Trystan and Emily are invited to a spooky party on Halloween night.

a/n: i found this spoooooky prompt from @youneedsomeprompts. fair warning: A LOT of stuff is gonna go down in both parts 😉
“Emily, you look absolutely breathtaking.”
Trystan marveled at his partner, admiring every inch of her body. The purple gown was perfect on her, the fine fabric curving about her form gorgeously. Starry dots of white were speckled all across the gown. The metallic corset wrapped around her chest, the tiny lace details complimenting the surly detective. Emily, however, found the dress to be a bit too...galactic.
“Ugh. Why is this lace so itchy?”
“Beauty is pain, Emily. And you wear it so well.”
“Stop enjoying this.”
“Apologies, but I plan to enjoy looking at you in that pretty little getup every bit as much as I’ll enjoy pulling it off you,” Emily rolled her eyes, “Besides, I know how much you love watching Blades with me! You smile every time Imtura comes on screen!”
“The things I do for you,” Emily said dryly, her lips curling into an exaggerated pout. Trystan smirked, his hands resting on her waist.
Emily didn’t have the heart to tell Trystan that she never truly enjoyed watching Blades of Light and Shadow. She only sat with him on the couch every Friday afternoon to see the childlike excitement spread across his face.
“Well, that’s because she’s fucking amazing,” Emily grinned, “she’s fucking strong! She could crush both of us if she wanted to.”
Trystan chuckled, making a point to pose dramatically in his costume. He wore a black and gold suit, intricate details of gold lining around his outfit. The neckline revealed a small tuft of hair on his chest. Emily’s heart danced at the sight.
“Hm, now turn around. I need to zip you up,” Trystan ordered, his eyes facing Emily’s back.
“Where’d you get these costumes, anyway?”
“They’re straight from the set! I’m friends with the director, you know.”
“Perks of dating a rich idiot.”
Emily’s cheeks bloomed a light pink as the warmth of Trystan’s breath tickled her neck. Pressing a quick kiss on her shoulder, Trystan grabbed the zipper from the bottom of the gown and pulled it up.
“Much better,” he said, turning her around. “The party’s going to be at Marguerite’s estate in Staten Island.”
“She’s back from Drakovia?”
“Oh, yes. She’ll be in New York for a few months. She’s planning her first fashion show since...” Trystan trailed off, the memories of the last few months creeping up on him. Emily glanced at him with sorrow. A flickering memory coursed through her. Vasili’s dagger, the deafening crunch as it entered his chest; and his last words all ran through her head.
“Is Marguerite going to be okay tonight?”
“I hope so,” Trystan uttered, “but Mags is strong. I believe in her.”
They both nodded. Trystan urged a weak smile, his hands curling around Emily’s.
“Now then...are you ready to go?”

Autumn leaves trickled down the driveway of Marguerite’s manor. A flurry of crisp colors hurried down, rain droplets staining the windows. Vines crawled up and down the extravagant walls, alongside a bunch of window boxes that were filled to the brim with colorful flowers. Orange, pink, a crisp bright red.
Emily and Trystan stood beside each other, their eyes greeting the rest of the crew. They first spotted Luke and Ruby, smiling at their Chucky and Tiffany costumes. Faux bloody stitches speckled across Luke’s face, and Ruby dawned black lipstick.
“Oh my God,” Luke gawked at Emily and Trystan, “you’re Raine and Mal! But like, in their masquerade outfits!”
“Yes, we are!” Trystan beamed excitedly, pulling Emily closer to him. “And you...actually like Chucky?”
Luke squirmed a little, his face slightly red. “She likes Chucky! I do not like horror movies at all.” Ruby smiled, pressing a kiss on his cheek. “Especially ones with evil, demonic little dolls!”
“Well, you two look amazing!” Trystan said, everyone turning to Tommy. Emily’s eyes widened, baffled at her uncle in cowboy attire.
“Howdy kiddo! You look like a million bucks.”
“You’re a...cowboy?” Emily asked, watching as Tommy politely tipped his cowboy hat.
“Damn straight! I’m Quincey Morris from Dracula! You know how much I love vampires.”
Mafalda laughed, patting his shoulder. Her wife followed from behind, dressed in a sparkly white flapper gown. Mafalda smiled at everyone, her black top hat glistening in the night.
“It’s so nice to see you two again,” Theresa smiled, pulling Trystan and Emily into a hug. “It’s been so long, you guys should come over for dinner again sometime soon!”
“Absolutely,” Emily said, “and who are you two supposed to be?”
“Marlene Dietrich and the woman she kissed in ‘Morocco!’” Theresa said, “One of the first few lesbian kisses in Hollywood. I just had to beg Mafalda to dress up with me for the party.”
The grand door swung open, and a familiar face greeted them. Standing bold and tall, Marguerite Thorne waved at her friends and family. Her blue ball gown sparkled under the moonlight.
“Happy Halloween!”
With everyone stepping inside, they gawked at the well-decorated manor before them. From above, a giant crystal chandelier lit up the room, lighting up the faces of every guest. A large table with pastries — including Trystan’s beloved belladi — was set up across the entrance. Crowds of socialites were stocked across the ballroom, all sharing different tales about themselves.
