“Y/n, please not now,” Jungwon sighed and closed his eyes, a frown painting on his face. “Next time let me know you want to come pay a visit, I really appreciate it but I have no time right now,” he continued and didn’t wait for your response.

You stood as you were in the empty hallway of Hybe. Feeling like your heart had been stabbed you just bit your lower lip and lowered your head. You took slow steps towards an elevator, overthinking once again.

“Is this it? He’s had enough of me it’s evident. Does he still love me?” you asked yourself when another side of you spoke: “Of course he does. He’s probably stressed about his comeback and has a lot on his mind, just like he said.” You tried to reasonably convince yourself, but sad to say, the first voice seemed more plausible.

With a flooded mind, full of thoughts of your relationship. When was the last time he hugged you? Kissed you? Told you he loves you? You couldn’t recall anything like that in the last few weeks.

When you finally reached home you had let out all the emotions and thoughts by crying loudly.

Hours passed by quickly, and more possibilities why Jungwon behaved like he did coming up one after another.

“I’m back!” You heard Jungwon close the door, making you realize how much time has passed.

Thinking about whether you should confront him about your concerns you quickly gathered all the thoughts about his recent behavior.

“Jungwon we need to talk.” Your voice was soft but serious at the same time. You finally looked at him, already seeing reluctance in his eyes and overall facial expression.

“Y/n, I have no time and energy to do that now,” he spoke slightly annoyed.

“Well, that’s what I want to talk about. You and all the ignoring me. You never have time for me,” you said and crossed your arms.

“Gosh, I don’t have time for anything!” he exclaimed. “I don’t have time to go home and see my family, I don’t have time to call any of my friends, I don’t have time to think about anything apart from this comeback!” You heard how he was gradually losing his patience by the way he spoke. “You think I want this?”

“Honestly? Yes, I do think so,” you announced and your words took him aback.

Jungwon couldn’t really understand your point of view. It wasn’t the first comeback you experienced together, so you certainly knew how many responsibilities lay on him as the leader of the group during that time. Just when he was about to respond you continued.

“You don’t even try to make time for me! Can you even recall when was the last time you hugged me or kissed me? When was the last time you said you loved me?” Tears started to brim in your eyes and threatened to spill with every word you spoke. “It made me doubt if you even love me anymore.”

Your last words were all it took to untie the knot of emotions that tightened in him. You watched Jungwon break down momentarily and didn’t know what to think. Was it too much?

“And when was the last time you hugged me or kissed me, Y/n? Throughout all the comeback preparations I didn’t hear any word of support or encouragement from you, none!” He spoke, choking on his tears, making guilt slowly rush through all your body. “You don’t feel loved, but when will you realize that affection works both ways? I also want it. And I need it just like you do, maybe even more.”

His cries made everything clear. You felt extreme guilt watching and listening to him. Everything seemed to be crystal clear now. It helped you realize that not only you didn’t receive any love during the last weeks, but Jungwon also didn’t either.

Instinctively you took slow steps toward him and wrapped your arms around his body, expecting him to push you away. Instead, he pulled you even closer to him and cried even harder burying his face in your neck. You let your tears fall down your cheeks. You were now crying messes, both from strangled emotions and feelings and from finally finding comfort in each other's touch.

“I’m so sorry, Wonie,” you whispered. “I was overthinking everything and didn’t realize it wasn’t you pushing me away, but it was me drifting apart from you.”

“I’m also sorry.” Jungwon pulled away to take a look at you with his bloodshot eyes. “I’m sorry for not making time for you and for lashing out at you, I should’ve talked to you calmly.

“No, Wonie, I think both of us needed that,” you reassured him and both of you smiled at each other. You laid a soft peck on the corner of his lips only for him to capture your lips in a sweet, lingering kiss.

“I love you, so much,” you spoke laying your head on his shoulder.

Trying something new…

TF2 mercs with a reader experiencing a panic attack. Gender neutral.

This has Engie, Medic, and Scout, cuz I love those three especially. Not sure if I can do requests, but I could try.

Notes: I’ve never had the pleasure of actually playing the game because my technology is very limited (one day…), but I love the characters. If my writing for the mechanics is wack, that’s why.

I also know it would be hard to have a panic disorder and be a mercenary, but I feel like it could still happen sometimes. They’re still human.

Warnings: descriptions of panic attacks and other mental health ailments that may be associated with them, including dissociation, hyperventilation, insomnia, and hallucinations.

Engineer:

-You had been forced into a corner. Inching closer and closer to respawn by the second.

-How many more hits could you take? You weren’t sure. But you didn’t want to go through that again…it had happened so many times…maybe you truly were losing your touch.

-The breath hitched in your throat, and tears threatened to spill down your face. Please…please just leave me alone…!

-A voice crooned from just behind him. The sadistic grin was wiped off your attacker’s face as he received a bright bolt of light to the back of his head, slumping over with a thud.

- “That’s just about enough a’ that, son.” Engineer, with the Short Circuit still smoking, looked down at you. “Ah…” Even with his eyes covered by his goggles, you could see the pleased smirk drop immediately as he retracted the weapon.

-Maybe it was the visible concern, maybe it was the fact that you didn’t have to be in fight or flight anymore, but the dam broke. You couldn’t breathe, every attempt at getting air came out in sharp gasps, audibly sobbing.

-“C’mere, darlin’…how bad did he getcha… Whoa—”

-You clamped your arms around him when he went to help you up, holding for dear life as your face quickly became slick with tears. “T-too close…I, I almost…oh my gosh…”

-Engie went rigid for a moment, clearly not expecting the sudden grasp, not knowing what to do.

-Machines, those he knew how to fix. But to find one of his closest teammates broken down crying in his arms, shaking like a leaf… how could he fix that? Could he…? Surely, surely he could. He would. That was his job!

