Scream with me
Roman reigns x Y/n
Tumblr media
Warnings: pent up frustration I've been feeling the last few weeks has me beyond fed up so I turned it into what I do best a fic... And a comfort fic at that! Sometimes when Im frustrated this is a song I listen to because one of the lyrics in the song is "stand in the corner and scream with me!" You'd be surprised at just how much letting out a deep scream helps!! Errors I may have missed.

______
Why can't people just leave others alone and let them enjoy themselves? Why is it so hard to live your life and let others live theirs? People are cruel evil monsters at times and I would rather be surrounded by animals then people and my husband knew that so him coming home finding me having buried myself underneath our 3 dogs he wasn't surprised. What he was surprised about was the tears that had been pouring out of my eyes. Most the time dog piles helped dry my tears but not this time.
"babygirl what's wrong? Talk to me" he said trying to get me to open up but all I could do was stare off into space. He suddenly ordered our dogs off me "anubis, atlas, Apollo off!" He said, his voice deep yet commanding. they all got off me and went to their beds "sweetheart please tell me what happened! You know I hate seeing you cry" he said still trying to get me to talk. "Why is it that whenever I come up with something creative people have to constantly use my shit? I mean like if I had some that to them they would have thrown a hissy fit 10 miles wide! But they do it to me and I'm supposed to act like it's no big deal?!"
He knew I was pissed. My face still had tear stains but the anger was showing now "and some psycho cow says I'm delusional yet she thinks she did nothing wrong and her ass knows damn well she's a fucking liar! I will post that shit all over the internet if I have to! I give no fucks!! Or that bitch that used ohnmacht and put a 🔥 next to it and her dumbass not realizing you speak Czeck! In German ohnmacht means faint but I'm czeck it means power of fire which explains the 🔥!! Or how about that one bitch who knew I had a choking kink and posted a picture of you grabbing the ref by the collar of his shirt saying 'i'm just trying to make you know who jealous that's all' but im just supposed to act like none of this happened and those bitches can do whatever the fuck they want but if I do it to them and call them out suddenly im the bad guy? Fuck this shit!!! I'm done holding my tongue with this shit and I'm letting it all out!! I don't give a fuck anymore!! And if this is what it takes to show people I've had enough so be it!! I bet they won't bully me anymore!! And I'm sure they fucking remember but will pretend they don't!!" I said starting to yell and I could feel my heart starting to pound harder.
He let go of me and walked to our TV that had a Built in Bluetooth and my phone automatically connected to it "play the song you always play when you're angry" he said. I grabbed my phone knowing instantly which one he was talking about the opening chords hit and as soon as they did i felt my body relax. "Ever feel like dying, ever feel alone..." The rest of the verse played but I was waiting for the chorus and when it came I let lose "stand in the corner and scream with me!! A body full of empty!! A head thats full of rage but i believe it!!" The screaming of the words along with the unbridled rage has released an adrenaline rush i'd never felt before. My heart was beating so hard I had to sit down. He stopped the music and I looked at him "baby are you ok?" He asked rubbing the side of my face, moving my hair out of my eyes. I smiled up at him. "I had a massive adrenaline rush and I feel soooooo much better!!"
He smiled back at me "good I'm glad! But please don't ever let it get that bad again. Promise me you'll talk to me next time!"
"I promise" I said "I love you"
He leaned down and kissed my forehead before moving to my lips "I love you to!"

[December 18, 2022 — 8:50 PM 📍Teyvat Uni]
It was nearing 9:00 PM and you were still nowhere to be seen within the stage's area and Kunikuzushi was getting worried. It was currently 8:51, 9 minutes to nine o' clock. He was about to turn to Ajax if he's seen you anywhere as he pulled out his phone but the second he was about to, the stage lights dimmed, turning into a pink color. There were quite a few conversations of excitement up front with those close to the stage.
An electric guitar chord strummed into the speakers of the venue to reveal a familiar face, and Kunikuzushi swears he would've dropped his phone in shock.
It was you, wearing an outfit completely different to the one you had on earlier. This time, it was white with a few hints of pink to match the dreamy theme of the event. He saw how much confidence you had on stage and even he could smile as you did the same, only you were looking at the sea of people watching you perform.
"What do you want to do before..." Kuni trails off as he softly munches on the dinner you were eating after getting discharged, feeling that the topic might be a tad bit too morbid for a meal.
You ponder for a while, "Before I die?" you chuckle. "A lot of things. Maybe perform live in front of a big audience, I never got to do that before."
"Huh.." Kuni hums at your response. Perhaps it was fitting. That time, he never saw your passion for music in real time—he felt curious to say the least.
Now that opportunity has presented itself in front of him, in front of hundreds of fairgoers just like him.
The man's face tugs into an admiring grin at how you skillfully drag your hands over the strings of the guitar when you sing in such an alluring tone. Kuni's heart is full of pride, so full of admiration as you achieve one of the goals you had trusted him to hear that one day. He burns the memory into his head.
You don't know if the people in the audience could sense it, but you knew your voice carried an emotion buried deep. Underneath all the dreamy and breezy mood of the song was a feeling of attachment. As if you didn't want this moment of finally achieving something you were dreaming of to disappear into the back of your mind. Compare it to the feeling of hanging by the edge of a cliff, with only a hand to stop you from falling off—to stop you from letting go.
The euphoria of performing seeped into the lyrics, as if it was the one thing that helped your audience enjoy your performance even just by a little bit. Couples were holding hands as they looked into their partner's eyes as if they were the only thing that mattered, friends were singing along together as if your song was a ribbon that tied them together. You couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy. You were jealous that you weren't goint to be able to experience the same by the time 10 months have passed.
The least you could do was make this performance memorable for the people here.
If you weren't able to experience that memory in the future, perhaps you would be honored to create that memory for others instead.

synopsis. You are a singer-songwriter. Music has always been a part of you, it's a part of your identity that no one can ever take away. However, there's always a catch: you are diagnosed with a chronic illness that puts your life on a timer. Those who have heard your countless melodies have grown to notice that the notes on the sheet played a gloomier tune. Would the snarky and capable medical student you've met be able to bring life back into these melodies? Even as life begins to seep out of your own body? (scaramouche x gn!reader)

Pedri x Reader - Our Secret Part 7/10
My favorite chapter so faaaar! Just Pedri and Marcella fluff.
And then there's Gavi 😅
Whoever made this gif, bless you!
Tumblr media
The story of Marcella and Pedri. As students of the most prestigious high schools in the country, the two are very focused on developimg their indvidual talents. Marcella has music whilst Pedri has football. However, worlds collide when Pedri's secret is revealed, he has diabetes.
Enjoy!
"Pedri." Marcella giggled. "I have to rehearse."
"Five more minutes."
The sound of smacking lips echoed throughout the abandoned classroom. Pedri was on top of Marcella, pinning her down against the sofa as he traced hot kisses down her neck.
"Pedri."  She sighed. "We're gonna get caught."
"No ones coming." He grunted. "Do you want me to put it in?"
Marcella had her thighs wrapped around his waist, putting pressure in the right places. Pedri could feel his erection growing stiff beneath him.
"Put what, in where?" Marcella's face was flushed by the heat generated between them. She looked beautiful, Pedri thought. She looked sexy.
"Don't make me spell it out for you." He chuckled. "My dick, Marcella. Can I put it in, I brought condoms."
"Oh."
Her shoulders fell, along with her hands that had been cupping each side of his face. "Only, if you want to, of course. " He was quick to ad. However Marcella squirmed beaneath him, wanting space to sit up. Pedri backed off, giving her the space.
"I...." She stood, smoothening out her skirt that had crawled up her thighs. "I should rehearse. Señor Garcia won't be happy if I don't know my part."
"Marcella?" Pedri watched her make way towards the piano, he sat back on the sofa. "You know that you can tell me."
She looked up from her hands, hands that were pressing down on a soft chord. "Tell you what?"
"If you've never....you know?"
"Yes?"
Pedri sighed, she was gonna make him spell it out for her. "Tell me that you're a virgin."
Marcella cringed and rightfully so. "Why do you make it sound serious, like a disease or something?"
Pedri stood and made his way over to the piano. Marcella made room for him to sit next to her. "It's not a disease." He said, playfully nudging her side. "And it's not a big deal. But it's good if you're honest with me. That way I can make sure that your first time is special."
She cringed again.
Pedri laughed. "I should let you rehearse."
"Please "
He laughed again. It was nice, laughing with Marcella. They had been inseparable since the party. Now that Marcella knew his secret he didn't have to hide anymore. With her he was sincere, the real version of himself.
"I liked your song." She said and began playing a cheerful melody on the piano.
"You mean our song?"
"No." She chuckled. "The other one, the one you wrote me."
Yes, Pedri wrote Marcella a song. He had been feeling amazing for the past few weeks, a newfound energy. Mainly thanks to Marcella, who had no problem storing his insulin needles in her locker, this way making sure that Pedri recived the right amount each day. Apperently Marcella's late cousin had also struggled with diabetes. She had learned alot about the disease when her cousin used to live with Marcella and her family. Unfortunately her cousin also stuggled with alchol abuse and passed away after falling into a hyperosmolar coma two years ago. Her family still kept a few of her cousins insulin pens a the house. It's what saved Pedri's life that night of the party. Marcella recognized the symptoms of Pedri's hypoglycemic seizure and knew exactly what to do. Either way, Pedri was feeling great now that his insulin levels were balanced. He gained back some weight, increasing his muscle mass. Matter of fact, he felt so great that one night when he and Marcella were facetiming, Pedri, half naked in front of his bathroom mirror, couldn't help but to break out in song, pretending that his toothbrush was the microphone he used to serenade his girlfriend with.
"How did the song go again.....Mi queridaaa!!!"
"Stop it."  He slapped a hand over Marcella's mouth, preventing more of his embarrassing lyrics to escape. It didn't stop her from singing though, her lips tickling the palm of Pedri's hand. They went on like that, Marcella teasing Pedri until he was saved by the bell.
"Gonzalez!"
Pedri's mind was still in the clouds during training, at the expense of his teammates and coach.
"Gonzalez!" His coach hissed, a vein visible in his temple.
Pedri missed his shot at the goal and ran over to his coach following his embarrassing mistake.
"Didn't you hear me calling?"
"Sorry coach."
Steam looked to escape his ears. Nevertheless he found his composure, his gritted teeth transforming into a very large smile. He said, "They want you kid."
"Who?"
"The people at Sevilla. They want to make you an offer as soon as possible if you're willing."
"Sevilla?" Pedri repeated, suprised that the name did not awake much existment within him.
"It's a top team Pedri. A La Liga team. Why aren't you running home to tell your parents to pack your bags?"
Coach was right, this was huge. The start of his football career, this could be it. However, Pedri couldn't leave, not now. Not when things were perfect.
********************************************
"Marcella Adade. You're dumping me for Marcella Adade?"
Pedri rolled his eyes. "Give it a rest Rosie. We were never together."
It was another day, same sharade. Ever sense Rosie found out about Pedri and Marcella she had been getting on his nerves about it, trying to convince him that he was making a great mistake betraying her.
"What about our plans?"
"What plans?" He frowned. Pedri stood in the parking lot, leaning against his car as he waited for Pablo and Marcella's class to end.
"Our plans." Rosie presisted. "You and me, living life together in Barcelona."
Pedri chuckled. It was a promise made after a reckless night spent together. Pedri had promised to bring Rosie with him once he moved to the city of Barcelona to play professional football. It was his life long dream, apperently it was hers too.
"I'm sorry Rosie, but I'm with Marcella now."
She snorted. "Whatever. Just know that no one dumps me."
He was tempted to watch her red bottoms strut away, but just then Pablo was seen emerging out of the school building, Marcella at his heels. Pedri smiled. "How was your day kids?"
Pablo flipped him off, circlating the car, getting into the backseat. Pedri stepped up, holding the door open for Marcella as the passenger seat was now reserved for her.
"A gentleman." She giggled.
"For you, I'll be anything."
"Ugh!" Pablo was making hurling noise as the three of them settled into the car. "Can we just drive home in peace. Please?"
Pedri drove them home, dropping Pablo off at his house whilst he and Marcella planned to study at hers.
"I think Gavi hates me more now." She said, once they brought out their books, spreading them across her bedroom floor.
"Meh." Pedri shrugged. "He'll learn to live with it."
"Maybe."
"Hey." Marcella's chin dropped. Pedri scooted closer, reaching out to caress her cheek. "Pablo is my best friend. If I care for you so will he."
She gave him a half hearted smile. It was enough for him to lean forward and kiss her.
"I've been meaning to tell you."
"Tell me."
Pedri was busy tracing kisses along her exposed collarbone, nipping at the skin. He took pride in the way it required effort for Marcella to get the words out, seeing as he was distracting her.
"I think I'm ready." She mumbled.
"Reader for what?"
Pedri allowed his head to drop to her chest, nuzzling his face between her breasts.
"To have sex."
He seized to nuzzle, raising his head to meet her gaze.
She was biting the corner of her lip, yet looking determined.
He swallowed. "Right now?"
Marcella nodded, head moving slowly. "Like, right now."