“Oh my God!" Ruby said, her arms intertwining with Luke’s. “This looks absolutely beautiful. Thank you for inviting us!”
“Of course,” Marguerite said, “Now go on! You all should go mingle! There’s lots of food and desserts for the night, so go ahead!”
Taking hold of Emily’s hand, Trystan led her towards the bar. Grabbing two glasses of champagne, the couple sat down.
“You know, we Drakovians take Halloween very seriously,” Trystan said, taking a sip. Cocking an eyebrow, Emily smirked.
“Oh, yeah? Any superstitions I should know about?”
“There are so many. For one, you must always wear a costume at night to ward off evil spirits. Tsktsktsk, let’s see...” Trystan swirled his drink, contemplating, “Always carry at least four daggers on you. And of course, there are always lots of poisonings on nights like these, but seeing as the only Thornes in here are me and Mags...it’s unlikely.”
“Hey! Last time I checked, Marguerite wasn’t wearing a costume,” Emily sniped, crossing her arms.
“Did you not see her? She’s Cinderella!”
“Oh, come on! She’s just wearing a blue dress!”
“Not just a blue dress, it’s an exact replica of the one from the movie! You, my dear, need to catch up on your Disney knowledge.”
Hearing a gasp from behind, the two of them turned around. A little stunned, Emily’s heart fluttered as the doe eyes of a woman met hers. The woman’s dark hair was braided and tied with two pink ribbons. Emily examined her cerulean dress with a white collar, pupils dilated.
“Trystan Thorne! It’s been so long.”
“Aislinn! It’s good to see you!”
Trystan wrapped his arms around her, forming a hug. Pulling away, he faced his partner.
“Emily, this is Aislinn Tanaka! One of New York’s finest lawyers,” Shaking her hand, Emily shivered as their fingers touched.
“It’s so nice to meet you.”
“It’s nice to meet you, too! I heard about both of you in the news, actually. You took down the Heartache Killer, right?”
“Yeah, we did!” Emily and Trystan looked at each other, every confession Eleanor told them still in their heads.
“How do you two know each other?”
“Do you remember when I told you I wanted to set up that victim defense fund? After we got arrested?”
“You two got arrested?” Aislinn asked, her eyes widening.
“Ah, yes, arrested. We tried to join a sex cult but-”
“Hey!” Emily raised her voice, “It was for an undercover mission! We called the police on the cult, but Morris and Holbeck have always had it out for me, and so they fucking arrested us.”
Aislinn blinked at them, clearly leaving her with more questions than answers.
“Anyway — I discovered Aislinn and we tried setting it up, but then Drakovia happened.” Trystan sighed, his eyes heavy as he thought of the past few months. “Well, now that I’m back in New York for good, maybe we can start things up again.”
“Definitely. I still work at Ricci & Associates, so call us whenever you’re ready.”
“How is Gabe, by the way?” Trystan asked, his hands resting on Emily’s.
“Very busy, as usual. He and Quinn couldn’t make it tonight.”
“Well, tell them both I’ll be in touch! I really do want to set it up.”
Emily sat quietly, drinking the rest of her champagne. It was no secret she never really cared for small talk with strangers — even if the small talk was with very pretty lawyers. Still, all she thought about was Aislinn’s costume. A smile crept up on her, reminded of all the times she and her father spent hours watching Ghibli movies together.
“You’re dressed up as Sophie, right? From Howl’s Moving Castle?” The freckles on Aislinn’s nose crinkled, a grin spreading across her lips.
“Yes! It’s one of my favorites.” Aislinn said, her cheeks flushing a dull pink.
“I love that movie,” Emily grinned, “I grew up watching Ghibli. Princess Mononoke is my favorite.”
“You guys should meet some of my other friends! They’re all chatting by the chocolate fountain,” Aislinn offered. Emily shook her head, her hands gripping her empty wine glass.
“You two go,” Emily said. “I wanna get a refill first, and then I’ll join you guys.”
“Sounds good,” Trystan said, pecking her forehead. Emily smiled as the backs of their heads blended into a crowd of people. Turning to the bartender, she raised a finger.
“Horse Creek on the rocks,” The bartender nodded, handing her another glass. Emily sniffed, wincing as she prepared to sip of paint thinner. She smiled bitterly, recalling all the times she and Tommy took a shot of this atrocious drink in memory of her father.
Emily sighed as she tapped on the now-empty glass. She debated where she’d go after this — she was simply not in the mood to mingle with some rich big-wigs. She settled on finding Mafalda and Uncle Tommy.
Out of the corner of her eye, a figure in scarlet jumped out at her. Turning around, a familiar red-haired face cast out a devilish grin.
“Emily Rose, my darling! I thought I saw you drinking alone at the bar!”
The detective’s eyes widened as Olivia Nevrakis stretched out her arms into a hug. Pulling away, her mouth gaped. Emily examined Olivia’s eyes, displaying a hint of something beneath.