-Slowly, warmly, two strong arms wrapped around you, stroking your shoulder with his thumb.

-“Now, now, honey…don’t you cry, I got ‘em for ya. And if anyone lays another finger on ya, they’re gettin’ a wrench to the dome, hear me?” You nodded quick, curling your head into his shoulder.

-“Let’s get you outta here, we’ll find the doc together, patch you up. Up ya go…”

-Assuming you didn’t start walking by yourself, he did his best to smoothly transfer you out of the embrace and into a close carry.

-You still struggled to catch your breath, and as he picked his pace up, you rested your head against his chest.

-Feeling his voice reverberate, you heard him humming the song he’d been softly singing the other night. The same one you had fallen asleep to. Trying to soothe you, in his own sort of way.

Medic

-Burning. Burning all over. That’s all you remember. You’d dropped your guard…there was just a Pyro and a Scout left, and you’d ended up completely burned.

-As you were brought back, you found that you couldn’t stand.

-Medic hurried up to you as you dropped to your knees, MediGun in hand. “Ah, wunderbar (wonderful)! I have saved a charge just for you, let’s go finish—oh. (Y/N), was ist los (what’s the matter)???”

-You grasped at your arms, your legs, you swore you could still feel the flames licking at you. Your breathing sped up, feeling your heart pounding in your ears.

-Medic may have had his license revoked, but he still knew exactly what this was.

-As you tried to get up and listen to what he had been telling you to do, he immediately stood in front of you. “Nein, I cannot in good conscience let you go back out right now. Bitte (please), (Y/N), sit down.”

-Plunking yourself right back down on the floor, you fought hard against the tightness that was forming in your throat. “That…that freaking sucked…”

-“I know that it did.” Out of the corner of your eye, you saw him moving to put an arm around your shoulder, giving you a moment to back away if you needed to.

-He seemed surprised when you instead leaned against him, trying your best to keep yourself together.

-“Oh! …ah, Liebe, that is not one you recover from quickly. Sit still…it’s okay.”

-The doctor reached over and softly ruffled your hair, his touch surprisingly gentle. A few tears escaped your eyes, but you were beginning to catch your breath again.

-“I know I was a bit strict, but…sending you out like this could easily get you killed again…and we do not want that.”

-Medic stared daggers towards the direction of the scent of smoke. How dare they set you ablaze. He’d make sure to take them out in pieces…

-The thought of bloodshed nearly drove him to his feet, almost hungry for it, but as he looked at you, he dropped his shoulders. We can get revenge later. They need me right now.

-“Liebe, listen. Don’t work so hard, alright? It’s no good for your heart… There will be hell to pay for that…for now though...stay here. And I’ll stay too, if it helps. I just healed everyone, I think they’ll be good.”

-You glanced up at him. “Are you comfortable like this?” He rolled his eyes wearily, but chuckled.

-“Me? I’m just fine.”

Scout

-The enemy Spy had been absolutely unrelenting for the last few days. Nowhere was safe. Nowhere at all.

-You were so anxious about going back to that the next day that it was even beginning to mess with your sleep. You swear you saw shadows moving, eyes in the dark…the lack of sleep only made it worse.

-Every encounter with that menace ran through your mind, playing on repeat as you stared at the ceiling. Finally, you decided to give up on sleep and go back downstairs.

-Upon seeing a shadow standing in the darkness, you couldn’t help but stumble backwards with a gasp, fumbling for a weapon that wasn’t anywhere near you.

-“Whoa! Hey pal, whatcha doin’ up right now?”

-The voice was clearly that of the Scout…or maybe that was what he wanted you to think.

-Unable to catch your breath, you ended up with your back to a wall, hands up in front of you in a panic. You saw Scout through your fingers—and quickly-accumulating tears at the corners of your vision. He looked…worried. Extremely so.

-Scout was confused, not atypical for him. But why were they so afraid? He hadn’t been too loud, had he? “…(Y/N)…it’s me, Scout. Jeremy. Ya…ya don’t gotta be scared. I’m sorry…didn’t mean ta scare ya.”

-Your hands visibly shook as you looked at him, desperately searching for some sign that could tell you if this was real or fake. “…you’re the real one…?”

-Oh. They were scared about the Spy…that scared? He’d noticed they’d been acting way different.

-“It’s the real me, (Y/N). Ain’t no freakin’ Spy gettin’ in here with me around. I’d never lie to ya, so please…”

-Somehow this did the trick. You fell apart, crying into your hands, which were cold and clammy at this point, ashamed of your own fear. “I’m sorry! …I’m sorry…”

-“Hey…it’s okay, I gotcha…” Scout knelt down in front of them, holding his empty hands out. Maybe if they see I’m not armed, it’ll help?

-You felt a gentle tap on your knee. Pulling one hand back, you found Scout holding his own out to you. “C’mere a sec.”

-Taking his hand, his fingers carefully intertwined with yours. You could feel the roughness around his palm from the constant grip on his bat.

-His eyes were bright, even in the dark. “That Spy? He’s a wuss, ya hear me? All talk. And next time we go up against him, we’re gonna send him back to his base pissin’ himself and cryin’ for his ma, cuz nobody messes with us, right?”

-You couldn’t help but crack a smile as he tried to rally you, in the carefree cocky way he always did. “Y-yeah…that’s right.”

-“You know it! We’ll win, we always do! And if he gets anywhere near you, I’ll whack his friggin’ lights out, so don’t you worry, doll! Not out there…and not here.”

Okay, so I'm writing things from Sky's perspective for the first time in what feels like years (maybe it has been years? the last notable Sky POV I can remember is from Feathered which I finished I year and a half ago) and I have thoughts!

