Soldier Poet King - One Piece ver.
There will come a captain
whose smile is bright and free
with a hat that's made of straw
and stretch as vast as seas
for fun and adventure
he'll do as he please
and if you want a savior
give him something to eat
There will come a swordsman
who wields not one but three
the first mate of our captain dear
and made of loyalty
senses sharp
and a goal to reach
from a fight he never runs
to win he is ready
There will come a burglar
as pretty as can be
with her maps all drawn by hand
she'll navigate the seas
her eyes on the clouds
and royalties
she'll command the ship they sail
and guide them to safety
There will come a liar
who's always quick to flee
a marksman whose eyes are clear
and hands that are steady
a sniper, a warrior
and fights bravely
listen to his tales so tall
he'll stand for his friends' dreams
There will come a chef with
a deep love for the sea
a dreamer and a fighter but
flirtatious he can be
has flaming kicks
and a love for ladies
and if your paths they ever cross
you'll never leave hungry
There will come a reindeer
who might look cowardly
a doctor who has a heart
bigger than his body
a child named a monster
and slightly naive
but if you look one final time
he's more human than he seems
There will come a scholar
a flower-like beauty
has a love for reading
and archeology
with limbs that blossom
unnerving is she
for her nation she'll explore
and answers she will seek
There will come a cyborg
a proud shipwright is he
a little shameless and he wears
his feelings on his sleeves
works filled with passion
and creativity
he will build a ship for us
to sail on every sea
There will come a skeleton
who's gifted tunefully
a lonely life he has led
existence a mystery
a promise to fulfill
and a lifetime of memories
the musician will play a song
and sing with joy and glee
There will come a helmsman
the first son of the seas
like a calm before the storm
he fights powerfully
he's gentle, he's righteous
and pushes equality
the fishman steers with a smile
and laughs wholeheartedly
There will come a pirate crew
'The Strawhats' namely
the world will hear their laughter
as they go on this journey
with hopes and dreams
and desires to achieve
come and join as they travel
the Merry and Sunny
With hopes and dreams
and desires to achieve
watch and read the story of
how they find the~

putting my prediction on record now that the coming decade is going to see the rise of viral-marketed fancy at-home water filtration systems, driving and driven by a drastic reduction in the quality of U.S. tap water (given that we are in a 'replacement era' where our current infrastructure is reaching the end of its lifespan--but isn't being replaced). also guessing that by the 2030s access to drinkable tap water will be a mainstream class issue, with low-income & unstably housed people increasingly forced to rely on expensive bottled water when they can't afford the up-front cost of at-home filtration--and with this being portrayed in media as a "moral failing" and short-sighted "choice," rather than a basic failure of our political & economic systems. really hope i'm just being alarmist, but plenty of this already happens in other countries, and the U.S. is in a state of decline, so. here's praying this post ages into irrelevance. timestamped April 2023

everyone wants to have a multimedia extended interconnected universe. everyone from giant media conglomerates to indie authors are trying to speedrun their way into the next mcu or cosmere because no one understands that the reason why those giant universes with endless crossovers exist and why people care about them is because they were given time. crossovers in the beginning were left to cameos that meant nothing to the overall story and were easily missed and the focus on telling the individual story you are telling in the moment is why people cared enough about marvel movies to get to the point of endgame (and like also why people are very rapidly losing interest in marvel movies when it became all crossovers all the time and lost any kind of focus)
this is not a judgement on the quality of successful extended universes or saying they're like peak media, it just needs to be acknowledged that they were successful and the reason why is because in the beginning, they were just telling individual standalone stories and not teasing out a massive universe that no one would have cared about anyway because you need to care about the people in a world before you can care about a world. and its not just a problem with large media companies repeatedly trying to accomplish this with one movie made only for the purpose of worldbuilding needlessly. small and indie creators keep trying and failing to accomplish this too because they're making the exact same mistake
if you want to create an elaborate sprawling universe with multiple series and characters crossing over, great. worry about telling the story in front of you first. if that story wouldn't be interesting without it being a part of an extended universe, then why do you think it would make people care about your extended universe

Every time I think about how the Colleen Hoover fangirlies get mad when people even suggest that they should try and diversify their portfolios I get really, really sad. Like I don't think you have to read classics or anything and be an elite snob but if you limit yourself to just Colleen Hoover and maybe Sarah J Maas and a few other popular booktok authors, you're missing out on so so much. Even if you just want to find good new releases, keeping up with the book of the month club will give you plenty of options (even if you can't subscribe to them and have to get them from the library). Diversify your portfolio. Read older mass market paperback romances or literally anything else.

