Sick note

I am beset by the dreaded lurgy (unknown whether the evil 'Rona or just generic snout plague), and the words won't word; only the vibes vibe, so I am re-reading and re-watching.

To the people like @busarewski @thebansacredbanned @alybaly282 @bbcphile @koaly-ty @fandoms1reality0 @yijiangchunshui1203 @quicklymybasement who often like my announcement posts for "Detoxify", I am very sorry to not provide an instalment today.

My cat is providing purr therapy, I have hot chai tea and cozy lofi jazz videos on YouTube; I hope to be better and write again for Saturday.

Oh, and if there's anything any of you (or my other readers) would like to see before the story ends in February, any character from any of the canons involved that you'd like to meet the City AU version of, or anybody that would be fun to see interacting, hit me up! I know where I am going, but there is a lot of latitude along the way; I am game to bring anyone, or throw any random characters into situations together to see what happens.

Hi! Do you guys have anything for 24 hour livestreams? Like the ones you see on Twitch?

That we do!! We weren't sure what type you were looking for specifically, so here's a spread:

What was supposed to be a simple 24 hour gaming livestream for charity turns into something completely different at hour six when Character A sees a massive influx of alarmed messages in their chat. Their viewers seemed to be freaking out about something they saw in Character A's webcam, but upon further inspection, they don't see anything...yet. Each hour brings new horrors as Character A attempts to navigate a large charity livestream, their unsettled chat, and a new entity that seems to have found their way into Character A's home.

While gaming during a 24-hour livestream, uber-popular gamers Characters A, B, C, & D do their best to complete large event quests in their favorite open-world RPG. This, however, is easier said than done when they realize their viewers are more than capable of stream sniping them and sabotaging their progress.

Popular 'Just Chatting' streamer Character A has an amazing idea: they'd do a 24-hour charity livestream where they host their three friends at their apartment for a sleepover simulator. The four prep all the necessary games, food, sleeping bags, etc. for an incredible 24 hour cozy event. They streamed multiple POVs, did prank calls, made sickly sweet snacks, played Truth or Dare, etc. Needless to say, the viewers seemed to like their games of 'Seven Minutes in Heaven' the most.

"I wanted to spice up my usual content from the rest during my 24-hour charity livestream, so I decided the best way to do that would be to rent out a barebones storage pod and lock myself in for the 24 hour period while completing dares from my chat. It was going well until something happened...now, I need to follow my untrustworthy chat's advice or I'm going to die." AU

Swatting was supposed to be a thing of the past, but Characters A and B realize that their viewers were more immature than they expected when they heard someone rapidly knocking at their door and yelling to be let in. They both swallow thickly before unlocking the latch and see four fully-rigged officers pile into the room. It was easy to explain the misunderstanding, but the animal bones scattered around the apartment from their occult arts and crafts activity from Hour 4? Not so much.

"Doing a 24-hour charity livestream was always a dream of mine, so my best friends and I decided to make it a reality. We hooked up a few devices for the stream and took to the streets for a 24-hour city experience livestream where we went to all our favorite places within 24-hours, no stops, no breaks -- in fact, we even locked the devices to continue streaming no matter what. We had an amazing first four hours with our chat, but then upon further inspection, we realized that we were missing our main device, the one that houses the charity accounts and would automatically transfer the funds once the 24 hours were up. Most of us were sobbing uncontrollably because we hadn't just lost a device, but the thousands our viewers had donated too. Upon further investigation, we realized that we had a stroke of luck: the stream was still locked on. With the help of our chat, we set off in the remaining 19 hours to track down the device and save our charity livestream." AU

University/City AU (DGM)

Going off of this post, I’m now thinking of what some DGM characters would study in general in a university/city AU setting (maybe taking place somewhere like NYC?). These ideas are mostly just for fun and I’m not actively thinking of writing anything with it, but I figured I’d share what’s on my mind. :3

Alma Karma — Starting with him because I’m biased and he is a favorite, but he’s majoring in fashion and textile design! Alma loves playing with different colors and fabrics to create vibrant outfits. He definitely doesn’t ascribe to certain gender norms, either, and likes to have a lot of freedom with his designs. (He also loves making clothes for his friends, and always wants to recruit them for modeling. XD) He’s also pursuing a minor in photography.

Lenalee Lee — She’s majoring in fashion design like Alma, but specifically, she’s focusing on shoes! She’s probably in a lot of classes with Alma, and they tend to partner up for projects and photo collaborations. Lenalee is probably also focused on accessories like handbags, and is working toward an internship with Anita (who is a well-known fashion designer in this AU >.>). Lenalee also likely minors in business, since she’s the type to want to know how to manage things. 