Legend is not the person who resents the goddesses. My boy is literally besties with Din and Nayru, probably Farore too. Who knows about his thoughts on Hylia honestly, but you know who is salty about Hylia? Sky. Sky is so salty about Hylia. The goddesses toyed with him and Zelda like puppets with no cares for how it would destroy them, only that it would turn out how they want. Hylia is the definition of "end justifies the means" in Sky's mind, and he resents her for it.

Sky does not appreciate anyone making any implications that he is dating Hylia, in love with Hylia, or anything of the sort. My man will throw down with anyone who tries to say that Zelda is Hylia. They are two different people, thank you very much! His brothers are not him, and Hylia' incarnations are not her.

Sky finds relief in the Chain because he is not the only hero anymore. On skyloft, he's now an important person, a hero and not just a knight. He did not sign up for this, he's fresh out of school and he is overwhelmed by the expectations and responsibilities that come from being the hero. Being with the chain is a relief because they're all heroes too.

Sky is experiencing burn-out. The sleepiness? Yeah, that's the burn out, Gifted kid burn-out maybe, maybe just exhaustion from the expectations on him, but it's burn out. he's glad no one gets on him for it now. The others laugh at it a bit, but no one thinks he's lazy and it's nice to be allowed to have his rest without consequences now.

Sky is more used to talking to Fi than anyone else, so he's developed certain ticks and cues that he used on Fi to express things (like asking her to stop talking or to redirect her when he wa suncomfortable), but which don't translate as well to talking to Hylians. Most of this is because it involves fidgeting with his sword, not an acceptable method of communication between friends.

To continue the above, Legend, who also talks to Fi, DOES catch some of the ticks because he uses them too. Different, yes, but they're both pretty similar on that front (to the point it's nostalgic for Fi when she talks to Legend because he reminds her of Sky). Does this mean that they understand certain cues the others don't even notice? Yes. They don't even realize they're doing it but it's part of how they've learned to get along already; because they use similar communication styles that no one else does so it adds a whole different level of easier communication between them.

Sky has trouble with communication with Time specifically. he's wary about discussing some topics (their adventures, the goddesses, his sword) but also just struggles to read Time in general.

Sky admires Twilight's connection with Epona and views their dynamic the same way he would a fellow knight and their loftwing.

Sky is a bundle of unresolved and unprocessed issues that he hides under soft smiles and copious amounts of affection.

That's all for now, but yeah. Sky's got more depth than I'd initially thought and my gosh this boy has so many emotions? So many issues too, I don't know if he'll be recognizable compared to the sweet sleepyhead I usually write him as, but I kinda like him being more... mature? Aware? I like him being like a real young adult still finding his feet in the world :)

So I've finally finished Bloodhounds (+ ahjussi collection)

...and I have no idea where to start and what to say and how to feel.

No, wait, please hear me out.

It was b l o o d y and at parts a very difficult watch, as it has lots of explicit fighting scenes, which look extremely realistic and cruel. So cruel that I had to close my eyes and not watch, I even skipped many & i'm not sorry. However, there are also parts so heartwarming that it makes you forget about all the crimes and gore for a moment. So, it's up to you to decide if it's worth the struggle. Since the violence could be a bit too much for many, let's just say I do and don't recommend this one at the same time. Personally, one of things I greatly enjoyed is the subtle comic tone of Gun-woo's and Woo-jin's interactions with each other and their characters which represent people doing sports professionally so well, the purity of their hearts and lack of malice in everything they do, since they truly do live for the sports. Then there are two absolutely powerful and skillful young women, Hyeong-ju and Da-min, playing such important roles in the entire series, each of them individually contributing so much to the entire plan of bringing the bad guys down and saving what could still be saved. And also, one of the most enjoyable parts were definitely the bonds that came out of these newly formed friendships. Younger acting crew did an amazing job. In comparison to the older and experienced ahjussi crew (I'll get to them in a bit), they've got some serious talent. It must have been a huge undertake for both Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi to live up to the expectations of the entire team behind this drama. And they did it. They absolutelly slayed.

If you still haven't watched this drama, trust me when I say these two cinnamon rolls will instantly win your heart right at the beginning of the first episode. They're like the most perfect two besties you'd want to be besties with too. And yeah, you'll suffer thru all the horrors just to see them win the biggest battle of their lives. Gosh, every time I tried typing something coherent about them it just ended up being lots of crying shaking throwing up. They're the best, ok? And this is best I can do. ╥﹏╥

And while our marine boys scratched so many itches around this platform, I have to mention the absolute gentlemen that starred in this series and swept me off my feet *deepest sigh ever*

So many great actors took part in Bloodhounds, it's hard to believe my own eyes at times. Whoever was in charge of the casting did a killer job. I couldn't even take the bad guys seriously because they're freakishly handsome. Well, at least not until Kim Myung-gil brutally ended my favourite ahjussi trio damn you ep 6

What started as an obsession over two young marine guys and their bromance ended up as a hole in my heart over downfall of three middle aged criminals men and a will to trade all the money and gold bars for their lives. And more importantly, a huge appreciation for Korean actors over the age of 40.

No, let's be real. They're handsome and talented and great at their job and deserve all the love and support. With that in mind... here's a tiny screenshot dump because it would be a shame not to post it:

And I want to be normal about them and move on in peace but *internal screams* I've already mentioned Lee Hae-young in one of my earlier posts, addressing my obsession with the character he portrays, the sushi restaurant owner Hwang Yang-jung. And I know many people are obsessed with him too. But no one is speaking up. Which is silly. And tbh I really thought there would be more gifs of him and other men but...there's close to none? Can we talk about how fine this man is? How fine this whole ahjussi crew is? Can we... can we just acknowledge they sliced us all in tiniest pieces possible and burned us all till we turned into charcoal? Can we make a mess of kdrama side of tumblr by excessively posting about them? Pretty please?