Gently shaking the sort of people who go like "ew why would anyone describe a book using tropes, that doesn't tell me anything about—" honey, it's because it's a convenient shorthand. If you want to know what the story is about in actual detail, then click the link and read the summary. Maybe read a few reviews and learn what the experience was like for other people. Please, I know that you are smart enough to do a little research on your own.
And if you're not interested in the way the author described the book anyway, then why are you wasting time telling them how uninterested you are? Go find something you actually like!

I know it's early, but I'm already in the Inktober mood - especially because I wasn't able to do it last year (for good and fun reasons). I don't know how much time I'll have to do something daily in October, so I'll just start planning early lol.
Anyway, I've decided to make something for a different fandom every day and that causes problems for certain fandoms with many many cool characters. Critical role in particular!
So can you help me out and comment with your favourite Critical Role NPC? From any campaign!
Edit: I've collected enough suggestions for now lol - I have a nice top 8 and I'm going to make a poll in a bit :3 Thank you everyone! 💖

Hey! I just wanted to like. personally thank you for your tags on that post about being 13-15. I’m 20 and I’m just. I don’t know. It’s really nice to know that there’s no rush to get my shit together. You don’t have to post this if you don’t want, but from one stranger to another, thank you. I hope the future is kind to us both.
You are /more/ than welcome Anon.
I know when I was around 17-20, I wish someone would have told me that. I wish someone would have reassured me
"You're not an '''adult''' by 30. In fact, the idea of 'becoming an adult' is a lie. Everyone is a child, slowly figuring things out.
You'll be 25 and be 10 in maturity in some places, and 45 in others. You'll be 19 and be as mature as a 28 year old. 60 with the maturity of a 12 year old.
Age is a lie, maturity is a slow process, and everyone should always be growing. The idea that you become 'a mature adult' at a 'certain age' is a paradox, and is not helpful to you when you're young and scared and figuring yourself out before you can figure your LIFE out.
Your art will get better. Your friend group will get bigger. You'll laugh more, write more, reach out to your role models and realize they're all just people like you. Figuring things out. Fucking up. Being scared. We're all a little bit scared. But we all figure things out despite the fear.
So long as you take things at a healthy pace, you'll be okay. You'll feel like 'it's the end of the world' so many times, and you'll get through them. And it's worth it to stick around."
There's never a rush to get your shit together. Most people don't have their life together, or figured out. We're all just kids with back pain and bills. But, y'know. We get to watch the movies we want and eat the food we like, so. It's not so bad. <3

favorite type of ask?
(like chatting, baiting, complimenting, helping, and to you or to spamton)
honestly? depends on a lot. When i look through asks i have a little brain list im checking off and ofc the reference sheet for YGM in the back of my mind. Some of my favorites just so happen to fit the things i need AND i was/am usually able to write good dialogue for them. Theres this one im really excited for but alas... sigh... i have to wait... Most of the gems turn out to be just regular things people come up with, believe it or not. Butttt.... the very very few good bait asks are GOOOOOODD bait asks!!! And the ones that are good for helping him?? are REAL good at helping!! I think those people have just figured out stuff faster than other people loll

Oof yeah. Regarding that asexuality post. And the weird thing is you can't easily distinguish what feelings are your own, what is the societal norms engraved into you. And also it's so weird to be attracted to fictional characters but cringing at the thought of any irl experience. It's a very complicated emotionally place to be in. It sucks.
You don't know if it's "normal" to feel like that or if "sOmEtHinG is WrOnG".
Personally i think that something more liberating than even the asexuality label (or aromatic, or demisexual or whatever else is related) is just.. creating a label on your own?
Like.. you can totally choose bits and pieces. If you're this-one-person-irl-sexual that's amazing!
If you're that-fictional-man- sexual power to you!
If you're idk-maybe-?-sometimes-?-remains-to-be-seen-????????-sexual ey! That's great too!
(that's what i tell myself. I think carving out space for your own special experience can be very comforting and helpful!)
yes, you get it 😔 honestly I'm just at a time in my life where no label is all that fits me, but it's often frustrating to feel like I don't understand myself, or I can't fit in with anyone's communities... it can be difficult to accept that sometimes it's okay to just not know
