CAS Challenge Day - 16 - Siren

So my first CAS challenge was by @aliengirl for a sim built around your birthday (blonde) and it happened to be a mermaid. So I added another mermaid to that household to make them "sirens" for @pixeledwings Halloween CAS challenge. So here they are ♥. Yay, it's officially spooky season! I knew I wanted to do a retro Monster High lookbook for Halloween, but I was tossing up between the 1960s and the 1980s. Both periods lend themselves well to the style of the dolls, although ultimately the 80s won out because the wide range of fashion during that decade perfectly translated to each of the main characters.

🎃 Happy Halloween, Ghoulfriends! 👻

It is officially my favorite time of year, and I'm betting it's probably yours too! To celebrate, I decided to create a spooky season challenge that's a little different than the ones I've seen before. Each costume category is inspired by classic Halloween costumes that have stood the test of time, each waiting for you to put your own spin on them. This one is only for 20 days because I know you'll all be busy this month and there will be other super fun challenges you'll want to do. Now, off to Dr. Frankenstein's lab with you! I can't wait to see what machinations your twisted minds summon.

The Rules:

Choose one of your own Sims to be the party's host. Their costume is completely up to you.

Every other category is reserved for townies, and the choice of each townie for each category is totally up to you.

Do you ever have those times where you have an idea for a lookbook, you work on it for days and nothing seems to click? That's what happened with my initially planned Halloween lookbook this week, but then the perfect inspiration hit me - Scooby Doo but make it 1940s. I've given each of the gang their own cover inspired by the popular detective pulp novels of that era, with the titles and authors based on real life episodes and screenwriters from the Scooby Doo show. First up is Velma, which I have to say is my most favourite.

Are you ready for a new CAS Challenge?

For this challenge I was inspired by the bonds our moods and favorite songs share. We all have those go-to songs we put on repeat when we're going through something, whether good or bad. This CAS challenge is meant to incorporate both the music that inspires us and the clothes we use to reflect those moods to the outside world.

THE RULES:

Let's make your #mood playlist!

There are 12 prompts total. Preferably do all 12, but you can start with any one you want and go in any order you like.

Choose a song that you associate with the mood you've chosen.*

Create an outfit for your Sim of choice that you feel is the best visual representation of that song/mood.

Share your creations and songs using #moodcas. If you want me to personally reblog your playlists, be sure to tag me too! Want to share special memories about your songs? I'd love to hear them!

As always, have fun!
