Être assistant-réalisateur sur le tournage d'une publicité d'une marque de vêtements était déjà une super expérience professionnelle, mais que impressionnant acteur Jason Momoa en soit le mannequin était encore plus incroyable ! Malheureusement, les chaussettes qu'il devait porter avaient disparus, perdus par les équipes costumes. Paniqué, le réalisateur de la publicité te demanda de toute urgence si tu acceptais de remplacer les chaussettes.

Désirant plaire à cet homme influent et sentant que ce tournage pouvait orienter ta carrière, tu as accepté. Il t'avait dit que cette transformation serait provisoire, alors tu n'as pas été plus craintif que cela lorsque ton patron t'a installé dans le "transformateur", une machine rare qui n'était utilisé pour transformer des humains en objets qu'en dernier recours. Les stagiaires et les subalternes étaient les cibles de cette machine qui n'avait pas servi depuis longtemps.

Or, dans sa précipitation, le réalisateur du film a appuyé sur le bouton "transformation définitive permanente" sans s'en rendre compte. Tu étais devenu des chaussettes, une joli paire rose mais très confortable.

Le gigantesque et viril Jason Momoa était habillé en rose, la douceur de la couleur contrastant avec son physique très masculin. Sitôt qu'il t'a essayé, l'acteur ressenti immédiatement une sensation de plaisir : ce qui était autrefois ta bouche se situait au niveau de ses longs orteils, et le transformateur changeait les humains en objets en leur faisant éprouver des sens humains. Tu avais donc face à toi les orteils et les pieds de Jason Momoa que tu sentais et que tu léchais chaque fois que toi, la chaussette, rentrait en contact avec ses pieds. Jason Momoa avait donc l'impression qu'on lui donnait un bain de langue, et c'est toi qui sentait et aspirait l'odeur de ses pieds suants, et absorbait sa transpiration.

Jason Momoa n'avait jamais eu des chaussettes aussi confortables, alors il demanda à les garder après le tournage de la publicité. Dans l'espoir que tu disparaisses et qu'on ne puisse pas accuser le réalisateur de sa faute professionnelle, il t'as laissé partir sans remords. Tu n'as plus jamais quitté les pieds de Jason Momoa, il te portait constamment car il n'avait plus à sentir ses pieds puants, sans savoir qu'un être humain avait été transformé, certes avec son accord mais sans savoir pour que ce soit toute sa vie. Dans l'impossibilité d'appeler à l'aide, tu as donc été contraint de vivre pour le restant de tes jours en étant collé aux longs pieds virils et puants du bel acteur Jason Momoa.

Being an assistant director on the set of a clothing brand commercial was already a great professional experience, but having impressive actor Jason Momoa as the model was even more incredible! Unfortunately, the socks he was supposed to wear had disappeared, lost by the costume teams.

Panicked, the director of the ad urgently asked you if you agreed to replace the socks. Wanting to please this influential man and feeling that this shoot could guide your career, you accepted. He had told you that this transformation would be temporary, so you weren't more fearful than that when your boss installed you in the "transformer", a rare machine that was only used to transform humans into objects. It was used if there was no other solution. Trainees and subordinates were the targets of this machine which had not been used for a long time.

However, in his haste, the director of the film pressed the “permanent definitive transformation” button without realizing it.

You had become socks, a pretty pink pair but very comfortable. The gigantic and virile Jason Momoa was dressed in pink, the softness of the color contrasting with his very masculine physique.

As soon as he tried you, the actor immediately felt a sensation of pleasure: what was once your mouth was located at the level of his long toes, and the transformer was changing humans into objects by making them experience human senses. So you were facing Jason Momoa's toes and feet, which you smelled and licked every time you, the sock, came into contact with his feet. Jason Momoa felt like he was being given a tongue bath, and you were the one smelling and inhaling the scent of his sweaty feet, and absorbing his sweat.

*sigh* I was worried this day would come

To the person who wrote this, I understand that you were joking and you were just being silly and you did NOT expect this response… but I’m making it anyway.

Guys, just because the comic is on a hiatus for who knows how long, just because I haven’t posted the sharkees doing cute throuple things because I haven’t had any ideas and just because I post about the cinnamon Ciblings a lot does NOT mean they are replacing anyone.

