The rules are the same as last year, but I'll reiterate them!

1. For organization, use the tag [#danganronpa rarepair week 2023] and [#dr rarepair week 2023]! Tagging me is optional, but it's the best chance of me seeing your content. Please also tag the characters involved in the ship and a ship name!

2. All forms of media are allowed! This includes digital/traditional art, stories, edits, and cosplays! However, using others' content is prohibited, and I will block you.

3. Incest and Warrior of Hope ships are prohibited, as well as anything involving Haji Towa. This is for my personal comfort. Any entries of these sorts will get you blocked.

4. NSFW (heavy gore and/or pornography) is allowed, but it will not be reblogged here. Mild gore will be reblogged. And please tag these things appropriately!

5. Please keep in mind that this is for rarepair content! Don't get me wrong, many mainstream ships are great, but I think that many rare ships also deserve a week to shine. And instead of making tons of individual weeks, I made one collective week for them.

6. There is no deadline for this ship week! Please feel free to do the prompts even if you miss the days!

And remember to have fun!!! I had a lot of fun with this last year, but hopefully I'll be able to participate more myself. I can't wait to see what people come up with!

Prompt: Talent Swap/ Favorite AU!

Listen, i love the cute fluffy ships but consider: the *drama*!!

Some AU info!:

- this is just about Kyoko and Syo so this au just swaps syo and kyoko's talents. toko remains the ult writer

- this time the top secret kirigiri family business happens to be on... the other side of the law... yeah.

- the anonymous detective syo has solved several murder cases by tipping off the police and writing out detailed accounts of their deductions but no one can figure out who they are.

- syo remains as obsessive and eccentric as ever (also she owns a conspiracy theory board because toko needed to give her a designated space to work on cases away from her novels) which contrasts kyoko's calm and calculating persona

- and well, even if syo does identify the so-called "ultimate killer"... it's not like she promised to use her talent for good or anything

- in summary: evil lady rights 💜💜

Kazuichi x Ryoma

And also Kazuichi x Korekiyo

I feel like ryoma would make Kaz feel very safe and rounded while Kaz would help ryoma see things in a different light and appreciate things differently . They would be very balancing

Korekiyo and kazuichi is very situational. I think it starts when someone raises the idea of what you would do if you weren't an ultimate and Kaz would say Osteologist bc he has the bone thing and I want him to explore that more. Like if his dad didn't make him be a Mechanic he would get into anatomy and how they price together and the history and study of them and that would pique korekiyo's interest as someone also into archeology and the more cultural side to the history of it. They could hang out and warm up to each other and their bond could lead to Korekiyo pulling Kaz into a ritual with sonia and Gundham, and he could start getting along with them better through the friendship I imagine Tanaka and Korekiyo having. It wouldn't be super easy at first but they'd see each other is a different light and start to be easier around each other.

Alright team. It's time to talk about THE WLW RARE PAIR OFF.

For the next week - that is, until midnight on March 25, next Saturday - anonymous asks and submissions have both been turned on. In that time, I am asking you to send in your rarest, most unexpected WLW ships.

After the week is out, I will spend the days between the 26th and the start of April going through the submissions and determining which are the Rarest but Most Beloved, based on the following criteria:

How many posts they have on this blog (any ships with 30+ posts will be automatically disqualified)

How many posts they have in their tumblr tag

How much art they have on Pixiv

How much art they have in their Twitter hashtag

How many times their ship is tagged on AO3

Whether they have had a ship week or zine, and how successful it was

How many people have individually created content (for example, if they have a lot of content but one person made all of it)

And, of course, how many people submitted it (for the most beloved portion!)

After going through all of the submissions, any empty spots will be randomly filled by a ship which has only one post on this blog - of which there are nearly a hundred, so rest assured we'll fill up the ranks!
