genuine question, but what is the artist and writer community going to do now that ai looks to be growing more and more mainstream? because we all know companies are already not paying artists what they deserve and shorting them. we already know how bad the publishing industry is. we know how much people just dont respect art or the time people put into creativity. so now what? these ai projects are very well funded and backed by some of the richest people (OpenAi is Musk's).

the govt does not care if they are aware at all. it's the last thing on their mind.

companies are always going to find the cheapest way to do things, and they're not gonna shell out money to rightfully give an artist when they could use an ai.

we know that ai steals people's artwork, even dead artists. we know all the bad shitty things about ai. now what?

i think the best thing is some form of regulation. i think the best way is if we all get together, and push for some type of regulation because this is just unsustainable and will kill the art & writer community.

We are presenting a variety of approaches to generative texts, grounding the current hype for AI/LLM/chatbots in deeper literary histories. The critique of AI has a long tradition; conversely, literary experiments with more than human writing have long traditions, too.
