one of my comfort fics I reread quite often. so soft and sweet! it’s definitely a lengthy slow build, but I love it. it totally makes sense for jikook’s characters as well. everything feels very natural from when their relationship begins to how it blossoms throughout the story. they learn a lot together and strengthen each other. not mention they’re completely adorable🥺💓

why it looks better when I'm watching his focus version but in whole video taeyang did it way more better ? Im a Jimin biased but taeyang had my attention in that choreo video. In RUN BTS tiktok too he didn't danced well while yoongi did extremely well than jimin.
I'm not saying this as a dig or to be shady at you. (Although your message itself comes off pretty damn shady to JM, but whatever) I think that the problem is you have shallow focus. Idk how else to say it, since that's more a photography term but idk how to say it any other way. I'm not calling you shallow at all. I just mean that, you have a hard time paying full attention unless what you are watching is in the foreground. Everything else lowkey kinda blurs to you. It's the ONLY way I think you'd be saying this. Because OBJECTIVELY that's just simply not true. You can subjectively say that you preferred watching Taeyang or Suga dance, and that would be fine, but you cannot objectively state that they "did it way more better" than Jimin.
youtube
In both videos, Jimin was the better dancer technically with the moves, with the beat and with his dance lines, which were perfect 100% of the time, as always. And while I don't care about Taeyang either way, I am also Yoongi biased. He is an incredible dancer. I love watching him dance, he is amazing at it. Jimin is also Still a better dancer. In fact. I remember watching both the MV and the choreo tiktok and thinking it was almost a disservice to Taeyang to have to dance next to Jimin, because Jimins dancing is unmatchable most 98% of any other idols out there. I would've loved to see this choreo done with Taemin honestly. He probably would've been able to match Jimin WELL.
So again, by dismissing the FACT that Jimin performed both choreos in both videos on a technical scale, better.... the only thing left for me to assume here is that.... unless the person you are Watching is front and center in the video, you have a hard time focusing on them. Hence why the dance looked amazing to YOU when it was cropped to just Jimin. But when it was zoomed out, your focus then went to the dancer who was in front and then you wondered why you weren't as blown away by Jimin anymore. I can only assume it's because you weren't fully watching JIMIN at those times.
Sorry anon! You are free to disagree though and keep your opinions as they are. But that's all it is, an opinion. Hope you have a good day

Oh the trope that I can’t stop writing???
Person A (who has long since abandoned their passion for their art aka music, writing, dancing etc.) meets person B (an artist burnt out and losing their passion).
Together they rekindle their passion for their work and fall in love.

It seems that in Like crazy the dancers represent different sides of Jimin or the thoughts keeping him trapped, possibly both (a bit like in SMF2 as well). And army was right again about the woman being Jimin's reflection, in the choreo it's just more clear.
I think I want to see the music show performances and a possible dance practice before I can really form an opinion on the choreo though. The tonight show performance lacked a bit of something, not from Jimin's part, but from the backup dancers part. There wasn't really a connection between Jimin and them.
(The interactions between Jimmy Fallon and Jimin in those skits were funny. It's nice to see genuine appreciation for Jimin.)

I read this as it was being updated weekly and it’s still just as fantastic every time I reread! even with all the heavy topics discussed and serious scenes, there’s sooo much heart. jungkook and jimin couldn’t be more different when it comes to their personalities or passions. yet, they just click. seriously, their chemistry is *chef’s kiss*! they both discover the strength in being vulnerable and power of second chances. they learn that their pasts don’t define them or who they want to be. together, they fall in love-finding a home and safety in each other❤️
most importantly, I love how this story shows healing and recovery are never linear. everyone copes differently too. it’s a reminder that no matter what shitty hand we’re dealt in life, or the mistakes we’ve made-we’re worthy of love and happiness. ALSO to forgive ourselves! which is oftentimes the hardest thing to do (especially when it comes to trauma)