“Wonderful to see you, love!” Emily chirped, her cheeks warm, “I should’ve known you’d scope me out.”
“Well, I do have eyes everywhere.” Olivia winked, her eyes not daring to leave Emily’s.
“What are you doing here?”
“Marguerite invited me, of course. I figured it’d be the perfect time to...catch up.” Olivia winked. “Now then, would you like to get some ‘fresh air,’ Detective?”
A dare played in Olivia’s eyes. It was clear she wasn’t just here to socialize. There was something to be said. Something to be told. Emily nodded, following her into a nearby private balcony.
The detective and the noble stared up at the New York sky. Smog and little hints of stars sparkled across the night, the crescent moon standing tall. Ignoring the muted sounds of chatter from inside, Olivia turned to Emily.
“I know what happened in Drakovia.”
Emily winced. Everything she and Trystan faced in those few months was like a fever dream. Vasili was a ghost constantly lurking, waiting to attack and torment her. Her hands began to tremble. Every now and then, she’d realize that those very hands were the same that killed Vasili. Worse yet, Trystan’s hands as well — and that very thought ruined her. She was the one who decided Vasili’s fate, and although Trystan shared the burden with her; Emily owned a whole layer of guilt and shame that she’d have to carry on for the rest of her life. Could she ever admit to him the culpability she struggled with? Trystan Thorne was no killer, and yet she made him one.
“I killed him,” Emily mumbled, her voice weak. Olivia set a hand on her shoulder. “Trys and I haven’t really…talked about it. But I know it fucked him up, too.”
Olivia nodded, rubbing her back. “I’m…sorry, Emily.” Her brows furrowed, “But Vasili was dangerous. You know that. He would’ve killed you and Trystan.”
Emily wiped away her tears. A lump swelled up in her throat. She swore a ghost was sitting on her shoulders, the weight and tension from her body unbearable.
“No,” she murmured, “we could’ve fucking…thrown him in jail. Did he deserve to die? To be killed by his own fucking dagger?”
“Yes,” Olivia snarled, “all that and more. I’m sorry you two had to go through that, but it had to be done.”
Emily looked at her, her body weak. She nodded, a solemn glare in her eyes.
“What are you here for? Really.”
“Niko Borodin is dead.”

Mysterious Bounty Hunter: Samus Aran by Jade Gretz
Rain lashed against the rusted hull of Samus Aran's gunship, the downpour mimicking the relentless drumbeat of her heart. Below, shrouded in a perpetual twilight, lay the ruins of SR388, a once-thriving Chozo civilization now a skeletal monument to oblivion. Even through the blurred visor of her Power Suit, Samus could sense the oppressive silence of the place, a silence heavier than the storm above.
The Galactic Federation had classified SR388 as a quarantined zone after the Metroids – parasitic creatures Samus had twice eradicated – were discovered here. Now, decades later, rumors of a hidden Chozo temple had drawn her back, a siren call she couldn't ignore. Her mission: uncover what secrets this temple held, secrets the Chozo desperately tried to keep buried.
Landing amidst the toppled structures, Samus felt a tremor of unease. The ruins thrummed with an unseen energy, a malignant pulse that crawled beneath her skin. Ignoring the foreboding, she activated the Scan Visor, its icy blue light revealing a hidden entrance carved into the base of a monolithic Chozo statue.
The descent was a plunge into darkness. The air grew thick and stagnant, the silence broken only by the rhythmic hum of her Power Suit. The walls, adorned with faded murals depicting a civilization at its peak, seemed bathed in an unsettling luminescence.
Reaching the bottom, the Scan Visor flickered onto life, revealing a vast chamber. In the center stood a massive artifact – a swirling vortex of energy contained within a translucent sphere. Samus felt a surge of energy emanating from it, a seductive song promising unimaginable power.
But amidst the allure, a discordant note resonated. The energy held a sickly tinge, a malevolent undercurrent that sent tendrils of unease up her spine. The murals on the walls, once vibrant, now depicted scenes of grotesque transformation, Chozo warriors morphing into hideous, pulsating creatures.
A chill settled in her bones as a terrifying realization dawned on her. This wasn't a source of beneficial energy; it was a weapon. The Chozo hadn't hidden this temple t

Daughter of the Moon
Part 1
Narrator
We continue with our story, young Dawn has met the little princess and her brother. Their mother rather likes Dawn, and I am still telling the story hopefully I’m not pulled away from it. Trantor is currently in a dilemma and the ReNarde family has decided to send their youngest members to Shima Homeworld. It is a neutral territory and can not be brought into any war unless fully necessary. Now let’s get on with the story, as we are about to jump through time many times in order to get it across.
15 Years Later
Ayla (Age 15)
Today is the day I return to Trantor and see my father’s family, I barely remember them, I left when I was an infant. My parents stayed and the children left for their protection, I did enjoy spending time with my mother’s parents. My return however is so I can attend Streeling University, I am one of the youngest candidates going this year. I’m nervous because I’ve only ever had private tutors and etiquette teachers, I hope I can be myself here.
