my best friend, my lifeline, loser of the postgame mario kart competition, quintin jerome hughes, has best the canucks franchise record for most multi point games by a defenseman last night with his 69th (😏) game! I'M SO UNBELIEVABLY PROUD OF YOU, HUGGY BEAR! this is the second record (that isn't his own) he's broken this season, and we're not even halfway through! he also has the most points from all defenseman in the league currently! (10th overall!)

and demmer had his 100th career win tonight! we love a milestone!

and luke played, too! he was definitely there!

i’m so proud of the valiant effort and fight everyone on the ice put into the game tonight! especially colin! i love colin! go colin! i’ll be mailing jack your first goal trophy!

yourusername hi! the devils put in an insane amount of effort and came back from a three goal deficit at the beginning of the third. the canucks basically doubled their amount of offensive zone time and yet the devils still pushed through all their adversity and was so close in the end. you're dismissing all of the other players great work and play by claiming that just jack alone would've changed that. yeah, he probably would've made an impact, but the canucks have been in the top ten of the league all season and nico daws still held his own pretty well and stopped a good portion of their shots against a team that was top of the league for a hot second and was 5th coming into the game. every devils player played to the best of their abilities and there were some unlikely heroes, another thing you're dismissing. jack is my brother and i love him, but he is not the only player on the devils. it's a team. a team that came so close in the end with almost half of the amount of sog. don't dismiss the rest of the team. be proud of them all.

1000 Thoughts, 100th Post and A cup of coffee🤍

Helloooo! welcome to my 100th Post!

I wanted something very meaningful to be my 100th post and previously I was going with talking about something that I read in Simu Liu's memoir and had too much to comment about from my personal experience and then I went nah. I created a Tumblr account with a motive to just speak whatever I feel in that moment and that exactly should be my 100th post as well, right?

So here I'm sipping on my coffee and typing away my emotions as a celebration to having written 100 posts on Tumblr.

First of, I wanna start with the fact that I'm a law graduate and as well as an enrolled advocate. Achieved something at the age of 25 :) so behind in life, Yay! (I'm being sarcastic with that yay, Just FYI) Although I wish to continue my higher studies abroad and I'm slightly lazing of there but I'll get there. I think I will - Please pray for me :)

Other than that I'm super invested into a Boys' Love show - Love In The Air telecasts every Thursday from 18th August 2022.and makes me feel super single :) and I MEAN IT. Apart from the single hood acknowledgement from a frictional show I have also been zoning in and out of various thoughts. I think I've too much free time at hand. anyway,

Most of the thoughts I guess suggest me that I should sit down and start working on a time machine and travel back in time to lash out onto all those people who left a scar on me. Have you ever had that hesitation in doing something because you fear the reaction or result could trigger an emotion so unhealthy that it will take away all your growth? If No great because having them is a curse. It literally stops you from doing everything and makes you regret life so pathetically. You wanna know how I know? Answer: I'm suffering from said hesitation and its repercussions. Yay Me!

A lot of these scars however comes from a place that should have been the healthiest place for a young mind- Yup it's school. It's the Teachers. How ironically unfortunate :) I'm fighting my tears back writing this because How could you do that to a young child? You were suppose to be the mature one amongst us then how did it end up like this? Why am I wiping my tears away and feeling petrified of those memories, which by the way, are suppose to be happy and ever lasting. Why am I left feeling like this? Sometimes I'm left questioning myself wether I deserved these traumas and maybe I was just a horrible human being to began with and these teachers had not done any wrong. Maybe.

Because other than that I cannot bring myself to understand why would they do this to a child, to me? I have such vivid memories of those moments even though decades have passed yet one normal moment out of nowhere those memories will be triggered and I'll be left wobbling, trying to grasp that moment. All of the growth and healing I did all these years shattered in seconds and all those insecurities and pain comes rushing back.