"Jimin and Jungkook's casualness isn't anything out of the ordinary but is still surprising"
'지민 (Jimin) Choreography Practice Sketch' write-up ✍️
Tumblr media
Among Jimin's gruesome practice sessions and strict work ethics leading up to Face promotions, we were given a peak into a few moments out of Jungkook's visit on day 2.
What struck me (and even k-armys) is that they didn't even bother to pretend to be formal in front of the staff and camera + crew, which just goes to show how long gone are their age barriers in communication and behavior. Once again I know we are all well aware of this development between them, however it is still a bit surprising seeing that happen in front of strangers- especially at their workplace and during work, which is a formal setting. The significance of this may appear minimal to you but in Korean culture, the way you talk to someone but also what you discuss and how you phrase it is highly influenced by the age hierarchy. Allowing someone speak to you informally (even in the public or formal settings) means they now have the same rank as you and their word is thus referred to/significant on the same level as yours and they can express things way more directly. In a highly hierarchical culture with a strong respect for authority (or anyone above) this presents a disruption in an embedded way of thought and behavior that is in the minds of all Koreans from the very early age. 반말 (banmal) of course does happen among many people even those who are not 친구 (friends- meaning people born in the same year) but it is not something that is just expected automatically and in any social setting. (I am excluding family ties here)
Thus, what the international audience may see and perceive only reading the translated subs:
"Ah cool, Jungkook came and supported Jimin"
Tumblr media
What the Korean audience (or anyone with just a little knowledge of the language and culture) sees and perceives:
"Oh wow they are speaking informally so naturally to each other, they seem so close"
Tumblr media
JK: "I'll cheer for/ support (you)"
(*said in a form that implies promise to someone for the future, informal tone)
JM: "Come again"
(*said as an informal command or request)
Other fav moments:
Tumblr media
JK: "Noo, do it once (for me)!"
(*주다 on its own means to give, gift someone something; in combination with other verbs like 하다 (to do) it implies doing something for someone; the most accurate but weird way in English to translate would be: "give a doing" Here Jungkook commands/requests Jimin to do the dance for him in an informal tone which sounds veeery casual, especially considering the dancers nearby 🫣)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
JK: "It's awesome/ You're awesome"
(*Again informal tone, the pronouns are not stated therefore both you/it could be inserted)
JK: "Will be cheering (for you), myself"
(Informal tone, said in a form that implies promise to someone for the future + Jungkook added 내가 at the end of the sentence to emphasize he personally will be cheering/supporting Jimin on. Reminder- Korean sentences don't need pronouns, therefore you can tell he used it for added emphasis)
All in all, Jungkook didn't use the formal level a single time besides when he was leaving and told Jimin + everyone else in the room to "take care" (수고하세요).
Finally, to anyone trying to use Jungkook's informal "nope" to Jimin's direct requests to get his ass over there more frequently probably didn't catch just how """seriously""" both of them were taking that convo, as you can see from Jungkook's smirk hidden under the mask ㅋㅋ
Tumblr media
Also just how long were they teasing and saying bye to each other if there is a cut and suddenly Jungkook is standing on the other side, still saying bye and holding hands with Jimin? 😆
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This short edit of Jungkook's appearance tells a lot about their dynamic and reassures everyone that can perceive the tone of their closeness. I'm glad we could see a little bit of it in this video!

