I will always love this part, Arlong was gagged when he became aware of the truly bad state Zoro had been in all this time.

One thing I always enjoy about this first saga is how Zoro is constantly seen as the bigger enemy because he has some level of fame in the East Blue, something that will change slightly when Luffy gets his first bounty and they enter the Grand Line.

It's also the first time we realize Zoro's resistance is beyond normal.

And I've always appreciated that little panel of Nami reacting to his wound because she hit him there... and she hit him twice. She must feel so guilty here.

So, chapter 89 is just about Yuri...

Even so, I think this chapter makes me sure about one thing: from now on, I'll definitely ship Yuri with Chloe, as they even studied in the same college! Apparently, Yuri kept skipping grade and graduated from high school when he was fourteen years old, and Chloe was his senior in their college, but Yuri joined the SSS before her so now she's the junior. That's hilarious.

I can't say much about this chapter, but I just can't believe that Chloe suspected someone who definitely wasn't Twilight.

Oh, and there was another organisation which was brought up in this chapter.

Chicken Circle? Duh...

Overall, this chapter is just... okay? I like the part when Chloe talked about Yuri's moments in their college (and also when she slapped his face twice here), but yeah, nothing more.

I hope chapter 90 will be better than this one, though...

89 | Okay, so we probably haven't gotten enough filler chapters in before the next big arc starts but I can't help but hope that this chapter is setting us up to get more of Yor's backstory, likely along with us getting more of Yuri's as well. Perhaps the two will do some reminiscing and we'll get their different perspectives on what happened? I've been thinking that there's a good chance that Endo will give us more of Yor's backstory when the cruise arc gets animated for a while now and that's about to happen!

Then again, maybe we'll get another chapter where Yor (or perhaps Loid and Yor if we get a small timeskip) is forced to convince Yuri that she and Loid are really in love again, but it also feels a bit too soon for us to get more Twiyor crumbs...

I'm honestly hoping that I'm wrong about it being too soon for both those things! Maybe the upcoming chapters will give us a bit of both. I can dream, right?