I missed school days a lot because my parents were laid back and also I was pretty sick child too. So I would be unprepared and made stupid mistakes and somehow that made me the receiver of disdain and annoyed look from my teachers. I still remember those eyes full of anger and irritation directed towards me. They did absolutely nothing to hide their expressions and words in front of the entire class of 35-40 students. Students who would then have the exact impression of me - annoying kid.

Once in 4th standard my English teacher didn't shy away from making fun of my walking - she called me out "You walk like a Duck" and proceeded to demonstrate that funny duck walk. You know what stayed after the class ended? That jokes on everyone's mouth and feet. Taunts kept coming in, physical jokes lasted long enough. I did complaint to the teacher and that English Teacher did tell the class to not make fun but the damage was done. You know how long that joke lasted? I was in 8th Standard and got shuffled from my section to a new one and one of my old classmate who I had no contact from 6th standard onwards - demonstrated that funny duck walk as my introduction to her friends.

In 5th standard I was giving my science unit test and my parents were waiting for me in the reception because I had a train to catch for outstation and I remember rushing my paper while sitting outside the class (those who were still writing the paper were asked to sit outside the class) while the rest were in the class. The BEST student was with the teacher helping her arranging and collecting the answer sheets. and when I submitted my sheets (Oh Goodness why do I remember all of this so vividly!) she flipped through my sheets, saw a mistake, snarked at it and then showed it to the BEST student and then both of them giggled at my mistake. Somewhere along the line my confident dipped too.

I was a slow child, it took me time to understand the concept- spellings were difficult for me. I kept mixing up letters and them laughing at me, making fun of me only distanced me from anything academic.

I could've done better academically had these teachers paid little more interest in the lacking behind student than the topper. You know how I know? Because in 8th standard my Social Studies teacher ended up making my fun for scoring low marks and it was so snarky and humiliating that in next week's test I scored 27/30. and the teenager me didn't shy away from giving her a look that day while she handed out my paper.

Then comes my P.T teacher from Boarding school, Dehra Dun. That woman found every petty reason to call me out in assembly, shame me and humiliate me. She went ahead with also trying to pair me with one of her friend's school's student. Yeah she went ahead and clicked a photo of mine to sent it to that guy. And when I complained my own very wonderful classmates turned at me blaming me for taking it too far by complaining not just talking it out with her. WHY THE FUCK WOULD I TALK IT OUT WITH HER. THAT WOMAN JUST SENT A PHOTO OF MINE TO SOMEONE.

Then comes the most horrible person in name of a teacher- Oh Christ. My heart dips at her image. She created such an environment for me that I started on missing on my meals (I was in boarding school) because she use to be there. I was missing on breakfast, literally inhaling my whatever portion of lunch I had in plate to just exit the mess before her entrance or before we made any eye contact. Dinner time- since I couldn't escape, I would have my head lowered and finish my meal without any appetite. She would humiliate me in front of the entire boarding school and then go ahead and tell that gossip to the entire school faculty. Resulting in my isolation and snatching away my peace of mind. She had me in such a toxic environment that I ended up going absolute silent for 7-10 days. Spoke bare minimum almost next nothing. and I happen to be a very talkative girl. She went around spreading rumours about me. Oh Dear Lord! Eventually the only relation I had with her (because I was suppose to have one) was of material. I was only talking to her because I had work from her. That woman in the authority of House Mistress (a position in Boarding school) called me names in public, got my boyfriend against me and had me isolated. Thanks to her my insecurities have risen a new level. I find myself questioning everything and being afraid of absolutely everything in this world.

And no I'm not saying that I was not a fault. I made mistakes- did things that were wrong. I was supposed to be corrected but at this cost? was this the only way? is this how it's suppose to be? Couldn't these teachers taken a better way out of my problems? With a child and a teenager was this the only way of teaching me about the world? Should I be traumatised to learn the way of the world?