i'll sing her my songs, i'll stay through the night.
HAPPY NESSIAN WEEK!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't think I was going to have anything to post (and I haven't posted fic in like a year oops) but I hope you like this one for Song Association! Inspired by Taylor Swift's surprise songs and Peter Sun's song "First of July." Enjoy, and let me know what you think!!
@nessianweek
also, I have an ao3 now (YAY) sooo read on ao3
warnings: some language
word count: 1.3k
“Alright, alright,” Cassian chuckles as he works to calm the crowd down. It’s a packed house tonight, and they’ve been rowdy since the boys took the stage. “Welcome to our acoustic set!” The crowd goes wild at this: the Bat Boys have been adding in surprise songs to their set since they started performing, and it’s become a major draw for concerts. They rotate picking a song each show, and there are no rules on what that song has to be.
Azriel tends to pick slower, indie songs, and their fans adored his version of ‘Next to You’ by John Vincent III so much they ended up releasing it as a single. Rhys picks classic rock more often than not, and Cassian has the most variety: everything from ‘Let’s Talk About Sex,’ to Hozier’s ’NFWMB.’
They’ve played unreleased music, fan favorites that don’t fit into the typical set, covers of nearly everything, and, most memorably, have dedicated some of their favorite songs to their girls. Rhys’s picks are always overly sappy songs for Feyre: his performance of Frankie Valli’s ‘Can’t Take My Eyes off You’ was particularly iconic as he reenacted Heath Leger’s 10 Things I Hate About You dance. Azriel brought Elain out one night and perched her on a stool next to him while he covered Gregory Alan Isakov’s ‘Big Black Car’ for her. Cassian’s dedicated songs to Nesta, of course, but since they decided to keep their relationship private, he’s never acknowledged her officially before playing a song. Until tonight.
“So, y’all are especially lucky because it’s my turn to pick the surprise song for you tonight, and we have something extra special for you.” He sits down on the stool the stagehand brings out and slings an electric guitar over his shoulder as he sits. “I don’t know if any of you saw, but I actually got engaged last week.” They’d announced it with a picture of Nesta’s ring on his Instagram, the only caption a white heart. No tag. The public knew Cassian was seeing someone, but they didn’t know who she was. Didn’t know she was Feyre and Elain’s sister, and had no idea she was in the crowd tonight. “If it’s alright with you, I’d like to play a song I wrote for her.” The crowd goes wild, and Cassian grins.
“It’s the first time we’re playing it, and she hasn’t even heard it yet,” he chuckles. “She doesn’t know I wrote it, either.” The crowd oooohs in response. “It’ll be out at midnight tonight, so you can listen to it again, if you’d like. It’s called ‘First of July,’ and I hope you like it. Nes, sweetheart, I hope you like it, too.”
He starts playing, simple chords on the guitar filling the venue.
I know that she loves me. I know that she loves the mountains more. Sun on her shoulders. First of July.
In the crowd near the stage, Nesta is standing, awestruck. She had no idea he was planning this. No idea he was even writing a song, much less one named for the day they met, and to spring it on her like this, well. She was probably going to cry. He did that to her. Made her express how she felt a little more honestly than she ever had. She stares up at him as he continues to sing, hand over her mouth.
You can’t tell her one thing to do She pushes your limits, she makes her own rules She’ll lift you up just to let you down, But she’s honest, she’s kind, she’s like no one around.
I’ll sing her my songs, I’ll stay through the night, With her in my arms, with her at my side So tell me what’s wrong, and I’ll make it right.
”Fuck,” she whispers, reaching blindly out for Elain or Gwyn’s hand. “I didn’t know he was doing this.”
Feyre laughs. “Rhys says he’s been planning it since you met.”
“Shit, Feyre, don’t tell me that. I’m already a mess.” Gwyn wraps Nesta up into a hug. Emerie gives the group of them a knowing look from where she plays with the boys on stage. Cassian is looking determinedly down at his guitar, and Nesta knows he’s nervous about what she thinks of this.
I know that she’s happy. I know ‘cause she’s humming while she eats At the counter Twelve o’clock noon
I know that she’s happy. I know ‘cause she’s reading me her stories. That she writes They’re not the ones she hides.
Nesta laughs wetly as Cass launches back into the refrain. It really was about her. About her schedule when she was on a deadline, and the songs she would hum when they wiggled their way into her brain and she couldn’t get them out. About the stories she read to him, and the scenes she hid because they may have been inspired by certain activities and she didn’t want Cassian getting too much of an ego, even if he was sure to read them once the books came out.
I’ll sing her my songs, I’ll stay through the night, Dear honeybear, love bug, sweetheart of mine.
She starts crying, then, because he hasn’t called her any of those names since they first started dating and determined ‘sweetheart’ was the only pet name she could stand. He really had been thinking about this for the whole time, then.
I know that I love her. I know ‘cause there’s nothing else I want.
Cassian finishes the song to raucous applause, and Nesta’s already sure it’s going to top the charts by the end of the week. He starts to get up and adjust for the next song, but she needs him to know she loved his gesture. That she was okay with it. “Cassian!” she shouts.
His head whips up, attuned to her at all times, even in a space as loud and chaotic as this one. When he sees her smiling despite the tears running down her face, his expression softens into a smile she knows is just for her. She waves him over, and he turns to gesture at a security guard. He looks back at her his face clearly asking if she’s doing what he thinks she is. She nods, and then follows a security guard up to the stage.
Cassian meets her at the top of the stairs. “You sure, sweetheart?” Nesta nods. He laughs, once, a joyous, hopeful sound, and kisses her. The crowd goes wild, and he’s sure the his brothers and the rest of his band are cheering too, but all he can see is Nesta. He pulls away from her to bury his head into the crook of her shoulder, and presses a kiss to her neck. “Love you, love you, love you.” He mumbles, and Nesta pushes him up and away so she can look at him.
“I love you too, you idiot. Go finish your show.” He laughs and pecks her nose.
“Nesta Archeron, everyone!” he shouts into the microphone, holding her left hand up so the camera can zoom in on her ring. “Also known as the love of my life.”
Nesta laughs, and he kisses her one more time. “See you after?” he asks.
“You always do. Break a leg. Don’t bring anyone else up here.”
“Never. It’s just you, Nes.”
“I love you, too, Cassian.”
He goes back to his set and Nesta watches the rest of the concert from off-stage. They finish and bow, and Nesta already knows there won’t be another show like this any time soon. She takes a picture of Cassian running back to her as he comes off stage, takes a deep breath, and posts it on Instagram. The caption reads: ‘@batcassian i guess the secret’s out. i love you.’
Cassian changes his Instagram handle to @cassianarcheron the next day.

