In 2017 I interviewed Bernadette Wren, then head of psychology at the Tavistock Gids clinic, and asked what effect puberty blocking drugs have on the adolescent brain. Looking highly uncomfortable, she replied that the evidence so far was only anecdotal but that the clinic would study its patients “well into their adult lives so that we can see”.

Even back then, before whistleblowers had exposed the rush to medically transition children, it was alarming to hear that heavy-duty GnRH agonists such as triptorelin — used to treat advanced prostate cancer and “chemically castrate” sex offenders — were being prescribed to arrest puberty in hundreds of children as young as 11.

Moreover, they were being used “off-label” before any clinical trials. And the long-term study Wren promised never materialised: Gids (the Gender Identity Development Service) routinely lost touch with patients, and the 44 it did follow reported little long-term mental health improvement.

This shocking chapter in medical history, where the ideological objectives of trans rights campaigners trumped the welfare of disturbed children, is coming to an end worldwide. The decision by NHS England effectively to ban the prescription of puberty blockers comes after the Cass review noted these drugs could “permanently disrupt” brain development, reduce bone density and lock children into a regime of cross-sex hormones requiring life-long patienthood.

NHS England unites with other national health services including those in Finland, France, Sweden and, most notably, the Netherlands — where the “Dutch protocol”, a regime of early blockers then hormones, was devised in 1998 — in pulling back from prescribing them.

Even in the United States, where a toxic combination of extreme activism and medical capitalism has pushed child gender medicine to grotesque extremes, with double mastectomies performed on 14-year-old girls, there is some retrenchment.

Leaks from the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, the body which formulates guidance on “trans healthcare”, reveal doctors perplexed at how they should explain to an 11-year-old child that drugs will render them infertile. Crucially, liberal media such as The New York Times are now reporting grave medical misgivings about child transition, once dismissed as a culture-war issue for the Republican right.

Yet the question remains: how was this ever allowed to happen? For years, puberty blockers were cheerily billed as a mere “pause button”. In 2014, Dr Polly Carmichael, the last head of Gids before the Cass review ordered its closure, went on CBBC in a show called I Am Leo, saying of blockers: “The good thing is, if you stop the injections, it’s like pressing ‘start’ and the body carries on developing as it would if you hadn’t started.”

The BBC permitted her to make this unevidenced claim to an impressionable audience of six to 12-year-olds. Imagine hearing this as a developing girl, freaked out by your new breasts and periods. No wonder Gids referrals subsequently rocketed.

Carmichael failed to mention that she did not know if pressing “restart” on puberty is always medically possible — it is not — and in fact, almost every child Gids put on blockers went on to irreversible cross-sex hormones.

After years in a Peter Pan state while their peers developed, they understandably felt there was no way back and forged on with treatment. Yet if allowed to experience natural puberty, almost 85 per cent of gender dysphoria cases resolve themselves.

Nor did Carmichael tell CBBC kids that the blockers-hormones combination, if taken early enough, not only results in sterility but kills the libido so that a young person will never experience an orgasm.

At the 2020 judicial review brought by a former Tavistock clinician and Keira Bell, the brave young detransitioner rushed onto hormones by Gids, judges expressed astonishment at Gids’s lack of an evidence base.

Reporting on this issue for seven years, I too have been struck by a complete clinical incuriosity. Not only was data not collected, but those who queried treatments or pressed for evidence faced angry condemnation. Perhaps activists knew what research might find because one long-term Finnish study, recently reported in the BMJ, destroyed the myth used to justify blockers: that a child will commit suicide if denied them.

The Finns found that “gender-affirming care” does not make a dysphoric child less suicidal. Rather, such children had the same suicide risk as others with severe psychiatric issues. In other words, changing bodies does not fix troubled minds.

Yet even after NHS England’s announcement, activists refuse to heed the now-overwhelming evidence. In its response, Stonewall persists with the myth that puberty blockers “give a young person extra time to evaluate their next steps”.

Many questions remain unanswered: will private clinics still be permitted to prescribe puberty blockers; and is Scotland’s Sandyford child gender clinic still determined to close its ears to all evidence? Plus, we have few details on how the NHS’s new “holistic” treatment for gender-questioning children will operate when it opens next month.

This repellent experiment — in which girls who like trucks or little boys who dress as princesses, and who invariably grow up to be gay, are corralled inexorably down a road towards life-changing treatments — belongs in the book of medical disgraces. As do the cheerleaders who raised money for Mermaids and those who persecuted whistleblowers or damned journalists asking questions as transphobic.