Please do not pressure me into doing so either. I’ve been pressured into making this blog not just bi lobster anymore so please do not pressure me into making the cinnamon ciblings the main focus of my blog now.

In people doing this, it not only causes me to not want to post about the cinnamon ciblings anymore, but it also makes me believe that people don’t actually care about my main Sharkee OCs anymore.

Gender Queer by Maia Kobabe (December 2022)

In 2014, Maia Kobabe, who uses e/em/eir pronouns, thought that a comic of reading statistics would be the last autobiographical comic e would ever write. At the time, it was the only thing e felt comfortable with strangers knowing about em. Now, Gender Queer is here. Maia's intensely cathartic autobiography charts eir journey of self-identity, which includes the mortification and confusion of adolescent crushes, grappling with how to come out to family and society, bonding with friends over erotic gay fanfiction, and facing the trauma of pap smears. Started as a way to explain to eir family what it means to be nonbinary and asexual, Gender Queer is more than a personal story: it is a useful and touching guide on gender identity—what it means and how to think about it—for advocates, friends, and humans everywhere.

I had to buy a book for university while I was at the Salon du Livre in early December, and this one really caught my eye. First, because it was a salon targeted towards children's literature and, okay, fair, this includes infants and goes into YA literature, but this comic tackles questions of gender and sexuality that people don't often approach in a space where children are included. Second, I had seen this comic in passing on the internet, so this was the perfect occasion to read it.

I'm not going to give a review saying "this is good, this is bad", I'm just gonna say that I think it's something eveyone should read. Maybe you don't think being non-binary is a thing, maybe you know it's a thing, maybe you're just curious. Maybe this comic won't change your views on non-binary people, maybe it will, maybe it'll change how you view yourself, but it's a great way to learn (more) about this identity. Like any story about queer experiences, this isn't the non-binary experience, it's an experience, but you have to start somewhere and this is a great starting point.

Please be mindful of potential triggers though, stay safe everyone!

A l'époque, c'était la seule chose qu'ille pensait pouvoir confortablement partager avec des étrangers. Maintenant, Genre Queer existe. Je devais acheter un livre pour la fac quand j'étais au Salon du Livre début décembre, et celui-là m'a vraiment tapé dans l’œil. Premièrement, parce que c'était un salon qui cible la littérature jeunesse et, ok, c'est vrai, ça inclue les bambins et va jusqu'à la littérature YA, mais cette BD aborde des questions de genre et de sexualité que les gens n'abordent pas souvent dans des milieux en partie dédiés aux enfants. Deuxièmement, j'avais vu passer cette BD sur internet, donc c'était l'occasion parfaite de la lire.

Je vais pas faire une review pour dire "c'était bien, c'était pas bien", je vais juste dire que je pense que c'est quelque chose que tout le monde devrait lire. Peut-être que vous pensez que la non-binarité n'existe pas, peut-être que vous savez qu'elle existe, peut-être que vous êtes juste curieux. Peut-être que cette BD ne changera pas comment vous voyez les personnes non-binaires, peut-être que si, peut-être que ça changera comment vous vous voyez, mais c'est un bon moyen d'en apprendre (plus) sur cette identité. Comme toutes les histoires sur les expériences queer, il ne s'agit pas de L'Expérience non-binaire, juste d'UNE expérience, mais il faut bien commencer quelque part et cette BD est un bon début.

French Musical Recommendations?/review (Part 3)

This is a mix between recommendations and shows I don’t like and shows I just know exist but don't know a lot about. Even if I’m not too much a fan of some of the show I would still check these shows out for the fun of it, maybe its not my cup of tea but it is for someone else. Again my French is lacking so if the lyrics aren’t great I wouldn’t really know unless I sat down and read them which I didn’t do.

Robin des Bois (2013): 

what to say about this show... I’ll start with the summary: Robin Hood and Marianne break up pre-show and have their own groups going on. Marianne also has a son with robin but robin has no idea about him. Sheriff of Nottingham starts attacking so Marianne asks robin for help. Also the sheriff figures out about robin’s son and so he imprisons the kid and surprise! there a romance between Nottingham’s daughter and Robin Hood’s son. 

