sharena, so she keeps talking to her, and makes it a goal to figure out what's going on. Eventually she does, realizing Sharena just has a rough mirroring, people pleasing and Getting a Good Grade In (insert any interpersonal interaction here) streak LMFAOOO

ALSO..... THINKING...... funny interactions between Alfonse and Alfred. Literally lowkey what happens in a few of Alfred's supports (I think it's a reoccurring thing?) where someone is up Way Too Late and Alfred. Is starting his day.

I think, on a more serious note, it would take some time for them to actually connect. Esppp bc of the opposite personalities. But Alfred is absolutely the perceptive type. He knows a lot more than he tends to let on. In a way, he has his own walls up, too. I think he'd be able to see through Alfonse very quickly, and given how Alfonse Is, just give him a little time to share way too much, be nice to him, and bam. Unintentional besties now. Alfonse head in his hands curled into himself dying in a chair "How does this keep happening" (<- GENUINELY does NOT understand How This Keeps Happening LMFAOOO)

It's EXTREMELY obscure, I feel like it's only referenced in Kozaki's Bruno comics where it's shown that Alfonse is envious of Bruno's body type? Like. i actually answered that here!!! it mostly boils down to his long-standing relationship with brenner that can be traced back to at least the creel murders because of owens’ rose symbolism during his conversation with the general about chrissy and the way his passive attitude works with his grid imagery compared to people like brenner and virginia who are associated with spiders (predators).

the relationship with brenner is important because the lab is heavily implied to be a place performing conversion therapy before henry is captured and experiments turn towards the MKUltra stuff and it seems like brenner and owens were partners. owens was never brenner’s subordinate, but his passive attitude makes it come off that way. brenner actually seems to have a bit of a reliance on owens when we look at how owens was entrusted with his lab even though he was alive and there was no real reason for him to be hiding, seeing as how the government can cover insane shit up. his only fear was el. he relied on owens to get NINA set up, it was a project they worked together on. the way owens talks to brenner is very direct and he isn’t afraid to show his hatred and frustration when they’re alone which is unlike owens, who tends to be more consolable when faced with authority figures like hopper or general sullivan. he gets frustrated with hopper and sullivan, but with brenner he’s stronger in his beliefs. not perfect, but stronger.

he’s got a long history with brenner and the lab. he’s got connections to the creels. i personally believe that owens may have been the one who recommended brenner to virginia, seeing as we don’t know where the creels moved from and it was the 50’s, so getting your hands on possibly out-of-state information about a conversion therapist in buttfuck indiana probably wasn’t easy.

there’s some other stuff regarding grid-imagery and peter and ruth, nevada which connects to some of stephen king’s books (the dark tower universe lore is a Hot Mess)

as for the hcs, i could actually see it being a very realistic growth for his character!! if his son died somehow related to his actions, he would’ve failed his goal; saving him. his conversion therapy doesn’t have the effect he hopes for so he’d likely have to come to terms with the fact that he can’t save people by forcing them to be someone they aren’t and losing his son would be a huge wake up call to that!! with mike and will it would hit even harder because they’re so reminiscent of peter and henry when they were younger

OUGH. i love lister so much. he's my favourite character for sure although rimmer is a close second. he's just such a fun silly guy but with this sad side to him....... i rlly appreciate how he's shown as tough and masculine and yet he's allowed to have hobbies like knitting and cry at romantic movies and care abt his friends without it being mocked. he's not a perfect person but i adore him anyways. very relatable at times as well lol. i also have a massive crush on him i think abt kissing him at least once a day hehehehehe

idk if this is rlly unpopular but i get a little frustrated by his inconsistent characterisation in the show, esp in s8 compared to other seasons. i get that he does whatever the writers think is funniest but sometimes he does or says something and im like ":( lister wouldn't say that......." even though he is literally saying it in canon lol

also i think he needs more love in the fandom maybe. or more fics abt him getting a hug or something. this dude is depressed and lonely as hell and it makes me so sad can rimmer give him a hug PLEASE

i wish his relationship with kochanski had gotten a proper resolution/he could move on from her and stop pursuing her romantically....... ive made longer posts abt this before but i just feel like his initial crush on her was just a shallow schoolboy kind of crush and it feels like a disservice to both of them that he's still chasing after her after getting to know her and them clearly not being romantically compatible. like in some episodes they're best friends but then the writing goes back to having lister treat her like an object rather than a person and it irritates me. i wish they could just be friends bc i adore their friendship and when lister interacts with her in a platonic way it's clear that there's such a fun dynamic there but it was utilised so rarely :(

my crossover ship:

ohhhh i don't rlly tend to do crossover ships so this was a hard one....... not rlly a ship more of a friendship but i would love to see him interact with the doctor from dr who lol. ik it's kind of a predictable choice as a crossover bc they're both british sci fi but i think depending on the iteration of the doctor they could either get along rlly well or hate each other and either way it would be very very funny.