In 50 years, chemically freezing the puberty of healthy children with troubled minds will be regarded with the same horrified fascination as lobotomies — which, never forget, won the Portuguese neurologist Antonio Egas Moniz the 1949 Nobel prize.

Most ‘Transgender’ Kids Turn Out to Be Gay

Subjecting them to medical interventions is the modern-day version of ‘conversion therapy.’

As a medical professional who happens to be gay, I’ll be celebrating Dec. 15, the 50th anniversary of the American Psychiatric Association’s decision to remove homosexuality from its list of mental illnesses. The longstanding designation was based on prejudice, not medical research, and the revision marked the beginning of the end for so-called conversion therapy, which sought to “cure” gays and lesbians of a nonexistent malady.

Half a century later, the medical establishment is pushing a new kind of conversion therapy under the guise of transgender identity. No one is suffering more than gay kids. In Canada, where I practice, and in the U.S., physicians provide what’s euphemistically known as “gender-affirming care” to patients as young as 8, and the leading transgender health association has opened the door to interventions at even earlier ages. Under this framework, those who feel uncomfortable with their bodies may receive a medical regimen including puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and sex-change surgeries. These interventions typically stunt, remove or irreversibly modify a patient’s sexual development, genitals and secondary sex characteristics. Any endocrinologist or other physician who rejects this approach is alleged to be endangering the health and even the life of his patients.

But are these patients really “transgender”? Research shows that some 80% of children with “gender dysphoria” eventually come to terms with their sex without surgical or pharmaceutical intervention. Multiple studies have found that most kids who are confused or distressed about their sex end up realizing they’re gay—nearly two-thirds in a 2021 study of boys. This makes sense: Gay kids often don’t conform to traditional sex roles. But gender ideology holds that feminine boys and masculine girls may be “born in the wrong body.”

In this light, “gender-affirming care” looks a lot like conversion therapy. In the past, it took the form of electroshock therapy, chemical castration and even lobotomy. Now it takes the form of rendering teenagers sterile and sexually dysfunctional for life. Clinicians from the main U.K. transgender service referred to prescribing puberty blockers as “transing the gay away”—a play on the description of old-fashioned conversion-therapy as “praying the gay away.” A clinician who resigned from the U.K. service accused it of “institutional homophobia.” Clinicians at the service had a “dark joke” that “there would be no gay people left at the rate Gids”—the Gender Identity Service—“was going.”

Consistent with conversion therapy, physicians are telling young gays and lesbians that something is wrong with them, based on a regressive view of what it is to be male or female. Also consistent with previous efforts to cure homosexuality: The resulting interventions often create lifelong medical problems, both physical and mental. Contrary to advocates’ claims, there’s no evidence that puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, or surgeries reduce the risk of suicide.

Children who take this road face a lifetime of pain, infertility and anguish. They deserve real mental-health care to address common underlying comorbidities, not mind- and body-altering medical interventions that try to make them into something they aren’t.

Fifty years ago, the medical assault on homosexuals began to end. Now society has been told that accepting transgender identity is the same as accepting gays and lesbians. But it isn’t. Even well-intentioned acceptance of transgender identity disproportionately harms them. One day perhaps professional organizations like the Endocrine Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics will follow the evidence, as the APA did in 1973. Until then, gay kids will continue to suffer from an injustice that was supposed to end 50 years ago.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) in Nashville has been handing over the complete medical records of transgender patients to Tennessee’s attorney general, the center confirmed Tuesday.

The revelation has caused panic among the center’s trans patients, especially since the state recently passed a ban on gender-affirming healthcare for transgender youth. The ban requires youth who are currently receiving such care to de-transition.

“VUMC received requests from the Office of the Tennessee Attorney General as part of its investigation seeking information about transgender care at VUMC,” John Howser, VUMC’s chief communications officer, said in a statement.

“The Tennessee Attorney General has legal authority in an investigation to require that VUMC provide complete copies of patient medical records that are relevant to its investigation. VUMC was obligated to comply and did so,” Howser added.

The Vanderbilt University-associated facility has been under scrutiny by the state since right-wing troll Matt Walsh targeted the medical center last September in his crusade against gender-affirming healthcare.

In a September 2022 Twitter thread, Walsh claimed that the staff at VUMC’s Transgender Health Clinic “now castrate, sterilize, and mutilate minors as well as adults, while apparently taking steps to hide this activity from the public view.”

