What is Autophagy and Why You Should Care? Autophagy Procedures and Benefits
Welcome to the "Regenexx". Throughout this video, you will learn about Autophagy, why you should care about it, its procedures, and its benefits.
Autophagy is the body's way of cleaning out damaged cells, in order to regenerate newer, healthier cells. Autophagy, the original cellular detox occurs when the body is in a calorically restricted state and starts to consume senescent, old, weak, and dying cells as a source of energy. This benefits us by cleaning house and keeping these old cells from wreaking havoc on other more healthy cells. Autophagy can occur to some extent from exercise or after the body has been in a fasted state for about 48 hours. As one begins to consume food again, the body in its infinite wisdom will release stem cells to begin to rebuild the tissue that the body consumed. Autophagy is triggered when mTOR is suppressed from caloric restriction, and reduced glucose and amino acid ingestion. Eating these macro nutrients will stop the process of autophagy.

Water fasting is a type of fasting where an individual only consumes water for a period of time. While long-term water fasting can have potential benefits for the body, it is important to note that it should only be done under the guidance of a medical professional.
Here
are some of the potential benefits of long-term water fasting for the body:
1. Weight loss: Water fasting can lead to significant weight loss due to the reduction in calorie intake. However, it is important to note that weight loss may not be sustainable in the long term if not accompanied by a healthy diet and lifestyle.
2. Improved insulin sensitivity: Water fasting has been shown to improve insulin sensitivity, which can help reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
3. Lower blood pressure: Water fasting may also lower blood pressure levels, which can reduce the risk of developing heart disease.
4. Increased autophagy: Autophagy is a natural process where the body breaks down and removes damaged cells. Long-term water fasting has been shown to increase autophagy, which can help reduce the risk of developing certain diseases, including cancer.
5. Improved immune function: Water fasting may also help improve immune function by reducing inflammation in the body.
FASTING IS THE GREAT EQUALIZER FAMILY!
*Before anyone says this is 🧢 I judge you are speaking from what you feel you cannot do and into your own perceived limitations. I’ve seen this done and I I dare you to test your discipline and your potential*

I don’t see why working your pecks wouldnt stimulate good blood flow and proteins though, maybe even autophagy. Drs say a lot that they think will stop people from getting scammed but if working out my butt makes it stand up more? I need to try and do chest workouts too. If working out helps thicken bones theres no way there arent local skin benefits that just arent fully recognised yet or are not consudered worth the time of data analysis idc. Massages and even guasha can actually thicken skin too. One derm was talking about that once relating it to a massage study.
Idk boob is fat not muscle so it makes sense to me :/ it'd probably change your chest area in some way but I doubt it'd make a difference for me in pain without bras unless it involved losing fat and therefore breast fat. I'm really not interested in losing weight or fat tho

Beginners Guide To Intermittent Fasting - 4 Simple Steps To Start - Regenexx
Welcome to the "Regenexx". Throughout this video, you will learn about the beginner's guide to intermittent fasting & 4 simple steps to start.
Hey Dr. Mark Testa here, this is the beginner's guide to intermittent fasting. I'm going to share with you four simple tips to start with a 12-hour overnight fast. It's the simplest way to get started you're going to be sleeping the majority of the time, and you can do this and these four steps are really foolproof to get started. It takes about four to six weeks to get the body into a really fat-adapted state where it knows to go burn fat as fuel. So we're going to crawl walk run with intermittent fasting and overnight is the easiest way to start 12 hours.
Start fasting while you're asleep. These 4 simple steps will make it easy.
Intermittent fasting (IF) is not new to human beings. It is the way out biology was meant to work. Eat, stop, eat. Modern times have put food in easy reach. Many Americans eat 15 hours a day or more based on research from the Salk Institute. This may be why over 40% of Americans are now considered obese and more than 70% of the healthcare dollar is used to manage chronic health, and lifestyle diseases.
It may take up to six weeks to train the body to burn fat as fuel. IF can be the crawl, walk, run approach to help you achieve this goal. It's easiest to start with an overnight fast. You'll be asleep for most of it. Fasting has many benefits to health that are too vast to ignore.
When you eat again, make sure your food is healthy as you can do. Be sure to drink enough water.
Start here:
Be done eating 3 hours before bed or no later than 7pm
Keep your eating window for meals to one hour or less
NO snacking!
Expand your fasting window as you are capable of doing do
The benefits of fasting are vast:
weight loss
healthy levels of inflammation
healthy levels of insulin and glucose
improved health of the microbiome
cellular renewal and rejuvenation
disease modification
improved sleep
Consult your doctor before starting if:
you are on diabetes medication
you are on blood pressure medication
your BMI is below 10 or over 30
you have a health condition