Yep, haven’t seen the show, really don’t mind the plot sounds interesting enough. I’ve only listened to the soundtrack once and all I got to say is that it’s not great. The cast is lovely and look really sweet and friendly with each other, but all the songs really just sound like basic pop. To be clear without understanding the lyrics and just listening to it with not visuals, I found the soundtrack quite boring, so maybe I’m just missing something. My favourite songs are “Le flèche et la cible,” (the piano makes it sound like an anime opening or something, liked the drums too, and the vocals are nice) and “On est là” (it’s a really weird one, I couldn’t put my finger on it but after playing it for someone I got the decisive answer of it is very 80′s, the instrumentals really threw me off but hey it’s catchy). Also some songs had a bass line that also threw me off, just wasn’t expecting it. like the one in “la Providence,” maybe it’s just me. And one last thing about the songs, what the hell is ”Notting hill Nottingham” like that title is also the chorus and I’m just?? maybe if I understood the rest of the lyrics it would make sense? aside from the debatable chorus line, the drums are a blast in this song. Clips and music videos available on YouTube along with a behind the scenes two part video on the official musical’s channel.

Non-Music: well the costumes are ok, don’t love them but don’t hate them either, though friar tuck’s is debatable, from the bits I’ve seen most of the background is done with a screen which is fine, it’s more of a concert style show anyway, I’m a big fan of the ladder trees though, the dancing and acrobatics is probably the highlight of the show (again only saw bits but it looks good)

Dracula l'amour plus fort que la mort (2012): This is different from the Frank Wildhorn Dracula musical, Dracula: A chamber Musical and the Swedish Dracula musical. Unsurprisingly this musical is based on Stoker Dracula telling which I never read so I don’t know how much it follows that text. It was also inspired by the 1992 Coppola film (which again I have never watched). I won’t be too helpful about plot summary but it follows the general novel plot with Jonathan Harker engaged with Mina Murray goes off to Dracula’s castle for work. Things happen, the issue with Lucy occurs then Mina is targeted by Dracula and Harker with the Dr. Seward and Helsing go to kill Dracula to save Mina. There also seems to be a subplot where Mina was Dracula’s lover in a past life, which is shown through dance sequences throughout the show.Music wise it’s mainly rock pop which is up my alley. Personally, just based on music and not lyrics I like “Encore”, “Elles”, “ Le Ciel et l'Enfer” “ La Dernière danse” and maybe “L'Amour et son Contraire”.  The full show is available on YouTube.

Non-music: This show goes hard on edgy imagery. I personally quite liked the general over the top modernish gothic vibe. The dancers are great and quite liked some of the limited palette scene. The opening shadow puppet scene was cool. The only part I really had issue with is maybe the CGI 3d video scene. It was cool at times but the CGI is not great which is not their fault, but kind of distracted me. Also if you watch it there is this scene where Harker is laying in a large Pieta statue (minus the Jesus) and it’s just great. Like edgy church imagery with vampires? sign me up. There’s also this Vampire dream sequence in a bed because of course every vampire musical needs one (Tanz der Vampire if you know what I mean). Harker is in bed and vampire women come out from the bed (the bed itself is a hollow prop where dancers are hiding within and pop out from the holes hidden by the puffy bedding), the bed itself could have been more decorative with posts (like tanz) but still a really cool scene, Almost forgot, Mina and Dracula are played by dancers so they don’t really sing, especially Dracula he does not speak at all. Costumes are fun to look at, some are the best but I appreciated the general look of the show so I’m not that bothered. I strangely grew to like the spiney Dracula costumes, I think the fact he didn’t talk and just danced helped me like the costume more.

Overall, fun show so if pop rock is your vibe this show you should check it out.

Cindy Cendrillion (2002): This show is not good, but I had a blast laughing about it as I watched it so I recommend it. Let me clarify, my dislike is not due to the cast, in general I thought singing and dancing and all that were really good, what gets me is how dated it is now (it is really early 2000’s vibes and some of the plot is debatable). Show is available split into two acts on YouTube.

