the rest erupted in a peal of loud laughter while carlos’s shoulders slouched. propping his back against the chair with his arms crossed, a chorus of ‘see?’ and ‘i told you so’s’ made you laugh,

miguel settled his elbow on the armrest, eyes glinted with adoration whilst his mouth stretched into a lovesick grin. he watched how you managed to pull joy out of them and there’s nothing he’s appreciated more than that,

the way you threw your head back as another cute giggle escaped you while holding onto his shoulder for balance was enough to make his heart ponder,

“man, you’ve got wicked sense of humor, y/n—say if shit went sideways between the two of you, just know I’m available”

miguel frowned upon hearing that as his nose scrunched up in disgust as he leapt the nearest pillow at his brother’s direction for that comment. he wrapped his arm around your waist far more protectively,

“watch it” he warned, glaring at him. he knew it was a joke but he still didn’t like how that sounded, “i’ll kick your fucking ass, monty”

upon seeing that, your hand moved to find his cheek, lightly tapping his chin with your finger to get him to look at you,

“easy there, big boy” your words soothed him in seconds, especially when he heard his favorite nickname leaving your mouth, "I'm with you"

the confirmation made him giddy and his heart blossomed,

his smile faltered after he soon realized what he had just called you, he swallowed a nervous gulp. opening and closing his mouth because he was unsure what to say

I guess I've been missing having a place where I can just throw up all my feelings and tell the little-but-important things that i've been passing through, like when you just feel something so deep in your soul but it's so personal and deep that you cant just bring that subject as a non important talk to someone who's not connected to that feeling and moment but that you also wanna share it because you've been felling this and since it's out of you now it should be free in the world and have it's place out here because you're too tired of holding on your on stuff and feelings. That said, hi... I'm Carlos and my life is kinda of crazy... (I'm so down for cliches lately lol

I love how you can just be taken out of your own moment and transfered to somewhere else by movies and tv shows... I was here watching season two of heartstopper and holy shit, it blows my mind of how related I am with the hole story. I can see myself in each and every single character. There's so much of Charlie and Nick in my ~gay history~. I just love how good, sensitive and empatic the show is about every subject they talk about. It made me revisit a lot of big emotional moments in my life but in a good way, with so much more respect and empathy for who I am and all I've been through.

It made me cry a little about how hard things might be for us just by being in the LGBTQIA+ community, that's a pain I'm constantly ignoring and shutting down on my life, I guess I don't feel like is fair to face it since I had a pretty vanilla experience on it. Sure I was afraid, anxious and to be honestly pretty much terrified as how it would be, but since things turn out to be good I just tried to compensate that people accept me as I am by being almost a people pleaser to overcompensate the respect they gave me. I'm so done with in the past years. People use to take me for granted by giving you the bare minimum, respect, company, "friendship" and I, on the other side felt like I should overcompensate that I was a burden just because I am bi. I feel like a retired bi since I've been dating a guy for almost 7 years (if you're reading this, I love you so freaking-fucking much), but that, the bi thing, is another topic.

Talking about topics, I always felt like I wasn't committed with things. Me. A people pleaser. A person who goes deep in everything that does. I used to think I wasn't committed enough. That's no joke. But, let's get back on what I was trying to say. It feels so good to be contemplate by shows and movies who connect us to parts of who we are that were left behind/forgotten and help us to make peace with ourselves. It's like a real life miracle, you don't even know you needed, but suddenly if you healed from an old pain. It's truly a relief for me. I'm so happy that after so many years I just made peace with somethings I've been through. Hope everyone out there can find that kind of peace too.

Month Update:

Ok so update about JZ, we don't speak at all anymore. I was cool w J and hung out couple times and spoke daily, even ft at times. He came on our “anniversary” and got me a spooky basket, that let me say I fell in love with because it was so thoughtful. Okay so fast foward to halloweekend, I was supposed to hang with Mel her cousins, libi and tagged J along. The night didn’t go as planned, me libi and J ended up in jersey city. However, the boys were nearby and ended up tagging along with us. J got mad af and we argued and every since, shit changed.. Ok, we moved past that after we spoke and we were cool but he was very distant.