It's true, I came for the boys, but stayed for these men. I'm not even joking when I say kdrama has me in a chokehold again, but this time for a whole new reason. Dropping everything just to watch series and movies these guys took part in sounds like the best idea at the moment. I even forgot about the new releases I started watching, which makes me laugh at myself, but... it is what it is. At some point, a girl just has to obsess over her favourite ahjussi, and that's okay.

Maybe More People Are Arospec, 2/3 -So explain the note from slide 5 : As a gray-aro, I want to clarify that most with this label experience gray-aromanticism differently. I can only speak for my own experiences, which is that I don't experience romantic attraction but (in the past) have experienced something that was close enough/briefly maybe the real thing (?) that I can know when attraction ISN'T romantic. (You can read more in my "Squishes vs. Crushes" comic by scrolling down further on my page 🐸) I’m only including this point because this ACTUAL conversation illustrates how much arospec people get told what we’re feeling, even when (in my case at least) we clearly know otherwise.

Which, speaking of - there are SO MANY MOMENTS in this part of the comic that are reinterpretations of things that I've genuinely experienced 😫😫 Sometimes I wonder what took me so long to accept my aromanticism, and moments like what I showed, especially the speech bubbles in the second last slide - gosh. There's a lot to unpack there 🙃 I think if there’s one thing that really surprised me to realize as I made this series, it’s the amount of casual arophobia that’s just … woven into so many stories and common ideologies. And though there’s a lot of work that needs to be done on that front, I will say that on the bright side realizing my identity has allowed me to confront and start to unlearn these harmful sentiments. Like actually understanding it’s not my FAULT that I’m arospec, nor is the expression of my aromanticism a fault of any kind to begin with - it’s really helped improve my mental health these past few years 💚💚

i very much relate to the feeling, anon, HVSKJFVKSDHFS

but oh my gosh i adore this ask because u hit the nail on the head on what like, their core internal conflicts are, respectively. definitely not their only conflicts, but these ones are ones that i see as the driving force behind a lot of their actions. for marius, it's the constant struggle of "can i trust you?", for luke it's his lack of self worth and the resulting neglect of his own safety/needs/desires coming from it.

before i answer the questions tho i wanna say first that those two issues do stem from core Wants that theyve got (and i wanna say this first cuz it will tie into my answers/thoughts HAHA).

like, marius is always cautious and holding his cards and heart close to himself not just because of all the betrayals hes experienced and in general the Life He Lives (though that is a Huge factor), but also because it's connected to his want for honesty, earnestness, and genuineness. though these two are interconnected, it's not a Which Came First, The Chicken Or The Egg situation (or in this case….Which Came First, The Yearning Or The Trust Issues? JHVKSJDFH), they exist simultaneously and feed into each other. he wants, he has trouble receiving what he wants because of his fears but his fears are also put into higher gear because of how Much he wants, and in turn the lack leads to his desire gets magnified and the stakes for his fears getting even higher as well. aaaand all this gets further complicated when u throw in marius’ low view of himself as well (while it’s not as prominent/delved-into in canon as luke’s, it’s Very Much There, see this past analysis i did about marius and emotional distancing which is the most recent analysis i did i think on the topic)

meanwhile with luke, his propensity to put others before himself always is in partly caused by how lowly he sees himself (if hes worth nothing and others are worth more, then he should be the ones taking the blows or enduring the pains), but Both those things are ultimately caused by his desire to Be Good and Do Good for Another. “for Another” is a key phrase here, because luke imo is driven by devotion. it has to be someone else. and if he sees himself as bad, then the good thing to do is to neglect himself, and a better use of his life is to serve Another that he Sees as good. like marius, this is all interconnected too. his want to do good feeds into his self sacrificial tendencies, his low view of himself allows him to do more of what he perceives to be good, etc etc. tho of course, with luke, theres the whole obvious glaring sign that what he Perceives to be good isnt good at all (ex. when he becomes overprotective to the point of taking away choice/agency from the very person hes protecting, protection becomes presumptuous condescension, and this all gets in flux since goodness is subjective based on whos lens ur looking from) but at the end of the day thats a bulk of whats driving a lot of decisions.

now when things get to romantic relationship, both these respective desires seen through the lens of romantic love can be reworded into:

for marius, it’s “do you love me? can i trust that your love is real? are you telling the truth when you say im worthy of love?”

and for luke, it’s “am i good enough for your love? have i earned it? will i allow myself to believe i’ve earned it when you say i have?”

NOW back to ur question. i personally dont think this is an Either Or situation, i think it’s a Both Simultaneously kinda thing.

cuz first off, change can only happen when the person who has to do the change actively works on it. no amount of support system can do it for the person if the person themselves isnt putting in the work. BUT input from another Helps very much, especially with mariluke imo cuz like……..these two are two sides of the same coin. so many of their insecurities and fears and wants are similar. not Exactly the same, but similar enough that i think they get each other on a really personal level

(sidenote im coming in with another song but i tell everybody who has the misfortune of listening to me that “just like i do” by loveless is THE mariluke song for me because….come on

heres how they can help each other:

marius keeps his heart behind tall and strong walls because of how his world works and how his life has gone, yet all he yearns for is sincerity. and luke gives that in full earnestness, and is probably surprised by how much that means to marius.

marius: "and it feels like i dont know who to trust sometimes"

luke: "i'll be the magic you won't eve see / you can always rely on me")

luke wears his heart on his sleeve, on the arms that are always fighting for whoever or whatever hes devoted to. luke keeps secrets, yes, but thats mostly in regards to how he sees, treats, and values (or rather, doesnt value) himself. but marius, who is trained in the art of putting up a mask or building a fortress to hide, would see through luke’s secrecy and see how badly luke treats himself under the guise of being good for others to be worthy of love.

marius: "i need to get a hold of you now")

luke shows what marius wants and marius sees what luke hides; both of these things, one way or another, calling attention to both of their respective internal conflicts.

i dont think they fix each other, or rather thats not how my personal ideal view of how their relationship goes. i think they see each other.

and in seeing, they learn more about themselves and realize that part of loving another person is also in bettering one’s self. marius loving luke more than hes afraid of getting hurt. luke loving marius more than how he wants to hate himself.

they both realize that the internal issues theyve got are not okay, and that they need to work on it. but they realize that once understood by the other and once realizing that their love is more important to them than fear or hatred.

