The other night was a roller coaster of emotions. James had to go to the vet because he was straining in his litter box and his whole body was quivering it looked like in pain. He kept hissing at me and the kitties. He really scared me!!! 😢 The vet first told me that James would probably need surgery, which would be anywhere from 2 to 4K. 😬 They thought he had a blockage….. …. As it turns out, he wasn’t constipated & he didn’t have a blockage. He has colitis so they gave him antibiotics & some probiotics to help with his poopy issue. They told me to keep an eye on his peeing, though cause they said there was some protein in it. I nearly had a panic attack last night, thinking that my baby was going to have to go into surgery. Omg. 😮😞 He has been home and eating with his normal gusto. He’s doing good so far and I think he finally pooped normally. The first night back from the vet he hid under the bed but he’s back to his normal self now cuddling with me. He took the antibiotic at the vet and I just need to give him some probiotics every day. Whew! This could have been so much worse. I’m keeping an eye on him to make sure he’s OK. When James goes to the vet, he gets so much anxiety that he pees himself, every single time, and that’s a very good thing!! because it showed the vets that he was able to pee okay and that there wasn’t a blockage. Whew! So much stress!! And so expensive even if it wasn’t two to 4K! ❗ 🐾 Lost too many damn kittens & cats to infections, quite a few like this. Most with eye infections like this didn't recover & died... 😔 Very, very few got over it & recovered, to likely still have other lingering health issues, usually other URI-related ailments... These sick kittens & cats were almost always the most charming & friendly, me thinks, in a way, they "saw" me as someone that might be able to help them... And I wasn't able to do much... Upsetting when other person refused to do anything for them, continuing to let them reproduce & suffer until death like this... Get your kittens/cats spayed/neutered soon as possible when they're of that age, don't attract or let stray feral cat colonies get out of control to continually reproduce. Okay.