On Nov 11th, towards the night he called me on ft and started to tell me about some girl he met and been talking to. Mind you, he will always pl=rank me to get a reaction out of me. So there goes me not believing him fully, he's talking about her and just describing her and stuff, as he's speaking I honestly don't know how to feel, i'm in disbelief. He then tells me that she knows about me and how that no matter what he wants me to be apart of his life and that she understands that which is very fucking unrealistic like cmon now. Anyways, i'm like yeah sure bcs like I said i still didn't believe him. Towards the end of the call he tells me how he's going out and he's going to be with her so he will talk to me the following day and i didn't care much bcs I was going out too. 

Mind you, I don't even want to go out but im like let me go to clear my mind and not overthink at home. I'm out with Alexis and his boys, drinking and trying to avoid my sadness. It's almost time to leave, I check my socials and I see him post her on his snapchat and instagram... people are texting me and showing me at that point i start crying in the fucking bar like a dumb bitch so I tell alexis we had to go. I'm hysterically crying as we walk to the car and i'm just in disbelieve and in so much pain and anger. So I text him a paragraph on how we cant be friends and he automatically calls me and is texting me to pick up. 

The following day, i decide to say that one of my friends sent that message to not show I care and we move past it, but mind you im hurt af and crying all day lmao! So whatever, he's very distant and I seen him post a snap obv him out w her at bdubs and so I text him how I felt and expressed all my thoughts. The conversations turns into an argument ofc, we then talk on the phone the following day and agree to be friends.. we continue to text. 

It's now friday the 18th,  and I wanted to see him so we make plans to out that night to ashford, he picks me up and i saw him texting leo lmao. Did phase me so it killed my mood so i was quite as we drove there, you can feel the tension and the awkwardness between us. He's on his phone more than usual when were out and it bothered me and all i was thinking was her. So he then keeps looking at me and it's making me mad and I wanted to just cry and tell him i want to get back with him when i really don't but i can't stand the fact he's willing to try with someone else. So, I then ask him for us to go home, we get to the car and I asked him where does she think hes at and he laughs and said tbh she thinks i'm out with Carlos, that made me so angry and upset i laughed turned to the window and started to hold my tears. He then asks me why im acting like that and why are we talking about her when we were supposed to just enjoy the night together but I just can't. So I started telling him off to leave me alone and that us friends is not a good ide and he then gets upset and starts arguing with me but i'm not even saying anything i'm just mad and still in disbelief. I then get home and i'm just crying ofc. I text him and tell him that i'm sorry the night ended the way it did but I just can't. He still avoid the no longer friends part and tells me i won't happen again and i told him to not worry about it and that i don't want to know about her and that that's it. He then texts me today, nov 20th acting like everything is ok and asking how i'm feelin, he then takes hours to reply, i replied 6:42pm and it's now 9:41pm and no response.. I am lost of words,.

I wanted to write something for Carlos because i haven't written something for him alone yet. this is pretty much my attempt at writing for him. constructive criticism is welcome (encouraged even). enjoy :)

Pairing: carlos oliveira x fem!reader

Warnings: swearing, angst? tell me if i missed any

synopsis: Carlos and his s/o go on a mission but really y/n wants to settle down with him. y/n brings up the conversation to carlos he feels like he cant just quit his job.

“y/n behind you!” you quickly turned around and a zombie jumped on you. You dropped to the ground, zombie on top of you. Now, you were managing fine on your own, the zombie didn’t bite you, didn’t scratch you, it was almost off but still, Carlos kicked off you and shot it.

“Shit y/n, you have to be more careful,” he held out his hand to help you up, always the gentleman. You took his hand and pulled yourself up.

“I was doing fine, you just got to him before I could finish ‘em,” you and Carlos have worked together for a couple years, probably around ten, and you guys just got married early this year.

“Just helping you out, we gotta have each other’s back,” you loved him dearly, but this was getting old. There were dozens of other agents. Why did you guys have to continue working? You were getting older and closer to the age where you can’t have kids, something you’ve always wanted, a family. With this stupid job, while you did enjoy it, you just couldn’t have a family.

“Well, I can handle myself, I’m sure there’s something else you could’ve-” all of a sudden a crowd of zombies started banging on the door.

“Shit,” Carlos sighed, holding up his gun, “we’ll talk about this later Carlos,” you held up your own gun, he nodded as the zombies broke through the door.

Gunshots filled the room, zombies overflowing into the somewhat small room you two were in. Carlos was killing it while you were just doing the job, he was always the more practiced person out of you two, but you knew and had just enough skill to get by.

