Once again you guys are back keeping up the hype enough that I basically don't need to do any reminder work on my own >:D Super super appreciated Anon, but as the event head I'd like to thank you guys too for your cooperation in this event! We had star attendance during check-in, with every single person getting back to us, and have been able to maintain active contact with all participants. Truly a feat with this many people.

I've finished scheduling all of the gifts for tomorrow and Monday. It's really incredible to see everyone's hard work in one place and I'm very glad I could host this event! Hopefully the queue doesn't break 🤞 Enjoy the show everyone! Once again, it starts at 8am PST.

Personally I just think it would be really interesting, given how much K1-B0 wants to learn about humanity and how Korekiyo is probably the best person to teach him. And I can see Kiyo also being very impressed by K1-B0, first as a thing humanity created but later on learning to see just how human he really is and falling in love <3

I've never thought about this ship before but the way you put it makes it sound interesting! I'm currently imagining them studying different cultures and Kiibo asks what seems like an easy question and Korekiyo's eyes absolutely LIGHT UP because he knows that it's such a complex subject. Cue a two-hour rant about said topic while Kiibo listens intently to all of it.

Do you think the fandom will be around for much longer?

Hi Nonny,

This represents my personal opinion (@lovealexhunt / @storyofmychoices) not my event blog which I try to keep opinion free and neutral/objective as possible.

I think as long as there are people to create content and others who want to read or engage in content there will be a fandom. I and many others help organize events and try to encourage and inspire creators.

This fandom is nothing like it was when I joined over 3 years ago. When I joined the tumblr fandom was already in decline. There was a resurgence when OH released but it has been in decline ever since OH3 (for a variety of reasons).

I create for characters who go in and out of favor. Sometimes there are a handful of people interested in them. Sometimes it literally may be one person who reads my content. If I'm honest, it sucks to create for such little interactions, but at the end of the day I care more about those characters than their readership. I create because it is an outlet for me. I think there are many others who feel the same. While we'd like more engagement and interactions, we're here because it is an escape from the chaos of our real lives, families, jobs, etc. We create because it is our escape to find what we need (for me all the fluff in the world). I think as long as people have an urge and desire to create, the fandom will hang on.

As many times as I think about leaving this fandom, I'm honestly too stubburn at this point to leave. So I will gladly be the last person here who shuts the door quietly when the room is empty and everyone has gone, but I think we are a long way off from that.

Also, it's not just our fandom, it's many fandoms. I think Covid brought some new people who had more time, but many of those people went back to work and just don't have time for fandom life anymore. I think it also put a lot of creators in burnout because they had almost too much time to create and they pushed themselves too far.

Hear me out: junkozuru in a "Izuru loves Junko bc you can't deny that she's Not Boring; Junko loves Izuru in the exact same despairing way she loves herself" way.

I think a lot about their first conversation in dr3 where Junko talks about being bored with the world and trying to find solace in despair, bc before that I hadn't really noticed the parallels between her and Izuru, but once you see it it's hard to unsee. I like to interpret that as being Izuru's reason for seeking out Junko at the end of UDG- he knows that she despises tedium as much as he does, but has way more actual drive to alleviate it (and given that she's Ultimate Analyst he can trust in her judgement/ability to do so. Like even when she annoys him that's still at least making him feel something past indifference)

I also think the parallels between Ryoko and sdr2 Hajime have interesting implications to junkozuru. I mean, dr0 Junko's main motive for wiping her memory and putting her amnesiac self through hell was to taste true despair, unadulterated by her normal ability to predict it. And in the end, she considers the ordeal highly successful in that regard. So her wanting Izuru, who's just as plagued by boredom as her, to experience Kind Of The Same Thing in a weird way feels almost? Empathetic? At least to me? (And we know from sdr2 chapter 0 that when Izuru brought AI Junko into the NWP to wreak havoc, he was well aware that he'd be turned back into Hajime. So him going through with it anyway kind of feels like another example of him placing faith in her)

(Sory to ramble I'm just fascinated by this ship; it's tied with queerplatonic Junko/Ryoko x Matsuda for my fave dr dynamic)

I wish that I had any real commentary to add to this because honestly? This is so fascinating. Just know that you've given me a lot to think about.

once again thinking about jason as duke’s robin. he’s ~4 years younger than jason, and that’s puts him at 8-12 during Jason’s time as robin. that’s prime time to get attached to your local kid vigilante before your own life goes downhill.

and if we try to keep duke’s meeting with bruce in zero year + duke’s age (so he can remember the meeting and hold that conversation with bruce), he has to be around 8. if he starts following batman through the news at that time because of the mess that just happened, the robin he sees is probably jason. I’ve literally connected the dots