Interview to JPJ
(by Steven Rosen, Guitar Player - July 1977, Chicago)
It was shared on ultimate-guitar.com by Steven Rosen himself (link). I suggest going to read the introduction because there's a bit of angry JPJ which is quite surprising (to me at least). Enjoy!
What was the impetus behind becoming a bass player?
I used to play piano when I was younger, and there was a rock and roll band forming at school when I was fourteen, but they didn't want a piano player, all they wanted was drums or bass. I thought, I can't get the drums on the bus, bass looked easy, four strings, no chords, easy so I took it up. And it was easy; it wasn't too bad at all. I took it up before guitar, which I suppose is sort of interesting. Before I got a real 4-string, my father had a ukulele banjo, a little one, and I had that strung up like a bass, but it didn't quite have the bottom that was required. Actually my father didn't want to have to sign a guarant or to back me in the payments for a bass. He said, ‘Don't bother with it; take up the tenor saxophone. In two years the bass guitar will never be heard of again.’ I said, ‘No Dad, I really want one, there's work for me.’ He said, ‘Ah, there's work?’ And I got a bass right away.
What was your first bass?
Oh, it was a pig; it had a neck like a tree trunk. It was a solid body Dallas bass guitar with a single cutaway. It sounded all right though, and it was good for me because I developed very strong fingers. I had no idea about setting instruments up then, so I just took it home from the shop. I had an amplifier with a 10 speaker... Oh, it was awful. It made all kinds of farting noises. And then I had a converted television; you know one of those big old stand-up televisions with the amp in the bottom and a speaker where the screen should be. I ended up giving myself double hernias. Bass players always had the hardest time because they always had to cope with the biggest piece of equipment. It never occurred to me when I was deciding between that and drums that I'd had to lug a bass amp.
What kind of music were you playing in that first band?
Shadows, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis stuff. I started doubling on piano. We didn't have a drummer at first, because we never could find one. That happened to another bass player, Larry Graham, Sly Stone's bass player. He started off in a band with no drummer, which is how he got that percussive style. You've got a lot to make up for once the lead guitar takes a solo because there's only you left. You've got to make a lot of noise. We got a drummer after a while whom I taught, would you believe. I've never played drums in my life.
That must have definitely had an influence on your playing.
I suppose it must have. I don't like bass players that go boppity boppity bop all over the neck; you should stay around the bottom and provide the end of the group. I work very closely with the drummer; it's very important.
How long did that first band last?
Not very long. I found a band with a drummer. This band also came along with really nice looking guitars, and I thought, ‘Oh, they must be great!’ They had Burns guitars so I got myself one, too. The one with the three pickups and a Tru-Voice amplifier. We all had purple band jackets and white shoes, and I thought, ‘This is it, this is the big time.’ But as soon as I got out of school I played at American Air Force bases, which was good training, plus they always had great records in the jukebox. That was my introduction to the black music scene, when very heavy gentlemen would come up insisting on Night Train eight times an hour.
What was the first really professional band you were in?
It was with Jet Harris and Tony Meehan (bassist and drummer with The Shadows). That was when I was seventeen, I suppose. And those were the days when they used to scream all the way through the show. It was just like now, really, where you have to make a dash for the limos at the end of the night make a sort of terrible gauntlet. In the days before roadies, you'd have to drag around your own gear, so we all invested in a roadie. We thought we owed it to ourselves, and this bloke was marvelous. He did everything, he drove the wagon, he lugged the gear, he did the lights... the whole thing.
What kind of bass were you using with Harris and Meehan?
Oh, I got my first Fender then. I lusted after this Jazz bass in Lewisham, and it cost me about $250, I think. It was the new one. They'd just changed the controls, and I used that bass up until last (1975) tour, and then she had to go. She was getting unreliable and rattling a lot, and I just had to leave her home this time.
What followed your working with that band?
I got into sessions. I thought, ‘I've had enough of the road’, bought myself a dog and didn't work for six months. Then I did start up again. I played in other silly bands. I remember that Jet Harris and Tony Meehan band, John McLaughlin joined on rhythm guitar. It was the first time I'd met him and it was hilarious. Here he was sitting there all night going Dm to G to Am. That was my first introduction to jazz when he came along, because we'd all get to the gig early and have a blow. Oh, that was something, first meeting him. And then I joined a couple of other bands with him for a while, rhythm and blues bands.
Do you remember the first session that you ever did?
No, I don't think so; it was in Decca Number 2 (studio in London). I was late, and I suddenly realized how bad my reading was. There was another bass player there, a stand-up bass, and I was just there to provide the click. It was nearly my last session.
Who were some of the people you were doing sessions with?
All kinds of silly people: used to do calls with Tom Jones, Cathy Kirby, Dusty Springfield.
The Rolling Stones and Donovan, too, didn't you?
I only did one Stones session, really. I just did the strings, they already had the track down. It was ‘She's A Rainbow’. And then the first Donovan session was a shambles, it was awful. It was ‘Sunshine Superman’ and the arranger had got it all wrong, so I thought, being the opportunist that I was, ‘I can do better than that’ and actually went up to the producer. He came around and said, ‘Is there anything we can do to sort of save the session?’ And I piped up, ‘Well, look how about if I play it straight?’ because I had a part which went sort of ooowooooo (imitates a slide up the neck) every now and again, and the other bass player sort of did wooooo (imitates downwards slide) down below, and then there was some funny congas that were in and out of time. And I said, ‘How about if we just sort of play it straight; get the drummer to do this and that?’
How did the session go?
The session came off, and I was immediately hired as the arranger by Mickie Most whom I loved working with; he was a clever man. I used to do Herman's Hermits and all that. I mean they were never there; you could do a whole album in a day. And it was great fun and a lot of laughs. I did all of Lulu's stuff and all his artists. I did one Jeff Beck single, and he's never spoken to me since. It was ‘Hi Ho Silver Lining’. I did the arrangement for it and I played bass. Then we had ‘Mellow Yellow’ for Donovan, which we argued about for hours because they didn't like my arrangement at all, not at all. Mickie stood by me. He said, ‘I like the arrangement, I think it's good’. It wasn't Donovan. He didn't mind either but he had so many people around him saying, ‘Hey, this isn't you.’ But he sold a couple of a million on it, didn't he?
Was the Hurdy Gurdy Man session when you first met Jimmy Page?
No. I'd met Jimmy on sessions before. It was always Big Jim and little Jim. Big Jim Sullivan and little Jim and myself and the drummer. Apart from group sessions where he'd play solos and stuff like that, Page always ended up on rhythm guitar because he couldn't read too well. He could read chord symbols and stuff, but he'd have to do anything they'd ask when he walked into a session. But I used to see a lot of him just sitting there with an acoustic guitar sort of raking out chords. I always thought the bass player's life was much more interesting in those days, because nobody knew how to write for bass, so they used to say, ‘We'll give you the chord sheet and get on with it.’ So even on the worst sessions you could have a little runaround. But that was good; I would have hated to have sat there on acoustic guitar.
How long did you do sessions?
Three or four years, on and off. Then I thought I was going to get into arranging because it seemed that sessions and running about was much too silly. I started running about and arranging about forty or fifty things a month. I ended up just putting a blank piece of score paper in front of me and just sitting there and staring at it. Then I joined Led Zeppelin, I suppose, after my missus said to me, ‘Will you stop moping around the house; why don't you join a band or something?’ And I said, ‘There are no bands I want to join, what are you talking about?’ And she said, ‘Well, look, I think it was in Disc, Jimmy Page is forming a group’, he'd just left the Yardbirds ‘why don't you give him a ring?’ So I rang him up and said, ‘Jim, how you doing? Have you got a group yet?’ He said, ‘I haven't got anybody yet.’ And I said, ‘Well, if you want a bass player, give me a ring.’ And he said, ‘All right, I'm going up to see this singer Terry Reid told me about, and he might know a drummer as well. I'll call you when I've seen what they're like.’ He went up there, saw Robert Plant, and said, ‘This guy is really something.’ We started under the name the New Yardbirds because nobody would book us under anything else. We rehearsed an act, an album, and a tour in about three weeks, and it took off. The first time, we all met in this little room just to see if we could even stand each other. It was wall-to-wall amplifiers and terrible, all old. Robert (Plant) had heard I was a session man, and he was wondering what was going to turn up some old bloke with a pipe? So Jimmy said, ‘We're all here, what are we going to play?’ And I said, ‘I don't know, what do you know?’ And Jimmy said, ‘Do you know a number called, The Train Kept A Rollin'?’ I told him, ‘No.’ And he said, ‘It's easy, just G to A.’ he counted it out, and the room just exploded, and we said, ‘Right. We're on, this is it, this is going to work!’ And we just sort of built it up from there. ‘Dazed And Confused’ came in because Jimmy knew that, but I could never get the sequence right for years; it kept changing all the time with different parts, and I was never used to that. I used to having the music there, could never remember. In fact, I'm still the worst in the band remembering anything. And the group jokes about it, ‘Jonesy always gets the titles wrong and the sequences wrong.’ Even now I have a piece of paper I stuck on top of the Mellotron which says: ‘Kashmir remember the coda!’
What were some of your early amplifiers?
I've used everything from a lousy made-up job, to a great huge top valve (tube) amp. We started off in a deal with Rickenbacker where we had these awful Rickenbacker amps; they were so bad. Our first tour was a shambles. For about a year I never even heard the bass. They said, ‘We've designed this speaker cabinet for you’, and I said, ‘Let me see it, what's it got in it?’ It had one 30 speaker! I said, ‘All right, stand it up there alongside whatever else I've got, and I'll use it.’ I plugged it in, and in a matter of five seconds it blew up. I thought the bloke was having me on; I said, ‘There's no such thing as a 30 speaker!’ And I had to take the back off because I couldn't believe it. Then we met the guy from Univox, and he came up with a bass stack, which unfortunately didn't last the night. But while it was going, it was the most unbelievable sound I've ever heard. It was at the Nassau Coliseum in New York, I remember, and the bass filled the hall. It was so big, it couldn't have lasted. I don't think I'll come across anything that sounded like that. But as I said, three numbers and wheel the Acoustics out again. I used two or three 360 standard Acoustics for quite a long time. They served me well.
You used the Jazz bass until just recently?
Yeah. Oh, I got a hold of a very nice Gibson violin bass (pictured in the little cut out wheel on the cover of Led Zeppelin III). That was nice, too, it's not stage worthy, but it gives a beautiful warm sound. I don't like Gibson basses generally because they feel all rubbery; I like something you can get your teeth into. But the violin bass was the only Gibson that was as heavy as a Fender to play, but still had that fine Gibson sound. I used it on Led Zeppelin III, and I've used it every now and again, usually when I'm tracking a bass after I've done keyboards for the main track. The one I have went through Little Richard's band and then through James Brown's band, and it arrived in England. In fact, I saw it in an old movie clip of Little Richard. It was probably about a '48 or '50 or something like that; it was the original one. Actually, I've also got an old '52 Telecaster bass. I used that on stage for a while, for ‘Black Dog’ and things like that.
Do you ever use a pick when you play?
Yes, when the situation demands it; on the 8-string it's awful messy with your fingers. On ‘The Song Remains The Same’ I use a pick to get that snap out of the instrument. It's fun, you play different. If I was just playing straight bass, I'd use fingers. When I first started I always used my fingers.
How has playing with Jimmy Page for the last nine years styled your playing?
That's hard. I play a lot looser than I used to. For instance somebody like John Entwistle is more of a lead instrument man than I am. I tend to work closer with Bonzo I think. But then again I don't play that much bass on-stage anymore, what with the pianos and the Mellotron. I'll always say I'm a bass player, though.
How do you develop a bass part?
You put in what's correct and what's necessary. I always did like a good tune in the bass. For example, listen to’ What Is And What Should Never Be’ (on Led Zeppelin II). The role of a bassist is hard to define. You can't play chords so you have a harmonic role; picking and timing notes. You'll suggest a melodic or harmonic pattern, but I seem to be changing anyway toward more of a lead style. The Alembic bass is doing it; I play differently on it. But I try to never forget my role as a bass player: to play the bass and not mess around too much up at the top all the time. You've got to have somebody down there, and that's the most important thing. The numbers must sound right, they must work right, they must be balanced.
You just picked a track from the second album, but there was something so gloriously unique about the first Zep record.
I know what people mean when they say the first Zeppelin album was the best. It was the first. I don't know what it was; we could never recreate those conditions it was recorded in. It was done in about thirty hours, recorded and mastered. There was a lot of energy in those days. But I liked (Physical Graffiti). I liked most of them actually. The funny thing was about the first album, when we got to about the third album (Led Zeppelin III) and started using acoustics everyone was saying, ‘Ahhh, Led Zeppelin has gone acoustic. They've changed their style.’ What everybody forgets is there were two acoustic numbers on the first album. Right? ‘Babe I'm Gonna Leave You’ and ‘Black Mountain Side’. The funny thing is people try to pigeon-hole you with all that heavy metal stuff. And if they ever listened to the fucking albums they'd realize it was never riff after riff after riff. It never was like that, you know? Peculiar... oh, well.
Do you practice?
In a word, no. I fool around on piano, but bass I never practice. Although again, with the Alembic, I'm beginning to feel, ‘Wouldn't it be nice to have it in the room?’ It really makes you want to play more, which is fantastic.
The band has always had a strange relationship with the press.
There is an amount of professionalism which must be retained. You can't go around canceling gigs and things like that. After Robert's accident there were rumors of, ‘Oh, they're afraid to come out’ and this and that which was really hard on us because we've always tried to be as professional as possible. And we take a pride in this. We've tried to turn up on time but it gets hard moving this amount of people. And that sort of thing hurts. Robert was in a wheelchair and we had to wait until he was healed. And then we were all ready to go and he got tonsillitis on this '77 tour. And he must have felt so bad. I tell you if this band ever drops from favor with the public, a load of people are going to come down on our asses so fucking hard. They're just waiting for us to drop. I don't know why, I honestly don't know. I always remember the first review of our first album in Rolling Stone and the bloke dismissed it out of hand. I don't even think he would listen to it and said as much. Then they dismissed us as hype.
Who do you listen to?
I don't. I used to listen to a lot of jazz bass players once, but jazz has changed so much now, it's hardly recognizable. I listened to a lot of tenor sax players: Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane and all those people. Bass players? Scott La Faro, who died. He used to be with (jazz pianist) Paul Chambers. Ray Brown and Charlie Mingus, of course. I'm not too keen on the lead bass style of some players. Paul McCartney, I've always respected; he puts the notes in the right place at the right time. He knows what he's about.
Who don't you listen to?
Ian [Anderson] is a pain in the ass. We toured with Jethro Dull [sic] once and I think he probably spoke three words to Jimmy or I at any one time. The band was nice but he was such a funny fucker. His music bores the pants off me, it's awful. Page came up with the greatest line about them. He had a title for a live album when Jethro was playing in Los Angeles: ‘Bore 'Em at The Forum’. (Ritchie) Blackmore is another guy I don't like. He was supposed to have been a big session man but he must have done demos because he was never a regular session man. I'm getting out all my pet hates.
There's nothing you'd like to do outside of Zeppelin in an instrumental context?
I always get the feeling I'd like to write a symphony. I like all music. I like classical music a lot. Ravel, Bach, of course, Mozart I could never stand, though to play it on the piano is great fun. If Bach had ever come across the bass guitar, he would have loved it. Rock and roll is the only music left where you can improvise. I don't really know what's happened to jazz; it has really disappointed me. I guess they started playing rock and roll.
So you're able to continually experiment in Zeppelin and expand your playing?
Yes, absolutely. I wouldn't be without Zeppelin for the world. What's it like being in Led Zeppelin? I don't know. It is a peculiar feeling; it intrigues me.