Zombies stopped overflowing into the room, you had a window to get out of there. You gave Carlos a look and gestured towards the door to let him know of the window. He nodded back and continued killing the last of the close-by zombies, then gesturing to you so you guys could go somewhere else.

This mission was long, you guys have been out here for 4 months, working on saving civilians and trying to get the bad guy. The bad guy created some virus and is using it on people blah blah blah. This isn’t new, it’s like last time, and the time before, and the time before that. This time was only a bit different, Chris brought his team in to help but they haven't been seen in a while, probably left, wouldn't blame him. While saving the world is important, so is a family, right?

You and Carlos left the zombie attractor of a room and went somewhere more lowkey where you could take a breather and talk. That really was a fuck ton of zombies and they ate your ammo.

“Damnit, low on ammo.”

“We can easily get more, don't fret y/n.”

“I have less than a clip, any ammo to spare?” you ask. Carlos takes his clip out and sees it's full. He takes a clip's worth from his ammo pouch and hands it to you.

“Thanks, Oliveira,” you fill up the rest of your clip and put the rest of the bullets in your own ammo pouch. Carlos gives you a look, you almost never call him by his last name. In all your years of working together, you only called him by Carlos or a nickname.

“Hey, everything okay?”

“Yeah, what's up,” okay, you were definitely upset, he could tell you’re off.

“Did I fuck up? What's wrong?” you gave him a look and crossed your arms.

“How much longer are we gonna do this? I mean this is a great job Carlos, but I'm getting old, if we’re gonna have a family we have to have one soon,” Carlos sighed and stood up straight, neglecting whatever he was doing.

“Well we were gonna retire as agents, you never mentioned anything about kids.”

“Carlos are you fucking delusional? I've wanted kids with you since we were dating.”

“You’ve never mentioned kids y/n, what the fuck.”

“I can't sit around for much longer Carlos, I want to settle down and have kids. I don't have the option to wait till I'm like 40 and get some young person to impregnate me.”

“Fuck sakes, you’re gonna tell me this now? We’re in the middle of a mission.”

“Yeah, a mission I never wanted to fucking go on. I can't live like this forever, so you can't keep ignoring the question.”

“Let's go, we’ll talk about this later.”

“Whatever Oliveira,” that was that. Such a stupid fight, at a stupid time. It's whatever really, but it's annoying how he ignores the fact that I want kids. You grabbed your gun and followed Carlos out the door.

“Meet back at the entrance in 45.”

“Whatever you say, Oliveira,” you both separated and stormed off in different directions. You would manage anyway, you didn't need some dickhead there to protect you 24/7. He wasn't really a dickhead, but he did piss you off at that moment.

You were walking down the hall, suddenly remembering you had little bullets, Carlos was the one with them all. You quietly cursed, hoping to not run into any zombies. You opened up a door and walked into a room. There were shelves, tables, and computers. An office of some sort.

A noise behind you made you flinch, something fell off a shelf or something. You aimed your gun behind you and saw there holding everything else on the shelf up so it doesn't fall. He gave you a shy smile so you put your gun down.

“Listen, I know you're mad, but I wanted to apologize, I shouldn't have got so angry, it's just been a long couple of months. When this mission is over we can talk about it after this is over with, I promise,” you sucked in your cheek, looking at him up and down. You walked up to him and put your hand on his shoulder, giving him a warm smile.

“Yeah, I'd like that,” Carlos gave you a kiss on the forehead and returned that warm smile.

It had been years since you went on a mission. Carlos had very short ones here and there but he was never gone for longer than 3 weeks. You were lounging on the couch, flipping through the tv channels seeing if anything good was on. You checked the time and noticed it was around three o'clock. You switched the tv off and went to check on Carlos.

“Hey hon, how're you doing?”

“Terrible. They changed the strategy for division, fuck the school systems!” you giggled at the man struggling to do grade 3 math.

The front door swung open and a little girl ran in.

“Mommy! Mommy!” you picked her up and asked her what was going on.

“I colored you a card for mothers day!” you set her down and she rummaged through her school bag, slipping out a pink card made of construction paper. Carlos leaned on the door frame, smiling at you two. You opened the card reading all the messily scrawled words.

“Wow honey, i love it, thank you,” you bent down and kissed her cheek. She ran off to her room all giggly.

“What an amazing kid we produced.” Carlos slid his arms around your waist, kissing your cheek.