Thousand of such thoughts keep lingering my mind all these times. keeping me up at night and shallow in life.

hi guys! today i went to the store with my mom so i can get new pants for work and some other goodies. i got some pretty cute clothes. i tried a cauliflower crust pizza today, and i definitely recommend. 

i’ve been working on a full length fanfiction since february and i’ve been reaching for a goal of at least 2000 words per chapter (pretty long), so it takes more time, but writers block has fully taken over my mind since march and i really need to get back to writing. i’m only on chapter four. i am also looking for beta’s! if you’re into ryden or just looking to beta anything, please let me know! 

so that’s what i’ve been working on today, along with some planning for said fic.

i have a job now, if that counts. i thought about doing summer school but my mom didn’t want to risk it and also i wanted to study at my own pace this summer to wind down for next year where i’ll be taking 3 AP’s. I’ve never taken AP classes before. i am looking into classes on Edx.com that i will be starting soon.

Just this once surprisingly, it’s not Dark that manages to calm Eric down from his own restless, nervous, spiraling thoughts. It’s not Dark replacing the piercing ringing that usually follows him with a deep, low hum to help relax and ease Eric’s restless, anxious muscles.

It’s not Bing or the Jims either, acting as distractions to keep his clawed ‘fingers’ away from his skin. Not Bing with a new skateboarding trick or ‘a hot new track’ to show him and direct Eric’s attention to. Not the Jims with an ‘impromptu interview’ to ease Eric’s focus onto a different train of thought and away from the scratching and stomach-turning spiraling.

It’s not them, either.

Instead, it’s King.

It’s King who, with the soft chattering of one of his squirrel subjects accompanying him, takes over Eric’s attention. It’s King who helps Eric relax, letting him gently pet and give careful ‘scritches’ to King’s companion; the same claws directed at his own wings just moments ago. It’s King who, despite understanding common squirrels better than even more common humans, understands Eric and lets him chirp and chatter away.

It’s King who gives Eric (and his skin) a bit of peace, even if it’s just for a while.

Reading Siege and Storm because I hate myself

So... at first I was like - huh, this isn’t as bad as I thought, but the moment Alina gets introspective, it all goes to hell.

Like, she’s being physically made sick by not using her powers, which is making her feel useless - like, she says, pretty much verbatim: “The only thing I was ever good at was being a Sun Summoner and I’m not that anymore.”

I’m gonna beat those paragraphs over the head of anyone, who says Alina got a good ending.

I’ve also noticed just how often the like “I pushed that thought away” is used and more often than not, it’s used on thoughts that should probably not be pushed away.

Ah, yes, here he comes, my boy Darkles, being the dramatic bitch he always is. We get it, you’re the hot villain, tempting the good and pure heroine away from being good and pure.

And I’m just now realizing how many times in this chapter has Alina lamented their lack of privacy. We have to ensure the reader doesn’t hink she’s *gasp* sleeping with Mal.

Chapter 2

What?

Alina is tripping balls while being put under by a Heartrender, got it.

Darkling is being the voice of reason, but I’m getting the distinct feeling it won’t last.

Ivan gets one point, because Alina is in fact a traitor, but he’s also being a cunt, so it doesn’t really count.

Alina at Sturmhond: Do you even care about Ravka?

Me at Alina: Do you?

Chapter 3

“Mermaids are not real”. I’m pretty sure they are in the Grishaverse.

My boy Darkles is still making sense, but Alina is dedicated to being against him just for the hell of it, it seems.

Did this bitch just throw a tantrum, because he told her, what we can assume is the truth? Okay. Like, I get that she’s at best 18, but still. Not exactly the type of protagonist whose head I like being in.

And in that moment, dozens of smut fics were born.

Chapter 4

Sturmhond is a funny bitch, I’ll give him that.

And this entire conversation, it seems like Mal’s entire purpose is to stand behind Alina threateningly and repeat what she said, lol.