Hello!!! *throws these at you*
🕯️ ⇢ on a scale from 1 to 10, how much do you enjoy editing? why is that?
🎲 ⇢ what stops you from writing more in your free time?
🍬 ⇢ post an unpopular opinion about a popular fandom character
🔪 ⇢ what's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?
HELLO SADIE! Ahh, thank you so much for the questions, fella. Sorry for the late reply, it was Eid yesterday so I was so busy <3 (It was so fun!)
🕯️- I would have to say a solid 4. I do not enjoy reading back my work, I always cringe too hard, but the satisfaction of finding a little bit that is awkward and molding it into a better, much more seamless piece really strikes a chord on the satisfaction machine, and it's real nice. The only reason I gave it this low of a rating is really the inability to re-read my stuff. I wish I could do it without wanting to die in a hole, but alas! I cannot lmao.
🎲- Honestly, just lack of confidence and motivation. I always have a lot of ideas I really want to write about, and a lot of plots and directions I want my stories to take, but I don't have a lot of confidence, and then I just don't- write. I should probably gain a little bit more self-confidence with my writing, and then the words will probably flow well! Another reason is the fact that I do really struggle with getting the words down. I have the pictures in my head, but getting words to form those pictures down on paper (or screen) is incredibly difficult to do in a satisfying manner. I suppose I might be a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to writing in that I want my work to be perfect, which isn't really possible.
🍬- Oh boy I love these questions haha. Here is one that I think is somewhat controversial. I really appreciate the fact that in the panels of the show, they didn't change his name to The White Wolf. It sorta of, to me, shows that as much as he might not like it, he still was and till now is the Winter Soldier. Some people say that it isn't fair that Sam got his arc as Captain America and Bucky didn't get his transformation into the White Wolf, but I just- I don't know, I like the idea of him reclaiming the title Winter Soldier. He might try to run from it, or to hide his past, but in the end people still recognize him as the Winter Soldier, and people recognize Sam as the new Captain America. The show didn't show any parts of the White Wolf, and still showed how Bucky falls into his fighting stance easily and with grace. It shows the characters using the Winter Soldier title to advance in their mission, and it shows the fact that being the Winter Soldier is still a major playing factor in Bucky's life, whether it's the past coming back to haunt him, or the fact that he is still seen as a criminal (he IS a criminal that boy broke a terrorist out of prison and missed court mandated therapy LMAO). Idk, I just quite like it. I like the idea of Bucky realizing that he cannot escape his past, and that he can, even though he is the "former" Winter Soldier, he can still be good. Sort of like Natasha not giving up the title Black Widow even though she defected from the Red Room. Yeah. And I think that might be quite unpopular to some!
🔪- Oh one of the weirdest things I have had to research is veterinary medication and psychiatric treatments in the 1980s Soviet Union. I am still in the process of researching this for a current fic I am working on, but yeah. It's super absurd to me. It's such an odd topic, and it is incredibly difficult to find English source material, so I keep having to grind through texts with my A2 Russian and Google Translate haha. It's super interesting though, and in the process of this, I have fallen down several rabbit-holes including the common Soviet village house, Caucasian last name meanings and frequencies, and, my favourite, 80s Soviet music!
Thank you bunches for the ask, I had a lovely time thinking up the answers and writing them down!!! I hope you are having a lovely day/night!

bad buddy fandom getting-to-know-you-meme!
Got tagged by @tiistirtipii at this post here and @inventedfangirling at this post here. Thanks for tagging me! 🥰 (And sorry I've taken so long to respond. 🤦‍♂️)
name and whatever you want to share about yourself
You can call me Tel. I love writing, languages, linguistics, and learning about different cuisines and cultures. I live right in the middle of Southeast Asia.
when did you watch bad buddy/join the fandom?
I started watching Bad Buddy almost from the start, after a friend told me Ohm had a new series out. I went into it pretty blind, not knowing anything at all about its history or genesis. I'd liked Ohm's work in He's Coming to Me and was open to more from him, not thinking the series would be anything more than your run-of-the-mill BL. And was I ever wrong! I think BBS sort of grew slowly on me for the first few episodes, but it really took hold after Nanon's single tear at the end of Ep.4. And I lost it after The Kiss at the end of Ep.5, of course. The no-holds barred obsession really set in after I realized this wasn't any ordinary BL; it works on so many levels and the intelligence with which it was crafted is formidable.
Favourite ship/s
PatPran does it for me.
Favourite character/s
Love them all, but introvert Pran with his protective walls, defensive rituals and surreptitious signposting of his emotional state with doodles and symbols really struck a chord. Pre-Ep.10 Pran was like an extreme version of younger me, I sometimes think.
Favourite episode/s
Episode 11 – I love everything about the beach, and the two of them alone by the sea was like my idea of paradise. But I nodded sagely along when BBS gently pointed out that their beachside idyll was just a temporary respite and that paradise doesn't exist on Earth.
Favourite scene/s
Oof. So many. My all-time favorite is the opening scene of Episode 5 (see this link here for why) because it was layered so deep with meaning and messaging, beneath the happy surface theatrics. I sometimes think of BBS as one giant and intricate puzzle, and if you find and fit together the right puzzle pieces it reveals so much more to you. The amazing thing is that it kept doing this over and over again. Like how many themes and allegories can this one series have? But if you want to disregard all of that and just enjoy it as a well-crafted BL with stellar acting, you can too. And that is also part of its magic.
Some other scenes that still give me the chills:
Deeply-pining Pran looking on at an oblivious Pat sleeping peacefully in Ep.4 [4/4]; I've been there and I know exactly how his heart must have been rent in two at that moment.
The Kiss in Ep.5 of course.
Pat finding out in Ep.10 that Ming wasn't the unimpeachable hero that he thought he was.
Pran missing Dissaya in Ep.11 (this is because I still miss my late mom with all my heart; the grief is going to be a forever guest there I fear – you just learn to pack it away in a box and put it away in a quiet room in your heart, but it breaks free every now and then, just to stare at me silently with its unknowable face).
When Our Song plays in Ep.11 (especially when Uncle Tong does his voiceover and the soaring guitar solo kicks in, and then we see Pat and Pran back in front of their houses, bracing themselves to face their families again).
Ah that award-winning scene on the balconies in Ep.12, when Pat and Pran indulge in a joyful, all-smiles tin-can conversation for old times' sake, play-acting at being strangers, and then dastardly Director Aof toys with our hearts once again and has the music crescendo as he morphs them back into their kiddie selves dressed in the same clothes to show us that the bond between the two scamps had always been there, forged since childhood, and that they were never really enemies throughout it all. And amidst the nostalgia we're suddenly engulfed in a wave of bittersweet emotions imagining all the what-ifs and if-onlys and what-might-have-beens had those poor little tykes not been forced into that meaningless rivalry by their warring parents. But as the camera pans away we hear their young voices piping in the night, still innocent and so full of hope, reminding us that when those two little boys grew up they still managed to find a way to triumph over all the pitiless hurt imposed on them. And how privileged we were to have been able to share in the story of their journey.
One thing you would change about the show if you could
I've thought so much about this show, it's not just one thing. And don't get me wrong; I'm not tearing it down or hurling brickbats at this series I love so much. It just irks the Perfectionist Pran side of me that something so beautiful, deep, intelligent and heartfelt also has its little flaws here and there.
I think they could have done a better job helping us understand how and why PatPran's competitive dynamic launched them so suddenly into the madcap bet in Ep.7. The cinematography was inconsistent in a lot of parts. The English subtitling (especially of Ep.5) could have clarified some things, but instead made them more confusing. And Pat getting shot may have been necessary on an intellectual level, to nod at some trope, theme or other literary preoccupation perhaps. But the narrative didn't really need that moment of conflict and I felt BBS tipped over into unnecessary melodrama at that point.
what are your some of your favorite fanworks made by other people?
I adore the analysis, meta and backgrounding of BBS that you can find on Tumblr. So many intelligent, creative people looking at this show, but those that spring to mind:
@airenyah @bengiyo @chickenstrangers @dribs-and-drabbles @dudeyuri @grapejuicegay @inventedfangirling @kenmakaashi @lovelyghostv @lurkingshan @lurkingteapot @miscellar @neuroticbookworm @pandasmagorica @ranchthoughts @recentadultburnout @waitmyturtles
Fan art also by @hereforlou and @kit-teung. 😍
I've probably forgotten so many others, please forgive me if I have; if I've liked and reblogged your work it means that you've touched me with your intelligence and output and I'm automatically a fan.
What are your favourite fanworks you've made?
I mostly post observations and findings from research about the show, so they're not works of fiction or visual art, just essays really. They're all special to me in different ways, but I lean most to the one that talks about the etymology of Pat and Pran's chue lens, what they mean semantically and what they mean for the series (write-up linked here):
My post about the Ep.1 scene in front of Khun Noppharnach's Pharmacy (linked here) was another one where the pieces of the BBS logic puzzle fell into place in a way that satisfied my gameplaying side:
I'm also chuffed about my location posts (linked here; have identified almost all of them, such is the power of the Internet), finding out that the jeep in khanom jeep dumplings also means to court (linked here), and tracking down Baseball Mom (linked here).
A song that makes you think of BBS (not in the show)
My obsessive mind can't let go of this song (I've written about it several times now) but Never (ไม่เคย) by 25Hours devastatingly captures the quiet grief over losing that special someone in your life (and tells us what Pat must have been going through post-separation from Pran in high school). Pat mentions it at Ep.5 [3I4] 0.35 but it isn't played in the show. I've got it on repeat now, and am well on my way to memorizing the lyrics.
Onward tagging:
@airenyah @bengiyo @chickenstrangers @dribs-and-drabbles @dudeyuri @grapejuicegay @hereforlou @inventedfangirling @kenmakaashi @kit-teung @lovelyghostv @lurkingshan @lurkingteapot @miscellar @neuroticbookworm @pandasmagorica @ranchthoughts @recentadultburnout @waitmyturtles
No pressure to play if you don't want to, or have already done it. But do tag and let the rest of the BBS fandom know if you have responses for us to read! 😍