The Top Benefits of Dry Fasting You Should Know About
Fasting has been popular in the world since time immemorial. From a scientific standpoint, this procedure helps one feel rejuvenated and healthier all over. Fasting today takes numerous forms, with the majority focused on health benefits such as increased fitness and decreased body fat. Dry fasting has become increasingly popular among them. This blog post discusses the benefits of dry fasting and why it is recommended.
Tumblr media
Dry Fasting: What Is It?
During the period that one is meant to be fasting, one must abstain from all food and liquids. This practice is known as "dry fasting." The water fast, which some people may be considering, is another form of fasting that has some similarities with dry fasting. Fluid consumption is permissible during a water fast but not during a dry fast. Dry fasting, as the name implies, entails zero consumption of food or liquids during the fast.
The Benefits of Performing Dry Fasting
If you are curious to know some of the advantages of this practice, the following is a list of the most well-known benefits of intermittent dry fasting.
Beneficial to the Skin It has been believed that a dry fast will benefit both your hair and your skin. Several people who have tried dry fasting have remarked that their skin is healthier looking and feels better overall as a result. Some people may be interested in knowing whether dry fasting can assist with stretch marks. The good news is several studies continue to support the assumption that dry fasting is an excellent way to remove stretch marks and sagging skin.
Losing Weight One of the most widely publicized perks of dry fasting is the possibility of weight loss. Going without eating for a period of time is thought to hasten weight reduction since your body will use stored fat as a fuel source during this time.
Autophagy Dry fasting is thought to aid autophagy, the process by which the body systematically kills old and damaged cells by breaking them down and destroying them. This opens the door for the proliferation of healthy new cells, which reduces inflammation and increases both energy levels and immunity.
How To Practice Dry Fast Safely?
Dry fasting is the safest way to fast when combined with other methods, like intermittent fasting. Even though intermittent fasting can be done in different ways, the 16:8 schedule is by far the most common. You can use this strategy with dry fasting by eating nothing for 16 hours and drinking water during the 8-hour window. This helps because injury risk goes down when the body is well-hydrated and full of energy.
To sum it up
Due to the numerous benefits, it provides, dry fasting is becoming a more popular form of the old practice of fasting. Even while the effects of a water fast may not be visible quickly, many people believe that being hydrated during the fast makes the wait worthwhile. It is advisable to contact a nutritionist if you wish to do dry fasting so that they may help you weigh the benefits and drawbacks of the practice considering your individual health and physical needs.

The suffering thing you talked about a few days ago is interesting. For me personally I have a hard time letting go of the concept bc I feel like there might be something I don't understand. Example: exercise. If I didn't know it was good for me I'd never do it bc I always hate it in the moment. Or doing a difficult skill always freakin sucks at some point. With food its the whole fasting and ~autophagy~ thing but idk I think that'a kinda bunk. Just always wondering if theres something else
And there are people who never do exercise to avoid the discomfort. Not good for you, but not uncommon either.
But like, what's the benefit of not feeling loved? What's the benefit of suffering through emotional pain? What's the benefit of your mental health dipping low again?

What Actually Happens To Your Body During A Fast, Hour By Hour
The sweet spot for intermittent fasting occurs between 18 and 24 hours of fasting ...
At the beginning of each week I fast for 16 hours to give my digestive system a break. And every few months I practice 14 hour fasting intervals over a few days as a spring clean but I do include liquids. I am currently reading a very interesting book on the benefits of fasting for healing and the concept of autophagy as healing is my area of interest. However even though I have been practicing…