Walsh criticized the clinic’s Trans Buddy program – which offers peer support to patients – and repeatedly accused the medical staff of “drugging and sterilizing” kids for financial gain.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee (R) followed Walsh’s lead and called for an investigation.

“The ‘pediatric transgender clinic’ at Vanderbilt University Medical Center raises serious moral, ethical and legal concerns,” the Governor said in September. “We should not allow permanent, life-altering decisions that hurt children or policies that suppress religious liberties, all for the purpose of financial gain. We have to protect Tennessee children, and this warrants a thorough investigation.”

The state’s Attorney General, Jonathan Skrmetti, complied.

Skrmetti’s office characterizes the ongoing probe as a simple billing inquiry.

“We are surprised that VUMC has deliberately chosen to frighten its patients like this,” AG Chief of Staff Brandon Smith said in a statement shared with The Tennessean Tuesday.

“The Office does not publicize fraud investigations to preserve the integrity of the investigative process,” Smith continued. “The Office maintains patient records in the strictest confidence, as required by law. The investigation is focused solely on VUMC and certain related providers, not patients, as VUMC is well aware.”

Court records reveal state officials have sought the medical records of specific patients, messages sent and received from a general LGBTQ+ health program email address, and the names of individuals referred to Vanderbilt’s transgender clinic.

Chris Sanders, executive director of the Tennessee Equality Project, said that parents of three different trans children have called him in a panic since the revelation.

“They’re terrified,” said Sanders. “They don’t know what’s next. They don’t know how this will be used, or whether they will be targeted in some way. They feel like their privacy has been violated.”

Cognitive behavior therapy, avoidance, and treatment of any other mental illnesses and trauma that may be impacting a pedophile’s attraction. Chemical castration isn’t fully the right word for the primary medical treatment of pedophiles currently, that’s just antiandrogens which lower the ability to experience sexual arousal. It doesn’t actually have any lasting effect on fertility. I personally believe sterilization should be a suggested treatment for pedophiles specifically because someone with an attraction to children should not have children and some sterilization procedures can cause a permanently low libido which would limit reliance on medication, but it should not be mandatory for pedophiles who have not harmed children.

I've seen my local Oxfam charity shop, that I've gone to for years, become more and more politicized and woke: it's a charity specifically set up so that people can donate towards helping relieve starvation around the world, but for years now there have been transgender flags up in the window all year round, feminist postcards prominently on display, and the words "helping empower women" permanently painted on the shop banner. The Ukraine flags from last year are still up in the window but now they've been joined by posters saying "Support [Hamas-run] Palestine!"

All I wanted to do was drop off some books and clothes that could maybe be used to help starving people of all kinds get some food to eat, but to do so now actually means I have to take a side in two ongoing international wars, support the sterilizing and castration of children, and fund a sexist political agenda that insists on giving aid to women before men.

I'm really going to have to find a better charity to donate to, one not infested with modern identity politics, if there is one.

My most toxic naruto fan trait is that I think several characters would probably be castrated/sterilized in a slightly darker version of the story we got.

Hyuga branch members? Yeah, you can't convince me that the main family would allow members without much personal incentive to serve Konoha or the Clan as a whole to just spread the Byakugan around.

Jinchuriki are another one. Women would probably get it worse due to common knowledge that tailed beast seals weaken during pregnancy, but I don't doubt that it would have been common practice for men as well to restrict the chance of children having claim to a village's ultimate military asset.

The Li Clan tradition is not of the norm for most families in Foxian lineages. For one, the Li Clan is never blood related. His parents, were his legal adoptive parents. Bing Yan inherited the Troupe like a business deal through his legal documents, saying so once his parents passed on in their 304th year of living. Bing Yan, at 90 years, took over his parent's business ( his mother lived far longer than her husband at the time ) and with their training well in his body and mind, he carries it for the next 200 or so years to the best of his ability.

The Li Clan traditions are as follows ::

Adopting a newborn Foxian to train into the ways of the Troupe, if they select the Li Performance Fan upon their ageing ceremony.

The child must be without ties to another family.

Upon the adopted child's 18th birthday, they will undergo a spiritual vasectomy / tubal sterilization to prevent children of their bloodline.