got tagged to do my top 10 songs that have been on repeat by @gliscor so heres... a selection from spotify on repeat playlist. and then some honorable mentions i pulled from my last fm :P that may or may not overlap with the ones from spotify because i wrote them down before taking the screenshotss
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and now. the encore
pictures of you. "and i said no👿... and i said yes😈"
my friends made that solar winds track i need to relisten to that album
uuurrrgghhhhh i loooove Puzzle. cuz all i haaaaaavee is yoursss. standing in front of meee..... and the sections where hes not singing are so upbeat it makes for a real good contrast. and i enjoy his voice it almost sounds like conversational. urgh idk it just kinda fits the music. and overall i do think the notwist have a rather unique sound . so cool
Limitation of Lifetime... Hauschka released rhis track in the EP leading up to his latest album, on it was the track "Loved Ones"... but i do think i enjoy LoL over the latter, despite both being rather short and uneventful
what a shitty thing to say... djd you really mean it? elliott is really good at painting picture with words on this album and his use of chords and rests really enhances the way he leads the listener through every single musical journey
Your black hair is like black hair. My Hair is like a jerk's hair. I'm Not Like That.... and. the unapologetic approach to the composition and effects they had on this track. and the little details, how the dissonant choir is played in reverse the mext time its played, the way the dry vocal track is on one side and its reverb on the other. the loud snare thats clearly not just one sample constantly played back, but a continuous banging of the same drum over the course of the track. and the bass synth that only plays octaves. enamored captivated. urgh
so clever to view the good you have in you as something material, physical, so you can go to the doctor about it. clever . in its entirety this song does remind me of ... Bright Eyes
Randomly got this recommended to me by youtube, had it in my Watch Laters probably. listened to it on loop for a bit some time ago... good song
IF YOU SEE THAT MAN OF MINE TELL HIM ONCE FROM MEEEEE...... IF HE WANTS ANOTHER GIRL YES ILL SET HIM FREEEEE BOWLING GREEEEN.... going through this whole wide world i aint got no home...... i aint got no home bowling green...... ;(
im halluuuuuciiiiiiinaaaaatinggggg.... i want to hurt him....... my head is full of flames. i dont know . theres something so raw about starting your debut album with a song where you reveal that anytime you think about a certain man, you lose sight of everything, you get tunnel vision, you can only think of all the ways you want to hurt him because hes hurt you so deeply. you hear his name and you get so filled with rage you cant see straight, hallucinating. and it feels like your mind is racing, burning with anger, madness... i waaaanntttt to hurt himmmm.... ;,(

hi :)
i haven’t played choices for a while & now i‘m actually overwhelmed by all the new books (looking at the covers & first chapter descriptions is one thing, but actually playing 🙈).
and bc i came to like your posts relatively quick (i’m all for criticizing popular books, especially if the hype was high & they just didn’t deliver, even though they had the opportunity) & the year is ending … what are your gems & flops of 2023? 🤔
Screw it let’s make this my year in review.
NOTE: Rating only books that have had a wide release:
Alpha — 8/10. Is it trashy? Well, yes! But also I’m having fun and enjoying it and I do like MC + Channing’s chemistry. Like, they had an intercrural sex scene. They said let’s have gay sex ancient city style.
The Billionaire’s Baby — N/A (didn’t play). I just… could not be assed.
Blades of Light and Shadow 2 — 7/10. I am being dead honest, a 7 is me being generous. The pacing was… bad. It was bad. There’s no getting around that. There was a distinct drop in writing quality that only became the fantasy epic we expect from Blades in the penultimate chapters. I think this book really suffered from Andrew no longer being the lead writer.
Crimes of Passion 2 — 6.5/10. Look it just didn’t excite me. It bored me at times. I don’t think MC ever was correct once throughout the entire book. Like, what kind of detective are you? At least I could be gay.
The Cursed Heart 2 — N/A. Considering there’s only one chapter released, I can’t really rate it, but I mean I liked it.
Dirty Little Secrets — 10/10. When the Choices world needed gay shit the most, this whore came in and gagged us. It’s fun, sexy, hilarious and amazingly well written. Whoever wrote the gay sex scenes was either a real gay dickpig or the only valid fujoshi. PB captures the voice of catty suburbia perfectly, and MC and Charles’ chemistry is amazing that I’m excusing this book for being a single LI one.
The Duchess Affair — 5.7/10. A patently ridiculous book, however it really struck a chord whenever the MC was trying to protect her little sister and gave it an actual heart. Those were the book’s best moments, however they can only make up for so much.
First Comes Love — 4.6/10. MC and most of the supporting cast annoyed me and it’s not like there was an exciting plot to pick up the slack. Not much more to say.
Getaway Girls — 6.8/10. It was a cute story! But I didn’t really enjoy how much we switched around with the other girls and think it should’ve focussed on the MC more.
Guinevere — 6.9/10. It really didn’t interest me but I can admit it’s probably one of the better written books of this year. That is a low bar to pass.
Kindred — 6/10. It was just squarely mid I’m not going to apologise.
Kiss of Death — 5/10. I was hoping they’d lean into the bad wattpad writing if it all, but they didn’t really. The CG of the LI in the first chapter made me cackle it was so ridiculous.
Roommates With Benefits — 3/10. Girl. FLOPTINA AGUILERA. A truly dumb MC. An unbelievably insufferable LI who isn’t even attractive enough to make up for how annoying he is. But what really cements this rating, the cardinal sin of all, is the god awful pet name the LI gave the MC. Baby bird. BABY BIRD? BABY BIRD? This just takes the cake of bad pet names.
Ship of Dreams — N/A (haven’t played). Honestly probably not gonna play it either. I think I’m kinda over most non-GoC books unless they’re truly stellar or interest me enough. I came for gay shit and I want gay shit and I’m not gonna get that from a genderlocked book :/
Surrender 2 — 2/10. What are we even doing here? Pixelberry, when did the hurt begin?
Let me know if I missed any cause I’m pretty sure I missed a few.

So I have this long-standing tradition where, after I finish a video game, I sit down and listen to the soundtrack outside of the game's context.
It serves as a sort of "conclusion" to the experience and simultaneously helps me evaluate the game as a whole a little better... After all the soundtrack is often what sticks with us long after we're done actively playing a game. It preserves the memories we've made along the way.
That means: I have finally found the FF Sixteen OST online in its entirety and could finally follow through with this tradition. (Debatable how much it applies considering I didn't actually play the game myself, but it felt necessary.)
The final missing piece to the pissbaby gamer rage essay. Significantly less raging this time, though.
It's okay. I don't love it. There's worse.
I had very unfavourable opinions of the OST during the game itself which might have been due to the overall pacing issues, where large stretches were filled with the same hub music and then everything bombastic all happened at once and either side of the coin was exhausting in its own way.
I still can't believe there are over 200 songs in the OST when I could have sworn I heard like. Maybe 10 or so during gameplay. A lot of it is very same-y. A large part of the OST can be split into "loud choir explosion" or "sad piano". There isn't a whole lot in between. Good for people who like it, not so much for me.
Which means my biggest issue is the very subjective "I just don't like the style". It's not a bad soundtrack, but I'm just really not a fan of the direction the music took. The battle themes are over the top (fair for the equally over the top DBZ kaijū battles, annoying with 3 wolves that show up on the side of the road). The calmer songs don't really hit right for me. No chord progressions or melodies that hook me. Unfortunate. I did however appreciate the electronic influences in the music when the alien baddies were on screen. (in this fantasy game that is based on medieval reality and that's why people of colour cant exi-)
I have also since learned that there isn't one acoustic guitar song that plays for 20 hours straight. There are like 6 or so that all sound the same. I don't know if that makes it better or worse. I hate them all. (I don't hate acoustic guitars. It's these songs in particular.)
That said - I was curious about which ones are people's favourite tracks of the OST and went checking those out in particular. Consistently in people's tops was Ascension and I can't deny that one's been plagueing (semi-endearing) my memory a bunch the past days. Probably the theme that stuck out the most to me while watching the game. If not the entire theme, then at the very least That Violin Part. If you know, you know.
You know what. If you don't know, here:
(footage stolen from here)
Like damn. Good rhythm going on there with the off beats. Also fits the relevant character nicely in terms of mood. And I like that the battle phase before this one has a more low-key version of this song playing before it goes into this full ham version.
I just kinda wish more of the battle music had been a bit more... this. A bit more... subtle. Like yes it slaps hard but this song legitimately feels calm in comparison to the other battle tracks. This drives me nuts.
There's one other song I keep getting stuck in my head which is one that plays fairly close to the end (in the final... "dungeon" (cutscene? sequence? QTE battle?)). I figured out today that I don't actually really enjoy listening to the song on its own but I like it in-game in combination with the voice perfomance. There's an interesting dissonance in it that blends super nicely with the voice acting. (I'm being held hostage by the game's voice acting. It's unfortunately way too good. Voice actors are once again holding too much power over me.)
Other than that... I have one final criticism. The prelude theme. We must. Leave it. Alone. Enough. It's fine playing once as a gimmick somewhere in the game (I do genuinely like the menu (pause screen?) arrangement) but having it woven into what seems like every 5th song feels like someone is smacking a sign into your face that screams "YOU ARE PLAYING A FINAL FANTASY GAME." Seriously it's unbearable. (Also I did take notice of the FF1 overworld theme being rearranged into a battle theme for the final segment of the game. I don't know why, but fine. Not complaining about that one.)
Overall it's a solid "mh" from me. Not the worst OST we've had in the series (thirteen trilogy exis-COUGHAGFNJKN) but definitely on the lower end for me. Not of bad quality, but not my cup of tea at all. Dark Souls III OST executed the epic orchestra choirs better somehow. More interesting composition. Spaced out better throughout the game. Idk.
Welp. Back to getting haunted by voices and violins now o/