OH BOY DO I- (definitely no projection, yeah none at alllll /s)

1. He speaks multiple languages and no one will ever hear him speak them unless absolutely necessary, he primarily speaks English (obvious reasons), Spanish (obvious reasons), some French (certain historical reasons) and some Czech (a large amount of slavic immigrants)

2. He has some really shitty mental health that he refuses to address out of fear of being perceived as weak. Austin might be the only reason he isn’t completely neglecting his own mental health.

3. Speaking of Austin, I feel like Texas had a huge amount of denial regarding finally accepting the existence of Austin. He also has a huge fear of being seen as an equal to Austin because in his mind Austin is of less value because he perceives himself as the original, providing him with a significant fear of acknowledging any trauma or mental health struggles he’s been experiencing.

4. He has dark brown eyes however they do tend to change colors slightly depending on his environment, especially in the sun light as they shift hue to a shine of gold, as well as having a faint tint of blue while around blue bonnets (his state flower).

5. He plays the violin however calls it his fiddle because the word violin sounds far to northern for his taste.

6. Grew up with undiagnosed ADHD was constantly being told to: “Stop moving around like that!”, “Quiet down for once!”, “Will you just shut up?”, “Pay attention!” which was heavily internalized later on in life causing hun to suppress a lot of his emotions out of the lingering memory of being scolded for simply not purposefully conforming to what others wanted him to be.

7. King of the hill. All time favorite show. He has a blue lacy (Texas’s state dog) named Ladybird after Hank Hill’s dog.

8. I can see him really really liking cold brew for some reason????? Like straight cold brew, not even diluted with water. I can also see him severely enjoying really sweet coffee but keeps it a secret or finds a way to “Texan” like caramel frappuccinos or some shit ykwim.

9. He has taught serious classes on how to make good ice tea because he becomes infuriated when he sees people doing it wrong.

3. How do they put themselves to bed at night (reading, singing, thinking?)

Kas settles down to rest by trying to quiet their thoughts and distract themself. They count the stars or watch the branches of the trees swaying. They listen to the little sounds of the people around them: Karlach snoring, Gale sleep talking, Withers softly clacking about his nightly tasks, Scratch whining in his sleep. Sometimes they sing or hum if they're struggling, or they hug themself for comfort.

Rest never comes easily for Kasander. Many nights they give up trying to get to bed and go somewhere quiet to practice lyre until they're too tired to stay upright.

27. What causes them to feel dread?

Their father. Always their father. They have an unspeakable fear of him, something that threatens to drown them. Even while they can't put the past back together they dread his presence instinctively, and learning more about life before the Nautiloid sends an icy jolt through their body. The shape of their entire life was determined by their father's attempts to break Asperia to his will, and there's so little of their past without his stain on it. Every caretaker his servant, every friend a puppet or a victim. Every lucky moment or new connection poisoned. And for a time without being able to understand what they fear or why, they began to feel a sense of dread at themself as well- without control and with every new revelation making them more dangerous than the last, it's hard not to fall under the sway of that fear and self-loathing.

In a related sense, the other thing that has caused them the most dread is the way that the people around them react to them- their companions especially. Kasander is honest and well-meaning, and they tried so hard to communicate to others what they experienced and how it could be dangerous to others (even if they didn't want to be cast aside or killed). But after being alternately dismissed for their attempts to communicate or yelled at and accused of lying over things they'd tried to warn the others of, they begin to experience a seeping sort of fear of their friends. It's not that they're bad people. They just don't understand, and when it comes to the things that really matter, they can't be trusted, not all the way. The only companions who manage their total confidence in the end are Jaheira, who has always been understanding and able to help them find clarity when they're slipping, and Astarion, who built that trust very, very slowly over the course of things after a rocky start (complicated friendship, that).

(And as an aside- for Asperia, the two great dreads are the feeling of failure and the seeping sense that there's something about himself he doesn't understand. It's all about self-control and status in the end.)

42. How badly do they want to reach their end goal?

Badly enough to die. Badly enough to risk dying. Kasander's not one to do things by half measures, and the evolving goals of "figure out the tadpole situation" and "save the world" and "leave that cult for good" are all things that Kas is willing to put everything into. Especially that last one. They don't like to think about it having more weight than the whole "save a world of innocent lives" thing, but it does. It's been with them far longer, and even if they've come to protect people in general, there's always been someone specific they lived to defend. Recovering that goal does blunt their martyr complex somewhat though- it's for the best even if it does make them feel guilty.

B) What inspired you to create them?

Kasander is a rare one of my CRPG characters who was actually created on the spot for the game in the character creator. I didn't have a lot of thoughts besides "I want to see this new Bhaalspawn," "I want to play an elf again," "I want to have they/them pronouns," and "I want an avatar who's cute since this is the first non-portrait game I've played in a while." Truly, I just dicked around in the CC for an hour before settling on their appearance and picking the paladin class because the starting armor flattened their chest and I hadn't done paladin before. This was, I kid you not, the entire Actual Character Concept I had in my head starting.