Allen Walker — Originally, Allen likely planned to pursue a degree in criminal justice. His altruistic nature makes him want to do good and make things better for others, but I can see him getting disenchanted with that field. So, he likely switches to political science to given him a broader scope of things to work with. (He lands on wanting to do youth outreach, which I think suits him. :3) He hasn’t decided to pursue a minor, but tends to get busy helping his friends with their own projects. (He loves to taste test whatever Link bakes. XD)

Lavi Bookman — Double major in library sciences and history! Lavi comes from a background of library and museum archivists, so he’s one to follow that path. He’s super fascinated with book collections and history (especially with the broad scope it covers), and is working toward an internship at a large, well-known library in the city everyone lives in. (Since he’s double majoring, he’s not planning to get a minor at the moment — but he probably has some English literature classes he opts into. He’s a fast reader with an eidetic memory.)

Kanda Yuu — He’s majoring in botany and minoring in photography! Kanda isn’t exactly a science-oriented person, but he likes working with plants and gardens in his free time. He doesn’t like to admit it, but he does have an artistic eye for floral arrangements (he’s very particular about organizing things), and likes to take photos of them. Because of this, he works part-time as a florist when he’s not overloaded with classes. (Since he’s minoring in photography, he also shares some classes with Alma.)

Howard Link — His family likely expected him to go into law (and he considered it), but Link ended up doing a culinary arts program! Specifically for baking and pastry making. While it has always been a hobby of his, he’s ended up taking it very seriously and wants to eventually open his own bakery shop one day. With that in mind, he’s double majoring in the culinary program and business (and probably shares some classes with Lenalee).

Johnny Gill —Biochemistry! Johnny has always been interested in the sciences, and decides to pursue biochemistry. He’s likely contemplating pursuing biotechnology (specifically industrial as opposed to medicinal) in the long run, and is really interested in innovation and improving things in day-to-day life for people. A lot of his classes cross over with Kanda’s, actually, so they interact a lot. (For whatever reason, in this AU I imagine he’s Kanda’s roommate. XD)

That’s all I have for now! I might add more if others are interested about this AU, but wanted to get this out of my system while it’s fresh on my mind. ^^

National Mason Jar Day & Cities for Life Day & Computer Security Day & National Stay at Home Because You’re Well Day

Person A is a god working for the government that found them, they get a nice estate that is known to the public as a secret government zone that people spread rumors and conspiracies about. But Person A’s powers are hardly anything most people would guess, and border on boring and mundane in comparison to the various theories. Person A has the ability to tell how healthy a city is (emotionally, physically, financially, etc.) by smelling the air from it. Person B is the government employee who goes around collecting the air of cities in jars for Person A to sample and then give an analysis of the destiny of that city and what areas need to be worked on to avoid future catastrophe. Person A likes their job because they can help people through this method, as the government uses their insights to make change. But Person B gets sent to collect a sample from their home town and finds out that it’s very unhealthy, but that because of the majority of the population being poor, that the government plans to let tragedy befall it and are instead pulling the resources it has as they are wasted on a place that is doomed anyway. Person B decides to tell Person A the government’s plan, since Person A only agreed to the gig because they could help people. And Person A agrees to run away with them to try to solve the city’s problems by visiting and working with the people there personally.

A's favorite past time is to get snacks and drinks at a local cafe, go down to the piers at the edge of the bay, and eat while watching the sea lions fight over sunbathing spots and push each other into the water. B doesn't quite understand the appeal, but when A takes them for the first time the two quickly start making up storylines for all of the sea lion drama and laughing so hard their drinks almost go up their noses.

WIP Wednesday

From the last chapter of 'Detoxify' -- the Lotus Trio sign their final statements about the whole Jiao Liqiao desaster while hanging out in the Sui-Tang kitchen. Sui Zhou PoV.

“Enough with the banter,” Di Feisheng said. “I want all this behind me. It was very unpleasant, but it ended with profit for everybody, so I’m fine with it. Give me the papers I am to sign so I can read all the text and then sign them. If they mention Xiangyi or Xiaobao, I’ll ask them, of course.”

Sui Zhou dropped the noodles into the boiling water and started the wok for the beef part, spring onions going in first.

The Lotus guys each took their own folders and started reading, occasionally conferring with each other in whispers while they went through their own statements, making sure it really was what they had said.

“I didn’t say that, that’s much too polite,” Di Feisheng said at one point. “I would never…”

“They wouldn’t write ‘cunt’ in an official document,” Li Lianhua said.

“I wouldn’t say cunt, either,” Di Feisheng said. “I think I said bitch.”

“They wouldn’t write bitch, either,” Fang Duobing said.

Headed Up AU

Being able to fly a kite in a park is special. Character A had been doing it all their life, so they certainly didn’t plan to stop now that they’ve moved to a big city. Sure, the buildings were tall and the parks were small, but that didn’t mean they had to stop. 

On a particularly windy day, however, they lose control of their sturdily-built kite and it rockets through the air, finding an open window of a nearby large apartment building and whacking Character B on the forehead. They were just watering their plants, how could they have expected a massive projectile knocking them out on the 25th floor??

Needless to say, Character A freaks out and desperately tries to break into the building and identify the room of their victim (not for anything nefarious, of course, but that kite was like reeeeeeeeally expensive so...).
