In 2015 my grandparents took me on my first trip to Italy. Our month-long trip began in Rome where we lived with my Zio Nino for two weeks. We spent the remaining two weeks in Pantelleria, a small island off of Sicily where which my maternal grandfather was born. I fell head over heels in love with this island, so much that I returned there exactly one year later on my own and stayed for another month. This photo was taken in Pantelleria, at a dammuso belonging to friends on my family.