That and this message were from right after wrapping up character creation and heading out to do something else with the friend I'd been staying with, so you really have the immediate concept crystallized.

As much as anything "inspired" Kas, I think it was the contrast between the vague sense of DUrge I had and the all time sunshine paladin subclass, Oath of the Ancients. I feel like I build some kind of deep contrast into the foundation of every character I make. That's the core, the interplay between elements at odds with each other. And god this game rewarded that approach beyond my wildest dreams.

Kas ultimately became a lot more than the "two bagels" paladin, and became more complex very quickly (I think I had the original concept for Asperia within two days of starting the game as well). But that's beyond the scope of the question, I think.

Things that popped into my head while rewatching this episode:

--Recalling Gotouge's journey in developing the world and story and how Tanjiro and Nezuko were originally going to be side characters until the editor heard about them and swooped in to save the series by making Tanjiro the main character. (According to interview in Fanbook #1)

--Recalling how the art direction team, in order to produce this episode, made a trip out to the mountains of Tochigi Prefecture (which would have more snow than Mt. Kumotori typically gets nowadays) and experienced stomping around in the deep snow and feeling it pack under their feet, and feeling the exhaustion and early lack of sunlight. (According to interview in booklet handed at out at early Mugen Ressha showings)

--Giving Takeo, Hanako, Shigeru, and Rokuta red eyes like Tanjiro is such a choice and it was made. --I believe Saburo the umbrella craftsman lost his family to demons. --I love that we got to see Grandma Kamado. Tanjiro was so little. --Tanjiro really is just everybody's favorite person, isn't he???? Look at him, Tanjiro-ing all over the town.

--I've heard it said how Tanjiro must so bitterly regret telling Hanako and Shigeru to stay home that day.

--Did Nezuko imply that Rokuta's sticking to Tanjiro because he looks so much like Dad??? That loss really is so recent in their hearts, as is the encounter with the bear, as it's the first possibility Tanjiro thinks of when he sees the attack. But, we see their worldview so clearly in how Tanjiro muses on the fickleness of life like the changing weather of the sky, and he knows from the get-go that happiness is fleeting. But also, we see how he appreciates what he has so much. ;__;

--Kokushibo took three days to become a demon and wondered how long it might take Kaigaku to become one, as strong ones may take longer. Nezuko's body was left out there in daylight for many hours, and probably many night hours too as Muzan wouldn't risk being so far from cover so close to dawn. It was still daytime when Giyuu got to them, albeit covered with clouds, but Nezuko might had taken 8-16 hours. A lot of time seems to have passed between Tanjiro's discovery of the family in sunny conditions and then being partway down the mountain with her in overcast conditions; perhaps Tanjiro didn't hurry at first under the assumption that they were all hopeless and was in the process of preparing their bodies for burial, and he didn't notice the hope for Nezuko right away. Imagine his panic into action once he did. --When first following this series, I had read Giyuu's entrance into this scene as heartless and distant and jaded, which made his change to yelling at him and then hoping he'll do something (even before being impressed by Nezuko) felt strange, but now I read every line as full of kindness and sympathy from the get-go. ;___; Giyuu was hurting for Tanjiro the instant he knew what happened. --Might I say how much I love Nezuko's slow stare at Tanjiro lying on the ground after Giyuu hit him? She's still not making sense of everything going on around her, but there's this pause when she's having to compute that the person (brother???) whom she... doesn't want hurt (cares about???) is... not moving... oh, hurt??? HURT!! HE'S HURT AND THIS GUY DID IT!!!! DEFEND, DEFEND!!! GRRRR!!!!

--The drop of Nezuko's piano theme music as Giyuu comes running, no sound effects to his upcoming violence, I love the juxtaposition

--I have no clue how long Giyuu waited around for Tanjiro to wake up. Probably not terribly long since it's still daytime hours, but long enough to have neatly dressed a demon and fitted her with a muzzle.

--Curious if Giyuu had any knowledge or recollection of Kanae's wish to befriend demons, though the person he thought of who insisted on a demon not harming someone seems to have said that right before being proved wrong, and Giyuu seems to carry guilt for not having prevented their death

--My gosh, Tanjiro is still so little and powerless. He struggled so much while carrying Nezuko, noting how his lungs hurt breathing that frigid air. He has so, so much ahead of him.

jt (finally) watches warrior nun - s1 e1

So yeah I confess: I actually haven't sat down and properly watched the series yet! But with the mystery continuation coming, I figured I finally should do it (plus my life right now is about doing things that I've been meaning to do so here we are).

Anyway it's a weird experience, watching Warrior Nun because 1) I've not sat down to watch a show in a long ass time and 2) I already know the major beats and arcs and have characterizations and head canons formed. Still, it's a credit to the whole team that it's still rather compelling.

One of the biggest things that surprised me was how the camera lingers on Ava, giving us a chance to experience things alongside her. (There's some beautiful wide shots - it's interesting to see it all in context after watching so many fanvids lol) Again, I haven't watched a lot of shows in the past, oh, decade, but I'm assuming it's not common now for there to be this kind of breathing room, an opportunity for the actor to yknow, act (which Alba Baptista does brilliantly, not just in her facial expressions but really her whole body gosh). And it's a fantastic device to create sympathy for her, to connect with her emotionally.

I also didn't realize just how central Mary is at the start - and goddamn, does Toya Turner give us everything from the jump. Additionally fascinating is seeing how Vincent's betrayal is also set up from the start - it's kinda fun to know what's going to happen and see the clues. For example, how he deliberately manipulates Mary when she - rightfully - calls him out on choosing her to do the dirty work. The way he puts pressure on Mary by making it seem like she (already emotionally compromised) is the only one he can trust in a seemingly helpless situation made me want to punch him and that's brilliant writing.