I’d like to remind Alina (and LB) that a king in an absolutist monarchy (which is what Ravka appears to be) is very much a tyrant. Don’t make it sound like Ravka didn’t have a tyrant before. And at the very least, my boy Darkles seems pretty competent.

I hate Mal. Dude, this is your girlfriend, maybe like... listen to her? Don’t bludgeon her with the one other guy she was kinda-sorta with, when you are a well known manwhore?

You feel bad for the Volcra but not for the people you’ve left for dead in the Fold last time? Okay.

I’m starting to get why people were calling Nikolai “Darkling light”. Definitelly seems appropriate.

Mal, calm the fuck down, that was the least romantic proposal I’ve ever heard and you know it.

You two didn’t even let Alina get a word in for the last page. What right do you have to her, Mal, huh? Nikolai is making sense and you’re being an idiot.

So... Baghra’s plan in book 1 really had been to just have Alina run away and hope for the best? Jesus Christ, lady. I’m not saying she deserved to have her eyes taken away, but she is definitelly a trash person and I’m not surprised her son turned out the way he did.

Also, I’m fairly certain that Baghra is literally slowly killing herself - that the reason she looks so old and frail is because she’s started to supress her power and it’s literally killing her, because, you know, she’s bonkers old.

Do you know if there's any new word on Immortality's premiere date? The last rumor said April 8th which came and went but now I've been hearing June or July?

OK, controlling my incipient nervous break down now.

Previously, it was going to air in April - Douban had April 15 listed, there were rumors about April months back, and there was a bunch of not direct but still tied in promotion that were going to happen around that time frame.

Then, a few days ago, April 15 date got removed from Douban, an official account made a very veiled and indirect post that basically told everyone “yeah, not any time soon, sorry” and there went April.

There have been plenty of rumors even before all that to the effect of if HYX won’t make April, they are unlikely to air this year. That may or may not be true (there are also rumors that after Word of Honor was so popular, there may not be any other BLs this year at all) but even if not, it most likely cannot air before October because no “problematic” dramas are supposed air in second and third quarters of the year, and the closer it gets to the date for the celebration for the founding of the Chinese Communist Party, the antsier the censors get - i.e., February was better than March, March was better than April, April is better than May, May is better than June etc. I am honestly not sure how Sha Po Lang makers were hoping to release their adaptation in May, for example.

And unless Tencent goes literally insane and censors go insane with them, it is highly unlikely to air in June and utterly impossible to air in July since July will be the height of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party (which was founded July 21, 1921) and any costume drama unless it’s about brave communists would have a problem trying to air then, let alone an adaptation of a BL novel.

So, I think October earliest and that is if the rumor about no BL for the rest of 2021 is not true AND if it doesn’t mean it needs to be re-submitted for another censorship run and possibly re-edited (whether because its original approval expires or because censors get twitchy and want to make more cuts.) Honestly, I would be pleasantly surprised if it airs this year. I would be even more pleasantly surprised if it’s not cut further into some unrecognizable shape, but hey - who the hell knows ANYTHING!

This was one of the only two BL adaptations out of all the spate of the upcoming ones I was looking forward to (the other being Sha Po Lang which is having its own problems right now) and I feel like the Universe kind of hates me, teasing me and then snatching it away. I guess I get a drama about weaving instead. Yay.

Ranking the latest S4 ML episodes

0So I’ve made two previous ranking lists, one for the first 9 episodes of ML S4 released, then for the next 5, so now I’m gonna rank the most recent 6 episodes: Hack-san, Simpleman, Dearest Family, Glaciator 2, Ephemeral, and Gabriel Agreste. Beware of spoilers!

6. Simpleman

No surprises here. This episode had “for little kids” stamped across it in flashing bright neon letters. Everyone else was dumbed down (which to be fair, is the akuma’s power) so the kindergarteners could save the day. It had some funny Marinette fantasies and a little Adrienette goodness, but overall it’s a very skippable episode.