501ST’S LEGION PLAYLIST
Songs they blast while committing war crimes with Anakin Skywalker
Captain Rex, Appo, Jesse, Echo, Denal, Dogma, Fives, Fox, Hardcase, Kix, droidbait, heavy, cutup, Cody, Boil & Waxer (Yes, I added some 212th attack battalion clones because I love them and, also the whole Domino squad is here because in my perfect word, they all made it to the 501st legion, shhh)
1-Gosthbusters-WALKED THE MOON
If there’s something strange in the galaxy, who you gonna call? 501ST LEGION. Honestly, this song fits their vibe perfectly, even if this playlist is a mere joke, I feel like they would listen to this religiously, specially the Domino squad.
2-Never Gonna Give You Up-Ricky Astley
When master Kenobi and Cody join them for a mission, they enjoy this song unironically, as well as Rex, tho he’s better at hiding it.
3-You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)- Dead Or Alive
Fives and Echo dance to this together, end of story.
4-I Want It That Way- Backstreet Boys
Fives learned the complete choreography and forced the rest of the 501st legion to do so, Obi-wan and the 212th attack battalion always watch the show and clap with proudness at the end, but Boil, Boil wonders how the fuck they’re still alive.
5-Payaso de rodeo- Caballo Dorado
Ahsoka leds the way, boss queen can dance to this in heels, she even adds the little spin, she be forcing everyone to stand up when the song starts playing.
6-Welcome to the jungle- Guns N’ Roses
So, Boil’s song, yes, can someone argue that? No.
7-U Can’t Touch This-MC Hammer
Music hits me so hard, makes me say “Oh my lord, thank you for blessing with a mind to rhyme and two hyped feet’- Ahsoka and Anakin sing to this together while the clones do dance break in the middle of the ship.
8-Who Let The Dogs Out- Baha Men
Jesse: WHO LET THE DOGS OUT?
Everyone else in the ship: ‘BARKS INTENSIVELY’
9-All Star-Smash Mouth
The idea of the tcw characters as the Shrek characters is quite a concept, Anakin is donkey, not arguing that either.
10-I’m Too Sexy- Right Said Fred
Kenobi hates this song more than anything, but that ain’t stopping Fives & Heavy from feeling their selfs.
11-The Ketchup Song (Aserejé) Spanish Version-Las Ketchup
So…Ahsoka knows Spanish and loves to sing music in that language (it haves noting to do with me being Mexican ofc…) So this is her solo, the clones and Anakin hype her up doing their little dancy dance.
12-Pump It-Black Eyed Peas
Dogma be loving this song, and no one can change my mind, also Ahsoka always sings the Fergie verse, no matter what.
13-A Thousand Miles-Vanessa Carlton
Is this a dumb headcanon with zero arguments? Yes, it indeed is, but no one will ever change my mind about it, waxer loves this songs and Kix sings and cries to it every time it plays, no one really knows why, but no one cares enough to ask.
14-Y.M.C.A-Village People
Kenobi use to sing this to Anakin when he was a child to make him feel better, he even thought him the dance, so whenever the song plays the whole ship turns to Obi-wan and expect him to do it.
15-Like a Virging-Madonna
Am I dropping more dumb headcanons about Kix? Yes, because he loves this song, but not as much as Anakin, Anakin breaks his vocal chords when it comes to signing it.
16-Wannabe-Spice Girls
Once, cut up said, ironically, that this was the song of 'The domino squad' however, heavy took it very seriously.
17-Barbie Girl-Aqua
Grupal song? group song! It’s so catchy that sometimes even Kenobi catches himself signing the ‘Come on Barbie let’s go party’ line, and even if he think no one has seen it, Cody always reply’s with the little ‘Ah ah ah yeah’
18-Dancing Queen-From ‘Mamma Mia!’ Original Motion Picture Soundtrack- Merly Streep
Please don't notice how obsessed I am with Ahsoka and her wholesome relationship with the 501st clones, Rex always sings this song to Ahsoka, along with the rest of the clones as a magnificent choir.
19-Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)-Backstreets Boys
Fives has a bit of an obsession with the Backstreet Boys, but Echo won't let him die alone, so he always sings the little 'Yeah's’ in the song so Fives won’t feel so alone.
20-Mambo No.5 (A Little Bit of..)-Lou Bega
‘A little bit of Appo in my life, a little bit of Jesse by my side, a little bit of Rex is all I need, a little bit of Kix is what I see, a little bit of hardcase in the sun, a little bit of Echo all night long, a little bit of Fives here I am, a little bit of you makes me your man’ And after coming out with that line at 3 am in the morning, Anakin knew it could’t get any better, once Kenobi heard it, he knew it couldn’t get any worst.
THANKS FOR READING!
If someone is interested on the playlist, here it is!
20 songs, 1 hour and 13 minutes long, best listened in shuffle

ur not being annoying at all! gimme some : 🎁 💕 🌻 📗 💭 💡 📚 🤖 💛 💌 🎨 (dont have to do them all, just do the ones you wanna!)
🎁 Have a piece of a WIP you want to share?
This needs to be heavily edited but this is from a sukufushi fic I've been veryyyy slowly working on:
Sukuna's heart stops as he catches sight of the person so delicately playing this score.
It's hardly even been a second since he's laid his eyes on him, but every cell in his body is already starving for more of him.
Sukuna swallows thickly, carefully taking in the scene unfolding before him. Long, coordinated fingers dance across the piano, hitting the keys with a grace Sukuna would have never imagined to be humanly possible. The pianist’s body moves to the rhythm of the [adjective] tune, dark strands of hair gently swaying across his forehead as [something more movement].
Their gazes finally meet, and Sukuna knows he's done for. His heart loudly thumps against his ribcage, threatening to burst through as green eyes further capture him into the moment they're sharing, driving him deeper into the shadows the pianist is painting with the [adjective] sound of his music. Sukuna feels as though he's lost in a sea of darkness, the glint in the pianist’s eyes [something akin to a lighthouse making him feel safe]. He lets the [adjective] chords (of the score? Of the music? Of the piece? Idk) crash against him like tidal waves, making him drift further from the shore.
💕 What is your favorite fic that you’ve written?
That's a difficult one, but probably sweetest blossoms, which I wrote for my friend Asa. I'm usually not into historical AUs but she requested one, and I surprisingly had a lot of fun writing it and look back on the process pretty fondly.
🌻 How often do you read your own fics?
Never tbh (unless proofreading to edit counts). If I read my own fics I would probably end up deleting them out of self doubt so I just let them sit there on ao3 for people to enjoy lmao
📗 Do you want to write something outside of fanfiction? If so, what about?
Not really, unless non-fiction books or articles about my professional field count.
💭 What inspires you and your writing?
It's mostly the media I consume that inspires me, whether it's music or anime/manga I'm watching/reading. Sometimes I'm also inspired by some stuff that happens to me irl or situations I'm in (there's a particular wip I'm working on that comes to mind when I say this, and if you end up reading it and know enough about me you'll probably catch it whenever I post that, lol).
💡How many WIPs do you currently have?
10 that I know for sure I'm not gonna end up scrapping. More if you count the ones that are on the fence, but I don't wanna go there 🤪
📚 Is there a fanfic or fanfic writer you recommend?
For Barakamon, I recommend ahknee (@misocucumber) always, especially this fic.
Other fics that have really stuck with me are run the red out by saltwreath for inuokko, the proper care of lilacs by teasomnia for sukufushi, anything by ietjesiobhan for haikyuu. And there was this one fake dating kuroken fic that I read a while ago, in which Kuroo and Kenma broke up years ago but never told anyone and get invited to kagehina's wedding and decide to pretend they're still dating for the occasion, but I can't remember the author or title and I don't have time to look for it rn, but that one stuck with me for a long time.
There are so many I'd like to recommend, I should really start coming up with rec lists.
🤖 Are non-fandom friends aware that you write fanfic?
Only my partner and a handful of online friends (i met them in anime circles i guess they could count as fandom friends as well, but they're not into it like that so idk)
💛 What is the most impactful lesson you’ve learned about writing?
That it doesn't need to be perfect on the first try, and that a draft is just that—a draft. You can always come back to edit it later and improve the things you don't like; that doesn't make you a bad writer or untalented, everyone does that.
💌 Is there a favorite trope you like to write?
Mutual pining with 2 idiots who think the other would never be into them
🎨 If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?
I honestly don't have a preference, if someone were to make fanart of my work I'd be eternally grateful regardless of the fic or scene the artist would pick!