Last and mostly, I have to of course talk about Beatrice. The thing that stuck out to me is how much leadership she shows in the small things she does. We see her both in action/in a stressful situation (which I'll talk more about in a sec) and in the aftermath - it's layers that I've only seen in experienced leaders when I was in the military. We see her both as a strategist (leaving Shannon and making Lilith stay) and an emotionally competent leader (reassuring Camila post-battle), but the thing that fascinated me the most is that we also see her as someone capable of doing a hard thing: potentially taking down Mary.

The moment I'm referring to is when they're going to take the halo out of Shannon and Mary refuses, pointing her shotgun at the surgeon.

Look at Beatrice here: She has immediately reached for what looks like a side arm. She glances only once at the surgeon but during the whole exchange, she is focused solely on Mary. There was no hesitation, just a steady at-the-ready the whole time. Would she have threatened Mary if Shannon not spoken up? We'll never know, but it's fascinating all the same, all these little hints of what she's capable of all here in just the first episode.

Also can I just mention just how amazing that "she's right" exchange was between Beatrice and Mary?

Idk if it was the lighting or the makeup or just Kristina Tonteri-Young's brilliant choices (or just all of the above), but the heartbreak in both of their faces is just damn, really freaking good.

In any case, we'll see how long it takes to get through both seasons lol

Hiii again 😅 (I've uh. I've been relistening to a lot of your audios lately sorry for how many asks I've sent lmao)

I just wanted to say that I adore the way you put so much research & care into portraying mental illnesses/coping mechanisms and stuff like that, it makes me feel so warm inside when I hear something that I've experienced explained and cared for so succinctly. Like the Ambrose puppy comfort audio where he just... Accepts that the listener/Arden might be regressing or in a different headspace and he's so calm and sweet and respectful and aaaaaa it's so so so nice

Also with all your Moon Knight audios, those ones hit me in particular. I mean, I bawled my eyes out when I watched the show proper so I probably shouldn't have been so shocked to do the same with your audios, but by gosh did I cry like a baby when I first listened to that "we've got you" audio because wow. It's so realistic it made me feel so insanely warm. It's so easy to mess up representation of DID and with moon knight being one of the few medias that does it really well I'm so sensitive about it and it felt so good to have that validated. Steven dissociating or talking about switching or them switching in audios or being cocon is just so well done and it's obvious that you care about making people like me with DID and OSDD feel seen and it's working and I appreciate it so so so much. I know you've said that other people's audios have helped you feel seen in similar ways, so I guess I just wanna say thank you so so so much for doing that for other people as well 💖

(Also tangentially related, that scene in the marc confession audio where Steven is co-con and he's just chanting "kiss them! Kiss them! Kiss them!" And Marc has to tell him to shut the hell up is SO REAL the amount of times I've done that is incomprehensible atp and I got a good chuckle out of it haha)

the way ambrose is in that audio and similar things is just basically how i would want to be treated in those situations.

season 2 of moon knight wheeennnnnn. :( but no i'm really glad people are okay with my portrayal of them, i've had requests sometimes that ask for certain things with them and i turn them down because i really want to do a good job at portraying them and their DID as accurately as i can. when i get requests to have marc and steven switching during nsfw audios i always turn them down, switching's not some fun thing, it's tiring and stressful and draining and doesn't feel appropriate to portray it as some sort of threesome when if eg steven and the listener are having sex and marc switches in... he'd have no idea where he was or what was happening and would not have had the ability to consent to the sex before he's suddenly in it, you know? i hope that makes sense. i try my best to do right with the representation as someone who doesn't have DID nor OSDD.

I’ve been meaning to ask !!! Its possible you’ve already posted abt this BUT I got in an angsty mood recently and was curious, do you think Adam or Belle dies first? and how does the other cope with it ?

ooohhh i love that you Know i’m just crazy enough about them to know the answer to this question. i’ve thought TOO much about this, unfortunately! look you have one otp for six years, YOUR MIND WANDERS, OKAY?

okay so obviously in the ideal perfect world, they die at the same time asleep in bed in each other’s arms after a very long life of being so ridiculously in love. that way no one has to deal with anything (except the rest of their family, of course). that’s the ideal otp death scenario. BUT. i do have a sadder answer, yeah

so for a while i actually could not decide who would die first. it really wasn’t ideal either way because if adam dies first, belle has to go through experiencing his death TWICE in life. and if belle dies first, adam is… disaster. but ultimately, belle is by far the stronger one between the two of them, they both know it and always have, so i decided that adam would die first.

i once entertained the idea of belle dying first and adam just… oh my gosh… like they’re always very old when they die but even still it’s like… belle is the air that adam breathes… watching him lose her is so… dark. and grim. he really can’t live without her and the aftermath is far too upsetting to include it into my canon. he becomes so unwell…

now, obviously, belle is utterly heartbroken by adam’s death, and she doesn’t do all that much better than the alternative. i headcanon they both die in their 90s (no i do not CARE that they’re from the 18th century!!!!! they’re living long ass lives because i SAID SO!!!!!!) and it’s really no specific illness that takes adam. it was just his time. he was in bed for a week or so, too weak at this point to do anything else. belle never left his side, caring for him even though she had slowed down in her old age too. even as nurses and grandchildren tried to take over, she wouldn’t let them. she’d do anything for him. she’d take his place if it were possible.

he dies at the grand age of 98, surrounded by his family and loved ones, holding his wife’s hand. she can tell he’s nearly gone, but he’s fighting it. he loves his life too much now to leave it. he’s been sunbathing in happiness for over 70 years and he doesn’t want to let it go. but belle kisses his hand and tells him it’s okay, they’ll be okay. this family he’s raised, this family he’s protected, this family he’s loved. they’ll be okay. rest now, my love.