As I board the ship for the jump I feel something tumble into me, to my surprise it's my twin. “Artem what are you doing here? I thought you were staying to finish your curriculum to inherit Shima Homeworld.” “Well you know me, not one to stick to the lines that have been drawn for me. Also I’ve never been apart from you, can’t leave without your partner in crime.” he said. I looked at him fondly and replied “How could i leave without my other half, let’s start our next adventure”. We both got on the ship and put on our suits for the jump, as we waited we were approached by a man named Jerryl. “You must be the ReNarde twins, it is nice to meet milady, milord.” “Yes we are but I wish I could say the same in regards to our acquaintance, how do you know who we are?” I said. He proceeds to say ”I hear whispers here and there, also you my lady are quite famous, an IQ level far exceeding that of your predecessors, born to two of the biggest families in the galactic empire, and you have created your own industrial empire. What is there not to know?” I felt a blush bloom across my cheeks, as I walked past him Artem followed me and we ignore the looks in our directions. We get to our places to be put to sleep and I praise the droid as she blankly stares at me. As I feel the embrace of sleep my vision goes black and the jump is about to start.
CleonXIII (Age 25 Currently Brother Dawn)
I listen to the meeting notes with little interest, all I think about is the little baby with wispy white hair and bright blue eyes. It’s been 15 yrs and I’m still thinking of an infant, although now she should be an adolescent. Demerzel walks into the room excusing me from the meeting, my savior. As we leave together she has news for me, “Empire I was told to tell you that young lady Ayla is returning to Trantor to attend the university” I looked at her in surprise, an adolescent attending the university, one that was the breeding grounds for revenge, betrayal, and humiliation. “Demerzel, what of her family, is the girl going to be a problem for other scholars attending the university?” “No Empire, she has an intellect far superior than that of the staff of academia.” she says. She leaves me at the entrance of my bedroom to mull over my thoughts, why am I so consumed with this child. I ready myself for sleep and as I close my eyes I see bright blue eyes.
As I wake up and rub the sleep from my eyes, Demerzel is there waiting for me looking as if she has something to say. “Demerzel, what could you possibly want to say this early in the morning?” She says “Empire, Lady Ayla has arrived here at the palace with her family. This isn’t good, brother only ever invites people if he needs them to do his bidding. “Demerzel, did Day say as to why they were invited to the palace?” “No Empire, just that he wanted to talk to them about Lady Ayla’s acceptance to the university.” she said. I ponder what she says and get ready for the day, as I’m about to leave Brother Dusk walks into my room. “It seems you don’t need a wake up call. Would you mind hearing the thoughts of an old man?” He asks. I reply “Not at all brother, what’s on your mind?” “I fear our brother may be seeking the aid of Lady Ayla to watch Hari Seldon.” he told me bluntly. I paled when I heard that name, he’s been causing problems for the empire with what he’s teaching. We can’t arrest the man because of his popularity and with the thread between the people and our rule already so thin. We can’t afford to put the people against any further. Dusk continues “I fear for the girl, barely returning and then being asked to watch a professor all because we can’t seem to trust him. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth.” I think about his words and can’t seem to come up with a response. All I can say is “Let’s hope that’s the only thing he asks of her and not something that causes our loss of her families in our council.” Dusk looks at me with surprise, “Not what i expected out your mouth brother, how wise you are becoming before my eyes. How proud I’ll be when I become Darkness.” he finishes and leaves my room. What a long day it will be.
Artem (Age 15)
How can people space jump? I feel my insides have been rearranged. I shouldn’t have eaten before we left, now the entire deck will know a young boy had crab and tuna for dinner. Goodbye cruel I will be swallowed up in shame of my jump and how I didn’t hold my stomach. Oh no Ayla is glaring at me, wait why is coming at me. “Ayla, you mustn’t come at your brother when he isn’t feeling well.” I better start making a run for it.
Ayla
As I wake from the jump I feel a slight headache and some hunger, Artem to my side however looked very pale and ready to be swallowed up. He started mumbling and I heard part of it, I started going towards him. He proceeded to say “Ayla, you mustn’t come at your brother when he isn’t feeling well.” I chased him around the deck until it was time to leave for the transport down to Trantor. As we boarded the Star Bridge Artem sat down and a child approached me “You're very pretty, like a princess.” she said. I melted at the sight of the child, round rosy cheeks, light hazel eyes, and a petite frame that made me want to hug it. The young girl was staining her looking up so I knelt to her level. We huddled together until she started swaying with exhaustion and I picked her up so I could find her parents. All of a sudden I see a woman frantically looking around and all of a sudden she looks my way and rushes towards me. “Why do you have my child thief why? Do you come to planets like this one and steal children? I bet you find satisfaction in children.” she yells in my face. I stared at her and said, “Ma’am I do like children but I am not a kidnapper, however the way you came to me and didn’t even ask if your child was alright. You have no right to accuse me of the crime you commited.” She gapes at me and is about to reply before guards show up and take her away. The crowd around us that had gathered now disperses, the girl in my arms wakes and looks around. She says, “Thank you for getting rid of the mean lady. I went to bed yesterday and then I woke up in a dark room.” I looked at her and hugged her to me tighter, “Where’s your mom sweetie?” I asked. “She left me and I don’t know where she went. She never came back.” she said. That broke my heart, “Honey , do you have any other family?” I asked. Her little chin wobbled and said, “No it's just me.” I held her to me and decided on one thing, I’m taking her home so she can have a happy life. “What’s your name honey?” “Raven, my name is Raven.” she said.