i also think it would be fun to do a disco elysium crossover sometime. i would love to know what he'd think of harry and kim, i have a feeling he'd get along rlly well with kim but maybe that's just me

it's a pretty generic opinion but i don't believe that any of his attempts at flirting with women/seeming attracted to women in canon are genuine lol. it always feels very forced and unnatural to me. that man is a deeply closeted and confused gay boy and i can't see him any other way tbh. i think he WANTS to be straight so bad but he is not. not even a little bit

one thing i wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon:

i wish his character development would stick more! like ik he has to be bitchy for the comedy and that's fine im not saying he has to suddenly be nice or whatever but it's frustrating to see him grow a little bit as a person or overcome one of his insecurities only to go back to being even worse than before in the very next episode........ he is a little more mellow in later seasons than he was in the earlier ones but not by much, and i feel like things like learning abt his real father and going off to be ace and stuff should have had a real visible impact on him instead of just. not changing anything lol

Top seven of Arcaina Project + Tales Untold characters that Give! Me! Life!

You know those bitches that decide to make a top five of a mutual’s characters? Yes you do. Because I am bitches.

I was only going to do 5 but I ended up with 7 because… look, @nyxcharliechaos has a lot of babs and ITS HARD FOR ME TO CHOOSE ALREADY OK??? Also Tumblr started glitching as soon as I got to 7 images… that too.

Also, this is in no real order. It’s already hard to pick favourites, don’t make me rank them!

One more thing- admittedly this will be biased towards characters I know/remember more about. In case you haven’t caught on to how fucking unhinged this is going to be, it’s not going to be judging characters on quality. Anyways, y’all ready to be bitches with me?

1. Lucy

First, I think Lu was the first of Charlie’s characters I ever drew (I drew her looking like a hedgehog slurping noodles), so already some minor nostalgia vibes. I also like the one, emo-scene raccoon stripe hair piece she’s got. She’s actually got some low key late 2000s scene kid hair that’s kind of a vibe. The relationship between her and Nyx is extremely cute, and while I would have maybe made her look more muscular, you could argue that her… less than ideal eating habits would probably make it harder to develop muscle. Also she needs earrings. Don’t ask me why. She just does. I’m getting the vibe she needs earrings.

2. Nyx (shorter character in image above)

Probably the second character I ever tried to draw. Also a character that has appeared in various rps to commit various shenanigans. Given the backstory they’ve got, I do enjoy the puppet motif they’ve got in their design and powers a lot. I also think it’s neat that given how nobody else in the Arcaina Project looks like Nyx, no matter what colour their hair + eyes change to (and they change a lot) you can still tell that yeah, it’s Nyx and not some other bitch. Their deadpan reaction to more exuberant characters is a lot of fun, and overall it seems like they’ve got some pretty cool character arcs planned out

3. Molly

Look, I’m someone who already tends to like characters like Molly, and based on RPs and arts and whatnot, Molly just seems like fun. I also love the clothing choices, and the overall craziness going on personality wise. Not much to say, admittedly, it’s just a case of “yeah, I like em”. Although I think Molly, being the mad hatter’s kid, should have a hat made out of Campbell’s Soup cans. Idk, I just think it’s a good idea.

4. Virgil

Firstly, yes bitch, work that makeup. Now that’s out of the way, I do like the colour pallet of a bunch of dark colours then just one super bright pink that often gets used. Like with Nyx, since nobody else in Arcaina really has that going on with them, you can just slap hot pink next to a black and it’s like “oh yeah, fucking Virgin Creek, let’s go”. I think I like Virgil most based off of RPs he’s been in, and some of the stories he’s been in I’d say have been some of Charlie’s best, so… yeah. Also he eats cardboard. Automatic fav.

