What made clown and Mother Gooseberry get together? What is they see in each other? How long have they been together?

There was an idea me and @youcancallmenoob had which I like for them. Basically Kenneth knew Phyllis back when they were both young. Kenneth was working the traveling circus and came into Phyllis' town, probably meeting her either accidentally or if the Mother Gooseberry hour wanted to add a circus to an episode.

He liked her A LOT and would have loved to spend more time with her, but Dr. Futterman and the circus wouldn't allow it. He didn't see her again for decades, during that time degrading and evolving into a full-fledged slasher. In the Realm, he was there for many, many years before the Entity brought Phyllis in.

He recognized her even with the extensive damage done to her through horrific experimentation. No matter what she looks like now, he still sees her as the cute lady he met all those years ago. Their love of the circus, their shared past and their history of extreme abuse and drug addiction was what ultimately lead to them becoming a couple.

They see in each other kindred spirits. Someone who understands them, who knows who they are. They're two batshit crazy old farts who share the madness.

While I have Phyllis arrive fairly recently, I can see them being together indefinitely. Even more so since the Entity mutates the slashers into immortal supernatural creatures. So she'll live forever with the Clown and be deliriously happy.

If they got together as young adults, they would definitely have married and had A LOT of kids. She wants to be a mother so much and in one scenario her dreams come true.
