hey everyone! i’m a new studyblr, and i keep seeing people introducing themselves; so i thought i’d do it as well! i want to keep myself motivated once school starts and over the summer! 

about me:

- i’m turning 16 in august; i am currently 15

I can’t seem to find an official 100 days of DA post that hasn’t been deleted, so I decided to make my own! If you have one of your own or know of one, send it to me and i’ll add it for more resources!

hi guys! today i went to the store with my mom so i can get new pants for work and some other goodies. i got some pretty cute clothes. i tried a cauliflower crust pizza today, and i definitely recommend. 

i’ve been working on a full length fanfiction since february and i’ve been reaching for a goal of at least 2000 words per chapter (pretty long), so it takes more time, but writers block has fully taken over my mind since march and i really need to get back to writing. i’m only on chapter four. i am also looking for beta’s! if you’re into ryden or just looking to beta anything, please let me know! 

so that’s what i’ve been working on today, along with some planning for said fic.

July 29th:  Have you done or are you planning to do any activities (such as work experience, summer schools or watching lectures) other than normal work during the summer?

i have a job now, if that counts. i thought about doing summer school but my mom didn’t want to risk it and also i wanted to study at my own pace this summer to wind down for next year where i’ll be taking 3 AP’s. I’ve never taken AP classes before. i am looking into classes on Edx.com that i will be starting soon.

lughnasadh studies~

hello everyone, i have returned! i’ve finally found some free time to make some content to post! i’m off tomorrow and that’s it, so i might find some content and queue it. 

after getting off work, i worked on planning the month ahead. it’s crazy to believe it’s already August when it feels like just yesterday it was March 13th, and school had not been canceled.

 i’ve been listening to Raconte Moi by Stacey Kent recently, so check that out if you’re looking for some good French tunes! french music has been a staple for my study life recently. it’s honestly so soothing in nature. 

as for studying, today i didn’t do academic studying.. i did more of a spiritual study, as you could say. august 1st is the pagan holiday lughnasadh (more commonly known as lammas) and as a baby witch, i wanted to get some research done on the origins and how to properly celebrate. through that i found a lavander honey bread that i’ll be sure to try, if i can get dried lavander where i live! i shall let you know how it goes. 

last night i went down one of those google rabbit holes last night. i was drinking some green tea and i was wondering what civilization was the first to drink tea. and then i forgot what years the 17th century was, because the whole ‘1601-1700 is the 17th century instead of 1700-1800′ thing confuses me from time to time. then, all the sudden, i was reading for about an hour on the middle ages. then, on to the renascence. which i learned an english scholar was burned at the stake for translating the bible into english because in the 14th century it was a death penalty charge, for some reason?? 

enough rambling about my midnight search history.. 

i’m going to keep going with the 2020 Summer Study Challenge by @myhoneststudyblr​ just with today’s entry on. 

today’s question: how do you stay motivated to study during the summer?

well, i personally like to revise subjects im passionate about, like the holocaust or logic. if it’s not something im passionate about, i won’t do it unless i have to. my sheer passion alone is enough to motivate me.

07·11·20\\ haven't read the iliad since 6th grade. you know you went to a magnet school when you're required to read the classics in middle school. however, i don't mind. it was a good experience reading Shakespeare all through middle school.

i also attempted to make overnight oats. not sure if i got the consistency right but they're good! also, the elvis mug💕

needing advice

i really want to learn dead languages like latin and ancient greek. i know i can use duolingo for latin but i don’t like duolingo. does anyone have free websites for learning these languages or links to cheap books i can buy?

times like these, i’m wishing i hadn’t failed 6th grade math so i could take my second year of latin in 7th grade with an actual competent teacher instead of study hall. oh well, i’ll just have to learn it on my own

July 14th: Have your plans changed at all due to the pandemic?

well, i think everyone’s plans have changed indirectly. we can’t do a lot of stuff that we used to, so all plans we haven’t even made yet have changed to fit the guidelines. 

for me personally, my chemical romance was postponed for next year which bums me out.