5. Odd

Frankly, I think I just relate to Odd in an oddly specific way, pun intended. Like… I get the reason she sleeps a lot is bc health issues, but like…. Listen, if you’ve ever done ballet, you KNOW what it’s like to wake up the next morning feeling like you’ve been hit by a fucking truck. I nearly typed trucking fuck. Whatever. Anyways, I do like the design and this may sound… odd, but I like the eyes. I noticed during an art I did of Odd that her eyes are a neat mix of brown and green. Also she has ice cream hair.

…. I mean… am I wrong???

6. Rowan

I think a lot of my enjoyment of Rowan comes from RPs, what with the shenanigans of them trying to hide that they’re part wolf and all. I also like that they have this kinda fancy, fantasy-ish cloak and hood that has this little red Diamond on it… then just clothes you’d find at the Gap. Idk, I just find it amusing for some reason. Also wolf canines are pretty neat, and I do like the hair… except when I’m doing an art with Rowan in it, and I actually have to draw it. Look, I normally don’t have anything against hair streaks, BUT…

Anyways tldr, I just think Rowan’s neat.

7. Lyric

Ok so probably not best art to use since this is older Lyric but I couldn’t find one of current lyric without wifi going haha no. I know, much tragic. Anyways, I like the hair that’s like “no I’m never behaving what do you mean?”, I like a lot of the outfits Lyric gets drawn in (by Charlie. My wardrobe contributions are very much a hot take), I enjoy their interactions with characters like Nyx, and… yeah I just like them.

Wonwoo is falling HARD! Is so cute the way he always have to refrain himself and remind himself that they are only friends, and how his friends support him and want to see him happy, even Seungkwan with his extraness, kept it low so he wouldn't be uncomfy.

And the OC, NGL, as a chubby girl myself I know how it is to not expect to no one to look at us "thar way". But I'm glad that you don't portrait her as a overly insecure, introverted and kind of depressing as I see in A LOT of fics out there, because even when you aren't one hundred percent comfortable with your looks you can dress up in a cute way and have a bubbly and bright personality and be a amazing friends and being a happy person I general. This is what makes me enjoy this story so much, she is such a relatable character.

Kinda hoping to Junghoon see the way Wonwoo look at her and mostly important make her believe that she can be likable and loved just the way she deserves.

yeyeye!!! i get that entirely!! i think its very important to me that mc isn't defined by being a chubby woman? shes insecure sometimes but not entirely because of her body, y'know? like deadass part of it is "i feel inferior bc of my body" but its also "jiyoung is rly smart and a lot more fun and lovely, who wouldn't be in love w her tbh?" since i think insecurity can really come from anywhere. for me it'll always have a little "no ones going to look at me bc of my body type" but i do get tired of reading insecure chubby readers who think no ones going to look twice at them. like, yes it does happen--but it doesnt help to keep reading it over and over, if that makes sense?

ultimately: im a chubby girl. i do not constantly think abt my weight like some fics seem to push, if that makes sense? it's important to me to not constantly harp on "your round stomach" and whatnot because that's not what defines me and it's not how i think about myself. its usually me going "i am squishy and soft hehe >:3" to my friends on my good days hehe so mc/the oc typically tends to not like... focus in on her own body like that.

but im glad sunny is relatable hehe shes honestly the person i wish i could be sometimes tbh! also i wanna dress like her SO bad in general. give ME the pretty dresses n cute clothes... and also the wonwoo but hes optional

It's over 70 episodes + a movie but I rewatched it 3 times, don't regret anything. Did you know that season 7 was announced?? After 6 years??? I'm so happy I thought they forgot about it!!!

Also I thought I was the only person who's seen the Chuunibyou one. I only watched it because it was loosely based on a vocaloid song of the same title and curiosity took the best of me but it was surprisingly good!

In the second half you also listed some really good shows like Sasamiya, Dr. Stone, Kiss him not me or Horimiya so I think I can say your taste isn't as bad as you consider it to be!!

Have you seen Given? I think you'd like it based of what you've recommended. It's cute, gay, gets pretty emotional and has really good music. One of the main characters might seem annoying, but personally I could connect with him in a way? It's just that he has this main personality trait that isn't really anything new in anime and people might not like it but it was the first time I've seen it being done right. He feels how I feel a lot of the time and idk, I might just be weird but he became my comfort character because of it.