supernatural s8e15 man's best friend with benefits (w. brad buckner, eugenie ross-leming)
i enjoy a good play on words as much as the next person but combining dog and sex for your episode name is an interesting choice
Tumblr media
well dang, indoor pool and sauna? i wanna go
DEAN 'Cause you did just gank a Hellhound, which is no slice of pie, and, uh, there is a mine field of who knows what crap ahead. Just want to make sure that you are okay. SAM I'm good. DEAN 'Cause, you know, we could find another devil dog. You could tag out. I could snuff the son of a bitch.
so i viewed this as him just trying to protect sam but now i see
Tumblr media
i've never had such shifting opinions on a tv person's hair like i do sam's. at least half the time i actively dislike it. at most 5-10% of the time, i think damn it looks good! this shot in particular was one of the special few. his hair is beautiful, the styling/cut is what lets it down when it does
i sure hope he's not hallucinating again because that'd be a cruel trick. hmm, also in my musings adjacent to fuckup vs righteous man, i've thought about how they show sam's suffering onscreen a lot (mystery spot [lol i won't let it go], hallucifer, whatever the trials shit is gonna be) but dean we get the emotional suffering aftermath. sidenote, logistically made sense for a whole bucket of reasons of course, but (for me, personally) thank goodness dean's hell experience was offscreen almost entirely.
sounds like padalecki is sick
Tumblr media
um. a doberman that transformed into a black woman. with the huge sparkly bright pink dog collar still on
and this white dude witch is her master?? wtffff. don't really care what backpedaling they do, that was a shitty choice
Tumblr media
DEAN Well, I'm concerned. SAM Concerned about the, uh -- the witch-killing spell... or that I'm gonna mess these trials up? DEAN Look, we get too far down the road with this, we can't go back, and it'll be too late for me to jump in. SAM Who says that you're gonna have to? You know, maybe I'll actually pull this one off. DEAN I'm just saying. SAM I know what you're saying, Dean. You've said it. You know, I've been going over this and over this, asking myself "why doesn't he trust me?" And it occurred to me, finally. It's not that you don't trust me. It's that you can only trust you. DEAN Are you done? SAM Yeah, I'm done if you're done.
ugh 💔 and to be so forthright telling him how he keeps asking himself why dean doesn't trust him. and the super quick "i'm done if you're done" response has such a particular flavor of... well. something i'm very familiar with. the vulnerability of showing that he's hurt over not being trusted, that it isn't just anger, and dean basically ignoring it.. feeling of inside, shut that shit down asap and move on. don't know what he was going for particularly but it struck a chord obviously for me
phillippe LeChat. 🥴
Tumblr media
????????
like, we can't have dean or sam fucking anyone at the moment so we're just gonna have these two do it. was there a sex scene quotient that needed to be filled?
episode title way more literal than i expected.
Tumblr media
DEAN I got to ask. I-I can't help but wonder -- PORTIA Which came first, dog or girl? DEAN Yeah. Yeah, I mean, I'm just curious as to which one you consider yourself, mostly. PORTIA This have anything to do with what I told you about James and me last night? How you're imagining it? DEAN What? No, that's... yes.
dean said (sentient) dogfucker rights?
SAM Oh, by the way, got to hand it to you. It's been 15 hours since Portia mentioned her night with James, and not one bestiality joke outta ya.
not for us though
Tumblr media
wonder how many times i miss that he's messing with the scar on his hand
Tumblr media
okay.
geez i shouldn't have mentioned onscreen suffering. and using the clip of dean calling out for sam from hell on the hooks..... extra rude.
DEAN Well, it's possible I was wrong. SAM What, about James? Dude, we were both ready to gank the guy. DEAN No, that's not what I meant. Back there, when Spencer had us. He screwed with my head. I saw mom… When she died… And then some other crap. SAM Yeah. Me, too. DEAN You know, when I look back at what our family's been through, what everybody's been through, seeing all that pain… I realize that the only way we've made it through it all is by hanging together. I trust you, Sammy. With this deal, locking those sons of bitches up in the furnace once and for all, it's too important not to. So if you say you're good... then that's it. I'm with you 100%.
i'm all ♥️♥️♥️ and then immediately sam hides he's coughing up blood. okay.
that's the thing with this show, the bad plot writing whatever episodes will still have some mushy fucking brother conversations i wouldn't want to miss! like the reviled bugs episode, that had some high quality brother content

15 QUESTIONS
Thank you for tagging me, @uncertainwallflower and @annabtg (who tagged me on my main blog @pennyrigby) 💜
1. Are you named after anyone?
No, my mum just loves greek mythology and liked the name Leda. It's a bit of a pain in the ass when I meet someone new and a) they never get my name right and b) they don't know the myth behind it. (Side note: I pronounce it 'Leh-dah rather than 'Lee-da')
2. When was the last time you cried?
Yesterday, watching a tv show.
3. Do you have kids?
No.
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Absolutely.
5. What's the first thing you notice about people?
Their voice.
6. What's your eye colour?
Brown.
7. Scary movies or happy ending?
Neither? I love thrillers but I wouldn't call them scary per se. I do enjoy a well made horror, like Hereditary, Midsommar, Us, Get Out, but mainly because they have great perfomances and great plots. Happy endings in movie are fine as long as they make sense.
8. Any special talents?
I play a bit of piano (self taught) but honestly, all I can do is learn and play the chords to songs I like. I sing too, but again, not well. I speak four languages and I'm trying to learn more, but I don't think of this as a talent.
9. Where were you born?
Italy.
10. What are your hobbies?
You know, the usual. Reading (mostly fics lately), writing (when inspiration strikes), listening to music and watching movies. As I said, I play the piano and sing too but only when I have the time which is almost never.
11. Do you have any pets?
A dog and a turtle.
12. What sports do you play/have you played?
I tried a few things as a kid (ballet, swimming, maybe volleyball?) but I've never felt any joy playing them, so I quit very soon. I don't think I'll ever be into sports.
13. How tall are you?
1,66 m which is, what? 5'4 or 5'5?
14. Favourite subject at school?
Probably English, or languages in general.
15. Dream job?
Never had one, still don't have one and I think that's okay. Honestly, i just want to get paid and have enough time to dedicate to my friends and my hobbies.
I'm tagging @prongsismyfave @lilyjamespotter @constancezin @redrobyn285 @blondelunaa @emeralddoeadeer @enigmaticemperor @thatsbitchcraft @agere-agender @leatheronvenus @cordovabox and whoever wants to do it 🤍

I saw you in my inbox and must immediately go to yours 🥺 Gotta ask you who your favorite Belcher is AND your top 10 favourite side characters 🤌
Oh no, you gave me another hard one! I guess this is going to be another long one, hahaha, get ready.
As for who my favorite Belcher is, that is so tough, almost too tough for me to answer because that changes for me every day, and I love all of the Belchers for very different, specific reasons. Tbh, I relate to all of them on some level. However, if I HAVE to choose, I will choose two, because I am still that indecisive.
I have to go with Linda as one because of her endless optimism and her constant singing spouts, because who hasn't wanted to break out into song like her every once in a while? Honestly, her outros for the show are the best. The one for "Wharf Horse" Part One? COME ON. She is just THAT girl, and she knows it--she is hilarious, she's honestly quite pretty (gotta love her in that blue dress she wore in "An Indecent Thanksgiving Proposal") and when you have her affection, she's with you for life, and will go to the ends of the earth for you. She will literally help you hide the evidence of a murder and go on the run for you, she is THAT loyal. Like, seriously, she planned what she would do to help Bob if he ever murdered Teddy, oh my god. And even just her support for the smaller things, like helping Bob with his dream to run the restaurant (okay, maybe this doesn't count as SMALL, but still). She is ALWAYS there to help him have a little light in his life when he needs it. She's always down to have a little fun and spice things up--I mean, who else would come up with "sexy cooking" and a "strip tease" on Valentine's Day? She's so freaking giving, to the point where it's even a detriment to her, as seen in "Terminilator II: Terminals of Endearment", where she let her mom walk all over her because thought that's what she needs to do as their daughter, which is not the case (I'm really glad Bob got upset about this for her, but I really wish she'd actually seen how terrible her parents are). I love all of her little quirks, and she is totally someone I would want to marry or at the very least be friends with irl. I think my Bisexuality is showing with this one, haha.
My second Belcher whom I love will probably be a much less popular opinion. I almost chose Tina for this one, but honestly, I have to go with Gene. He's the Belcher kid who's the most similar to Linda, so I guess that makes sense. I do sorta get why he's not everyone's favorite, but I just can't help but have the biggest soft spot for this guy. His jokes/one-liners are consistently funny, and he always provides the best levity when a scene needs it ("Nature boner!"). Plus, I really relate to his adoration of music even though he's actually not even good at it. Also, just him questioning his love of music was just super interesting overall. But his being objectively not great at playing chords doesn't even matter, because of his sheer passion--and it's this passion that led him to create the BEST songs in the entire show. I mean, "Electric Love"? "Work Hard or Die Trying, Girl?" "Turkey, I Need You Beside Me?" You love to see it. These all came from his unadulterated love for music, and I think that's kind of beautiful. I also relate a lot to his love of food, especially during the episode "Diarrhea of a Poopy Kid", where "Turkey, I Need You Beside Me" came from. I mean, I'm the kind of person who pays extra close attention to expiration dates and would never eat expired food (one of my pet peeves is actually when people say expiration dates are a myth), but the fact that all he wanted throughout the episode was to enjoy some of his dad's cooking with his family together on Thanksgiving is just... yeah, I feel that. It's also just so wholesome. Speaking of wholesomeness, I don't know, Gene just feels a little wholesome to me. Besides Tina, he's the nicest of the kids, and usually, despite his non-sequiturs and jokes, he just wants to do right by people, especially people like his dad, which he outright says in "Best Burger". Just him wanting Bob to be proud of him and not see him as a screw-up is so 🥺
Okay, this is already super long, oh god. Onto my ten favorite side characters!
1.) Gonna start out with Sergeant Bosco. I recently watched a compilation of him and remembered how much I love this guy, he's just so freaking funny. I love how he's a cop who's super incompetent and still gets the job done somehow--he's terrible yet great at his job, which is amazing. Especially loved how he tried to give advice on how Linda should do speed-dating in "My Fuzzy Valentine", and then almost arrested Linda for stealing his gun. And just his entire role during "Bob Day Afternoon", trying to take the phone from a screaming Louise, pffffft.
2.) Gotta mention Nat the Limo Driver! Mainly because she's LGBTQ+ and that's wonderful, love that for her. She hasn't appeared that often at all, but the few appearances she's made have been pretty great. I loved seeing her try to win her ex-girlfriend back, and her being super nice and trying to help find that darn ring in the waterpark during "The Ring (But Not Scary)". Also just the fact that she casually was transporting a snake to the aforementioned ex-girlfriend is hilarious.
3.) Regular-Sized Rudy, my beloved! He's so precious all around, I love him and everything about him. I adore how he's such an antithesis of Louise, being pretty much everything one would expect a typical fourth-grader is like, with the added bonus of unfortunately having asthma. He probably only gets a point taken away from being obsessed with Chloe Barbash, but it's fineeeeeeeee. I find the fact that he's a child of divorce super interesting as well, I don't think it'll ever get super explored, but some more on that would be cool, specifically how it's affected him mentally. He's definitely the kind of friend that Louise needs. Also shoutout to his stuffed flounder, Pancake.
4.) I have to acknowledge Gayle Genarro, Linda's younger sister. We all know Gayle. We all love to hate Gayle. Okay, hate is probably too strong a word, but she is just such an enigma of a human being that I kind of love it. Every time she's used, she's so funny and completely freaking unhinged. Sometimes it's hard to believe she and Linda are sisters, and other times it makes perfect sense. I love her saying that Linda is her "best friend and mortal enemy" in "The Pumpkinening". Honestly, that might be my favorite episode she's in. Well, besides maybe "Topsy" or that episode where she helped get Louise a filling at the dentist (I think it's "The Kids Run Away"?). But I just really like her in "The Pumpkinening" because of how close she and Linda are shown to be, and how she admits to actually loving Linda at the end. It's surprisingly a super sweet moment for this otherwise crazy, but lovable character. Everything about her and Mr. Business is top tier.
5.) Zeke! I don't know, there's something about this boy that's really grown on me over time, I want to give him some appreciation. His way of talking and his voice are so recognizable, and I love it, and I can't really explain why? But yeah, if Tina can't get with Jimmy Jr., I might just vote for her and Zeke to be a thing. I think that ship is actually getting to me, but I don't know yet. Anyway, I think we should learn more about his family history because it actually sounds really complicated and sad, yet interesting? Gotta love how much he adores his grandma and step-mom, Cheryl, that's really sweet. And him eventually being the mad pooper for Tina in "Broadcast Wagstaff School News" was great. Ooh, and learning that he has a perfect palate in "Bob and Deliver" was also great.
6.) You gotta love Teddy. He's Teddy, everyone's favorite iconic handyman (side note, that commission you did of him and Teddiursa the Pokémon was so adorable and perfect)! I NEED to know the backstory of how he met Bob and Linda, and how he fell in love with Bob's burgers. And also how it's possible that he STILL thinks their last name is Burger. He and Kathleen are actually a very sweet couple, and he's just a very loving person in general. Like Linda, he's so loyal until the end and will do ANYTHING for Bob and his family and the restaurant, even if he does get on their nerves from time to time. However, it's all out of pure love and respect for the restaurant. He's just so genuinely invested in all their lives, it can get a little weird sometimes, but for the most part, it's wholesome as heck. Love how he also got invested in the whole storyline Linda made up for the raccoons in their alley. And how he stood up for Tina when he babysat them in that one episode.
7.) Mr. Fischoeder is just... what a guy. I just saw the new April Fool's Day episode, and it made me love him even more. He's always hilarious and iconic all around, I mean, how can you not appreciate him? He doesn't seem like a great person to have as your Landlord, but just as a person, he's great. His rivalry with Felix will always be a great staple of the show, and the way he was so chill about almost dying at Felix's hands in the two-part Season 4 finale is so great. How many times has Felix attempted murder on him for him to be so calm about it? Just his random ideas in general, like in "The Oeder Games" and "To Bob, or Not to Bob" are great, as well as his overall presence. I will always love his singing in "Topsy". His Christmas song about Bourbon is top-tier, as is his outro song about being put into a volcano after he's gone so he can stay around in some sort of way.
8.) Okay, fine, I want to acknowledge Mr. Frond, too. Is he a terrible guidance counselor? Well, yes. But is he hilarious? Also yes. That brief time he dated Gayle was so strange yet so entertaining. That one scene where he made that poor kid, Nicholas, admit his deepest darkest secret because he wanted people to say if the hurricane was caused by "something bad they did"?? Oh my lord. His interactions with Louise will always be gold, especially when that one exchange where he says "You're in trouble" and Louise tells him to "Drink more cranberry juice" (Not "Urine Trouble!" >:( ). Also, his entire role in the "My Butt Has a Fever" short is perfection in terms of comedy. Him getting THAT upset over the song only to end up with it stuck in his head too and humming it later? Yup.
9.) Ms. Labonz doesn't have the right to be so funny. Why is she so funny? God. I love how she's just done with everyone 24/7, especially the aforementioned Mr. Frond, and her role in "Touch of Eval(uations)" is actually really nice. I love her telling Louise that she knows Louise is smart and capable, and just needs to apply herself more, and it ending with her getting that brand new parking spot is actually pretty well deserved. Also, she is definitely a heavy smoker. Might want to get your lungs checked out, Ms. Labonz, no offense.
10.) Consider this last space a tie between Hugo Habercore and Jimmy Jr. I couldn't go through this list without Hugo, because even though he is terrible (come on, man, chill for a second, let the Belchers live their lives in peace), man is he funny. His role in the pilot episode "Human Flesh" is iconic in and of itself, his lines are so quotable there. I'm honestly super curious about how he met Linda, and what their relationship was like while it was still going on. I'm also curious about how he became a health inspector and how he met Ron. Is it weird that I almost want him and Ron to have something going on? It sounds so random, and it is, but I don't know, he just needs someone to be with to get over Linda and be a happier/better person, and I like their dynamic. He did have that girl he went on a blind date with in "Romancing the Beef", but she's never seen or mentioned again. As for Jimmy Jr., this was a tough call. There were so many people I wanted to mention but couldn't (I mean, the Pesto twins, Courtney, Jocelyn, Mort, MARSHMALLOW--I'm so sorry I didn't put you on the list, Marshmallow) but I decided to go with Jimmy Jr. Your appreciation for him is rubbing off on me. The guy definitely needs to get better at actually committing (he IS at his worse in "V For Valentine-Detta") and I don't know if I want him to be the one for Tina, I don't think he should, but I don't know, whenever he has a genuine interaction with Tina, it just... ah. It kinda gets to me. It makes me wish he were better so they could actually just be a couple. Lord knows Tina has been wanting him long enough. Seriously girl. But yeah, I love his dancing and his general weird-but-doesn't-care-what-others-think-of-him vibe. Like in the movie when he tried to get a chicken nugget in his mouth just so he could say he did it. That's peak comedy. I love his role whenever he's in an episode, especially in "What About Job?" when Tina made him the villain just because he refused to share gum with her--he also is just a very entertaining villain. I feel like he's so close to being someone who Tina could be with, but is never right there. Oh well.
Side note: Him asking Tina on a genuine frozen yogurt date in the April Fool's Day episode is actually so sweet, what the heck.
This got way too long oh no. I hope you're able to read all of this and get some enjoyment out of it! I tried to condense it but found I had way too many thoughts on these characters. I love them all so much. I probably forgot to mention a few things and made a few mistakes, but here it is.