Time Skip(14 hours later)
Raven in my lap was so adorable, she was holding a piece of my hair and cuddled into my neck. I’ve always wanted a little sister, but all I got were brothers, at least I got plenty of presents when they visited. We arrived at the level our family would be picking us up on, Artem was snoring and his head was on my shoulder. So I knocked it off and he grunted at me, he looked at me and was about to talk when I stood up and started walking towards the door, which then opened. “Come on Artem we have to hurry up, our grandparents are coming to pick us up. We mustn’t be late.” I said. All Artem did was grumble all the way to the terminal until we saw our grandparents. We smiled and ran into their arms and then they looked at a sleeping Raven in my arms. “Who’s this little darling?” my grandmother asked. I looked at Raven, “This is Raven, I plan on making her my ward. She came up to me on the Star Bridge and I found out she doesn’t have a family.” "Oh the poor dear, such a shame. Ok sweetheart you can apply to be her guardian." My grandfather cleared his throat and said, "We are expected at the palace in an hour, you both will get ready on the way there." Artem and I both groaned, we both hate meeting with dignitaries, envoys, and other politicians. However we are meeting the Empire of our galaxy. Someone kill me now, how much more must I suffer if not to listen to 3 men talk and ignore us. Let the torture begin.
Cleon XIII
As my brothers and I wait in the throne room for guests I think about what little Ayla might look like now. The last time I saw her she was an infant, is her hair long or short? Are her eyes still a beautiful bright blue, is her hair still that platinum color? My train of thought is interrupted by Demerzel introducing the ReNarde family. "The ReNarde family patriarch and his family." "Thank you Demerzel, go back to where you were." Brother Day, blunt as always, holds no regards unless it is to his gain. "Empire, I thank you for your invitation to your home, but may I ask why." The patriarch asks.
"I suppose you may ReNarde patriarch. It is in regards to your only granddaughter attending the university. It is a small favor that I wish to ask of her." The family head looked surprised, "What would you ask of my granddaughter of importance that the empire would ask of himself?" “I ask that your granddaughter watch a professor at Streeling. He’s been under surveillance but we don’t know what he is planning.” Brother Day says. As he continues talking I look at Lady Ayla, as I look upon her however she is not what I was expecting. Tall, beautiful, pale, anad her eyes sparkle, a vibrant blue that is most captivating. She locks eyes with me and I realize I’m entranced. She smiles and then focuses back on the conversation, she must be very intelligent to keep up with their jargon.
Demerzel then goes to the twins and escorts them, she looks back at me and has a look that says ‘come here’. “Brothers, may I excuse myself?” Both look at me and nod and go back to their discussion. I exit the room and follow after the small group, when I get closer I notice a child clutching at Ayla. I notice that they look nothing alike and realize the child isn’t hers. A sense of relief washes over me….
Wait! Relief over the fact that the child isn’t hers. I must be sick, my heart was speeding up, I started sweating, what is wrong with me.
Ayla sees me and approaches, “Hello Empire may you reign over the galaxy for many years to come.”
I stand there frozen and not able to say anything, after a few seconds I realize I’m being rude. I apologize and reply back, “Lady Ayla, welcome back to Trantor and thank you for the kind words.” She smiles at me and goes to talk with Demerzel, her brother walks up to me with a blank stare on his face. “I see you appreciate my sister's beauty but I suggest you keep it to yourself and leave her alone. She’s been hurt enough by the person she was supposed to have trusted the most. So kindly stay away from my sister.” The boy walks away and leaves me to lead his sister to another room which Demerzel has shown them to.
Who could have possibly hurt the girl that her brother threatens me in my home, I must find out.
Narrator
The story continues and we follow the paragon and her Empire, what could have possibly hurt to the point that her brother felt the need to interfere? Will we be able to learn of it before it is too late, or will it be told by those who will be there to take the light. This will become a twisted web that our young paragon will need to unravel before it is too late and can no longer be what it is she wishes to become.
How the universe wishes to keep us from the truth that may traumatize us further, let us value the way it embraces and tries to protect us from more sinister forces.

yeah yeah !!
the mechanisms are a steampunk folk storytelling band of immortal space pirates.
they each were mechanized by doctor carmilla (except maybe marius? im unsure). a part of their body is now mechanical, and do to this mechanization, they now are immortal. technically the toy soldier wasnt mechanized as it was never human in the first place.
they can die, but they regenerate.
all of their music is retellings of fairy tales/legends/mythology
they have 7 albums and a single.