Anyway yes!!! I knew about the natsume new season!!!! I have a bestie who is obsessed with natsume as much as I am. I remember the 6th season came out while I was still in high school and I would watch it during class with the school’s internet and like GOD every episode is a master piece I love that show so much I rewatch episodes randomly every once in a while, mostly the Shigeru and Touko one that one makes me SOB 😭😭😭

Chunnibyou I also watched it bc of the song I listened to the atr version of it and I thought it was dumb but I wasn’t expecting it to be as funny as it was. Like the main character being all into super heroes and wanting to be a super hero just to show how stupid that is and the fact that characters is voiced BY DEKU HIMSELF makes it all so poetic. The guy who believes he’s a demon or whatever getting a gf who plays along his delusions? Absolutely great. The guy obsessed with 2D girls? Somehow he’s the most normal. Catboy who edgy as fuck with a shit ton of sisters who are mean to him? Hilarious. Cringe ass Utaite guy? I feel like they could have done more with him but he was funny when he was his Utaite persona. I’m also impressed the girl who was really the straight man in all this wasn’t boring at all I was worried bc in shows like these girls tend to be just boring and tell them to stop and even if she sometimes did she would indulge in the madness so I think that was refreshing to see. Pls everyone give Chuuibyou Gekihatsu Boy a chance!

Sasaki to Miyano is so good 😭😭😭 goes a little slow to me but I got used to it after a while and the payoff is really good. Dr.Stone goat all I can say is that if you need a reason to watch it that reason should be Asagiri Gen his bitchass assholness really makes the show for me (also the science is actually pretty fun). Kiss him not me I don’t remember anything about it honestly except an episode where they fight over a ship name which I’ve seen enough in fandom spaces so like relatable and horimiya…..horimiya is so good pls everyone go watch it 😭😭😭 I would die for them holy shit like the most realistic interpretation of love and relationships I’ve seen. The drama is very ground in reality too like the one you see is not unnecessary or used to fuck them over it’s just so good!

I have pretty shit memory so I forgot to include it but I left it only at season one and didn’t bother to watch the movie (was there a movie right?) bc it focuses on Haru and the other guy and like they seemed boring to me I only cared about Mafuyu and Uenoyama and I got what I wanted out of them so I’m pleased with what I got uwu also did you know the mangaka used to write Haikyuu Doujinshi? That’s why Mafuyu and Uenoyama have that very familiar color scheme LMAO good stuff good stuff

that’s part of the trick: having the party right after school is too obvious, and also they wouldn’t be able to exercise if they’d eaten cake five minutes prior

anyway so, at this point, you’re probably feeling a little miserable

(luckily zaki’s too busy practicing so is distracted from feeling bad and thus being driven to spoil the surprise)

and then, it’s only post practice, that the “surprise” actually begins

but in the worst possible way cause these are high school kids, not party planners

birthday party in this case means one party-paper-chain-decoration-things (you know what i mean), everyone (but not hanamiya) wearing a little party hat, and of course a cake + presents

5 presents to be precise because, again, seto forgot

anyway you negotiate to bring the cake outside so you don’t have to eat it in a changing room that stinks of sweat (hara’s brilliant party planning didn’t think that one through)

so party becomes the 7 of you sitting cross-legged in the gym fighting over cake (another flaw in hara’s plan - it is very difficult for the birthday person to eat as much cake as they want, when surrounded by 6 ravenous post-practice teens)

at least the gifts are good!

well zaki, furuhashi and matsumoto’s gifts are; hara’s is a joke, and hanamiya’s is related to your role as a manager

but it’s a good fun time all around, 10/10 banter, even when, whilst the boys walk you home, a stranger laughs at seeing the bunch of you still wearing party hats

and then on the following saturday, the bunch of you spend the whole day together

which isn’t uncommon, given streetball matches, the lot of you having no other friends, etc

but this saturday, it’s less basketball and more just hanging out, maybe going somewhere fun

(also seto actually remembering his gift for you)

and you get to choose where to eat lunch, which is the ultimate honour

🍰UNDERRATED ASPECT COMBO: Mercury sextile venus + mars when I tell you the amount of crazy situations I’ve talked my way out of and the amount of free things I’ve talked my way into is simply ridiculous.. The mixture of both I think gives someone a rlly nice and sweet way of talking but with a certain tact and persuasion with how their saying it if that makes sense? Which equals a real charmer in words but also someone very skilled in how to get what they want through what their saying.