“Mostly from her daddy,” he smiled against your skin, telling you to shut up and it was mostly you.

starting off strong with redlyn. my beauties. my loves. my sunshines. i LOVED that the whole cast knew about red’s plan. just carlos, ricky and ej being like ah yes locker letters😉😉 and everyone being all smiley and knowing SO CUTE!! i hated seeing ash sad but GOD RED SPENDING THE WHOLE NIGHT MAKING THIS THING TO SHOW ASHLYN HOW MUCH HE APPRECIATES HER?? GOD TIER. also the crew just wATCHING FROM THE DOOR WHILE REDLYN IS IN THEIR OWN WORLD?? MY HEART they’re just such a genuine couple. i love their sweet awkward moments. i also love that lights is their reoccurring thing. it just makes me so happy. y’all just KNOW red calls ashlyn his sunshine and i don’t take criticisms on that. i also really wanted an i love you confession there but they’re so cute that i will allow it to wait

HOWIE AND KOURTNEY!!! at first (bc ep. 11) i was like HOWIE NO YOU CANT HAVE DONE ALL OF THIS STUFF TO HELP EAST AND THEN STAB THEM AND KOURTNEY IN THE BACK but the fact that he was literally just in awe of kourtney and so nervous to be around her because he thinks she’s so talented mADE MY HEART RACE truly incredible. also loved kourt standing up for herself. we LOVE and STAN a straight forward QUEEN also their dorky arm in arm walk was so adorable. also drum rolls being their thing. also honorable mention to kourt’s (dara’s) mom WE STAN

PORTWELL ANGST SCENE I CRY. ALSO DID I CALL THAT SCENE OR DID I CALL THAT SCENE?? if you read the fic i posted like 7 hours ago you’ll know what i’m talking about. anyways back to the show. gina joking around and then realizing that ej means not rescheduling ever and her just pretending like she’s fine with it?? OUCH OUCH OUCH i would’ve rather her immediately been heart broken. DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON EJ’S FACE AFTER SHE WALKS AWAY. matt absolutely killed that part. you can tell he waited just long enough for her to walk away when he lets his face fall and IT HURTS YOU CAN LITERALLY SEE HIM WANTING TO STAY CRYING BEFORE HE TURNS AWAY

rini moment. not the dressing room parallel. it was PAINFUL. the juxtaposition between the scene in the s1 finale and this scene?? OUCH. ricky saying if we’re literally on the same page (something they struggled with throughout the entire season) and nini saying just for a moment. i just wanna talk to the writers I JUST WANNA TALK BECAUSE THAT WAS RUDE.

seblos being cuties and ms. jenn on some fuck shit. she was having a MOMENT. like chill it’s high school theater it’s alright sis.

GINA LOOKING IN THE MIRROR AND SOBBING I HATED IT. I HATED IT.

gini moment?? i loved it. also nini’s right. portwell is so powerful for so many reasons. period sis. and she’s right WE ARE LUCKY TO KNOW GINA. i loved their moment of solidarity and friendship. imma be honest for like 0.1 seconds i thought if portwell doesn’t work out gini might be the move bUT DONT WORRY IM A PORTWELL WARRIOR FOREVER also y’all called gina talking to nini about jamie and her music. YALL CALLED THAT SHIT

i liked ms. jenn and ricky’s moment. i loved josh’s acting in this scene because it’s just so well done. like doesn’t seem like he’s acting at all and it translates so well in this scene. it was very heartfelt and such a mature moment for ricky. so reflective. i love ricky

second chances GAVE ME CHILLS the whole staging, the vocals, the core four. CHILLS. the acting from all of them for this song WAS INCREDIBLE. it was so simple but really made the scene. i’m also a sucker for songs structured like this. with like the rounds and the switching lyrics over top of each other. LOVE.

ok literally all of them booing when lily and antoine showed up sENT ME because me too THE FUCK. antoine saying “big red. you were also in it” mADE ME SNORT. ricky literally shooing them out made me laugh and lily’s whirling turn and ricky like startling back a bit made me laugh. i hate lily but her confession was literally me. like i like his big brown eyes and his big brown hair too you ain’t special bitch. antoine’s thumbs up was SO FUNNY. andrew was hilarious in this role.