To anyone who hasn’t gotten beanfest Floyd or just now simps for him when his event version appears, this is for you!
Haven’t write in a while so might sound and look noob.
(Also sorry I didn’t post it sooner! Finally graduated and now trying to get my life sorted out. Enjoy!)
Ever since you gotten the game on your device, you played every rhythm game and fight scene to compete each mission nonstop for a long time.
You loved the songs and the way each character had a role of its own and you even loved how the story surprised you at its storyline than what you expect. It made you feel supreme and unstoppable whenever you play.
That was until the recent event came.
Your favorite character that you took interest during the game was having a SSR card of himself and you wanted him bad, like “I want my pony mommy!” bad! Sure there could be another event where you would have a better chance, but you wanted to see your fav character smile and see him interact with you in the main menu! Wanting to know what kind of speech bubble lines they will say to you!
But it was way too hard for you and that suck very much.
It upsets you that you get the same character every card draw ( sorry rook) and it pisses you off more that you were wasting gems just because you wanted to get this silly eel twin boi not because he were strong as hell or because he was a rare event character: ITS BECAUSE YOU SEEM TO BE SIMPING FOR THAT EEL BOI!!!!!
Here you were sitting on your bed, criss cross apple sauce, while playing a ton of rhythm games and weekly missions to do the 10 draw cards again to see if your luck was giving you a chance this time, until you felt yourself being engulfed by two strong arms around your shoulders behind you.
A groan is heard from your left ear along with a whine next.
“Shrimpy!!~~ Come play with me!!!”
“Sorry Floyd!” You said with a apologetic voice, not even giving him any of your attention while your eyes were preoccupied by your phone screen, “I’m in the middle of completing a mission to earn 5 gems right now. If I get 10 more gems, I could do another draw and pray or cross my fingers that I can get my favorite character this time!”
Floyd didn’t seem to like your comment at all and then laid next to you, pouting the whole time while looking at your face.
“What could be more important than looking at me?~”
“For starters this game I’m doing right now Floyd!” You said with a serious tone this time. “This game has a event that one of my favorite characters are a SSR card and he looks so gorgeous with his smirk! I heard that once you awaken him, he has a more soft loving look and I want someone like him to stare at me like that!!!” You squealed while giggling the entire time.
At this point, Floyd didn’t know if he should break your phone or take it away and just hide it from you forever cause wow rude.
“You do realize I’m here right shrimpy? I can easily look at you like-“ he sighed. “Whatever, if you won’t pay attention to me” he said while sitting up and wrapped his arms yet again but this time around your waist. “I’ll just bother you till you do!~”
“Yeah yeah good luck with that-“ you were doing your 10th um probably 12th draw maybe and hopefully getting your SSR card you worked so hard for.
Rare card. Ok so far so good.
Rare card. Ok seems going off a good start-
SR card of hunter. wait no-no no no no nO NO!
You pushed Floyd’s arms away and pushed your face on a pillow your grabbed and screamed into it till your vocal chords became sore maybe. Cause why?! You were so close and yet the event ends in 3 days!! There way no way you could earn gems let alone buy gems. Sure, you can but you have the type of parent who doesn’t believe in buying on App Store for games or items in games. So you were practically screwed.
“Aww is my little fishy all sad they didn’t get their dream card?~” Floyd teased while you still had your face in your pillow. “Want me to help cheer you up?”
“Nah it’s ok” you replied without the pillow smush in your face which granted Floyd a view of your messed up front hair and depressing look. “I’m probably gonna get over it in like a week or something.” You mumbled to him while laying down, laying your head on your other pillow that doesn’t look like it was untouched.
Floyd isn’t dumb. He knows you are the type of people that get excited over things for a while and sometimes you’ll forget about it in a month or sometimes shorter. He never wonders why and though it was childish, then you commented on how it was childish of him to get mood swings on the wrong times and think of not to be responsible for it actions, like example, the time he was playing basketball and he did so well for the first half…until he left cause he was bored.
He didn’t talk to you for like a week until he came back happy and asking to hang out with him at lunch. It proves your point.
Anyways, he lays down on the bed and turns towards you. Seeing as that you are staring at the ceiling instead of him, he touches your cheek with his left hand and guides your direction towards him with the help of his arm. He wasn’t smiling when you look at him with both eyes but he had a small grin. Well more like a flat line with a small twitch of a curve, but it’s similar.
“Look idk how you love something so fast and then claim you’ll forget about it but all I know is that Shrimpy has me and I’ll be your everyday supporter when you see me!~” He says while shaking his sharp teeth. “And I’ll conversant with my Shrimpy until comes a day when you feel happy again!~” he says and then hugs you again for like the third time. This time you finally respond to it correctly and put your head on his shoulder. “Thank you Floyd.” You replied “It helped a bit.”
“No problem!~” Floyd responded while looking so consistent in your relaxed face and not commenting on where you phone was or how he knew so much about your ability to take interest in things and forgot them immediately.
Maybe he heard it from someone you thought.
Yay I’ve finally finished this! Man I wasted so many gems trying to get Floyd when all I got was another rook! It’s not that I don’t like him but I’ve already had him so why would I need another?! Anywho this is the only favorite Floyd outfit I have of him expect the lab coat one.
Tumblr media
This is the only Floyd SR card I have of him and I want a event version of him cause he would probably look beret pretty in it like he does with this one! Anywho hope this was good enough for you guys! Maybe I could make another account on tumblr and use that to make fanfics. What do you guys think?