4 of their albums follow along a main storyline. these albums are Once Upon A Time (In Space), Ulysses Dies At Dawn, High Noon Over Camelot, and The Bifrost Incident.
2 other albums are collections of extra songs. songs that may take place in the setting of one of the main albums but dont take part in the storyline, are a backstory to one of the mechanisms themselves, or something else entirely. they are Tales To Be Told volumes I and II
their single is Frankenstein. its very, very good and their interpretation of it is just *chefs kiss*
their last album is Death To The Mechanisms. its a recording of their last live performance. all the songs are from earlier albums but one song, death to the mechanisms, describes the mechs' final deaths
one upon a time (in space) is a retelling of fairy tales, with the main characters that are in it being snow white, rose red, cinders, and old king cole. it speaks of a galactic war, raging on for decades.
ulysses dies at dawn. greek myth. the main characters it follows are ulysses, orpheus, oedipus, ariadne, and heracles. it describes the suits attempt at opening ulysses' vault, and ulysses' attempt to drown out their haunting memories of the war.
high noon over camelot. arthurian legends. this one follows arthur, lancelot, guinevere, mordred, gawain, and galahad. it tells of a station, orbiting the sun. unbearable heat, and a space cowboy polycule 👍 it is so much cooler than i just made it out to be. it might be my favorite, though its hard to tell
the bifrost incident. norse myth. this one follows odin, thor, loki, and sigyn, with lyfrassir edda narrating instead of jonny (still played by the same person, though). a train passing through the bifrost, something that lady odin had created to shorten travel time, did not come out the other side for 80 years. lyfrassir edda is tasked with figuring out what happened via the black box. this one is very good
its easier to make sense of songs in the ttbt volumes if you listen to ouat(is) and udad first. there are no extra songs from tbi, and i dont know if there are any from hnoc.

Hi! could you do a oneshot were is a self aware au but with Pokémon. Where the reader is playing Pokémon Diamond/Pearl/platinum (you can choose which game).And how the reader gets sucked into the game by Lucas,Dawn and Berry and basically shows the readers life adapting and exploring the new world that their in new. Also Barry has a crush on the reader.You don’t have to do my request if you don’t want to!
For this I'm kind of going with the angle that you're somewhat self-aware but the others aren't. Slightly based on a comic I like!
For as long as anyone can remember, you've been inexplicably gifted when it comes to Pokémon training. Your mom often regales people with stories about how even as a baby you were wandering off in the park to play with wild Starly. When you got a little older you were able to mimic the cries of several kinds of Pokémon extraordinarily well, and get them to approach you.
What you hadn't told anybody is that you have these sort of... visual hallucinations, although you're not sure if that's an accurate way to describe them. If you had to, you'd compare it to covering one eye with your hand, and the way that it's almost like you can see through your hand? It's a bit like that, except instead of seeing a transparent image of your palm, you see things like numbers. Stronger Pokémon have higher numbers. You can see how much energy a Pokémon has until it'll faint, you can see how many times it will be able to use a move before it can't anymore, and you can see things like how fast a Pokémon is or how accurately it can land a move.
Everyone says you have what it takes to become a Pokémon professor someday, but you feel like with your peculiar ability... well, it'd feel unfair. Like cheating. Still, you're quite young, and your ability hardly seems like cheating at all when you and your friends set off to fill up the Pokèdex. In fact, you're extremely well-suited to this little adventure specifically because of this ability you have. You'll be able to get lots of valuable information for Professor Rowan, and help your friends become better trainers along the way.
The only person that you've ever told about this ability you have is your childhood friend Barry, who thinks it's the coolest thing he's ever heard of. You're like a superhero! He always wants to know if his Pokémon have leveled up since the last time you saw them. Sometimes he wonders if he has a level... You don't see one for him but sometimes you wanna humor that idea, just for laughs.
Your Pokémon and Barry's get along impeccably well. You imagine it's because you and him have been friends for so long, your Pokémon can pick up on the bond you two share and feel more at ease. As you travel the region and collect more badges, the two of you become a fearsome duo when it comes to double battles! You used to consider each other rivals, but it's become clear that you make much better partners than you do opponents.
You also lend your talents to Dawn and Lucas, especially with regard to the Contest Hall. Certain moves are more likely to suit specific categories, and you're able to tell what moves are best for what category. So when Dawn or Lucas want to enter a contest, you help them rehearse a bit! Your powers of intuition are mysterious to be sure, but you're dedicated to using them for the betterment of people and Pokémon. Those shady Team Galactic people have invited you to join them a handful times now, but there's no way you're going to. How does anybody just casually say they want to destroy the world and rebuild it without sounding like a fanatic? You'll pass.

In the year 2143, humanity had expanded its reach beyond Earth, establishing colonies on Mars and several moons of Jupiter and Saturn. Among the pioneers leading this new age of exploration was Dr. Elena Stryker, a brilliant astrobiologist known for her unyielding determination and piercing intellect. Her research on microbial life forms had already revolutionized our understanding of biology and life in the cosmos. Yet, Elena's most significant discovery lay ahead, entwined with the legacy of an ancient Roman legion.