also i didn’t love that they were like well fuck the menkies after that was a major plot point of the season but like also i get it. just being like MEH the stress isn’t worth it. EJ’S SPEECH HES LITERALLY VOICE BREAK JUST THE FUCKING GROWTH THAT HES HAD I LOVE HIM

overall am i a little sad it was so short? yes. do i understand the insane restrictions they were working under? yes. am i confident about a season 3? absolutely. i am HERE for a summer season.

okay. hsmtmts episode 3 thoughts under the cut

YES i always start with gina, and what about it??? i would die for her. anyway im CRYING over how she thought her mom forgot about her like? youve been gone for like 2 months, literally what parent would stop caring that quick? she doesnt think she deserves love like literally most of the time and my heart is ACHING

i came into this episode knowing the chocolates would be a bait and switch bc the preview 100% wanted us to think it was ricky. and yet i still caught myself believing he did it for a second there. i was looking forward to some good rina content this episode and i cant believe i let myself get bamboozled. like the conversation was nice but completely one-sided, and he ignored her to call nini; i get that hes literally in a relationship but im not a huge fan of how he just stopped giving a shit about gina once it wasnt romantic anymore? like,, they couldnt even stay friends?

generally my thing about rina isnt that i think its some big spectacular ship, but moreso that i always go for ships that make my favorite character the happiest. so most of my rina shipping comes from seeing how ricky was the first person that gina was so happy and open with, and how she trusts him even though she trusts literally no one ever and she just self-discloses around him unprompted. the infatuation and crush part on gina’s side is the part i like. but ricky? annoying n flaky as shit

random offshoot but i wouldve loved to see the chocolates come from ej. it wouldnt have made sense just based on the episode we were given, but what if gina and ricky had had that conversation in the hallway and ej overheard them and wanted to do something nice for her since he didnt have a gf to buy stuff for this year? could you IMAGINE? i know im gonna be complaining about how theyre throwing ej away all season but like seriously @ writers we get it youre getting rid of ej in s3. no need to cut him almost completely out of the show in s2. please someone give my man some PLOT im dying

ashlyn telling gina “i wish i could give you a valentine” is simultaneously gay and reeking of straight people nonsense. you can give your friends gifts on valentines day??? i didnt receive a romantic valentines gift until i was 17 years old but i still got stuff from friends every year? umm

speaking of ashlyn i get the track that theyre trying to go on by making it seem groundbreaking that a disney princess role went to someone whos not a size 2 but like. shes still a white woman and im tired. plus theyre dancing around it anyway. if you wanna give her body image issues then just fucking commit. half assing that conversation helps no one.

redlyn was very cute this episode. im still annoyed that theyre getting so much time and focus this season but like. i am a big red stan. the song in the credits was cute too

speaking of, tell me why they literally crammed all the songs at the end of this episode??? i was honestly thinking they wouldnt have any songs this week, thats how long it took

kourtneys beauty and the beast was pretty. also i know theyre gonna make howie her love interest bc clearly if a boy and girl on tv interact for more than 2 seconds it has to turn romantic. im pre-annoyed. 

the ricky/nini plot didnt make a ton of sense bc... why didnt ricky just... hang out with her in the waiting room at the hospital? i am very confused as to why they had to make it so angsty and tropey like. youre literally in the same city and theres an easy solution here

im wondering if theyre gonna try to make miss jenn and mr mazzara a thing? im on the fence about how i feel about that tho. but i am annoyed that they didnt show miss jenns conversation with rickys dad at all

theyre making carlos so annoying this season, like idk whats going on or why they thought they needed to phone it in with his characterization this time around but like. what even was this seblos plot?

kourtney and seb conversations are always cute so i loved the piano scene

back to kourtney for a sec: why would big reds parents hire her as manager? why are they picking inexperienced teenagers for leadership roles? if nothing else, if howie has been around forever, why wouldnt they just promote him to manager??? instead of someone who has no idea how their pizza shop works like. i get that theyre trying to #girlboss kourtney this season, but was getting a job not enough growth and independence?

overall my biggest Gripe™ with this episode is that there wasnt enough gina or ej. and i get that its a big cast and not everyone can be the focus every time but literally when did redlyn become such a big priority to the writers? why are they getting so much screentime? i dont hate them or anything but like, i thought the main main characters were supposed to be nini, ricky, gina, and ej. so why is one of them getting like,, two lines per episode? im really out here picking up little ej crumbs like they wasted SO much potential with him as a character