( Optional, but without such things in place, it is often seen as an act of greed. To mobilize the Troupe in one family bloodline. Thus, if rejected, the process of them being trained as the head will be moved onto another child adopted into the family. )

The option is 100% the Foxian's. They know the heaviness it can way upon them, and the choice holds a lot into it. They are not removed from the family, but at places within a 'branch' of their reach to tend to other duties away from the performers and stage, usually in administration roles which may suit them better.

If they proceed with the removal of their ability to have biological children, they are to be taken aside to undergo strict training.

Around their 150th birthday, they will be in charge of their own group within the troupe to put their knowledge to practice. Around 250 years, they will be the head of the troupe, or whenever the prior head has fallen incapable by their body no longer healing itself.

Li Dynasty has changed over the years due to developments in technology and opinions shared amongst the changed. The Spiritual vasectomy / sterilization used to be a full castration on either gender.

Bing Yan - was the last of Foxian's to be given this option. He is a eunuch.

Bing Yan was 18, when he had the procedure.

Bing Yan didn't hate what had happened to him, he agreed to the notion over the years of being the Head in the future. However, he did suffer complications due to the Doctor at the time. The terror of it told him enough that it shouldn't be given to anyone else, and it was the first Clan Law he fought to change when he reached 25 against his Parents at the time. Only when his Father passed away - did his Mother allow the change to happen. Since taking over, he's kept the Clan Law the same and safe.

Bing Yan has had a full removal of scrotum, penis and testes.

He has no sex drive, nor desires to act in any form of sexual outside of performances on stage that are of a sensual nature.

He has had no complications in his bones nor illnesses in his growth since the removal.

If anything, the removal of his genitalia, only fuels the rumours of Baoyang being more and more real and Bing Yan being the illusion. Works in his favour, the feminity he holds well.

**The Spiritual Vasectomy / Sterilization is a temporary medical procedure that nullifies the healing factor of an internal surgery. The surgery lasts only twenty minutes for either gender for their tubes to be sealed and heal over before release. The reason for it is to stop the monopoly of the troupe to bloodline / family blood, instead of the Foxian Race as a whole.

This procedure will be reversed when the Foxian has made the decision to fully leave the troupe behind and do something else.

However due to the massive decision that it is, it's rarely backpedalled on from those that made it. If it isn't something that's 100% agreed upon by the part involved, it will not happen.

I don't know what possessed Ana Kasparian to only now, after all these years, to come out guns blazing against terms like womb haver and menstruator - as if this is the latest innovation in the war against women and it’s only just begun. And why this particular objection? I don't care if someone wants to call me a womb-haver or a menstruator. You know what’s so great about those terms? They’re accurate and not degrading - unless you find what they describe to be degrading, which I don’t. The second great thing about those terms? They exclude men. Hard as they may try, no matter how many years they have been doing hormones and plastic surgeries to “pass” for women, men will never have a womb, men will never menstruate. This is so true that by any rights they should be pissed that those terms exclude them by definition, and they should be fighting for the right to be called womb-havers and menstruators. They’re not picking that fight, though. So we really have no beef there.

And Ana is choosing to fall upon her sword over this cause? After years of watching with perfect indifference great heroines like JK Rowling being publicly crucified for being gender-critic feminists she will now get the same rape threats and death threats and ongoing persecution, because of this trifle?

So, she’s still not going to get all upset over women being raped by autogynephiliacs in their safe spaces, that part will continue to not be relevant to her as a woman and as a feminist? She'll still be cool about men in drag breaking women's bones in their female sports, and stealing their titles and awards? Well eugenicists believe(d) that criminal behavior was inherited. I don’t know if “modern day eugenicists” think that but for obvious reasons I haven’t exactly sat one down for an interview.

Eugenics has always been a pseudoscience, but no, a stance of giving pedophiles the death penalty is not especially aligned with eugenicists beliefs. It’s also hard to compare wanting to prevent a pedophile from having children due to them being sexually attracted to children with people who think autistic people shouldn’t have children because that gives children autism or whatever.

If you aren’t calling for mass sterilization with the goal of “keeping the gene pool pure” it really isn’t eugenics. Just. By definition, eugenics is with a very specific intent of pursuing white supremacy. Castrating pedophiles (chemically, which is reversible btw) just makes pedophiles less horny for children and unlikely to produce children of their own should they ever have sex with another adult for any reason. One is a tool for “cleansing” a population (read: making it white and traditionally neurotypical/abled), the other is a safety measure to protect children for someone who has an innately unethical attraction to them.