silent tears fall down belle’s wrinkled cheeks as adam turns and looks at her. though his face and body age, his eyes never changed. still the same crystal blue that she fell in love with. he looks at her and he squeezes her hand. his lips turn up in a slight smile. “my darling…” he whispers, just as his last breath escapes his lungs.

everyone knows he’s gone. he was husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, beloved king. he was rescued so many years ago, it seems none of it matters anymore. but belle remembers. belle remembers when her love was lost in the darkness. belle remembers when he accepted her light.

the following days are a blur. everyone is sad, but relieved too — in the way anyone is when an old, beloved family member passes. he deserved to die that way. life fulfilled, loved by plenty, surrounded by those who meant the most to him.

while the children (grown and old themselves, frankly) tend to announcements and letters and funeral arrangements, belle keeps to herself. she sits on the balcony of their chambers in the west wing. she watches another sunset alone. she hasn’t felt such sadness since her father died many years ago. she thought she would never recover from the deep pain she felt at his loss. but adam had been there to hold her while she cried. adam had kissed her head and told her things would be better again. and at the time she couldn’t fathom it, but she never left his arms. his warm, comforting arms. belle had never felt safer than when she was in adam’s embrace. and now… now she shivers under even the warmest of blankets.

they were old. and belle always thinks too much. she knew their time on this earth could not be much longer. and when adam could no longer get up, it was only a matter of time. what she did not anticipate was how utterly betrayed she would feel by death itself. how dare he be taken away from her? to leave her alone? she always prided herself on being able to do things on her own, but the true reality of it was devastating. she didn’t want to do anything alone ever again. she wanted her best friend back. who was she going to dance with now?

the last entry of her diary was short, but clear in how sad the queen felt. how lost she was, how high up in the clouds her head floated, with no one to keep her grounded. her heart had completely and irreversibly broken in two. she would see adam; visions of when they were young, and some when they were older. but he’d always vanish again before she could say anything to him. “where is my adam?” she’d ask her children when they found her. they would simply take her hand and kiss her cheek, asking her to come and sit awhile with the little ones.

a week after adam’s death, their children found belle in bed, having peacefully died in her sleep. they were devastated, but equally knew how much their mama loved their papa. they had always known of their parents’ grand love. and they knew this may just be too much for her. knew that dying from a broken heart was as real as it could be.

so, adam and belle were buried together, entombed in the rose garden behind the castle. their precious home. a huge, lovely structure was placed to honor them, with vines and flowers growing around it, and eloquent words on a plaque speaking of a beloved king and queen, who loved like no other.

How many works do you have on AO3?

I am but a baby, with a humble four works, and one drabble collection. Though I am proud to mention I do have several WIPs that I'm quite excited about, that includes some multi-chap pieces!

2. What's your total AO3 word count?

Again, only at humble beginnings, clocking in at 9094

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Right now, exclusively RWRB!

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

5. Do you reply to comments? Why or why not?

Yes, always! Even throughout my grad program, workshopping always inspired me and pushed me to be a better writer. I love commenting on works that connect with me, and I think it's so lovely to interact with people that cared enough about my words to do the same on my stories!

6. What is the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

Everything out from me right now ends with fluff! But I do have an assassination attempt fic in progress. It'll be a 5+1 that leans heavily into hurt, without much comfort. I'm not having it end with an 'unhappy ending'. But also not quite a light, 'feel-good ending'.

7. What is the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

I have one upcoming Halloween, Huh? fic that will have the most tooth-rotting fluff, featuring drunk!Henry, at the end that I think will keep this spot warm for a while. But, available right now, I'd probably say "i'll love you when the ocean's dry".

8. Do you get hate on fics?

So far, no. Thank gosh. I am an utter cry baby, and would sob profusely.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

My first smut piece is coming out for Halloween, Huh? ! I've also got a few oneshots on the "WIPs to Start' list. I think the vast majority of smut I'll write will interact with kink or D/s dynamics. As someone involved in the community, I love imagining FirstPrince experiencing the intensity and range of emotions that often accompanies play in this sphere.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

I don't, unfortunately. If I did, it would probably be some sort of FirstPrince x One Direction/Harry Styles or Taylor Swift situation.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Nope!

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Nope! It would be a wild honor though.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I haven't! I love the idea of collaborative writing though!

14. What's your all time favorite ship?

I think because FirstPrince is the only ship I've interacted with to this level, I have to say them!

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

"You realize I'm a trapped animal down here? You're keeping me in a cage. You cannot possibly be so fucking obtuse as to not see I'm miserable," Alex's voice was obstinate, dripping venom into each syllable. Henry's eyes shuttered closed. He spoke with nothing but neutrality, but something in his features gave way to a quiet melancholy. "You know I'd free you if I could. This is bigger than us both, Alex. Hate me all you'd like. I can live with that if it means you're still breathing." -- or, an au in which Henry is Hades, Alex is Persephone, and the history books never quite got the story right.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I'd like to think my imagery tends to come across quite vividly! I also really strive to create small, tiny moments filled with softness.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Humor. I have always struggled intensely in capturing lines that come across as genuinely funny.

I also occassionally find myself really having to work at getting pacing into something that feels natural and fluid.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in a another language in fic?

I've had short instances of Alex speaking Spanish in a fic or two so far. I try to do so cautiously. I have a big fear of misrepresenting a language out of ignorance. Luckily, I'm able to interact with some lovely Spanish speakers in the Brownstone Server that are kind enough to take a look at some lines now and then!

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Unpublished, One Direction. Published, RWRB!

20. Favorite fic you've written?

"i'd be smart to walk away (but you're quicksand)"! it's my longest fic, and also has some lines i'm really proud of!
