Ben 10 headcanons because nothing in this show is ever explained (this is ignoring the omniverse retcons)

1: Kevin has had at least three mentioned plumber badges, Magister Labrid’s that was later confiscated, the one he received on duty from Magister Prior Gilhil and the one that originally belonged to his father. Due to all the switching around of badges, it’s a little confusing to figure which one he uses. I like to think he uses his father’s, which I believe his mother would have kept, and requested it be repurposed as his.

2: The crew has stated not all alternate versions of Gwens are anodites, so I believe the “spark” Verdona talked so much about was unlocked by Gwen’s practice of magic that she started when she was 10.

3: Kevin, due to having a job and his own apartment, is most likely emancipated. His mother probably agreed because she’s just grateful to have her son back and nothing else.

(Warning sad and dark headcanon ahead!!)

4: Kevin’s hatred for his stepfather always seemed somewhat… unjustified to me. I had the idea that maybe Harvey, well…abused him, whether physically or emotionally, and that his mother never knew (sorry). This could further explain why he ran away and was under the belief he was kicked out and unwanted. 

5: In the future Kevin and Gwen are married and Devlin is there, but, for some reason (probably complicated life stuff) Gwen is Devlin’s stepmom instead of his bio one. But he still calls her “mom” and he’s still her son. (Also Gwen and Kevin probably didn’t have any kids together out of fear of what would happen if an anodite were to try to carry an osmosian)

6: another future one: Ben’s love life is canonically a train wreck. So I picture he’s had two divorces, one with Julie and one with Kai. Kenny came from the second marriage.

7: Future Ben has a Dad Bod no I don’t take criticism.

8: Gwen started liking Kevin (even though when they first met again as teenagers he was literally running guns) because the stress and pressure of being Little Miss Perfect got to her and this was her way of breaking away from that. Call it an extreme teenage rebellion that resulted in a wholesome relationship.

9: At one point Mrs. Levin and Harvey got divorced (I personally wouldn’t stay married to the guy that ran my son out of the house)

Headcanon that Kevin only reconnects with his mother after he teams up with Ben and Gwen

He’s with them for a few weeks and seeing their familial bond both with each other and glimpses he’s caught with their parents make him miss his mum more than he ever has in the past.

He makes the decision that he wants to reconnect with her, but doesn’t know how. He’s not seen her since he was 11, doesn’t know where she is or how to contact her. So he looks up his Harvey (his stepdad) who he knows has some sort of business.

He finds a contact number for Harvey and after a few tries he finally calls him. It’s obviously a terrifying thing, the last time he saw Harvey he’d just demolished their family home from a power overload, but there is a sense of relief when Harvey picks up.

“It’s Kevin” is all he can say, he doesn’t know what else he can.

There’s a silence before Harvey suddenly starts asking a bunch of questions. Where are you? Are you okay? What happened? Why did you leave?

Kevin doesn’t answer any of them straight away. He automatically asks if his mum is okay, if he’s still with her. She’s his number 1 priority.

Kevin and Harvey agree to meet up when Kevin finds out that a few years after his disappearance they moved and actually ended up close to Bellwood. When they meet up Kevin explains things to Harvey, about what happened and why he left, where he ended up etc.

Harvey doesn’t think it’s that good of an idea for Kevin to see his mum straight away, after seeing her struggle with his disappearance. He doesn’t necessarily trust Kevin not to run off again and leave him to pick up the pieces. Kevin, however, insists that he wants to meet his mum and doesn’t plan on taking off with no contact again. He wants to be in her life.

So, even though he doesn’t think it’s a good idea, Harvey takes Kevin to their new house to meet his mum. Kevin’s nervous, he’ll never forget how terrified she looked the last time they saw each other.

But now he’ll never forget the look on her face when she saw him in their living room. She instantly starts crying, and Kevin’s a little teary eyed too.

One of the first things she tells him is how much he looks like his father.

Max Tennyson in this AU, in addition to being Ben and Gwen's grandfather, is Kevin's godfather at Devin Levin's request. He lost his arm and his partner, Devin, during an intense fight against Vilgax and Ar'Ghoz, and was very present in Kevin's early childhood, even teaching him how to better control his powers and not let himself be consumed by madness.

However, during a horrible fight against Sarah Levin's brother, resulting in the near death of an 8-year-old Kevin at the hands of his uncle, Max ended up being forbidden from visiting them, only seeing his godson again 3 years later. His mechanical arm contains some litle surprises...  ;)
