November's starting weight 🥳
I really didn't think that I would've lost some weight since my last weekly weigh-in because I didn't exactly eat the best over the weekend, but I was pleasantly surprised!
I've technically lost 10lbs since starting my journey, though I think the majority of those pounds are probably from water weight but I'm still taking it!
Because we're in the season, I'm going to remind myself to give myself grace for these next two months (but still stay on track for the majority of the time). Because one thing I'm not going to miss out on is all the holiday food and treats!

Start your own garden!
Having access to fresh vegetables and herbs right outside your door makes it's easier to prepare flavorful and healthy meals. Plant a small garden and watch it grow! A little bit will make a huge difference. 
I started gardening knowing nothing about how to grow food to eat but that didn’t stop me from trying. Youtube is a great resource for gardening and composting videos. Some of the big box stores like Home Depot also offer free gardening classes. 
It doesn’t matter where you start just START. That feeling you get when you can have eggplant whenever you want instead of when it’s on sale is priceless!

Journey To Summertime Fine
Hey guys! As promised here is my post about my journey to summer time fine! So if you know or don't know bae ass is a huge fitness enthusiast he has done an amazing transformation and I am super proud, but me on the other hand I'm more of a start and fall off after a month kinda fitness people but in an effort to finally start a program and actually finish it, I began a fitness journey about 3 days again entitled "my transformation starts today" and it's hosted by 1st Phorm fitness (google them they are totally awesome) so the concept is that you join the program and they give you a fitness program and a meal plan for 30 days and they select winners (with some good ass cash prizes) based on who had the best transformation. Now the company itself provides a shit ton of info and it's free that's right FREE .99 but that's another blog post, but in all I just wanted to prove to myself that I can finally start something and finish it. Now Blue (bae) started me maybe back in December doing 3 home workouts a week in an effort to get me into the habit of just working out and staying consistent he also encouraged me to fill my timeline with a bunch of fitness people, now we all know there are a ton of IG fitness pages out there so I had a lot to choose from and he told me for my workouts to pick just 3 areas I wanted to focus on and don't so much as worry about the reps but to worry about just beating the number from the day before. So of course I did abs booty and back cause I mean who doesn't want a 6 pack and some abs and to get rid of those damn back rolls lol but in all it worked! I added a bunch of people I wanted to see and a bunch of pages that focused on what I focused on and as I sit here today at my first workout in the gym on the program I no longer feel lost when using the machines or the dreaded free weight area. So for my #melaninmafia I am going to break down three aspects that I'm focusing on while on this journey to being summer time fine. The program is 8 weeks total and I am not so much as looking to win but to just prove to myself that hell I can do this. I can actually start something and Finish it.
Nutrition
So the program gives you a meal plan and an allotted amount of calories (hello my fitness pal) and a list of substitutes (if your like me you need variety) so the key here atleast as I see it is to meal prep. It's a pain in the ass but if your anything like me with a crazy ass schedule it will help so my plan is to meal prep Sundays and Thursdays and to keep it simple. Bae is not picky at all so that helps as well and he's doing the same program so that makes it even better. So my plan is to keep it super simple and if I choose to get fancy it'll probably be on a Saturday. I'll post some of my meals after i prep them tomorrow.
Workouts
The workouts are easy breezy they give you a 30 day workout plan where you workout 6 days a week and you rest on Sunday. I did 3 days already and they were pretty easy, they have a guide You can print out to take notes on I just saved them on my phone. They usually take an hour so I workout Monday-Friday in the am and sat in the evening. I also incorporated some other things such as a hot yoga class (first one is tomorrow!) and a kick boxing class( got 5 classes off Groupon for 5 bucks!) because I like variety lol
Consistency
This is key! This is the real test guys so In order for me to stay consistent I have my accountability coach and I put some incentives in for myself. The first one is if I go to the gym 5xs then I get new workout clothes and shoes. I've added some pics below of my workout gear I'm wearing now and YEA IM WEARING LIPSTICK cause I'm extra AF...The next week is an awesome ass cheat meal ( as much as I want a day that won't help lol). Putting these In place will help me to stay on track and have something to look forward too.
This challenge is more also of a life style change cause truth be told, #melaninmafia we eat a bunch of bullshit( vegetarian challenge coming in sept) and we are not active and it's killing us, people as young as 30 are having strokes and heart attack's and high blood pressure and all of that and I don't know about y'all but I want to see my future little babies have little babies :) health is wealth and I want IN. I'll post a few pics of the workouts and such below for those of you who are curious. Also if you guys are interested I'll have my bf drop by to answer any questions you may have about fitness and stuff he's really knowledgeable and can help!