Elena stood in the dimly lit command center of the Martian base, her eyes fixed on the holographic display of a recent transmission from a remote probe. It had detected unusual energy signatures emanating from beneath the surface of the Tharsis volcanic plateau. Intrigued, she immediately organized an expedition to investigate.
As her team drilled deeper into the Martian crust, they unearthed a vast underground chamber, revealing an astonishing sight: a colossal, ancient structure bearing the insignia of Legio X Gemina, a Roman legion from over two millennia ago. This legion, renowned for its prowess and mystery surrounding its disappearance, had apparently found its way to Mars.
Elena donned her exo-suit and descended into the chamber. The walls were adorned with intricate carvings depicting Roman soldiers alongside advanced machinery and extraterrestrial beings. The Anar’kai had fallen into a deep slumber to avoid extinction due to a cosmic plague, and only the descendants of Legio X Gemina could awaken them and harness their technology to save their species. Elena's team worked tirelessly to uncover more about the Anar’kai and their technology. I’ve been on a sinnoh kick lately. Don’t know why. Sorry for not Unova posting. But here’s my headcanon last names for everyone + reasons why (note this gets extremely fanfic-y)
So to preface this all: 
I’m a huge fan of the theme in sinnoh that everything comes in a trio, such as a trio of rivals, a lake trio, and the creation trio. So when I was thinking of last names to potentially give these characters, I wanted to lean into this idea of three.
I’m also a huge fan of outer space. Outer space as a metaphor/aesthetic is something really under appreciated. It has a larger than life feel to it that really suits Sinnoh even team galactic aside. And so I really like theming Sinnoh around stuff like stars, planets, everything up there, even in places it’s not already in. And there’s an argument (at least in my head) to be made that outer space can kind of come hand in hand with Sinnoh’s theme of creation. As outer space is the entire universe surrounding us, and it’s ties to mythology irl. While it wasn’t CREATED it is the entirety of what was created.
Anyways I’m rambling. Why do I bring up outer space?
Well among the many stars in the sky there exists three stars (Altair, Vega, and Deneb) that are the brightest of their respective constellations which form an asterism called The Summer Triangle. Which calls back to the theme of threes, but also calls back to my desire to incorporate more outer space theming into Sinnoh as a whole.
But just naming them all after The Summer Triangle stars wouldn’t be interesting enough. So we go further back into the Summer Triangle and look at the constellations they belong to itself for name theming.
I’m gonna try and not go too much into detail on how these aspects of their constellations fall back into their characters cuz some of this is very much. Me making things up. And doing my own thing. HOWEVER. Please improvise and make up conclusions as you will.
Dawn Lyre
Named after the constellation, Lyra, which contains the star Vega. I was originally half tempted to just flat out make her surname Lyra, but there’s already a character named Lyra in the franchise, so I opted for a translation of the name from Latin.
Anywho the constellation Lyra was named after Orpheus’s instrument of choice, which was played to charm Hades to bring back Eurydice from the Underworld. Of course, he failed in his expedition, failing to follow Hades’ conditions. Once this happened, Orpheus was left to wander and strum his lyre aimlessly. And in Orpheus’ death, the instrument was placed up into the sky.
This theming after Orpheus would very much allude to Dawn’s journey as a whole. No I will not elaborate much.
Lucas Aquila
Named after the constellation, Aquila, which contains the star Altair. While Lucas’s reasoning for his name is probably the weakest in my mind and is somewhat partially just to keep the surname theming between the three, I still think some aspects of the constellation are very interesting to call back to with his character arc. (Again no elaboration because I’m still somewhat building this.)
Anywho Aquila is named after the eagle who carried Zeus’s lightning (as well as kidnap Ganymede but that’s not overly applicable to Lucas as far as I know (plus the myth is very squicky)).
In the sky Aquila is overall fairly separated from Cygnus and Lyra, bordering neither. Moreover it contains extragalactic entities such as Hercules–Corona Borealis Great Wall. Aquila’s position in the sky as well as the entities it contains lead back to Lucas’s ties with the group, feeling overall separated (ie not being from twinleaf) despite their roles as a trio. The constellation containing things that may not be from our galaxy also falls back into Lucas and his callings. I don’t know how to word it but trust me please.
Barry Cygnus
Barry’s last name is taken from the constellation, Cygnus, which hosts the star Deneb.
The constellation was named after a person from Greek mythology, who, after pleading to Zeus to save his friend, was turned into a swan and was fixed into the heavens by the god to honor him.
Another interesting aspect of Cygnus, more on the science aspect, is the fact that it hosts several anomalies nearby it’s stars. And by anomalies I mean several x-radiation sources, theorized to be quark stars, neutron stars, or most importantly, black holes.
Again I will not elaborate on how this is important but they are.
If I ever get to it or develop more I will explain how this applies but for now this is what I give you.

Have I not talked about part 2 yet? It's time for me to talk about part 2!