So the plot is pretty much a retelling of the Cinderella story in a modern early 2000′s setting. Cindy (Cinderella) is the daughter of an recently disappeared Irish pilot. and she lives with her step mother and sisters who are mean to her. She has a passion for dancing the jig, I’m assuming they are referencing Irish step to a certain degree. She goes out in night to dance but her step-mother threatens to kick her out if she doesn’t come home before midnight. A super star named Ricky (Prince Charming) has a Birthday ball and sees Cindy and falls in love. Also Ricky had a model Fiancée Judy who he breaks it off with to pursue Cindy. Spoilers now... Ricky writes a song where one can dance “the jig” to so they hold a competition to find a dancer for it, guess who wins? Cindy.. they fall in love... but Judy realises it’s all over for her and Ricky ands faxes him so mean message then commits suicide by overdosing on drugs. Cindy gets scared and leaves Ricky to Ireland. Ricky tracks her down and they fly away in a spaceship?! honestly this plot is just sure something.

Okay.... um if you read the spoiler section of the summary you’ll know how wild this show is. For those who haven’t warning there is an suicide by overdosing on drugs in the show. Music wise it’s alright, I watched the show but all the songs are quite forgettable because I was so distracted by the plot. Again the vocals are nice so perhaps I just need to listen to audio only, though I’m unsure about some of the lyrics. 

Non-Music: I have so much to rant about this show. First off it’s just weird that her Irish pilot dad keeps appearing in like spiritual form. Also Cindy is not spectacular at dancing, which is hilarious during the jig dancing competition you have actual dancer ensemble members doing cool moves and in general good dancing but at the end Cindy comes stepping around and twirling a bit, the same choreography she does every time she danced the jug in the show and then wins the competition. Honestly, they should of just done full Irish step dancing and had the actress trained in it or to be more practical had a double for Cindy that was obscured to trick the audience into thinking this double was Cindy. The actress was lovely and maybe she can dance but “the jig” choreography was so pathetic compared to the ensemble’s part, even the ensemble part was weird.. maybe I just don’t understand what “jig” dancing is. Also the ending was so random to me, maybe it’s because of my lacking French, I get there were references to space throughout the show but WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT ENDING. Well stage wise it was interesting at parts. I like the large center column piece that had platforms on it that moved around the pillar. Cindy’s love song to Ricky with her in front of a large Ricky Magazine and two screens showing zoom ups on Ricky was weird. Finally, costumes, really dated and tacky but I think they were quite fun. The only complaint I really have is Ricky, he wears this half tank top half leather jacket look, and it’s really a single tiddy out look.

Starmania (1979): Let me start by saying I DON’T hate this show I just know little about it. I’ve watched bits a few years ago and only really recall one song. It’s one of THE French musicals, I mean I wouldn’t know for certain but you’ll see it’s quite popular and covered by newer musicals cast member (like Mozart L’Opera Rock). The photo is from a more recent production which is different from the original costumes. As a show it’s set in a futuristic society so there is some surreal techno outfits and set pieces, which are actually quite cool. It’s pretty much about a gang called the Black Stars who are trying to rebel against a billionaire turned politician Zéro Janvier. There is romance plots, the wiki has more info on that. In general, the singing is great and from the parts I’ve seen it looks interesting despite the show aesthetic being really not my thing. Full versions of the show are available on YouTube, the production done in English is also posted on YouTube. I would say if you are trying to get into French Musicals this is a good one to listen to as well as it’s kind of a classic but I hesitate as the visuals look a bit weird due to the futuristic element (kind of remind me if starlight Express when it comes to costume) but if this isn’t you cup of tea there are plenty of other shows as well.

Résiste (2015): It’s a French Jukebox Musical. It’s one of those one artist jukebox musicals, so all the songs were originally sung by France Gall and written by Michel Berger. It’s about five friends (I think they’re friends), two of whom are sisters. The sisters work with their dad at the family bar/night club. The plot revolves around something tragic happening and the five friends trying to deal and grow from it? (probably something to do with the night club)I haven't seen it so I have no idea what the tragic event is. I didn’t know any of the songs before this musical but it’s quite catchy and fun. French Language - Episode 1

An anon asked me a few days ago to talk about the French langage a bit more, with examples taken from skam france

First, let me say that I am in no way a French langage specialist, so this post is just about my experience with French, and French culture, which is influenced by where I lived. I am not from Paris.

But let's talk about French.

There are four levels of French, I would call them:

"Familiar French" : it's the way people talk with friends or family, in non formal conversations. Sentences are simplified, we pronounce words quicker, etc..

"Polished French" is the 'correct' French, you are more careful of what you are saying. Sentences are longer, sometimes more complex. We use words that we don't often use. It's basically when you say something the same way that you would write it.

