Illustrations by Justine Mara Andersen. “Star Wars Insider” Issue #60. June, 2002.
Issue #60 of the “Star Wars Insider” featured an article by Daniel Wallace titled “Who’s Who in Jabba’s Palace,” with accompanying illustrations by Justine Mara Andersen. The article listed the “The Good, The Bad, and The Goofy” and Mara’s caption, read:
Mara Jade is one of the most prominent Expanded Universe creations; in the New Jedi Order era, she’s married to Luke Skywalker. During Return of the Jedi, however, Mara Jade posed as a dancing girl named Arica on a secret mission for The Emperor. Her failure to assassinate Luke inside Jabba’s palace earned her a stern reprimand from her master, who died a few days later aboard the second Death Star. It was years before Luke discovered just how close Mara had some to unraveling his rescue plan.

The duality of Twi’leks is so funny to me.
Like, I love that George Lucas was like: let’s make Twi’leks ridiculously hot. Like, you’re going to a strip club? TWI’LEKS! Best race to enslave for entertainment? TWI’LEKS! 🥰 It’ll be great!
Someone probably: Cool! So ALL Twi’leks are attractive? Even the men? Tight!
GL: What? Ew, No. Why would I do that??