5. Ephemeral

This one is hard to rank. I massively enjoyed it when it first came out, had a high for the rest of the day in fact, but there were some pretty massive downsides and things that didn’t work so well if you thought about them. A lot of individual moments worked well - Ladybug thinking Chat was joking about being Adrien was pretty funny, and I thought her trying to figure out who the “real” Adrien was, and gradually being able to see Adrien and Chat Noir as one, Adrien getting the zoomies after revealing his identity, Plagg trying to cataclysm Gabriel, and Astrochat and Cosmobug flying through space, but there were some pretty negative bits too.

Luka keeps it secret that he knows Adrien’s and Marinette’s identities for unknown reasons, even though it’s immediately relevant to the situation, and Marinette made a really messed-up plan, deciding to lie to her partner about wanting a full reveal in order to manipulate and trick him into revealing his identity to a third party and resetting everyone’s memories except for Luka’s using the Snake Miraculous, so Chat would never have a clue that she’d done any of it. I can’t say it’s out of character since it stems from regular character traits she’s had throughout the show (seriously I considered making a post, but I didn’t want to start a huge round of Marinette salt unprovoked), but it IS disappointing, and was bad enough to cause a lot of Lovesquare shippers to Abandon Ship, and even the show. 

I’m just hoping that the Ladynoir conflict helps bring Ladybug’s and Chat Noir’s relationship back into line, so it’s less lopsided than it is now.

4. Dearest Family

This episode was a victim of its own hype. It got a lot of teasers way in advance, plus it’s the 99th episode, leading into the much-hyped 100th episode and... it was a pretty normal episode. It had some funny Ladybug moments with her picking up Tikki’s cravings, some nice Ladynoir moments, and great interactions between Tikki and Marinette, with Marinette letting her know that she didn’t need to hide the less-desirable parts of herself for fear of being rejected. Also feral!Tikki was awesome, we got some nice character development for her! Not much plot stuff, but it was fine, just not as exciting as many of us had hopes.

3. Hack-san

Hello Alyadrien, my sweet beloved! Alya was amazing this episode, loved her trying to come up with an awesome hero name the whole time. Adrien getting to be pissed was good too, like seeing him getting to be frustrated about not being told stuff. And him and Scarabella bonding at the wax museum, both of them being the same sort of cheesy, posing dorks, was just brilliant. More of them please!

Marinette knocking Robostus out with a frying pan was gold, and YAY ALYA, for making sure that Marinette talked to her partner about his feelings and worries! 

2. Glaciator 2

If you want to swap this entry with number 1, I wouldn’t object. The whole “Chat keeping on making comments about wanting to be in a relationship” thing was handled pretty well, especially with Adrien KNOWING he needs to find some sort of way to get a handle on his feelings so as not to hurt Ladybug. I really felt for him during his coping sequences, he really didn’t know what to do. It felt a lot like Marinette’s reaction to the Luka breakup in Truth, actually, complete with denial.

Mostly though, I loved the Marichat. The Buttercup confession scenes are gonna be feeding the fandom for a long time, and we got to see how self-aware Marinette is about her need to control circumstances to try to avoid getting rejected, to the point of making up elaborate fantasies, rather than focusing on the here-and-now.

1. Gabriel Agreste

Maybe I’ll change my mind on the ranking after it’s had time to simmer, but right now, I think it was one of the best episodes of the season. 

Marinette’s “get Chloe’s phone” sideplot was fun, though ultimately filler. Didn’t mind too much though, since we got to see her in a suit and moustache, along with some great fairy tale illustrations with princess!Adrien and knight!Marinette.

Mostly though, FELIX. That magnificent bastard of a gremlin child is a lot more fun when he’s aimed squarely at Gabriel, and ONLY at Gabriel. Kid’s scary smart and doesn’t let himself be fooled by minor diversions. 

Plus the rich person mask party gives me MASSIVE conspiracy vibes that I am HERE for.
