We did it, we survived the Pumpkin Splash! The lifeguards had to be out there for 3 solid hours. What troopers! This was the biggest crowd I have seen at the pool in a LONG time. By day’s end, we made 3.5 times more money than we used to on summer Saturdays pre-Covid! ‘Twas a successful day for the pool and management was even there to witness it. The only downside is that we’re going to be finding soggy pumpkin stems around the pool for a long time.
After we closed for the day, the senior guard patiently agreed to let me try out one of the kayaks. (I have never ridden in one, before.) It felt like sitting in a giant rollerblade and trying to nudge it in a straight line across an ice rink with a hockey stick but that was what made it so cool! I just did one awkward lap around the entire pool and I can already tell that my arms are going to be sore. Super fun. 10/10, would try again.
Oops, pool. 🤣🥰