It’s always hard to realize your own strengths... I think I’m pretty good at writing action-y things? I’ve been getting SO MUCH love for “Echoes” in the past few days that I am a literal MESS over everyone just telling me how thankful they are that I decided to pick this concept up.Original fiction wise, I think I’ll never be over the couple of reviews I got on two short stories I sent in for a competition. I didn’t win or anything, but the reviews were very well thought-out and very uplifting, telling me I had written great things and interesting concepts, and that I’d go far if I kept this up. La semaine dernière, L. m’avait demandé si j’accepterais de participer à une démonstration de tir à l’arc à cheval. J’ai passé la semaine à m’entraîner à pied dans l’espoir de pouvoir présenter quelque chose de potable.

C’est avec un grand bonheur et un peu de soulagement que j’ai retrouvé On Est. Il faisait très chaud dans les écuries, et le pansage complet que j’ai prodigué à mon beau bai s’est avéré un peu physique. Heureusement, lui reste tranquille à manger un peu de foin dans un coin du box. Quelques minutes avant de me diriger vers le manège, j’échange quelques mots avec K., un cavalier que je ne connaissais pas, qui n’a apparemment jamais touché un arc de sa vie, mais va participer à la démonstration.

Il est l’heure. Mon cheval dans la main droite, mon arc dans la main gauche, on va bien vite se mettre à l’ombre dans le manège. J’ai posé ma caméra dans un coin dans l’espoir de filmer cette petite séance, mais j’ai complètement raté le cadrage, donc pas de vidéo. 

Une fois tout le monde prêt, on vient s’arrêter dans le couloir pour tirer une première flèche à l’arrêt. Pour le coup, ça ne change pas grand chose à ce que j’ai l’habitude de faire, et le “poc” de l’impact de ma flèche sur la cible est très satisfaisant. Ensuite on continue, au pas, puis au trot, puis au galop (individuellement, et ensuite en groupe).

Là, ma précision en a pris un coup, là encore. Je me sens à l’aise sur On Est, je suis habitué·e à mon arc, mais pas aux flèches à ventouse, et j’avais oublié à quel point ma flèche rebondit sur le repose-flèche avec le mouvement. Je sais bien que pour ça il faudrait que je mette ma flèche de l’autre côté avec une technique mongole, mais j’en ai moins l’habitude et je n’ai rien pour protéger mon pouce. Du coup, en général, je passe juste un peu trop à gauche de la cible, mais à la bonne hauteur, ou un peu à droite et trop bas. C’est un peu frustrant, mais pas assez pour gâcher mon moment. Je galope tranquillement, les deux mains sur mon arc, je me sens libre, c’est bien.

Dommage que je n’ai pas de vidéo. Une autre fois j’espère ! Après la séance, je suis resté·e faire quelques papouilles à On Est. Il est vraiment cool, ce cheval.

A few minutes before going to the arena, I exchanged a few words with K., a rider I didn't know, who had apparently never touched a bow in his life but was still going to take part in the demo.

Time to go. My horse in my right hand, my bow in my left hand. We went to the indoor arena, which was great because we got to be in the shade instead of burning outside. I put my camera in a corner hoping to film this short session, but I did not check the framing and it turned out to be completely wrong. So, no video.

Once everyone was ready, we all stopped in the lane along the wall to shoot a first arrow from the halt. That was not very different from what I've been training to do, and the sound of the impact of my arrow against the target was very satisfying. Then we continued, at the walk, at the trot, and then at the canter (individually, then in groups).

There, my accuracy apparently flew out of the window. I was comfortable with On Est, and I am used to my bow. However, I am not used to suction cup arrows, and I had forgotten how badly my arrow tends to bounce on the arrow rest because of the motion of the horse. I know that the solution would be to have my arrow on the right side and use a thumb release, but I'm not used to it and I don't have a thumb ring. In the end, most of my arrows flew just a few centimetres to the left of the target, but at the correct height, or a little to the right and too low.  It is a little frustrating, but not enough to spoil the moment. I cantered quietly, both hands on my bow, feeling free. It was good.

Shame I don't have a video. Another time I hope! After the session, I stayed for a bit to cuddle with On Est. What a wonderful horse he is.