A question I’ve had on my mind for a long time BPP: do you remember how Jungkook said the J on his ring finger stands for Jungkook? What do you think of that? He could’ve chosen not to answer that question but he answered it and said it means Jungkook. I’m as strong a jikooker as anyone but it made me wonder about the JM theory. Sorry if this is not in line with your blog themes, it’s OK if you ignore this ask, I just love your perspective on things and wanted to know what you think. Thanks BPP.
***
Hi Anon,
I'm pretty sure my opinion about this is unpopular lol, both with jikookers who think Jungkook didn't mean it when he said so, and with non-shippers who can't stand any sort of shipping theorizing about his tattoos.
But, yes I think Jungkook is telling the truth when he says the J on his ring finger stands for his name. It’s possible he's telling a small fib to downplay his attachment to Jimin - it wouldn’t be the first time he’s told a verified white lie to protect jikook’s honour, as it were, so yeah it’s possible that he lied. But I'm choosing to believe he's saying the truth when he says the J stands for his name. That is, as far as we can tell, the truth.
Something that is also true is Jimin calling himself ARMY. Jimin has referred to himself as ARMY several times over the years, in situations that make no sense and that get eyebrow raises from all the members.... except Jungkook. Which leads me to think it's something of an inside joke between jikook - that much is clear, but I also think it's something more than that. What that is exactly, I don't know, but here's my gut feeling about it:
Jungkook has said the person he connects most with on stage, when they are performing in front of ARMY, is Jimin. For all the members, performing on stage is their reason to live, but this is most explicitly said by Jimin and Jungkook. Some of their most heightened emotional experiences, have been on stage and/or tied to their performances. Whether it's Jimin breaking down during Rosebowl and Jungkook screaming that he loves ARMY and loves him; or Jimin crying during his performance of The Truth Untold and Jungkook moving to support him; or jikook changing the lyrics at the end of their performance of the same song and turning to look at each other as the lights dim; or a teenage Jungkook stopping in the middle of a performance to stare at an injured Jimin during their Red Bullet tour - the other members moving around them wondering why they are locked in a stare-down in the middle of the show; or how Jungkook broke down in tears during the last LY concert and turned to Jimin for comfort who then used his sweater paws to wipe Jungkook's tears...
Jikook have been doing this for years. Consistently. There's a peculiar chemistry they show only when they are on stage together in front of ARMY that frankly doesn't feel at all like the fanservice I'm used to seeing from idols. It's as though they lose certain inhibitions when they are in this heightened emotional state when performing. They connect on a level I can't fully explain to be honest, but I think it's a connection they both recognize and perceive that the presence of ARMY is one way to facilitate it.
Basically, at the intersection of Jungkook and ARMY, lies Jimin. Without Jimin convincing him during pre-debut to stay with BTS when he wanted to quit to become a dancer, Jungkook wouldn't even be in BTS. That's just one example. I don't doubt Jungkook is telling the truth when he says the 'J' stands for his name, but I think the placement of the 'J' is also intentional, and that he intentionally placed it above the 'M' in ARMY knowing that it spells out Jimin's initials. Because I think for Jungkook, he feels that the person he is, the Jungkook that's matured into a global superstar honed by hundreds of performances in front of ARMY, won't exist without Jimin.
Like I keep saying, what exactly jikook's relationship is, I have no idea. But there's something about them that's peculiar. It's wholesome and beautiful and perplexing and simple.

"The themes of faith and forgiveness were worthy of a theologian. Are you sure there isn't something you'd like to tell us?"
Never shoot pool at a place called Pop's. Never eat food at a place called Mom's. The difference between horses and humans is that they're too smart to be on what *we'll* do.
And I have lost people. Too many people. Lost them to chance, violence, brutality beyond belief; I've seen all the senseless, ignoble acts of "god's noblest creature." And I am incapable of forgiving. My feelings are with G'Kar, hand sliced open, saying of the drops of blood flowing from that open wound, "How do you apologize to them?" "I can't." "Then I cannot forgive."
As an atheist, I believe that all life is unspeakably precious, because it's only here for a brief moment, a flare against the dark, and then it's gone forever. No afterlives, no second chances, no backsies. So there can be nothing crueler than the abuse, destruction or wanton taking of a life. It is a crime no less than burning the Mona Lisa, for there is always just one of each.
So I cannot forgive. Which makes the notion of writing a character who CAN forgive momentarily attractive...because it allows me to explore in great detail something of which I am utterly incapable. I cannot fly, so I would write of birds and starships and kites; I cannot play an instrument, so I would write of composers and dancers; and I cannot forgive, so I would write of priests and monks and minbari....

I enjoyed making this. Jungkook is a talented singer and dancer and I think Standing next to you is my new favorite from his Album
Also we all know Bruno would have made more sense on this remix but Usher is Jm's favorite and this song is dedicated to him by me and Jk🤭