Long post under here :
For starters, let me say my point about part 1 being total ass still applies. It was more Cynthia fanservice and 90% of what they talked about had zero relevancy to the actual thing. If they had released part 1 and 2 together, it would've been significantly better, but because it was released on it's own it made the Sinnoh arc look absolutely horrendous. The most Sinnoh content we had in received in Masters since basically launch, and it was by a long shot the worst.
So, did part 2 fix it? Yes! Oh my god! Part 2 is SO much better!!
Making it so Dawn didn't just fix everything in a minute was the first major improvement, that was one of my biggest issues with part 1- suddenly, the main issue was gone because she randomly found a legendary and made everything better! But they pulled a twist and said that actually, it did nothing, and everyone's asleep again. What's more, that Darkrai is even more powerful now, and perhaps not pursuing Cyrus and instead just letting Dawn and her flying croissant magic everything back to normal was a bad idea! Because they left him be, just as Cynthia did in the original event, he managed to gain more strength and even so close with Darkrai that he got a Sygna Suit out of it. We also see characters like Sycamore falling asleep too instead of just random NPCs this time. They fixed the ending of part 1 perfectly.
Another major issue with part 1, the mini arc they were beginning to bring up with the three commanders that then went nowhere is fully addressed and given plenty of attention here, with each commander even getting their own spotlight. Rather than turning their backs on him and calling them evil, they decide to try and help Cyrus, wanting to understand him. Notice how when the showdown with Cyrus did happen, none of the commanders even sent out their Pokémon? They're not here to fight him, they just wanted him back, not caring whether or not Cyrus saw them as tools to be used and then discarded. Even with everything they had been hearing about him, knowing his plan would lead to their deaths, they stayed by his side. The three of them never gave up on him. I love that they went down the route of the commanders trying to help Cyrus and give him a new goal rather than making them all betray him, even if it means that we don't get them playable for a while longer. What Cyrus needs is people who won't abandon him no matter what, and there they are. Genuinely, if we see Cyrus again and he's made even more steps towards change, it's very likely the commanders had something to do with it. This is also the second time that we've gotten an ending for Team Galactic where Cyrus and the commanders leave together! I'm willing to bet at some point, we'll get a line talking about how Cyrus would never admit it but he's gotta be attached to those three...
And let me highlight the moment between Saturn and Dawn here. Bringing up how selfless he is for Cyrus and how that's unhealthy was something I didn't think they'd do. They actually challenged a team admin's devotion to their leader. This obviously wouldn't phase the likes of Archer or Courtney, but for someone like Saturn? It's what he needed, and he'd listen too! Not only does it help him massively, but it helps him help Cyrus. We are on a one way train to that sweet sweet redemption arc and Saturn has now become the third subway brother (thanks Dawn)
Talking about the ending again- "Take care of Dialga." Once again, Cyrus effortlessly displaying that his words about not caring for people and Pokémon are lies. He's putting on this front of being unfeeling when you can see the way he cares for others. Even the fact how he took the commanders with him after all, calling them out one by one and by name, proves it further.
What a great ending.

The more I think about the utter disappointment that is the “Galactic Starcruiser Hotel”, the more I wish Lucasfilm would stick to hiring Star Wars lovers. The hotel could have been amazing if it had been done by people who cared.
And on a less whiny note, I keep dreaming that someday Lucasfilm will break off from Disney’s empire and we’ll get a real, stand alone park packed with attractions based on all different parts of the Star Wars universe. I can’t help but imagine how cool it would be to have a hotel with varying suites themed around iconic planets and ships - other interactive experiences like proper lightsaber training and demonstrations, or a huge laser tag arena based on Republic Commando, with assigned missions and progressively difficult levels - a Mandalorian armory where people could choose a clan and sigil, maybe get custom engraved jewelry and pocket knives - a whole section set aside for the dark side, perhaps with an escape room kind of situation where people could solve puzzles on Crimson Dawn’s orders or find their way out of holding cells and to an escape pod.
IDK, I don’t really know how these kinds of places work, but I feel like Star Wars is a such a rich universe, with so many opportunities for immersion, and I need somebody at Lucasfilm to take advantage of it.

Summary: The Avengers get sent back in time to WWII where they run into the Howling Commandos... complete with Bucky and Steve. Little hard to explain that away, especially when you are trying to keep some major secrets. Secrets like how you ended up in the future and why the hell Bucky is now a scary (reformed) assassin with a metal arm, not to mention that you married your friend's son.
Note: A 1000/10 READ. THIS IS SO FREAKIN’ GOOD THAT I READ IT 3 TIMES SINCE I FIRST FOUND IT LAST YEAR. It’s a nice and well written time travel fic with the howling commandos and past Steve and Bucky!!
A New Way For Us by ann2who
Summary: They fight Thanos—and they’re losing. And before Tony knows what’s happening, he’s standing with Doctor Strange in front of the Eye of Agamotto and gets send back in time. Can he find a way to fix things this time around, or are they doomed to fall apart all over again?
Note: This is where Tony went back in time to fix everything that went wrong and prepare for the arrival of Thanos! Due to an unexpected twist of fate, he found himself getting closer to Steve of all people!
